RIP Timmy Matley

Three days ago on this day lead singer (one of 5) of the British 5-piece harmony band, The Overtones, died on the 11th April at the age of 36 from skin cancer. I openly admit I wasn’t a major fan of the group but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy their music. The British music has lost another talented singer and my condolences go out to both his friends, family, fans and the other remaining…

Overtones singer Timmy Matley dies aged 36

Timmy Matley, the lead singer of The Overtones, has died aged 36, the band have confirmed.

The singer, from Cork, was diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma – a form of skin cancer – in 2016.

Matley’s agent said the singer “died suddenly” on Monday – the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Hi guys, as some of you know I am a big fan of The Overtones 😍, but did you also know that one member a Mr Timmy Matley was last year diagnosed with skin cancer :( but is thankfully, thanks to treatment now showing no signs of the disease... And to help raise money for the wonderful Royal Marsden hospital so that more people like Timmy can survive one of the biggest killers in the world today, he is doing a 15000ft skydive (braver than me) and I thought that here at Wicked Creations I would do my bit and donate some money to his cause by holding a small auction for a couple of makes for you lovely people to bid on.. The Overtones hold a special place in my heart because their music can always bring a smile to my face. I have great memories of touring around the Lake District for 3 days with my Mum with The Overtones CDs as the soundtrack and we didn’t argue once - just sang along and looked at all the sights. Timmy has such a recognisable voice and from interviews he had such a wonderful personality. Sending love to his bandmates, family and friends at this terrible time
