Thinking about Far Beyond The Stars Nog™️ again.

We know nothing about him other than the fact that he works at the newsstand which could be owned by the place where the rest of the crew, Benny included, work at as writers, or maybe some other place or multiple places share or something idfk.

But the point is my brains asking stuff like: Is he related to Herb? What about Rom’s FBTS equivalent? Is he alive? What does he do? Where is he? Timeline wise, if it’s the same as with the main timeline of DS9 and makes all the characters in this setting the same age as their universal equivalents, that makes Vender Guy™️(idk what else to call him) about 21.

And I kinda get a feeling that a lot of these human/already human character adjacent characters are kind of reflective of the characters said actors play, which is just a whole heap of ‘that’s gonna bite him so hard in the future’ when it comes to the war stories comment in relation to Nog.

Has anyone ever written or drawn Geno x Cross? Hear me out-

Both have lost everything and everyone theyve ever known, have been in isolation, they get eachother. To a point at least. Speaking drabble, just imagining them meeting some way (outside of the underverse). Maybe Nightmare's got them both under his thumb idfk, but they meet and get to know each other wearily, finding they have more in common, sharing happier stories they have to stray from the more depressive ones.

Geno's pretty touchy about the scar across his chest, and Cross about his locket and history behind it- I imagine Geno and Cross having hard days finding the motivation to do anything at all, just the feeling of hopelessness and anxiety of past feelings of being stuck in one place resurfacing, and the two seeking eachother out for comfort, huddling under blankets and holding, squeezing each others hands to reassure themselves that they aren't alone anymore. I think they'd lend their shoulders to eachother to cry on too, weeping tears they didn't know they had in them anymore, mourning over the lives they could have lived.

I think Geno (timeline wise) is older than Cross, more experienced and hardened, so the first time he breaks in front of Cross is a whole scene, lot's of "I'm sorry"s and his magic just burning him up from the inside, making him feel miserable- and Cross is just fumbling, coaxing Geno close and holding him tight, afraid that the fragile soul Geno has is gonna dust from his hopelessness, man, I imagine Cross just holding Geno, rocking with him on the floor, dizzy and scared but trying to remain strong and offer comfort, telling him a couple of jokes when the crying dies down and offering Geno food, still worried about his soul- and they make something to eat together... and Cross burns it- it cheers Geno up though and Geno offers to show Cross how to bake instead.

I want some sweet moments and scary where they find it harder and harder to keep eachother out of their heads and scary finding out that they've opened their hearts to someone again- and terrified that its possible to lose someone again, not knowing if they could stand another heart ache like that.

but i've been doing nanowrimo for the first time this year and then it got me thinking of a new story idea that's basically taking what I've already covered main timeline wise for my pkmn fankids-verse in addition to the fuckery of what I've written for timeline21

timeline21 is basically the more fucked up dark angst version of main timeline where instead of all the main kiddos (paige isabella, ashley, daniel, damien, chloe, atlas) basically """dying""" and joining the Legendaries after they defeated the BBEG because they made/formed a pact with each Legendaries to give them power/abilities to use to defeat BBEG and then everyone forgetting their existence in order to preserve the knowledge that Legendaries exists and are not myths--timeline21 only has daniel being the sole survivor cuz the Legendaries took pity on him or something idfk and HE'S the only one who remembers his sister and friends and their sacrifice and decides to bring them back no matter the cost, even if it means waging war against the Legendaries and destroying the world to do so

anyway i'm rambling and that's not helping me with getting my thoughts in order

i've decided to take timeline21 and turn it into a novel. or maybe a novella. I'm not actually sure which one i would want it to be to be honest. but either way, I'm bringing the angst outside of pkmn fankids stuff because it's fun and i can

Worked myself into a tizzy realizing the setup for my lil collection/series I was working on makes like 0 sense. Why is Kiryu there at all? He shouldn't be timeline wise.

He ends up stuck there and/or back and forth for a few weeks given he's Kiryu and gets caught up in every minor anything ever.

Still doesn't really make sense but meh. The timeline is all thrown off anyway so. Whatever lol.

watched the end of some guy’s amnesia: rebirth playthrough and i have some boring thoughts @halloweenhavoc have u finished the game i feel like you have more of a grasp on all this stuff than i do lmfao what with having actually played it and also probably remembering machine for pigs better

i really did not like fully piece together either the lore of the Main Story of the game nor the broader Amnesia Universe Lore lmfao but i was interested in the latter especially, but re: the former, i did like having all these other Known People associated with the protag whose fates we could all find out and shit

i’m like, sort of underwhelmed, but that’s b/c even though i was like “okay so just b/c this is a frictional-produced amnesia sequel a decade later doesn’t mean you need to hype it up like it’s gonna blow your mind just coz atdd was That big a deal” doesn’t mean i still wasn’t partially like oh but what if it is like mindblowing horror game tho......it felt a lot more like soma than atdd which isn’t in itself bad b/c soma rules but when i’m expecting it to be more like atdd it just makes things kinda bemusing and hard to recalibrate.....it was a good game though lol just like the whole time trying to figure out what the experience is gonna be i guess

anyways so like in the direction frictional’s games have gone it def feels like they’re more into Game Environments (those ruled in this game....) and being very like Thematic Story-Centric.....atdd was very stripped down and they sure got creative with that and it was as effective as it was but yeah it feels like now that they have the clout from that and the game production experience and presumably more resources and stuff that they’re progressing in This Direction which is not as atdd-esque lmao like good for them if this is the creative vision, follow those dreams and stuff

RIGHT and i think frictional is really creative in its like, Game Mechanics, like how relatively recently we learned that that whole thing about being told that Low Sanity makes you easier to detect in atdd, but that wasn’t true and was just put in the game to put the player more on edge? i mean, daniel keeling over for a moment if sanity gets too low is probably unhelpful in a chase but. and like, here the “sanity” thing was neat, i liked the Sound lol, i liked the flashing images and how that was like, Relevant, but also it seems like you can’t ever die in this game?? basically, ish?? which i think is neat. like, you don’t really Need to.....said it last time how it feels like the player just is still going to react as Urgently if they’re being chased by the monster lmfaooo

people say he looked depressed then. which might be a thing. but i never saw him like that. he just looked calm and calculating to me. and people say that he changed after he ate the warhammer titan. but, while he did have a ‘WOAH’ kind of moment, the change in his attitude didn’t really come until ch 106. so unless in the meantime he got some memories from the warhammer titan or even the founding titan, the only major event that happened after that was sasha’s death. which. hm

except that there’s hoodie-kun who once visited historia and it’s pretty obvious that was eren but idk when exactly that happened timeline-wise

also i had a thought. what if in order to activate the coordinate he has to specifically touch a titan with royal blood. idk why that would be a thing but whenever he touched historia he just happened to unlock more memories and we had no indication of the coordinate being activated

As with all things in life, the things you want to focus on took a backseat. John and Mary were engaged, and they were planning their wedding. In a horrible attempt, John asked Sherlock to be his best man. And to your great shock, Mary asked you to be Maid of Honor.

“Me? Why me?” you asked, perplexed. You knew Mary had a few close girl friends that she could’ve chosen.

She put her arm through yours as the two of you walked along the shops. “Because you’re John’s sister, I really like you, and not to mention, if I don’t make you Maid of Honor, then some other woman has to walk down the aisle with Sherlock.”

This thought hadn’t occurred to you, but now that it had, your blood started to bubble.

You grinned widely at her and said, “I think you’re going to be a great addition to the family.”

At this, she laughed merrily and the two of you went into shop after shop where she tried on probably a hundred dresses. You liked Mary, always had. Well, at first, of course you were skeptical, she was dating your big brother after all. But you could see the effect she had on him, a way she had with him. She was compassionate, yet stern. Something you think John needed in his life.

The two of you had become pretty good friends, in the few times she had stopped by to check on you during your dark time. Sometimes she came with John, watching after you. Other times she came on her own on her way from work. But either way, it was an incredibly sweet gesture, seeing as most people don’t go try to check in on their boyfriend’s little sister when she’s depressed. But Mary wasn’t like most people. She was kind-hearted and forgiving, but not a woman to be reckoned with and you really liked that about her.

After you and Mary had finished, she still hadn’t found a dress. You assured her the look wasn’t over and her dream dress was out there somewhere. You launched into full on Maid of Honor mode as you worked with her to see what all she still needed to get done. You asked her what she wanted John's help with and what she wanted your help with.

So far, it seemed she and John would pick his tux, their rings, the church, the reception, and the food. That left the dress, veil, accessories, shoes, flowers, decorations, and the bridal party attire.

With all of this, you focused on your real job and the wedding, trying to be at John and Mary’s every beck and call. If it was any other time, it would’ve been fine, but somewhere in the back of your mind, you realized this was bad. Being Mary’s Maid of Honor gave you an excuse to avoid Sherlock. Trying to wiggle out of hanging out, helping on cases, coming to his apartment to spend the night. You always gave an excuse that you were either surfing the web for tips, shopping online, or putting together lists.

You couldn’t help but be prone to not want to be around him. Being around him hurt almost as much as when you thought you’d never see him again. Something about those haunting blue crystal eyes, those long fingers, that notorious coat, his dark curls -- something about them turned your stomach when you saw him. Anxiety and fear would rip through you every time.

One day, this would be a dream. One day, you’d wake up in an asylum, realizing you’d finally snapped. One day, he’d really be gone and your poor heart would just stop beating.

Sherlock continued to try though, he kept pushing slightly. He wanted to give you your space, but he worried if he let up too much, you would feel like he’d disappeared again. So he kept at it, reminding you constantly that he was there, that he wasn’t going anywhere. Yet, while he was continuing to try and push you, he had his own Best Man duties he had to attend to, which just caused the chasm to grow even further.

Moving in together had even been put on hold because you weren’t ready to leap just yet, and finding the time to do all of that would’ve been impossible. At least until Mary and you were out looking for her dress once more, after you’d looked at flowers, centerpieces, table cloths, and chosen the wine to be served.

The saleswoman was fussing over Mary’s train as she eyed herself in the mirror, then you as you walked around her, assessing how it fit her body.

“Just think, Y/N, this might be you someday!” she said with a giddy grin.

At first, you had no idea how to respond. Marriage? The thought had crossed your mind before Sherlock’s little… event, but now… you could hardly stay in the same room without feeling anxious. It’s not that you didn’t want to. When you thought about it -- Sherlock in a tux, waiting for you at the end of some aisle, all your friends and family there, it sounded quite nice. Even fast forwarding through domestic living. The two of you working cases, solving crimes, helping the justice system just to come home to each other. Someone to lean on… Well, isn’t that what anyone wanted in life? Someone to love and be loved?

You laughed softly. “I’m not sure Sherlock’s the marriage type,” you noted. He had already made leaps and bounds to even date you, then kiss, then have sex. Marriage might be asking too much of the poor man.

“I think any man is marriage material if they find the right girl.”

“I suppose,” you hummed.

“Speaking of, how’s the moving in going?” she asked.

“Moving in? I--uh--”

Shit, you forgot you told her.

“You haven’t started yet have you?” she asked and the saleswoman stepped away to grab something.

“Well… I…” you began feebly, no excuse coming to your head.

“Y/N,” she began in that motherly, chastising way she had. “You can’t put it off forever.”

“I don’t want to. I just… I need time.”

She pressed her lips in a line, nodding before she hugged you. “I’m not going to tell you or make you do anything you aren’t ready for, but I also feel like I should remind you that the man is trying. The least you can do is try to meet him in the middle.”

You nodded. “I know.”

“So what’s got you hesitant? Do you think you don’t love him any more or?”

You shook your head. “That’s not it. I love him too much. I’m just scared that… well that I’ll get too close again and he’ll hurt me again.”

She bobbed her head understandingly before she took your hand. “Marriage is unpredictable. You don’t know what challenges lie ahead, what obstacles you have to face, but knowing you’ll have someone by your side to face them with makes it all worth it. The nerves, the anxiousness, the worry, it’s all worth it in the end. So I want you to think about the fact that life is short, and if you spend all this time pushing him away, you may wish you had never done it in the first place.”

Your head hung at her words, chewing your lips.

“I’m not trying to talk you into staying with him, or moving in, or anything of the sort,” she continued, peering at you gently. “I just don’t want to watch you two miss your chance. You’re a lot like John, you let the pain of your past stop your happiness of the future. Take it from me, you don’t want to do that. You don’t want to live in the past. It never does anyone any good.”

“You’re too wise,” you remarked with a slight laugh.

“You’re about the only one who thinks so,” she joked lightly.

But her words sunk in to you, deep. They dropped anchor and latched on. She was right. All of this pushing Sherlock away had only been hurting the two of you, the last thing you wanted to do.

After going through all these beautiful and sentimental things for the wedding, you’d been pushing down bubbling feelings for Sherlock. You’d forgotten how happy it had made you to see him after a long day, or how thrilled you were the first time you kissed, or how euphoric your nights could be with him.

You didn’t want to forget any more, you didn’t want to dwell anymore. You wanted to live, in the present, with Sherlock.  

You decided to go home that evening, and start packing, ready for a new life, a new chapter with Sherlock.

gonna go off about my boy for @carriecomehome / @classics-never-die right now so apologies for me being ridiculous

so my Boss is named Django and he’s a big fucking bozo who is way too into being a criminal. was born in Boston in 1983 and basically spent his childhood more or less alone due to not really being able to make connections with anyone other than his family (who consist of criminals as well because sometimes I take a joke way too far). had a fairly fine childhood mixed in with stints of petty crime and had nothing that significant go on up until he left college around 2004 cause he just wasn’t feeling it. thus he wandered around aimlessly and feeling no purpose until stumbling his way into Stilwater.

and boy did that just ignite something in him he didn’t really think about. I always see the first game’s plot (in my eyes also apologies but I fucked with the timeline) as a kind of situation of Django falling in love with the lifestyle and basically going deeper and deeper into it. hence why years later he’s still actively going out of his way to make himself a far more efficient and terrifying criminal cause he’s a fucker.

uhHHhHhhHHhhh I guess personality-wise I try to do a fine line of like the hedonistic nature of the Boss (at least in later games) and also that fucking scary and savage brutality we got to see a lot of in the second cause I just like doing a decent enough balance. he’s far more composed than he was back in those days but he’s still downright terrifying and does nasty things cause I’m mean.

he’s a good bozo at times and really does genuinely care for the crew despite being a fuckwad who doesn’t know how to vocalize a single damn thing. just awkward shoulder pats here and there ngl. loves to have fun and enjoys doing ridiculous stunts cause he’s dumb. has not been fully relaxed at all for several years because he’s constantly having a near death experience like every week. fairly good businessman despite the fact he wings it at times. also incredibly passionate about fighting.

Ever since you’d met Sherlock Holmes, you could hardly get him out of your mind. He had this uniqueness to him that was entirely intoxicating. You were wise to make up your mind about him through a face to face first impression. Although you had to admit his failure to deduce anything about you was disheartening, you’d rather hoped for more.

It’d only been two weeks since you’d met him, but your brother texted you, asking if you could come by and look at a case. Sherlock was requesting it, and his exact words were “I need the smart Watson here.”

This made you smile, as you knew Sherlock wasn’t one to give out compliments.

Grabbing your coat and scarf, you headed out into the drizzling London day and made your way across the city to your brother’s flat.

“Good, you’re here,” Sherlock mumbled. “Look at these pictures and tell me what you see,” he ordered as he stared at the wall.

“Uh, alright,” you said, as you barely had time to even walk in the place and he was barking an order at you. “They’re...poisoned,” you remarked.

“Good. How do you know that?”

“Other than the fact that they have a pile of vomit near them, they all have a faint yellow dusting on the corner of their mouth.”

“Yes, but the autopsy believes it to be strangulation as the cause of death, so which is it? Poison or choking?”

Your eyes narrowed on the pictures, seeing the bruising around the necks. “He tried with the poison, clearly it didn’t work, so he strangled them.”

“Excellent.”

“Wait, but if you already knew that, why am I here?”

“I need you to come to the newest crime scene with me. I believe it’s connected to these murders but the police don’t.”

“No poison?”

“No poison, but it’s strangulation. They weren’t left in the same place either.”

“So why do you need me? If you already think they’re related…”

“A second set of keen eyes never hurts,” he noted as he pulled on his gloves. “John, you coming? I’m taking your sister!” he shouted down the hall. Within a few seconds, John was in the living room, dressed and ready to go.

“Yes, I’m coming,” he said before apologizing to you.

“Don’t apologize, this is fun,” you informed with a giddy smile.

All of you were on the shore of a river as Sherlock used his magnifying glass to look at every little detail on the poor man.

“Okay, Watson, what do you see?” he asked as stood up, still staring down at the body.

“He’s older than the other victims--” your brother began.

“Not you. Her,” he said, his eyes trained on you.

“Me?”

“Yes, go on, what do you see? Do you think this crime is related to the others I showed you?”

You peered at him with curiosity for a moment. You crouched and looked at the man’s neck. “Yeah, I’d say so. Same bruising, same place on the neck, so it was the same force with the same dominant hand. He’s not using the poison any more because after three failed attempts, it’s useless. He dumped the body near water to make us think it isn’t part of his other crimes...Which means...he thinks we’re getting close. He changed most of his MO just to make this look different.”

“Right,” Sherlock concurred.

“I’m sorry, what’s happening?” John questioned.

“Keep up, John, we have a nervous serial killer on our hands,” you quietly responded as your eyes stayed fixed on Sherlock, your ever growing awe blooming in your head.

Sherlock looked to you, an amused smirk on his face. “She’s quite right. Now, we just need to figure out why these were his targets. Scotland Yard could find no related link between them but there has to be something.”

“But you aren’t Scotland Yard,” you remarked with a smirk. “You’re the great Sherlock Holmes. Now think. What do a 30 year old woman, a 41 year old man, a 28 year old man, and a 52 year old man have in common?”

Sherlock squeezed his eyes shut as he slowly shook his head, mumbling.

“What’s he doing?” you asked John.

“He’s going through any patterns he may have missed originally,” John informed.

“Yes, and do shut up you two, I can’t think if you’re jabbering on,” he commented and you couldn’t help but smile. You knew John (and several others, if you were being honest) found him rude sometimes, but to you he was...charming.

“The poison, it was fed to them. They went to the same place to eat. Of course!” he said triumphantly, his face an expression of joy and victory.

“No, we checked that. None of them went to the same places,” Detective Inspector Lestrade answered. The two of you had met briefly when you arrived on the scene.

“Are you sure? They could’ve used cash. Because all of them were meeting someone they didn’t want traced. Drugs. It’s drugs. They all met at the same location, either paid cash or didn’t order anything at all, and they were behind on some payments. The dealer poisoned the supply or their food at the restaurant. There is only one type of person or dealer that can get their hands on drugs or poison that would do that. Edward Romano.”

“You’re sure about this?” Lestrade asked.

“Positive.”

“Impressive, Mr. Holmes,” you noted.

“Thank you. You weren’t so bad yourself.”

“I do try.”

“Indeed you do,” he hummed as he eyed you up and down.
