Solving the Future au (4)

"...I'm sorry, but could you repeat that?" Akito wasn't sure if he heard KK right. For a second he thought he heard the older man ask him and Mari to-

"Join. My. Team." KK explains that since they were all obiviously on the same side, by which he means that they all hated Hannya, it shouldn't be too much of a issue for them to join forces.

Akito's considers the pros and cons of KK's offer.

Cons: It could be a trap, KK's team might never fully trust Akito or Mari, someone might find out about Akito being a time traveler.

Pros: A bigger support system, joining KK's team could help Akito prevent more unessary deaths, Mari meeting Erika and hopefully becoming friends, KK helping Akito with his weaving, etc.

After talking it out with Mari, Akito decided to take the risk and take KK's offer in joining the older man's team.

He'd go on to tell Mari later that, NO, he didn't blush like a school girl when KK smirked and said "Good choice, pretty boy."

And with that, Akito and Mari joined KK's team.

To be honest, it was a rather awkward start between the siblings and the rest of KK's team.

No one seemed to know what to make of the other, and it was obivious that KK's team didn't really trust either Akito or Mari, but that was fine. The siblings were used to handling things alone...

Though, a surprise came in the form of Erika taking the first step in actually talking to the siblings. A question here, an answer there, and soon Erika was talking easily to Mari.

Soon the others followed. Dale, the bear like man, quickly warmed up to the siblings after Mari started curiously asking him some questions about certain folklores

Ed came next. The quiet man came across Akito after the younger man came back from a solo hunt.

No one was in the base at the moment besides Ed, and when Akito stumbled in, eyes full of wild panic and breathing heavily, Ed knew he just couldn't leave the younger man alone in his panic.

On Akito's side of things, he had just been doing a normal hunt, but when a familar woman dressed in red came at him, Akito panicked.

In the last timeline, he always had a hard time dealing with Kuchisakes, especially RED Kuchisakes.

Hearing how they scream and laughed as they chased him through Shibuya's foggy streets, feeling the slashes from it's sheers. It was horrible.

And what made it worst was the time when KK was taken from him, leaving Akito all alone and powerless in a visitor invested city.

He could still remember the Kuchisake that ambushed him while trying to save KK. It nearly killed him, and Akito was still unsure how he managed to escape with only a scar on his back from it's sheers.

After that he just developed a fear of Kuchisakes. KK in the last timeline thankfully didn't tease him and usually took over if a Kuchisake was attacking.

But now? Akito didn't have KK to take over. He was too afraid to admit his phobia to this KK in fear of being laughed at.

Akito flinched when a hand touched his shoulder. It was a light touch, barely even there, but enough to get Akito's attention.

This made Akito panic even more. No one was supposed to be at the base today!

The light touch leaves and someone sits down beside him on the floor.

Slowly looking over, Akito sees it was Ed, and he had... a rabbit?

Akito blinks, looking at Ed and the rabbit in confustion. "Ed?"

Ed just holds the rabbit out, silently gesturing for Akito to hold it.

This leads to Akito cuddling the rabbit, which he learns was a girl and her name was Muffin. She was Ed's support rabbit.

After few minutes of cuddling Muffin, Akito finally calms down and timidly looks at Ed who was staring at him with worried eyes.

Akito ends up telling Ed what triggered his panic attack, which leads to the rest of the team finding it out as well. Thankfully, no one laughed at his fear and even tried to help him with it.

Now for the final person on KK's team. Rinko.

She was the hardest nut to crack, as she didn't trust Akito and Mari since day one. She was more than a little rude at times, and kept giving them distrustful glares.

But after Erika started talking to Mari, Akito noticed how Rinko was slowly, but surely softening up to them.

The moment Akito knew Mari won Rinko over was when the woman gave Mari a head pat after she came back from a successful hunt with Erika.

As for Akito himself, it was when Rinko noticed how he was eyeing her bike with interest and asked if he knew anything about bikes.

They ended up spending time in the garage together, tinkering away at Rinko's bike and just talking about random things.

Once Akito knew that KK and KK's team fullied trusted him and Mari, the siblings took the group of to meet their Nekomata friends.

It was funny seeing their reactions. Erika in particaular looked like she acsended when some Nekomatas kittens started demanding pets from her.

Through as funny as it was to see the teams reaction's to the Nekomatas, it wasn't funny when Akito's Nekomata healer started getting on his case about if he's been drinking all his medicine.

"What medicine?" KK, along with the rest of the team, not including Mari who already knew about his condition, looked to Akito for answers.

"...And make sure he drinks one everyday! Heavens knows this boy needs all the help he can get!" Akito was pouting as his Nekomata healer was talking to KK. Geez, treat him like a kid, why don't they?

Despite his pouting, Akito was glad he didn't have to hide his condition or medicine anymore. Sure KK and the others, baring Mari, had questions about his past injuries, but thankfully they never pushed too much.

Besides that, Akito was happy. His sister was alive, he had friends, and yeah, he still had to deal with Hannya, Shibuya, and the possiblity of Mari, KK, Rinko, and Erika dying again, and still debating whether or not he should tell KK and the others about him being a time traveler, but for now, all was well.

"What are you smiling about, pretty boy?" KK's voice knocks him out his thoughts. Akito just hums, his smile becoming soft as he glances at KK. "Oh, no reason."

KK squints at him, clearly not believing his words. It made Akito laugh. "Keep squinting like that, old man, and your face will get stuck like that!"

"Old- I told you to stop calling me that, you brat!"

Akito only laughs harder at KK's indignant yells.

Yep. Today was a good day.

There is so much I want to say about this au... but this au is probably the most inherit spoiler risk out of everything I've written on the side. That said, I love it, and it would not be surprising if this turns into a legitimate sequel in the far, far future when I've finished OT&T.

Your scenario, Anon, is basically exactly what would happen but for one little twist.

Ashlyn would have been kept a secret after the war for a few reasons WHICH I CANNOT SPELL OUT, but should be somewhat understandable. She's still kicking around somewhere but only a select few know about it. Then Time Travel! Ashlyn comes in.

Bumblebee is not one of the bots that know where Original! Ash is, so he thinks Time! Ashlyn = Original! Ash... this results in some miscommunication since Time! Ashlyn hails from Season 1 and not the friggin sequel.

Strongarm and Sideswipe, do not know Ashlyn as an actual person. Original! Ash spawned a few rumors and ghost stories via her hijinks, but that's it.

Grimlock only knows Decepticon prison gossip. There are a lot of stories. He believes every single one.

Starscream, Soundwave (who would last longer than 10 minutes in a fight damn it), and yes, both big Ms have their own separate reactions that are a lot more familiar.

HOWEVER, S1 and Sequel Ash are very different with very different understandings and effects on the world at large. Bee would be trying to keep the Ash sightings on the down low while frantically dialing Ratchet (who has been mysteriously missing for a few years... wonder if there's a reason for that). Original! Ash is a still mysterious little mind-breaker who fully entered her doom era. Travler! Ashlyn is still bound by anxiety and working off tv knowledge that is no longer applicable. She still knows a concerning amount of stuff and can predict characters to a scary extent, but 25% of her knowledge is wrong.

She's figuring that out real quick, but that doesn't explain why the government has a warrant for her detainment.

Back to my seasonal wives au because I can.

So, as explained in the previous post, the seasonal wives are the chosen temporary partners of the four seasons, aka the Bridgerton brothers. Think of it as like a sacrificial bride type of situation. The wives can be wives for either just a season or a few years. They are marked over their hearts, and when the mark disappears, they are done with their duty. They are seen as very desirable after and are well compensated. Each town offers up a bride based on a rotation schedule.

Kathony - Fall

Mark: A tree with multi colored leaves

Fall is probably one of the busiest seasons, from bringing in the harvest to gathering supplies for winter. The trees change color, and nature prepares to go dormant. Anthony has a lot on his plate during this season. Thankfully, he's got Kate there to force him to sit down and take a break. He was so serious before her, now she could have him playing. I'm the leaves with her with just one look. Despite how good Kate has been for Anthony, she wasn't the original choice. Anthony was going to originally mark her sister Edwina, but Kate had mistaken Anthony for a creep and got in his face. Trying to create some distance, Anthony tried to push her back but instead marked her. Well damn now he's stuck with her for at least the season. Anthony has probably had the most brides among his brothers, but a lot of his brides were more like business transactions than him desiring true companionship.

Benophie - Winter

Mark: Snowflakes

Benedict, like his season, is one of the most fickle of the brothers. He has actually switched brides mid-season because he felt like it, much to Anthony's annoyance. He really enjoys designing each snowflake. But his artist bohemian lifestyle can cause some issues with his responsibilities. Thus leading to fluffy snow one day and storms the next. Sophie's there to keep him on track, and inquire his mercy should he lose his temper. Benedict completely missed his choosing ceremony because he spotted Sophie in the crowd and decided he was gonna make her the new winter bride. It took him majority of fall to find Sophie again. By random luck he found her while she was doing some shopping for her employers and then proceeded to whisk her away. Sophie was pissed her shopping went to waste.

Polin - Spring

Mark: Blooming flowers

Colin and Penelope met randomly before she was chosen for a bride. Penelope was enjoying the spring's rain and dancing in it. A gust of wind took her bonnet, and it proceeded to hit Colin in the face. They struck up a friendship, and Colin honestly spent more time with her than his bride at the time. Penelope developed feelings for him during their friendship, but he left when summer came. She thought he was a travler based on his stories, so she believed him a nice what if. The next year is Penelope's hometown's turn to have a spring bride chosen. Colin recognized Penelope and placed his mark on her. As spring Colin's duty is to bring nature out of the dormant state, it was put in and breathe new life in. It is a delicate process, and unfortunately, Colin has a temper possibly the worst of his brothers. That's where Penelope steps in to either calm him down or fight back with him. She helps him find the best ways to help revive nature whether to be gentle with it or give it some tough love.

Grucy - Summer

Mark: The sun

Lucy is the newest of the wives and was picked by the other three. Gregory was having trouble finding a wife and love like his brothers had. He falls in and out of love too quickly. So he decided why not. Maybe to help find a good wife, he should consult his sisters in-laws. He asked his in-laws to please help him with this aeason's choosing. So they did just that. When one wasn't busy helping their husband with his season, she joined the other two as they looked through the town that would be responsible for producing the bride. They found Lucy. Since Gregory couldn't technically approach her until his season came he wrote letters and sent them via his in-laws. Lucy was surprised to see how much older tje brides were. She would have thought they were lying if they didn't have the undisputed proof of their marks. Gregory's job is probably one of the chillest of the brothers. His main responsibility is to make sure the growth Colin started in spring kept going through the summer, so it was ready for Anthony when fall came. There were a few summer plants he could harvest but nothing as big as Anthony's. It can get rather boring but Lucy is there to help keep him on track.

Sulpher had been looking for years for his guardian, but none of them felt right. And it didn’t help that it was dangerous. Warlords and scavengers all looking to kill a stray ghost, take out any potential competition. It had to be smart if it wanted to last more than a day. And it had been!

It was good at ducking and hiding, using others Ghosts (which hurt it) and other guardians and mortals to hide. Smart enough to last years, traveling the earth, from continent to continent. 

Until it found a ship, a massive one that it could easily hide in. And hide it did.

Sulpher hid from scavengers that had been trailing after it, wanting to pick off a new light for fun and to show they were good. It was sad, really, but…

It also felt the pull other Ghosts described. A pull and tug that made it a little careless as it slipped into the ship, hovering and wondering. 

The ship was old and.. Odd. The things in it massive, like it was build for a giant. Odd shaped objects on the massive table, scattered around. Gems scattered across the table, three times Sulphers size, and an peice broken and rusting. Taken over by time. 

Many things were like this, broken and old, rusting over or covered in moss where the ship had cracked open. Old holograms that glitched and worbled, half broken and barely showing signs of a life once lived. 

But Sulpher was drawn to the cockpit, where a form was hunched over in a massive chair. The leather had deteriorated, now little more than a metal shell. 

And in that metal shell was another one, looking somewhere between male and female, one long set of claws stretched out to grasp at something on the dash, the other pressed against its head. Long and slim, frame looking half torn up and a substance long dried on the floor. Face looking.. Peaceful and sad, like they regretted something. 

It was hard to tell in the dark what they were, or how much damage they had sustained. But.. Sulpher felt that pull, to this person. 

“Please work.. I hope you’re my guardian.” It shook its shell and flared, light casting across the room and over the broken frame-

And the being onlined with a sharp gasp, jerking back with golden eyes going wide. Claws scrambled across broken buttons, tearing up more of the broken thing as long wrecked systems rapidly fixed themselves and onlined.

“Wh…what…?” They’re voice was soft and raspy, shaking as they slowly looked around at the broken ship, trying to peace things together. They didn’t remember… anything. Not their name, who they were… 

Pieces of a life they couldn’t put together. 

“Your my guardian!! Thank the Travler I finally found you! I thought I never would!” It buzzed with excitement as the being slowly stood, towering like a mountain and slowly looked itself over. Talons trembled before retracting back, looking more like little cat claws. How did he…

He shook his head, taking a vent and dismissing them all on instinct. He knew… he knew what that ment. Knew he needed fuel, special fuel… 

He looked at the… floating orb that was still buzzing and rambling in excitement, Slowly, he held out a hand and the thing nuzzled into it. It had such brazen trust in him, that he wouldn’t hurt it, tear it to shreds-

It made something in him shudder and writhe in protest, angry that something saw it as trustworthy. 

He slowly curled his hand around it and brought it closer, to the crook of his neck where the collar ridge was highest. Letting it nuzzle into the small amount of warmth it provided. 

“Do you… know who I am?” It was asked quietly, nervously as he slowly looked around, steps slow and soft. 

It was quiet before speaking, peering over his collar ridge. 

“I don’t know, but maybe it was something with stars?”

“Dont call me that.” The snap came instinctually, something in him writhing in rage at the idea of the name. Something bitter and hurt, snapping at nothing and everything. “Sorry… I don’t… I don’t think that was my name.” 

Hand resting over where the little thing rested, accepting the quiet apology with a soft rumble as he slowly started to poke around the ship. The things in it were old and rusted, or long having rotted away. But he found things, little bits and pieces he slowly placed together. 

His name started with a G, but someone called him Ghost. He wasn’t from this solar system, but had felt a connection to it. 

“My name is Sulpher, by the way! Im what’s called a Ghost!” It chirped, bright green eye looking up at the new light. A golden eye looked down at him, a soft smile gracing his torn up features. 

A hole in his cheek that showed many sharpened teeth, the top ones lightly lapping over the other ones. Sulpher twirled happily as the being grabbed things. A mask and visor that it put on almost immediately, some weapons that it seemed to know exactly where they were on instinct. 

Pulling open a piece of armour to look at a wicked looking weapon in his forarm. 

“So… where…?” Unsure as it looked around the broken ship, ghosts of memories haunting him just out of reach. 

“There’s no… dedicated place yet.” Sulpher said sheepishly, pressing more into the mechs collar. 

“It’s.. hard out there. There are factions, clans and stuff, but… a lot of people are fend for yourself. Im sorry, its not an ideal thing, but.. We need you.” Nuzzling against that massive hand, letting the massive being take its time. 

And it did, slowly looking around before looking at the broken entrance. 

“...okay.” His voice was soft, hesitant almost before sitting up a little straighter. “Okay. Lets do this.” Taking a deep breath, vent on his sides sucking in cold air and letting it out. 

Then he kicked down the door, making snow and dirt blast out from the impact, gold visor glowing as he stepped out into the snow. 

The scavangers booked it after that, not wanting to deal with whatever that little ghost found.

FUNKIN TRAVLERS AU

Plot Summary: In this Au BF is faced with an antagonist that wishes to disrupt the flow time in a varies amount of worlds for unknown reasons. The antagonist steals GF and starts to head into another world, BF is able to follow them by jumping into the antagonists portal. The two end up having a rap battle as they are traveling through the portal. As the song ends BF throws his mic and it connects with his opponents head which causes a little bit of power to leak out of his body which goes into BF. The villain then bitch smacks BF and he is launched prematurely out of the portal into an unknown timeline.

Boyfriend.XML: In this au BF has gained the ability to travel between timelines and dimensions thanks to his battle with the antagonist. BF can't control these powers as they happen seemingly at random. He is similar to his canon counterpart outside of being noticeably sadder and just a bit more serious then normal (This is due to him having lost GF and being on the search for her)

Baba: Unlike they're canon incarnation Baba is far more agressive and violent due to the antagonists meddeling. Despite this fact Baba and Boyfriend developed quite the friendship. The former essientally becoming a pet for the latter. The two are often known for getting into heaps of trouble but always somehow getting out scot free.

Hornet: She doesn't diverge too much in terms of personality in this au. But she does become a sort of older sister figure to BF and Baba. She is often the only one being somewhat rational and is often the one that gets the other two out of dangerous situations that they caused. Despite this she's grown attached to the two and does her best to keep them safe.

So, what’s with the scorn-Peixe then? I wanna hear everything

sort of kind of an amensia au? okay so basically, Mab, in that first mission, dies much more graphically than in the game. She's torn apart by Navota. And the newly risen Awoken Guardian is terrified. She fears Death, she fears Pain, and all she can focus on is her fear.

And so she runs. And hides. And she just so happens to hide in the cargo hold of a ship headed to the tangled shore. She suffocates down there, several times on the trip. No need to oxygenate it. And when she wakes up, she's on the shore. She runs out, lost, not knowing who she is, afraid.

And she runs into someone. Another awoken, with golden eyes and a sense of stern confidence. He is what she isn't. He's unafraid. And she asks him for help.

And Uldren Sov, who had been following her through the sights of his sniper rifle long before she knew he was there, takes her back to the Scorned Barons.

She's given two gifts. A pair of Scorned Baron robes, and a name. Vridi. And she's put to work. A slave to of the Barons, servant to Uldren Sov.

She's put to work disassembling and oiling pistols and rifles, cleaning sludge from the joints of Scorn Walkers, preparing dried meat rations, and any other demeaning job the barons could think.

And, after a few months, Vridi stopped being afraid. She grew confident enough to begin weapons training after her tasks were done. After a year, she was entrusted with an escort mission.

And on it went, a Guardian whose only knowledge of the Travler was learned while sitting at the feet of The Fanatic. An Awoken whose only memories of her home world are stories of avarice and arrogance painted by the Prince of The reef in the cold hours of a morning patrol. She's more scorn than soldier.

And Vridi is happy that way. Surrounded by monsters and madmen, she has finally found a place where she isn't afraid.

🐸Anon trust me, me and my dear friend over at @turnaboutyandere have discussed this AU so much its not even funny 😳😳😳

I won't go into detail because requests are closed ^^; but for Yandere Barok van Zieks in particular, he's going to do everything in his power to make sure that S/O stays in his time period. Even if that means he has to break the device that they used to travel there.

Yandere Sherlock would be so marvelled by S/O's tales of the future that he'd practically beg them to take him back with them for a nosey. From there he'd just...never leave S/O's side, when the time came for S/O to go back home without him, he'd "confiscate" their time travel device for research purposes.

Okay as much as I love a good AU, there is not nearly enough exploration of all those good, good canon-compliment moments in ATLA. 

Thinking about the immediate aftermath of Aang finding out about the Air Nomads, knowing he had nightmares about it all throughout season one. Him reconcilling the fact that he’s living in a different word. Dealing with the fact that he’s a time travler. Aang turning to love and being scared every day that it could be taken away from him. Aang being scared that Katara and Sokka could be hurt or would leave. This kid just trying to find familiar places and feelings while coming to terms with his own loss and responsibility. 

Thinking about Sokka and Arnook grieving Yue after her sacrifice. Arnook who may have known for the entirety of Yue’s life that her connection with the spirits posed this risk. Sokka coming to terms with his own spirituality, knowing how he felt about it at the beginning of the series, and wondering if there were cosmic forces working against him. His feelings of guilt and regret and anger that we know he buried for the rest of the series. Those two loving Yue so much, being proud of her, and facing the overwhelming unfairness of the universe. 

What about the Freedom Fighters? How they had to come to terms with the fact that they followed Jet and almost killed innocent people. The rift that caused? The realization Jet had before he came back in season two where he realized he couldn’t let his anger consume him for his sake and for the sake of others. Smellerbee and Longshot knowing and loving him enough to follow him, but coming to their own realization about how they needed to start over for their sake. The conversation they had to have had about change. The transition from season one Jet to season two Jet and how the freedom fighters breaking up affected him-- affected all of them. 

Ty Lee and Mai after they were imprisoned having to come to terms with cutting Azula out of their lives. Ty Lee meeting and bonding with the Kyoshi warriors? The reconcilliation of those feelings and formation of those alliances? These two girls finally finding and accepting real happiness, finally free of expectations and self doubt. 

And Suki? Shifting her stance on isolationism after meeting Sokka, Aang, and Katara and deciding to risk it to help other people. The work she did at the refugee camp and the time in between when she found Appa. What happened there? And her being fifteen and sent to the highest security Fire Nation prison in the middle of the ocean, across the world from her home, not knowing if her warriors are okay, and the only hope this strong and independent girl is left with is that someone she loves will eventually find her. 

So much of canon-compliment ATLA focuses on post-Day of Black Sun when Zuko joins, which is understandable as we love seeing the group complete, but there’s so little exploration and discussion of moments like this and I wish we as a fandom would give them a little bit more love.

What is that festival of travelers?

The festival of travelers is the graduation of young cookies who finally get to choose their path in life.They are given courses since a young age for whatever they want to take and can change courses at any time. The travelers are the graduates that leave to never come back. Usually once all leave one is found dead the next day killed by marchers. Evil spirits of villagers who died during the original war of protection were they tried to wipe out all other tribes in the area. If stared at you will become a target of them.
