It is a once rare sight that seems to be becoming much more common these days — three Elyosian royals, representatives of their home, united and together. There is something warm that settles in Ivy’s chest as she sits elbow-to-elbow with Solm and Firene’s future queen and king. She still remembers when they were enemies — by the grace of the Divine One that they are now something akin to friends.

Staring at the jewels before her — the aptly named Goddess’s Tears — makes her wish their little set of heirs were complete. Diamant sure would have much to say about the stones before them. Ivy watches light reflect and refract upon its facets, wondering what the artisans home in Elusia would make of it.

Timerra picks up of the gem, holding it out before her, comparing it to Alfred, then Ivy. 

“Appraising us for some jewelry, Princess Timerra?” she asks, a small smile dancing on her lips; vaguely, she is reminded of the games Hortensia so liked to play with her in their youth. “The blue color is spectacular; its beauty truly shines when it catches the sunlight.”

Ivy leans forward to inspect the stone further. “I’d say the blue suits you quite nicely as well. The way it glimmers resembles your eyes so strikingly.” Her eyebrows quirk up; a sudden idea strikes her.

“The Academy’s ball is just on the horizon. Perhaps we all try a hand at fashioning a piece for each other?”

Give him a levin sword, use Tiki to equip HP boosters and regen abilities, use Corrin for the same reasons BUT also Sword Focus

Just beat Engage and have some thoughts. 

Pros: 

-The gameplay and maps are fantastic, such a good step away from 3H’s Wyvern spam for your units, and overall meh map designs. 

-The characters, while mostly pretty shallow, are still fun for me. Standouts include: Yunaka, Alcryst, Ivy, and Celine when she’s not talking about tea. 

-Music’s fantastic, as per usual. All the trial paralogue songs are great remixes. and Brodia and Solm’s battle themes in particular are real good.

Cons:

-The story’s... fine, I guess. It’s very by the books, bog standard which can be disappointing to those coming off of 3H’s more nuanced and gray story (minus TWISTD of course). I will say, it picks up steam after chapter 10, but even still it’s never great, just servicable.

-Unit balance is weird, especially on Maddening mode. The early game units have such a hard time keeping up with units you get later that it’s hard to justify using them. The easiest example I can think of for this is poor Lapis. Not only is she already competing against your Alear for sword user, but Diamant is introduced in literally the very next chapter, and two chapters after that you get Kagetsu.

-Lack of shared endings for non S-supported units fucking sucks dude. Hopefully they add this later on in an update, but as of right now it’s pretty sad that the relationships I spent the whole game building up don’t lead to anything.

My final team was: Alear (Byleth), Framme (Micaiah), Louis (Sigurd), Chloe (Roy), Yunaka (Corrin), Ivy (Lyn), Fogato (Leif), Timmera (Ike),  Anna (Lucina), Pendreo, the last two characters (Marth on V), Seadall (Celica), and Mirran (Eirika).

Make a tier list for engage would be tricky to do. 1. Personal skill mostly garbage in maddening. I think they nerfed the personal skill too much.

2. Units value mostly then reduced into stats and when we got them (also growth but it less important than base stat).

3.Lord classes promotion just an upgraded version of the advance classes like hero, sniper, halbeider (idk how to spell this one), and bow knight. Despite exclusive ability like sol, luna, and sandstrom, they are not enough to push Diamant Alcryst, and Timmera into top A tier eince their base stats are quite low. Ivy and Hortensia are much better and unique with flying tome + staff utility. Also magic is more reliable to chip damage than physical attack.

(Imo For lords in order :Ivy > Hortensia > Alcryst (bow is more unique than swords) > Diamant = Timmera > Fogado > Celine > Alfred. Firrene lords are the worst since we get them early and maddening fixed means their stats are not going to be great)

4. The most difficult factor is emblem. if we cannot exclude emblem when tiering unit, the interaction between unit and emblem can obsolete the tier list. Argument about mid unit like Lapis was better than Diamant would often happen when player gave Lyn's ring to Lapis and Leif's to Diamant. Also the opposite effect happened when Lyn+Diamant > Leif+Lapis. The unit performance then depends on emblem than their actual capability. So it would make tier list more complex when emblem was take account to tiering units.

5. My conclusion it is not worth to tiering units since their value mostly just stats, timing, and growth (with exception unique classes like dragon, dancer, and exclusive flying mage+staff).Once they got the good ring like Lyn, corrin, 3h, tiki, byleth, sigurd etc then they would be good enough even in maddening. I would say emblem tier list is much important than unit tier list.

6. The absolute S-tier unit is seadall and emblem byleth also S-tier. no debate.

FEH Banner thoughts - 16/9/24

Ooh, the Solm banner!

I'm really surprised that Merrin's a sword unit and not a dagger one. Either way, when I get her I'll be able to make the "Cool vs Cute" AR Defense I've been planning for a while. Her weapon making her function like Chrom's or Lucina's alts is cool is it not?.

Timmera's build is going to make her incredibly annoying to fight, much like Emblem Ike and Brave Alfonse. Even more so if she's alongside those two.

To me, Aided Heroes just feel like they added a new Hero category for the sake of doing so. I won't say no to more stats for Soleil though.

Marni being the GHB here means that Griss is a shoe-in for the next Engage banner. This one being a Solm one was obvious, so I wonder what the next one is. Maybe a Lythos one with Vander, Clanne, Framme and an Alear alt but it could also be a "misc. Heroes" one with the likes of Lythos units, Yunaka, Jean, Anna and/or any retainers that missed out earlier. Or maybe even a Fell Xenologue banner, which I assume would have Nel, Madeline, Zelestia and Gregory with a Nil GHB.

Rosado's on the Heroes with Bonfire banner and mine is at +8, but I want to get at least 3 characters from the New Heroes banner and I don't have quite enough Orbs to do both. Rosado has to stay at +8 for now.
