Thinking about the way Baird holds on to the alternate versions of the LITs and holds them up to that
Especially Ezekiel
She says she knows what he is capable of being from seeing his librarian alternate and the him in the video game, but I'm not sure she realises how unfair and kind of fucked up it is to expect him to one day be either of those people.
The librarian Ezekiel from the alternate dimension is an Ezekial Jones who has been the librarian since he was *13*. That might even be before puberty for him! That's early to mid puberty! He wasn't even at his adult height yet! He's been saving the world, risking his life, dealing with magic, since he was ***13***, can we stop to fully imagine that for a second? Of COURSE that guy was different! And it's so unfair to hold our Ezekiel to that standard because that ISNT Ezekiel anymore! That's just some guy who looks like him and has a few similar interests!
But Baird doesn't realise this because she hasn't thought of that, that's evident in how weirded out she is by him saying she was like a mom to him, she never stopped to realise that this Ezekiel wasn't 23 when he became the librarian, he was *13*, which is like DUH of course he saw his guardian as a mom, he was barely even a teenager, my guy
But then there's also the video game Ezekiel, she tells Ezekiel that he doesn't remember it but she does and now that she's seen what he can be she knows what he's capable of but THAT Ezekiel was formed through the most intense trauma imaginable, time loop where it restarts everytime your friends die? Yeah, that changes a person in ways nothing else can.
Baird isn't malicious, obviously, she just means she's seen their potential and wants them to live up to it, but she hasn't noticed the undertones of comparing them, particularly Ezekiel, to their counterparts.
And I just think that's super interesting.

wrong paper
DannyMay2023 Day 19: No Backspace Challenge
title: wrong paper
words: 665
Summary: Mr. Lancer gets an assignment from Danny that is not right.
DISCLAIMER: This is no backspace, no spell check, no auto capitalization, and no punctuation shortcuts. I'll probably provide a better copy later on because ya girl can't fucking spell. Or type. Or write. Some of the crossouts are my fuck ups. Some are for flavor. ...to hide all my fuck ups.
~~~~~~
Mr. Lancer streched tiredly, blinking sleep from his eyes as he pulled the next essay towards him. Not for the first time, he considered asking Ishiyama to allow him to o go over basic penmanship in class, how could absolutely none of these children write legibily? At least they were workingon a creative writing course so the papers were varied and interesting for once.
Eve i Or at least… some of them were. Thus far, Dash had written about a football star with superpowers, Paulina about marrying a superhero, Mickey wishing he was a superhero…
living in a town with an actual superhero probably influenced some of these papers, if Lncer had to take a stab in the dark.
The next paper he pulled ou was one with a lot of smurdged and crossed out text, no name a t the ti top. The hanwriting was familiar, at least. Mr. Fenton certainly had a… unique version of chicken scratch.
Lancer frowned at the paper as he began to read it. this… didn’t look like the ‘Write A Story’ assignment he’d assigned.
The sear words indicated as much, vulgar languageLancer had never heard Fenton use.
Man, I am so fuckingover this shit. Mr. Popular Asshat shoved me into a locker FOUR times today. I’m so ecsawus exhaush exhausted. I’ve shoved at least 15 ghosts back into the Zoe at Zone this week. It’s Wednesday. Wednesday!!! Skulker has come for my pelt four times alone.
Oh I forgot the date - it’s Jan 23 26 2005.
honestly I should be working on my stupid paper for English class for Lancer. But what stoy could story can I possiblytell that isn’t less ridiculous than my actual life? or whatever the phrase is. My life is everal way too wild, more than anything I could imagine up.
Like… I’m a half dead teenager. I’ve been dead for nearly a year and no one’s noticed. I fight for my life everyday. I’m a superhero with a secret iedentity and best freind/sidekicks - though if I eevr called them sidekicks to their faces again I’m getting side-kicked in the face. I’ve even got extra bonus points! My parents want to dissect me, I’m failing school. Hell, I’ve even got an evil alternate timeline version of myself that caused the fucking end of the world.
The TV shows make it look so easy. so do th e comics. I’m so tired. I’m only 14, I’m not supposed to be atri sk atrisk at risk of getting murdered daily. Well, not this high of a risk. I don’t want to live like this. But if I stop fgihting, trying, I’ll be dead within a week.
It isn’t fair. Life isn’t fair and neither is death.
Still, might be a cool story idea.
A teenage slacker who gets electrocuted by his parents invention, dies, and get brought back halfway. Turns into a ghost and saves people while his human life seems to wither and die around him. Is constantly hunted and villified when he just wants to help.
Yeah. My life as Phantom would make a hell of a story, wouldn’t it?
Lancer stared at the paper in confusion. It certainly sounded like a wonderful fictttitious story… but somhow it didn’t seem like fiction. It seemed more like a journl entry.
Lancer turned to his computer, pulling up the local news website. It wasn’t hard to find an article about Phantom, he was in the top three stories.
PHANTOM SAVES 13 FROM OFFICE FIRE
Lancer studde studied the article, blowing up the picture of Phantom’s dace. Of Danny Phantom’s face. He opened up another screen, pulling up the student files (complete with pictures). He pulled up D. Fenton’s file, several alerts coming up about truancy, tardis, tardies, absences, missed assignments n fa and failing grades. Lancer enlarged the human boy’s photo and sat it side by side wth the one of Phantom.
Change the coloration… and these two were identical.
Oh no.
Ohno.
Oh no.
Okay. I feel like I shifted a few timelines again because outside of Mr Studd adds I remember at least 2 other sex-related controversies related to Cyberpunk.
First being the male/female voice V didn't sit well with the lgbt+ community for reasons I didn't bother researching*.
Second was funny because after period of being smug about certain NPC romance option being restricted to same-sex V they learned about another one being exclusively for opposite-sex V (which is quite logical when you want two options). They really wanted to have their cake and eat it.
* Went out of my way to look it up. Apparently the fact they tied V's voice to pronouns used in game was "the problem". And just to drive it home - trying to find this shit I also found more supposedly "transphobic" things people found in the game back in 2020 before it was cool to play.
A lot of people seem to not know this, so...here's a (sort of) brief non-comprehensive timeline of (primarily) USian super recent queer history (warning for a lot of anti-queer violence and discrimination):
1980: Gender Identity Disorder first appeared in the DSM-III
1980: Inhibited sexual desire (ISD), later renamed Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) first appeared in the DSM-III
1981: AIDS was first noticed by doctors in LA, NYC, and San Francisco in clusters of Kaposi's sarcoma and pneumocystis pneumonia in gay/bi men.
1983: Gerry Studds became the first openly gay member of Congress after being censured for a 1973 sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page. He was later reelected six more times.
1987: Barney Frank became the first voluntarily openly gay member of Congress
1992: U.S. Navy Petty Officer Allen Schindler was murdered by a shipmate after having been repeatedly harassed for being gay. This became a major incident cited in the debate leading up to the passage of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)
1993: Brandon Teena, a trans man, was sexually assaulted and murdered in Humboldt, Nebraska. His story became the subject of the 1999 film Boys Don't Cry.
1993: In Baehr v. Miike, the Hawaii Supreme Court's decision suggested the possibility that Hawaii's prohibition on same-sex marriage may be unconstitutional.
1994: Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue (DADT), passed in 1993, comes into effect. This law prohibited discrimination or harassment within the military of closeted gay or bisexual members of the military, while also banning openly gay or bisexual individuals from serving in the military. An estimated >13,000 individuals were discharged before its repeal
1996: The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was passed and came into effect. It defined marriage for federal purposes as the union of one man and one woman and allowed states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages.
1997: The Otherside Lounge, a lesbian bar, was bombed by Eric Robert Rudolph, the "Olympic Park Bomber"
1998: Tammy Baldwin became the first openly gay person elected to the House of Representatives and the first open lesbian elected to Congress
1998: Matthew Shepard was beaten and tortured in Laramie, Wyoming, later dying from his injuries
1998: Rita Hester, a Black trans woman, was murdered in Allston, Massachusetts. Her death inspired the Transgender Day of Remembrance.
1999: The trans pride flag was created by Monica Helms
2001: The Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) was founded by David Jay
2002: After a wave of state statutory and constitutional bans on same-sex marriage, 43 states have some form of ban against same-sex marriage
2003: Lawrence v. Texas, a landmark Supreme Court decision, struck down the sodomy law in Texas and invalidated sodomy laws in 13 other states.
2004: Massachusetts became the first US jurisdiction to license and reocognize same-sex marriages, as a result of the 2003 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling in Goodridge v. Department of Public Health.
2008: The California Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage was legal. This was overturned by Proposition 8, a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage that was found unconstitutional in 2010.
2008: Timothy Ray Brown, identified as The Berlin Patient, was announced to be the first person cured of HIV/AIDS.
2009: Same-sex marriage is legalized in Connecticut following the the Connecticut Supreme Court's 2008 ruling in Kerrigan v. Commissioner of Public Health. 10 more states and DC would legalize same-sex marriage before United States v. Windsor.
2009: The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act was signed into law. It classified attacks based on sexual orientation or gender identity, as well as mental or physical disability, as hate crimes
2009: AVEN members walked in the San Francisco Pride Pride as the first asexual entry in an American pride parade
2011: DADT was repealed, allowing gay and bi individuals to openly serve in the military
2012: Kyrsten Sinema became the first openly bisexual person to be elected to Congress
2012: Tammy Baldwin became the first openly gay senator
2013: United States v. Windsor, a landmark Supreme Court Decision, ruled that DOMA was unconstitutional and that the federal government couldn't interpret "marriage" and "spouse" to only apply to different-sex unions
2013: The DSM-5 eliminated Gender Identity Disorder and instead referred to Gender Dysphoria, which focuses attention on those who feel distressed by their gender identity
2013: The DSM-5's criteria for Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder and Male Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder excluded individuals who self-identify as asexual
2015: Obergefell v. Hodges, a landmark Supreme Court decision, ruled that the fundamental right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples. This required all states to perform and recognize same-sex marriages as equal to different-sex marriages. Prior to Obergefell, same-sex marriage was at least partially legal in 38 states, Guam, and DC.
2016: A mass shooting was committed in the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando by Omar Mateen, leaving 49 dead and 53 wounded. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack
2018: Openly trans individuals were allowed to join the military
2018: Danica Roem became the first openly trans person to be elected to and serve in a U.S. state legislature
2020: Bostock v. Clayton County, a Supreme Court decision, ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibited employement discrimination against queer people.
2020: A second man was announced to have been cured of HIV using a stem-cell treatment.
Feel free to add on to this, and let me know if any of the links are broken.
how do yu think buckethead meet chop top and what's ur thoughts on chop top feelings after tcm 2? will he be quiet or will he be a like bit more unstable?
OK OK OK HELL YEAH OK SO. Last ramble of the evening;;;
I do honestly just like the idea that like Nubbins, he was picked up as a hitchiker (after running away from a hopsital or smth or other) by Buckethead & Squishface on a roadtrip......... and they just adopted him..... new fun friend.... i may doodle a comic for that one day..........
As for Emotions which I could go on forever abt Thank u for asking. In my "Chop Top Timeline(tm)" during tcm2 he was content / had given into the Sawyer Lifestyle. Specifically Given In is the word here, I think he used to do a lot of bad studd before, but more because he was lashing out. The Sawyer way is enjoying the bad stuff (Drayton is a liar i s2g look at the way he keeps grinning and glancing awkwardly and laughing...)
Cornbugs era feels to me like the most self-aware he gets. He might just be a little tired, STILL HAVING FUN DONT GET ME WRONG. Still mean as hell. But a lot of Cornbugs stuff is satire in the way that, it feels like satire BY Chop Top. Eg. Clown smile (death warmed over), belly like a snake....
I feel like Chops finally like, processing his childhood in a more clearly communicative way (the tunnels were defi a form of self expression!!! Just a bit more difficult to understand since we didnt get a full tour AND WHAT A SHAME THAT IS.), as he is trying to avoid processing the death of his family. As w Nubbins, I can see him pretending that they're still alive, but the weight of the knowledge that he's lost everyone slowly weighing on his facade of "IM VIBING SO HARD HAHAH HOHOH". YK??? He is starting to slow down, bay-bee............
Also, that stomache cut looked Pretty fucking severe. I can imagine him having Some kinda intestinal problems. Dunno what but damn boy that was a bit far. I am not a doctor. If someone knows what smth like that could cause long term pls do tell. I dont wanna google it. Queasy.
MKX Comic AU - Stuleena
My idea for my MKX AU pairing. I know I said she’s paired with Scorpion in the new timeline, though reading the comic made me think of this. I already have one written down on her with Kenshi. I already her with Scorpion’s; though I really need to publish that lol. So why not Mileena’s.
P.S. I have an idea for where she stays alive, joins the Shaolin and ends up with Kung Lao but I’ll save that for another day
After being in sidelines of the tournament of Outwold, watching the kombatants fight from the sidelines. She notice ‘Kitana’ walk by, she smelled the scent of the blue woman, which seemed far off different than the original scent she smelled when she was around the princess. Studd knew that it wasn’t her business but her curiosity got to the best of her so she followed the imposter woman from the shadows. Trying to investigate further, Mileena seemed to find her by the smell of her own “Flesh”. Studd told the Edenian faker that she knew that she wasn’t the princess. Mileena thought the shadow demon was to interfere with her plans and the two battled. In the end, Studd proved to be the victor within the fight. The brunette demanded to know who she exactly was. The flesh pits creation smirked behind her mask, saying. “If you know that I’m the impostor, I bet you can figure it out yourself. I will tell you that I am the true heir of Shao Khan.” With that, she just left the impostor to investigate further, as she wondering where the actual princess was. Along her way of the investigation, she ran into the sorcerer, Shang Tsung. She tells him of her encounter with pretender, saying she smelt like Kitana but there was a vast difference in her scent. The sorcerer informs her on Shao Khan’s plan and the birth of Mileena. Once Studd got a good understanding of it, she thought to help along since she was allied with Shao Khan and his army for the time being. Studd thought if she could get close to Mileena, should get close to Shao Khan.
After Shao Khan’s banishment by the Eldergods, and Mileena being the new ruler of Outworld, Studd went with her partner Reiko along with Havik, Tanya and Rain discussing a plan. They served under Mileena loyally, or it seemed to be that way. Most would seem to say that her rule is far worse than Shao Khan’s. Studd seemed to be attracted by how much power she overall had with Outworld, this coming from being previously drawn by Shao Khan’s own power. Soon when Koa’tal over throws Mileena off her throne, saying she is not to rightfully rule it, this made the Tarkatan upside. Along her side, she added Mileena and her army at war during those many years, while they have their base down at Shang Tsung’s island. Studd was in on the plan with Reiko and Havik to throw off Mileena and betray her once she believes to have the throne after this. The shadow demon thought it be interesting to drop a few hints with this down on Mileena so she could be closer to her. Though whenever the brunette tries, Skarlet seemed to intervene and get in the way of that, saying that ‘Reiko was her to keep an eye watch on Studd as well’.
