In Which I Blame the Wool Trade for The Apocalypse
I have a longstanding headcanon for how to trace the empires s1 finale back to one thing: you guessed it, the wool trade. Specifically, to the cessation in trade between the Grimlands and Rivendell after the eternal winter arc, and to the blood sheep.
Here’s the state of the wool trade, in canon: after the dust settles from the eternal winter arc, there’s no trade between the two empires. But fWhip still needs wool. So what’s a Count to do but steal some blood sheep from his ally and hide them in the caves beneath his city, and cross his fingers that nothing goes wrong?
The next thing you know, the city blows up from the unstable, poorly-mixing magic in the Forge reactor when fWhip makes Jimmy a new Codfather head. Do you remember another time when mixing magic caused things to explode?
Earlier in the season, when Katherine was working on brewing her anti-corruption potions, she gathered magical materials from all different empires, including Mythland, where Sausage provided her with blood sheep fleece. Upon mixing it with the other magic artifacts, her cauldron exploded. Her conclusion was that blood sheep magic didn’t react well with other types of magic.
Do you see where I am heading yet?
The cod and salmon in the reactor were distinct entities, with their own magical properties. It only follows that their mixture is unstable; but the whole city in ruins? Not only that, but all the cataclysms to follow, with nothing to amplify the aftershocks?
There were blood sheep beneath the city. And the blood sheep were already upset, per Sausage’s lore. What more would it take to tick them off?
It is my conclusion that mixing cod and salmon above such large quantities of blood sheep was what turned a bad reaction into a force to destroy empires. As Katherine’s cauldron exploded when the seemingly-stable blood sheep fleece entered the mix of magics, the blood sheep living beneath the Forge and the city unleashed massive magical damage upon the two powers’ combination.
In short, the resolution of a never ending feud lit the spark. But it was the remnants of a cold war that let it burn the empires down.

having a bit of a dilemma because from everything I see about Interview with the Vampire, Daniel Molloy looks like one of the most fascinating characters of all time, but everyone else in that show looks absolutely insufferable

Okay, three loads of laundry, dishes, and all of my errands later - I'm sitting down again.
Part of me would like to delete my whole inbox. Part of me wants MOTA prompts. Part of me knows I should be working on the TDS epilogue. Part of me knows I should nail down Blind Dates - and that I can't use Cord, because I already did her.

Anyone be interested in me drawing MC wearing clothes of other RFA members? Not even necessarily her cosplaying the other members. Sort of like if they were in a relationship, it would be believable that she got those clothes out of the other member's closet. Would you guys be down for that?

Curious as to why they’re choosing to tease a Cursed Child movie right now (and honestly surprised that the original trio wants to return to the franchise) but I think I can get behind it?
Idk, I think CC is pretty underrated—it’s really only the last act where things go a little off-the-rails. There’s some good material there in the first 3/4!
EDIT: Oh god I just remembered that Snape is in Cursed Child. Idk if I’d feel comfortable with them CGI-ing Alan Rickman but I also don’t want him to be recast!

maybe eddie’s parents taking chris from eddie in buck’s coma dream was his subconscious worrying about what would happen if the will ever has to come into play. obviously it was shown as him not having introduced carla to eddie but perhaps his deep subconscious is still just as worried about eddie’s parents fighting to take christopher away, if anything were to happen to eddie, as the day eddie told him about the will. not only is his subconscious thinking about things that have already happened, that would change if he wasn’t there, but also about things that may happen in the future if he isn’t there too. he does and will continue to matter to the family he has created.

Thoughts?
I occasionally make very long blog posts about art I enjoy on SpaceHey, but I dont believe many who use that website are very interested in things like very old art or very old books... Judging from how none of my posts even have one "kudos", I suppose not many? (Though the searchablity of that site is not very good.)
I do post those things simply because I enjoy writing them from time to time, and i do not care for widespread attention, but maybe there are other people who would like to see these things? I remain unsure.
Perhaps i should stick to uploading images to Pinterest? Or maybe post on here, all i do is reblog all day.... I'm sure someone is bound to appreciate it?

it would seem it’s been awhile since I’ve been actually active on here. I’m hoping to turn that around but in order to do that I need to know if anyone who had threads / sent asks to me previously, would you like to continue those?
Or would it be easier for everyone if I erased everything and moved on?

I feel like im late to this discussion (cuz the movie came out in like 2017) but I finally got around to listening to the Murder on the Orient Express audio book and was incredibly surprised when, in the book, the passengers were like "yes I know that child, I was her godmother/nurse/dog walker/first teachers best friends cat/etc the person who murdered the child and very publicly got away with it was the man who died? No I didn't recognise him."
They don't say this in the film, so Poirot just kinda pulls it out of nowhere. Yes it makes it incredibly dramatic and that scene gave me chills at the cinema but it did feel like a bit of a guess from Poirot.
Poirot being told that they knew the child doesn't take away any impact of the final reveal and I'm curious as to what Poirot lovers think about the changes made in the film now.
