Ace Attorney: Trials in Paradise 🌅

— an AA7 fan concept —

Initial Premise:

Since it’s designed for the Switch 2 (and thus made for a larger screen), the game will almost always have 2-3 characters on screen at a time, and will feature dozens of unique interaction animations between all sorts of character combos.

There has been another 7 year timeskip.

The old judge retired, and the new judge is his granddaughter!

The jurist system is featured.

This concept is heavily based around these designs.

The characters would have multiple outfits throughout the game, which become unlockable costumes, much like the DLC costumes of DD, SoJ, and TGAA games.

While this is way too specific to truly be a "prediction" of what aa7 could be, I tried to keep it (mostly) realistic to what I thought could actually be in an ace attorney game!

📦 Case 1: Turnabout Homecoming

Trucy left the nest and Phoenix doesn’t like living alone anymore, so Phoenix is moving into Edgeworth’s house. Apollo— who recently got his driver's license— was driving the moving van, and was accused because a body had been found in the vehicle. The true killer was one of the movers. I like the idea that you'd have to look through boxes for evidence, maybe the murder weapon was hidden within their belongings.

🎢 Case 2: Rollercoaster Turnabout

Maya and Pearl are on vacation at Blue Badger Land. Pearl is accused of murder after a body is found on an unpopular attraction that only Pearl enjoys going on. As an aside, Gumshoe is retired from detective work, and now works as a dog trainer. He trained Armando's service dog, Spot O'Coffee. Wendy Oldbag also serves as a witness, but she's pretty old at this point. Her memory has become fuzzy with age, and her testimonies begin to mix up information from other trials (which will be little references to previous games).

💍 Case 3: My Love, Turnabout

Klavier has arranged a collab performance between Trucy and Lamiroir. Hugh Dini, Trucy's assistant and boyfriend, is accused when his stunt double is found dead. Hugh is very cagey about his alibi, but it's because he was planning to propose and didn't want Trucy to know yet. Franziska takes this and spins it into a jealousy plot, and insinuates he killed his stunt double out of envy. Because Hugh is actually pretty shy, he has a habit of not speaking up, which only incriminates him further. A twist in the case is revealed during a cross-examination when it turns out the "gold band" the witness is referring to wasn't Hugh's engagement ring, but instead about a gold bangle. This immediately puts Apollo under suspicion, until Phoenix drops a hint that someone else (Lamiroir) has a gold bracelet as well. The truth about Trucy and Apollo's sibling relationship is revealed when Athena finds an unexpected emotion in Phoenix's mood matrix, and Lamiroir decides it’s time to break the news.

🏝️ Case 4: The Getaway

This one isn’t a traditional case.

After Manfred Von Karma divorced his first wife, Bianka, he moved to Europe, and his previous home was left uninhabited until his eldest daughter, Karla Von Karma, discovers she has inherited it. She decides to turn the beachside property into a bed & breakfast, and invites her half-sister Franziska and adoptive brother Edgeworth to give the manor a trial run and let her know if it’s suitable for visitors. Edgeworth brings along Wright Anything Agency, because… why not treat them to a break?

But of course, their vacation quickly takes a turn when they find a literal skeleton in the closet.

Not all of the rooms in the estate had been searched. Manfred’s study has a large, padlocked safe, and Karla hadn’t gotten around to hiring a locksmith to open it for her. Phoenix tries “0001” for the hell of it, and the only thing more surprising than that combination successfully opening the safe is the body folded up inside.

They can’t imagine the killer was anyone other than Manfred Von Karma, but— since he’s already been executed— they’re not sure if a trial even needs to be held. They need to investigate the situation to determine with absolute certainty it was, in fact, Von Karma, because otherwise they’d need to find a new suspect. Obviously, the group of criminal justice lawyers aren’t not going to get to the bottom of it.

Except Apollo, who has decided he wants nothing to do with solving the murder. He came on this trip for a vacation, dammit, and that's exactly what he's gonna do. He heads back outside to the beach, and leaves everyone else to the investigation.

The first mystery is figuring out when the murder happened. The police arrive, and Ema estimates that the remains are about 30-40 years old, which is around the time the Von Karma family moved out. Since Manfred & Bianka had divorced in 1999, they start to wonder if Manfred had even still been residing here when the murder took place, but the body is found with a train ticket dated for January of 2002. A time period that just so happens to line up with the one singular vacation Manfred took during his entire career— to recover from a gunshot wound that he couldn’t even trust a doctor with knowing about.

The body is wearing a housekeeper's uniform, and they identify her as Ophelia Falsch. They conclude that she was killed because she had discovered Manfred’s injury, and he wanted to eliminate the witness. They think they have the case over and done with, but then Ema comes back with the dental analysis. She explains there was no dental record of an "Ophelia Falsch", but the teeth did match Bianka Von Karma.

This raises some questions. Why was Bianka dressed as Ophelia? Was there a more personal reason Manfred could have killed his ex-wife? Could Ophelia have been involved as well?

Since the murder happened so long ago, they don't even know where to begin with finding witnesses. Karla was 18 at the time of the murder, and had just moved out, so she wasn't present. Edgeworth, of all people, is the one to suggest an unconventional idea: why not ask Von Karma himself?

The manor is in a remote location that's only accessible by train or boat, and since it's late, Maya won't be able to get there until the next morning. In the meantime, they check up on Apollo, only to find him getting scolded by a woman about having his chair on the beach. She explains that she's Karla's daughter, Angelika Von Karma, and that she's impassioned about marine ecology. She just discovered the beach had become a nesting site for an endangered species of sea turtles, and is worried about disrupting it.

The next morning, Maya arrives, and Phoenix and Edgeworth hold a mock trial in the foyer. Manfred is channeled, but is uncooperative, so they try... a different method. Phoenix and Edgeworth perform a reenactment of how they think the murder happened, while Trucy and Athena watch Manfred to see if they can glean any information based on his reactions.

Manfred breaks down and confesses to the murder, but is telling the truth when he says that he didn't know the victim was Bianka; he did, in fact, think he had killed a housekeeper who found out about his gunshot wound. After this, his spirit is released.

As puzzling as this is— who was Ophelia, anyway?— they can't do anymore investigating because Karla has become very upset. The whole ordeal has caused long-repressed emotions to resurface. She's always felt a little bit resentful towards Franziska because their father left Bianka for Franziska's mother, Levina, and always felt like she had her family taken from her. On top of that, Manfred had done everything he could to get full custody of Karla in the divorce, and she never saw her mother again. She's angry that that wasn't enough— he'd gone and killed her too.

Karla and Franziska get into a big fight, and the whole trip ends up cancelled.

🚂 Case 5: Turnabout Train Car

They all board the train to head home. The mood is really awkward and it's kind of a bummer. Since the train is only way out of the area, Karla has to board as well, albeit in another car.

And because nothing is ever easy, there’s a murder on the train.

The victim was the owner of the train, Diesel Porter. He was found in his private sleeping room, and the only other room on that train car was being occupied by Karla, so naturally, she is accused.

Since Ema and the police are already on the train, they’re able to take control of the situation until the train makes it back to town. The Wright Anything Agency isn’t allowed to investigate the crime scene much, so they opt to interrogate the other odd passengers.

They get a helpful tip from the train’s bartender that Cole Porter, son of Diesel Porter, had been making plans to build a resort. They also find out that the train company had been losing money, since they weren’t getting many passengers.

The next day in court, Phoenix claims Cole killed his father to inherit the company, but Cole denies it because, why would he want to inherit a dying company? And Phoenix turns it around by bringing up the resort plans and how he wanted to build it on Karla’s property. He couldn’t just kill Karla, because then they’d have to take care of Angelika and Franziska too, so they needed Karla to feel like she had no choice but to sell it.

The trial goes to recess and Cole is apprehended for questioning, but at that moment they get word that someone else has just been murdered on the train— the bartender from before.

Phoenix goes back to the train investigate and boards when it’s stopped on the mountaintop station. While he’s investigating the train’s caboose, Cole’s wife, Electra, detaches it from the rest of the train. Cole and his wife were in cahoots! Phoenix is sent hurtling backwards down the mountain in the runaway car, and manages to pull the emergency brake just before reaching the bottom. He’s ended up back by the manor, and calls to have a boat sent to pick him up.

While he waits, he finds Angelika is still here studying the turtles. She gives him permission to go inside the manor again to investigate. He finds the deed to the house, along with an old photo that has a letter written on the back. It’s addressed to Bianka from Levina (Franziska’s mother).

The case is solved when Phoenix proves that both Cole & Electra Porter were involved in the murders. The land becomes protected by the government in order to keep the sea turtles safe, since they are endangered.

After the trial, Phoenix shows Karla and Franziska the letter he’d found. It turns out Levina hired Bianka as a housekeeper under the alias “Ophelia” so that she could still see her daughter Karla. The photo depicts a teenage Karla playing with a baby Franziska. Levina and Bianka had a good relationship, and had made efforts to keep their families together.

Karla and Franziska apologize to each other, and agree to get along better.

💃 (DLC) Case 6: Turnabout Runway

Klavier has been invited as a guest judge for a fashion tv competition. He invites Pearl (and Apollo) to the shooting as an apology for accusing her for murder & because of their shared interest in fashion. "Lip sync for your life" but literally.

ok yesterday on Twitter I saw someone talk about how there was an official 3D models for Franziska in an Ace Attorney slot machine game, so I looked it up cuz I wanted to know more about it and then I see a video of someone playing it and there’s??? A 3D model??? Of Gumshoe?!??!?

So far I’ve only found 3 (unique) moments where’s it’s used but hopefully there’s more 🙏🙏

and then I got more curious and started watching some videos of this person playing the slot machine game, and then I realized that are a lot of characters that never appeared after the original trilogy, who have their own 3D models in this thing, like there’s a 3D model of Godot, and one of Dee Vasquez, and of Luke Atmey, and of Furio Tigre, and Mini Mimey, and the Steel Samurai/Evil Magistrate, and Von Karma, and maybe there’s more, idk, but I haven’t seen any other than these (aside from the main characters, obviously)

there are also models of younger Ema, younger Pearl, Larry before the timeskip, and Mia using Maya’s body

they also recreated some of the locations, and various segments with 2D animation (I can’t tell if it’s done by the same studio that did the anime adaptation, but if it isn’t, then I’m guessing they were given the character references and designs since they look extremely similar)

they also did a segment for Rise from the Ashes in the anime style, when they didn’t adapt that case in the actual anime

now, I think my biggest question after looking at all of this is: what the fuck was the budget for this????

like having to make all these 3D models and sets, a lot of whom barely appear, recreating the soundtrack and animating so many scenes, for a slot machine??? Really???

I know this probably wasn’t Capcom themselves making all these models and animation, they more than likely sourced that out to other studios

I’m just amazed that there was so much so find here, and there might be more, idk, I haven’t watched every video about this thing

I just opened an Ace Attorney fic for the first time in months and immediately knew how to make it EVEN ANGSTIER this is wonderful (Extreme spoilers for game 2 and on!!)

So this fic is an AU of Bridge to the Turnabout but in the canon of the Engarde bad end. The big things that have happened in the 6 year timeskip in-between then and the story: Phoenix ran away and ended up apprenticing under Elise Deauxnim instead of Larry, changed his name to Nickolas Deauxnim, and started working as a children’s book artist (because everyone Maya knows either dies or does that). Maya decided to go to college and become a defense attorney pretty much out of guilt for what happened, got through it, and is now the Kurain Master and a lawyer at the same time. Godot woke up from his coma the same time as canon, found out that any sort of revenge was unobtainable, and defaulted on his main reason for living, keeping Maya safe. He becomes her mentor and keeps her from having an emotional breakdown too massive, it’s wholesome and they’re family now. Pearl hangs around as much as she can, basically taking over the role as assistant, and so she’s also family with her and Godot at this point and most people who know Maya know Pearl. Alright.

I just realized there is extreme untapped potential for the level of angst I could give Pearl. See, Pearl is 14 now. She fully understands that her mother is a bad person, and she fully understands what her mother has done to get her in jail. Her mother helped to kill a man. Worse, her mother helped kill a man in order to ruin Maya’s life in a way that would have directly benefitted Pearl. She killed a man for Pearl. Therefore, she killed a man because of Pearl. 

This has been messing with Pearl for a while. So when Morgan tells her to bring Maya over to the temple, it makes her horribly anxious instead of excited to finally make her mother happy. Worse, Pearl can read now, and reading about “bringing vengeance to fruition” rings a bunch of alarm bells. But she’s scared of her mother. So she takes Maya to the temple, but doesn’t follow any of the letters, and at the last second asks to train instead of Maya, because the pit in her gut is too large to ignore.

Things play out close to exactly how they did before. The same person dies and the same person kills. 

And in her eyes, Pearl has directly caused the death and ruin of two more people. Two more people that meant everything to Maya.

Of course, everyone reassures her, and Maya still loves her. But it weighs on her so badly. This could actually be a really good bonding moment between her and Maya. In this AU, after all, Maya holds onto Adrian Andrews the exact same way Pearl holds onto Turner Grey, Misty, and Diego. They’ve both been pawns causing pain and destruction in ways they never wanted by forces entirely outside of their control.

-You were in the gallery during his trial, you knew Phoenix would never kill some like that 

-You were honestly at the edge of your seat the whole time and oh boy you were relieved that he got a not guilty verdict 

-After the trial you were walking to congratulate him on escaping by a slither 

-You walked up to him and congratulated him and thanked Mia for getting him out of trouble 

-As you 3 sat on the sofa of and started chatting 

" You know I'll take some law classes so I can be a great lawyer!"

-Timeskip to present day you found yourself quite in the predicament 

-It happened so fast you still are registering what occurred but here you were in the detection center because you were accused of murder 

-Before you could wonder how or why you were framed you heard 2 people walking in, a blue suited gentleman and a black haired girl besides him 

-Looks up at the gentleman's you immediately recommend who it was and so did he when he got a good look of your face 

" PHOENIX!?" You shouted " _____!?" Phoenix shouted back leaving the black haired girl confused 

-" Do you know each other?" The girl who later introduced herself as Maya asked " Uh yeah they were a friend of mine during university " he explained scratching his neck "Sooo why are you here" you asked curious until you notice the badge on his chest " Wait don't tell me are you here to?" You trail looking at him " yeah I am I can't let you sit here by yourself with a murder accusation up your sleeve " he said looking determined " So you were serious back then when you sold you'll be lawyer huh" you say reminiscing about old times

-Phoenix was surprised that you remembered such a silly thing from years ago but he cracked a smile but before he could say anything he was interrupted 

 " hate the cut the sweet moments bit we came here to ask questions " Maya said pouting " Oh yeah I guess that's true please tell us what happened " Phoenix asked getting all serious " Right" you say before explaining the situation 

-You were surprised by his skills in court even if he had some silly and embarrassing moments but that was just the Phoenix you knew and you were glad you got to see him again 

-After the trial you 2 met up and started talking, it felt nostalgic and familiar almost " you really became the oh so great lawyer you said you'll be" you said " Yeah I'm surprised you remembered something like that considering it's been how many years since we last talked" Phoenix replied smiling but deep down he was glad you still remembered him even if the version him that you knew was more dumber than his current self.

-You were a fellow prosecutor just like Edgeworth 

-Despite him not being the talkative type you 2 managed to grow rather close(( even stirring some unnecessary feelings within him)

-When you grew close enough he began opening up to you about what happened those years ago in that elevator and how it still haunts him to this day, he also mentioned his fear of elevator and earthquakes which you kept in mind 

-You always took precautions to be close to Edgeworth just in case am earthquakes would happen since he doesn't usually take the elevator 

-One faithful day as you 2 were hangings out at his place after work when suddenly an earthquake struck which prompt Edgeworth to panic, noticing this you quickly rushed to him trying to calm him down and to support him so even if he did pass out he wouldn't hit face first into the floor 

-You 2 were lying on the floor you hugging Edgeworth protective, the earthquake wasn't strong but it still shocked the man to his core 

-When it did finally calm down you laid him down on his bed waiting for him to wake up 

When he did he was a bit confused at first but the remembered what occurred before he lost consciousness " I must've failed " he concluded sitting up 

-You walked in the room with a cup of tea in hand " Oh Miles you're awake here I made this cup of tea for you" you said handing out the cup ad he took it, his hands still shaking a bit "Apologies for passing out like that back there I-" before he could finish you started talking " No need to apologise Miles I already knew something like that would happen so I made sure you'll be alright , I mean you told me yourself how much earthquakes affect you " you say looking at him 

-He was surprised , what he said wasn't exactly something minor or easily forgettable but he was still surprised you removed that bit of info 

-Sighing he took a deep breath before taking a sip of the tea " Thank you ____" he said with a small smile appearing on his face " Of course I'll do anything to help!"

-You've been working at Fey and Co office for some time alongside Diego for quite some time

-You,Mia and Diego were like 3 peas in a pod and could barely be separated 

-Sometimes when Diego is too busy you or Mia would take the liberty to make his favourite blend to help energise him a bit and to take a break every now and then

-When Diego first told you how to make his coffee blend you had to write it down but eventually you knew it by heart and that was sorta a bonding moment for you two 

-But things wouldn't be the same ever since that forsaken case 

-You all had your suspensions on Dahlia and when Diego eventually got poisoned you were both devastated meanwhile Mia tried her best to console you in his place and promised the both of you everything will be fine 

-And then Mia passed as well you were practically left all alone, you lost the 2 people you cared about ,feeling bad Phoenix took you as one of his assistants and tried to be there for you which you appreciated 

-When the new prosecutor introduced himself you could've sworn he seemed so familiar it couldn't be could it? But you chose to ignore it until he revealed who he truly was 

-The whole trial left you stunned and unable to comprehend what you were hearing and seeing 

-after the trial you were devastated once more but you did visit Godot often when he wasn't feeling guilty about the whole thing

-Till he was released this is how you two communicated

-On the day of his release you decided to celebrate by making his favorite blend considered he probably wasn't allowed coffee during his time in prison 

-You offered the glass of the warm beverage to him and he took it ,he trusted you and knew you wouldn't think of poisoning it 

-Taking a sip an all too familiar taste took over his mouth as he drank the bitter drink 

-" Hah looks like you still remember how to make my Godot blend no.107 down to the last detail" he said smiling at you before taking another sip of coffee.

-It happened once with a chat with you, him and Trucy.You don't remember what the actual conversation was but you remember Apollo mentioning having a pet rabbit , it was a bit surprising since he didn't look like the type of have a rabbit as pet but you found it cute 

-One day he was particularly stressed so you took it upon yourselves to cheer him up so you suggested going somewhere to take a breather 

-Apollo was a bit hesitant but he agreed plus Phoenix insisted he can go 

-" So where exactly are we going?" He asked as you literally dragged him to whatever destination you had in mind " oh you'll see" you simply said continuing to drag the poor boy to who knows where

-Eventually you came to a stop and he recognised the building as a bunny café " Let's have a drink here and take a break for a bit my treat" you say before walking in 

-Ordering your drinks of choice you 2 sat down at a table enjoying your drinks 

-" I have to ask why did you choose this café specifically we passed some you know" he asked curious about your choice "Oh I didn't just drag you here for a drink come we still have a bigger and a fluffier attraction wanting here " you say before taking Apollo to the bunny room where bunnies of all shapes and sizes were waiting 

-" Still a bit confused about why you chose this place" Apollo said reaching to pet a rabbit nearby " I remember you mentioned having a pet rabbit once so I thought this place would be perfect to sort of bring you like a sense of nostalgia you know" you explained sitting next to him also petting the rabbit that's been sitting on his lap 

-" You remembered someone as small as that!?" He exclaimed trying to keep his voice down to not scare the other bunnies and to not disturb the other customers " Maybe you'd be a better lawyer than me" he chuckled enjoying the moment 

-You definitely took pictures and showed them to rest of the agency much to Apollo's dismay since there were some photos of him being all soft while playing and feeding the bunnies 

-You,Apollo and Phoenix also had to stop Trucy from running to a pet store to buy a rabbit

-Growing up you did split ways Kalvier choosing the pursue law while you chose something else and you two often found yourselves too busy to talk with each other but you 2 would meet soon 

-You were just reading the newspaper having finished work and found a familiar face and name "Rockstar prosecutor sweeps the courtroom floor!" Wow, talk about eye-catching titles and there he was looking all high and mighty. 

-This suddenly gave you the idea of giving him a visit hoping he won't be busy that is

-You made your way to the prosecution's office,a bit nervous considering how scary people make the other prosecutors seem 

-Taking a deep breath you enter the building and ask around for Klavier's office and eventually you found yourself standing in front of his office's door 

-You knock and hear a " come in" signaling you to enter.You were pondering how he'll react ,would he even remind you? Would he kick you out? But before you can pinder for longer you hear Klavier's voice 

-"____!?" He exclaimed" What brings you here? I haven't seen you in years!" Despite looking older he was still the Klavuer you knew 

-"Wanted to come for a visit, a little reunion if you will, hope you're not too busy" you said rubbing your neck " No no it's alright I've just finished some stuff so I'm all yours" he said winking causing you playful hit his arm

-Looking around you quickly notice the display case of all his guitars "Woah there are so many you weren't kidding when you said you wanted to be a singer" you said looking at the different types " My my you still remember those silly chats we had when we were young " he asked walking next to you " Obviously you'd never stop talking about it " you said both to giggle at each other's foolishness in their youth

-You two spent catching up with things and reminiscing about old times and Klavier was honestly glad to have you back and be able to be by your side once more.

-The first time you met Simon was before the UR-1 incident 

-He often talked about wanting to study physiology and you've supported him  but ever since the faithfull day where his mentor died and he was accused with and sentenced to death he cut ties with you, no matter how hard you tried it was futile so you just let it go 

-All those 7 years you couldn't stop thinking about how he was and sometime you've had sleepless nights pondering if he did or did not get executed 

-When you found the charges were released you were ecstatic but weren't sure if you should visit him or not consider how he pushed you away for so long 

-Surprisingly you heard a knock at your door a few days after his release and speak of the devil there he was standing in the door frame which left you shocked 

-He was a lot more different looking and had a hawk accompanying him 

-" Simon you're..you're here!" You exclaimed still trying to process everything " Keh apologies for the long wait. I wasn't exactly in the best of circumstances.." he trailed off walking inside your house, closing the door behind him. "Please take a seat, I'll get some tea for the both of us!" You said before rushing to the kitchen 

-Simon took a seat in the living room as he looked around and started to notice how much me longed for your presence and attention 

-Coming back with 2 cups of tea you sit down next to him and you 2 start talking about what happened in the past 7 years. At some point you remembered what he said before his arrest " Are you still into the whole studying psychology ordeal?" You asked trying to be careful with your words to not open old wounds considering his mentor has been killed " Quite so maybe I should teach you a few things you sure were rooting for me back then about it " he chuckled taking a sip of his tea " oh yeah I meant to ask you this but who's your friend you got there?" You ask pointing at the bird on his shoulder " Oh this is my loyal companion Taka it's been helping me through the time in clink " he said rubbing the bird's chin " If you'd wish I can let you pet him but don't be surprised if he bites keh"

Few things before I get started: They are plot-relevant, something I only realized after getting started on writing this, so sorry if you wanted some random witness or something. Also, this is kind of just a summary, so if you have any questions, send in an ask or PM me! 

Anyways, let’s get started!

Dr. Gloria Edgeworth

Criminal Psychologist that works for the Japanifornian police force, and (post-timeskip), Assistant Chief of Police. Miles’ older sister, raised by Detective Badd after DL-6 when von Karma insisted on only taking one child in. “Matriarch” of both the police department and the prosecutor’s office, and fiercely protective of her friends and (most of) her colleagues. 

Fun Facts:

She’s two years older than Miles, and works with Gumshoe pretty often during the trilogy

Only pulls rank on people she doesn’t like, insisting that her friends and acquaintances call her Gloria

Bonded with Franziska during Justice For All, swapping stories about what Miles did when he was younger. Franziska has declared Gloria her sister, since they share a brother, and Gloria has no complaints

Sees all of Phoenix and Miles’ children as her nieces/nephews, and is fiercely protective of them

Sees Tyrell as a father figure, since he raised her for about half of her childhood, but still doesn’t refer to him as a parent out of respect for Gregory

Roommates with Mia in college, and subsequently close friends with Mia

Occasional prison warden, though she mostly just uses this position to chat with Godot and insult Kristoph post 4-1

Speaking of Kristoph, she has a hatred of him that might even be stronger than Phoenix’s. Most of the police department and prosecutor’s office (sorry Klav) know she dislikes him, but not why

When she’s not working with Gumshoe (or Ema in the sequel trilogy), she specializes in abuse cases, since she’s a.) a psychologist and b.) extremely prejudiced against abusers, given her brother’s relationship with one Manfred von Karma

Fiercely protective of Sebastian and Klavier, given their similar situations to Miles (Kristoph is an abusive shitlord and you cAN’T CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE)

Probably bet like $50 with Ema that Apollo and Klavier would get together after 4-4. I’m not sure who won though.

Introduced guarding Gatewater Hotel in Turnabout Sisters, but let Phoenix through anyways since she was friends with Mia and believed in the truth

Reintroduced in Apollo Justice investigating Meraktis Clinic, where Trucy promptly tackle-hugged her “Auntie Gloria,” introducing herself to Apollo with an offer of therapy (again, Kristoph is an abusive shitlord and you CAN’T CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE)

Sexuality Headcanon: just like her sister, she is a mean lesbian. except even meaner! she’s a bitch and i love her. i think her thinking edgeworth is hot in rfta is a classic example of “baby lesbian picks out a pretty man who is completely out of reach to have a crush on, but it’s actually just gaydar”

Gender Headcanon: nonbinary lesbian! she’s somewhat open about being nonbinary (has a small flag button on her bag, but doesn’t like... tell people at work etc), but she does not feel like explaining any further to people because it’s a lot of very personal feelings that are hard to articulate outside of her own head and she would just rather not deal with it. it’s not your fucking business!!!

A ship I have with said character: i love how like all the girls in aa are in the same age group so by the time they’re in their 20s it’s fine for them to meet back up and be like “oh? lesbian? trauma about family? mutual friends?” i think i will enjoy faraskye once i play aai, i think franema is cool (as i said before), and i think maya/ema could have a fun fwb thing. aa lesbian polycule when. if she has to get paired with a man in the background of another fic, i think throwing her together with clay is fine because at least they have similar interests. and honestly, if it’s well-written i’m okay with k/a/e.

A BROTP I have with said character: i love the dynamic of her, apollo, and klavier hanging out and getting a little bitchy. so fun. this fic is a really gen fic (with hints of k/a) about klavier picking up ema and apollo after they go drinking and it’s just a really good fic about the characters hanging out. read it.

A NOTP I have with said character: god i cannot articulate how much i hate kl*ma. it is such typical het shit of “wow this woman constantly expresses how much she dislikes this man and finds him annoying and that he doesn’t respect her enough when she’s doing her job! obviously this is romantic!” it’s not. stop. leave her alone.

A random headcanon: she had a superwholock phase and she doesn’t want to talk about it. in present canon she bitches on twitter all the time and has irony poisoning and she’s so so so funny. i would reply guy for ema skye to combat all the brainwormed klavier stans in her mentions due to how she occasionally posts an unflattering candid of klavier (new rare pic) with a mean caption (insulting to the parasocial icon). klavier has to constantly tweet “please do not harass @luminolskye we are friends she is just joking :)” to which ema qrts with “i am not joking.” ema has all notifications from people she doesn’t follow muted.

General Opinion over said character: she’s soooo fun i love her... the emotional core of rfta was so compelling to me, i loved the struggle between the sisters trying to save each other. i CANNOT wait to meet her in aa4 after the timeskip - i think her redesign is great and what they did with her character is so interesting + fits thematically with the rest of the aa4 cast. she’s soooo hot and she’s MEAN and BITTER but also SMIRKING and god i’m obsessed! i love her i think she’s so hot! honestly the most girlfriendy in the aa cast for me! cannot wait for her call klavier homophobic names after he flirts with apollo in court. wlw/mlm antagonism.

MIA:

A ship I have with said character: LANAMIA LANAMIA LANAMIA! i knew lana was gonna say that line but “she was attracted to me” still hit me like a truck. OH MY GOD! law school gfs... i also think they’re interesting to compare to each other - the way they care so much about their sisters and deal with the responsibilities left on their shoulders after their parents exit their lives. now i am very sad thinking about how lana retreated into herself and grew cold after gant started blackmailing her, and what if mia tried to reach her, but lana refused........... very sad! very sad! very sad!

A BROTP I have with said character: i think her and phoenix just being her supportively bullying him is very fun. starting out going like I HATE SIMPS I HATE SIMPS I HATE SIMPS and then actually... hiring him... probably helping him through law school with studying! and then his first trial being like WHY ARE YOU SO FUCKING STUPID? there’s also thoughts about how phoenix takes over for her as maya’s older sibling and how she supports him as a way to support maya... ugh! family units.

A NOTP I have with said character: i hate godot so god damn much. smug misogynist stop talking down to me. get away from him queen there’s a hot brunette in a scarf waiting for you at the prosecutor’s office wanting your strap

A random headcanon: i think mia studied extremely hard in law school, but i think in her spare time she was a fairly popular video essayist. phoenix helps pay rent on the office in the timeskip partially through ad revenue on her youtube channel.

General Opinion over said character: i love her i just wish... the game was less horny over her......... bro that shot of her dead body where her boobies are the literal focus of the image and you can almost see up her skirt... what the fuck? that’s the dead body of a woman i just talked to five minutes ago? also, because i’m currently playing aa3, i hate the stupid fucking scene where maya channels her so her badonkers can make the old man agreeable! it sucks! leave mia alone! regardless. i think she is hot and smart. and i wish i could just enjoy her titties in a tasteful depiction but noooo men are horny.
