The Dead Sea Trilogy is being imported to Thousand Roads!

I'm very excited to announce that I will now be cross-posting my fics onto Thousand Roads Forums, a site dedicated entirely to writing and discussing Pokemon fanfics!

I have like one or two users to thank for introducing me to this website, and I've never really been on an old-school, forum style community before, but I'm really interested and excited to be learning. It seems like a really neat place, especially because it's a community JUST dedicated to fanfiction, and Pokemon fanfiction specifically.

They allow other fandoms' fics, too, and even original works! The focus of course, is still Pokemon, but I think it's really neat that it seems to be a central, encouraging place for writers! They host fandom events, have a discord server, etc etc etc, and while I'm still learning the ropes, I'm really excited to be more involved. Especially because I hate hate haatteee the direction the internet is going in and I long for the days of yore when I was 10 and knew of fandom forums but didn't know how to use them.

I'd really recommend you check them out and consider making an account, even if just to read and comment on other fics!

Pokémon Writing Contest: Pokeworld Daily Life

The Pokémon World is a place of adventure, full of legendary heroes, outlandish villains, and world-ending threats. However, it’s also full of people living peaceful lives: spending their days at work or school, keeping up with their hobbies, and taking for granted the fact that they live in a world full of magical monsters. How would the life of a farmer, a chef, an accountant be different in the Pokémon World than here on Earth? How do heroes spend their days when their adventures are done? For Thousand Roads’ fifth annual one-shot contest, we want you to show us what daily life’s really like in the Pokémon World!

Here's how it works:

Over the course of June, write a one-shot fanfic of 10,000 words or less that focuses on daily life in the Pokémon World

Everyone who enters will receive the following:

In-depth feedback from our panel of judges

The opportunity to promo their entry in a feature post highlighting contest participants

In addition, the judges will select their top three stories for the opportunity to feature in our zine focused on daily life in the Pokémon World, which will be released later this year.

welp. Definitely intended to answer that last ask privately, was very confused when it showed up getting notes. This is why we don't tumbl after midnight, folks.

In any case, I've fixed the problem with the PMD quiz; it was the comment system, as usual, causing problems. I also corrected a problem that was causing the CAPTCHA to malfunction.

The site very obviously needs a lot of TLC and updates at this point. Which is sad! I've been neglecting it for a long time. And I have no idea when I'd be able to make the time for it, honestly--I have way too much on my plate as it is. Nonetheless, bug reports are appreciated, and I'll do my best to keep things at least functional for as long as possible.

like this is just my late-night read but- it feels like guilt qbad is trying to twist into pride. he keeps needling away at it. “i killed them all, over and over and over again.” “they were hunted by a monster.”

it’s like- reassurance. like a nail he’s trying o beat into his head. he’s had SO much trouble with legitimately hurting his friends, despite making that vow all the way back when the eggs first went missing, despite all the tree talk and the promises to save the kids no matter what. He never faltered with elq, and that protected them. He keeps faltering now. Sometimes he doesnt remember the code, or cucurucho, or skeppy. But that doesnt matter, right? Because he’ll protect the eggs. He’ll be the monster. he is the monster. he can and he will protect them even as his seams start ripping and he keeps breaking further and further apart. even at his worst, he’ll do whatever he needs to protect the eggs.
