In fairness, we haven't seen very much of Shadow's Colours' plot, but from what we have seen, Pastel really isn't an active participant in her own story. Most of the major events are other people doing stuff to her, whether it be Corundum killing her family or Dominik doing vague science stuff.

Honestly yes, that is very strange. Why make Pastel the main character if she's not even an active participant in it? It essentially makes her almost completely non-existent to the plot unless she's even considered a convenient character to a certain degree, but then again, Mel can be pretty inconsistent with the story, and lots of things end up either going unexplained or just have very bad execution.

So honestly, we might not know whole thing with Pastel, because Mel apparently only tells her friends the lore/spoilers.

I could care less if Dominik was victim of child neglect, that man has NO REASON to be running that place outside of pure malice

Ig only Sean is redemable, knowing he's only there because of the money to not die(in older versions, he was there to provide for his family) and ended up dying ANYWAY because being happy is a sin in this story

You have no idea how much I agree with you because Dominik is literally such an annoying and genuinely hate-able character in my eyes. Like oh my god, why is there not an idea where Sean straight up kills him so that the kids can't suffer from Dominik's hands anymore but in the process they both end up dying, or better yet, Sean dethroning Dominik, or 3 while possessing Pastel straight up decking him would be so much better than what we got. Literally being happy is illegal in the story, because you get happy moments only for the characters to straight up die, or just make them have the worst fucking life possible, because at this point it's like a rule.
