Summary: Timmy reminisces about what happened to him, giving Hunter hope while also sowing fear regarding Kelvin.

Tim stood over Kelvin's bloody body, sweat pouring down his face. He was an expert in only a very specific field of science but now he was forced to use his knowledge in a life and death situation. He had done what he could to close the wound, but he knew it was only a temporary fix. It all depended on Kelvin's will to live and if the wound would get infected or not, but the chances of him surviving were dangerously low. What bugged Tim the most was that time was running out as he nervously glanced at his watch. He gave Hunter a bottle of pills and instructed him to give them to Kelvin as soon as he regains consciousness.

"Will he make it?", Hunter asked, his eyes remaining on the sleeping body of his friend.

"I don't know", Tim shook his head, "you need to decide soon, if we're not in the cube before the timer runs out, all will be lost."

"What do you mean? You keep talking about cycles, timers and that cube, but what the fuck does it mean?!", Hunter almost yelled, the frustration growing unbearable.

"You wouldn't believe it even if I tried to explain it to you", his hand grabbed Hunter's shoulder.

"We've been attacked by cannibals, hell I even saw weird creatures trying to eat me alive and", the soldier's eyes angrily glared at Tim, "what the fuck was that blob thing in that bunker?! So please, do try me and tell me what the fuck is going on!"

Tim motioned Hunter to sit down as he retold the story of how his father and him boarded a plane, looking forward to enjoying a nice holiday together, but ended up crashing a horror infested island, not very unlike the one he was on right now. As he spoke, Timmy's face became more and more animated, his gestures more frenzied. His expression darkened as he explained the possible connection between the cruel experiments a power hungry corporation performed on him and what was happening here and now, holding up the papers he found scavenging through the bunkers to find the cube.

"I know that cube causing this," Timmy said, his voice shaking with a strange excitement, waving his hands around as that would prove his point, "it's an artifact. It's creating a portal to another universe, the side effects causing everything and everyone to mutate that isn't in this cube and it will happen every at cycles and the next portal will open in exactly one day."

Hunter listened patiently, his mind was torn between going up in flames at Timmy's absurd story or just ignoring the meaning of it and decide to do whatever it took to not end up as one of these monsters and finally get off this cursed place.

"And what happens if we don't make it there in time? I have to carry Kelvin, he'll not be able to walk all the way down to the beach", Hunter's brows furrowed, afraid to already know the answer.

Timmy's expression darkened, balling his hands into fists, avoiding to even glimpse at the man in front of him.

"I don't know for sure," he whispered barely audible, "but you've seen the slug in the room."

Hunter hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Let's do it. I'll carry Kelvin in my arms if I have to!"

You paced around in your living room, a bit over two weeks and still no message from Robert. You held your phone in your hands, hesitantly staring at it, not knowing what to write. He could just be not interested in you anymore, that would be the easiest and yet most painful explanation to his silence. But something at the back of your mind refused to believe it. The way he acted around you, the deep discussions and intimate moments the two of you shared. All of it seemed to be genuine and he most definitely didn't strike as the stereotypical army hotshot that ghost someone after a steamy night. Fear gripped your heart, clinging tightly to it as it would try to suffocate you. Something about all this felt seriously wrong but no matter how desperately you tried to come up with a solution to this, you weren't able to figure out how to get a hold of your soldier. As you tried to call the base he was stationed on this morning, a rude voice on the other end of the phone only spat at you, explaining that they wouldn't have the time to waste on heartbroken women calling to ask about a soldier they briefly met. You chose to ignore that answer, not monkeying around with someone who clearly had no intention of helping you.

Kelvin groaned as his eyes slowly opened, his body feeling as if it had been hit by a truck. He tried to move up, but the intense pain pinned him to straight back to the bed.

"What...happened?" he managed to croak, his lips barely forming the question.

His comrade Hunter, was still sitting by his side, holding a flask to his lips and putting a pill in his mouth.

"Please take this, it'll help you with the pain and to avoid infection," Hunter said in a loud, uncomfortable tone.

He knew Kelvin had trouble hearing which had gotten him in this situation, and he wanted to make sure he could understand him. Kelvin swallowed the pill reluctantly and gulped down a few sips of the water, coughing faintly at the feeling of the rather big dry pill almost getting caught in his throat.

"We're still on the island, Kel," Hunter began slowly, "you ventured out alone and were ambushed by the enemy. You got hit, and I had to carry your almost lifeless body back here."

Kelvin's mind raced with questions, but the pain in his waist made it hard to think. He lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering how if he was to get through this, not noticing how Hunter had been writing down sedulously in the notepad. He placed it in Kelvin's hands, smiling faintly.

I've found a way out! We need to go to the beach as soon as possible! Please recover quickly! I'll get you out of here!

Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network, dies at 93

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (June 8, 2023) — Marion Gordon “Pat” Robertson religious broadcasting pioneer, philanthropist, educator, Christian leader, businessman, and author died on

June 8, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 93.

The Christian Broadcasting Network announced his death.

Dr. Robertson served as the founder and chairman of The Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc. (CBN); founder, chancellor, and chief executive officer of Regent University; founder of Operation Blessing Relief and Development Corporation (OB); founder and president of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ); co-founder and chairman of International Family Entertainment, Inc.; and a leading force behind several other influential organizations and broadcast entities.

His greatest treasure in life was knowing Jesus Christ and having the privilege of proclaiming Him and His power to others.  His life was lived to the glory of God.

Early Life, Education, and Military Service

Pat Robertson was born on March 22, 1930, in Lexington, Virginia, to A. Willis Robertson and Gladys Churchill Robertson. His father served for 34 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

After graduating with honors from McCallie School, a military prep school in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Robertson entered Washington and Lee University in 1946, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.

In 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. After graduating magna cum laude from Washington and Lee in 1950, Robertson served as the assistant adjutant of the First Marine Division in Korea. He was promoted to first lieutenant in 1952 upon his return to the United States.

Mr. Robertson received a J.D. from Yale Law School in 1955 and his M.Div. from New York Theological Seminary in 1959.

Family

In 1954, he married Adelia “Dede” Elmer Robertson. They were married 67 years before she predeceased him on April 19, 2022, at the age of 94.

Together they had four children: Timothy Brian Robertson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Elizabeth Robertson Robinson of Dallas, Texas; Gordon Perry Robertson of Chesapeake, Virginia; Ann Robertson LeBlanc of Portsmouth, Virginia; plus 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Religious Broadcasting

In 1959, Mr. Robertson moved his family to Tidewater, Virginia, with just $70 and a vision of establishing the first Christian television network in the United States.

Although he didn`t even own a TV, he filed incorporation papers for The Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc., then raised funds to purchase a defunct UHF station.

On October 1, 1961, CBN began broadcasting from WYAH-TV in Portsmouth, Virginia. At the time, its signal barely reached the city limits, recalled his son Gordon Robertson, CBN`s president and CEO.

The ministry’s scope grew exponentially over the decades, reaching viewers across America and around the globe through television broadcasts, cable, satellite, the internet, and other media.

Today, CBN is one of the world’s largest evangelistic ministries, proclaiming the Good News in over 100 countries and dozens of languages, including Russian, Arabic, Spanish, French, and Chinese.

CBN`s flagship program grew out of a telethon in 1963, when Mr. Robertson asked a “club” of 700 viewers to give $10 a month.

In 1966, The 700 Club program was created, airing each weekday with interviews, prayer and ministry. Today, it is one of the longest-running religious television programs in America.

He hosted the daily program until October 1, 2021, the sixtieth anniversary of CBN`s first broadcast, when he announced that Gordon Robertson would be the show`s new full-time host.

Over the years, Mr. Robertson`s co-hosts included Ben Kinchlow, Sheila Walsh, Gordon Robertson, Terry Meeuwsen, and Wendy Griffith.

Throughout its broadcast history, The 700 Club and CBN News have covered national and international events and issues, including key elections, the COVID-19 pandemic, the war on terror, Israel, and the Middle East.

Guests have included former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump; key congressional leaders from both parties; as well as a “Who’s Who” of world and national figures, journalists, professional athletes, celebrities, and pundits.

Regent University

In 1977, Mr. Robertson incorporated CBN University, and classes began in 1978.

Later renamed Regent University, the school quickly became a leading academic center for Christian thought and action, and now has over 30,000 alumni. Today, thousands of students take classes on its Virginia Beach campus and online around the world.

With the mission of “Christian leadership to change the world,” Regent University offers associate`s, bachelor`s, master`s, and doctoral degrees in numerous disciplines and holds accreditations from bodies including the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

U.S. News & World Report has listed Regent among the top national universities four years in a row.

Distinguished faculty and lecturers have included John Ashcroft, former U.S. Attorney General; Vern Clark, former Chief of Naval Operations; Steve Forbes, president and CEO of Forbes, Inc.; Justice Samuel Alito, U.S. Supreme Court; and Michelle Bachmann, former U.S. Congresswoman.

Operation Blessing

Operation Blessing was established by Mr. Robertson in 1978 as a nonprofit organization with a mission “to demonstrate God`s love by alleviating human need and suffering in the United States and around the world.”

Its programs focus on the primary goals of providing hunger relief, clean water, medical aid, and disaster assistance to help break the cycle of suffering for those in need.

Operation Blessing has provided relief aid in the aftermath of numerous disasters across America and around the globe, including the COVID-19 pandemic, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and fires.

Since its founding, Operation Blessing has touched the lives of millions of people in America and around the world.

The American Center for Law and Justice

In 1990, Mr. Robertson founded the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a public-interest law firm and education group that defends the First Amendment rights of people of faith.

Focusing on pro-family, pro-liberty, and pro-life issues, the ACLJ has argued before the Supreme Court and won several high-profile religious freedom cases.

Author

A prolific and New York Times best-selling author, Mr. Robertson wrote 24 books, including The Secret Kingdom, Answers to 100 of Life`s Most Probing Questions, and The New World Order, which were each the number one religious book in America in the year of their respective publication.

His other books include the autobiographical works Shout It From the Housetops and I Have Walked With the Living God; along with My Prayer for You, Maximum Security, Beyond Reason: How Miracles Can Change Your Life, America’s Dates With Destiny, The Plan, The New Millennium, The Turning Tide, The End of the Age, Steps to Revival, Bring It On, The Ten Offenses, Courting Disaster, Miracles Can Be Yours Today, The Greatest Virtue, Right on the Money, Successful Families and Finances in the Secret Kingdom, The Power of the Holy Spirit in You, and The Shepherd King, released in May 2023.

Presidential Candidate

In 1986, Mr. Robertson announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for president of the United States on a conservative platform.

While he enjoyed some success in the early primaries, he eventually placed third.

At the 1988 Republican Convention, Mr. Robertson endorsed Vice President George H. W. Bush, who won the nomination and the presidency.

Organizations, Awards and Honors

Mr. Robertson was a past president of the Council on National Policy.

1982 he served on President Ronald Reagan`s Task Force on Victims of Crime. He previously served on the Board of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and on the Governor`s Council of Economic Advisors in the State of Virginia. Mr. Robertson founded and served as the president of the Christian Coalition of America until his resignation in 2001.

Over the years, numerous officials and groups have recognized Mr. Robertson`s achievements, including Humanitarian of the Year in 1982 by the Food for the Hungry organization; Man of the Year in 1988 by Students for America; Christian Broadcaster of the Year in 1989 by the National Religious Broadcasters; one of America`s 100 Cultural Elite in 1992 by Newsweek magazine; the Cross of Nails award in 2000 for his vision, inspiration and humanitarian work with The Flying Hospital; and the Distinction in Ministry Award in 2009 from New York Theological Seminary.

In 2013, he received the Winston Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award, the first of its kind awarded by the Faith & Freedom Coalition in Washington, DC. And in 2017, he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Silver Anniversary Movieguide Awards in Hollywood, California, having served on the Board of Reference for their Christian Film & Television Commission since 2010.

In honor of his support for Israel, Mr. Robertson received the Defender of Israel Award in 1994 from the Christians` Israel Public Action Campaign; the State of Israel Friendship Award in 2002 by the Chicago chapter of the Zionist Organization of America; and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Support of Israel in 2008 by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

Night time, and a teen girl and boy are walking after a band concert. He leads he to a short cut and they race. He falls and they talk, she wants to be a figure skater. They kiss, but she stops, wondering why the popular boy wants her. The girl, Rachel, tries to go, but the boy, Marcus, holds her and tells her he knows she "wants it". She runs off but into another boy. Then another and another arrive, all planning to rape her. She is pushed to the ground and cries, one boy, Scott, is confused, saying he thought she wanted this. One of the holds a knife to Rachel, but she knees him in the crotch. She struggles and runs off, the boys in pursuit. She runs in to the road and is hit by a car. The unseen boys take off. Rachel lies in the road, bloody.

Cut to credits.

Next, we see Rachel in an electric wheelchair she controls with her chin. She isn't happy to be outside, but her mother thinks it is good for her, that she needs to put the past behind her. Rachel thinks she has no life.

At Curious Goods, Johnny has two items for him and Micki to go after, a wheelchair and an umbrella. He wants to just relax, but Micki doesn't want to pass up good leads and tells him to take this seriously.

Rachel and her mom stop at a yard sale. An old man shows Rachel an old wheelchair and says he was like her, trapped in his body and that the chair healed him. Rachel is intrigued. She asks her mom to buy it, but the old man gives it to her for free.

Micki and Johnny get back and have recovered the umbrella. Micki finds a telegram from Jack, who is in London on the trail of the Shard of Medusa and wants Micki to come help him. Johnny is unsure about going after the wheelchair alone, but Micki says Jack needs her.

At home, Rachel has her mom put the wheelchair by the window in her room and her mom helps her get into it. Rachel laughs, making her mother happy. Rachel asks to be alone. Rachel stares out the window, remembering the assault and the accident, and the old man's promise about the chair. Suddenly, she moves her hands and her feet. Then she stands, a sort of spirit form of herself as her body remains in the chair. She runs off.

Johnny drives to the home of the old man, who's daughter says once he recovered from his stroke, they didn't need it. He gave it to a young woman who must live nearby. The old man watches.

At night, the boys who attacked Rachel are driving around, going to steal tests from the school to cheat and pass the class. One heads into the quiet, dark school. He hears a noise, a door opening. In the lab, he searches the desk. The door opens and Rachel comes in, taunting him. She wants a confession from Peter, who tries to get away. He knocks a shelf of chemical over on himself and is burned and melted by the mixture. Rachel runs off. The other boys hear his screams and run in, too late to help. But Peter says "Rachel" before dying. They take off.

Running home, Rachel runs into the old man, who says the chair will start to heal her now. She runs, and vanishes, appearing back home and going back into her body. Once there, she moves her hands, shocking her mother. They both cry happily.

Next day, her mother wants to see what the doctors think, but Rachel rebuffs the idea. Her mother hopes the doctors can make her recover more, but Rachel says she can do this on her own. There is a knock on the door. Johnny asks her mom if they bought the antique wheelchair and offers twice what they paid. Her mom says her daughter is too attached and sends Johnny off. Rachel sees him out the window, and Johnny sees her, too. Her mom wants to walk, but Rachel wants to stay home, looking out the window, in the old wheelchair.

Johnny arrives at the high school and asks some students about Rachel. They tell him about what happened to her, and one of the attackers, Scott, overhears. They also tell Johnny about Peter's death in the chem lab. They tell Johnny to talk to the kids who knew Rachel. Johnny gets in the car, and Scott sits in the passenger seat. He tells Johnny about what him and the other kids did, and regrets his part and listening to Marcus. He also adds that Ed and the late Peter were also involved. Scott is worried he'll die, and Johnny gives him his number to call if he needs help.

Scott is walking home when Marcus pulls up, talking about another girl. Scott and him argue about what has been going on, and wants to turn himself in. But Marcus says if he snitches, he'll kill him, then tells him to go to Ed's after dinner before speeding off.

Johnny arrives back at Curious Goods, looking through a current high school yearbook. He finds pictures of the boys.

At night, Ed is trying to put the moves on a girl on a rooftop, who is nervous. The door opens, Ed thinks it is Marcus, and at the mention of his name, the girl takes off. Ed hears a girl laughing on the roof. Rachel reveals herself to a confused Ed. She taunts him, walking closer as he backs off. He realizes she killed Peter and rushes at her but goes right through her. Johnny arrives in the street. Ed is panicked, backing away from Rachel, who says he shouldn't have tried to rape her. Ed stumbles backward off the roof, to his death on the street below. Johnny arrives on the roof, in time to see Rachel fade away, but too late for Ed.

Rachel is home, going back into her body. Now, she can lift her hands and arms. She calls to her mother. And outside, the old man is listening.

Later, Rachel is in bed reading. Someone breaks open a window and climbs the stairs. Rachel falls out of bed, trying to crawl to the old wheelchair. Marcus shows up, taunting her. Johnny pulls up outside and hears Rachel call for help as Marcus picks her up and throws her on the bed. He doesn't know how she killed his friends but wants to stop her. Johnny arrives and pulls him off. Marcus pulls out a knife, but Johnny disarms him then holds the knife on Marcus, who is petrified. Johnny tells him to get far away, and Marcus takes off. Johnny checks on Rachel, then makes sure Marcus leaves. The old man watches a pissed off Marcus leave.

Inside, Johnny goes to take the chair, but Rachel begs him not to. Johnny realizes the murders are helping her gain mobility. She wants to just keep it until she can walk and the boys pay for their crime. Johnny won't listen, taking the chair as Rachel screams for him to stop. Outside, the old man stops Johnny, telling him the chair saved him from his stroke. Johnny listens, reluctantly. The old man says Marcus will be back, and she is defenseless to stop him. Johnny says no, but the old man pushes, saying the boys made their choice and he should let Rachel make her own choice. He asks Johnny if he wants to guard Rachel for the rest of her life. Unsure, Johnny lets the old man take the cursed wheelchair back up to Rachel.

Scott shows up at Curious Goods looking for Johnny. The door is unlocked, so he goes inside and looks around.

Back at home, Rachel is again in the wheelchair and leaves her body as the old man watches and tells her to go heal herself. After Rachel's spirit form leaves, the old man himself fades away.

Rachel arrives at Curious Goods and says hi to Scott, who is shocked. She knows Marcus persuaded him and that he doesn't need to be afraid. She pretends to want to sleep with Scott, right on the store floor. She undoes his pants and ties him with his own belt. She pulls out a knife and tells him he was worse then the others for not helping. She then cuts the cord to the chandelier above which falls and kills Scott. Johnny arrives back just too late again. Rachel fades off.

At home Rachel slips into her body, just as her mother notices and wants to know what is happening. Rachel explains about the chair, then says she can feel her legs and stands up. She stumbles and her mother drags her out of the room, away from the chair. They struggle in the hallway, Rachel pulling a knife out on her mother. Marcus reveals himself, having been hiding in a room. He slaps her mom, knocking her to the floor. Rachel tries to crawl back to the wheelchair, struggling to get in, but Marcus grabs her, tossing her across the room. She sprays him with hairspray, using the diversion to get herself back in the chair. Marcus wheels the chair around the hallway, to the top of the stairs. Rachel leaves her body as he watches, then grabs him from behind, strangling him with a ripped out phone cord. He collapses.

Johnny pulls up outside and rushes into the house. Rachel goes back in to her body but still can't walk. Marcus hasn't died. He jumps up to push Rachel and the wheelchair down the stairs, but Rachel grabs him and the fall together, as Johnny watches. Rachel's mother comes to in time to see both of them, dead at the bottom of the stairs. She screams and Johnny holds her.

At night, at the store, a sad Johnny is greeted by the old man, who wants to buy the chair back to give it to another. Johnny tells him to get out. The old man says the chair will still be there long after they are gone, laughing and taunting Johnny, who jumps up and uses an axe to attack the chair over and over. The wheelchair suffers no damage, thanks to the curse.

My thoughts:

I'm glad they had this episode. I think at this point, a Johnny episode where he's forced to go on his own was good for his character. And we get more of his mind set from the previous episode, where he wanted to use a cursed item from the vault to help them. Here, that is played on when the old man convinces him to let Rachel hold on to the chair until she's healed. Of course, Johnny immediately regrets that decision when he returns home to find Scott dead.

Do you think he told Micki and Jack what he did and what happened as a result? I'm pretty sure they would both have been livid, at best. I don't think it is ever mentioned, so I am going to guess not. And Johnny still hasn't taken this lesson to heart, as we will see in the future.

I do get the impulse, though. Rachel seems like a sweet kid suffering via the whims of jerks. But where is the line? It is more black and white for Jack and Micki, but Johnny isn't so sure.

I feel bad for Rachel's mom. She has already gone through so much, then she wakes up and her daughter is dead, with Marcus, and Johnny is in her house. Just how the hell did Johnny explain all of that, and end up free back at the store and with the wheelchair?

Also liked him beating the crap out of the chair, in anger. He got to release that anger, but must have been deflating to then see the chair, as good as ever, as he brought it down to the vault. Curse begins to wear on him now, too.

Eric dropped to his knees, a sharp, boiling pain oozed from his shoulder as his head nudged towards the source of the injury - A gunshot that tore through his jacket and his arm. Astonished, Eric turned his head towards the direction of the entry hole, and there stood behind him a face he could never forget... Dr. Greg Jones... Holding a revolver with several men in black and a man in a silver jacket rushing behind him. As Greg was overpowered, Eric collapsed, face-first, into the floor below him.

With his senses in agony, dimming his consciousness, Eric heard the man in silver speak. "Little mutant Timmy, all grown up!"

It must've been hours or days since losing consciousness, at this point, Eric was completely lost. How did Greg survive the fight with Meg? Why did Greg shoot him? Who was the man in silver and what did he do to convince Greg to work together?

Eric couldn't process everything before he was nudged slightly, his eyes opening to see before him the man in silver, the aforementioned men in black... and Greg, tied up and bloodied.

"What the HELL is going on...?!" Eric gargled through phlegm and spit as he focused on the scene before him. Greg was suspended from rafters by rope, shirtless and gashed along his chest with chains, flesh misplaced and other places welted from repeated beatings.

"Eric LeBlanc, shitty book author and even-shittier father to nutjob mercenary Timothy LeBlanc... So, with that out of the way, what do you and Dr. Crand have in terms of rivalry?" Mused the man in silver as he continued to poke Eric, provoking a stern push from Eric's healthy arm with a stiff receipt from the butt of one of the mercenaries' gun to his damaged shoulder, prompting a large grunt in pain.

"Keep your damn hands to yourself, LeBlanc." Hissed the man in silver as he brushed against the poked area of clothing dismissively, as if he was touched by a foul animal or a lower class of being.

"Who are you, shiny?"

"Zhang." Remarked the shiny-suited man.

"I also accept 'Master', 'Commander', 'Leader'.

.. I still am trying to find the name that suits-"

"Silver-jacketed prick." Grumbled Greg through a mouthful of spit and blood.

"Ahh... Doctor Crand..." Zhang snickered as he walked over and playfully slapped the cheek of the doctor. "Of course I should take my naming advice from a man like you. After all, double lives are your bread-and-butter..."

'''Doctor Crand?' You mean Doctor Jones. Right?" Eric quizzed, looking at his former friend.

Zhang smiled widely.

"Do I? It's hard to keep track of such a slippery bastard like Crand... Or Jones... Or...-"

"Is the silver jacket for how you're always in second place? Or could your family never afford anything nice like gold?" Barked Greg to Zhang, who quickly stopped dead in his tracks. A cold, eerie howl of wind cut through the makeshift prison as Zhang swooped in close to Greg as he undone his jacket, wrapping it around his waist as he held Greg's head between his hands.

"How simple it could be for me to break your little chicken-shit neck, Crand...-"

"..If you knew where the Cube was, isn't that right, Zhangy?" Smirked Greg momentarily as Zhang upholstered his chest-mounted revolver, levelling against the doctor's head.

"Aren't you the most clever man around? Tell me, for someone so clever, you'd think you'd avoid idiots like the LeBlancs or Puffton..." Zhang sighed as he pressed the barrel into Greg's temple.

"Very brave words from one of Chuck Dagger's boot-lickers. You still believe in the tooth fairy too, Zhang?" Greg smiled as Zhang's face grew red, lowering his weapon momentarily to look at Eric. "To remember my footnotes of your book, LeBlanc, Dr. Jones, the one-armed doctor was to have died in that fight against the beast. Correct?"

Eric slowly nodded to the man with the gun.

"...Which arm was the one that was broken? Can you remember?”

Eric shook his head. He knew that Zhang was up to no good with such a specific question about Gre-err... Doctor Crand.

Zhang sighed. "Won't you tell me, Mr. LeBlanc? We don't have enough time left on this island to locate the location of the Cube. Your son's survival relies on the activation of the Cube, after all."

Greg laughs softly. "Oh? Is this the story we're going for now, Zhang? First it was to make sure the mutants couldn't reach the inside of the Cube, and now you want TImmy to be in the Cube and survive?!"

Zhang snaps his head back to Greg and flips his revolver, planting it into the side of Greg's orbital with malice. "I need you alive, Crand, but that doesn't mean I need all of you to be safe-and-sound..." Zhang purred with excitement as a light went off in his head. "Better yet... I don't need you alive... I could always take you to site 1 on a helicopter and..." Zhang trails off with menace as Greg's eyes slowly widen.

"You'd kill him and revive him with the obelisk, again and again... " Eric shuddered, much to Zhang's delight.

"Doctor Crand... You were aware of Team A's personnel, correct?" Zhang smirks as he begins naming off members, one-by-one, "You had the pilots; dead. Timmy; imprisoned. Kelvin; imprisoned... and Fisheye...?" Zhang trails off once more to allow the terror to build.

“No…”

Summary: Kelvin tries to contribute to their survival or at least to their dinner but how could he hear the danger lurking in the shadows?

Kelvin woke up to yet another day on the cannibal-infested island. It had been two weeks since he had crash-landed on this godforsaken place, and the hope of ever sleeping in your arms again was slowly slipping away. Yes you, the love of his life who he only remembered two days ago. An unexplainable happiness cursed through his entire being at the reoccurrence of your memory, he felt like a block of ice that started only now to thaw at the rays of your precious warm sunshine but he felt it dying ever so swiftly as the thought of what happened and where he was again. He remained stranded with Hunter in this horror infested island, he was hungry, weak, and still injured. While the awful headache only pained him once every few days, he was still deaf to the sounds of the forest around him. He had been surviving on a few pieces of rabbit meat and some berries they found, but the supplies were running low for him and Hunter, and their energy was fading too fast. Two days ago, Kelvin had the first flashback of you out of the blue when he caught the scent of bright purple flower between the trees. He remembered your beautiful face, your soft voice and your gentle touch. It was as if you were there in the forest with him, but the memory only fueled his despair further. The moments he spent with you, the closeness you two shared would be in vain if him and Hunter wouldn't manage to find a way back into civilisation. Although the memory of your smile and the way you looked at him in the imaginarium of his mind made him feel a little better, it was fleeting by the day. The thought of never seeing you again, never holding you in his arms, made him feel hopeless and desperate. He tried to focus on the present, to find a way out of this arboreous cannibalistic nightmare.

But every move he and Hunter made seemed to attract more of those ferocious cannibals and occasionally what they could best describe as mutants straight out of a horror movie. No matter the corner of the island they were exploring, those damned monsters were always lurking around, waiting for the soldiers to slip up, regarding them as nothing else but their next meal or ritualistic sacrifice. He had managed to avoid them so far, staying behind in the safety of their tiny wooden cabin, built with lots of sweat and blood on the first few days, waiting for Hunter to kill most of the monsters but he knew it was only a matter of time before they would catch him, despite all his training and physique, he still remained practically deaf, unable to detect the faintest sound of any danger approaching him. By now, he was able to notice loud noises directly next to him, but, despite this being a huge progress towards getting better, it would not nearly be enough to survive on his own as most of the sounds around him stayed utterly quiet. As the sun began to set, Kelvin let out a relieved sigh, acknowledging that he and his now best defender, he would even dare to call him a friend at this point, found a way to survive another day. He picked up his makeshift spear and headed towards the riverside. He felt like he had to contribute to their survival or at least to their dinner by catching one or two fish, to keep their strength and spirits up while the hunger remained at bay. Hunter clearly this nearly suicidal plan but he was out searching for a radio to call for help, otherwise he would definitely punch Kelvin in the face for leaving the cabin. The deaf soldier was almost sure that if he walked cautiously enough, trying to make as little fuzz as possible, he had a good chance of remaining off the grid. But suddenly, there was a rustling sound behind him, too faint for his damaged ears to detect but he could feel the presentimental shivers of something lurking in the shadows. He slowly turned around and saw a figure emerging from the bushes. It was a cannibal, with a sharpened sickel-shaped bone in hand, a wicked grin on his face and his mouth opening wide, a screech filling the air, loud enough even for Kelvin to register it. The soldier knew he had to fight, to protect himself because if Hunter would find his corpse, he'd surely revive him only to kill him again as punishment for not taking heed of his warnings. He raised his spear and charged towards the barely clothed human with the red painted skin, hoping, by a miracle, to luck out on this battle. The fight was brutal and despite Kelvin's slick blows, the cannibal ignored the pain, disregarding the bloody blows to its body while Kelvin's strength was slowly but surely fading due to the lack of nutrition and sleep. The cannibal was getting the upper hand by sheer determination to make a tasty meal out of the deaf soldier. And suddenly, Kelvin was shortly distracted by a branch brushing his arm, the panic of being outnumbered by another enemy appearing and while he jumped to avoid an attack, the cannibal managed to gash the left side of Kelvin's waist. The soldier executed a lethal blow to the cannibal's head at the same time, but as he felt the burning pain of his wound forced him to his knees and his eyes finally dared to glance at his hoodie soaking up with his blood, he shrilled and winced in despair and pain. In his mind, he already pictured himself bleeding out, alone, next to the riverbank, Hunter's warnings repeating themselves in an infinite loop, flooding his fading self with guilt. And when he felt his strength dwindling away as the sweet relief of the unconsciousness of an anemic body threatened to consume him entirely, his eyes played one last trick on him, tempting him into believing that Hunter and you knelt next to him, touching his face in a last attempt to keep him in the realm of the living.

"Yo Kel, I found the cube and someone who can get us out of here!", Hunter screamed darting towards the camp, his chest hurting from running all the way from the beach back.

He stopped abruptly in his tracks as he found the empty camp, fearing the worst at the sight of the open cabin door. He rushed inside only to find all their gear but still no trace of his deaf friend.

"Damn it, Kel", Hunter cursed to himself, running outside, frantically looking for any traces indicating where Kelvin could have left to.

A few meters ahead, he spotted a few broken branches on a smaller tree into the direction of the river. His mind shouted at him that Kelvin probably went fishing as they would still need a meal for tonight and it screamed even louder as the anger pushed through, reminding himself that he clearly forbade the soldier to head out on his own, given his disadvantage. Stupid stubborn idiot, it echoed through his mind as his feet carried him as fast as they could towards the river. He stopped in his tracks as the corpse of a cannibal appeared in between the bushes, a spear stuck in his eye socket. Hunter spurted past the corpse and feel to his knees, one hand cupping Kelvin's cheek while his other hand put pressure on the bleeding wound.

"Oh you idiot, don't you dare fucking die on me now!", he yelled with a trembling voice.

Kelvin whispered your name as his eyes were fixed on a spot next to hunter before they fell shut. Hunter ripped his t-shirt and wrapped it tightly around the wound, trying to keep the pressure up as he dragged Kelvin's body to their cabin.

"Don't you fucking die Kel! I'll bring you back home! Don't you fucking die!"

The invocation escaping his lips kept repeating themselves as if, by a miracle, they'd gain a magical power to conquer death if only evoked often enough. The other man, who introduced himself as Timmy, was already waiting at the cabin, a shocked expression locked on his face and he observed Hunter dragging his wounded friend through the bushes.

"He needs help, we need to get out of here now!", Hunter yelled at Timmy, not knowing what he exactly expected from the stranger.

Timmy helped him put Kelvin on the bed in the cabin, taking a bottle of vodka, a needle and a surgical threat out of his backpack.

"Keep him steady, I try what I can but I won't promise anything."

Timmy's voice was stern, Hunter couldn't detect any emotion in it, neither a hopeful nor a somber one as he lifted Kelvin's hoodie up before he fixed him by pressing his torso against the unconscious body underneath.

"Do what you can!", Hunter nodded at Timmy, trying to muster all the determination he could put to his shaking voice.

Alright folks! We have one week left on submissions for the Hot Vintage TV Men's Bracket! As promised here is a list of all the Hot Vintage TV Men who have been submitted and passed our preliminary eligibility checks. There are a handful of guys on this list and one or two not on it that we are currently still debating on so reminder that this list is not final and subject to change.

Also in advance of the competition I'd like to remind anyone submitting propaganda for someone that starred in a show that aired only partially during our timeframe or was under 18 for a part of a shows filming, to please make sure you are only submitting propaganda that is from within our timeframe and when the actor was 18 years or older. This is also just good to keep in mind in general as several people submitted actors for shows that aren't eligible for our tournament either because it was outside our time period or in one case the actor was underaged for the entirety of the show (though many were eligible for other shows they were submitted for). We do our best to screen for these things but sometimes it's hard to tell or it’s a show we don't personally know well enough so we appreciate help from y'all letting us know if you do catch anything.

The Chosen Ones and the War of Many

October 31st 1994. Harry James Potter’s name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, despite having been missing since October 31st 1981. But the Triwizard Tournament’s Magical Contract means he must compete or risk losing his magic. Here enters Hal Leblanc, an unassuming Gryffindor student known only for his protectiveness of his adoptive sister Rosie Leblanc, and Harry Potter in disguise. Raised by a hidden Sirius Black and hidden from Dumbledore in plain sight in Hogwarts, Hal must navigate through a deadly tournament, new offers of alliances and an unexpected discovery of a secret society older than Hogwarts herself.

The year is 1981 and a very different war is being fought. There is Lord Voldemort and the Knights of Walpurgis, advocating the Blood Supremacy and the annihilation of Non-Magicals. Opposing him openly is the Order of the Phoenix, lead by the so-called Leader of the Light, Albus Dumbledore. The Ministry of Magic is being being torn apart in the midst of Voldemort’s open warfare against Muggles and Dumbledore’s Guerrilla Tactics. But behind the scenes, another battle is being fought, by two opposing factions of an organization founded by Merlin himself, the Ouroboros Circle. Since the end of the Grindelwald War, the then younger Augusta Longbottom opposed the older Arcturus Black III.  Augusta stood for the Origins, relying on the old ways, keeping power with those who knew what to do with it and keeping the New Bloods separate from the Old Bloods to keep both pure. Arcturus differed, having seen the ideals Augusta believed in used to fuel Grindelwald. He felt while knowledge and respect of the old ways was important, Wizardkind needed to innovate and create new paths, power needed to be spread out so one single person could not control the rest and the New Bloods needed to learn the old ways to remain pure. Caught up in their own struggle for control, they missed Voldemort’s decisive grab for power.

Because of the Circle’s turmoils, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter decided against inducting James and his friends into their lifelong commitment to keep Wizardkind safe from those without magic and vice versa. Sirius never learned of their mission because his parents’ radical opinions meant Arcturus never brought his son into the fold, and was too distracted to induct Sirius. When Albus sought new members for his organization, they were free to join and in doing so became enemies of Voldemort.

But James and Sirius know as purebloods of influential families that there is something influencing this war other than the obvious. When tensions rise in the Order due to rumours of a spy, they stage a break up to assess the reactions of others, drawing the other Marauders into their fallout without telling them anything. Their suspicions means Dumbledore’s suggestion of a Fidelius Charm falls on deaf ears. The prophecy is enough to worry all the Marauders, convincing Peter he was right to defect to the Dark Lord.  

Regulus, more cautious than his brother and less radical than his parents was a little more discreet than he might have been in another world. His discovery of Voldemort‘s Locket Horcrux came at the same time he heard rumours of Voldemort‘s other ‘priceless treasures’ and he remained at the Dark Lord’s side to find out the truth.

Frank Longbottom had joined the Circle in his Hogwarts years, but before he even knows to warn her, Alice follows her Gryffindor roommates Lily Potter nee Evans, Marlene McKinnon, and Mary MacDonald to Dumbledore’s Order of the Phoenix. As they were engaged to be married, Frank joins the Order with the intention to spy on them for the Circle and tell Alice the truth of his allegiance once he is certain of her occlumancy skills. Unfortunately, this never happens.

October 31st 1981. Voldemort decides to go after Neville Longbottom as only a pureblood could oppose him in his mind. He gets the secret of his location from Frank Longbottom, whom he killed leaving the ministry after planning to go into hiding after hearing the prophecy from Dumbledore. Voldemort found found Neville silently, casting the killing curse before Alice awoke, but the curse rebounded, killing Voldemort instead. A frantic Alice and Neville is found by Augusta, who shares enough Circle knowledge that remaining in the Wizarding World where Dumbledore’s influence will only grow after Voldemort’s defeat is dangerous for Neville and urges Alice to flee to the Muggle world.

Desperate for a sacrificial hero, Dumbledore goes to the Potters, only to find James and Lily unconscious from overexposure to the Crucio Curse and Harry gone. It is discovered that it was Sirius Black who took Harry and Albus assumes it was on the Dark Lord’s orders. But a Ministry search can not find either Sirius or Harry.

So Neville Longbottom is named the Boy-Who-Lived, lost to the Wizarding World and Harry Potter an unfortunate victim to the Dark Lord’s minions.

But the Members of the Nights of Walpurgis, known by the young as Death Eaters, know that Sirius Black was not on their side. However, they cannot prove so with their Master gone and they bribe their way out of Azkaban to watch and wait for an opportunity to strike next.

Because they were not caught during their attack on the Potters, Bellatrix, Rodolphous and Rebastan Lestrange escape Azkaban with Barry Crouch Jr. Bellatrix and Rodolphous have a son but are caught a few years later attacking the Weasleys for information on the Dark Lord. Rigel Raban Lestrange was left to his uncle Rebastan’s care. He would later be sorted into Slytherin to no one’s surprise.

Molly Weasley was killed in the attack, leaving a mourning Arthur and seven young children. The children’s Great Uncle and Aunt, Ignatius and Lucretia Prewett came to help with the younger children, leading to an improved Burrow and closer familiar ties. In a Light family, Percy surprised everyone and no one who knew him by being sorted into Slytherin, having clung to his Great Aunt after the attack and learning some of her Black Ways. It would surprise no one when Ron was sorted into Ravenclaw, and Ginny into Hufflepuff.

After Voldemort’s disappearance, Regulus knew it would not last and, lacking any other options, went to his Grandfather. Both Arcturus and Regulus were surprised by the resulting conversation, Arcturus because he would never have believed Voldemort’s insanity in splitting his soul and wondering how he had missed the signs and Regulus because of the secret organization his Grandfather was a part of, trying to prevent abominations like this from occurring. Having risen to a stable position in the Dark Lord’s inner circle, Regulus reluctantly agreed to remain close to the other former Death Eaters while trying to find out the exact number and locations of the Horcruxes. With Sirius missing, on the run and supposedly kicked out of the family by their parents, Regulus remained the Black Heir. He married a fellow Slytherin Lucinda Talkalot pureblood and they had three children, rare in the Wizarding World. Arista Melania Black, Alcyone Cassiopeia Black, and Leonis Orion Black were all Slytherin and would break tradition by allowing Arista the Black Heirship despite having a younger brother. Although he kept his wife in the dark about his true allegiance, Regulus would eventually tell his children after trying to prepare them growing up. Even so, Lucinda definitely knew he wasn’t as firm a believer in the Dark Lord’s ways as others would believe.

Peter Pettigrew on the other hand had the opposite problem as Regulus. Having followed the Dark Lord in secret, he didn’t have to hide when Voldemort vanished. His relationship with others in the Order of the Phoenix was strained however, because of all the secrets he kept in the war and he found himself surprisingly joined by Barry Crouch Jr. in looking for a way to bring the Dark Lord back. However, as suspicions arose about what he was up to, Peter married a weak-willed Hufflepuff Maria Boyle and the two had a son, Timothy. But Maria would eventually leave Peter, taking Timothy with her, because of their differences and his secret obsession with the dark arts. During the few visits he got with his son, Peter impressed the knowledge of something greater than the Light to him, leaving behind a dark seed. Timothy Peter Boyle would go on to be a Hufflepuff and a supporter of not only the pureblood ideals but Voldemort himself.

Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. But their two children were not. Not saddled with an unwanted freak, Petunia and Vernon gave Dudley a younger sister named Peony, and when both ended up displaying signs of magic at a young age, Petunia realized she could live her childhood dream through her children. Luckily, their neighbour, Mrs. 7 Privet Drive also known as Mrs. Eleanore Martins had a sister ‘in-the-know’ Emmeline Vance. Emmeline helped keep the Dursley children’s magic manageable, taught the Dursley’s what they needed to know about the Wizarding World, and became a well known friend of the family. However Emmeline was also a spy, not once but twice over. Emmeline’s squib sister Eleanore had been placed at Privet Drive to give cover for Emmeline to watch over the Dursley family by Albus Dumbledore, having both feared the Dark Lord’s followers - namely Sirius Black - might come after them for the relation to Harry Potter and Lily Potter nee Evans. But Emmeline had another allegiance. A few years younger than the future Alice Longbottom, she was tutored by Alice and protected from other student who mocked her for having a squib sibling. When Alice disappeared with Neville after Voldemort’s downfall, she went to Emmeline for help on navigating the muggle world. In return, Emmeline learned about Augusta’s suspicions about Albus and agreed to help both Longbottoms in their quest to protect Neville. Knowing Alice meant Emmeline knew Lily and from Lily, knew of Petunia and agreed to help Augusta keep an eye on Lily’s extended family. After seeing her devotion and her increasing suspicions on Dumbledore herself, Augusta inducted Emmeline into the Origins Chapter of the Ouroboros Circle. Thus, Dudley and Peony learned of more than Albus may have wanted them to know about the politics of the Wizarding World. Dudley would go into Gryffindor and Peony in Hufflepuff.

Draco Malfoy would grow up with not only other Death Eater children as playmates but pureblood cousins as well. Being the oldest of the Black cousins, he believed himself his younger cousins’ protector. With this experience, and with his Uncle Regulus’ teachings, Draco learns discretion and subtlety as well as how to evaluate his father’s words. The Draco who comes to Hogwarts is a quieter Slytherin, at the top of the food chain for his year, but second to his cousin Arista. When rumours of the Dark Lord’s expected return reach him, he is given the choice to spy on his peers or be granted protection, not by the Light, but by the Drake Chapter of the Ouroboros Circle by Uncle Regulus. He chooses the first,  never having completely rid himself of his Gryffindor tendency to do reckless things.

Born before the Fall of the Dark Lord, Draco’s godfather was his father’s close friend in Voldemort’s inner circle, Severus Snape. But after realizing that by telling the Dark Lord the beginning of the prophecy had put Lily in danger, Severus regretted his actions. But the one he went to was not Dumbledore. He went to Lily herself, to beg forgiveness for everything he had done in the past and that he would like to help in any way he could. She of course forgave him, always having mourned their past relationship as siblings, especially with Petunia pushing her away. Without consulting James, she repeated the godfather ceremony, giving Harry a second godfather. With this bond, there was no way Severus would be able to cause harm to Harry without risking his own life. Forgiven, Severus went to Albus, seeking help but keeping his arrangement with Lily a secret. But Albus wanted Severus to continue to work with the Dark Lord, as a spy, claiming passing on information the best repentance there could be. When Voldemort asked his inner circle their opinions on which child could be the one in the prophecy, Severus could only say Neville, his bond to Harry preventing him from causing harm even in this indirect way, despite dooming another child. But the spy in the Order condemned him, as Severus didn’t know who the spy was but the spy had discovered Severus and told the Dark Lord. Severus was imprisoned  and tortured by his former allies, including the father of his other godchild, Lucius Malfoy. It was luck for him that Voldemort disappeared that night, causing the wards around the manor to fall and Aurors resume him from death. Severus was revealed to have been Dumbledore’s spy in the ranks of the Dark Lord, and protected from legal prosecutions. He mourned for Lily because despite not being completely dead, her mind was unlikely to recover, same as with James. When Albus offered him a job at Hogwarts teaching potions, he nearly refused, but was convinced due to easier access to the potions ingredients he would need to search for a cure for Lily. Becoming Slytherin head of house was something no one wanted, not him, nor the other teachers, nor his students. The Slytherins felt he could betray them like he betrayed their parents, even those who didn’t believe in the Dark Lord’s ideology. But what Albus wanted, Albus got.

Which is why it was so frightening when Severus discovered Albus’ search for the Deathly Hallows, even more so when he realized only the stone was missing.

Two boys switched places that October night, not because of a whim but many many happenings.

Neville Longbottom grew up with his mother Alice in the middle of Muggle London. Along with Emmeline’s help, Alice found help from Remus Lupin, or rather, they helped each other. Remus knew more about the muggle world than Alice, and helped her settle down in a small bookshop and flat. He had become disillusioned with Albus when he realized Albus was doing nothing to keep the Marauders from tearing each other apart, as it appeared James and Sirius were doing. Others in the Order had feared Remus for the curse he bore and Albus had also done nothing to stop it. When his school year girlfriend turned mutual platonic friend Emmeline come to Remus looking for help for Alice and Neville with the need to keep it secret from Albus, Remus agreed. Alice herself had needed another person around, someone to help keep an eye on Neville and the shop while she was busy with the other. She had never minded Remus, a distant cousin of hers had had the same affliction as many a pureblood could trace in their lines, and his gentle nature reminded her of Frank. It was also a miracle she had gotten through those months without Remus, so distraught with the loss of her husband and the only life she had ever known. Over time they became closer, not romantically - for Alice felt she would never forget her love for Frank - but as close as a brother and sister. Soon, Alice claimed Lupin as her maiden name, both to protect her and Neville and as a lifeline of family. Augusta was not too far however, visiting during holidays when she could claim the loss of her family as reason enough not to host holiday parties and to remain secluded from society when not required to be present for Wizengomot sessions. She brought both Alice and Remus into the Circle, impressing them with the knowledge that there was more at stake than Light and Dark. Neville also got training, having been told about the prophecy and a meddling old fool. He would still tremble when he put the Sorting Hat on his head, but this time with the weight of more than just an old woman’s expectations that he follows in his father’s footsteps. He would be placed in a very different and exactly the same Gryffindor house. But this time, with a friendship already formed. Attending a muggle school, Neville recognized the signs of accidental magic. He was unsurprised to find bullies, who scattered upon seeing him. Only their victim was left, a young girl his own age. Hermione Granger. So clever and brave, she would leap into Gryffindor after her longtime friend Neville.

In his seventh year of Hogwarts, Sirius Black found himself growing up just a little. He had flirted with the girls of Hogwarts almost since he had arrived in first year, had chased girls and been chased, but this time, he felt something different. He, Sirius Black, has a crush on a girl. It may have been because of James and Lily’s recent relationship but all of the Marauders found themselves spending more time with the Gryffindor girls. And now, Sirius was developing an attraction to one of Lily’s best friends, Marlene McKinnon. For months they danced around each other, oblivious to the obviousness of their attraction to each other to everyone except themselves. But when they were going to graduate and the war was suddenly real for them, they disagreed on what should be done. Sirius wanted to take Marlene and run off, keep her safe and out of the war but she would have none of it. She would not be helpless and protected while her friends were in danger and she joined them in the Order of the Phoenix. Their on-again-off-again relationship was off as they both did what they could and tried to forget each other. Finally, they got caught up in the war and stopped the longing touches in the private moments of Order meetings. Sirius and James were staging their fight, hurting Lily because she didn’t understand what could have come between them. After Harry was born, she finally got them to sit still in the same room and got a garbled telling of their plan to rat out the spy, and that was why even though they were still going to pretend to be fighting, they wanted Sirius as Harry’s godfather. Lily was silent, she had met with Severus the day before and maybe this would work out for them all? She agreed, Sirius was bonded to Harry as his godfather and he left, feeling elated and suddenly missing the company of the woman he loved. He met with Marlene and they took the night for each other before she revealed she was going back to her family home to help out for a while. It was all Sirius could do to watch her leave and all he could do to comfort Lily as news of the attack on the McKinnon’s family home was reported with no survivors. They cried together into the night. When Sirius got wind of Voldemort’s attack on Frank Longbottom, he feared for Harry. He had just calmed James and Lily down and gone up to check on his sleeping godson when the Lestrange’s attacked. He heard James cry for Sirius to take Harry and run and the need to protect Harry won over his desire to help his brother in all but blood. He ran.

Only later did he find out that Voldemort was gone and he himself was declared an enemy for kidnapping and possibly killing Harry Potter and his parents. Without options, he hid from the Wizarding World before coming to the realization only one person had the political power to help him. Reluctantly, Sirius returned to Black Manor to find help from his grandfather, only to be stunned by what he found inside.

Marlene McKinnon had discovered she was pregnant four weeks after her night with Sirius. Fearing her unborn child and remembering what he wanted to do when they were about to graduate, she secretly left her family home, planning to make arrangements before springing the news on Sirius. But when her family was attacked and killed, she suddenly found herself at a loss. When Sirius was declared a follower of the Dark Lord a short time later, Marlene did the only thing she could think of, seek refuge from the great grandfather of her unborn child. Arcturus had been surprisingly welcome when she arrived on his doorstep, listening to her story before granting her request. She could stay in the Black Manor until they came up with a plan of what to do with Sirius’ child. When Sirius himself turned up with Harry Potter in tow, Arcturus once again had to rethink his plans. Hearing for the first time about the prophecy and connecting it with the knowledge Regulus had just recently shared about Voldemort’s immortality, Arcturus knew Harry needed to be protected. Neville Longbottom has disappeared and someone was going to have to defeat the Dark Lord. So the three adults made a plan.

Members of the Drake chapter of the Ouroboros Circle, Marlene and Sirius adopted the surname of a Black branch family in France and moved their with Harry and their newborn, Rosemary Aelia. They gave Harry a nickname based off his full name Harold Jame Potter, for they knew he would one day attend Hogwarts and didn’t want to give up the game too quick. When a chance meeting between Regulus and Severus revealed Severus’ secret status as Harry’s other godfather, Severus was granted knowledge of their location so he could also aid them on their quest. This was how Arcturus learned of Albus’ obsession with the Hallows. Knowing this was part of why the Circle was founded in the first place, they tried to find a way to keep the Stone away from Albus and protect Harry. He grew up loved with his father Sirius, mother Marlene and sister Rosie, despite knowing he was adopted he loved them like a real family. He learned of the politics in the United Kingdom and what role he might one day play in the not yet over war. When given the choice though on whether or not to attend Hogwarts, he knew he would go, for it was o my a matter of time before they found him anyways. But they wouldn’t make it easy for their enemies. So, in 1991, a famous newly emerged Neville Longbottom the Boy-Who-Lived was joined in Gryffindor by one unassuming Hal Leblanc.
