Concepts for evil team efverse substitutes...
a lot of this stuff is more spaced out throughout history than it is in the actual mainline games btw👍
Kanto-hoenn:
Kanto:
Team "rocket" itself was at the height of its success when eon and ditto were around ten and the team had a successful year or so from then where they could pretty much do whatever.... especially after they got a leash on Mewtwos power...
I kind of like the idea of replacing Giovannis role w a porygon2 that would evolve into a porygon z during like. a dramatic moment....
Johto:
Unbeknownst to the general public team "rocket" also had underground happenings in Johto as well, that were being run by 3 of their four admins while the fourth was in Kanto aiding porygon
When team rocket had finally been disbanded in Kanto shortly after losing Mewtwo their underground operations in Johto continued...
Until eventually that had been stopped too.
Hoenn:
About fifty years ago, when sableyes story happened btw, is when the team aqua/ magma thing went down in hoenn.
I think it was probably around the time of various crises that made a lot of water types form team aqua and that team magma was started as well
i havent played emerald in awhile but i think that the events played out w a bit more similarity to that situation than r/s?(ie both teams active not just one main one)

desert flygon
#pokemon#pokemon ruby and sapphire#hoenn#gen 3#flygon#aquanutart#i made this in the dead of winter a couple of years ago#after wanting for the whole year to enter the tcg illustration contest but i ended up working on something at the last minute as usual#i don't like competition but i enjoy having a reason to draw a pokemon with a lot of other people#i was waking up early before work to keep making progress on it but i thought i wasn't going to make the deadline#and when i had just decided i had done as much as i could and couldn't get it finished#i went out on that cold snowy day and on that day and that day only for some reason my car wouldn't start#we tried starting it with jumper cables but i'm not sure i know how to use them.. anyway i had to call someone and wait for them to come#i had to call in late to work and then i was waiting for two hours. which was just about enough time for me to keep working on this#i was able to submit it seconds before the deadline the next morning#and it's very cool to me that i was able to participate even though i didn't place (i'm actually glad i didn't place)#(because i would rather it go to someone who worked longer on their entry and/or started earlier before the deadline)#(i just wanted to join everyone in drawing a pokemon but i would prefer for it to just be its own thing and not compared to other pokemon)#this is partly why it's cool to me to have the tcg cards from the contest i also entered!#i chose to draw flygon because gen 3 is one of my favorites and i grew up in the desert and always wanted to imagine pokemon running around#that was the last era of my childhood before i moved and had to grow up where everything was new and different#for 12 years overseas i was homesick for this sun#i'm in a snowier place now but i see the sun even in winter so i'm happy!#since drawing this i appreciate and notice flygon a lot more! i always thought trapinch was very cute#i love the scene in twilight wings final episode when flygon is looking around and scanning; it's so cool#and because of this i got very excited to see flygon in the pokearth documentary flying like a dragonfly#i had wanted to imagine it landing a bit like a bug

what are your thoughts on pokemon horizons now that the series is quite far along? For me it felt slow at the beginning but I really liked the change of pace compared to ash’s journey. Liko and Roy aren’t battle protégés but I feel like they’ve done a fantastic job at building up their battle skill
I think Pokémon Horizons is the best thing the anime has put out in some time, Ash’s version has been running on fumes for ages and I was already getting tired of the formula back in Hoenn with my full series watch through.
The mystery is interesting the characters are very likeable and the villains are actual threats, I just really hope more people give it a chance because so many are like “ash isn’t in it where’s ash I hate it if ash isn’t there weehhhhhh.” (Even though when ash was there they were all “I hate ash why doesn’t he grow up why can’t we have someone else be the protagonist weeeehhhh.”)

Kichijiro. He/Him. 40s. Experienced pokemon trainer and studying ornithologist. Currently making a living selling/trading pokemon professionally; please inquire if you're looking for a pokemon native to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh.
I don't do competitive battling anymore, but I did in the past (non-circuit) so I may speak on the subject now and again. I'm also living in an RV for work purposes (no, I don't need help, I'm not homeless, I could buy a house if I wanted) and will likely also post about that from time to time. I don't care if you find it boring.
Please ask me about ornithology and my current research projects in Kantonian farfetch'd and its possible evolution.
My current team consists of pidgeot, noctowl, psyduck, delibird, farfetch'd, and rowlet. Feel free to ask about them as well.
// ooc
hiiii <3 my name is kristopher!! he/him + 22 :] i'm an enviro science/agriculture student, avid birder, and passionate hiker + camper!! please keep in mind that i'm a white american trying to portray a japanese man as best i can; feel free to let me know if i get anything wrong or do anything insensitive!!
i also run @pikachuwanted (meowth)
Tumblr media
the pokemon lore i go with is based on a mixture of the games, anime, and comics, alongside my own headcanons that i've come up with over the years!! i'm totally okay with people interacting who have differing and even totally contradicting hcs to my own!! it's all in good fun.
that said, generally some baseline 'rules' (and i use the word loosely) that'll likely come up often enough i go with are:
pokemon are typically more intelligent than real animals and are treated as such. they have an understanding of human concepts that real animals don't, and can even communicate now and again. however, even humanoid pokemon still have animalistic behaviors, since they're not humans.
while multiple universes do exist, kichijiro is generally unaware of and skeptical about this concept. most direct references to this will be glossed over and not taken seriously by him. i generally just don't really like storylines like this and probably won't engage in them.
Tumblr media
legendary pokemon are provably real, but rarely seen, and never documented as being captured by trainers. i won't ignore characters that have legendaries, but this won't be referenced outside of direct interactions! pseudo-legendaries are just considered to be very rare.
team rocket (which kichi is totally not in) is generally a more realistic crime syndicate that does genuinely awful shit aside from just stealing pokemon.
please keep the following in mind when interacting with me!
content warning: this blog may at any time contain themes of smoking, drinking, alcoholism/drug use, suicidal thoughts, pokemon death/abuse, veterinary practices, organized crime, guns, and non-canon typical violence. bolded topics will always be tagged! please let me know if you want anything else to specifically be tagged.
pelipper mail is on, but please don't go crazy with it, i'll just ignore it if i don't know what to say or think it's not going to be fun for me. magic anons are off.
fallers and sentient pokemon are fine to interact, but i'd rather not interact with eebies specifically
i'm totally down to write literate threads if anyone wants! i love long-form writing and am more than happy to plot something out. all of these will either be on discord or @finefeatheredfoes
kichijiro is not a nice man! he's trying to be better, but he's a generally rude person who's done a lot of bad things in his life and has been in rough circles for over 20 years. he might be mean, but this doesn't reflect my thoughts on you/your character at all!! if this upsets you, please just let me know.
related, but if you have ANY issues with me please please PLEASE bring them up to me in dms!!! i'm always willing to talk things out, and i'll never freak out on you or whatever :]

couple of thoughts on the new op:
Tumblr media
interesting that the "liko's team" shots all include pagogo. i guess that means it probably won't stay in its ball for too long, then? sorta like how the original liko's pendant and roy's pokeball mysteries were big things in the original marketing that got resolved surprisingly quickly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we already knew spinel got a new design, but it seems like coral, sidian, and agate all kept their old ones. but you know who's missing here? amethio and hamber. they are nowhere to be seen in the entire op and i am very curious as to what that could mean after where they were left off.
Tumblr media
speaking of missing characters, this is the only reference to the rising volt tacklers at all, so i imagine they're probably gonna stay disbanded at least through most of this arc.
Tumblr media
ult in kalos, presumably lumiose city. i'm guessing he's from hoenn given he has a sableye and his design sorta gives hoenn vibes to me, but maybe he and roy met while training in kalos. also, it's hard to make out, but is he holding... rayquaza's pokeball? is he after rayquaza because he found the same ancient pokeball roy did and basically had a repeat of roy's original arc?
Tumblr media
no extra comment, this is just a really cute shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so a bunch of new characters at the end. i'm willing to bet the ones from the wider shot are probably just one-offs in the same way the paldea arc op teased all the pokemon that showed up there (at the very least, they don't seem like just generic designs to me), but those two new ones in the closer shot are very interesting, since they're positioned directly next to ann and nemona. nemona showing up at all is a bit surprising to me, since it seemed like we were gonna pivot from paldea to kalos for a little bit, but if ann is now a big shot trainer at indigo academy and being approached by cyrano, it makes sense that nemona could intersect with that side plot (not sure where the other orange academy student slots into this now). the nidothing fan i'm guessing will wind up being dot's informant, since we know she was asking her viewers to give her tips about potential laquium encounters. she also has a litten, so she might be one of the new indigo academy students liko mentioned in this episode, too.
also, in a broader sense of what this big group shot could mean, it seems like a throughline of the show going forward will be the rising volt tacklers revealing spinel's lies and reclaiming the truth. what if all of these people are people that learn the truth and sort of spiritually join the rvt, and we're seeing roy, liko, and dot rebuild the rvt into something greater?

Saw all the new fics popping up so I'm throwing my hat into the ring because I enjoy pain and crave that angst. Purely self indulgent with my personal headcanons thrown in.
Series: Pokemon Horizons
Characters: Liko, Roy, Dot, Ludlow, Murdock, Mollie, Orla
Warnings: Major spoilers for HZ089
--
The night was peaceful. A cloudless sky granted easy access to the stars twinkling above. It was a beautiful sight worth gazing at on an ordinary, peaceful day.
Ludlow’s steps were silent as he shuffled his way down the corridor. For once, his Quagsire remained in its Pokeball after spending hours utilizing its water to cool down overheated engines. It was quiet but he knew for certain that no one was actually asleep. He didn’t think anyone was able to after…
He inhaled sharply. His already small stature seemingly shrunk from how his shoulders drew in from swallowing down the emotions clogging his throat, then loosened with his deep, sorrowful sigh.
Ludlow was no stranger to loss. He lived a long, fulfilling life, outliving many of his peers. Traveling with the Rising Volt Tacklers had been his way to rest and unwind after many years of acting, to enjoy the wonders of adventure with people young enough to be his grand kids.
He always had this belief that he’d be the first to go. It wasn’t something he particularly thought about but it was present at the back of his mind. And he’d be, while not necessarily fine, accept it. He had a good run, seen sights and did things that he hoped these young folks too would get to experience by the time they reached his age.
It never truly occurred to him how it’d feel if someone else left first, especially one so tragically young.
He still remembered the day of their first meeting. Ludlow had docked his boat at Porto Marinada, intending to browse the market for anything that caught his interest. What he came across instead was a young man splayed out on the docks, seemingly uncaring that he was blasted by the strong sunlight.
Ludlow decided to check on his well being. It led to him striking up a conversation with the lad, and then inviting him onto his boat to go fishing. From there, he slowly learnt bits and pieces of this young man named Friede, who recently quit his job, had a Charizard and didn’t really know what he wanted to do with his life.
He knew a lost soul when he saw one. Ludlow could have parted ways with Friede after returning back to port but instead, he offered the lad future fishing trips as a means of providing purpose. Friede took him up on it, and for months they’d sail together, where Ludlow acted as a quiet pillar for Friede to lean against as he grappled with his lack of direction in life.
When he disappeared for awhile and returned with a Pikachu on his shoulder, there was a spark to his eyes that told Ludlow he’d be alright. He listened to Friede’s plans, granting him ownership of the Olivine to bring it all the way to Hoenn before finally hearing his seemingly impossible dream of converting this simple fishing boat into an airship.
The Brave Olivine came to be, and now he was a part of the Rising Volt Tacklers. Ludlow bore witness to its many ups and downs, silently observing the lost youth’s growth into a confident, capable captain. He believed that Friede’s potential was limitless, and only hoped he could see that for however long he had left.
Now, it seemed that would never happen.
“Grief and love are conjoined,” Ludlow uttered to the empty corridor, his voice low and thick. “You don’t get one without the other.”
-----
Within the ship’s galley, Murdock slowly pulled out different ingredients from various cabinets. He worked on autopilot, relying on muscle memory to pull out the utensils needed to whip up… something.
Truthfully, a part of Murdock didn’t want to cook. Lead weighed down his limbs; joints sore from the tense position he held throughout steering the airship past its limits until they safely landed. It was different from regular piloting, and in the situation they were in, required him to pour in all his focus and energy to ensure everyone’s safety.
Well, almost everyone.
Murdock braced himself against the counter, palms flat on its surface as he squeezed his eyes shut. His broad shoulders shook from the fresh wave of grief that crashed into him, sucking in breaths like a man drowning on air. He then held his breath long enough to make spots dance in his eyes before exhaling the sharp panic within his chest.
He opened his eyes, staring sluggishly at his hands. Murdock took in another settling breath before he resumed his previous task. Regardless of how off kilter he felt, people still need to eat. That was his primary task when he wasn’t piloting the ship.
(Now, he might have to shift his priorities. He was the only other person capable of flying the Brave Olivine after all).
Murdock decided on making pancakes. It was quick and easy, with little room for error in terms of tastes. Even if he wanted nothing more than to bury his head into his hands and cry, his crew deserved to eat something tasty after everything that happened.
As he made the batter, his mind wandered. Murdock recalled his first meeting with Friede, the guy who endlessly praised his cooking after he left the pastry shop, giving him a much needed confidence boost. He listened to his pitch about needing someone to make meals for this new group, ultimately joining once he realized he could make people happy with his meals; people who would appreciate his skills and him as a person, too.
He remembered Friede’s help while he studied to earn his own pilot’s license, the nights spent brainstorming over treats that would encourage his niece to eat. The way he’d nag Friede into eating better as well as the times where he received assurances on the way he treated Dot. Murdock’s hands continued working even as his mind sank deeper into his memories.
Eventually, he managed to make a more humble spread than the usual meals he’d make but one that would sufficiently satisfy everyone (if they had the appetite for it). Murdock was in the midst of setting out the plates when a realization struck him with the intensity of Cap’s Thunderbolts.
Ah, right. There was an empty plate now.
It was this simple thought that broke him. Murdock sunk onto a chair, buried his head into his hands and cried.
-----
It was only after Mollie finished the check-ups that she allowed herself room to breathe.
Leaning back in her chair, she threw an arm over her eyes, heaving out a deep, exhausted sigh. Mollie felt a headache brewing in her temples, a typical sign of the stress she endured throughout the harrowing flight away from Laqua. Keeping the Pokemon calm took a lot out of her mentally, too.
That, and consoling the ones who witnessed the traumatizing sight of Friede and Charizard being swallowed by the wind.
(She heard their cries first. Surged to her feet and stumbled her way down the corridor to find the kids and Orla holding onto one another. Saw their tear stricken face. Felt her heart drop to her stomach at Friede’s absence. Tasted iron in her mouth from biting her inner cheek to keep her calm once they broke the news to her).
Mollie wanted to believe that they’d be alright. Her heart desperately wished for it but her mind, teeming with everything she learnt in her pursuit within the medical field, was more grounded.
(At the altitude they were at, the atmosphere was thinner. They’d be buffeted by strong winds that stole warmth and air in their lungs, losing orientation if they spiraled out of control. It would be difficult for Charizard to spread its wings, and even if it did, the drag it’d create could further separate Charizard from Friede. Of course, this was under the assumption that they remained conscious instead of blacking out from the lack of oxygen).
She let her arm drop to her sides, then raised a hand to pinch the bridge of her nose. Mollie really didn’t want to continue that gloomy line of thought. In all honesty, she didn’t want to process these feelings that bubbled beneath the surface. It reminded her all too much of her past naivety, where she’d find herself in all kinds of embarrassing and shameful situations because of Sohdayo’s tall tales.
(She recalled the times where Friede would step in, telling Sohdayo off for messing with her too much. All the discussions they had over time about the crew’s health and safety because both put it in high regard. The nights where she’d scold Friede while patching him up after he acted too recklessly, though understanding that it was just a part of his character. That Friede would put others safety above his own, and today was simply a tragic reminder of that trait).
“You’re such an idiot,” Mollie mumbled, swallowing through a lump in her throat. “I told you that you’re going to get killed one of these days. Why did you have to prove me right?”
-----
Today simply felt unreal to Orla.
That moment seared itself into her memories and would likely forever haunt her dreams.
She dashed towards the exit, barely able to push open the door from the strong winds buffeting it. She saw the kids gripping onto the railings and–Friede, clinging onto Charizard that barely held on with his claws. Fear sprouted in the pit of her stomach.
“What are you doing!? Hurry up!” she yelled, trying her best to inch ever closer without getting blown off herself.
Orla saw Friede pick up Cap, uttering something that she wasn’t able to catch. He did his best to hand Cap over to Liko, before offering them an assuring smile.
It seemingly stretched for an eternity and also happened in an instant. For a moment, she just couldn’t believe it. Unable to fathom how within a split second, he was… gone.
The howling winds drowned out her scream but she heard it ringing in her ears, felt how visceral it was as it ripped out of her throat. Her heart seemed to swell into a mallet and swung violently against her rib cage, as if trying to shatter it to pieces.
It might as well be, seeing as she likely witnessed the final moments of Friede’s life.
After that everything was a blur. Regardless of how she felt, she still needed to ensure the kids’ safety. Orla vaguely remembered ushering them inside to where Mollie was, then returned back to the engine room. Until they made a rough but successful landing, she threw herself into the metaphorical fire, pretending that it was sweat that made her cheeks wet.
Now, sitting on the captain’s chair in the middle of a peaceful night, Orla felt numb. Vaguely she knew that she should wash up, change into clean clothes and grab something to eat.
Orla didn't want to do any of that. All she could think about was that last moment, seeing his smile even in the face of certain doom.
Of course he'd do that. Orla knew him pretty much her entire life. He'd always been the sort to put on a brave face, hiding how he really felt if it meant convincing others that everything was fine.
She recalled all the times in their childhood where Friede would step in to protect her, sniffling and wiping his face while she patched him up but always sporting that stupid smile.
Even time didn't change that part of him. When he came to find her all those years later with an impossible request, somehow Orla believed she could do it when he flashed her that smile.
She buried her face atop drawn up knees, arms wrapped around her legs. The pressure built behind her eyes and yet, she couldn't cry. Every fiber of her being wanted a release from this anguish rolling through her body but it felt like there was a mental block, the numbness preventing her from getting that desperate release.
Orla squeezed her eyes shut. Bit her bottom lip. Felt her shoulders shake from the physical want to cry but frustratingly, she just can't.
“Pika?”
Her head snapped up at the faint sound. She looked over her shoulder to find Cap, devoid of his hat but carrying with him…
“Oh, Cap,” she whispered in a watery tone. Orla got off the chair as Cap dashed towards her, and she scooped up the little Pikachu in her arms. She soon sank to the floor onto her knees, curling around Cap that tucked himself into a small ball, his paws wrapped tightly around Friede's cracked goggles.
Together, the pair mourned the loss of their leader, best friend, partner.
-----
No one wanted to be alone tonight.
At first it was just Liko, laying on her bed whilst staring at the ceiling, physically and mentally exhausted but unable to fall asleep. Meowscarada and Hattrem were fast asleep at the end of her bed–it was more cramped now with her starter’s new size but Liko wouldn’t dare have her sleep in her Pokeball.
Pagogo remained deeply asleep in its Pokeball, so still at first that Liko initially feared the worst until she saw its soft breaths. She disliked how out of sorts she felt, frustration and grief clawing at one another in her chest that she had to take deep breaths to keep a semblance of calm.
Then it was Roy, who knocked on her door and she opened to find him standing there with a haunted look in his eyes, arms carrying his pillows and blanket. No words needed to be exchanged as Liko stepped aside for her friend to quietly enter.
Liko carefully grab her pillows from her bed, then pulled out a spare blanket from her closet so she wouldn’t disturb her slumbering Pokemon. Together, they worked in tandem to form a soft spot on the ground to lay on, where they can feel one another’s warmth and presence. An assurance that, at the very least, they were alright.
Before they could discuss about calling Dot over, they heard a hesitant knock on the door. Liko opened went to open it and find Dot standing outside, sporting a surprised look like she didn’t expect Liko to answer. In her arms was a pillow and blanket, and if Liko squinted, she could spot Quaxwell standing to the side at the end of the hallway, leaving after it was seemingly satisfied that Dot won’t be alone now.
Liko didn’t really give Dot a chance to speak. She simply grabbed hold of her wrist and ushered her inside. Roy and Dot shared a quick look before he readjusted the pillows to make room for Dot’s.
Soon, all three kids were laying on Liko’s floor, blankets covering their legs while their tired eyes stared at the ceiling. For a long while, no one really said anything. Liko would have believed her friends had fallen asleep when Roy spoke up.
“Do you think he’s fine?” Liko can’t recall if she ever heard Roy sound so… small and defeated. Her heart clenched painfully as she swallowed, blinking through the sudden burn in her eyes.
“I don’t know,” she replied thickly. Liko didn’t really want to think about it because if she did, she would have to acknowledge the fact that Friede might be well and truly gone.
“It’s…” Liko heard Dot speaking up, pause and then swallow as she tried to find what to say. “...we can hope.” Dot decided at the end.
“Yeah. Hope,” Roy mumbled. That was really the only thing they could do in this moment.
They fell silent once more. Liko was mildly surprised to find a hand gripping hers, only to realize that it was Dot. She was quick to squeeze Dot’s cold hand, gently thumbing the back while Dot took a few deep breaths.
“I… I’m glad that you’re alright Liko. That we’re alright,” Dot began hesitantly. “I was… scared that you’d get blown off too.”
Right, Dot had been the one to grip her tightly while she reached out to grab Cap.
“Oh Dot, I’m glad too. I’m so glad that you two are safe. I can’t–I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to either of you,” Liko replied in a watery tone.
Wordlessly, she felt Roy pull her into a half hug, her head resting atop his chest. Dot let go of her hand to shift closer, tucking against his side so she can throw an arm across Roy’s chest to reach her. Roy, in the middle of this cuddle sandwich, released a quiet breath.
“We’re… we’re going to be alright,” Roy spoke, attempting to inject some confidence into his voice. “He… he’d want us to be fine. Didn’t he say that we should think and act for ourselves?”
“Yeah, he did,” Dot mumbled.
To think that only happened earlier today. Liko wondered if, for one reason or another, Friede knew in advance that he needed to impart that piece of advice to them.
“So I think we should do what we can to… to be alright,” Roy trailed off a little awkwardly at the end. Liko felt that he wanted to say something else but chose otherwise.
She won’t push Roy, though. Liko too agreed with what was said. They should do what they can to be alright. She didn’t think it was possible but, if not for her own sake but for her friends, she needed to at least try.
“Yeah,” Liko replied, with Dot parroting it moments later.
Once again they fell silent, but this time it felt less thoughtful and more so that the exhaustion was finally catching up on them. Liko thought that this time, she could fall asleep, knowing that she wouldn’t be alone by the time she woke up.
“Hey Roy, Dot?” Liko whispered, her eyes slowly closing as the call for sleep became too much. “Thank you for being my friends and going on this adventure with me.”
Liko didn’t quite catch their replies but she believed that they too shared the same sentiments. She might be facing an uncertain future but, in this present time as night slowly inched towards a new day, she’d wake up to a mess of tangled limbs and the certainty that Roy and Dot were by her side.

Last night, despite getting done with a week-long subbing stint at work and finally arriving at that sweet SWEET weekend... I lost my drawing drive. X3
So, I decided to play some Pokemon.
And I went on a Lati spree.
I brought up that Jamie knows a Latias and Latios on her blog. I've had the LatiAs in question for a few years now, but as far as the LatiOs... I had nothing to work with. XD
So, I started an Omega Ruby (accidentally started Alpha Sapphire first, thankfully realized my mistake early on) and binge played to the point that I could get the boi~
And now that I have him... I thought I'd dive into their characters and some small Lati lore!
And my current idea for how I'd draw them~
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Playingaroundwiththeirnameshehe~
Tumblr media
Mention of death and injury ahead, but nothing graphic.
Areth and Thusa are siblings--Older sister and younger brother. I'm leaning toward having Latis be laid in twin pairs. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, these two both lost their respective twins, and they come from separate clutches.
Their parents were also lost when Thusa was young, so Areth took up the role of raising her little brother.
One day, Areth was attacked and badly wounded by Sharpedos, so her devoted little brother went to find help. That help was in the form of Jamie's eventual sister-in-law, Rose, who was in the midst of her own trainer journey through Hoenn. Rose took Areth to the Pokemon Center and provided comfort for Thusa as she recovered. Although wary of her, Areth came to trust the human and became a loyal member of her team. Thusa himself never battled, but tagged along and had a jolly old time~
In Scarlet, Areth is a good sight larger than normal, while Thusa is a little bit smaller. I was kinda hoping he'd be smaller than that, but I adore the dynamic I have going with these two! ^w^

Would You Still
“Ash?” Latias asked.
Ash paused, halfway through rubbing the damp cloth down her side to get off some of the scorch marks.
“What is it?” he asked.
“You… do still like me, right?” she said, sounding worried.
Ash blinked a couple of times.
“Why wouldn’t I like you?” he asked.
“Because-” Latias began, then winced. “Because… that was such an important battle for you, and… it didn’t work out?”
Ash exchanged a glance with Pikachu.
“Ka-chuu, pika-ikachu,” Pikachu opined. “Chu, Pikapi pika chuu!”
“Latias… I guess-” Ash began, then stopped and sighed.
“I’m going to put this in a really bad way,” he groaned. “But… uh… so, first, yeah, losing a battle sucks, and losing at the Pokémon League really sucks. Because so many people are looking at us.”
Latias looked crestfallen, and Ash dipped the cloth in water before getting to work again.
“But that happens,” he said. “I know it sucks, but I also know – it happens. Harrison and his team pulled out all those surprises, to try and stop us, right?”
“Chuu,” Pikachu muttered, rubbing his side.
“Yeah,” Ash agreed. “Some Pokémon I’ve never even seen before – some really cool Pokémon, at that! And – yeah, he stopped us, but he had to do all of that, right? And then that Jon guy who’s been doing so well is up against him next, and… oh, right, you might not have noticed?”
“Noticed what?” Latias asked.
Pikachu giggled.
“Yeah, I keep forgetting you’re not experienced,” Ash said. “It’s just one of those things that… makes sense, to me, and to Brock and Misty too… Jon is going to be ready for all those tricks that Harrison has, because Harrison had to use them all on us to stop us.”
Latias frowned, then made a thoughtful noise.
“Right!” Ash said, nodding, as he finished up with her right flank and moved on to her wing. “So – I don’t know if Harrison’s got other tricks left, but he brought back some Pokémon from Hoenn with really neat abilities that were a huge surprise! I don’t know if that Jon guy is going to win or lose, but… he’s going to have it easier, and Harrison is going to have it harder, because Harrison decided he needed to use all those tricks against us. Right?”
“I… think so?” Latias frowned.
“It means that – no, there’s nothing to be ashamed of!” Ash explained. “And I guess… maybe that’s easier for me to explain to someone else than to remember myself, hehe… but, don’t worry, Latias. You did really well. You’re new to battling, and I’m glad you chose to come along with me as my Pokémon, and… you’re brave.”
Latias tilted her head, shifting her weight a little as she lay on the floor, and Ash nodded.
“You are,” he said. “Because… like I say, you’re new to battling, and you didn’t have much training, or much experience, and you went for it anyway, and you kept fighting for so long to try and pull it out for me. And… I guess… getting better at battling, getting stronger, getting more experience, learning more moves… all of those are things we can work on. And you’re already brave, which is… great, it really is.”
He washed the cloth again, then looked at the water. “Uh. In fact, you’ve got so many scorch marks from Blaziken’s Blaze Kicks that I guess I need more water, this one’s turned black…”
Latias giggled, and Ash grinned.
“So – don’t worry, Latias!” he reassured her, getting up. “Because… yeah. We lost. And now I’m going to get better at being a Pokémon trainer, so we’ll all be ready next time and we’ll do even better!”
“Ka-pikapi, kachu!” Pikachu pointed out, holding up both paws and showing a total of four fingers, folding them in, then another four.
“...oh, yeah, and I guess that’s easy to forget, too,” Ash admitted. “Which is that – yeah, not many people make it to the quarter finals. Not many people even make it to the Pokémon League. And we were battling in the quarter finals, and – you fit right in, Latias. You should be proud of that.”
Pikachu nodded. “Chuu!”
Ash was about to go and get some more water, but Latias picked herself up off the floor and gave him a spontaneous hug.
“Thank you, Ash,” she said. “I… I feel a lot better now.”
“Heheh, I’m glad to help!” Ash replied, grinning. “Though I really do need to go and get some more water to finish cleaning off those scorch marks…”
“Chuu, ka-chu?” Pikachu asked.
“...actually, why aren’t we just going to a Pokémon Centre?” Latias asked.
Ash shrugged. “I guess… I wanted to make sure you didn’t feel uncomfortable?” he said. “I know it’s the first time you’ve been knocked out, and normally for my Pokémon that happens where Brock or Tracey can take care of them, not at a Pokémon Centre…”

Zircon Info Post!!!
aka: Hey, what's with that Latios you keep drawing Steven with?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if you've seen this blog in this past couple months it's highly likely you've seen art of this guy, a Latios named Zircon who i often draw with Steven Stone, but I realize that not everyone coming across my blog may know what his deal is, and so i've decided to put together a post explaining his lore as of March 8th 2025!
Tumblr media
Zircon is one half of the Lati duo encountered by the player in ORAS, with my verse taking inspiration from Alpha Sapphire in that Team Aqua tried to capture his sister April and he reached out to Steven and May for help rescuing her. Much like in the plot of the game his sister ends up joining May's team and he kinda goes off to do his own thing for a little while.
He doesn't end up joining Steven's team until after the events of the delta episode, when Steven has started to question himself and is wanting to step down from champion to do some soul searching. It's around this same time Zircon starts to feel lonely without his sister around all the time, and doesn't know what to do with himself either, and he decides to search out that kind man who helped him out, and he asks Steven to let him travel with him as thanks. Steven is, very caught off guard by the offer, but in the end agrees.
(pssst i wrote a fic about this interaction)
Steven and Zircon's story in my head primarily follows the two of them traveling across different regions, and having a bit of a pokémon journey alongside Steven's other pokemon, and the hijinks that come from the ex champion of Hoenn suddenly having a legendary pokemon on him out of nowhere. The two eventually develop a very close bond and Zircon is basically a part of the family by the end of everything.
If you have any questions or curiosity please don't be afraid to ask!!! i love info dumping about this guy! He's a very dear and special oc to me right now! I thought it was wild i had never seen anyone expand on the fact Steven was associated two separate Lati side quests and so i decided to play with the idea myself.

Well, I did it for the women, might as well do a list for the guys too. Here's the hottest guys in every Pokémon region (according to a straight cishet male).
Kanto - Koga
Tumblr media
I feel like this doesn't need a lot of explanation; he's cool, competent, and a literal daddy. What more could you want?
Johto - Falkner
Tumblr media
Look, blue is my favorite color okay? I know color pallet is a shallow reason but there wasn't exactly stiff competition for this region.
Hoenn - Of Course It's Fucking Steven
Tumblr media
Who did you think I was going to put here, fucking Wallace? I don't think so!
Sinnoh - Looker
Tumblr media
Cop in a trench coat apparently does it for me. Honestly I'm as surprised as you are.
Unova - Colress
Tumblr media
Forget N and his bag of issues, give me hot scientist who turns on his boss just to be petty and then walks away like a badass. Kudos to you good sir!
Kalos - Sycamore
Tumblr media
This was honestly a hard decision . . . Until I remembered regional professors are free game for this list. That or I just have a thing for coats. Either or.
Alola - Guzma
Tumblr media
Obvious pick is obvious but there's a reason he's the obvious pick damn it! Also has he always had those tattoos on his arms? I never noticed until now.
Galar - Avery
Tumblr media
This might be cheating a bit considering I thought Avery was a cute girl when I saw him the first time. Oh well, it's my list I do what I want.
Hisui - Adaman
Tumblr media
Is anyone surprised by this considering why I picked Falkner? I mean, blue color pallet and a coat? Fucking propose to me now damn it!
Paldea - Larry
Tumblr media
Don't lie, he's your pick too. I just want to bundle this man in a soft blanket, give him some cocoa, sit him down in a comfy recliner and then stick him in front of a box fan because fuck fireplaces. Feeling the cool breeze of a fan while bundled up is the shit.

Isn’t Dawn/Akaris mom a coordinator or does take part in Pokemon Contests? Nimbasa has musicals but I can also see that they have the regular contests as well.
I can see that her influence there could also help connecting the dots and help the narrative.
While she isn’t taking part too much but maybe is called in as a judge she maybe has seen the Missing Posters (if you’re in a similar situation you’re more likely to notice these, she probably also notices that it’s the same guy who helped them years ago) and later on after the reunion with her daughter and once Ingo gets a bit of a needed clean up Johanna recognizes him and eventually connects the dots and the rest will come automatically.
Yes she is! In Let’s Get You Back to Her, it’s the reason why Johanna and Dawn/Akari are at Gear Station — Akari’s traveling with her mom to do one of her coordinator shows! I imagined the musicals were part of the coordinator career!
BUT OH MY GOSH THATS SUCH A GOOD CONNECTION. I’ve been debating if at this time, Johanna continued to do coordination shows or if she’s since stopped, but the idea of her still going to events like Nimbasa’s to be a judge is REALLY GOOD.
THATS A GREAT IDEA ANON. It keeps the whole thing fresh in her mind and gives her another fresh visualization of him too, compared to the one time she saw him literally a decade before in LGYBTH.
I feel like at first Johanna would be very hesitant to even leave Sinnoh though, or go too far, just in case something about her daughter comes up. Hmm, maybe eventually towards the year mark, she feels like she should get out of the house and try to do things again, and accepts the judge invitation after turning it down a few times.
BUT ANYWAYS I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA ANON THIS IS REALLY GOOD!! Thank you for sharing this with me!!
Also below I go off on a tangent sort of related to this haha. But I talk about how important Johanna’s career as a coordinator was in influencing my Akari/Dawn’s career in Pokemon coordination, as well as battling, and why she is not one of Sinnoh’s Champions because of it.
—————
I don’t think I’ve ever properly explained this, but in my works, the timeline is one where Dawn/Akari is not the Champion (that is Lucas), but she isn’t the professor’s assistant either — just a trainer, who spent a lot of time as a kid traveling around with her mom for her coordinator shows.
I have never really talked about Akari’s pokemon team before Hisui, I realize. Technically her starter is Lady, Johanna’s glameow (now a Purugly). And among three other sinnoh pokemon — a Lumineon, Bronzong, and Rotom — she has a Gorebyss (a clamperl when she caught it) and a Beartic (a cubchoo when she caught it).
A hoenn pokemon, and a unova pokemon — Pokemon caught from regions that she visited, because these regions have shows/contests/musicals that Johanna went to.
In her timeline before Hisui, Akari was not a champion because when she was old enough to begin her journey, she thought she wanted to do coordinating like her mom. A couple years later though, she realized she wanted to try out taking battling a little more seriously, and then Arceus took her to Hisui after she just started that.
This is why I don’t really write her with Champion-level knowledge or techniques in Hisui, even though she’s fifteen and technically should have had five years of experience by now. She messes up and makes mistakes, but she is strong and knows Pokemon well. She has the potential to be a Champion if given more time, but she just started very late.

So we finally got a proper Legends: Z-A trailer
Saw a few other people posting their thoughts, so I figured I might as well join in because I do have a lot to say and not too many people to say it to. So here's what's going through my head looking through the trailer and website.
Long post ahead.
I was right. I told y'all and I was right and I am going to be smug about it because I said so. Present. Freaking. Day. I said the clothes in the reveal trailer proved it wasn't set in the past and I. Was. Right. Could still be time travel involved I suppose, but the majority of the game is set in the present and I am vindicated.
I wonder if the train station we arrive in, or I guess I'm just assuming this is a train station, is the same one that takes you to Kiloude in XY. Still want to know what "the usual place" is and if it has anything to do with the ghost girl.
Tumblr media
The male protagonist kinda looks like Professor Sycamore to me. I wonder if we're gonna be a nepo baby in this game.
No gym logo on Prism Tower anymore. Which could mean anything really.
Actually a little disappointed about the "wild zones," I'd have preferred to see the Pokémon just out and about wherever. I think they may still be? But just mostly confined to these places. Bit of a bummer, not that bad.
Tumblr media
The starter trio is...weird. I am disappointed to see that neither Snivy nor Piplup are part of it, feels like that was done on purpose just to subvert expectations. But subverted expectations don't guarantee the surprise is better, y'know? But yeah, Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. I mean I don't dislike any of them, I'm happy to see them getting some love, they desperately need it. But having two of them be from Johto is really strange. Kanto and Hoenn probably weren't options because their starters already have Megas, but that still left Sinnoh, Alola, and Galar to pick from. So here's hoping they've just got something really good cooked up for both Meganium and Feraligatr that they just couldn't wait to show off. I'm really not sure if this game will follow in the footsteps of the previous Legends game and give us regional forms for these guys, or if they'll just get Megas instead. Both is possible, but unlikely, while just Megas feel like the most likely. Which kinda sucks because I like regional forms and would like to see more, but Kalos is the Mega region, sooo... I mean they could give these guys regional variants and then give us Megas for the Kalos starters and have us get one of them a la how we got a Mega Kanto starter in XY, but that's pure speculation. Anyway, these guys are neat, if a little odd. I like 'em fine. Also first time getting two quadrupeds in one starter trio so that's cool. Yeah Tepig's gonna stand up but it's still a first for the base forms.
Looks like the catching system works the same as it did in Arceus, which suits me just fine, because I had a lot of fun with that.
Ooh, we can go on rooftops. I notice, though, that there's no sign of catacombs yet. Still holding on to that little hope. Come on Game Freak, it's a whole game set in Poké-Paris, there have to be catacombs.
Rival picks the starter weak to yours. Lame.
Tumblr media
Okay, so real time battles. That is...very interesting. I doubt this will become a series staple, at least in the mainline games. The turn-based Pokémon metagame is far too deep, intricate, and honestly well-crafted for them to just throw it out, but it is a neat idea for a pseudo side game like this. The faster pace will make the battles less methodical, less about taking your time and coming up with strategy and more about thinking on your feet, which could be a neat challenge. And I'm looking forward to seeing how certain moves' mechanics change in relation to this new system. The above screenshot, for example, shows a Lucario using Protect, which is normally not a very good move for playthroughs as it doesn't do much in most single battles other than waste a turn, but now in this game it will be invaluable. Being able to completely block an enemy attack without worrying about dodging and repositioning is incredible. It looks like each move is on a cooldown timer too, so you can't just hammer away with the same move over and over again. Guess that keeps the battles more dynamic. Also I wonder if this means they'll do away with PP. More powerful moves may just take longer to recharge. Hmm. There's a lot more I could say here, but I don't want this post to go on forever. Still this is neat, especially since I've been musing a lot lately on the differences between battles in the games vs how they're depicted in the anime and such.
I see the player character still has a dodge roll, so I assume the Pokémon can still kill us? Hope so, that was a big part of the fun last time.
Tumblr media
So Mega Pokémon are all permanently iridescent now? I...actually don't mind that, it looks kinda nice. Sorta reminds me of the Terastallization crystallized effect. Pretty. Also I like the new bronze-coloured Mega Ring. Also pretty.
So the CEO is evil, right? That's kinda the way these things work in Pokémon. Of course it could be a double bluff and she's actually chill because they know we're expecting that trope by now, but we'll see. The big manly man secretary with the Pancham and Buneary hair ornaments in his man bun is cute though.
Tumblr media
They put AZ in a SUIT?? Man looks clean! Like he even washed his hair! And he's smiling! He recovered and he's actually happy! Oh you love to see it. Still though, my guy, I get that you're three meters tall, but you live in Poké-Paris. You could have found a tailor. So I guess the stitched together clothes are a fashion statement.
Also we are so getting that Floette.
I never noticed that Zygarde 10% has a butthole before. A hexagonal one at that.
Looks like some parts of the city are still under construction. There's scaffolding up. That's cool, adds more of a 3D element to the environment. I do like climbing things.
Also, speaking of the city, it's split into five sections, and now they're all colour-coded. Which is kinda funny looking, but I mean I'm here for it. The colours match the plazas Lumiose had in XY that were named after colours...almost. The red section is where Magenta Plaza should be, and the section where Rouge Plaza should be is a very pale pink. So did they change the order, or are these colours someone's very mixed up idea of what magenta and red look like?
Okay so the rival is the protagonist you didn't pick with a palette swap and wardrobe change. That's cool, it's been a while since we've seen that. I mean I guess Arceus did it, but that was to match DP having Lucas and Dawn appear in game. The last time it happened with totally new characters was...XY. Huh. And of course changing their look is totally new. The names are a little goofy though. Urbain and Taunie. Sometimes Pokémon can be subtle with the protagonists' and rivals' names, but Urban and Townie here are not an example of that.
Speaking of, no names for the protags yet, but they are totally new designs, not makeovers of Calem and Serena, at least not obviously. I wonder if they'll be referenced at all. I highly doubt either will actually appear, but some mention of "the hero who stopped Team Flare x years ago" would be pretty standard Pokémon fare.
It is interesting how things in the wild zones seem to have just been left as they are. Like they weren't cleared out or turned into parks, there are cars left crooked on the side of the road and tables and chairs abandoned where they sat. I wonder if that's going to be a point of tension in the plot, people opposing the redevelopment plan because they were forced out of their homes. Seems unlikely for Pokémon to get into anything like that too deeply, but they may touch on it. Why do they look like that?
Tumblr media
Sooo that's a Chikorita that knows Disarming Voice, which it cannot learn by any means in the mainline games. I smell a Grass/Fairy Meganium form in our future. Mega or regional, whichever. Tepig is shown using Rollout and Totodile is shown to know Bite, but both of them learn those moves normally, so that's no guarantee of Rock or Dark types for them. Fairy moves are new for Chikorita though, very very new.
Either that is the world's tiniest Onix, or Pokémon won't be properly scaled in this game. Again :/ Come on guys, you made it work last time. Yeah, visible size variation has been a thing in the last couple games, so maybe there's hope, but that itty bitty Onix sucks to see.
Tumblr media
Okay hold up. Bottom right corner. It looks like Mega Evolution is on a timer. Don't tell me it just ends after that runs out. Oh I don't like that. Not at all. The whole point of Mega Evolution is that it's once per battle but it lasts the entire battle. That better not mean it only lasts until that timer runs out, that just makes it reskinned Dynamax. But I don't know what else that could mean. Ugh. Not a fan of that, no sir.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LOOKER BUREAU SPOTTED!!! Oh please tell me we get to check in on Emma. I would love that.
Tumblr media
Okay, so this is the last thing shown in the trailer. A logo showing what looks to be the Prism Tower with a Poké Ball atop it, just after the text, "PROMOTION MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT." So what I would assume that means is that there are some kind of promotional battles, maybe a tournament, being held in Prism Tower? Possibly to fund the redevelopment project? I expect they'll use this to have a bunch of old characters show up with updated designs, which I love, so consider me stoked.

Pokeshipping Week 2024
Prompt 7: Celebrating
Ash was avoiding her.
He had been the one to invite her. Hell, he had paid for her plane ticket! And yet here Misty was, all dressed up, sitting by her lonesome, no Ash or Pikachu in sight.
Okay, maybe she wasn’t alone, alone. Ash’s old local friends from the Pokemon School were all there as well, milling around, dancing, snacking on hors d'oeuvres and sipping on champagne. Lana had insisted she join them at their table, and she had even danced with Kiawe and Mallow for a while after dinner.
The professors and Lei were also there, it had been Lei’s first Manalo Conference appearance, and even though he lost in the first round of the single battles, his parents were so proud, they had been showing him off to everyone all night, much to the kid’s embarrassment.
But yet no Champion in sight.
She knew he was there. She’d seen him bee-bopping around the banquet hall throughout the night, just not anywhere near her, apparently.
She didn’t think he was upset at her or anything. He’d grinned and waved at her after his battle with Hau, who had won the League this year. Their battle had been close, but Ash managed to win it and keep his title for the tenth year in a row. A decade of being the Alola Champion. The whole reason this party was happening at all.
He had been rushed off to talk with the press, so she went back to her hotel to get ready, naively assuming Ash had any interest in spending some time with her during the celebration after insisting she be there.
She was just polishing off her third flute of champagne when a yellow flash out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She perked up for a moment and scanned the room to try to catch it again, when a soft, familiar whisper filled her ear.
“Meet me outside in five?” Ash asked, sending an embarrassing little shiver up her spine, but by the time she spun around to face him, he had made his way back into the crowd.
~*~
Ash’s back was to her as he casually leaned against the balcony railing, backdropped by the twinkling, tropical, Alola night sky, Pikachu mysteriously missing. Someone had apparently convinced him to put on some nice clothes and forced a comb through his messy hair earlier in the evening, but he had managed to scruff himself back up since then, probably doing something stupid and noble and Ash-like.
He was beautiful.
“I’m not avoiding you,” he told her without turning around.
Misty raised a skeptical eyebrow. “Oh yeah? Could’ve fooled me.”
He turned around finally at that and gave her a crooked little smile. “I’m glad you’re here, Mist.”
Her heart did that stupid thing it always did when he called her that damn nickname, but she joined him at the railing and looked out into the ocean. “You gave me no choice, Ash,” she reminded him. He chuckled at that, but it sounded hollow. “You okay?” she asked. He shrugged.
“Yeah. I mean, I think so. It’s just been a weird day.” He sighed. “I thought this was going to be it,” he admitted, quietly.
Misty blinked in surprise. “It? What do you mean? Like, your last year as Champion?”
Ash nodded, a wry smile on his lips. “Hau did amazing, but Gladion almost had me last year. If he wasn’t challenging the Hoenn League right now, I think he would have taken me out once and for all.”
She studied his profile, looking for a sign in his expression to figure out how he felt about that, but he was intentionally, very carefully neutral.
At her silence, he sighed heavily again. “I love Alola. You know I do. This place is my home away from home. But it’s, you know, still not home like Kanto is home.” He paused for a moment, and ran his hand through his hair before turning to face her again and smirking. “I know Lance is planning to separate the Kanto and Johto Leagues, finally. There will be a whole new batch of Elite 4 positions opening up, and from what I’ve heard, you’re on the short list for one of them.”
“How did you hear about that?” Misty balked. “Lance said that information hasn’t left the Indigo League yet!”
“I have my ways,” Ash said with a grin, and Misty rolled her eyes. Lance was such a blabbermouth. “Lance is going to stick with Johto. You’ll need a new Kanto Champion, too.”
Misty perked up at that, realizing what Ash was getting at with a traitorous little flicker of hope in her stomach. “You want to compete to be the Kanto Champion?”
Ash shrugged a little shyly. “I mean, that had kinda been the idea. I’m not sure I have it in me to be Champion of both Kanto and Alola though. I’m not as young as I used to be.”
“Ash, you’re twenty-two,” Misty reminded him with a snort.
“Exactly! ” he laughed, but his expression quickly turned just a bit somber. “I guess I was just ready to, you know, have an excuse to spend more time at home… Around my favorite people.”
It was hard to tell in the dark, but she was pretty sure he was blushing. She tried not to think too much about that. “Favorite people, huh?” she prompted, bumping into his shoulder.
He smirked. “Yeah. My mom, Brock Tracy… Gary.” He drawled, and she bit back her smile to glare at him, unimpressed, until he finally cracked with a long, loud laugh. “And you, of course!”
“That’s what I thought,” she said haughtily, and after a beat, they both broke into giddy laughter. Once they finally settled down, Misty sighed, and summoning up her courage, she leaned over to rest her head on his shoulder, feeling him tense up at the motion. She forced herself not to think too much about that, either. “It’ll take Lance a while to get everything sorted out, you know. It might not be until next year.”
She felt him hum in acknowledgment more than she heard it, her heart speeding up as she felt his arm drape around her shoulders, and his head gently falling into a rest against her’s.
“Yeah,” he agreed, his voice just barely above a whisper. “I’ve already waited this long. What’s one more year?”

Legends Z-A was announced less than an hour ago and I’m still buzzing. My biggest question right now is the STARTERS.
Tumblr media
Given that Legends Arceus had starters plucked from other regions, I feel the new game will do the same. The Kalos Starters will not be the starters of Legends Z-A if they’re following format. And I feel it’s safe to assume they won’t double up on regions cutting out Johto, Unova, and Alola.
Tumblr media
One factor I’m leaning on heavily is that Mega Pokémon are implied to be returning. Which begs the question: Will the starters of Legends Z-A have regional variant forms, or mega forms?
If we’re getting starters that get megas, I can only assume we’ll be getting a Kanto and Hoenn starter, and one other random starter that will be getting a mega. Personally I feel it’s too soon for them to put a Paldean starter into a new game. Galar is a maybe, but all of their starters have G-Max forms (not that that matters, all the Kanto Starters have Megas and G-Max forms..). Leaving Sinnoh.
But this is all speculation and I could be entirely wrong. Starters may just be Pokémon that fit thematically with Kalos, so starters with origins that work could also fit right in.
This is all fun early announcement speculation. And I look forward to seeing where these games go! I’d love to hear other peoples takes and thoughts too! :)

StS x Pokemon AU brainstorming stuff
Now I'll have to publicly share some flow of thoughts rambles, I've been accumulating for an year now.
Bless @ectogusher for listening to my rambles, and @doodlingwren for busting my door open to finally share what I got.
Excuse me as I talk in my notes as if these things were like a guide/romhack shit
All under read more bc it gets long c:
Here's the main skeleton of this whole deal-
Sanctuary = Its own region. No new fakemons, but it's a sizeable piece of land that has gathered up a wide variety of various species found across the globe. This worldwide thing also influences the type of trainers and people from all over the world going there. If we were to touch on the subject of game mechanics: There would be most of them (Mega evolutions, terastalise, Dynamax even Paradox pokemon forms) further showing how mysterious and mythical this region is.
PC - Seiya / Shoko Rivals - Seiya -> The other bronze boys / Shoko ->The other saintias
With Ikki being the Silver-esque type of rival, meanwhile Shiryu/Hyoga/Shun all follow the same line of friendly rival archetype. I still haven't thought that far on the Shoko route.
Other prominent NPCs:
Professor Shion: Former gym leader, he was once offered the champion title but refused it. Claiming that his passion was in research and studies, rather than the battlefield. Due to stepping down from battles, his friendship/relationship with Dohko has strained over time. Shion is the one who brought Mu to Sanctuary down the line.
Schoolkid Kiki: Catching Tutorial NPC. He can be usually found at the Pokemon School in Mu's city. He will inherit Mu's mantle down the line. The pokemon he uses in the tutorial is a Noibat;
League Chairwoman Saori Kido - With Julien Solo and Hades coming in as other seemingly "investors" on the project
Gym leaders: Most of these guys' aces aren't fully evolved, bc they chose to keep them like that. Yadda yadda friendship boosting their favorites.
Mu: Sinnoh - Dragon - Dragonair
Aldebaran: Hoenn - Ground - Rhydon
Saga/Kanon: Alola - Water - Gyarados (Saga)/Kingdra (Kanon)
Deathmask: Kalos - Dark - Murkrow
Aiolia: Sanctuary (native) - Electric - Electabuzz
Shaka: Kanto - Psychic - Alakazam
Dohko: Johto - Fighting - Mienshao
Milo: Unova - Bug - Volcarona
Elite fours:
Aiolos: Sanctuary - Fire - Charizard
Shura: Galar - Steel - Metagross
Camus: Sinnoh - Ice - ? (Either Froslass or Glaceon)
Aphrodite: Paldea - Poison - Roserade
Champion - ??? (the plot twist is that: the PC wouldn't fight the 3rd gym leader, bc Saga was pretending to be the champion. When he really wasn't chosen or appointed to that position)
Evil organisations: They definetely do exist, and they are obviously tied to the aforementioned Julien and Hades figures. But I still haven't thought that far.
Worldbuilding notes:
Muvians are similar to draconids (introduced in ORAS), a small tribe that originates from Sinnoh and has some deep connections and bonds to dragon types. Which means, any muvian = dragon type specialist or in the very least owns one. Muvians are also meant to have a foot in aura sensitivity (see characters like Lucario, Riley, etc.);
Sanctuary's League has a rampant corruption problem, as seen by what I mentioned about Saga. The two evil organisations are basically being pitched against one another, as smokescreen for the real problem. Their current champ is this sort of "elusive" figure. There hasn't been a proper champion in a long time. And yet, according to paperwork and the system, it states that the role is currently filled by someone. Anyone that isn't tied to Saga's schemes is left in the shadows, even those that allegedly should be the closest to him (Aiolos for SURE has no clue of what's going on. He's probably hiding or declared missing in action during the events, and only shows up when the time comes to challenge the E4).
There's a small timeline:
ND folks (a good few years into the past) -> Classic folks -> Omega folks (+20 years into the future)
In ND's setting we see how odd and hapharzadly the League was instated in the region. Which sets up the perfect grounds for Saga to exploit down the line;
Shion and Dohko are recently turned gym leader here. Mu comes onto the picture a good few years after ND's events; In a way, since Tenma would be the PC here and Alone his rival. It could be the Red vs Blue type of ordeal.
In Omega we'd see how the League is trying to remedy its reputation & amend for Saga's schemes, with an entirely new set of gym leaders and League members. + Former league members can still be found and fought in the post game, Silver/Gold style.
Individual notes:
Mu - Obligatory pokemon Aldemu food
Mu used to own a Gible and Alde once owned a Trapinch, at some point they traded pokemon. So now, Alde has a Garchomp in his personal team and Mu has a Flygon;
Mu's battle team against young trainers has a Swablu, which is used as a messenger to carry mail exchanges between him and Alde;
Mu LOVES pokemon dolls and has a huge collection of it. In the post-game: PC can find Mu and Alde on a date at the region's big mall, with them looking at a shop's display window. Mu gets mad at PC for ruining his date, but would give out his pokegear number;
Aldebaran -
Aldebaran gym's city is also where the pokemon day-care can be found. He may not run it, but he often helps out the elderly couple currently in charge of it;
In the post-game: After adding Mu's re-match call number. Alde can ba found on the route between his and Mu's towns, he was on his way to take a meal for him, and he also shares with PC that they bought the doll in the end
Saga/Kanon -
PC doesn't really get to fight for the 3rd gym badge. Rather, it's simply handed out by Kanon, who approaches them to talk about how the leader hasn't been seen in so long;
Saga's "fall from grace" comes from a humiliating match against Aiolos, originally fighting for the E4 member promotion which he lost. Despite the clear type advantage;
It's left implied that these two were meant to be gym leaders, the matches would have been double battles.
Deathmask -
DM gym's city houses a Game corner (Casino) and a contest hall. First sighting of an E4 member is Aphrodite, who introduces PC to them;
DM is a sore loser AND has no qualms with cheating against his challengers, if it means he gets to maintain his "streak". In the battle against PC he would use an overleveled Crawdaunt;
In the post-game: PC will get a hint from Shaka's radio talkshow mentioning DM's whereabouts, in the city's underground game corner;
DM's strength is everything philosophy = DM's entire personal team consists of very strong dark types with some form of 4x weakness;
DM is well in kahoots with Saga's schemes;
Aiolia - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
Shaka -
Shaka gym's city is meant to be the largest and the most advanced one (Saffron and Goldenrod cities style), it has the region's largest shop for expensive and important items. It also has a radio tower, which broadcasts various programs (professor talk, loterry ticket, poke flute, etc), Shaka hosts a talk show where he commentates on PC's progress, all while actively putting down/poking fun at his defeated colleagues. Under specific time slots, he will have a guest join him, which will be an exchange between the various league's members. But the most important one is where he will be joined by the region's "champion";
Shaka is a fan-favorite across several trainers in the region, with many NPCs commentating how much they love tuning in to hear him talk & so on;
Shaka is also well known for his psychci prowess (Sabrina style);
Shaka is also deeply involved in Saga's schemes;
Dohko -
Dohko gym's city also houses the pokéathlon. With Dohko going undefeated in all the challenges, until PC comes along;
Post-game: to get Dohko's number for rematches. PC has to visit Shion after obtaining a certain number of species then, take a mail key item to Dohko. And THEN they get Dohko's number. it's a love letter, an invitation for some tea at noon
Milo - TBA I haven't thought anything for him c':
And "unfortunately", that's all I got x)
I suppose this is a lot better than trying to find all my notes scattered around all over the place. Hope it makes sense or that in the very least, it's fun to read through.
RN I focused on the classic folks bc it's the one I've been working and thinking of for the longest time.

First post, sorta new to this whole blogging thing though. My friend thought this would be good for me though, for documenting the things I see and maybe connecting with other people more? So, here's my self introduction?
Tumblr media
My name's Aster. Without getting into too much detail I've been dealing with a lot of health stuff and it's been pretty bad for me mentally, so with some help I decided I wanna at least be able to get out on my good days. I'm gonna try and start documenting whatever little excursions I do, plus other daily life stuff. I'd like to get to know some other people on here too c:
Here's my team, I guess? I've never been a trainer lol I don't know how this is supposed to be done. I hope you like my little doodles hahaha
Tumblr media
Hijinx (Jinx/Jiji) | Shuppet | naughty
Well, he's officially categorized as naughty but he's really chilled out over the years. These days he mostly just likes to knock over my empty cups to remind me to put them in the sink. I actually met him way back in middle school, so he's the second oldest friend I still have!
Fun facts about him : he likes to rearrange the plushes on my bed, he likes pokeblock making ASMR videos, and when he laughs it sounds like "ss-ss-ss"
Tumblr media
Poffin| Audino | relaxed
He was gifted to me last year after I first got really sick, before I even got a proper diagnosis. He's been an amazing help and clues into how I'm feeling even before I realize it lol. He's also the biggest sweetheart, and even though he hasn't been with me for all that long I can't imagine living without him.
Fun facts: he's got his own little stool now for reaching things around the apartment, he loves when I buy him keychains for his little backpack and has a whole collection now, and he's always cycles through phases for the kinds of music he's really into that week.
Tumblr media
Nimbus | Altaria | Sassy
So she's not MY pokemon, my friend is lending her to me to help me with traveling when I go out. It's really amazing having such a high-level pokemon around, it's reassuring to have her there not just for comfortable travel but protection - yknow, just in case of wild pokemon or something. Her and Hijinx are still getting used to each other, can pokemon have rivals the same way trainers can?
Fun facts : I've had to get more bins because even though Unova is more lax on its recycling laws she still insists on sorting my trash according to Hoenn laws, her plumage is so soft I have accidentally fallen asleep on her back before, and I'm pretty sure she can sense what the weather is going to be like for the rest of the day?
