I have just noticed that Dormammu (185cm) is shorter than Tiboro (193cm). So in this scene he's standing up when Tiboro is sitting down and when he stand up, he starts to float. I cant help to think that is bc he doesnt want to be seen shorter than him.

Strange Tales #129
Cover Date: February 1965 On-Sale Date: November 10, 1965
Sadly, Doc has almost new cover real estate in this issue. He gets a text blurb while the main feature gets almost the entire cover. The Human Torch and The Thing are looking frightened on some train tracks surrounded by what are most likely The Terrible Trio. It's terribly banal. At least a panel of art would have been nice because we get a new villain with an interesting design. Tiboro has a cool helmet and wears some kind of green armor with what looks like a funky kilt. It makes me wonder if the look wasn't an inspiration for Galactus who was about a year away.
Doc is out on the street. One wonders what brought him out that couldn't be handled astral-ly or by flying there. We see that Doc has a bit of a reputation and is accosted on the street by passers-by. "Why won't you go on this tabloid show broadcast a midnight to prove your magic?" "Neener, neener, I know it exists and that's all that matters!" Doc, in his flashy new cape, saunters away from the rabble.
We change scene to the TV studio. A panel of "experts" snidely announce that because Doc can't be bothered with their nonsense, they dismiss him as an expert. Now look at this creepy little statue that was found in Peru. Of course this is the moment it all goes horribly wrong. The studio lights go out and when they come back on moments later, the panel has vanished. Someone has the bright idea to call Doc. Despite their terrible treatment of him, he agrees to help. "Touch nothing until my arrival!" he tells them as he simultaneously summons his new outerwear. This man can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time.
Flying to the studio, he tells them they must re-enact the situation. The studio lights go out and as Doc watches under the All-Purpose Amulet's light, a technician vanishes into the idol before his very eyes.
I'm actually a bit bothered by this. Why was some random technician allowed to wander into the set? We don't know yet what's happening to these people. For all they know, the victims could be getting ripped to shreds and ground into powder. It all strikes me as very careless and callous. Doc decides to take some precautions and enclose the creepy little idol in a mystic shield. Not really knowing what the heck is going on, he contacts his old buddy, The Ancient One.
The image of the Ancient One appears in some splotchy round field. Like Futurama's telephone calls, this type of communication is never the same twice. Despite breaking the spell of Dormammu and being much more spry, he is still staying at his pad.
"That's Tiboro, my dude. He ruled the pre-historic Earth from a volcano. The ugly idol is the last remnant after his 'civilization' vanished."
"Looks like it's my turn" says Doc to no one as he's alone in the room. "Hope I don't get shredded." He drops his shield and the freaky funnel appears again to gobble him up. Doc is sensible enough to shield the idol again after it grabs him. He is immediately greeted by Tiboro in all his green and purple majesty, who, despite being in a different dimension for millennia, recognizes Doc.
Tiboro gives a long-winded diatribe to Doc. "Blah, blah, blah, I am the spirit of decay and, frankly, humanity sucks right now so I'm coming back. Let's get ready to rumble!" Doc, without consent, telepathically goads Tiboro into putting down his wand. Doc is nice enough to take off his cloak, and, in a series about magic, we get a fist fight.
Doc manages to hold his own and Tiboro is like "the hell with this" and fires some mystic blasts at Doc throwing him off balance.
Doc orders his cloak to bind Tiboro and gets a moment's respite. Now we're finally in an all out battle with mystic bolts and shields. Sadly no Amulet vacuum this issue.
Doc shields himself using the substance of Tiboro's realm, which Tiboro handily shatters. But! It was a trick! Once again Doc has tricked his enemy into expending his energy against a false image.
Doc encloses Tiboro's wand in something. Tiboro, not being especially brave, takes the he who lives and runs away, lives to fight another day philosophy and surrenders. Tiboro was capable of mystic feats without the wand a few panels ago, so why he's surrendering now isn't clear. Like Agammon some time ago Doc forces Tiboro to release his prisoners. Tiboro gets in one last I'll get you yet outburst and they all pop back into existence at the TV studio.
The entire studio is like "Holy crap! Magic is real! Just wait until the next show" and Doc is like "Holy crap! That's a really bad idea. I must non-consensually wipe everyone's mind of this experience." The show goes on with the whole "Doc is fraud attitude" while Doc creeps in the shadows behind the cameras. We fade out on a really cool image of a horn on Doc's cloak casting a shadow on his face and him flying home.
It's got a couple of weak points that don't entirely make sense, but overall I like the story. Tiboro will return a few times here and there, until his most recent history where, through a strange (pun intended) set of circumstance, he becomes Doc's dad-in-law! I won't be getting to that one in quite some time, so check you local comic shop to find out about it sooner.
This story is a sort of end of an era for me. After discovering Doc in my orthodontist's office after reading Hulk #207, my next exposure was the 1978 Pocket Books edition that reprinted the first half of the Ditko run. They were reprinted in a really small format, but my eyes were still young and didn't yet need powerful magnifiers to read it. It was the lone copy of anything Doctor Strange in the bookstore as if it had been waiting for me. I reread it many times until my dog managed to chew it to pieces a year or two later. I was devastated, but, the same local bookstore had another lone copy waiting for me not long after. Perhaps there is such a thing as magic after all.
The next set of stories will give us a bunch of new characters, including some cool villains, but it's a long, long arc centered around two familiar foes. It's a huge change from the previous stand alone stories that have populated this series until now. And it will take us to the point where Ditko says "I've had enough, Stan. Ta ta!"

Who's on the new Doctor Strange #5 cover? I'm struggling to identify him from a side profile for some reason...
You mean the one marrying Umar?
If so, it's Tiboro! I think it's more of a political marriage because of the warlord's territories and stuff but it's funny all the same xD

THE RETURN OF TIBORO AND A TEAM-UP WITH BLACK KNIGHT!? I loved this issue so much. It was so cool seeing Doctor Strange team-up with Black Knight and honestly this team-up made more sense than many Dr. Strange team-ups that have happened already. I don’t understand why Black Knight isn’t a bigger character cause his design and Arthurian connections make him more unique to the Marvel universe. I really dig how the Ebony Blade works making the user crave violence and have a bloodlust. It’s like an almost inverse Mjolnir. I don’t know about longtime Strange fans but this costume keeps growing on me. I dig it. Tiboro is a cool looking villain and he was one of the bad guys who stood out to me in Strange Tales so it was cool to see him again. I want more of him. I thought the fight with Surtur and Ymir was gonna happen this issue but it seems to be Avengers #61 where it happens which makes sense cause Strange is gonna need help to fight both of them. I’m really pumped to see it and I can’t wait. I’m loving this run so much. Doctor Strange is climbing the ranks of my favorite superheroes. I’ve always liked him but this is giving me a bigger love for the character. So good. ONWARD TO AVENGERS #61!

Two crazy theories I thought of after reading "Doctor Strange (2023) #5":
Warning: You're probably going to question my sanity after reading this.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
2 - Clea's new sister is Sofia Strange.
Okay, let's start, for those who don't know who "Sofia Strange" is, she is the daughter of Doctor Strange and Clea in the comics. Well, she was, because she never came back after a single appearance in "Epic Anthology" and we can assume that Marvel "forgot" about her and she never existed on Earth-616. It never happened, no one mentions her (not even Clea), wiped out of existence. BUT... An alternate version of her appeared in "Wastelanders: Doom" last year and was already an adult. That means Marvel hasn't forgotten about her and they still know she was left out on Earth-616.
As for the theory, I started to think it would be "funny" if Umar's new daughter was revealed to be the new Sofia Strange on Earth-616. Yes, you might think I'm hallucinating, but like, if Umar really dies and Clea has to take care of her new sister, then what are the chances of Clea and Stephen naming her "Sofia"? Besides, it looks like this child is going to be Tiboro and Umar's successor, so Clea and Stephen are going to have to teach her magic. And let's face it, Clea and Stephen would be MUCH better parents than Tiboro and Umar, I would give the child 1 year to live, until Tiboro and Umar start killing each other after General Strange is eliminated. Another reason I created this theory, is that I think it's time for Marvel to bring Sofia back and expand this family even further, how can they disappear with her for over a decade? It has so much potential and this is a new chance. And of course, with this new child being created by Clea and Stephen, the bond between them will be stronger than it already is, I will NOT risk the possibility of Marvel ruining this couple again and turning them into "Mary Jane and Peter 2.0". Enough of the love drama, make these two stick together forever and have a child to take care of. If even Dormammu has a son who was born on Earth, then Clea and Stephen will take care of a child, even if it is not their biological daughter.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
1 - Dormammu will kill General Strange.
What? I have to give hope to my favorite villain to do something new in comics, the guy is hungry to kill some mystical being. Anyway, this theory probably isn't "crazy", it's just unlikely, but I'm going to put it here because I want to know what you guys think of the idea.
Look, we know that Stephen and Dormammu are in the middle of a "Cold War", they are not killing each other like they used to and they are in the most possible "peace" they can have. However, one of Dormammu's most interesting lines in the third chapter of "Doctor Strange (2023)" was this:
"When I kill you, you will stay dead."
It went something like that, I don't remember the whole sentence, because I'm too lazy to remember now. Continuing the theory, we already know that Dormammu wants to kill Stephen with all the Flames of the Faltines he has, but he can't, because they are in a Cold War. BUT... Now there's a new version of Stephen Strange who is threatening to kill all the rulers of other dimensions and Umar is one of the targets. Yes, Dormammu said "I'm Out" after the attack started in the last comic, but if there's one target General Strange is going to focus on in the future, it's definitely going to be Dormammu. Even if General Strange couldn't get to him, Dormammu has to know that he might be on General Strange's hit list. So, assuming Stephen and Clea fail to defeat General Strange, who could they ask for help? Dormammu is one of those, because despite the rivalry, Dormammu has to realize what a threat this crazy guy is. Furthermore, I think it would be interesting for Dormammu to "feel something" with Umar's (possible) death, if it happens. I know, Dormammu doesn't seem to care about the rest of the family these days, but anyone who's read "Defenders (2005)" knows that Dormammu still seemed to love his sister. Yes, she betrayed him at the end (again), but I think it's possible there's still a certain "concern" within the character, something that might affect him to go after General Strange. Unlikely, I know, because Marvel... is Marvel, but Jed MacKay has already proven himself to be one of the best writers at Marvel and he is one of the best in the Doctor Strange comics. So I think it's possible for this to happen, just because of Jed MacKay and the line Dormammu said in the third chapter. Dormammu could still say something like this after killing General Strange:
"I told you... When I kill you, you will stay dead."
This would be a moment to remember for Stephen and the readers, because Dormammu is still a threat in Stephen's life. It would be a moment of "relief" for the villain too, because he managed to satisfy (a little) his desire to kill his rival, even though it was an alternative version.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Okay, no more theories and sorry if my english seems strange, because english is not my main language.
What do you think of the theories? Crazy? Impossible? What did I eat to create them? Did you like it? Comment if you want.

Dr Strange 5: I love this comic so much. Jed Mackay rights the best dialog for Stephen & Clea. Pasqual Ferry's art is amazing! Every issue of this comic is so good. Dormammu gets all of the best lines! Why is Dormammu so cool. The brief scene between Stephen & Tiboro is so good.

Continuing our series on building a rogue gallery for Anya, here we have a villainess who could be a match to Anya's new found magical powers: Lisa Molinari aka Coat of Arms.
Lisa has actually certain ties with a mayor villain from Spider-Man's world: mother fucking Norman Osborn.
She is Osborn fangirl, seeing the whole superhero/villain dynamic as an art project. Imagine Lisa deciding to become Anya's archenemy just to continue parallels with Spider-Man.
Btw, I kinda have the headcanon that Lisa is this user from the editorial page of the Dark Reign: Young Avngers mini.
Osborn fangirl? Her user name is SpyderGrrl? With her coat she has a total of 8 limbs? It's just too good to be a coincidence.
Her origin is that Osborn gave her the coat of Tiboro, a Dr. Strange villain from Peru. You know who also comes from Peru? Anya's first mentor, Miguel. The coat is able to produce 4 extra arms, as well as being able to manifest various magical items from its pockets.
In her appearance in Avengers Academy she seems to fully embrace the magical aspect of her powers, trying to dominate other types of magic. Maybe she would like the spiritual side of the web of life.
Apart from all of that, I find it funny how they both look physically when Anya had her ponytail. Just to keep bringing up more parallels, they were both created by Mark Brooks! They're meant to be magical girlfrienemies!

The Faltine family drama never fails to disappoint and now there's a new member lmao. Hopefully, Umar will temporarily die so Stephen and Clea can raise the kid because let's be real, no kid Umar will raise will turn out to be stable. Clea didn't turn out psycho only because Umar was an absent mom.
I know Doyle would've never shown up but he should've been there :(
