Also as much as I love Durgetash, it genuinely ain't about the smut or romance for me (go figure).

I'm solely intrigued by 2 people who realistically shouldn't be able to have any connection deeper than bare surface level going far enough as to defy their gods for each other.

And I can't help but ponder how much of that was just plain manipulative behaviour on both their sides. Cuz like, Gortash, 10/10 manipulative as fuck, but Durge does have that streak as well and considering how well the temple has been doing, they've been at it and they're playing in major politics themselves as well.

And if they're already manipulating and stringing along the patriars, what's to stop them from using the new money banite that just popped up and clings to them for one reason or another.

I wholeheartedly do not believe, at the bare minimum at first, that either of these people had anything 'nice' in mind when hanging out with each other. And now I need to know if and when that view changed and to what extent.

✨ what draws you towards your hyperfixation? what is interesting about it?

for OFMD: i love the characters!!!!!! all of themmmm. their dynamics are probably the most interesting thing for me. i also love the setting & playing around with more serious sailing stuff, and also into the areas that make this group special. i think fundamentally, the show is such a good sandbox to play around with, what could happen, why, etc etc. i love adding little pockets of lore (i think this is why im so drawn to Sam Bellamy stuff, its adding more to the universe & to izzy and layers of depth that werent there before, even if hes completely part of the past). especially after s1 and kraken era speculation, it was all the what ifs and maybes that drew me in.

for PMMM: this is a hard one! i first watched madoka back when it came out in 2011 so its really hard for me to imagine a life where its not important to me. i think the thing for me about madoka magica, is that its about hope. it so often gets sold as a dark magical girl anime, but at its core, madoka is about looking despair in the face, and choosing hope anyway. its about finding a way through even when it seems impossible. ive always been drawn to that. and the interpersonal dynamics- im big into the different story manga, which adds so much depth to kyoko & mamis characters & their relationships.

🎥 do you have any favorite scenes from your hyperfixation?

for OFMD: ive already mentioned one, so again, that, but a second one: the new unicorn scene. its both the complete opposite to the other, and its twin, and it means so much to me. its really first time we see izzy released from his duties, as first mate, to ed, this is just izzy. and its the first time we properly see him accepted by the crew. i dont really know how to put into words what this scene means to me, but i think you understand anyway. i cried. thats my fucking boy!!!!!!!!!!

for PMMM: i think most of my favourite scenes are from the manga (again, TDS fan) but out of the anime, i think its probably the fight against Elsa Maria- its stylised in a gorgeous way, the animation and movement is artistic and gorgeous. and, its the first moment where you really start to feel dread. the first moment you realise that something awful is coming. its beautiful artistically and narratively

💕 tell us about one of your favorite characters and why you like them!

for OFMD: skipping right over the obvious, because ive dedicated my life to the fuckin guy, archie!!!!!!! my sweet love!!!! urgh shes ao delightful, one of the best things to come out of season 2 forreal. i dont think theres a single scene with archie i dont like, i love her stupid little quips and her pragmatism about everything. thats just the way things go, we fight to the death. pointing out that the guys on top do get away with it. idk, theres just not a single thing i dont love. its also so nice to introduce someone not of the revenge mindset, but also not as messed up over things as fang & izzy. she just fills her role perfectly. so fun to see a "normal" pirate. i love her i would do anything for her

for PMMM: i am, in my heart of hearts, a kyoko girly. my first love, the original. i think loving kyoko set me on the path to love izzy too. shes the underdog, she comes in as the villain of the story, till you start to dig into her character and understand why she feels the way she does about things. even if you disagree, its a different perspective on her. shes teeth and claws and knows nothing but fighting to survive. i love her backstory and her attitude to the truth of their life, and i love her stupid little quips. yes girl it is reasonable to break a guys legs to get him to date

🏳‍🌈 do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you?

for OFMD: as i said earlier, im pretty flexible on most headcanons, usually working whichever fits in to the particular idea im thinking about, but trans izzy is pretty consistently up there. its one of those things that i think adds a lot of flavour to his actions in canon, and also adds backstory to him and why he might be who we meet in canon in the first place. also making characters trans fucks and should always be done 👍

* So far, I've only played the first installment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake because I currently do not own a PS5, but I'm working on it. The Compilation of Final Fantasy 7 is my absolute favorite series of all time. I could watch Advent Children ( original and complete ) on repeat, and I've played the original release so many times that I don't even need a guide to get a 100% on a brand new save ( Obsessed much? Yup ). I'm a completionist at heart, and this game is amazing and it provides a massive sense of nostalgia for me.

** SLIGHT SPOILER (maybe? You've been warned) Another amazing installment in the Final Fantasy series, this game is so well written in my opinion. It stays away from the bigger cliches you see in most RPGs ( eg : the guy gets the girl, friendship is the key to saving the world, etc. ), the characters are so individually complex, the villain technically wins and reminds you how easy it would be for you to become the same type of monster. Plus badass women that fix your car, lights up entire cities, wakes up the fucking Gods to fight on your side, takes the entire mercenary army they led and defects to your side? IN HEELS? YES PLEASE. It has one of the best enemy turned ally characters in the FF series; I'm just disappointed we didn't get to see much of Aranea after everything in Tenebrae. Also Ardyn has some serious daddy vibes, and I would literally give my left tit just to lick Aranea's boot ( oh, the things I would do to these two, phew~ ).

*** Let's be real here. The Kingdom Hearts Series makes zero sense if you didn't play all of them and you didn't pay attention to each and every detail, and I did neither. I played 2 and 3 when they originally came out, but in my defense: it doesn't look like a series that follows a singular story, something that I did not know at the time, and usually the series I play have an entirely different story per installment ( eg : Final Fantasy and Tales Of ). I tried to piece together the story from online synopses and second hand game play ( I watched someone else play ), and it just didn't work out. So, suffice to say, my knowledge of Kingdom Hearts goes about as far as basic facts regarding Organization XIII because they were my whole reason for trying the games in the first place. I'm still open to discussion about it, though! Just keep in mind my side will be very limited. Sorry!

welcome back to me reviewing and ranking my slowly dying hyperfixation, ive left a link to the previous post if this is your first time seeing this, anyway onto the rest of season 3 under the cut(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ ✧ﾟ･: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)

the map

after axl accidentally ate his brother's homework, they try to make another one without eating it, matt crushes on sue, and frankie worries for aunt edie after the unfortunate passing of aunt ginny, whom's actor also sadly passed away in 2011. this episode was kind of dedicated to her, and they almost always talk about ginny in a respectful way, it's nice. aside from that, just the entire scene of sue talking to mike about what brad told her is golden. i love matt's posture, it always makes me laugh. i love all of the scenes with axl and brick making another project and then immediately eating it afterwards, it's really fun. good episode, above heck's best thing.

"at halftime, we're gonna do a really edgy "macarena."."

hecking it up

after frankie gets bummed out because of her less-than-ideal official volunteer role in the super bowl, the hecks take advantage of the donahues' new car while they're out of town. this episode is really hilarious, i love the scene with sue driving the car and axl talking to darrin on the phone. really fun, below the test.

valentine's day 3

brick has to write a note about love, axl tries to figure out something life changing that happened in his life for an assignment, sue doesn't like matt's french kisses, and frankie, mike and their friends hang out. axl recording brick being really fake sick just so axl can finish his assignment was really fun, it seems like that they also recorded it on a shitty camera just for the effect too. i love brick's little speech about love, it's so sweet and cute. i really enjoyed this episode, above hecking it up.

the concert

sue desperately tries to go to the justin bieber concert, brick goes to another spelling bee, and after a snarky comment the ax-men attempts to walk faster than a certain speed limit. i adore all the speed limit scenes, it's the best parts of the episode, and you bet your sweet ass that i will be recreating those scenes in real life with my besties cuz frick you. i love mike doing the pledge of allegiance and ends it with "till death do us part" like he's getting married to it, hilarious. this was such a great episode, really funny too, below year of the hecks.

the sit down

after constantly getting exhausted throughout the day from their kids, frankie and mike decide to have a serious sit down with them but before they can, axl, sue and brick turns the tables on them. i love how axl accidentally asks ashley to the prom, again, it's fun. this whole episode was fun, i enjoyed this one, below valentines day 3.

leap year

a new kid joins the support group and because they're the opposite gender of everyone else, they all fall for them, while sue gets excited for her birthday and mike cares for limestone, the quarry cat. we never see limestone on screen but the impact he had on mike can definitely be noticed, we stan limestone in this household. i adore headcanoning that behind closed doors, mike is this really caring cat dad. i love how mike finds another cat on the quarry and names him granite, i really do love mike. i really like how axl gets so unbelievably bored that he just starts vacuuming the house and how everyone figures out what the new kid's quirk is, they're a bunch of simps. really great episode, unfortunately the only thing dragging it down for me is the new kid's name, which is purely just because of personal reasons so of course im a bit biased but besides that, above the sit down.

the paper route

brick becomes a paperboy, axl tries to do a better pitch, and matt moves while sue accidentally gets over corrected teeth so she has to wear a headgear thing. axl texts some "pg-13 stuff", his words not mine, without realizing it was matt [cue the "ha gaaayy" sound clip]. i love when axl felt bad for sue getting dumped by matt, he can be really nice in his own way and i love it. good episode, above the map.

get your business done

always getting bored by their revend, the hecks decided to go to a different church and gets inspired, so brick gets a new "bed", frankie tries to figure out what her business actually is, and sue babysits rowley jefferson. i love the detail when frankie is stuck in the blood pressure thing and reverend havyer talks to her and how you can hear the beeping thing slow down signaling getting more calm. i really enjoyed axl and brick playing and brick being amazing at one game, it's fun. frankie getting stressed because she has no idea what her business is, is actually kind of relatable for me, i have a bunch of ideas and random thoughts in my head but i kinda have no idea what my business truly is. great episode, above leap year.

the guidance counselor

frankie and mike have a classic fight about getting a new bed, even with old fashioned tile cards, brick has to do the fitness challenge for school, and sue vents and really connects with her guidance counselor. i love jane marsh and how both she and sue bond over the fact that nobody sees to notice or even want them, it's really sweet, i wish she appeared more in the series but unfortunately not. axl destroys all of his fingers trying to teach brick how to do a pull-up and it's hilarious. i really enjoyed this episode, above valentine's day 3.

the clover

frankie tries to find a caregiver for aunt edie, axl asks sean to ask emily to prom while he gets done with ashley, brick goes finds a four leaf clover which causes the exact opposite of luck, and sue and darrin go to prom together. i love both ashley and darrin, they're absolutely amazing and im still pissed that they decided to go for the most basic of partners that are starting to grow on me in the end like come on- i love how axl allows ashley to cry on him after he sees her distraught, it's very sweet. i also really liked the deleted scenes where brick tried destroying the clover only for it to not work, implying it's indestructible, i wish they could have kept those in to be honest. good episode, above the sit down.

the telling

after doing dumb shit, mike threats axl if he does anymore stupid stuff, he won't be going to the lake with sean and darrin and sue eventually takes that to her advantage by making him drive her places or else she'll tell on him, also mike finds out that bricks a snitch. MY BELOVED COMES BACK FOR THIS EPISODE AND THE NEXT AAAA *HEARTEYES*, i ADORE all the scenes with bob, his little song he does and just aaaaa everything jsjsj. i love axl losing his mind while sue, carly and brad are in the car with him, it's so funny. also you cannot tell me that "fish-face" isn't just "ghostman" from workaholics, literally the same dude. i love this episode a lot, mostly for bob tbh, above year of the hecks.

the wedding

the hecks panic after hearing that rusty will be having his wedding at the hecks house next weekend, while axl, sean and darrin start boss co. i love axl, sean and darrin trying to get to tree stump out only to almost crash into the heck's house, another thing that i will be recreating with my closest friends and you cannot stop me. for how nuts rusty and his wife are, they seem to really enjoy each other's company which makes them splitting up later even more disappointing. good episode, above the test.
