Lunch update - Today was Idli day! Instant bottle gaurd idli to be precise ,along with chutney, grapefruit and strawberry. Today's lunch was super quick, babyN gobbled up all the three idlis and 2 extra ones in less than 20 minutes.Looks like she has got pappa's genes when it comes to idli.Today she had grapefruit for the first time. Since there was strawberry on offer, she didn't bother much about grapefruit. Will be trying again next time. Ingredients for bottle gaurd idli : 1/4 cup rice flour 1/2 cup soaked red lentils 1/4 cup bottle gaurd (dudhi) 1/2 cup water Directions: 1) Blend soaked red lentils, grated bottle gaurd rice flour and water into paste like consistency. 2) Steam the idlis and serve when cooled down. Idlis didn't fluff as neither fruit salt/soda was added to batter nor was it fermented but they were still soft for baby to hold and eat. Chutney was made using dessicated coconut, some peanuts and yogurt. We have had peanut allergy checked for babyN.
