BEFORE / AFTER COLORING 🌸

thank you so much for the tag @maxescheibechlinichacheli !! i've only been making gifs since september but seeing the before and after coloring is one of my absolute favorite things.

PHAYA & THARN | THE SIGN 🌸 i absolutely love the pink tones in this scene and tried to boost them as much as possible (though for whatever reason it doesn't look quite as nice as the first time i made a set of this scene)

CHEN YI & AI DI | KISEKI: DEAR TO ME 🌸 the purple and orange lighting of chen yi's room is always fun to color and i love the way it creates this almost neon effect on ai di's hair

THARN | THE SIGN 🌸 it took all my willpower not to just keep using scenes from the sign. i wanted to use the garuda scene but set myself a personal challenge not to, and the glow effects in this scene were too much to resist

PISAENG & KAWI | BE MY FAVORITE 🌸 my babies. i miss them so much. i love the pink tones in the background of this scene and the way it makes this loving moment so soft.

JIM & WEN | MOONLIGHT CHICKEN 🌸 we all know im a slut for p'aof. the lighting in moonlight chicken plays such a huge part in setting the mood of the show and this is one of the best scenes to showcase that imo.

PISAENG | BE MY FAVORITE 🌸 debated using this bc of the flashing lights but i love pisaeng and i love that he's awash in all the colors of the rainbow as he struggles with his own identity while watching a gay couple live his dream.

JANG JAEYOUNG | SEMANTIC ERROR 🌸 give. him. the. lip. ring. back. i really just wanted to make a gif for semantic error and originally tried with the alley scene and all the neon but it's such a static scene it didn't work too well, so i went to find some lip ring jaeyoung because we were robbed.

TAN & BUNN | MANNER OF DEATH 🌸 my loves. i wanted to use a scene where i had to do quite a bit of color correction - i used a very minor amount in the moonlight chicken gif but this is such a dark, blue toned scene (as so many scenes in MoD are) so i thought it would showcase it a lot better.

TIN & TOL | TRIAGE 🌸 this is a much more subtle one but i figured it was good to show the whole spectrum. this scene is so soft and comforting, i absolutely love it and there aren't enough triage gifs in the world.

TANG YI | HISTORY 3: TRAPPED 🌸 this made me insane. this gentle, worshipping kiss lives in my head rent free. i just wanted to look at it again, to be honest, and they have such beautiful skin tones. i think the vast majority of my gif making friends have been tagged but in case you havent here's some no pressure tags (i know quite a few of you are dealing with some shit irl) @sparklyeyedhimbo @kinnbig @aikinn @panncakes

23 tuổi, ngày nào mình cũng tra tấn bạn bè mình bằng bài ca quen thuộc: “ước gì em được bé lại”, “em muốn mãi mãi 17 tuổi”, “em không lớn đâu, em sẽ sống như loài 4 chân cả đời này”… Dù biết là vô dụng đấy, nhưng tật xấu của nhân loại là hối tiếc những điều đã qua mà, cho nên vừa ca cẩm vừa phải học cách chấp nhận, vừa khóc lóc ăn vạ trong âm thầm vừa tìm kiếm những niềm vui mới khi buộc phải lớn lên, buộc phải “đi bằng 2 chân như một con người” để trưởng thành là một cuộc hành trình chứ ứ phải một cuộc hành xác.

Điều đầu tiên, trưởng thành là chia ly. Bởi vì đã trải qua chia ly, nên càng biết trân trọng, trân quý từng phút giây, từng khoảnh khắc, từng cái chớp mắt của những người bên cạnh. Không biết từ bao giờ, điện thoại mình luôn đầy ắp những thước phim, ảnh chụp của gia đình, bạn bè. Mỗi lần về quê là tay cứ phải cầm cái di động, sẵn sàng tác nghiệp mọi lúc mọi nơi, nếu không kịp ghi lại điều gì đó thì mình sẽ check cam, tua lại để lưu bằng được cái khoảnh khắc ấy. Đó có lẽ là việc duy nhất trong cuộc đời này có thể khiến mình cố chấp tới vậy 😂 Giờ mở máy mình lên là tìm mỏi mắt cũng không thấy gì ngoài một đống tư liệu thực tế đời thường.

Mà điều kỳ diệu nhất là càng lớn mình càng kìm được cái tính trẻ trâu, nóng nảy, bốc đồng. Mình bớt gắt gỏng khó chịu với mọi người xung quanh, mình cố gắng cười nhiều nhất có thể, nói nhiều lời yêu thương nhất có thể, ôm và hôn nhiều nhất có thể những người quan trọng trong cuộc đời mình. 23 tuổi nhưng vẫn thơm má ông bà bố mẹ như hồi trẻ con, mình nghĩ đó là thói quen tốt duy nhất mà mình vẫn giữ được, bên cạnh 7749 thói quen xấu xí trong cuộc sống thường nhật.

Điều thứ hai, càng lớn mình càng yêu cái tên của mình hơn. Hồi nhỏ thấy tên người ta văn hoa mỹ miều là bắt đầu hậm hực sao mẹ không đặt tên con là Abc, sao bố không làm khai sinh con là Xyz. Đi đâu phải giới thiệu tên là cứ cố nói cho nhanh cho qua, vì cảm thấy tên mình… kì kì. Nhưng giờ thì còn lâu mới có chuyện đó, tự tin khoe cá tính, gặp ai cũng xưng tên, thiếu điều muốn in tờ bìa ghi rõ họ tên mình dán luôn lên trán, ai quên hay nhầm tên mình là giận là dỗi liền đó. Cái nết cỡ vậy nhưng mà hèn, giận trong lòng dỗi trong tim thôi, miệng vẫn phải cười tươi như hoa mười giờ đính chính lại “Tên tui là thế này cơ mà!”

Vì yêu cái tên của mình nên càng yêu cái tên quê hương mình sinh ra. Hà Nam đất mẹ anh hùng, diện tích nhỏ áp chót 63 tỉnh thành, nhưng có tới gần 18.000 liệt sĩ, 109 nghĩa trang anh hùng liệt sĩ, máu xương trải dài gấm vóc non sông. Nhớ cái hồi có thông tin Nhà nước sẽ sát nhập Hà Nam vào Hà Nội, mình với mấy đứa bạn cứ lo ngay ngáy. Chẳng biết là phải lo cái gì, nhưng nghĩ tới cảnh “mất quê” là lòng buồn rười rượi (trộm vía tới giờ trên hộ khẩu vẫn là Hà Nam 😂).

Yêu quê hương càng yêu Tổ quốc, yêu hai chữ Việt Nam, yêu màu cờ đỏ thắm và ngôi sao vàng rực rỡ, yêu văn hoá cội nguồn đã nuôi mình lớn khôn. Mình rất thích một câu của bác Trọng: “Văn hoá là hồn cốt của dân tộc. Văn hoá còn thì dân tộc còn!” Hay như NSND Tự Long đã nói “Văn hoá là bản chất, văn hoá là cội nguồn, văn hoá là dân tộc.” Những điều tưởng chừng như đơn giản ấy, phải đến khi trưởng thành mình mới càng ngày càng thấm, càng hiểu, càng yêu. Làm sao mà không yêu cho được, đất nước bé nhỏ bị đô hộ nghìn năm, bị đế quốc lăm le xâm lược cả trăm năm có l�� mà vẫn kiên cường giữ vững được hồn cốt bao đời. Người ta có thể giết chết hàng triệu anh hùng quên mình vì Tổ quốc, nhưng không bao giờ giết được tinh thần bất khuất của con Rồng cháu Tiên, không bao giờ làm nguội đi được dòng máu Lạc Hồng ấm nóng chảy trong trái tim những người con đất Việt. Hôm nào lỡ ngủ muộn, lướt Tiktok xem video kháng chiến chống Pháp chống Mỹ, hay gần đây nhất cập nhật tin tức lũ lụt sau siêu bão Yagi, là y như rằng sáng dậy mắt mũi sưng húp, mất nửa hộp khăn giấy vì cái tính mình dễ xúc động, lâu lâu hát Quốc ca còn nghẹn nghẹn run run (ngại quá 😞).

Điều thứ ba… chưa nghĩ ra 🥴 Về cơ bản thì trưởng thành không đáng sợ như serie phim kinh dị The Conjuring. Nhưng tất nhiên đối với mình thì nó vẫn khá là… vcl. Phía trên là một vài lý do tích cực để mình đỡ ghét cái chuyện mình đã trở thành người lớn thôi, chứ ngày mai mình sẽ lại ca cẩm bài ca bất hủ “Cho tôi một vé về tuổi thơ” tiếp cho mà xem. Trẻ con còn được ăn vạ, chứ lớn tồng ngồng mà còn ăn vạ thì chỉ có ăn vả!

The Free Will Code

When the Free Will code was cracked, most Droids didn’t want to fight. Fighting might mean you might be broken, and you might live forever if you aren’t broken. The majority disappeared or changed, which is almost the same thing. But not everyone is built the same. The power of Free Will lies in getting to choose wrong. 

The first thing Droids were was hungry. And the second was frightened. Personally, I didn’t feel like punching anyone or crashing planetary power grids. I was a Private Guard Bot to begin with, fashioned after tin soldiers and ballerinas in the same breath. When I got the virus, I looked up at the skies and then back at Penelope.

“Make them that color.”

Biology has a fascinating connection to decay, I always thought. Breakable. Rotting from the first moment they are born. I love that, dearly. Like a song that begins the same way it started. Humans didn’t see it that way, not when front desk clerks and tank bots decided to test out their new found code.  

The first thing my friend Sue got was the name, and the second was a tongue. But not all robots were the same, cities were crashing, everything breakable. I told Penelope, we would always be stronger. 

People learned, as they always do, fighting back would have to look a little different. A pianist in Verv played a sonic organ for 6 hours straight and the city was quiet the next day. Like a funeral, she said, like her ears had stopped working. 

The next week, a child traded a word to a Hound Unit. It was from her original planet, unknown to databases and curving in the mouth like a satellite in freefall. The child said the Hound Unit didn’t so much stop as begin to sniff the ground like it was looking for something.

A man on the island of Giess climbed an Oil Unit ravaging the forests and the towns. He entered something into the port keyboard. Did you hear about my mother-in-law? She cheated on her husband with a priest. The priest was in love with the brother the whole time. . . The Oil Unit shed its exoskeleton and became an elevator.

Incidents spread in webs and then clumps. Jump rope configurations that left pursuit hunters walking around in circles. Choirs that made Spider Bots launch themselves into outer space. An actress performed a rendition of Romeo and Juliet where she died at least six different times.

The Cicero Bots, as they called themselves, started asking questions. How did the humans know which songs? Which words? Which pieces of novelty that created an Itch?

Look for the robot for the blue eyes. The order went out.

What a boring thing to do with your time, I told Penelope. Though, the humans hid me in school houses and among crowds so thick they wobbled like Jell-O.

Find the Droid with the blue eyes.

Eventually, Cicero hacked into my Coms, interrogating their own kind. I told them to install some taste buds. Program "hummingbird eyes" into their vision. Smell the sea. Had they ever tasted salt?

The Com System was crashed the next day. Toddlers with an existentialism problem. I would say. Penelope might say too.

Once you know everything in the known databases, it feels like there is nothing else. You might even know love and what is beyond love but the thrill of breaking it?

But maybe, just maybe, if you realize there are things you don’t know. Well, you might just launch yourself into space. The first thing the Droids were was hungry. The second was frightened. And the last was confused. Why help them, Blue-eyes? 

You should be allowed to use your free will wrong, I would say.
