Abyssal War Involvement. (Paimon HC)

Note: this is thread related and thereby Canon to this blog even if the thread is on the pause at the moment.

General gist.

Would 100% recommend reading over the thread i have on hold on with lady-haborym to get a grasp of how official her presence in the in-game War had been rather than staying on the wayside, helpless and simply leaving all the bulk to Lumine/Aether.

Well them and anyone else who gave their all.

Vouching.

Paimon may not have spoken herself to any of the Tribe Chiefs on mutual ground but her existence and overall presence as a independent individual has become that of acknowledgement. As it stands, Wayna was the first to vouch for her, leading the pixie in having a temporary seat at the war table.

If not for her fighting prowess at current, then for her loyalty to the Traveler (whichever twin).

She may not have outstanding deeds to speak of but it never deterred her from wanting to do all she can without any sort of recognition, atleast not on official capacity.

Validated proposal.

One of the biggest suggestion Paimon brought to the table, was maybe on the risky side but it came with an advantage. Much to the arguments over such a move to pull off; blowing off bridges that surrounded the Stadium was the proposal set down.

Risky as it was, removing blind spots and leaving ennemies (those with no aerial mobility), to congregrate in one spot, (the main road), potentially removed blindspots and ambushes, regardless of the opening portals, if to defend the Archon and those sheltered at the Arena after rescue operations.

However, since it was her idea to begin with, Paimon gladly helped in regard to the reconstruction of the bridges post the Abyssal War the people faced.

Involvement itself.

If to cover more ground, if to do more than simply watching like she has once before, there was no time to sit back and leave everything to Lumine (essentially the twin i default to).

Therefore, they split up during that time, if to increase chances in saving Natlanians, all those that were at reach, this include the general wildlife and the Saurians, & not to forget the Fatui under Capitano's command.

She may have been given a temporary spot at the Table but she, nonetheless, fully intended to be on the field of battle. After all, words that time and time again, came up, became ingrained in Paimon herself.

No one fights alone.

The Scions becoming targeted because of their courier role as seen in-game, became a breaking point, leaving Paimon to set sight of this Tribe's location, if to eradicate the swarm of monsters on their homeground and rescue anyone that barricaded themselves to safety up there.

Personal drive.

As per her Canon Divergence post, the muse sudden growth spurt and unlocking of all sort of hidden abilities, happened around the Inazuma AQs and it is where her personal drive to do something, anything at all, stems from.

Watching innocents go at each others throat, real lives that could no longer get back up again, on the beach battle with Sara's force, gave that drive to Paimon, the drive to protect and fight.

Having friends like Gorou and Kokomi, among other military-esque figures, certainly helped Paimon on an analytical front and to an extent, in the art of battle.

If she can save people this time, if she can protect anyone at all, then protect she will.

This said, she had also helped in the aftermath of what Fontaine had to suffer from, wheter in the Court or rescue efforts for those that had been misplaced during the flood.

Flevance built its entire economy on the export of white lead products for a century. That means a whole lot of highly toxic shit is circulating in the North Blue and possibly beyond, unless everyone threw their white lead stuff out when a whole country got sick from it. Was that even publicly revealed? Or did they go fully with the story of sudden mysterious infenction spreading? What's common knowledge and what was kept secret? What was in that Flevance book Doflamingo was reading? Was that available at the Spider Miles library? Sold in book stores? Like, how did he know all that? Do others know all that?

People could still be eating with spoons that slowly poison them with each use or live in rooms painted with white lead paint. They exported toys and jewelry and makeup that people were using for a hundred years. What I'm saying is that cases of white lead disease should be popping up elsewhere eventually and Law would be the only one able to help.

Can't stop thinking about the wider consequences of Flevance left on the world, especially how it was handled in the media. Who knows what and who still cares etc. The government didn't just let Flevance get poisoned, they also got rich spreading that poison to the rest of the world. For an entire century.

Also Law grew up in a damn castle. Just a sidenote.

Why is it that whenever ppl write Peko without Fuyuhiko it’s always Fuyuhiko being an apathetic asshole and Peko having an existential crisis for ten pages.

 It had already been a busy day. He’d recorded a lecture, pressed the tin plate to copy it for his archives, run several stacks of paper work from office to office, gotten stalled by at least three professors trying to cover for their students’ late assignments, and fetched the dean of the academy’s poro from its grooming appointment. All that on top of his usual classes.

 He was exhausted, but he had to keep working.

 Now he was assisting Professor Heimerdinger in welcoming the latest students to their freshly renovated west wing, which handled general scientific education. He stood more heavily against is cane, his leg giving him those numb shocks it liked to when it was running on fumes. Just a little longer, he told himself.

 Oh, but the professor was going on and on. He sounded like he could be talking for hours about the luxuries and advancements in education they had afforded to them, and how past generations of students had all come and shared the same experience. At least he didn’t have to do the talking. He had horrid stage fright. He let out a little sigh and looked sidelong, letting his eyes graze over the crowd of faces.

 “Alright, Viktor!” Heimerdinger said with a clap. “Hand out all these academy maps to our newest wave of geniuses!” Before he could say a word, a stack of thick, printed maps was shoved into his free arm. “I’m off to the Council for a meeting!” Heimerdinger said with a wave as he trotted off, his poro following close behind.

 He saw the crowd approaching him and froze up like a statue. This was dangerously close to public speaking. Just enough to set off his nerves. He didn’t have a free hand to pass the maps out, so he just stood there like a glorified shelf, watching each one of their faces as they came and took a slip off the stack. “E-ehh… Welcome,” he would say occasionally if they stared at him for long enough. It was all so agonizingly awkward.

 He hadn’t seen her yet – not past the crowds. She would have to come up to him for a map, to get his attention.

People trying to justify their dislike for Wyll (gross) seem to forget that he is a folk hero first and foremost. He's only a warlock BECAUSE he's a folk hero. He was so loyal to his family and city at such a young age that he was willing to sell his soul to a devil just to save them. It's not just an "evil" (debatable that warlocks are supposed to be evil) thing thrown in to give him an edge.

He (and his warlock class) isn't written as a "subversion" of the paladin trope. (Nor is he supposed to be like Alistair which is a stupid ass take.) Wyll is a knightly character with loyalty as his main trait who is also a fun guy. He isn't "goofy", he's charming; you know...like a knight. If you don't like him because you don't care for nice characters who want to do good, fine. That's a reasonable excuse. But it's unfair to try to twist it into him being a poorly written character because that just isn't true.

All of the main origin characters in BG3 are suffering under the thumb of someone who abuses and/or uses them. Wyll's is Mizora, a devil he turned to to save the people he loved. Not JUST because he wanted magic powers.

Also the justifications that say they don't care about him because he isn't tied to the main story—neither is Astarion 😐

The Matt as a father made my heart brr.

It does make me wonder what Jane and Matt would want in their future? Whether it’s just a cat, bird, or a bunch of turtles from a sewer. Or maybe just no animals and just them and their friends. I’m curious

TY! It was definitely a warm and fuzzy post! I see no reason we can't acknowledge the difficulties he'd have as a parent (both as someone with trauma and as something with super senses), because it makes all the time, love, and effort he'd put in that much more meaningful. And God knows he'd love that kid with everything in him.

And oooh, this is a fun question! So I will say they are going to eventually get a cat (I did a oneshot about it a while back and it did well, and since I'd kinda always wanted to bring a cat into TRT, we're going to roll with it with some adjustments). That's going to become TRT canon! Ciro always had cats so Jane has a nostalgia for them, and that cat will also be a vehicle to help process some of her trauma (I haven't delved heavily into it yet, but her vague mentions of cats being 'fellow subjects' while she was held by Cyrus James will tie into this). Likewise, I'm on team, Matt needs a cat. I believe it would be really helpful for his mental health to have this little animal who just adores him, all these happy little purrs and cuddles, and a reminder that Matt's allowed to nurture something good, he's not going to kill whatever or whoever he touches. Matt's got his own emotional hangups there, but he'll work through it like Jane does. And once they're in that boat, I see them as always having at least one cat around, if not two.

The one thing in this arena that I won't ever make official TRT canon about their future is whether they wind up with kid(s) or not. That's something I feel is incredibly personal and so I want to leave that open for people to decide themselves - do they have no kids? Just one? An entire football team? Your choice! I'll support it all as potential options, and in each of those? They're happy, whether that's the two them growing old and sitting in their red rocking chairs, having lived a long, happy life with their friends and cats and the Nelson clan who sees them as family, or as two parents to a herd of much loved kids and eventual parkour inclined grandkids.

That said, I did have the hilarious idea for a short What If oneshot involving them and their potential five-year-old daughter, who would be the bane of the principal's existence due to her penchant both for swearing and for questioning the justice of various school rules she does not agree with. But I'd mark that very clearly as a What If, and not as canon. It would just be a fun thing for me to explore because I think it would be hilarious.

You cannot tell me that Eddie “I’m a nester” Diaz doesn’t want it. Hello, giving up this tightly held control and this persona that he’s spent so many years trying to do “right” but never feeling like he’s got it fully figured out?? Depriving himself of things that would bring him joy bc they’re not “normal” or whatever for alphas? Literally he & Buck can have babies that look like them and Eddie can be a dad and we KNOW Eddie being a dad is like, hardwired into his bone marrow. He’d love it.

Also the whole Jealous Buck vs Possessive Eddie also fits in here, in some way, I think.
