AU story:

In this AU it kinda takes some ideas from the Archie comics. The Robotnik family worked with the Acorn kingdom, but upon discovering a hidden echidna temple under the castle, Eggman becomes obsessed with it, enraged that the kingdom has hidden what could be, ultimate power. Against his grandfather's wishes, he and maria run experiments, only for them to fail, leading to Maria and Eggman's parents vanishing, along with several mobians. Eggman escapes, but Maria is struck with a strange chaos ilness that seems to be nullified through contact with Chaos energy... but the Chaos emeralds are off limits. Eggman is exiled, but he vows to return for the emeralds and take the castle with his genious creations. Despite Gerald and Maria being under strickt watch, Gerald Robotnik tries to create a living emerald in secret, underground, drawing up the god of chaos and creating Shadow... But he's found out as Eggman attacks for the first time. He escapes with Shadow and Maria in the chaos, passing off Shadow as an orphan from the city. Suspicions arise as Shadow begins showing strange powers... it isn't long before the war catches up to them, and Sonic meets the mysterious hedgehog again, years later.

oh i had a thought btw and i wanted to share in the chat we're in but i got no access at the time i'm typing this BUT I FIGURED I COULD SAY IT TO YOU

me and my roommate after seeing the movie had a thought about what Shadow would do next after the events of the movie and the scene at the end credits of him surviving.

we imagined like...what if he just tries to wander the earth, slightly aimless but also trying to take stuff in. he had spent so long here and most of his exposure was through Maria and doing things with her. And that was it. 50 years he was locked away, and when he got out he just went straight into mission mode and even after saving the earth, it occurred to him he probably hadn't seen much of it.

and the idea of him somehow being found my sonic and the gang and them offering to house him but him declining, thinking he caused them too much trouble and it'd be best to keep his distance... even though he wouldn't know where to go and where's a safe place for him to not be bothered by gun agents or humans likely after them, him especially. Heck, Sonic even offering to show him around some places, not even Green Hills but just in places he knows off the top of his head. Lil bonding moment, nice moment between the two despite Shadow not knowing what the hell Sonic is talking about with his ramblings.

And then the final piece of Sonic realising that Shadow could maybe stay in his old cave, it served as his safe spot for so long so maybe it can serve as Shadows. Shadow even seeing Sonic's little drawing on the wall and him saying he drew it the first night he came here, just showing he did have someone he loved and lost. And my roommate even said the idea of him choosing the stay and even draw a picture of him and Maria (maybe not the doctor after all that happened but maybe so, who knows how he feels about him now).

and then just him very very possible occasionally maybe hanging out with the boys... or at least the offer is there. and getting slowly introduced and catching up on things he's missed these last 50 years...

ANYWHO I'LL STOP HAHA

I can totally see Shadow roaming for a while. Learning about the world, people watching.

He had never left the facility before, and this was all completely new to him. Maybe Maria told him about things while they were together, movies she'd seen, places she'd like to visit when she was older and could strike out on her own.

And maybe he visited them, thinking about how Maria would have loved this, or hated that, or been so excited by this other thing. It would hurt so much that he was seeing these places alone. That she hadn't had a chance to travel and see or do everything she'd dreamed of.

And maybe when it hurts too much, when he can't take the heartache of not sharing these experiences with the one person he loved, he would return to Green Hills. He wouldn't specifically seek out Sonic and crew. He'd formed an alliance with the blue hedgehog during a time of war, and he wasn't sure if that friendship extended any further than that. But he could sense the chaos energy within Sonic, and Knuckles, and from the Master Emerald. And that was comforting.

But maybe Tails has some antennas posted around town. (Or he hacked into GUN's satellites.) And maybe he gets a blip when a spike of chaos energy appears. Sonic goes to check it out and finds Shadow, sitting alone on a cliff overlooking the town.

They talk. Sonic tries to invite Shadow to the house, but he refuses. He'd injured Tom, he doesn't deserve their kindness. Sonic tries to argue, but Shadow is stubborn and makes to teleport away, when Sonic calls out to wait, he knows the perfect place Shadow can hide away when he needs someplace quiet.

And he leads Shadow to his old cave.

"It ain't the Ritz," Sonic quips, before catching himself. "Wait. Do you know about the Ritz?"

Shadow turns to him with an eyebrow raised. "The crackers?"

Sonic snickers. "Right. Nevermind. Anyway, it can get a little damp when it rains, and a little cold when it snows, and a little dark when it's night . . . but it was my home before I found my family."

Shadow stops before the crayon mural on the wall. He stares at it for a long time.

"It will do."

Sonic smiles. "Wow, high praise from the Ultimate Lifeform. Okay, well, I can bring you some food and comics and stuff to keep you entertained--"

"I don't need your handouts."

The blue hedgehog nods with a sigh. "Right. Mr. I'm So Edgy can take care of himself."

"That's right."

Sonic doesn't say anything for a moment, and when he does, his voice is softer, the joking lilt gone. "Listen, as one formerly lonely hedgehog to another, it's nice to have people care about you. Worry about you. So just . . . don't turn your back on people who want to help, okay?"

Shadow stands quietly for a moment. "Fine."

And Shadow isn't always in the cave (heaven forbid we say he lives in it, amirite SEGA?) but Sonic leaves him things anyway. Cans of food, books he thinks Shadow would like, lots of blankets.

And maybe Sonic tells the family about Shadow taking shelter in his old cave, and the next time Shadow reappears there, it's better weather sealed and more comfortable and homey. The opening is covered with an actual door, one that keeps animals and rain out.

And maybe there's a note left. One that tells Shadow they don't blame him for what he did to Tom. They understand he was stressed and confused and hurting. They forgive him. And their home is always open for him, if he were hurt, or hungry, or just wanted some company.

And maybe, one night, when the family is sitting down for supper, a flash of light appears in the backyard. Ozzy runs to the door, barking at the sudden intruder in his territory, Knuckles close behind.

And there in the middle of the yard, stands Shadow. Looking very uncomfortable. Looking like he's second guessing his presence. Looking like he's just about to teleport away.

The family stands in the doorway, looking out at the black and red hedgehog. Without a word, they turn and head back to the supper table, but leave the kitchen door open.

The choice is his. Join them. Or leave.

He stands there for a long few moments, watching as they sit down, dishing out the food. Maddie moves to the cabinet and brings another plate to the table, placing it between her and Sonic. Silverware joins it. And a glass of water.

Shadow is frozen.

He takes a step forward. And another.

And takes his place at the table.

He doesn't move in with the Wachowskis. He's not there all the time. But they always make sure to have plenty of food to go around if he chose to join them.

There's always a place at their table for a lonely hedgehog.

The guy who made this tweet later said he was joking, but you wouldn't be able to tell since there are a lot of Sonic fans who say this stuff sincerely. They'll turn on a game within days of its release and say they "realized it sucks". So after playing it for a week and loving it, the controls suddenly became terrible? Either way, this "joke" pretty much confirms Sonic "fans" like shitting on Sonic games and making the franchise they claim to love look worse just for the hell of it. I don't know why, as a Sonic fan, you would want to make a game look bad, even though it's not. We all should how people on the internet treat Sonic. If you say a Sonic game is bad and don't clarify that you're joking, most will take your words at face value and just run with it.

There's also the problem of Sonic fans feeling the need to shit on one Sonic game to prop up their favorite. Whenever people compliment a Sonic game, it's never just "This game is awesome, it controls well, I love the story, etc". It's always "This game is awesome and way better than garbage like [insert Sonic game here]! Too bad Sega doesn't make stories and gameplay like this anymore."

I've seen Sonic Unleashed fans on Metacritic give Sonic Colors low scores simply because its story was more comedic and simplistic. Why do Sonic fans feel the need to make Sonic games look bad, especially Sonic Colors, a great game that critics generally liked? Putting down one Sonic game to make your fave look better isn't gonna draw people to the franchise, y'know?

I'm sure the only reason he said he was joking was because he got blowback. He made the mistake of having an actual opinion instead of just following the herd off a cliff.

It's really just the inverse of the way everyone talks about Sonic Forces. People decided before the game even came out that Sonic Forces would be bad. And so after it came out that was the only acceptable opinion to have about it. People decided that Shadow Generations would be the best shit ever and a return to form for Sonic. So now after it's come out that is the only acceptable opinion to have about it.

People make up what their opinion about a Sonic game is before they even fucking play it. If they ever actually play it.

So when someone DOES actually bother playing it themselves, and they realize "hey this isn't like what everyone was saying it is like" they get mobbed and browbeaten into conformity. Which is annoying. I do not agree with unleash_yt's opinion, but it disgusts me that people basically punished him for expressing it and forced him into compliance with the accepted majority consensus.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for someone to get swept up in the hype train for a game, play it themselves, and realize "wait this actually blows ass." It happens all the time. Look at No Mans Sky. Look at Duke Nukem Forever. Look at Daikatana. It is a routine happenstance in the video game industry. And people really should learn by now to NOT get swept up in the hype machine. I was extremely critical of the hype machine around Shadow Generations for this very reason. I was saying at the time that Shadow Gens is just going to be a short little expansion pack for an existing Sonic game that was already short on its own, and while it would sustain ME a hyper Sonic fan, it would NOT sustain people who are more casual.

And. Like. I was right =P but because the majority consensus had already been decided about Shadow Generations before it came out, now nobody is allowed to deviate from it lest they suffer the retribution of Being An Individual. Like, I think his complaints are weird and dumb and wrong. The controls are just exactly the same as Sonic Frontiers. And the level design is no different from the level design of any other Boost era Sonic game. But he's allowed to just not like the game. At least in my book he's allowed. Obviously in the book of the Sonic """""fans""""" he's not allowed to have an independent opinion, he MUST conform to the majority consensus OR ELSE.

Yeah I can't fucking stand that shit. You can't convince me your wife is beautiful by telling me how ugly every other woman at the bar is. At best it's just going to make me hate YOU, and at worst it's going to make me start thinking your wife is a bloated cow. Sonic fans have an EXTREMELY bad habit of this and it's completely idiotic because it can ONLY possibly appeal to people who already share that opinion. If the basis of your glazing up Sonic Unleashed is "SONIC FORCES SURE DOES SUCK ASS DOESN'T IT LOL" then only people who already like Sonic Unleashed and dislike Sonic Forces are going to agree with it. People who like Sonic Forces and don't like Sonic Unleashed are just going to be alienated. And people who think both games suck are just going to think you're a dumbass for thinking there's a difference when they're both the same garbage.

People need to go to the store and buy some fucking self esteem and figure out how to talk positively about the things they like entirely on their own merits without senselessly bringing up other pieces of media to compare them against for no reason.

Staring at Four and Kay and rotating them in my mind

// I haven't shown much of their dynamic outside Four teasing Kay but generally Kay's pretty normal around Four, he just gets flustered from her teasing and what not. In fact Kay also likes to kinda tease Four- in a very friend like way for instance holding something she wants above her head till she says please.

Kay and Four met about- 4 years prior to this blog or 2 years prior to Splat3, I am attempting to write out this first meeting so once it's done it'll be posted here and maybe on AO3 (however I'm a slow writer- might take... some time lol)

Four has saved Kay's butt on multiple occasions however there was one specific time where she full on saved him from getting shot, it was during this case- Kay had been lured out for getting too close to solving it, Four had tailed him and from the shadows using a charger prevented the assailant from shooting Kay. While there are many reasons he loves Four this was the moment he realised.

The moment Four realised she loved Kay- he was helping her with a mission, and while Four jumped over the fence no problem, Kay's suspenders (that he doesn't wear properly) got caught on said fence causing him to fall and land himself upside down against the fence. Of course Four found it hilarious and it was just this kind of "Oh I love this idiot" moment.

The reason Four, who is much more confident in her feelings then Kay is, hasn't confessed is because 1. she finds him getting flustered cute. 2. she wants him to actually have the confidence in their relationship and 3. she won't admit it but she's actually scared of ruining their relationship- she worries that she isn't actually good enough (which is the same reason Kay won't confess, that and while he knows Four likes him as a friend he doesn't think her feelings are actually anymore than that)

The pair share a few interests, they have similar tastes in music- Four loves it when Kay shares his music, it might not always be her taste but it makes him happy so it makes her happy- they also both like video games- Four's more into RPG or action games akin to like Sonic or Persona whereas Kay is more into puzzles and horror like Resident Evil.

They understand and respect each others boundaries but ironically they are also the except to the rule like in Fours case- Four hates physical contact and others being in her personal space to which Kay then goes out of his way to not be too close to Four but Four actually likes being next to him but she also does very much appreciate the fact Kay understands that boundary.

OH- There's this one little story idea I had for them- something silly not really agent related- Four gets herself caught out in the rain, luckily she's slightly more water resistant but Kay runs into a very soaked Four. Obviously he's extremely worried for her despite her waving off his concerns but eventually he convinces her to at least get indoors and get dried. Four points out his place is closer and they should go there to which he reluctantly agrees. Once arriving Kay instructs Four to stay by the door while he grabs her a towel which he gently throws upon her head once returning. Four being Four then starts to a bit too roughly dry her head to which Kay promptly stops her- reminding her that she's still in very melty state and she'll hurt herself doing it like that. Kay points her to the bathroom where she can go dry herself and get changed (into one of his old t-shirt/shorts) Four complies and returns shortly after dried and with her soggy agent gear which she hands to Kay who throws it into the dryer. He says it wont take long but Four points out its really late, she might as well just- crash at his place for the night- she'll just sleep on his couch. Kay is- a bit taken a back at the suggestion but realises she's right by the time her gear will be dried it'll be super late. So he agrees, reluctantly, to which Four wastes no time in running to his living room and checking through all the games he has (cause she wants to play some) She finds that he's got a game she has been dying to play and begs him to let her try it, obviously he lets her (seeing her face when he agreed was- way too adorable for him) Kay sits and watches Four play for a bit before ending up asleep on the couch next to her, when Four realises this she turns off the game before just- leaning her head against his shoulder for a bit before falling sleep herself.

Kay definitely plays rank in his free time, he's tried to convince Four to join but every time she refuses- at first he thinks it's because she's too high a rank for him (He's like A-) but he learns it's actually because she too low a rank to join which major surprise considering the feats he's seen her do. When he finds out he actually offers to help teach her which she initially refuses, pointing out how her whole family are S/X rank and none of them have been able to teach her. Kay understands but does point out that he doesn't play like her family, they're strict and pro, taking rank very seriously where as he's just- a causal player and is much more loose about playing the games and that might be the approach she needs. Four is yet to actually agree to train with him (more out of embarrassment for herself) but she has started to consider taking up his offer.

Pride Month 2024 Sonic Sketches

Made a few sketches for pride month, kind of started out with a comic were Silver comes out to his mom as bisexual along with a pic of Blaze after telling her dad then decided to draw everyone at a pride parade & showing their pride

Everyone here is kind of based on my own ideas for the characters especially Mephiles since anything involving him has to do with the version I made for him for post-06 reboot. Also some stuff is in color(Blaze's forehead gem, Cosmo's necklace, Amy's headband, Sonic's hair clip, ghost aura stuff) cause it seemed fitting due to the meanings behind the colors on the pride flag.(Like purple for soul)

Like the text says Blaze told her dad & he made her a frog hat to support her. He's a nice/friendly guy that cares a lot, it's unfortunate that Blaze's late mom was so terrible & left with Blaze for her own intentions.

Rouge & Knuckles at pride, I was a little worried about how well I got Rouge's bisexual flag makeup. I eventually fixed up the lipstick & added matching earrings. Knuckles unintentionally looks like a pirate cause I can't draw his hat at angles. So yeah my version of Knuckles & Rouge are bi, Knuckles use to date Sonic(in my ver) & Rouge has some interest in women in the past.(Especially Topaz at one point)

Here's Blaze & Silver, Silver has a bi flag cardigan. Pretty much at some point the two realized together they're bi. They eventually told their parents(well Blaze's mom is gone so she only told her dad) & they luckily have supportive families.

Surge isn't in my Lost Prince stuff but I thought she & Amy were cute together in the fanart people made. I also think Metal was interesting with Amy, at some point gets with her in the future in my Lost Prince AU. Metal at some point stops working for Eggman & tries to make their own identity after a talk with Sonic especially since they were becoming more sentient. Metal wasn't sure what he wanted but eventually figured things out.

The context of the sign is that this is meant to be Tails, Cosmo(revived as a plant/mobian chipmunk hybrid) & Cream when they're older & in their teens or later. The time skip is mostly cause at the moment Cream is pretty young in present day, Tails is too but he's slightly older. I guess you could say Tails & Cosmo had a puppy love or something then things got serious when they were older when Cosmo returned then later Cream joined them.

Cream is pretty accepting of who she's into, I dunno what Cosmo is into(I guess technically bi since she's dating Tails & later Cream when Cream joined the couple), Tails I think maybe straight but I dunno. At the very least Tails is supportive of his friends & brother.

Context for this is just I wanted to add Vanilla & her late spouse so them from the future. Added Vector cause him & Vanilla are kinda cute so he's her relationship from the future. So Vanilla's late partner is my OC Cake who despite willing to be called a dad by their kids(Cream & at some point Sonic cause I like the idea of the rabbits adopting him) & only them, Cake was nonbinary. The rabbit family is pretty accepting of people.

Decided to bring in Gadget & Zero/Infinite, the guy in the corner is Zero's late dad who I'll explain at a late point

And then there's these three. I'm not entirely sure what my thoughts on Shadow & Mephiles are, at some point I think I realized demisexual felt right for Shadow. Like I said before any of my thoughts on Mephiles are specifically for the version I made of him for post-reboot in Sonic 06. I was originally thinking of giving him the male gay pride flag but given what I've done with him in Lost Prince AU I kinda realized he fits in with demisexual too. While my version of Sonic identifies as male he likes dressing in whatever he wants & isn't exactly gender-conforming.

Sonic mostly dressed up for pride & tied a pride flag to his neck like a cape. For some reason Mephiles is the only one I tried making designs for on his outfit.

Here's a cropped version of the comic. Pretty much Silver & Blaze realized they were bisexual, at some point Silver got the courage to tell his mom & later his dads.*

For some context Silver's mom is male & in a relationship with men*, he's pretty accepting so Silver doesn't need to worry much. However his worries are understandable because of being around Blaze a lot & seeing how her mom treated her. Blaze's mom was strict & caused a lot of issues that Blaze is still recovering from. Blaze left with Silver & Venice at some point leading to meeting her dad & becoming estranged from her mom. Her mom is gone now but as said Blaze is still recovering. Silver's family(along with Blaze's dad) understand & reassure Silver, Venice & Blaze that the three are accepted/safe.

*I dunno if the marriage is legal at best I know Silver's dad & his mom's marriage is legal. Venice's(Venice is Silver's half brother) dad went missing for a few years(Eggman was behind it) & ended up joining the relationship after being rescued/talking things out. Venice's dad was able to be part of the wedding as another groom but I dunno if this counts as official/legal by human standards.(I guess technically official by Mobian standards)

Thought I'd make a version without the color for everyone to see. The text about the frog hat is missing because it was connected to the frame I made for the comic involving Silver & his mom.

【TWORD STUFF UNDER THE RANT】

Merry chrisler my merry little spawn. The jolly day is nearing it's end and I've briefly come out of my break from the online platform to announce some small changes I've made in my pathetic life.

"Uh wouldn't you wait until New Year's to announce this?" Normally,yes, but I can't tell you Merry Chrisler on New Years eve now can I? *baps you with newspaper.*

Now. Off to a relevant topic that will help change this blog and hopefully my tiktok as well: I got an ipad! I can now use this wonderful object to draw/animate (once I fully figure out Procreate Dreams). As a little crimmus present to you, I gift you this little animation I made of Itura ans Rapture using a Snapcube sonic dub for an audio. Eat well, my children.

But outside of art, I'm looking into getting into other hobbies! Like puzzles! I used to do these all the time but eventually grew out of them. But Now I'm getting back into them! (Still fuckin pissed that I lost two pieces to the 2000 piece pokemon one I "finished"... oh yeah and I found my old pokemon binder)

Aside from that, I'm still a middle-class cog in the work force at my current job. I'm still learning how to not impulsively purchase useless items so that I can move out (which I am in the process of doing, but not sure when it'll happen. That future is undetermined.)

Things are looking up, though. I try and avoid my phone if I don't have to be near it (except to keep in contact with my wonderful boyfriend, merry Crisis to you, dear). I'll normally just do puzzles or clean pointless things around my house or use my Ipad and draw. Y'know. AVOIDING social media.

I hope mayyybe I can learn to use my photography camera... Yes I have a camera, but I don't really have a pc to upload the images to, so it's pointless for now. But I take nice high quality pictures just using my phone, so maybe I can take up photography one day?

In the end, I'm slowly improving. Work can be tiring, yes, but I might also get a raise because I'm exceeding expectations, which will really help out.

And, another irrelevant thing, I'm improving my diet too. Trying new things. Except cucumbers maybe, idk, they're just the most boring tasteless things I've had so far.

I hope maybe when I come back onto here and my other socials, I will be a more improved person, both as a person as well as an artist.

(Oh, and a little teaser for when I come back here, I made a new little oc I named Floogle. Here's some art of him + refrence I made of him as a test using Procreate on my new Ipad. He's quite the opposite of me, personality-wise. And maybe I'll aspire to be as positive as him. Maybe... but he will have to be saved for my grand return, whenever that may be)

How would Team Chaotix (Sonic) express love?

Talking about stuff that i randomly think of cuz yes. With Sonic, with Dinotrux and other things.. lets start with how i think Team Chaotix would express love to someone they like :')

Espio

Espio is very disciplined and very serious, so i think he would be honest about it to his crush. Espio has a sensitive side, so i think he would do kind things that are small but regocnizable, like writing letters, giving flowers etc. Espio would i think not be comfortable with physcial touch very soon, so he wouldnt be very physically affectionate in the beginning. I'd like to see Espio show his ninja weapons to his crush and explain how they work, wich ones are his favourites and wich ones he dislikes. Espio would i think also be very loyal and honest.

Vector

Vector is the biggest and strongest member of the Chaotix, so exposing his soft side can be pretty hard for him, but he is shown to give people chances. I think Vector would like to talk about music, but just a little thing that i think would be funny: if Vector allows his crush to wear his headphones, girlie has earned his trust 👏 Vector would i think be open about his own life and opinions, but also interested in his crush's life, returning questions like "how was your weekend?" Or "whats your favourite food?" Simple things, but he would want to know it. Vector would i think also be king of making dirty jokes with Charmy around who doesnt understand, simply because he wants to see what reaction he gets. Because he's a detective he can i think also IMMEDIATLY notice signs of cheating - wich he would carefully ask about, hes not gonna play dumb and act like he doesnt know something he knows. Vector is easy to handle and easy to talk to, so i think the more he likes someone the more talkative, protective and open he is to that person. Vector is loyal, so i don't think he would cheat or anything. He would i think be very respectful, listen to "no," and draw his own lines with respect.

Charmy

Would literally not know he's crushing until his friends tell him he is. He would tell his crush things like "i like you more then ___" or "you are so cool/pretty/awesome". Charmy would definitley be talkative and very extravert, cuz hes a kid, and would 100% crush on someone his age (like Cream). Because of that he won't seriously go dating unlike Espio and Vector. Charmy would i think start out by sharing things like snacks or his toys, or showing his crush drawings he made. He would probably think kissing is gross and prefer hugs or high fives. Charmy would i think also joke about Vector or Espio being in love in front of his crush to show off - like "LOOK, VECTOR IS CALLING HIS GIRLFRIEND!" "LOOK, SEE THAT PICTURE?! THATS ESPIO'S GIRLFRIEND!" "AWWW VECTOR/ESPIO IS IN LOVEEEE!" "EEW THAT IS GROSS!" only to discover he has a crush too 🤣 he would i think also show off all of his ✨️SuPeR cOoL dEtEcTiVe sKiLLs ✨️ We're talking about a kid here, so he would never directly tell his crush he likes her (probably bc he doesnt understand the whole "falling in love" thing very well yet) but he would i think want to spend time with his crush doing things like going outside or playing a game.

So decided to finally cave and share these two here. Cause you see, I quite enjoy exe stuff. These are two of my guys, and at the moment likely the only ones I'll share on here lol. Who knows perhaps I'll share the others some time, but to be fair these are the two with the most development.

Anyway these two are Unleashed and Fragment respectively.

Also here, take an alt of this artwork that shows Unleashed's other stuff going on. As you might be able to tell, for those of you that are familiar anyway, Unleashed is the one that influences how I draw Bound by Fate! Sonic lol.

Gonna chat about them below as well as share some other pics I've done of them. Warning, this is gonna be longish.

Alright so! First things first, these two don't come from the same like game universe things. They came from separate ones and just managed to find each other. Having both lost their Tails/Sonic they sort of adopted each other once they realized they didn't want to hurt each other.

Unleashed is from, as you might expect, a copy of Sonic Unleashed. Basically the game glitches out in one of the final cutscenes (the one where Dark Gaia takes back the last of its power from Sonic) this ends up corrupting not only the game, but Sonic. The entire world is more or less gone and Sonic now looks like the above pics. He spends a fair amount of time in what is more or less a void with nothing in it. It's there he begins to realize the nature of his existence and he gives himself a new name, since he doesn't really feel like Sonic anymore.

Eventually his game is dumped to make a rom, apparently whoever got ahold of his game didn't think to check it before trying to make a rom with it lol, this allows him to escape. He spends those first days and such exploring and picking fights with violent exes. He loses a lot in those early days, reluctantly returning to the dubious safety of his game when he needed somewhere to get away. What holds him back mainly is still clinging to the ideals of Sonic. To not kill, when his opponents have no such qualms. Eventually he would give this up to, and learn to be just as brutal as the world he'd found himself in. He would still always at his core be Sonic though, even if it might not really look like it.

Fragment on the other hand is a victim of an exe, and the only survivor at that. He comes from a game of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. He had to watch as the exe picked off Knuckles first and then Sonic. While the exe had been chasing down the trio Tails had been desperately trying to figure out a way to stop the exe. Until Sonic's sacrifice he didn't have a way, but Sonic managed to knock lose a scrap of code that Tails would eventually be able to use to stop the exe.

Their final confrontation was not far from the emerald shrine, and the exe had come in the form of Sonic in an attempt to throw off Tails.

Tails at this point had managed to lose a good chunk of his own code to attacks from the exe, hence his appearance. Though he was able to lure the exe right where he wanted them. Near a newly uncorrupted Master Emerald.

Using its power Tails was able to destroy the exe for good (well sorta, but that is perhaps a story for another day). Then he slowly started to fix up his world and take the time to properly mourn his friends. It was also around this time that he started calling himself Fragment, referring to his own condition. His code was sort of fragmented from the damage done to it, but he was stable at least.

Fragment and Unleashed met really by chance, but after a lot of reassurance from Fragment Unleashed agreed to go with him. The two have been inseparable ever since. Also! A fun fact. Unleashed only has Chip's bracelet because of Fragment. He found it in Unleashed's code and got it for him, also using it as a stabilizer of sorts for Unleashed.

I have... much more I could say about these two but I'll leave it here for now. Gives me an excuse to perhaps ramble about them again at some point. A request for something a little different than usual 🍑👑

Progress stuff below:

I haven't done progress shots in a bit and I think it's something I want to do more often because I like talking and blogging I guess haha.

Now that I have more experience illustrating digitally, this kind of direct reference drawing is MUCH easier to do digitally 😫honestly this felt like a self imposed challenge lol. BUT I did want to do some more traditional stuff because I feel that I had been doing a little too much digital, if that makes sense. It's nice to play with my markers and color pencils once in a while too!!

Doing the line art on this piece ESPECIALLY felt easier to do traditionally than digitally. For some reason, trying to do line art on a tablet screen feels too smooth or slippery or something. Lining traditionally feels easier, probably because I put so much pressure on the paper in the sketch phase that when the lining phase comes next, it feels like I'm just following the lines on the page like a train on a track ^_^

despite uploading a couple of illustrations colored with marker now, I still feel a bit like a novice when it comes to marker. I got a new pack of markers that I wanted to play with, which was even more motivation to return to paper for a bit. But honestly, I feel like I fudged the window color blending. I watched tutorials and stuff on blending with markers but I guess I still need more practice ^^;;; at least it looks a bit messy to me. This is how this piece came to be a mixed media illustration, since I tried using color pencils to make that transition from blue to green on the windows a little smoother.

I think the pot holding the piranha plant came out a tad too saturated and it's calling too much attention compared to the very light floor and dresser. I was trying to follow the colors on the reference closely as an easy re-intro to traditional art, but next time I do something like this, I think I'll take more liberties with color and see what happens.

Overall, I'm quite happy with how Peach turned out. I don't draw humans too often since I typically draw Sonic characters lol. Sometimes it feels like I have to re-teach myself to draw people as a result. I really liked using the gelly roll for the highlights on her face and the polka dots on her shirt :3 I highly recommend using that pen as my previous experiences with other white gel pens don't compare to this one (not to sound like a commercial I'm just really happy it worked as well as it did!).

And finally, although redrawing a creation from a dress up game screenshot is probably not the most imaginative exercise I could be doing with illustration, I think it's fun and it's pushing me to do things outside of my comfort zone. I'm using new art tools (I'll get better with marker I prommy) and I drew a background! I'd like to do more backgrounds like this as a practice to encourage more original stuff. Maybe. One day. Probably.

Blaze and Rouge hanging out and stealing stuff together in Murder of Sonic

ah, i love them so much. have never thought how these two would hang out, so this is gonna be fun!

She looked at her as they both halted, looking kind of surprised with her request. "Give what back, darling?"

The other sighed in annoyance, she didn't know how much patience she had left in her. "The Sol Emerald, Rouge. I can sense them you know. You just stole one from me."

Visiting Sonic's world was always a delight, often hiding tons of surprises. And this trip did not differ at all. She wouldn't miss Amy's birthday party for the world (or the cake, since, in this dimension, they were absolutely delicious) but for a moment, she thought that was all there was. That this was just a birthday party. Amy's request to have them wear specific outfits seemed oddly specific but she supposed that this was how birthday parties worked in this world. Not that she ever had a proper, informal birthday party herself in her own kingdom, so how should she know? She was just following the request; disappointing Amy, no less on her birthday, was something she would despise to do. However, not much to her surprise, the party turned out to be something entirely different; a Mystery Game.

That didn't exactly make sense to her at first but she accepted it of course. Her friends seemed to like the idea so maybe she had to try it first before drawing a deduction. Sonic in particular was very excited about it and even explained to her how this was supposed to go, before getting wrapped up in a conversation with Vector. Her remaining quaries were answered by Amy herself. Like, the question of where she would be stationed.

She wasn't expecting to be partnered with Rouge. It made sense, given their 'lore cards', for both of them to be in the casino station, but she wasn't expecting it. Indeed, Sonic's world was full of surprises. Rouge didn't seem bothered by that, by the fact they barely knew each other or that she was a fire-weilding princess that could set her on fire any time of the day. On the other hand, she had a lot of thoughts regarding the matter. If anything, Rouge wasn't a complete stranger to her, which made things much harder to handle. They weren't friends, not really, but they weren't stangers either. And she could handle the latter group just fine, she'd practiced it lots of times in her own kingdom. But something in-between? Yeah, she definitely had her reservations about it.

If anxiety took the best of her as they were together, trying to find the best way to handle their social situation, she managed to hide it pretty well.

"'Steal', is a very strong word, Blazey. I'd prefer the term 'borrow'." Rouge crossed her arms as she smirked at her.

"Using the word 'borrow' explicitly states that you would return it eventually." Blaze countered, mimicking her actions while also raising a brow at her, almost in a challenging manner. "Would you?"

"Eventually." she winked. But at Blaze's unimpressed expression, her smirk faltered. "What?"

The cat only raised her palm as a response, standing perfectly still otherwise, still maintaining her poker face and really giving Rouge a run for her money.

"You're no fun, you know that?" Rouge let her arms fall.

"I know." Blaze smiled. "Now, the Emerald please?"

Rouge pouted, before taking the cyan-colored gem out of her glove to admire it, even for one last time. "Well, it was worth a shot."

"It definitely was." Was her reply as she got tossed the Sol Emerald, catching it without any problem. Rouge still aproached her immediately after that, holding her by the shoulder. That earned her a side-glance but she went on unbothered.

"Want to make this actually fun?" Rouge grinned at her, almost deviously, like she was planning something.

Blaze brushed her hand off and started walking again. "I don't think your idea of fun matches with mine." She simply stated. And while it was true, she had a feeling of what Rouge might be suggesting and she wanted to avoid getting entangled in such a case.

"Aw, come on, darling, what are we supposed to do for the next few hours?" she grabbed her by her shoulder again to make her stop.

"Follow Amy's request and keep her happy on her birthday party?" Blaze said with a perfectly even voice, trying not to sound too annoyed.

"That, but also, this is a party, so we can have fun at the same time." she blew her a kiss playfully, giggling at how Blaze scrunched her nose in response.

"Alright." She rolled her eyes. " What do you propose we do?"

"Hmmm...we could..." she tapped her finger on her chin while staring at the ceiling, trying to come up with an idea, "...search for the secret treasure of this train?"

Of course she didn't come up with this right now. "Secret treasure?"

"Well, yes!" She exclaimed, clearly excited. "Actually, I'm sure there are a lot more than just one lying around here, so you can also practice your 'treasure hunting' skills while we're at it!"

"Treasure hunting skills?" Blaze knew Rouge referred to herself as a treasure hunter but if said skills were the ones used to take the Sol Emerald away from her, then she doubted that they both understood the concept of treasure hunting in the same way. "You mean, you want me to steal something for you?"

"Find a treasure." She emphasized, as her hand flew to her face to massage her temples. "Man, it's so obvious that you hang out too much with Sonic. But even he knows to let loose from time to time."

Rouge noticed the blush on her cheeks and she smirked but managed to compose herself and not make any snarky comment about that. Maybe some other time. "Besides," she added, "we could do it by your own rules and return the treasure afterwards. I'm sure you'll be fine with that."

She was fine with that but she didn't know if she should be. If it was right to search the train and steal someone's property just to return it back not long after. Rouge's scrutinizing gaze, accompanied by her confident and smug smirk was all she needed to make her decision, even though she felt like this wasn't a choice she had a say in to begin with.

There was something behind that smirk, behind her expression that felt weirdly familar. Blaze couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was but it was a rare occurence that this ever happened to her, that she found a person whose mannerisms reminded her of someone else's, without her being able to name the other person.

With a sigh, she gave up, giving Rouge her first win against her. "Fine, let's see how treasure hunters enjoy themselves."

Blaze did really have fun that day, even if she hadn't expected it at first.

She snorted at the thought. Full of surprises.

What else am I gonna be doing? Well I really like Halloween and I may draw some halloween themed stuff even when its not October, I'm the type of guy who suddenly gets into the Christmas and Halloween spirit when its not that time of year yet, I especially like zombies and vampires

Rules about comissions

If you want to commission an artwork from me that's totally okay as long as my asks are open, but here are the rules

I will not draw anything too explicit like hardcore s3xual activities, I will draw things that are risqué like characters in revealing clothing or suggestive flirting, but if it involves nudity, intercourse or anything like that then I will not do so, if you're not sure about something you'd like to commission just ask in your... Well ask

I will draw gore but it will be mainly cartoony, and I'm a bit iffy when it comes to stuff involving torture, when I draw gore I mainly do zombie or Frankenstein's monster type creatures and not people being tortured or murdered

You don't need to pay me, I'm not interested in money this is all just for fun

I do draw ships, even most of the ones I don't agree with. However if the ship is illegal (sibling x sibling, adult x child, stuff like that) I'm not comfortable drawing it, I'm not big on the whole "anti-proship" thing (yeah its gross but at the end of the day I don't get too pissy about fictional characters, when I see proship content I just ignore it, if you are a proshipper yourself I don't care, what am I gonna do? Send you stupid death threats when in real life I can't even handle ordering food by myself without having a seizure?) but still I don't really want to draw that stuff

I think most DNI lists are a bit stupid because unless you block people it doesn't really stop anyone from interacting with you, for example if you put "DNI racists" I understand not wanting those types of people interacting with you but its not gonna magically stop a racist person from associating with your posts, if you see someone saying something racist or something you think is discriminatory just block them, in fact if you put DNI in your bio they'll probably want to interact even more just to troll you

However, I'm using this as a time to talk about something I do not want to see on my blog, politics, talk about it on your blog if you want, even if I didn't want you to talk about politics at all its not like I could stop you, but don't come onto my blog spewing political crap in my comments or asks

I do not care what your political views are if you're a leftist or a conservative or whatever, I hate all of it when I'm just trying to have fun on here. So please, no going on about how much you hate Trump, how society isn't fair to certain groups of people, or the latest controversial JK Rowling tweet, I'll worry about all that when I'm not in a mood to draw stuff and have fun

Uhhm okok so I decided I'd like to restart again! Yippeee!! I haven't drawn in forever and everything that was on here was fairly old.. Err.. Hola! I'm Jack! Welcome to my silly blog! We now return to our regularly unscheduled emergence from the void with a new hyper-fixation! Man, I forgot how much I like Sonic. I gotta get some more of the games on the switch, it's been ages.

Started with Sonic sketches, then had urge to draw some AU stuff, (prosthetics are somehow both harder and easier to draw than I thought??) and also Shadow, coz he was always my favourite! So cool and edgy! XD

I already have ideas for like 5 different AUs. But the one in my head right now is featured in the sketch above, wherein Sonic had triplets but right after they were born, his last battle with Eggman caused him to end up lost in space for ten years. Both he and Eggman are presumed dead during this time so the kids are raised by Sonic's friends, while Sonic himself ends up on this epic space adventure desperately trying to get home. (Was inspired by Della Duck from the 2017 Ducktales)

Gonna get some designs done for the kids hopefully soon. Oh, yeah these are Sonic and Shadow's kids (I believe Sonadow is the ship name?). Although neither the kids nor anyone else actually knows that part yet. There be dramas and unresolved emotional tension ahoy!!

Satam is overrated AF. Prime is far superior to it.

Not to mention the art in satam is ugly AF . Sonic's and Tails character model was pretty ugly too.

All I said is that it's kind of dumb to use comparisons from the franchise that came long after SatAm was cancelled, and a game the average fan back then didn't play because it was on an expensive console add-on, for why Western fans who grew up in the 90s shouldn't think the show as a dark take on Sonic.

And I'm gonna have to disagree on Sonic Prime being the better show in general. I gave it a fair chance and came into it with an open mind. I was actually intrigued by the whole "Shatterverse" concept when the details of the show first leaked. But I unfortunately have many problems with it that keep me from fully enjoying it. I'm just gonna say that the show, in my opinion, feels aggressively mediocre, if that's the best way for me to put it. I feel like the characters are either just there or unlikable(especially Nine and Thorn Rose). Yet this show claims to take place in the main game canon, despite there being so many inconsistencies with Sonic's characterization alone(and do I have problems with how he's portrayed). At least SatAm, and by extension Archie, never claimed to be canon to the games at all. Prime, the cartoon that is supposed to take within it's source material, feels more "fan fiction" like, than the dark and gritty early 90s cartoon adaption.

I don't disagree with how Sonic was drawn in the Dic cartoons hasn't aged the best, especially when nobody could seem to be on the same page on how to draw his quills, which was not exclusive to SatAm. But, SatAm's overall art direction is something I would hardly call "ugly AF". Not when Sonic Underground and Sonic the Comic existed in the same decade. It just looks like another typical 90s furry cartoon. Prime's animation looks off-putting a lot of times, and it's just another reason why I would rather have something be animated low budget 2D instead. The character designs and models looking so close to their game counterparts only makes things stick out even more when you see something that just doesn't seem right with them.

As much as I have nostalgia for SatAm and it's characters, I do get annoyed with how fans act like as if it's the only adaption that was during that decade, or them immediately going, "OMG ARE THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS GONNA RETURN?!?!" whenever a new game is announced or piece of Sonic media is announced. But at the same time, I can't stand the whole "Acktually SatAM was never good!" purist garbage, without even trying to at least understand why the Western side of the fandom liked it so much back then. I've long had my fill of that fandom elitism crap from seeing it since the early 2000s.

I'm the kind of person who has watched things like, Felix the Cat: The Movie, more times than what should be considered normal or acceptable. So you're wasting your time when I'm someone who has not only seen the most bottom of the barrel stuff, but still finds value in even "bad" media.

So I didn’t actually mean to do the whole page, just River so I could ask about his name, but then I just decided to continue with who I remember was supposed to be there, and so here we are

I don’t really remember how I formatted these posts, so I’m just gonna go one at a time

So River I already told you about. Protector of important tree or whatever. I should probably expand more on his island and people this time around, and also give him a role other than just “guardian”

I should probably explain the tree, since it does have significance. It’s part of the whole Ralia creation story, but to sum up, the tree was originally the creator of Ralia who got turned into a tree by one of his creations, aka the betrayer and evil, and also would later become the actual big bad of the story when he returns. You know, that standard stuff. I think the tree is also supposed to be sealing the evil guy away? (His name was Adamik by the way) Not sure, but I do also know that the seven elemental gods, aka the people who give Ralians their elemental power, were also sealed away in seven spires across the world. The tree is technically also one, but more important and doesn’t have an element limitation

I don’t know, I just know I was definitely ripping off Zielo from The Murder of Me, a Sonic fancomic I was reading at the time, when it comes to Adamik. And probably also Giratina, because there’s also creation, time and space guys too

Although actually, I went and found my old Ralia creation story, since I knew it was on my phone and I wanted to double check, and apparently Adamik was defeated by a demigod who became the leader of the island of tree guardians. So there’s something interesting I could maybe work with

But yeah anyways, back to River, he’s pretty generic. From an ancient tribe protecting something of big importance to save the world, angry and stubborn guardian, all that jazz. If I’m to spice him up, I think I need to spice up his people and island too. And probably change the mythology

They’re also Ralians like everyone else (nondescript anthropomorphic mammal), they just have specifically black fur with white stripes and hair that matches an element. Not sure if I’m keeping them having elemental powers though. Also fun fact, River was originally a honey badger

There actually is another special people in Ralia, and they were based off of deer, so maybe they’ll get horns or something. I don’t really know their place in the lore other than being able to teleport around the world at will

Maybe they should just be a separate race from Ralians entirely, but I don’t know what entirely to make different about them. Eh, I guess I’ll figure it out

Anyways, I’ve talked too long about River, let’s get to the others

Next we have Marina

Full disclosure, I also didn’t know what to name her, or what her original name was. Probably Diamond or Jewel or something (she was the Rouge adjacent). I gave her the name Marina because I was thinking while drawing her that she looked kind of similar to Marilyn and maybe they could be related, and also because I was listening to Marina and the Diamonds during the latter half of drawing. So her name may be subject to change, but for now it’s Marina

So as Marina is our Rouge adjacent, she was some sort of treasure hunter, and her purpose was to show up on River’s island and have their storyline happen. I don’t really remember much else, just imagine Rouge the Bat in her place, because that’s about as far as I got with her

I’m not sure if I’m keeping her being a treasure hunter, but she does need a reason to go to River’s island

I have worked out some things about her personality, namely that she is far more bark than bite. She makes herself appear all suave, confident and competent, but when she encounters actual danger, her actual, far more cowardly personality starts showing, and you realize she doesn’t actually know what she’s doing at all. She’s the type to lie about her credentials, and then desperately try to keep up the lie so no one suspects her, until someone has her pretty much confronted with it all and she starts begging to just sweep it all under the rug. If any of that made sense

So yeah, she’s gonna be competent for a total of probably 5 minutes on River’s island, and then her actual self is gonna start showing

But despite all that, she isn’t entirely self-serving. She does have an amount of goodness in her, she just finds it easier to lie and pretend she knows what’s going on, or just defer to someone who actually does know what they’re doing

I’d say she has the most wiggle room as a character, but she also has nothing to do with any character other than River, so I don’t really know

Anyways, so she was the character that made me make that post about needing my Prismacolors, because she had brown fur and I didn’t want too many characters with that specific color. But I ended up with this dark brown, and I kind of like it. Her hair was always purple though

I also added on the markings because she was originally a raccoon, and I thought she should have some. I ended up with that gold color for her other fur since I didn’t want to use white again, and I eventually put them under her eyes, and I think it looks good there

She also originally had longer hair, but I think the shorter hair works better with her front swirl

Anyways, now I’m done with Marina, let’s talk about Autumn

I remember saying constantly that I planned on drawing her, but never did, so now you get to finally see her

Now Autumn here is part of Mercury’s story, and the other main character of it. In her original story, she was the lost princess of their kingdom, after it was overthrown by a group of evil people when she was a child. Her parents died, but she managed to survive, and later strove to get rid of those usurpers, and did so by dressing up as a vigilante called Firebrand. Mercury being a soldier would meet her, find out her identity, and eventually help her overthrow the government, and she took back the throne as the new leader, and then she got together with Mercury

This is another thing I mostly stole from a Sonic fanfic/AU, this being similar to Athena’s backstory in LiyuConberma’s Cosium world. So I feel like changing some stuff

One thing I think I mainly want to change is whether or not she’s correct in her goal. In the original, she absolutely was, and I think the story was more generic for it

Also, if this happened when she was a child, that means plenty of the characters, or at least their parents, were around when this originally happened, and apparently none of them have done anything about it and have been going about their lives perfectly fine, which doesn’t make much sense to me. But also, the way I have everything, I feel like a violent overthrow of the monarchy doesn’t really fit in with what I’ve made with everyone else, so I don’t really know if I should keep it. But also at the same time, it’s incredibly vital to Autumn’s backstory, so I can’t just take it out, and I like her too much to delete her entirely

But if I want to keep the overthrow of power, then basically she is incorrect in wanting to overthrow the new one, since things actually are better under the new system and there was a reason for the original overthrow. She just doesn’t really realize it because she’s been away from society since then and also because the old rulers were her parents, so she has a biased view of it all. She isn’t bad, but she’s uninformed and in the wrong, and probably letting her trauma inform her decisions instead of rational thought

Also another way I can keep this going, Firebrand technically is a separate entity from her. The persona comes from a living mask who was sealed away inside said mask, and it temporarily takes over the body of whoever puts it on. I think they and Autumn were supposed to have some conflict originally, but now I can ramp it up by saying Firebrand is playing off her feelings and basically manipulating her so that they can have a body and cause mayhem, while she thinks it’s all for the best

But yeah, basically what I want to do for Autumn and Mercury’s story now is that it’s basically about Mercury helping Autumn realize her quest for revenge is ultimately wrong, even if it was terrible what happened to her, and then saving her from Firebrand and helping her be free. It’s just the details I need to work on

And also with this new story, I’m really wondering if I should keep the romance between her and Mercury. I kind of want them to end up together, especially since they always were supposed to, but with how I have the story now, Mercury’s more trying to get her out of a bad situation and likely into therapy, which probably realistically shouldn’t intermingle with romance. I’ve also been debating aging Autumn down to a teenager, since she’d be more impressionable due to being younger, but if I do that then they’re definitely not getting together, because I’m making Mercury an adult, among other reasons

But yeah I have some ideas on what to do with Autumn, but also I don’t have ideas in other places. I’ll have to work on that

What I do know is that she has pink flames, and she always has. And I don’t care if I’m changing the magic system, she’s keeping it because I think it looks cool

Anyways, that was longer than I was expecting, especially considering only one of these characters has real substance to me, but yeah, here’s this
