I mean...tianshan is my favourite ship right now but years ago, I started reading 19 days because of zhanyi.

After re reading the comic for n'th times, I can see after jian yi's confession their development got slower and then story focused mostly on tianshan. But I feel like zhanyi's development has come to full stop right now :( they haven't got any emotional or significant moment for a long time, they're like background characters to tianshan's story.

I mean yeah, years go old xian made a good decision to focus and develop tianshan's relationship because zhanyi were light years ahead of them, and zhanyi were finally got to some points, jian yi confessed and zheng xi accepted jian yi's feeling for him and after that zheng xi seemed to develop some romantic feelings for jian yi but oh well. We never saw anything after that (also I'm not happy with the way old xian is going with zheng xi's character, it seems like he doesn't have any character out of jian yi anymore and he doesn't have any close relationship or significant interaction with he tian or mo like jian yi does,it's like his purpose of existence is only because of jian yi, I could go on but that's literally a different topic)

I know they are together in future, in Christmas chapters they seem to be living together, but their development has been so dry that I keep questioning myself how old xian is gonna make them a thing.

I can only hope for old xian to take a look at them and be like: oh yeah they're the main couple I need to start focusing on them too!

after tianshan officially became canon, I thought that old xian is gonna give zhanyi some major development to move their relationship from sided love to mutual feelings but it doesn't seem we're going back to zhanyi anytime soon. I believe zheng xi is in love with jian yi already"I'll go wherever you go" was his way of telling it, or jian yi's "no matter what happens, don't ever leave me". I wish we saw their reactions to these indirect love confessions.

No, I totally understand! Whenever plot was happening, Old Xian would focus on one pairing for several chapters and you would not see the other two for months. I can't say for sure but I do feel that OX noticed how popular Tianshan are and gave more content accordingly. Yixi's 'arc' has been concluded months ago as they are already somewhat established as a "couple" (it was less clear than Tianshan tho so...). There is not much story to tell before we get to the High School arc - at least it would feel like a bit of a stretch to wait longer. Tianshan's story took quite a bit to tell and I think it's fair that the focus was on them for that. But I do agree that now that their arc is concluded and we're only getting "filler" chapters so to speak, Yixi could easily be shown, too. We might get a total focus on Yixi as soon as Jian Yi disappears because that was essentially the main story. And I think this arc will begin soon. Old Xian has a history of lulling us into a false sense of security where it's all fun and fluff only to hit us very hard with sudden angst. So we better stay prepared :)

Okay so I understand where they're coming from because OX did focus on tianshan these past chapters, but I don't think they should necessarily drop the manhua. Just be patient :)

ofc OX is gonna have more build up of a relationship for them soon enough. But some people have to remember that Jian yi and zzx already had a long lasting relationship built so from the outside it would already seem like they were together, unlike tianshan who had to become enemies to become lovers (enemies 2 lovers trope).

But in future posts I would love to see more of Jian yi and Zzx's relationship become more than it is already :).

hi there!! omg it's been SO long (and that's entirely my fault!)

ohhh, i definitely missed talking about this AU :') thank you for keeping me accountable LOL, seriously!

i love love love that you mentioned how He Tian is a money magnet (especially in customer service roles) because i also thought about that when i was first drafting this AU. however, i quickly came to the conclusion that while He Tian might be an efficient worker whenever he opts to help out for short periods of time - usually to get brownie points with Guan Shan - there is no way in HELL that that boy would last more than a week in customer service. not at his age and with his current immaturity, at least. i'm sure you understand where i'm coming from if you've ever worked a customer service job yourself... especially food service. He Tian is a great charmer, but we've seen him lose his cool relatively quickly and explosively (!!!) after his patience runs out (like when he smashed that man's car??? hello?????? he did not think that through at all, jfc). and since customer service jobs are usually the only positions hiring middle/high school students, it'd be a recipe for disaster. so basically, He Tian is too volatile to work your typical part-time job, so he finds different means of making money.

as for why he's still troubled in this AU? well, I don't think I could narrow the answer down to only one or two things. that'd be like trying to define your own life by a single prevailing issue you face! impossible! so unfortunately, i'll have to leave you to your imagination for this question :)

as for She Li, i'm still very interested to see what OX does with him in the canon storyline. even though they do look eerily similar, i don't think he and He Tian are related (nor are they in this AU), but i do think that there's some kind of connection between She Li and the He family that hasn't been thoroughly revealed yet. using that logic, i intend to explore that same uncertainty in this AU! i have a good idea of what role She Li will play in this fic, but it's not entirely fleshed out yet. honestly, i'll probably spend the rest of tonight doing just that! i hope you don't mind waiting just a bit longer for my answer!

Since everyone is going on about this moment : here's my opinion (if anyone gives a shit about it lol) :

Ok so, almost all the fandom pretty much agrees on the fact that Mo wasn't jealous when he saw the girl, and so do I. But then, what went through his head when he looked at this girl and He Tian ? Why did he run away in the few next panel ?

First, I don't think Mo is jealous of this girl, she has clearly no importance. She is not the main focus of the drawing and doesn't even seem to reach He Tian : the wall behind them cut the image in two parts. He Tian's part takes 2/3 of the image and if full of a light that emphasizes it, while hers is only taking 1/3, on the right, somber, almost invisible and the hair of the girl is grey like the wall : it's like we didn't see her at all. Plus, He Tian is not fully facing her, he doesn't really care about her.

We understand here that though the girl has her little importance, so jealousy is not the theme of those panels. So what pushed Mo to run away ? If not jealousy, what did he feel ?

To me, Mo Guan Shan is hurt and embarrassed by the distance he suddenly feels, between him and He Tian. Let's get a look at the composition of those two panels, and precisely: their opposition. In the first panel, it almost looks like it's the evening, it's a little dark. There's nobody around Guan Shan (or at least nobody really visible, plus they're far away), he's alone. It gives a feeling of solitude. Plus, notice that he is not really the main focus of the drawing : there is a tree next to him, taking half of the place. It looks like Mo is almost part of the decor. And in opposition with this, there is the second panel : brighter, He Tian and this girl don't even seem to pay attention to Mo, while this latter watches them from apart.

All this emphasizes the impression that they are in two separate worlds. Mo looks so little, so far away from He Tian, as it was clear that He Tian didn't need him from where he was. Even though how close those two got, it felt like Mo was nothing in He Tian's world, because he was out of it. That's why the bandaid seemed ridiculous : the girl was there to help He Tian and Mo was now useless. This distance probably made him feel like he could never fit in, it wasn't his place to care for He Tian and be by his side since the girl(s) was (were) already there.

I love 19 Days so much and this is all my opinion and I am aware that Old Xian doesn't owe us anything, but I sometimes just wish that story had a more consistent pacing. I absoluetly love fluff chapters, but I also like the more dark-themed serious undertone kinda chapters. What I don't like is story just jumping from one to another too fast. Like before this last chapter, we saw some hints on He Tian's past and his world view, and the last chapter we got a flying pig. But I guess I should've got used to Old Xian's way of story telling already lmao.

Also another thing, I don't like that Jian Yi and Xixi kinda became the comedic duo. Of course Old Xian may want to focus on Tianshan dynamic now, but I would love to see more process on the Jian Yi and Xixi field. Thank you if you've read all of this.

Tough on the outside but soft on the inside delinquent and the devilish lonely rich boy who'll go batshit crazy if his friends are in danger. Both of them learning to trust and very slowly showing their vulnerable sides to each other.... I can't say much, it's already a spoiler that they become closer because in the story they start as strangers or even "enemies". They're also secondary characters so they make appearance later in the story and gradually gain more importance (well, it started with them being secondary but tbh now they're one of the main characters with a lot of focus AND I AM SO HAPPY). But anyway, I am absolutely obsessed with them.

The original main pair (zhanyi) has completely different dynamic and vibe, but I love them and enjoy their story and relationship very much as well <3

This series has such variety of multilayered characters who honestly could have their own separate manhuas. I absolutely recommend 19 days, it started like absolute crack but gained so much depth and action and angst and questioning yourself and 'am I abnormal for having feelings for you' and trust and progress in relationships and-

I see similarities so I put them together lmao. They are wholesome and sweet, support each other no matter what, work for their dreams and for people they hold dear. The guys are hella funny but also very smart and cool, the girls are intense and ambitious and need to have everything under control but are also very sweet and loving. The shows are light and hilarious, good as a stress relief.

The Good Place - Chidi and Eleanor

First of all I recommend The Good Place in general, a wild ride of unexpected twists and turns, each reveal more “whaaat” than the previous one, with diverse representation and filled with philosophical questions and lessons, created by people who love philosophy. Its humor is incredible as well akjvndfv

Chidi and Eleanor are complete opposites - a nerd with severe anxiety issues who spent his whole life buried in books, and a bi disaster who partied hard, made a lot of bad things, and cared mostly about herself. They learn from each other and complement each other, all the while growing and changing right in front of our eyes.

Aggretsuko - Retsuko and Haida

HAIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA im love him your honor. Get a partner who can do both (be sweet and supportive, be badass and taking no bullshit). I truly believe they'd be happy and just right for each other, and I want them to be together 😭😭

Yuri on ice - Yuri and Victor

akhdbsdjkfnlsdf if you watched this then you know why. I recommend it if you want a good quality lgbt anime with an interesting story, diverse characters, and beautiful skating scenes 💚 I love this wholesome duo so much T^T

Svvord of Truth - Richard and KahIan

I kinda feel like I owe it to them to mention them here, probably my earliest couple on this list. It’s an old high fantasy series which I read when I plunged straight into puberty, I haven't read it as a more mature person so I wonder if there are some harmful stereotypes I didn't see or how many typical tropes there are (well e.g. the main guy is so ridiculously overpowered and smarter/holier-than-thou, and there is a lot of black and white there) but also it’s a really complex world with interesting mechanics. However, what truly makes me remember this series fondly is because it was there with me when I was going through a lot of hardships, showing me a rich world with many people worth loving, strong women who I admired and strived to be, wise people of different backgrounds, cultures, and ages. It taught me how important it is to be kind and compassionate, that no matter how desperate your situation can get there is always hope and a way, that people who care about you will be there for you when you need them, and that you need to reciprocate as well. To always “think about the solution, not about the problem” which became the thing I repeat to myself every time I start struggling. The main couple also showed me what I want to strive for in a good relationship - support, understanding, standing by each other’s side no matter what, deep respect for each other and treating each other as equals, working for the relationship, and most importantly trusting each other. The series might be a typical high fantasy but for my growing and messed up mind it was a good teacher who reminded me of things we consider obvious but tend to forget, and might have played a significant role in who I am now.
