   A laugh erupts from him, soft and light, rather a rarity for him. He’s always kept a cool and distant deposition about himself. He wasn’t the type to make friends and braid hair and pick daisies. Being a physic magician was just another thing that separated Penny from everyone. There’s something special here and it’s got a lot to do about this girl, she’s wild and mighty and Penny thinks she and him are one and the same kind of person. They’ve got a good thing going here, the sex and shared humor. She’s closer to him than he lets anyone. He grins, leaning real close to her,   ❝ I can do it in three. ❞  He says like a challenge because they’re having crazy, stupid fun with each other.

Penny was an asset for Kady. Someone to help her steal from Brakebills for Marina. Any item that the hedge witch required. It wasn’t something Kady wanted but rather needed to do. To repay the depth she owed Marina concerning her mother. At least, that was what she told herself when sleeping with Penny. Just an instrument to get what she needed and some fun as extra. She pushed any emotion she might feel towards as she did for everything else in life. Sex, thieving and denial. The recipe to success in her complicated life. The smile she gave him might pass as genuine even if she knew it wasn’t (it couldn’t be). “I don’t doubt it.” She kissed his chest in a way that was more romantic that she should’ve allowed herself to be, to pretend to be. “I still have to go. We’ll just have to try it out another time.”

Julia kissed Kady as if asking for forgiveness, hoping to wash away any anger left straddling between them. It was, really, the first time Julia had been alone with Kady since her (re)-transformation into the three-fourths goddess-queen of Filloran dryads. She had been off Earth for a while, but Kady was never far from her thoughts.

She tangled her fingertips, brimming with their divine magic, through Kady’s wonderful curls Julia had always loved so much.

She hated to have to part from Kady’s lips to breathe, but she had to ask her something, too.

“Kady,” Julia said breathlessly, stroking the woman’s cheek, “come to Fillory with me?” Julia knew Kady had never really spent time in Fillory, and that was a shame.

Kady had been pissed at Julia for many things. A friendship growing between them after what happened with Reynard. And then another betrayal when she didn’t kill Reynard. But that didn’t change strong feelings she had for Julia. Someone she had grown to care for deeply, which made the betrayal burn even more. But those lips on hers, those fingers in her hair. She didn’t want it to stop, she wanted more of Julia, all of Julia. But unfortunately, the kiss had to stop.

The question was a shock, considering everything relating to Fillory was not  hers. It was after she was expelled. She hadn’t been really there. But she welcomed the question. Her life on Earth was a mess. And it couldn’t be so bad if Julia was there. She smiled at Julia and pressed her lips on hers. “If there’s more of this, of course.”

      THE BATTLE AGAINST THE CREATURE ENDED IN DISASTER.    a couple of offensive spells to join in the fight ; but honestly , it barely left a mark on    –    whatever the fuck julia summoned.    some kind of god - thing.    it was a terrible idea , one that kady was sure to regret.    still , julia is a friend.    potentially her best friend ; though the vote is still out on that one.    julia needed help    –    & kady just happened to be available.

      pair barely got out alive , spell miraculously transporting them out of the situation.    julia offered to bring the woman to a hospital , but the physical magician knew a certain someone with a few healing abilities.    thus    –    how she finds herself in the room with lou.    if she’d had a moment, she might’ve called first.

      head feels light , stumble making it to the nearest couch.    hand moves away from the wound , red substance covering palm.    ❛    shit.    ❜    word comes out in a hiss ; back arching slightly as the shock wears off, & pain replaces the numbness of adrenaline.    awareness begins to dwindle , darkness becoming more familiar than she cares to admit.

Saying they started on the wrong foot would be an understatement. Kady didn’t like Julia at first. Not in the slightest and had grown to be forced to work with her. But as time grew and she got to know her better, a friendship installed itself. Having sex had always been easy for her and it was just the same with Penny. But it was never serious for her. So when Julia told Kady she wanted her, Kady didn’t hesitate a moment. She kissed her friend, pleased to finally act on the attraction she had for the other. She didn’t act on them before, unsure that Julia felt the same way, if she was straight. But thank god Julia wasn’t.

fucking secrets magic. as soon as alice explains it, penny knows he’s screwed. the gig is up. but for a  w h i l e , he manages to keep his cool. stripped NAKED with grass between his toes, it’s all bedroom eyes and dirty jokes and insubstantial secrets. and he’s holding it together. until ask me something harder if you want us to get somewhere. until ask me why i’m NICE to you. 

even then, he trips right into a lie. tries to act like he’s not afraid. it’s not until he corrects himself that he realises just how fucking TERRIFIED he is. she’s going to hate him. she’s never gonna look at him the same, if she’s around to look at him at all. but --- it’s too late. he has no choice.

despite the ropes around his wrists, it’s simple spellwork to undo the glamour on his ankle. and, well, there’s no way to lift his leg like a damn flamingo without looking like an even bigger fool, so he doesn’t try. just turns to the side and sticks his foot out in kady’s direction, lights a FLAME between his palms so she can see in the dark. his heart pounds. he forces the words out.
