Lucy had been nervously clutching at her little bouquet while Overseer Jackson stepped in to discuss the exchange with her dad, happy to reunite with a friend. "So... who am I marrying?" she asked playfully, but with a hint of nervousness, and the Overseer moved aside to let her future husband come in. Oh. He was a charming looking man, now that was sure. Older than her, which raised a few questions - had he chosen to not marry? had he not been given the chance before because there was something wrong with him? He was married and divorced or widowed? - but she noted with relief that there was nothing scary or immediately displeasing about him. He was not a cannibal or full of tumors either, no matter what Norm said. She hadn't seen his butt yet, to finish refuting everything her brother had suggested. Plus, since he was handsome, it would not be difficult to do her part in repopulating America, and that was great.

So Lucy smiled, her wide, happy, friendly smile, "Hi, I'm Lucy. Do you have a name?"

The day had come, at long last.

While there were so few people in Hestia Familia and the manor was meant to house over one hundred people, it still felt like the place was bustling, even before Hogni was out of bed. Standing in front of the mirror he'd bought for his room, he...wasn't too pleased with the signs of sleep deprivation under his eyes.

...When was the last time he had a good night's sleep? The day Hedin arrived? Gripping the sides of the mirror, he looked a little more closely--and startled when there was a knock on the door.

"Y...You may--The...door's open..." he called out, one hand letting go of the mirror as Welf walked in. Leaving behind his usual yukata-style outfit, the blacksmith was wearing black slacks and a button-up with a vest that matched his hair. The rest of the Familia was told they could wear whatever they wanted, so he expected the others to just wear what they normally did...this was a surprise.

"Like it? I figured I had at least one nice thing I could wear for the big day." He walked over to the elf and looked into the mirror with him. "Hedin won't let anyone in his room, so I figured I'd come check on you. The Goddess has been in back since like three in the morning setting up the altar in back...How're you holding up? You look nervous."

Hogni took a slow breath and the exhale was a little shaky. "I-I should...be alright..." It'd been awhile since he'd had any need to dress nicely, but he went shopping over the last few days just to make sure he had the perfect outfit that Hedin would be pleased with. A dark suit with a very subtle purple undertone and a tailcoat. He wasn't planning to exchange his fingerless gloves for anything else, though.

"Alright...wanna head out? Everyone else should be done getting ready, too."

Baptism By Eclipse

A ritual to inspire radical change of the self

Before the eclipse, prepare ashes of cedar and mesquite wood

Make a pitcher of the following and be sure to charge under the sun for several hours. (Do not drink!)

water

rosemary for mental power and motivation

bay leaf for manifestation 

sage for wisdom

lavender for peace and acceptance 

cinnamon bark for personal strength 

comfrey for protection during transition 

Prepare three offerings of your choosing for the sun, moon, and earth.

Just before the eclipse, invite the mind, body, spirit to the ceremony

"I invite the Human Spirit in the form of the Sun, the Human Mind in the form of the Moon, and the Human Body in the form of the Earth to witness this ceremony. As these three celestial bodies align, I offer the following gifts in exchange for your favor." 

Present the offerings. 

"I ask the Earth, the body, to nurture me and guide me through this time of transformation as you have always done."

As the eclipse begins, use the ashes to draw a dark circle on your forehead and say,

"I ask the Moon, the Mind, as you eclipse the sun, let your shadow pass over me and carry my old self with you when you depart."

Meditate on the aspects of yourself you are letting go of, visualize yourself releasing these things, picture yourself as an empty vessel, a clean slate.

As the sun begins to appear say,

"I ask the Sun, the Spirit, as you return, let your light shine on me and grant me the strength to manifest my best self. " 

Pour the water over your face, letting it wash the ashes away. 

Meditate on the person you will become. How will you act, think, feel? Feel the suns warmth on your skin, charging you. Feel the herbs working their magic to inspire you and guide you. You will be a better version of yourself.

Sadie grabs the collar and the box of engraved tags from their new home for when they're not in use before turning back to the other three. She grins at Daniel and holds up the collar for all of them to see. It's a plain black collar with a metal ring in the center for them to chain him up as wanted, but also to hang the small heart-shaped tags they got for him as well. "You ready to be officially owned?"

Violet grins when she sees it, turning back to Daniel and gently running her hand across his back, pulling him closer to her.

Waylon just smirks and watches him, crossing his arms while he waits for Daniel to answer.

for what it’s worth,   howl pendragon has settled into his role in daenerys’ court quite well.   he enjoys the appeal of advising and planning well,   if only because @draconisa is oftentimes so open to his suggestions.   having such a position also means he finds it incredibly easy to slither in and out of predicaments as he pleases,   which,   for what it's worth,   is exactly what the wizard feels most comfortable with.   in any gathering,   he finds it far better to present himself as his own person,   rather than as a someone particularly close to the queen   ( not that everyone doesn’t already know of their particular  …  relationship ).

today’s ceremony is to celebrate once the ceremony has ended,   howl slips his arm through hers,   pressing his side to hers as he leans over,   murmuring just loud enough so that only she can hear.    ❝    i don’t suppose the visiting diplomats are very fond of staying here.   luckily,   i have them sitting as far away from you as possible.   i have a feeling they won’t offer very enlightening conversation.    ❞

today was supposed to be the day she got away. today, they were supposed to somehow find a different courthouse to get married at and live the rest of their lives together. yet, her guardian is still forcing them to the ceremony, pretending that his ward is still the straight-a, perfect student that she's always been. not the slut that's about to find herself with a baby in a few months from now. but for now, she's pulled her husband into her room the second she could and pleaded with him to fix the problem.
