I'm sure there are Criston Cole fans, and that's totally okay!! (don't keep reading this post though lol) but personally, whenever he shows up on screen, I'm like this

I do not like this man, he's always given me incel vibes, like he doesnt know how to take responsibility for his own actions, and tends to blame the woman in his life instead. Its not his own fault for sleeping with Rhaenyra, she forced him, and she's also the evil one for refusing to drop her whole life and duty to her family, to go run off with him. He's unrealistic and never stopped to ask Rhaenyra what she wanted and what her plans were for the future, he just assumed that they would get married, the only thing that mattered was that he'd get to absolve his sins. He continues to lose his temper, and has killed innocent people as a result. He breaks his vows, and then proceeds to accept roles and positions that require certain honor and skill that he knows deep down he's simply not qualified for. He is unfair to Rhaenyra's kids when they were younger and helped train Alicent's kids instead, showing he is a bitter and vengeful person, not caring who gets caught in the crossfire as long as he gets a good shot in. Even when he decided to kill himself in season 1, sure, he felt guilty for breaking his vows, and thought suicide was the only way to atone for that sin now that marriage was out of the picture, but he stopped when yet again, another woman "saved" him, another woman he can latch onto and then resent when they cannot be everything he needs them to be (not to mention, his sudden suicide after their fight would have been incredibly selfish/cruel to Rhaenyra who would have been riddled with guilt for who knows how long). He has no real agency over his life and actions otherwise, hell, he wasnt even the one that decided he should continue to live, he needed Alicent to do that for him, he doesnt make his own way through the world, he follows orders, and then acts like he had no part in it when things go wrong. He doesn't have a real identity outside of the cloak/pin that he wears, and the women that he beds, yes, he's a flawed character like everyone else in the show, but, what bothers me about him most, is not that he kinda sucks, its because he sucks while also acting like he is above it all, that he's better than everyone else, when really he's just a weak child, looking for love and reassurance, a child that becomes dangerous and hateful when he doesn't get what he wants, i just can't respect a character like this.

with bridgerton....everytime they release some new season im like this is the best thing thats ever happened the dynamics r soooo good the characters r so real and human and this is the best season yet how r they gonna top this ?? And they always always do.

kinda cool how in season one eleven escapes the lab thinking she's the monster & in season four eleven escapes the lab again knowing she never was and that none of what happened was ever her fault.

and how in season two she goes on a journey to figure out part of her past and is told by another of the lab's victims that she needs to find strength in pain and anger & in season four we saw that it was her mother calling her by her real, human name and telling her that she loved her that gave her enough strength to overpower evil and banish it from their dimension, not the hurt and rage she felt at her being taken away. and that again, she was able to perform a miracle and bring her friend back to life by thinking of the love she showed her and the way she had always treated her like she was a human being.

she and her story are just really cool, methinks.

i don't like season three when viewing it as a continuation of seasons one and two, but i do very much like season three when viewing it as the prequel to seasons four and five... hmmmmm.

since ppl seem 2 b talking abt the shift in feel in hermitcraft/life (+adjacent/one-off collab vids) recently can i finally get off my chest tht the recent (within last yr or 2) uptick in 'sus moments' n suggestive comments (n yaoi/shipbaiting, w some, as it n suggestive comments can n often do go hand in hand. but. w/e. also can i use the word 'fanservice' for any of these things. feels almost appropriate here.) feels kinda/moreso for attention n clips (like all of those '___ out of context' compilation vids n clips ppl make on twt/tiktok/tumblr/etc) tbh/than in the past bc they (or at least Some) kno tht the fandom goes wild when they do it n thus it gives them more attention n views n stuff. (note: this isnt All the time not Everything feels this way, esp w ppl who r prone 2 them or hav a more lax channel overall etc etc, but it feels like it sometimes n it makes me cringe. or mayb its jus me reading 2 much in2 things bc i find awkwardness in a lot of things n whatnot. mayb im jus odd.)

Vague role reversal for slick sunday wherein Eddie is a popular top of the food chain alpha, while steve is on the peripheral as an omega

O!Steve might have rich parents tht aren't around, but he's struggled to read at the same pace as his peers for years, numbers sometimes get mixed up, he's seen as strange for his interests, & ppl tend to overlook him in a room which is what he's convinced himself he prefers. He might read slowly but he retains nearly everything he reads, he's very good in history class, he's got an emotional intelligence unmatched. In this AU Steve is the founder of Hellfire, he doesn't DM entire campaigns only one shots or short little jaunts but he owns every book & has a lot of knowledge abt the rules. Steve has taken German every year at Hawkins high & that's how he meets & forms a bond w A!Robin. She joins Hellfire only to sit around & eat snacks & heckle the DM on the behalf of the players. While he's socially vulnerable he's often left alone from physical bullying bc his parents had him attend first a karate class then an aikido class since he was 12 in Indianapolis so he defends himself well.

A!Eddie on the other hand presents as an alpha early, he starts developing the physical strength associated w an alpha, he's a faster runner than before, he joins the track & field team, he becomes the plug for weed & pills once he's a sophomore in highschool, he laughs loud & doesnt necessarily stop the worst of the bullying but is still a gentleman to alpha & beta women & all the omegas, even Steve when he rarely notices him. He dates A!Nancy Wheeler, invites her to a small bonfire in the woods near the trailer park, B!Barb comes along, Barb goes missing (is killed) after everyone breaks off in couples to make out/have sex, season 1 happens pretty much the same for Nancy except Steve's role/redemption is Eddie

Will Byers goes missing & Steve approaches fellow bottom feeder B!Jonathan Byers w condolences & the statistic tht when a child goes missing its more likely to b a family member, when Jonathan goes to confront his dad Steve & Robin tag along. When tht leads nowhere Steve & Robin r told by Jonathan to not get further involved. Wills fake body is found. Then season 1 happens pretty much the same with Steve & Robin only having a peripheral involvement.

Season 2 happens, Billy tries a few times to corner Steve but Hellfire r protective especially Robin, & Steve uses aikido to throw Billy around by using his mass & inertia against him ending the confrontation by giving Billy a broken nose, Billy ends up giving up bc he gets more concerned w dragging 2nd year senior Eddie down & harassing the vulnerable black kid Max has been seen with, season 2 ends w Steve having to repeat senior year and Eddie has to repeat for the 3rd time despite Nancy's attempts to help.

Season 3: Steve doesn't get entirely cut off but his allowance is reduced by A LOT, steve & robin get summer jobs at Scoops Ahoy. Dustin goes to Eddie with the transmission but neither speaks Russian. When their caught talking abt it not so subtly while indulging in ice cream at Scoops Ahoy near closing Robin straight up calls all 3 of them out while stobin lean against the counter judging them. Dustin is a smart ass but when Robin reveals she's a polyglot the 3 start to include her, ignoring Steve & Steve convinces himself he isn't hurt. Then Steve hears music in the transmission & as they're all walking out he has the eureka moment of the ride. Season 3 happens & stobin still end up as the ones trapped by the Russians except Robin does her best to divert their attention to her in this AU, they get drugged & rescued by Dustin Erica & Eddie

Billy dies. Max has very mixed feelings abt it while Steve is relieved bc Billy had continued to harass him all summer

Idk how season 4 goes but I do know we get steddie & buckingham even if Vecna isn't defeated

idk why omega Steve being at the bottom of the food chain is so appealing to me, but it is and then the idea of alpha Eddie eventually pursuing him is so much more fun!
