I'm not planning on going into full detail over the rest of the Mane Six like I did for Twilight, despite this, I think the Mane Six ships in the Hopes'nDreamsVerse deserve a bit more light and attention. There are some ships that are a bit unconventional and therefore need a little bit of explaning to be believable. I mean c'mon? When do you ever see Soarin and Rarity shipped, or Applejack and Double Diamond, or even Twilight and Star Tracker? ( I already did a thing on them, so go search it out of you're interested! )

So to curb your curiosity and disbelief, I will be explaining these ships, right here, right now.

Alright, well, Pinkie Pie X Cheese Sandwich and Fluttershy X Discord are pretty self-explanatory and don't have much to explain in terms of how they ended up together. The story of Rainbow X Thunderlane and Rarity X Soarin, is a bit more of a complicated discussion, given that it's more widely known for the husband's in these two ships to be swapped, and so you would probably think they would be. Well, I'm going to tell you why they aren't. . .

( Note: I LOVE Soarin X Rainbow and am partial to Rarity X Thunderlane, however they didn't work with the next gen characters I at the time had ideas for and wanted to design. Also Hopes'nDreamsVerse didn't used to be my main and I had never planned for it to be, but things change. My only regret really is that some of the ships I personally prefer didn't get to be a part of the main Next Gen that I strictly think happened after the show, so I can only save those for alternates, but really I'm fine with in the end )

Being Wonderbolts together, it's natural that ponies within the fleet would form close friendships and sometimes even have romantic feelings bloom. Well that's exactly what happened between Rainbow Dash and Soarin, and Thunderlane and Cloud Chaser.

Rainbow and Soarin became fast friends, and even then, though she'd never admit it, Rainbow had quickly developed a bit of a crush that went slightly beyond her general fascination and hero complex towards the Wonderbolts as a whole, in fact she had always found Soarin to be kind of cute out of the stallions in the fleet.

Thunderlane and Cloud Chaser had already been friends before joining the Wonderbolts, and working together in such close proximity only escaladed their bond into something more. By the time Season 9 ended, in fact the evening after Queen Twilight's Coronation, Thunderlane proposed and the two pegasi got engaged. Only four months later were they married.

Rainbow and Soarin found romance and became in item around the time that Fluttercord and CheesePie were taking off, and though they were together for months and genuinely loved each other, in the end things took a turn for the worse. And that simply was their differing ideas for the future. Rainbow was perfectly content being his girlfriend and working on and rising up in her career, while he had always known that if he were to date he'd want it to be a permanent thing and to escalate, to eventually be something more, be something more to her and have something more WITH her. This is where the argument began, which eventually caused them to break up, though it left them both sore for awhile.

Meanwhile, Double Diamond, Party Favor, and Night Glider often liked to visit Ponyville to see their friend, and in PF's case, sister, Sugarbelle. Them being on the farm so often left room for Applejack to get to know them, and get to know Double Diamond in particular. Party Favor, once he met Miss Cheerilie, often took time to hang out with her in Ponyville while Double Diamond became interested in life on the farm and often snuck away to watch Applejack do her work — though he was genuinely interested in the work itself, he also loved to watch her work in particular, let's just say he has a thing for buff ladies XD.

Friendship and eventually feelings blossomed over the course of months and though they eventually became a couple, they being such good friends and keeping their romance out of topic to others, never really mentioned to anyone else their relationship until someone poking around eventually found out and spilled the beans to everyone.

Eventually when Rainbow decided to move on and stop showing how it still affected her, Rarity, single and by now thinking she'd always be so, took it upon herself to be match maker for her friends instead, and started sending her on blind dates, that is until the day Rainbow finally put her hoof down and told her she wasn't ready yet, that she was still bothered by her breakup and needed a bit more time, when she finally came clean about that, Rarity apologized and ceased. Double Diamond and Applejack are engaged at this point, Pinkie and Cheese are newly married and Fluttershy and Discord have just found out really early on that miraculously they're expecting a foal.

The night of the Grand Galloping Gala came. Rainbow Dash ran into Thunderlane and Cloud Chaser and hung out with them when they weren't performing. Rarity however, after the Wonderbolts show was done, stumbled upon Soarin keeping to himself and conversation struck between them, both getting along well, Soarin opened up about the breakup with Rainbow and Rarity offered some insight on Rainbow's side of the story, they ended up talking until the Gala ended and they both said their goodbyes, walking away strangely with warm, fuzzy feelings in their chests and fond wandering thoughts of each other for the next few days.

Fluttershy and Discord attended the Gala, but were forced to teleport back home when Fluttershy started feeling terribly ill and faint. Later that night Fluttershy miscarries the undeveloped embryo, and though it was so early that it wasn't even living yet, Fluttershy mourned greatly for what had almost been.

Thunderlane and Cloud Chaser's daughter Tornado Racer is born and while Cloud Chaser is on maternity leave, Thunderlane finds himself running into Rainbow more and more at work, and though at first it's all innocent and friendly, both ponies know they've walked into a mess when they start feeling things they shouldn't and Thunderlane's feelings for Cloud Chaser begin to dwindle due to less time with her and more and more arguments and disagreements at home, Cloud Chaser has always had a few red flags that never got resolved and they shine through more than ever these days, so you see it's not only his feelings for Rainbow that are contributing to their falling out.

After a particularly bad fight leaving both ponies with severely damaged feelings, Thunderlane comes to realize he doesn't feel right with Cloud Chaser and comes to realize his feelings for Rainbow are intensifying as she's been a good listening ear and comforting figure to him after fights with his wife.

Though he loves his daughter and has a bad feeling about what would happen if he were to leave her, he needs to get these feelings into words, soon confessing to Rainbow who feels the same way, but despite her feelings she gets mad at him, telling him firmly that if he really wants to act on these feelings, he has to choose, either forget about her and be a faithful husband to Cloud Chaser or get a divorce to avoid being a cheater.

Thunderlane didn't come to work for a few days after that, but when he finally did, he informed Rainbow he had made up his mind; he had told Cloud Chaser how he had moved on and wanted a divorce. Rainbow felt extremely guilty, thinking it's her fault for ruining Thunderlane's prior relationship, but ultimately knows that things were never really harmonious between them and it might've happened even without her muddying the circumstances.

They were married only a few months after the divorce was finalized, Thunderlane never talked of kids to her so she trusts he won't pressure her to have them instead of focusing on her career. He knows that's not what she wants and he doesn't trust that he'd be a good dad after leaving Tornado, the thought of it hurts too much and makes him feel even more guilty.

Cloud Chaser of course does not take this kindly, though she was half of the reason it ended this way, she refuses to believe that she was part of the problem and harbors feelings of abandonment and resentment, she blames Rainbow primarily, a belief and hatred she passed down to Tornado Racer, who's childhood is destroyed by this, though after a few years Thunderlane hears of his ex's spiral and tries his best to gain custody of his daughter, Tornado wants nothing to do with him, Cloud Chaser won't let him take her and after years he ultimately loses the battle. Tornado does have solace with her Aunt Flitter who takes care of her when Cloud Chaser is unable, but of course it's not enough to make how her life is going completely 'okay' and doesn't stop her from being messed up in adulthood.

By this time Soarin and Rarity have started seeing each other and eventually become a couple. Applejack and Double Diamond are married though ponies still wonder how their so chill and non-romantic in public ( they're very affectionate when it's just them, don't get me wrong here ). Rainbow and Soarin, now both with new partners that they love more than anyone, rekindle their previous friendship which spreads between both couples, so all four become good friends, all hurt feelings healed.

Sometime between the birth of Fluttershy's foal and Pinkie's twins, and the birth of Applejack's foal a year later, Soarin proposes to Rarity and Twilight and Star Tracker become great friends, soon to be married as I will soon explain, and soon couples are married not long after each other.

howdy, super enjoying clanmew day! hope its not bothersome but I wanted to pop in and talk about two of my ocs' name translations-

thunderchase > krrakapaoha "thunder will-travel", better translated as "will seek out thunder", in reference to her bold daring attitude - it's supposed to evoke the image of running directly into a storm! her name could also be translated as stormchaser or thrillseeker. the boldness of her name is in contrast to her sister's name, which is...

pickerelstripe > kishkiseek (kishki is a claymew word shhh) "chain pickerel with thick stripes". could also be translated as.... uh, pickerelstripe. her name's supposed to be rather dull, especially next to her sister, which plays into some major self-worth issues - it doesn't help that their dad's the leader and christened them with these names.

theres some other fun names I have too but a lot of them involve my own words and i'd feel bad flooding your inbox with stuff from my dialect aha

Pickerel isn't here in the UK, but there is a very similar sort of flower. Pickerel is a US waterplant, with a rising purple flower that pokes above the surface of the water, but in the UK, there is the very special,

Smartweed.

It's also called amphibious bistort, which Clan cats agree with. It's from the same cultural "classification" of flowers as bistort, hyacinth, and loosestrife. At some point I would like to make a "clan culture" guide to how they sort flowers, but for now, the words to know are these;

Tower (Flower) = Swahr A generic term for a tall, compound flower or several flowers that grow around a central point, usually without thorns (which excludes teasel by definition). Typically purple or pink.

Smartweed (Polygonum amphibium) = Yarpow A semi-aquatic flower which can count as a "reed" in Clanmew. A welcome, beloved pop of pink at the waterside, though Clerics occasionally grapple with a recurring falsehood that burning it will make a cat smarter. It doesn't. It just causes smoke inhalation. Where does the falsehood come from? RiverClan perpetuates the rumor as a mean joke against other Clans. Word comes from Brain + Light Pink (the color 'blush', in Clanmew).

That random junk that got carried away with the Galahkari is their best piece of negotiation. Nyx realises that pretty much off the bat. Most of the craftier Galahkari are not far behind. They may not actively need said random junk, or know what to do with it, but of the fihrie want it for something, they got to pay for it. Fair and square. Those are the Rules.

Of course the fihrie go to Nyx for the negotiations.

The Galahkari that never left...

Once they trust what's going on is really happening, emotions are bubbling over. There are a number of tearful reunions, along with more than one 'You Are Alive!' party.

The fihrie are smug about this one. 'Look how well we looked after those who remained. We kept them well hidden. And now we have you back and can keep you hidden as well.'

...I am now very tempted to write a little something about the first time Nyx and Cor meet each other again in The Mürn's court.

Much to my shame, I only recently discovered your 'Welcome Home, Please Stay' spinoff/verse, and I love it *so* much. Seriously! Insomnia all but collapsing as the minority ethnic group that faced so much prejudice and bias is abruptly *gone* and the ripple-on effects from that - oh, that is gonna have *so many* consequences, and what's Insomnia gonna do? *Demand* that they come back? Haha, *no*. (Although I do wonder if someone can persuade the Wisps to deliver so many, many formal resignation letters -)

If Lucis dares to ask for the Galahkari back, they'll collectively laugh in their faces. Like, how dare?

Don't think the Whisps are going to do it, but the wind sprites could be willing to open a postal service just for this one. Including totally arbitrary rules like 'to send a letter, spin yourself counter clockwise three times' and 'write the name of the recipient backwards and upside down' and 'each sheet of paper delivered costs one spoon full of rose tea (to be set out next to the door)'.

So does Flurry Heart get paid by the government, too? If not, at which age does one get a stipend? I guess it depends on when you actually start working but that's a bit tricky as well. I imagine it being a slow start where you get small tasks at first and work more as you gain experience.

Flurry Heart is not a government official. I’m not sure what it is you think we do but we don’t give infants positions of responsibility, in case you thought that might be a possibility. Nor does a relation to a government official entitle you to a position in or funding from the government, as that would be nepotism.

Perhaps one day she will work along side us, but that will be determined on her own merits and wishes, and I wouldn’t want to make presuppositions. She has her own path, and may be meant for something completely different.

Just because she’s an alicorn, that doesn’t mean she has to be a princess, and we shouldn’t start expecting or demanding that, particularly when she’s only a tiny foal. The important thing is that we are there to support her, and help her achieve what is best for her, not push her in a direction she’s not meant for.

-Etlir Thunderchaser, a non-chaos Minotaur who was a test tube baby created by a wizard that had a predication for making pink things. Etlir has implanted false memories and does not know about the wizard who made him, and also ended up with one of the wizard’s other experiments as a mount: a hot-pink winged ferret that he calls the Tour Bus. @cuddlykraken

-Rosie, a Lapin with crazy high strength who, even though she has a laser sword she learned how to use from her adoptive mother, much prefers to wield a big-ass greatsword because she has the physical capabilities to do so. She has a non-chaos Minotaur girlfriend who is an herbalist and super chill and they are in love. @wizards-of-loz

-”Fours”, a Dragonewt who turned out to be dating a goddess of death, and has gained the ability to create and grow insane mutated plants that carry a variety of benefits, potentially. @thegreat-demipan

-Autumn, a Volpirr who happens to be a demi-goddess and is favored by her godly mother, Mayrinn, who is the goddess of her people. She wears a mask to obscure her divine eyes, and because of this, masks became quite popular within the cult of Mayrinn. She is tricky and likes to wriggle the truth out of people, no matter the situation. @aesirraven

-Uldreg Thunderripper, an Azerothian orc-turned-Death Knight who got sucked into this world by accident, learning things that are unfamiliar to him. He chose to join the death goddess’s cult most recently, but she said she would put him through some trials in the future, as this is rather an odd situation. Still, it isn’t as if Uldreg chose to be undead. @inkyuubi

Next Gen Sketch Dump

I've had these for awhile in my personal sketchbook ( and I'm always adding more) just sitting there looking pretty for no one to see besides me, so I think it's time we changed that.

Tried out a bit of color with this one, but it's clearly faded after awhile. I imagine Pinkie's breaking the fourth wall by staring at the camera, being all "see what we have to deal with?" to whoever's looking at the picture.

Fluttercord's bb, Scarlet Rosebud, completes them!

Tornado Racer ( far right ) is the trios regular bully, starting from kindergarten, all the way up to their late school days.

Soft mama Pinkie. Little Strawberry sometimes has nightmares, so when he does, little S'more gets mama to come tuck them in together.

About a year after the chaotic trio is born, Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane have a daughter, Pastel Prismarine, not long after Applejack has her son, which I will show in the next pic.

Applejack and Double Diamond's son, Honeycrisp, is born earlier in the year than Prismarine. Applejack and Rainbow Dash sometimes come to each others houses to hang out and let their kiddos socialize, but only in the early days.

Just Pinkie teaching her baby boy how to bake ^^ She got that mom-cut when the twins were five.

Not long later, when S'more and Sunny get to the part of School Year 1 where they need to learn to read, S'more who doesn't like learning to read at home when his parents try to teach him, finds out at school that he's dyslexic when Cheerilee finds him in tears over the wobbly words and comes to the conclusion. Also, yes, Cheerilee is pregnant. She's married to Party Favor, but I have actually yet to design their kid!

Let's assume it is justified, is it technically speaking hard to turn a pony into stone? Could you do it? And if so, what prevents other ponies from using it?

Well, the only cases I know of are when the Elements of Harmony turned Discord into stone or when a cockatrice does so. Obviously a pony can’t use cockatrice magic, though, and the Elements of Harmony are no longer available, at least not in a concrete sense, and wouldn’t be usable by just anypony.

I suppose it’s possible to recreate the effect using a spell, though such a spell would be highly complex and not something anypony could pull off. Transmutation spells do something similar but even basic ones are difficult. Maybe a mutatio praecupia focused on the basic molecular structure, while maintaining the morphology?

I have tried frog-to-orange spells and such, but that’s more a morphological change. I could probably do a flesh-to-stone spell, though the scale might be a problem, since the subject in question is an entire pony. With some practice I think it would be possible.

As for what prevents ponies from doing it, well, primarily their motivations and sense of right and wrong, presumably. There are a lot of terrible things ponies could do to each other if they wanted, but of course they don’t. Unless we’re again assuming any usage would be justified, in which case what’s keeping them from using it is mostly lack of such situations.

Speaking of magical power. Even if magic is not just one single metric, is there any limit to the physical force one unicorn (or alicorn) can exert on a single object? What is the heaviest thing you ever had to lift or pull?

That would be the sun, which is quite heavy. There are heavier stars, but they are so far away one could not move them at all, as the effectiveness of magic drops off over distance, just like gravity. One can move the sun at different speeds, however, so more force than the bare minimum to move the sun is certainly possible.

Of course, this is special magic that requires a certain talent; if regular unicorns were to do it it would require several and would permanently drain them of their magic, so it’s not representative of practically achievable force in general circumstances.

I know Spike really loves comic books. Have you ever read one?

Certainly! They’re not my primary preference, though. The ratio between text and images isn’t quite to my liking, there really should be more text, but they can still be enjoyable.

Most notably, I did read through the Daring Do entire comic series. Unfortunately they aren’t written by A. K. Yearling nor are they considered canon, which detracts from the experience. Makes it feel like they didn’t really matter.
