Hi, Nalyra! After all season 2 trailers and teasers, do you think it will turns out, Louis is really schizophrenic or Hallustat is here for just his feel of shame, guilty and regret? Bc Hallustat's bird in his throat and that Paul also mentioned birds when he hallucinated.
Hey!
I... don't think it's schizophrenia per se.
Then again:
"Any of a group of psychiatric disorders associated with dopamine imbalance in the brain and usually characterized by psychotic behavior including delusions, hallucinations, withdrawal from reality, and disorganized patterns of thinking and speech."
That... would fit, I guess. It certainly matches some displayed (and yet to be displayed) behaviors.
However, these vampires... are not mortal. Their bodies do not quite function as ours, and their brains have to deal with a constant influx of data, while at the same time trying to keep the body (and brain) at peak performance. And with more abilities, too.
I always felt it very ... logical almost that they would withdraw, for examples (or most of them do), go to earth. A timeout. A time to process. A time to reset and "clean up" the clutter in their brains.
This is what happens when we sleep as well, our brains clean up. Without it, we get hallucinations as well. For example.
Of course in Louis' case... I think they are hinting at some kind of connection to Paul, maybe, with the birds, as you said. The one coming out of Lestat's throat, too, of course.
The probably latent and dormant afflictions that exist would of course be heightened by their life style. Killing to live weighs on the soul, Louis' personal grapple with guilt and shame would only be heightened by that as well.
Louis comes to the realization in the second half of IWTV that he wants Lestat alive... and so I think "Hallustat" will be a mix of all these things.
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he would be there in Dubai as well, not just in the Paris era.
Of course Daniel would recognize the patterns, it is just logical for him to worry the point... but I don't think a vampire can be narrowed down to a (single) mental disorder, because living with the monster you are is a process - coming to accept the monster you are is the overlaying arc of the chronicles.
So no, I don't think Louis is really schizophrenic. I think he, like Armand when he disassociates in the cult (for example), or others when they go to ground... tries to cope with his life in the way his brain can.
And our brains can do a lot :)) - and vampire brains even more, given the possibilities of the (spell) gift.
Armand notes in his book that Louis spellbinds "inadvertently" (and that this can be hilarious to witness), so Louis does have some capabilities in the spell gift... I personally figure that if you can conjure visions and spells for others, then that tendency can be directed towards your own mind, too. So "Hallustat" can also be a conjured vision, maybe invited consciously... maybe not.
I think for Louis... all these things come together.

What would life be without Friends.
I met Mila back in 2015 on a trip to Nepal… people from different countries meeting for 5 days to share their passion of photography. We had a great group and then we ended up together not on a table but under a table reassuring each other.
I met her again in Dubai a few months later and then we kept in contact over the years. Fast forward to planning our trip and I remembered she had moved to Portugal. I told her I was coming to Lisbon and she said right away I’ll meet you… and that’s how we ended up having a great time at TimeOut Market sharing stories with our hubbies like 9 weeks had passed and not 9 years.
Next time we’ll see you in Cascais.

What to expect?
#dubai
Dressed for the trip ...
Liveried chauffeur taking me to airport in black Merc limousine (included in Emirates ticket). Nice.
#Ilikeemirates
Emirates lounge is definitely a cut above the others: Moët, Veuve Cliquot, confit salmon, tasty middle eastern nibbles, super cakes, ... white gloved waiters
#IlikeEmirates
Almost a cabin to yourself, high-end noise-cancelling headphones, loads of chargers, 1900 films (of which 135 are latest), in-flight Wifi, large+iPad+iPhone screens, extensive cocktail menu (with Old Fashioned) and a top-deck bar !
#IlikeEmirates
159€ to go to the top of Burj Khalifa! No thanks ...
but people are forming large queues to pay
Crazy architecture... feels like Disneyland
Mostly it feels like a city made for robots ...
Not for families to live, eat, bring up children, grow old (you see very few elderly people) ...
But for robots (and humanoid shopping automata) it's probably lovely 😄
SHOPPING!!! (and olympic ice skating and aquarium and dental clinic and trampoline park and cinemas and driving school and hundreds of beauty treatments)
They also have Waitrose, Boots, WH Smith's, etc ... also UK plugs (but do drive on the right)
This is the only thing with the beautiful calligraphy (the only art museum is closed) ... but it is amazing
2/3 of the population are an unbanked underclass army of menial workers (drivers, cleaners, gardeners, waiters, cooks, ...) who typically come from India/Pakistan to serve all the white/local people - that's why everything is spotless
Fanastic choice in the female dress shops: black, black ... or ... black?
The men can look super sleek and elegant in their crisp white robes ... sometimes worn even by the traffic wallah
There is lush greenery and beautiful flower beds everywhere ... facilitated by water being pumped everywhere across what was desert
The ultimate show is when the Burj Khalifa (largest building in the world) flares up with an amazing light show, surrounded by a spectacle of water fountains
(best watch from terrace of TimeOut market with great barbecue and craft ale in hand)
dailymotion
See Tom Cruise doing his stunts there
The beach is a horrid commercial area full of people trying to sell you real estate ... but you do get elegant coffee

Hong Kong’s “Anthemgate” sends officials into a tizzy
Comment on this story Comment HONG KONG — “Please stand for the national anthem of Hong Kong!” the announcer said at the Asian Classic Powerlifting Championship in Dubai this month. An official-sounding song began, with trumpets blaring and a chorus singing. Susanna Lin, the gold medal winner in the under 47kg Masters 2 category, made the “T” for timeout sign with her hands — something the Hong…

INTERNATIONAL PREMIER TENNIS LEAGUE (IPTL) COMPETITION . Some insights about my work at @IPTLWorld competition: . At the @IPTLWorld competition exist similar special rules like in @DavisCupTennis competition regarding medical treatment on the tennis court! . There is only one „Official Physiotherapist” per team allowed to step on court to help the tennis player if requested! If there is something happening during competition (injury, required taping, etc.) you have only 3 min. time to perform a medical treatment on the court to solve the problem - it is also called „Medical Time Out“! . In the case shown in the video the @IndianAcesIPTL legends player Fabrice Santoro suffered from left hamstring problems at @IPTLWorld season 1 in Dubai. . After a quick medical evaluation of the player I started the 3 min. medical treatment and performed the following treatment techniques: . ➡️ Myofascial release techniques of the hamstring muscles . ➡️ Myofascial release techniques of the gluteal region . ➡️ Myofascial release techniques of the quadrates lumborum muscle . ➡️ Manual mobilization of the pelvis, lumbar/thoracic spine and ribs . ➡️ Compression bandage of the left thigh . Video credit: @CliveBrunskill . If you want to know more about this kind of techniques and how I provide specialist support to professional athletes on @ATPTour and at @DavisCupTennis team competition check and subscribe my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/stefanduell . Thriller!
Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
Location: Dubai International Stadium
Game Analysis, Post Match Thoughts and Stand out performances
This game was played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and four time finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore. Interestingly the teams were lead by India’s captain and vice captain with Virat Kohli captaining RCB and Rohit Sharma captaining the Mumbai Indians.
Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first which was not a bad start as RCB hit the ground running after a great opening partnership between Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal. Finch secured his first half century of the season but got dismissed by Trent Boult with Pollard taking a catch near the boundary. Virat Kohli the skipper walked out next. Kohli looked to make a statement of intent as he had been kept quiet with the bat in the previous two games. However it was not a good day for Kohli as he was dismissed for only 3 runs by Rahul Chahar. His fellow Indian teammate Rohit Sharma took the catch. RCB was under pressure and needed a good performance and they had the man to do just that. His name is AB de Villiers and he just nailed it along with Padikkal with both scoring half centuries. Padikkal also got out the same way as Finch and was out. Next came Shivam Dube who did the unthinkable, taking RCB to the 200+ run mark. RCB secured a total of 201 runs with the bat. Mumbai had hard work to do in order to win the game. Mumbai got off to a rough start with the bat after Rohit Sharma, de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav all went early in the game which proved to be very costly going forward. Hardik Pandya then came on to form a decent partnership with Ishan Kishan after hitting Adam Zampa for 2 sixes but then getting dismissed by the same man when he tried to go for another six but the ball went straight to Pawan Negi. Mumbai looked to be in trouble now and Pollard and Kishan were the only in form batsman left in the squad. They played slow until the CEAT tyres strategic timeout. Only god knows what they heard or did in those 2 and a half minutes because in the last 8 overs they gave everything starting with Kishan hitting a couple of sixes against Saini and Pollard getting started against Zampa and Chahal. Mumbai needed over 100 runs in the last 8 overs and brought it down to only 38 in the last 3 overs. At this point Pollard and Kishan had to hit a four or six with every opportunity they got and boy did they take their chances. Mumbai needed a total of 19 runs in the last over and started off with Ishan Kishan taking two runs after a disappointing hit. He made up for that with two sixes which bought Mumbai an opportunity to win the game needing just 5 runs off 2 balls. Kishan went for the win but got out after a mistimed shot. What was sad was that he got out for 99 runs, so disappointing to not see him hit the air and not getting a century. Now it was up to Pollard, it was do or die 5 runs of 1 ball if it was a six Mumbai win, if it was a 4 it would go to super over and it did go to a super over in fact the 2nd one of the tournament in just 10 matches! Mumbai made an interesting decision by not sending Ishan Kishan for the super over and had a fairly disappointing super over scoring only 7 runs and losing Pollard who hit their only boundary. RCB were expected to win but had a hard time with Bumarh’s yorkers but ABD still managed to hit a four after a bouncer by Bumrah and left Virat Kohli on strike to hit the winning runs and RCB won the game.
Firstly I would like to congratulate RCB on their unbelievable performance and well deserved win. Good job! Mumbai were honestly never supposed to play the super over. I thought RCB would defeat us comprehensively looking at the way we were batting but boy was I wrong. Pollard and Ishan Kishan were our best players and gave us fans hope that Mumbai had a chance. About Ishan Kishan not going for the super over, Rohit Sharma later confirmed in an interview that Ishan Kishan was in no state to go out for the super over as he was exhausted which I and other MI fans understand. So well played RCB and good luck for the rest of your campaign! As for MI, a tough game against Kings XI Punjab next in Abu Dhabi.
Some performances that stood out to me in the match were the batting performances of Ab de Villiers, Pollard and Ishan Kishan. Ab just nailed it with his performance in RCB’s batting innings and the super over. Pollard was the star of the show hitting 50 runs in 19 balls and giving Mumbai hope. Ishan Kishan was sensational and showed his potential and talent after a couple of disappointing campaigns with MI. These three players were just outstanding and in the end cricket won the hearts of fans this game because it just tells us it’s not over, anything can happen and it’s anybody’s game.
