so I saw this meme on pinterest:
and was prompted to check out my INFJ/INTJ personality type (I always get it half-and-half) and, well:
I really don't know what I expected but I like all of these guys soooo...self-love I guess????
(but for fellow people who love personality quizes, I'd love to know: if you know your 16 personality type, does it fit for the DR characters with the same type? do you like those characters? maybe they annoy you more than others? 🤨)

✨ShadowPeach Bio Parents Bio AU Q&A! 16/10✨
Welcome to the Q&A! A space where I can answer related or similar question about the Shadowpeach Bio Parents AU! If you submitted your ask anonimously, then you’ll have to check the whole post if it’s answered here, if it’s not, worry not! Your asks might have been used for a future comic or just in the queue~
Anonimo ha chiesto: i absolutely adore your shadowpeach bio-parents au comics they flow really nicely from post to post, and i looove the balance between angst & fluff i feel as if with shadowpeach, its always either angst or fluff- no inbetween, but somehow you've found a really nice mixture of both thanks for singlehandedly keeping me in the LMK fandom haha
Thank you! Fluff and angst keep going around each other like a microwave ahah
Anonimo ha chiesto: So like with mks monkey form does he have to deal with shedding during summer I think it would be funny if macaque and Mk got fluffier during winter. Wukong wouldn't complain about a fluffy macaque though probably like sleeping with the best plushy.
Oh man I think they do indeed haha. Pigsy would scold MK bc he keeps finding fur hair everywhere in the house
Anonimo ha chiesto: You seem like someone who knows a lot about the LMK fandom, so I must ask where does the idea of Princess Iron Fan and Macaque being sworn siblings come from? Like, is it from JTTW, and im just not aware of it, I'm still trying to learn as much as I can, and I need to actually read the book. The fact that people assume I know a lot about the fandom is so hilarious (not in a mocking way, I'm just very surprised) bc like- I watched the whole show in 1 day, speedwatched Overly sarcastic production recap of JTTW and read half of the book in a week. All of this in July. That's everything that I know from the fandom.
I think it's an headcanon. in JTTW Wukong, Macaque and DBK are all part of the brotherhood so.
Anonimo ha chiesto: First off I LOVE your comic but I have the animal autism and wanted to share some Monkey facts: monkeys don't sweat like humans do they mostly sweat on the palms and feet, areas they have no fur. For overheating monkeys mainly seek shade staying under trees , increase respiration (panting), seeking water sources. Also some species might shed for a thinner coat during summer. Sweating is an exclusively human thing and why humans have been so successful humans are persistent hunters. We would often follow herds for miles waiting for them to tire and overheat while sweating keeps us perfectly cool. Humans are also the only animal to blush. Lol Again no hate love the comic I love me some Flustered blushing gay monkeys. I just have the animal autism and wanted to info dump.
Thank you for the animal fact dump! Those were actually super interesting facts!
@draxeanlxia ha chiesto: Hey question that I have no idea if you already answered but how old is MK in your BIO Parents AU? I know people (usually) believe him to at least 18 due to China’s minimum driving age but others believe him to in his early 20s. Also Mac in your AU said was ‘grown ass man’ during the baby arc. So in your AU, how old is MK?
So. in the AU he's 21 y/o. Meaning that when he arrived to Pigsy door they saw him and went "yeah, he looks around 2/3" and from then they counted on. Buut there's also the thing that he looks a little younger than that age. I wont say anything else.
Anonimo ha chiesto: Who your Favorite Lmk character??
mmmmmmm... MK bc he's monkey now. Before season 4 probably Macaque or Wukong. But I have a "thing" for characters discovering they are actually a different species and slowly gaining new/different body features bc of that, so when I saw him flickering at the end of s4 I flew to a different universe. Literally the whole reason this AU exist is because I would die for this trope
Anonimo ha chiesto: What inspired your Human Wukong & Mac designs? Mostly because my brain looks at Macaque and thinks “Cranky middle aged pirate” meanwhile Wukong’s is “That chill gay uncle” (this is based off of purely looks by the way)
Macaque is drama queen so of course he would wear a trenchvoat during fall. plus he's old inside and outside bc of all Wukong bullshit. Wukong is your friendly neighbour who lives in a sketchy house and survives on peach sodas and chips (oh wait that's just canon Wukong.)
ainnur ha chiesto: You know I like how Wukong in your comic just compare something hot with Laozi's furnace. Like with spicy food and time he help MK created the weapon. Mk: You know Wukong you mention Laozi's furnace a lot. Must really tough 49 days for you... Wukong:Yeah worst 49 years *eating peach* Mk: Can tell- wait- years..? Wukong: Yeah a day at heaven is like one year here or so..Do the math, bud *continue to eat the peach* Mk:.... what..? Wukong just casually and accidently recall his trauma because he thought it never effect him like his other trauma. Also the brotherhood have 49 years to help him but they didn't do anything. "Yeah because normally you would rush into my rescue"
Thank you for giving me this traumatic info I didn't know about. Now I will never look at Wukong the same (why did my boy have to suffer so much)
Anonimo ha chiesto: Macaque: I think I'm in love with Wukong . . . Any thoughts. Chiyou: and prayers you're going to need them.
me too bitch, the fuck
@mirror-queen226 ha chiesto: I agree about the last ask you posted (about Wukong surely wearing a dress on a date), and I just couldn't help but say my own headcanon too (with a little bit of knowledge about the ancient times that Wukong was just a child on the jttw and lmk): I dunno if you agree but okay. Honestly, both Wukong and Mac/Mihou (like i usually call him) does not care about clothes, if they feel comfortable with them, be it for woman or man, they'll wear it, especially Wukong though, I feel like he'd act like a famous diva in a on a runway showcasing new high-class clothes from Victoria Secret, Channel, or something, whilst Mac is much more discreet but not too far from that too. And considering Wukong was wearing WOMAN clothes when he was in the brotherhood in the season 4 lmk flashback, it just made me believe in that headcanon even more :) Also, I am really loving your au, it's just so perfect the way you develop every character slow and patiently, keeping their personalities untouched, not changing but instead expanding and showing them a bit more, how they are really trying to improve (Wukong and Mihou in this case) and how satisfying it is to see. I always rush to see the new updates you post about the Biodads au every time i see too, and honestly, one of the 5 best au's ever, you draw so good too, it's adorable! That's all I wanted to say, have a nice day, drink water and take care of your health! 🥰🥰🥰
Yeah true! Like they are shapeshifter, they wouldn't care what species they are, even less the perceived gender norms
Anonimo ha chiesto: Little question, while the monkeys where at Chiyou's forge, shadowpeach where still sleeping together or not?
They were all sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor (but they all were close to each other.
Anonimo ha chiesto: Generally curious what you think would have happened if MK had not been woken up and the stone wasn't broken what do you think would have happen. would he had grown up on FFM?
Aww he probably would have been raised by Wukong. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
@wolfsonic ha chiesto: I have question! Does Rumble and Sabage have sentience in your stories? Like, do they have their own personalities like MK clones do? If yes, what do they think of WuKong and MK? Also, will we see more of them? Cause I'd love Mk to meet them when he wasn't stuck as a cub and not remember.
Yeah I think they have a littel bit of personalities. They like both MK and Wukong, but would also do prank on him.
Anonimo ha chiesto: I think I won't say I'm in love from Hercules fits macaque very well
The little monkeys are the muse doing backup choir
Anonimo ha chiesto: Can we see what a courtnapping room typically looks like?
Courtnapping rooms are made specifically for the courted one, so they are all different. Basically, the room should include everything the courted person would need to live comfortable and also a collection of things they like / to pass the time /love.
It must show that the person courtnapping them is able to provide, care and protect for them. And also knows what makes them happy.
So it can be a huge castle full of jewerly and elegant clothes/ornaments or just a cozy room with some chips and video games.
Anonimo ha chiesto: Is LBD going to be a topic in your au again ?
maybe
@wolfasketch ha chiesto: We need MK interacting with his new found Auntie and Uncle please(we also new to see Red being flustered by MK while his parents are around and PIF being like "Ooohhhh")
We are VERY luky Red Son and MK didn't grew up together or we would have thier parents playing love-matching with them while they are toodlers
Anonimo ha chiesto: could we possibly get a traffic light trio and shadopeach grooming train at some point, i would love to see some bonding time between them all <3 and i would love to see mk grooming redsons hair since there's so much of it
Wait who would be the second person to be groomed? I assume RedSon hair are too hot to touch. (when he's flustered, at least)
Anonimo ha chiesto: So like how does Redsons hair/ fire work. Does it just feel warm to MK and Mei. Will it only burn/ hurt you if he doesn't trust you. Another note it must be nice having two fire demon friends during winter.
I think when he's relaxed, the hair is just- a little bit warm, then with his feelings and emotion it can go up to a bigillion degrees, so it's not harmful as long as he can control it.

you had been waiting anxiously for a callback for the big film you’d auditioned for.
it was the kind of audition you left feeling half giddy, half sick to your stomach, replaying every line in your head like you were your own worst critic. was it good enough? did they notice the slight crack in your voice during the emotional scene? and why did you nervously laugh when they said, “thank you for coming in”?
every message and call since had you hurtling towards your phone. it was becoming a bit ridiculous, really. the first couple of days, it was exciting. you’d get a text notification and scramble to check it, only to be greeted by spam.
you’d sigh, deleting it quickly, before going back to refreshing your email.
this was a recurring thing, it was starting to piss you off.
the moment your phone buzzed, you almost tripped over your own feet to grab it. but there it was: the dreaded unknown number you’d seen three times today. you stared at the screen, feeling your heart deflate. “i don’t want to renew my car’s extended warranty!” you groaned into your pillow.
by day four, you were convinced your phone was mocking you. it sat there, silent, while you tried to distract yourself with literally anything. you started scrolling through social media, but every post was about someone else’s big break, and you found yourself glaring at your screen.
“oh, of course, you booked a role,” you muttered, jealously eyeing a friend’s celebratory post about a commercial gig. “good for you, toothpaste ad girl.”
you even tried taking a walk, thinking the universe might be kinder if you weren’t obsessing over it. the park definitely slowed your mind as you watched the ducks, glancing over to the family happily laughing about anything and everything.
it’s crazy the difference in your lives, but even though you didn’t know them, you wished for them to keep their happiness even with how you were feeling right now.
by the end of the week, you were practically glued to your phone, sitting at the edge of your couch. you’d made yourself a cup of tea to calm your nerves, but it had gone cold hours ago, untouched.
and then it happened.
your phone lit up, and this time, it wasn’t your mom or a scam call or a text about household essentials. it was your manager’s number flashing on the screen. you grabbed the phone, nearly dropping it in your haste.
“hello?!” you answered, a little too loudly. you winced, immediately trying to play it cool. “oh, i mean, hey! what’s up?”
there was a pause on the other end, the kind that had you holding your breath. then your manager’s voice crackled through, sounding oddly chipper.
“guess who just booked the role?”
you let out a noise that was somewhere between a gasp and a squeak. “are you serious?! i got it?!”
“you got it!” your manager confirmed, laughing. “they loved your audition. said you brought a lot of… unique energy to the role.”
you frowned for a split second. unique energy? what did that even mean? but you didn’t have time to dwell on it because the excitement bubbling up inside you was too overwhelming. you started pacing back and forth, bouncing on the balls of your feet.
“oh my god, oh my god!” you shouted, completely losing any semblance of chill. “this is huge! this is– wait, you’re not messing with me, right? because if this is a prank, i swear i will–”
“relax,” your manager interrupted, sounding amused. “i promise, it’s the real deal. bob washington’s production company called me directly. they want you on set next week.”
“bob washington?” you echoed, your eyes widening. “like… the bob washington? he’s producing it?”
your heart was thudding harshly in your chest. you nearly dropped the phone, switching it to your other hand as you ran a nervous hand through your hair. bob washington. legendary producer, hollywood royalty, and a man known for creating some of the most iconic films of the last decade.
“yup,” your manager confirmed, clearly revelling in your reaction. “they’re calling it his biggest project in years. high budget, a-list cast, the works. they wanted someone fresh and dynamic for your role, and, well... you knocked it out of the park.”
“oh my god,” you breathed out, sinking onto your couch. your legs felt like jelly, and you were pretty sure your pulse was now audible. “i can’t believe this is happening. i can’t– this is insane!”
“i know, right?” your manager agreed, sounding almost as excited as you. “this is the kind of project that could change everything for you. it’s going to be intense, but it’s exactly the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.”
you could hardly sit still, feeling like you might burst out of your skin from the rush of adrenaline. “okay, so… what happens next? do i need to do anything? when do i start?”
“calm down,” your manager laughed. “i’ll send over all the paperwork today, and you’ll need to sign off on it. but you’re officially set to start next week. first day is monday. they want you on set early for wardrobe and a quick read through.”
“monday?” you echoed, eyes widening. “that’s in, like, three days!”
“yup,” they replied casually. “showbiz waits for no one, especially when bob washington is at the helm. so take the weekend to get your head straight and be ready. oh, and maybe do some research on the other cast members. you’re going to be working with some big names.”
you nodded, even though they couldn’t see you, taking a deep breath to steady yourself. “okay. okay, i can do this.”
“that’s the spirit,” your manager said, their tone turning a bit softer. “this is your big break. you’ve earned it. go get ready to blow everyone away.”
“thank you,” you managed to say, voice thick with emotion. “seriously. for everything.”
“don’t thank me yet,” your manager teased. “save it for after you’ve made it through the first week without fainting.”
you hung up, staring at your phone in disbelief. for a moment, you just sat there, letting the reality of it all sink in. you’d gotten the call. the role you’d dreamed of was yours and in a few short days, you’d be stepping onto a set unlike any you’d been on before.
your first day on set was a whirlwind, and calling it crazy would be a massive understatement.
you were beyond nervous, practically buzzing with a mix of excitement and fear. you’d changed your outfit at least five times that morning, scrutinising every detail as if your career depended on whether your shirt said “professional” or “i have no idea what i’m doing.” by the time you arrived, you were convinced they could see the nerves shaking through you.
but all your worries melted away the moment you stepped onto the lot. instead of the cold, judgmental stares you’d been bracing for, you were met with warm smiles and friendly greetings. the crew bustled around you, nodding and waving, making you feel like you were already part of the family. it was as if everyone had collectively decided that you belonged here, no questions asked.
“hey, you must be the new star!” a woman in a headset called out, grinning as she approached. “i’m sara, assistant director. welcome to the madness!”
you laughed, the tension easing just a bit. “that obvious, huh?”
“well, we did hear about you,” she replied with a wink. “bob’s been talking you up since the casting decision. he’s really excited about you joining the team.”
your stomach fluttered at the mention of bob washington. it felt surreal, knowing that a man of his status had taken notice of you. “i’m just hoping i don’t mess it up,” you admitted, trying to keep your smile steady.
“you won’t,” she said simply, squeezing your shoulder. “c’mon, let’s get you over to wardrobe. they want to do a final fitting before we start blocking your first scene.”
you nodded, following her through the maze of trailers and equipment. as you walked, you couldn’t help but take it all in. the towering sets, the clamour of voices, the scent of fresh coffee and sawdust hanging in the air. it felt like stepping into another world, one you’d only ever dreamed of being part of.
wardrobe was a flurry of fabric and pins, the team immediately setting upon you with expert hands, adjusting and perfecting your look. they chatted as they worked, making you laugh with their behind the scenes stories and gossip about past productions.
it was impossible not to feel at ease around them, and by the time they were done, you felt like you’d already made a few new friends.
stepping out of the trailer in your costume with a newfound confidence. taking a breath before meeting up with sara.
“looking good,” sara called over, giving you a thumbs-up. “ready for your first scene?”
you took a deep breath, the nerves settling into something steadier, like anticipation. “ready as i’ll ever be.”
“great! we’ll do a quick run through on set, and then we’ll start filming.”
you followed her to the soundstage, where the set was already in full swing. cameras were being adjusted, lights were positioned just so, and the director was deep in conversation with the cinematographer. the air buzzed with energy, and for a moment, you felt like a small cog in a very big machine.
but then bob washington himself appeared, striding across the set with purpose. he looked exactly as you’d imagined. a tall, silver-haired man with an aura of calm confidence, like he knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it.
he spotted you instantly, breaking into a broad smile as he approached. “there she is!” he said warmly, extending a hand. “our newest star. i’m so glad you could join us.”
you shook his hand, hoping he couldn’t feel the slight tremble in your fingers. “thank you, mr. washington. this is… incredible. i’m really honoured to be here.”
“please, call me bob,” he insisted, waving away the formality. “and the honour is ours. i’ve got a good feeling about you, you’re exactly what this film needs.”
the praise made your cheeks heat up, and you couldn’t help but smile back. “i’ll do my best to live up to it.”
“i know you will,” he said confidently. “now, let’s get you into position. i want you to feel comfortable, so if you need anything, just let us know..”
as bob walked away to speak with the director, you took your place in front of the camera for the first time. the lights were hot, the crew was watching, and the nerves threatened to bubble up again. but then you remembered the way everyone had welcomed you, the genuine smiles, and bob’s encouraging words. you took a deep breath and rolled your shoulders back, settling into the moment.
“all right, everyone, quiet on set!” the director called out. “we’re ready for the first take.”
the set fell silent, and you felt the weight of it, the anticipation hanging in the air. you were about to speak your first line, to step into this role that you’d fought so hard for.
and for the first time all day, you didn’t feel nervous. you felt ready.
“action!” the director shouted.
it was the second week of filming when you first met josh. he strolled onto set with his dad, cutting through the chaos of cameras and crew with an easy confidence, like he’d done this a million times before. you hadn’t known what to expect, you’d heard people whisper. the washington name came with a lot of preconceived notions, but when he flashed that wide, boyish grin at you, all your assumptions melted away.
josh was nothing but lovely from the start. he introduced himself with a playful smirk and a handshake that lingered just a moment longer than necessary. “and you are?” he asked, his eyes bright with curiosity, like he already knew your name but wanted to hear you say it.
you gave it, trying to keep your own smile polite and professional, but it was hard not to be charmed by the way he looked at you. “nice to meet you, josh.”
“trust me,” he replied, leaning in slightly, voice dropping to a low whisper, “the pleasure’s all mine.”
from that moment on, josh was a regular presence on set, always finding his way over to where you were between takes. he’d crack jokes, compliment your performance, and offer you his hoodie whenever the chilly air left you shivering.
it wasn’t exactly a secret that he liked you. it was there in the way he lit up when you entered a room, the way he leaned closer when he talked to you. he was flirty, sure, but never in a sleazy way. it was sweet, almost shy at times, like he couldn’t quite believe his luck that you just might be interested in him too.
one afternoon, you found yourself sitting together at the edge of the set, the sun dipping low behind the trees. most of the crew had wrapped for the day, the noise dying down to a soft murmur as everyone packed up. josh sat close enough that your knees were almost touching, a faint smirk on his lips as he handed you a coffee he’d picked up from the food truck.
“figured you might need a pick me up,” he said, eyes glinting with amusement. “you looked like you were about to fall asleep standing up during that last scene.”
you laughed, taking the cup from him gratefully. “wow, so i’m that obvious, huh?”
“only to someone who’s paying attention,” he teased, nudging your shoulder with his. he took a sip of his own drink, then glanced sideways at you, his expression softening. “you’ve been killing it, by the way. i know everyones been super impressed.”
you felt a blush rise to your cheeks, caught off guard by the compliment. “thanks, josh. that means a lot.”
he was quiet for a moment, watching you with a soft look in eyes. “you know,” he said slowly, like he was testing the waters, “i’ve never really seen someone fit in so quickly. it’s like you’ve been a part of this cast forever.”
“i could say the same about you,” you replied, raising an eyebrow. “you’ve practically become one of us, and you’re not even in the movie.”
he chuckled, the sound low and warm. “yeah, well, maybe i just like hanging around you.”
there it was. that flirty charm that made your pulse quicken every time. you tried to play it cool, leaning back and giving him a teasing smile. “is that so?”
josh’s grin widened, but then he looked down, almost sheepish. “yeah,” he admitted softly, and for once, he didn’t sound like he was trying to impress you. it was just honest. “you’re different, you know? in a good way.”
you opened your mouth to respond, but before you could say anything, a loud voice called out from across the set. “josh! we need you over here for a second!”
he sighed, rolling his eyes but standing up anyway. “duty calls,” he said, but before he walked away, he turned back to you, taking a small step closer. “let’s hang out after this. just us,” he suggested, his tone hopeful.
you couldn’t help but smile. “yeah,” you agreed, feeling a jolt of excitement you hadn’t felt in a long time. “i’d like that.”
josh’s smile was all teeth as he jogged off, giving you a quick wave before disappearing into the crowd. you watched him go. it was impossible not to feel something for him, the way he made you feel seen, special. you couldn’t help but wonder if he felt it too, or if it was just his natural charm.
by the time shooting was nearing its end, you’d formed the softest spot for josh. it wasn’t just the way he made you laugh or how he seemed to know exactly what to say to put you at ease.
it was the little routines you’d fallen into together, the kind that made it hard to imagine your days without him.
every morning, without fail, josh would show up at your trailer with your favourite drink in hand. he’d knock once and then let himself in with a bright, teasing grin. “good morning, beautiful,”
it didn’t matter how tired you were or how early the call time was. he'd always bring a bit of sunshine with him, and you’d find yourself smiling back even on your worst days.
it started with his playful affection. at first, his hands would land on your shoulders as a joke, squeezing them dramatically like he was an over the top masseuse. “rough night?” he’d ask with a wink, his fingers digging into the knots from the long hours on set.
but as the weeks went by, those joking massages turned into something more real. he’d work out the tension in your neck and back while the makeup artists did their work, his touch firm but gentle, the kind of attention that made you melt.
“careful, you’re going to put me out of a job,” one of the makeup artists would joke, glancing between the two of you with a knowing smile.
josh would just chuckle, his hands lingering a bit longer than necessary before he’d sigh dramatically when it was time for them to move on to your hair. “fine, fine,” he’d say, stepping back like he was truly reluctant to let you go. but then he’d slide into the chair beside you, threading his fingers through yours without a second thought, as if holding your hand was the most natural thing in the world.
he’d sit there contentedly, scrolling through his phone with his free hand, occasionally showing you a funny meme or a video he thought you’d like. he always had that wide smile on his lips, the kind that made it clear just how happy he was to be there with you. it was a kind of peace, a quiet connection that neither of you had to put into words.
you knew people noticed, and you didn’t mind. it was hard not to smile at the way he looked at you. the playful flirting had given way to something tender, something that felt a lot like the start of a relationship neither of you had fully acknowledged yet.
as your makeup artist stepped back and declared you camera ready, josh gave your hand a gentle squeeze. “you look amazing,” he said quietly, his voice low and sincere, all the teasing gone from his tone.
you turned to him, meeting his eyes. “thanks, josh,”
“i couldn’t have done it without my personal masseuse.”
he laughed, leaning closer so no one else could hear. “anytime,” he murmured, his breath warm against your ear. “but, you know, you don’t have to wait until we’re on set for this kind of attention. we could... make it a regular thing.”
your eyes flicked up to meet his, and you saw it there. the unspoken question, the hope he was trying to play off as casual. you bit your lip to hide your smile, giving his hand one last squeeze before letting go.
“yeah,” you said softly, feeling the warmth bloom in your chest. “i’d like that.”
the last weeks of filming flew by in a blur, each day bleeding into the next. if you weren’t on set, you were out grabbing late night drinks and dinners with the cast or rehearsing lines together. it felt like you were constantly moving, your days filled with laughter. just pure fun with all your new friends..
well, most of them, anyway.
then there was olivia.
no matter how friendly you tried to be, it was like talking to a mirror. everything bounced back at you with a reflection of fake smiles and hollow laughter. she was sweet and bubbly when others were around, playing the role of best friend like it was written into her script. but the second you were alone, her expression would shift. like she couldn’t drop the mask fast enough.
you were in the middle of reapplying your lip gloss in the bathroom when the door swung open with a bang. olivia stormed in, her heels clicking sharply against the tile. she came to a stop beside you at the sink, her gaze briefly meeting yours in the mirror before she looked away, pulling out her compact and patted at her makeup.
for a moment, there was nothing but the sound of her rummaging through her purse and the muted thump of music coming from outside. you kept your focus on your own reflection, but you could feel her presence next to you, heavy and expectant, like she was waiting for something.
finally, jessica let out a huff, a tight, forced laugh that seemed to come out of nowhere. “you know,” she said, her tone as sugary as ever but dripping with something darker, “it’s funny.”
“what is?” you asked, capping your lip gloss and glancing over at her.
she leaned in closer, the smile on her lips so thin it looked painful. “how everyone is obsessed with you.” her voice was sharp, each word pointed like the edge of a knife. “it’s almost impressive, the way you’ve got them all wrapped around your finger. i mean, what’s your secret?”
you blinked, caught off guard by the sudden shift in her tone. “olivia, i’m not–”
“oh, spare me,” she snapped, dropping the sweet act entirely. her eyes narrowed, the fake friendliness dissolving. “don’t play innocent. you know exactly what you’re doing.”
a frown tugged at your lips, confusion mixing with a flicker of irritation. “i’m just here to do my job,” you said, trying to keep your voice even. “if i’ve upset you somehow–”
“upset me?” jessica cut you off with a dry laugh, tilting her head like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “god, you really think you’re above it all, don’t you? just because everyone likes you right now doesn’t mean they always will.”
you took a step back, feeling the heat of her words. there it was. the real olivia, finally showing through the cracks of her perfect persona. “i’m not trying to compete with you, liv,” you said quietly. “we’re supposed to be a team.”
she scoffed, rolling her eyes. “oh, please. we both know this industry isn’t about teams. it’s about who shines the brightest. and right now, that’s you.” she snapped her compact shut and shoved it back into her bag with a sharp motion. “but don’t get too comfortable. you’re just the flavour of the month.”
you took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. it would’ve been easy to snap back, to throw her own words in her face, but you knew that was exactly what she wanted. instead, you offered her a small, tight smile. “if that’s how you feel, then i’m sorry.”
her eyes flicked up to yours, a flicker of surprise flashing across her face before she quickly masked it. it was almost like she hadn’t expected you to be so calm, like she’d been gearing up for a fight you weren’t going to give her.
“whatever,” she muttered, but her voice was sharper now, laced with something bitter. she turned on her heel, strutting towards the door with a slow, almost mocking glance back over her shoulder. “enjoy this little fling with josh while you can,” she added, her tone practically dripping with disdain.
her smirk widening as she continued, voice dripping with bitterness. “he’s just being nice to you. it’s what he does– flirts a little, makes you feel good about yourself. you’re not the first girl to fall for it, and you definitely won’t be the last.”
you swallowed hard, but the sting was already spreading through your chest. it felt like she’d reached right in and found the one spot where you weren’t sure of yourself, digging her nails in just to see how much it would hurt.
“i give it a few weeks before he moves on to someone else,” jessica added, her tone almost singing now, like she was savouring the taste of the words. “i’m sure he’ll find another little pet project soon enough.”
she turned and strutted out, the door slamming shut behind her, leaving you standing there in the echoing silence. you stared at your reflection in the mirror, your hands gripping the edge of the sink so tightly your knuckles turned white. you tried to shake it off, to tell yourself that she was just being petty, but her words had landed right where they were meant to.
you couldn’t help but wonder if she was right. maybe you weren’t special. maybe you were just another girl caught up in josh’s charm, another temporary distraction for him to play with before he got bored.
as you walked back out to rejoin the others, you felt the sliver of doubt she’d planted start to grow, worming its way deeper into your mind. you couldn’t shake it, her words playing on a loop, biting and bitter.
you’re not the first girl to fall for it, and you definitely won’t be the last.
you stepped onto set and josh looked up immediately, his grin spreading across his face as soon as he caught your eye. it was like the whole room disappeared for him, like you were the only person he wanted to see. for a split second, you felt the warmth of it wash over you, the easy comfort you’d come to crave.
and then that sliver of doubt dug deeper, twisting painfully. you frowned, forcing yourself to look away as you made your way to where you were supposed to be, brushing him off without a word. you could feel his gaze follow you, his smile faltering, slipping away like he couldn’t quite understand what had changed.
i give it a few weeks before he moves on to someone else.
olivia’s voice echoed in your mind, harsher now, louder. you clenched your jaw, eyes fixed on the ground as you took your mark. you didn’t dare look back at him, even as the silence stretched on and you knew he was still watching, trying to catch your eye.
you distanced yourself from him for the last few days of filming. it wasn’t something you planned, but every time you saw him, olivia’s words clawed their way back to the surface, sharp and jagged, cutting into whatever fragile hope you had left.
you started to lock your trailer door in the mornings, sitting in the too quiet space with your heart pounding in your chest. your stylist team exchanged concerned looks behind your back, their hands moving a little more gently through your hair, as if they could sense the storm you were holding in.
the pain gnawed at you, raw and relentless. how could you be so stupid? you thought. of course this was how it would end. he was josh washington, the son of a hollywood icon, used to getting whatever he wanted. he could have anyone, and you’d been foolish enough to think you were different. that you were something more than a temporary distraction.
you were angry, but mostly at yourself. angry for letting your guard down, for believing that the way he treated you meant something real. it hurt in a way you hadn’t expected, a dull ache that pulsed through your chest every time you saw him across the room.
and when you did see him, he looked just as lost. his usual bright smile had dimmed, replaced with a soft, uncertain look that he reserved only for you, like he didn’t quite know what he’d done wrong but was desperate to fix it. you tried to avoid his eyes, but it was impossible. they always found you, pleading silently for you to come back, to talk to him, to let him in.
but you couldn’t. not now. not when you were convinced it had all been a lie.
on the final day of shooting, you pulled away from your friends as they gathered for one last photo, your throat tight with the effort of holding back tears. you forced yourself to look up, and there he was, standing across the room, watching you. the look on his face broke you a little more. a mixture of confusion, sadness, and something you couldn’t quite place, something that made you want to run to him and pull him close, even now.
he tried to give you a small, sad smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. it was like he was holding out an olive branch, unsure if you’d take it. your heart twisted painfully, the urge to just say screw it almost overwhelming.
you debated for a second, the weight of it all crashing down on you. then, you managed the briefest of smiles, a tiny, strained thing that faded almost as soon as it appeared. it was all you could give him. and when you turned to leave, there was a tug, a pull from you to him.
the door closed behind you, and you didn’t look back.
a year passed, and life moved on. at least, that’s what you kept telling yourself. you stayed in touch with the friends you’d made on set, the group chat still active. but it wasn’t the same, not without him.
you’d started to make a name for yourself in the industry, your social media blowing up when the announcement came that you’d be starring in a new film. the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, fans excited to see you. it should’ve felt like a triumph, something to celebrate, but every time you saw the comments or got a congratulatory message, there was a hollow ache you couldn’t shake.
you tried to fill the void with dates. new people, new places. but none of them went past the first dinner or drinks. you laughed and made small talk, but it always felt forced, like you were going through the motions. you kept telling yourself it was because you were busy, too focused on your career to make time for anything serious.
but that wasn’t the truth, and you knew it. you missed him. you missed josh. the way he’d made you feel, the way you clicked from the very first moment. it was something you’d never had before and hadn’t found since, and it haunted you more than you wanted to admit. you hated how you left things, but the thought of facing him, of looking him in the eyes and seeing what hurt you caused. it terrified you.
you sighed, leaning back in the vanity chair as your makeup artist lined your lips with whatever product she was using. it felt good to be back in the routine of it all. you closed your eyes, letting yourself sink into the comfortable rhythm of the brushes, the gentle hum of conversation around you.
your playlist played quietly in the background, filling the silence with a mix of your favourite songs. and then, it shifted to something different, a song that made your chest tighten painfully.
the one that used to play in his car, the one he’d sing along to, off-key and grinning as he’d turn up the volume just to make you laugh. you opened your eyes, staring at your reflection in the mirror.
the smile you’d been wearing slipped away, replaced by something softer, sadder. the makeup artist paused, noticing the change in your expression.
“you okay?” she asked gently, her hand hovering near your shoulder.
you forced a small, tight smile. “yeah,” you lied, your voice barely above a whisper. “i’m fine.”
but as the song played on, you realised just how untrue that was. you weren’t fine, and you hadn’t been since the moment you walked away from him.
there wasn’t time to dwell on it, not when the makeup artist was stepping back to admire her work, giving you a final nod of approval before you were whisked away to get dressed. you were guided behind a privacy screen where a small army of stylists and assistants waited with your gown.
it was a process, the kind that required several hands, gentle tugs and tucks, and lots of patience. you held your arms up as they shimmied the dress up your body, the fabric whispering against your skin as it slid into place. it was stunning. a custom made one, of course.
the bodice was sleek, hugging your curves in deep, midnight blue satin that seemed to shimmer under the light. it had a delicate sweetheart neckline, showing just the right amount of collarbone, and thin, elegant straps that wrapped around your shoulders.
as they adjusted the fit, you glanced down at the intricate beadwork that trailed from your waist, cascading into the full skirt like a waterfall of tiny, sparkling stars. the gown flowed out into a subtle train behind you, the kind that made you feel like you were gliding when you walked. it was a dress designed to make a statement, to turn heads and capture attention the second you stepped into the room.
but as they fluffed the layers and pinned a few final details, your mind drifted back to him. would he be there tonight? you hadn’t asked, too afraid of the answer. if he was there, would he even look at you? did he hate you now for leaving the way you did? and did you even want to see him, knowing it would bring back everything you’d tried so hard to bury?
the stylists stepped back, murmuring their approval, and you turned to face the mirror. for a moment, you barely recognized yourself. you looked beautiful, powerful even, like you belonged in the spotlight that was awaiting you.
you smoothed your hands over the satin fabric, taking a steadying breath. it was showtime. whatever happened tonight, whoever you might see, you needed to keep your head high.
“ready?” one of the assistants asked, offering you a bright smile as they held the door open.
you nodded, forcing a confident smile as you stepped out into the hall. “ready as i’ll ever be.”
but as you made your way to the venue, the sound of your own heartbeat seemed to drown out everything else, a constant, pounding reminder that no matter how you looked on the outside, you were far from ready.
the second your heels touched the pavement, you were met with an explosion of blinding lights. flashes erupted from every angle, the paparazzi swarming you, desperate for the next big story. voices overlapped in a chaotic frenzy:
“look here! over your shoulder! who are you wearing tonight?”
you forced a smile, dazzling but rehearsed, turning slightly to give them a better angle as you adjusted the skirt of your gown. the cameras loved it, loved you. you could almost hear the clicks getting faster, the flashes coming quicker, and you knew by the looks on their faces that the photos would be everywhere tomorrow.
but your eyes weren’t on them; they were searching the crowd, scanning the sea of faces. you caught sight of your castmates just inside the venue, a familiar group gathered together in the warm light, posing for photos of their own. you watched as they laughed, their smiles wide and genuine. for a moment, you felt a pang of longing, you missed them, missed the easy camaraderie you’d once had.
you took a deep breath, lifting your chin a little higher as you made your way towards the entrance. the red carpet felt like it stretched on forever, every step heavy with the weight of anticipation. you could feel the eyes on you, not just from the photographers but from the crowd gathered behind the barriers. fans calling your name, reaching out with pens and posters. you waved, gave them that same bright smile, even as your stomach twisted into a knot.
you made your way over to the fans lined up along the barricade, the shouts of your name cutting through the noise. you couldn’t help but smile as you leaned in, reaching for the first outstretched poster.
“can you sign this?” a girl asked breathlessly, her eyes wide with excitement.
“of course,” you said warmly, scribbling your signature across the glossy paper before handing it back. you moved down the line, taking your time with each person, pausing to hold their hands and answer their rapid fire questions as best you could.
“what’s your favourite scene in the new movie?” someone yelled.
“can’t spoil it for you!” you teased, giving them a playful wink. “but you’ll love it, i promise.”
you paused when you saw a young teen, her cheeks wet with tears, clutching a phone case with your face on it. you knelt down a little, brushing a stray tear from her cheek with a gentle thumb.
“hey, you alright?” you asked softly, giving her a reassuring smile.
she nodded quickly, wiping her face with her sleeve. “i just… i can’t believe i’m meeting you.”
your heart melted a little at that. “well, i’m so glad you’re here,” you said sincerely. “you’re amazing. don’t forget that, okay?”
you hugged her quickly, the crowd erupting in cheers around you. when you pulled back, she was beaming, and it made the exhaustion you’d felt all day fade away. you moved on, taking selfies with everyone who asked, laughing and chatting. it was honestly one of the best parts of your night.
you took a deep breath, flashing one last smile at the crowd before stepping back. the fans waved and shouted their goodbyes, their faces lit up with joy, and you couldn’t help but feel the same joy in your own chest.
the red carpet felt endless beneath your feet, stretching out in front of you like a vivid trail leading you toward a thousand cameras, all flashing at once. it was chaos, but the good kind. the kind where you could almost feel the excitement buzzing in the air, like a collective anticipation.
the energy of the crowd was contagious, and you couldn’t help but smile, soaking in the moment as you made your way down the carpet, exchanging waves and greetings with familiar faces. it was all about the premiere, of course, but for you, it felt more like a reunion of sorts. a chance to reconnect with old friends and colleagues you hadn’t seen in a while.
you hadn’t gone more than a few steps when a voice broke through the noise.
“look at you! killing it out here!”
before you even had time to react, a warm hug pulled you in. ryan. a guy you’d worked with on a previous project, was grinning at you with that mischievous twinkle in his eyes. he stepped back to give you a once over, then mock pouted.
“you’re out here making me look like an amateur. you should’ve warned me.”
you chuckled, adjusting the hem of your dress as if it were the most dramatic thing in the world. “not true. you’re just not bringing enough sparkle to the table,” you teased, nudging him playfully with your elbow.
he raised an eyebrow, looking you up and down. “i’m just trying to keep up. but i gotta say– mission accomplished. you’re stealing the spotlight tonight.”
the photographer’s call broke through the banter, and with a flash of the cameras, you both struck a pose. you leaned in slightly, offering your best smiles as the clicking of the cameras. you could hear the photographer giving a quiet “perfect!” before they moved on to catch the next moment.
you gave him a quick wave and moved on, weaving through the throng of excited actors and industry folk, all basking in the glamour of the night. there was something intoxicating about it – the shared joy, the excitement, the way everyone seemed to be feeding off each other’s energy.
a few steps down, you spotted someone you didn’t know well but had met at industry events before. a woman whose laugh was as big as her personality. she waved as she caught sight of you, and before you could even offer a word of greeting, you were pulled into a warm, tight hug.
“is this your first premiere?” she asked, her voice bright with curiosity.
you smiled, shrugging a little. “no, but i’m still kinda freaking out. there’s just something about the flashing lights that makes me feel a little claustrophobic,” you admitted with a laugh.
she grinned, understanding exactly what you meant. “it’s like being in a fishbowl for a night, right? everyone’s looking at you, but you’ve got to own it. let’s have some fun with it!”
the cameras around you both clicked as you posed together, flashes going off so quickly you could hardly keep up. there was no rush, no pressure. just laughter and the easy chemistry that made you feel at home in the chaos. after a few more shots, you thanked her and kept moving.
the next few minutes blurred together, more poses with more familiar faces. a guy you’d met once at a party last year, a rising star in a rom com who was just starting to get their break through, a selfie with someone who had appeared in an indie film you adored.
it felt like an effortless stream of interactions, as if you were just hanging out with friends instead of being on a giant event.
but then, you noticed something. as you made your way down the carpet, the crowd around you seemed to dissipate. you didn’t know if it was your own sense of space or just the natural ebb of the event, but suddenly you found yourself alone. there was no one nearby, no familiar faces laughing or posing for pictures. just the sharp clicking of cameras and the hum of voices from the crowd.
the realisation hit you like a wave, and with it came the creeping tide of anxiety. your heart began to beat a little faster, the flashing lights growing brighter, the eyes of the photographers turning into an overwhelming pressure. it wasn’t just the cameras. it was the sheer number of people, all of them looking at you, all of them waiting for something, expecting something.
you tried to steady your breath, forcing yourself to smile through the nervous tightness that was starting to crawl up your chest. but it wasn’t working. the world seemed to be closing in, the noise around you getting louder, more suffocating.
and just when you felt like you might lose it, a hand settled firmly on your waist. before you could process what was happening, you were gently spun into someone.
your hands landed against the solid expanse of their chest, you looked up, you met josh’s eyes, his face soft with concern, a quiet understanding in his gaze.
"hey,” he said, his voice low, cutting through the madness. “you okay?”
the world slowed. his presence was the grounding force you needed, the anchor that pulled you back from the edge of panic. you inhaled deeply, feeling your heart rate slowly return to normal, the suffocating weight of the moment lifting.
“yeah...” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “i think i am now.”
you both turned back to the cameras, the bright flashes momentarily blinding you, but josh’s presence beside you grounded you. his hand, warm and firm around yours, tugged you gently, guiding you into a slow spin. the world around you seemed to slow as you turned, the cacophony of the red carpet fading into the background.
“isn’t she so beautiful, ladies and gents?” josh’s voice rang out, effortlessly confident, the words slipping out like a natural compliment, as though it was the simplest truth in the world.
all that was heard were cheers and whistles surrounding you.
you couldn’t help but laugh. a genuine, startled laugh, the kind that bubbled up from deep inside you. the sound echoed around you, and it felt like the air cleared for just a moment, like the weight of the night lifted. you stumbled slightly, your feet shifting against the plush carpet, and found yourself falling back against him.
his arms caught you instinctively, pulling you close. the warmth of his chest against your back, the steady pressure of his hand on your waist. you glanced up, meeting his gaze, and suddenly the world didn’t seem so big, it didn't feel so overwhelming.
but josh’s eyes, dark and intent, told you everything without a single word. there was something there. something unspoken, a silent intensity that left you breathless. it was in the way he looked at you, the way his lips quirked into a small, almost shy smile, and the way his thumb traced slow circles on your skin. his hand never left you, his touch steady, grounding you in the middle of the chaos.
you could feel the pull between you, magnetic, undeniable. the longing was palpable, the unspoken words that hovered between you both. it wasn’t just the physical closeness, the way your bodies fit together so naturally, or the way his hands held you with such ease. it was the way his eyes never strayed from yours, like he was trying to convey everything that words couldn’t.
in that moment, it was clear — everything you both needed was right here, in the quiet tension between a glance and a breath.
and for a fleeting second, you almost forgot about the cameras, the lights, the flashes. you almost forgot about everything and just stayed in that space, just the two of you, with the unsaid words hanging in the air.
it wasn’t long before you two made your way into the theater.
you followed josh inside. the world outside had momentarily faded away as the two of you found your seats, the lights dimming around you. the film was about to start, but there was no denying the tension between you.
as the opening credits rolled, you tried to focus on the screen, your own face staring back at you larger than life. it was surreal, seeing yourself up there, but despite the excitement, there was something else that kept drawing your attention away. josh.
you could feel his presence beside you, warm and steady. his leg brushed against yours, sending a small jolt through you. the whole theater could’ve been empty, and you still would’ve been hyper aware of him.
the movie played on, but you couldn't quite get lost in it. your heart raced, every subtle movement from josh had you second guessing your focus. his hand was now dangerously close to yours, just a few inches away. with every frame, your breath caught a little more, the anticipation mounting.
ever so slowly, josh’s fingers inched toward yours. you held your breath, hoping it wouldn’t be too obvious. but as he grazed the back of your hand, a little shiver ran through you. you turned your palm up ever so slightly, just enough for him to get the hint.
his fingers brushed against yours again, this time lingering for just a moment. your heart hammered in your chest, and you couldn't help the sly grin that tugged at the corner of your mouth. his eyes flicked over to you, a mischievous glint in them, before his hand fully settled in yours, fingers intertwining.
you both glanced at each other, and for a moment, the world outside of that theater vanished. the film could have been playing a thousand scenes, and neither of you would have noticed. the only thing that mattered was the warmth of josh’s hand in yours, the way he squeezed it gently.
by the time the credits rolled and the lights came up, you both were still sitting close, your hands now very obviously intertwined. there was a satisfied, playful grin on both your faces, a mutual understanding of what had just happened between you, and neither of you could stop the little spark of joy that flickered in your chest.
the crowd outside the theater had thinned, and there were only a few straggling onlookers left. the lack of paparazzi made the air feel lighter, more intimate. the flashing cameras, the constant eyes on you, had disappeared as quickly as they’d arrived, leaving only the steady presence of josh by your side. his hand was still firmly wrapped around yours, and though the world seemed to fall away, you couldn't help but feel the weight of all the whispered glances from the few people still lingering around.
you snuck a glance at him, and he caught it, his eyes meeting yours with a playful smile. you both walked in silence toward the exit, but the tension between you was thick. it wasn’t just the excitement from the night, or the high of seeing yourself on the big screen, it was something else. something you couldn’t quite name yet, but you felt it every time his fingers brushed against yours.
once you reached the parking lot, you turned to him. "do you want to come back to my place?" the words felt sudden, but they were honest. he raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk pulling at his lips, but he didn’t hesitate.
"yeah, i'd like that," he said softly, his hand tightening around yours as you made your way to his car.
the drive was quiet but not uncomfortable. the radio hummed quietly in the background, but it was his presence that consumed your attention. every so often, you'd catch his eyes glancing at you, his face softening with a tenderness that made you feel both a little breathless.
when you reached your apartment, he pulled up to the curb and parked, smoothly shifting into neutral. before you could reach for the door handle, he was already there, opening it for you. his fingers curled around the edge of the door. he offered you his hand, helping you out. it was such a casual thing, but it still managed to pull a smile out of you, the kind that you had to look away to hide.
he walked alongside you to your front door, his presence warm against the cool night air. he waited patiently, a step behind as you fished your keys from your bag. you could feel his eyes on you, attentive but soft, like he was memorising this small moment. the lock clicked, and you pushed the door open, stepping inside and feeling the rush of warmth against your skin.
he stepped inside, his focus shifting to the family photos on the walls as he moved with unhurried steps. the silence felt heavy now, filled only by the click of your heels across the floor as you set your handbag on the counter. you could hear the quiet scuff of his shoes as he followed, moving closer, the distance between you shrinking with every breath.
josh stood in front of you, his eyes softening as he took in the tension on your face. he could see it. the way your brows furrowed slightly, the way your lips were pressed together. the worry was evident, and it made him feel an unfamiliar ache in his chest.
"hey," he said, his voice low and gentle, "what’s going on? you’ve been quiet ever since we got here." he took a small step closer, his eyes never leaving yours as if he was waiting for you to say something, anything.
you opened your mouth to respond, but the words caught in your throat, trapped somewhere between confusion and guilt. what could you say? how could you explain the mess inside your head, the things that had been eating away at you for the past year?
you felt his presence growing stronger, like he was waiting for you to reach out, but you couldn’t. you didn’t know how to bridge the distance that had built up between you, even if it was only in your own heart.
“i– i don’t know how to say this.” your voice cracked slightly, betraying the emotions you hadn’t allowed yourself to feel until now.
josh tilted his head, concern deepening in his eyes. “you don’t have to explain anything if you’re not ready, but i'm here to listen if you are.”
his words, that small gesture of understanding, only made the pressure in your chest tighten. the last year had been filled with silence, each day spent wondering if you’d made the wrong choice. and now, standing before him, feeling the warmth of his presence, you were finally forced to confront the truth.
was it worth it to trust someone else's words over his?
“olivia said... she said some things about you. about us,” you began, your throat tight as you struggled to find the words. “i let her get into my head. and i chose to believe them. since i've seen past tabloids of you, and i just... i don’t know. it made me think maybe i was just another girl to you, josh. that i was nothing special.” the words were difficult to choke out, like each one took something from you.
you took a shaky breath, your voice thick with the emotion you’d been holding back for so long. “i know i should have talked to you, josh. i should’ve just asked you if it was true, if i was just another girl in a long line of flings. but i couldn’t bring myself to do it.” you looked down, your gaze fixed on the floor as you admitted the hardest part. “i was terrified. i was scared that if i asked, on the off chance that it was true, it would hurt even worse than believing the lie.”
josh’s expression shattered, he’d just realised how deep the wound went. he moved even closer, his hands sliding up to gently cradle your face, forcing you to look at him. “god, i hate that you felt that way,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “you should never have had to doubt us. i should’ve made sure you knew how much you meant to me. i’m so sorry.”
your chest tightened, a fresh wave of tears spilling over as you finally let yourself lean into his touch, the warmth of his palms grounding you in the moment. it was like he was trying to hold all the broken pieces of you together, the way his thumbs gently stroked your cheeks.
“i didn’t know,” you whispered, your voice raw. “i didn’t know if it was real, or if i was just something temporary for you.”
“it’s real,” josh said urgently, his forehead pressing against yours. “it’s always been real with you. and i should’ve done more to show you that. i’m here now, and i’m not letting go again.”
“i should’ve trusted you,” you whispered, the guilt bubbling to the surface. "but the way she said it, the way it all just seemed to line up... i thought maybe she was right. i thought maybe you were just... playing around." you swallowed hard, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over. “i didn’t know what to think anymore. and i pushed you away.”
josh’s hands slid to your shoulders, his grip gentle but firm. “i get why you felt that way, but i’m not like that. i never have been with you.” his voice dropped, becoming more vulnerable. “i’ve been falling for you this whole time. and i know i messed up.
i didn’t fight hard enough for us when i should’ve.” he sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “i should’ve told you how i felt. i shouldn’t have let you think i was anything like those guys. i’m not.”
you stood there, trying to process everything he was saying, the rawness in his words hitting you. the walls you had built around yourself started to crack, the defences you’d spent a year erecting finally starting to crumble in the face of his honesty.
“i don’t want to be just another fling, josh,” you whispered, your voice barely above a breath. “i need to know i mean something to you.”
“you do,” he said, his voice almost pleading now. “you mean everything to me.” his hands slid down your arms, holding onto you with a desperate kind of tenderness. “i’ve been stupid, letting this distance grow between us. i never stopped caring about you. and i’m sorry for not saying it sooner. i can’t keep pretending i don’t feel this way.”
the air between you was thick, almost stifling, as if every unsaid word hung there, waiting. your chest rose and fell, breaths coming a little faster than they should. he looked at you, searching your face like he was trying to find the right thing to say, but couldn’t.
for a second, you just stood there, both caught in that in between place, uncertain, but wanting more than you were willing to admit. you could see the way his gaze flickered, the way his hands hovered by his sides, like he was debating whether to reach for you.
you took the leap first, stepping into him and pressing your lips to his. the kiss was simple but real, like a question and an answer all at once. he exhaled against your mouth, almost a sigh of relief, and his hands found your waist, pulling you closer, like he’d been waiting for this as long as you had.
when you pulled back, the tension melted away, replaced by something softer, almost gentle. he rested his forehead against yours, letting out a quiet laugh, almost like he couldn’t believe this was happening. “i’ve wanted this for so long,” he whispered.
you smiled, feeling the weight of everything you’d been carrying start to lift. “me too,” you admitted. “but no more excuses, okay?”
he nodded, his thumb brushing against your cheek. “no more excuses,” he promised.
and with that, you kissed him again, letting yourself fall into it.
trusting that this time, you’d both make it count.

Luffy
he's not someone who likes to expect things from anything, let alone anyone.
but he gets really amused easily.
(luffy is a big yolo person, and it shows)
he is naturally protective of his crew though, and that includes you.
but at the same time, he trusts that everyone is capable of fighting and surviving on their own, so he doesn't think much of your capabilities. he just knows that you're strong.
you had just recently joined the crew and you're figuring out how you can help.
you help with franky and usopp with the ship's repairs.
then you tend to the plants with robin.
then you help sanji cook lots of meals (because luffy eats like a monster)
and then you asked nami if you can clean the study room for her so she can make maps comfortably.
and after all that, you joined zoro to workout with him.
for a normal person, doing all these things would exhaust one at the end of the day, but in your case, you seem to never run out of energy.
the crew is thankful for your help, but what they didn't realize is that you never run out of stamina to just do things.
until luffy points out how restless you are.
"hey, don't you ever get tired?"
you were about to answer him when you noticed the presence of a few marine ships at your tail.
the crew panicked and prepared to change course.
when they fired cannonballs, you immediately caught each and every one of them and threw them back at the ships, causing a simultaneous explosion.
there was one cannonball that you almost missed, so you were quick to grab it.
imagine luffy's surprise when you crushed it with your bare hand before it exploded.
everyone pretty much had their jaws on the floor.
luffy practically had sparkling eyes asking you how you did it.
"wow, i never knew you could do that!"
"what other things can you break with one hand?"
"here, can you break this huge weight?"
you were confused, but you obliged, breaking the weight in half.
"so cool!!"
since then he would start attacking you out of nowhere, trying to catch you off guard.
well that never happened, so one day he'll mope about it.
"hey, seriously, what's your secret?" he asks, poking your cheek.
"there is no secret." you laugh. "i just like to train my body."
"well, that's boring." he complains.
after a while though, he smiles at you.
"i honestly thought you look weak. but you're strong, so keep it up!" he said, pointing his thumbs up.
you didn't know whether to laugh or feel offended, but you took it as a compliment.
it feels good to feel needed by your friends.
Sanji
sanji thinks you're the most vulnerable person in the crew.
he doesn't mean to be condescending or anything.
but you just seem so… bland.
and it's not that he thinks you're so weak to the point that you can't defend yourself. part of him just assumes that you're average when it comes to strength and the other wants to protect you because you're a girl and you're pretty.
one day though, you're docked at an island to stock up on supplies and you forgot to tell the crew that you're going shopping by yourself.
sanji panics. what if something bad will happen to you?
something did happen to you.
you almost got robbed.
and sanji saw you manhandle the robber in a flash, and the next thing he knew, you were pointing a dagger to the robber's eyes.
it was so close and he can feel you wanting to gouge them out.
sanji hid himself for a moment, observing how you fight against the enemies.
you were practically raging, beating them up even if though they're already helpless.
one would try to beg for your mercy but you're pissed off. so you punched them hard in the face, knocking them unconscious.
sanji quietly had a nosebleed.
you were just so?? hot??
i mean you already are beautiful in his eyes but something about you being this strong turns him on surprised the shit out of him.
after you're done, you turned towards sanji, going back to your normal self.
"sanji! i didn't notice you were there."
"oh, i love it when you're violent and sadistic y/n-swann!"
he'll practically throw himself at you, showering you with compliments and following you around like a dog.
"forgive me for saying this, but i didn't realize you were that strong." he'll say.
"well, now you know!" you smiled at him.
instantly had heart eyes
"you are my beloved strong woman! woof!"
ever since then, he'll be even more batshit crazy about you.
every time you display your strength in front of him and the crew, it will take every bit of his will power not to pass out.
Zoro
this man…
he doesn't look like it, but he's very good at reading people
he got it after years of travelling on his own as a pirate bounty hunter
he may not have a good sense of direction, but what he's good at is sensing the strength of his opponents.
given that he's in a fight with one.
it's something he honed over time, so that he can create his own strategies when in battle.
like luffy, he knows that you're strong, and you work well in a team or on your own.
what he doesn't know (or at least he isn't aware of) is the lengths your strength can reach.
he has a gut feeling that you never went all out in your time as a member of the strawhat crew. (he's right)
so his competitive ass decides to test you through a spar.
you get fired up by the idea, since you've been wanting to train with zoro for a while now.
"ready? i won't go easy."
what a cocky bastard tbh.
you're very focused on him.
you're literally the definition of "lock on" every time you fight.
after you took weapon of your choice, you began to spar.
since you're on the deck of the sunny, you were both careful not to use complicated techniques to avoid destroying the ship. but you both still gave your all, unwilling to show any blind spots to one another.
chopper admired both of you on the sidelines, and the clashing of your weapons were heard by everyone on the ship.
"hey, moss head! what do you think you're doing-" sanji tries to interrupt.
then you landed a blow to make zoro lose his grip on his swords.
you ended up on top of him, and you pointed the back of your weapon on his chest.
he expected this so he wasn't surprised.
he found it amusing even.
"knew you were hiding something." he chuckled, uncharacteristically admitting defeat.
"but i'm not! i guess i got a little ahead of myself. sorry." you say, looking away from him, a little flustered.
"what are you sorry for? your strength? you know that's a pretty useless thing to apologize for." he replied.
since that day, he respected you more, and you would train together.
heck, when you're on an island, you'll find spacious and uninhabited places where you can spar with him to go all out.
it almost always ends in a draw.
zoro would go easy on you on the ship because you both know that it's not ideal to fully use your powers.
so the times where you can both give your all, you both make the most of it.
he teaches you how to use swords, and if you already know how, he'll teach you some of his techniques.
much to your happiness.
"you're pretty good, honestly. you can easily catch your enemies off guard with how you look." he admits to you one time.
"that's kind of offensive. but i'll take it!" you laugh.

Last question before I once again leave you to rest and recuperate for the rest of the hiatus.
Do you know color theory by any chance?
(And if so, can you teach me some techniques…? /nf)
Your most recently posted piece is so amazing that I can’t even put it into words. It’s cool how you can switch between styles like that. However, I hope you’re taking of yourself in the process!
If there’s anything to learn from the anon attacks, it’s that even though some people unfortunately don’t see it, being an online influencer of any sort is more of a sacrifice than it looks, and it can the tiring to the creator when others don’t understand. Im not half as popular as you are and I too am starting to feel the effects of posting almost everyday for the sake of the fans.
You’re probably the first online artist I’ve been a BIG FAN of. Not just because of your AU, but because now I’m know I’m not the only easily anxious artist out there. You’ve really inspired me, and lots of other people too, but to keep up the good work, you have to make sure you’re also okay.
Take care!
- The Kogetai Kiddo.
I know some color theory in terms of creating designs. For painting, not so much. It's a pretty complicated subject to explain, so that might take quite a bit to get into...
And no worries, I am taking care of myself and take plenty of breaks in between when I'm getting too frustrated. As for the style thing; I like to try different things once in a while to prevent stagnation. I can switch between styles thanks to practice, but changing mediums does take some getting used to. Digital painting is not exactly something I'm that good at because I don't do it that often. It takes a lot of time and energy. But it's a good challenge.
Honestly, I don't want to be titled as an "influencer" or "content creator". I'm just some person who likes sharing their work and comics that people seem to like them a lot. I'm no authority figure and I don't like seeing myself as something greater than others just because of some numbers. Numbers don't mean anything. It's the person that matters. I just wanna make art, and if it happens to make people happy, I'm happy too. Still anxiety and internal pressure can make things hard. There IS that underlying feeling of having to perform and do well. Because those are your own standards. In the end, you are your own worst critic. Anxiety is the worst, and it's an endless struggle against it. But it's possible to live with it. At some point, taking a step back and realizing you need a break is the right call.
Hoping the best for you and all the other anxious artists out there!
And with that'll be off on my last few days of break. Asks are closed now. See you back on Sunday!
(Little teaser from the next page for good measure)

The four horseman.
I have thoughts so here's a rant:
Normal is conquest/i think its illnes or something (its zaraza so plauge where i'm from) because the Oaks brought the doodler about (plus he's the one that brought it to heaven with willy so started the apocalypse), plauge cause the Oaks also have the doodler in their blood and its an "infection" (he's also the stinkiest lol). He has the black eyes he got after seeing what the doodler wants, the purple in his eye is for love and hate, and the blue is there cause that's his signature color and again love. The crown is made of tentacles and also have the eyes (red to symbolize hate and the rage the Oaks carry). I tried to potray him slightly Jesus and Mary like (its so wierd writing that in english), and of course he has the white cloak (i did not draw horses because im bad at drawing horses and i didnt want this to take half a year to make). He and Scary are the ones turned straight to the camera because they are the ones that are the most important doodler wise. Also them being white and black paralleal.
Taylor is war because well i just thought it fit him best, (also he gets the sword then), and i made him look demonic. I dont have much to say about him unfortunetly because this was honestly a struggle. He does parallel with link though in their demon and angel designs.
Link is famine, i feel like hes the one to give up the most, hes been denied his sustanance (love) and as the series progresses he gets more nihilistic because of that and gives up, i feel like famine fits that. He also gets the scales because hes a judge (he condemned his father and he forgiven Scary) and because of the goddess of fairness. Like everyone he gets the eye treatment (i love eye motifs what can i say, also please notice how everyones eyes are diffrent cause that was also a struggle) but i also incorporated the angel motif (yes every link i draw in an au has to get the angel motif i just like angels and well he is a protector and is trying to be good, but then "falls" (cause many deaths) and becomes jaded) the angel thing is also there because he has spent a lot of time in heaven (and he has that generational catholic quilt ya know). The eyes are orange and yellow because that's the colors i usually give him but also because the're golden and sun like.
And of course our seeker of darkness-Scary as death. I contenplated making Link death and her war but i finally didnt. She is partially inspired by that one painting of Mary staring into the viewer as shes holding the corpse of Christ (maybe its silly but my little dramatic heart thinks of Scary summoning the doodler and Marys story to be similar, and just a pretty cool concept you know), and partially just death depictions. She was the first one i finished and probablly still my favorite. She of course has the most purple (i thought about making everyone purple to fit the backround but that would have been a hassle). The whites in her eyes are a nod to the doodler summoning again.
Oh and of course the backround, it has tentacles for thr doodler and doves for innocence because idk if you noticed yet but i am obsessed with religious symbols and also because i think the teens are just teens and they are not quite to blame (and neither is the doodler)
#dndads#dungeons and daddies#my art#normal oak#link li wilson#taylor swift dndads#dndads spoilers#scary marlowe#trypophobia#cw fire#cw eye contact#cw eye horror#cw bones#cw body horror#hope that's all the tags i need#can you tell im wierd about religion but not quite religious?#christianity is inreadibly intresting but im not hyper religious#still not quite happy with all of this but it also looks sick and i love it#cw tentacles#tw eye horror

Howdy just wanted to let you know how much I love your fantasy AI and how cute the designs are!
Assuming you meant Fantasy AU haha- Thank you! Ive admittedly been playing with their design a little in the background (And it hink I posted some sketches before? though im unsure if I tagged them) since some of them looked. a little too human ((sorry archie i LOVE selkies but untransformed it truly is just a fur coat. which. isnt great for a more tropical setting)) but the core of it has never changed lol I love modern fantasy
The designs are half inspired by Pokémon now, though not tooooo intensly.
Max is still mosty faun, but leant a little more into full furry for him I guess. Cope old man.
Archie has been changed from selkie which HORTS but alas i lacked the skills to draw him cool. He's just a general mercreature now. He has legs but he's half fish in design he can breathe underwater. You get it
Others I've had thoughts on:
May gets to be torchic in harpy form. She's a rare case, as she can naturally do some magic! She can Breathe Fire. Very fun for her parents. She can't fly, but she can kind of flutter- which is great for parkouring around! Active kid. Due to lacking arms/hands she uses her legs/talons for most things instead
I want Courtney to be Meowstic inspired, probably with some/devil/demon inspo for the monster part? But I admittedly haven't thought of a design Im happy with yet. She also has some natural magic! Again, not supposed to be very common. She can levitate stuff and throw around psychic shockwaves if she's mad. She tried studying to be a witch for a little while, but she didn't really like it.
Lisia is Mostly Just Regular Lisia except the cloud fluff on her outfit is part of her lol. She's a combination of Swablu inspired and a full on wind spirit. She looks normal most of the time but if a strong wind catches on her physical form literally temporarily blows away into clouds. She can control the condensation in the air around her- which is almost entirely useless, except she can use it to create rainbows behind her. Great idol trick
Zinnia gets some fun dragon traits, and also lives up to her Lorekeeper title. While there's plenty of common spells written down and going around, Zinnia has access to and protects a lot of more powerfull forgotten stuff. Most imporantly Delta Magic, which... Functions via Totally Not Mega Stones, and allows the user unlimited access to type magic for as long as it's active. It's pretty draining, but it's the only time that actual world changing magic can be made to happen, rather then more mundane or minor stuff
#ribbon answers#fantasy au#the great big fantasy au revamp i guess#i like worldbuilding so this all happened a while back thinkng about the worldbuilding lol#still not at a place im happy with it so i might change it Even More#but i just like the idea of modern fantasy. mermaid but she runs a hairsalon in town and does your hair while chillin in an open aquarium#behidn the stool is like. the most fun concept imaginable to me#this world is literally just meant ot be that LOL#but yea. started incoorporating a bit of pokemon in the designs for funsies. and also to make veryone more noticeably not human#some are still more human then others#and theyre all kind of meant to be based on a pokemon but also a creature or monster#so its not one or the other. its mostly supposed to be both

Never in his life, did Lee Minho ever think he’d wake up beside Lee Felix.
But that’s exactly what he found himself doing the next morning.
The morning after everything had crumbled apart and they had shared half of their feelings and felt each other in the deepest of ways and passions.
Turning onto his side, Minho reached out and ghosted a few fingers against Felix’s freckled cheek. His skin was warm to the touch, his presence in Minho’s bed sending a comforting aura across the entire room.
Then, Felix was stirring. The early morning rays were shining down on them through the nearby window, hitting Minho’s back and cascading across the younger man’s face. It highlighted his sharp cheekbones, his puffy lips that were still a little swollen. Eyes skirting down just a tiny bit, Minho noticed the way Felix’s bare collarbone and shoulders peeked out from underneath the covers, glimmering in the sunlight.
He looked like a real-life faerie. Like a tiny sprite that had just creeped out of the woods the night before, slipping into Minho’s bed and keeping him warm for as long as he wished.
“Mornin’.” A low, gravelly voice broke through the serene quiet of the bedroom. The contrast of his dark tone compared to his ethereal features thew Minho for a loop, as his eyes locked onto Felix’s.
Hands reaching out, Minho grabbed at the younger’s bare skin. Until he had a hand on his waist and the other woven in his messy blonde tresses. “Morning, princess,” Minho whispered, yanking Felix close and planting a few messy kisses to his lips. Felix let out a tiny giggle, hiding his growing blush in the crook of Minho’s neck. “Sleep well, my pretty princess?”
“Stop calling me that…” Felix whined out, shifting in Minho’s hold as he carded his small fingers through dark locks.
Skirting one of his hands across Felix’s skin, he traced the grooves of his spine, circling the middle of his back before continuing to go south. Soon, Minho’s fingers were sinking into the flesh of the blonde’s ass, squeezing there by the tiniest bit as he spoke. “Why? Does it make you… feel good?” Muttering against Felix’s ear, Minho bared his teeth and scraped them against the younger’s earlobe.
That earned a strangled groan from Felix, and Minho could feel him growing hotter by the second. His temperature rising at Minho’s actions and words. So Minho did the only thing he felt like doing in that moment - reaching down with his other hand, past the thick comforter and sheet, and firmly taking ahold of Felix’s ass.
“H-hng…” Was the only thing that slipped from Felix’s lips in reply to Minho’s earlier question. He moved against Minho, squirming on his side as the older’s nails made half-crescent shapes into the flesh of his asscheeks.
“What was that, princess? You’ll have to speak up, daddy can’t hear you that well…” Minho said, tone lilting and playful. Unmistakably, the air in the room had shifted. To something with much more weight to it— heated, and insatiable.
Felix was rising from his spot beside Minho abruptly, towering over his form with a furrowed brow and an annoyed light in his eyes. But the quivering of his bottom lip didn’t go unnoticed by Minho, neither did the furious blush that dusted across his freckles.
“M-Makes me horny, okay?!” Felix exclaimed in a rather loud outburst, ripping his hands away from Minho’s hair. Then, he was placing his warm palms against Minho’s shoulders, using the body underneath him for better purchase.
One of Minho’s hands left Felix’s ass after that, reaching up to the younger’s face. Tracing gentle fingers against his warm cheek, before curving under his jaw, Minho watched in astute pleasure as Felix all but melted into his touch. “Of course it does… because you love looking pretty, hmm? You love making people talk with your bold outfits- with your slutty booty shorts and sparkly tube tops.”
“Do you think I’m pretty in those things?” Felix asked, failing to meet Minho’s gaze and instead focus on his chest. His small fingers drew aimless shapes against Minho’s skin, forcing gooseflesh the surface of the elder’s entire body.
Minho could feel something break and dissolve in the pit of his heart— at the thought of Felix dressing in such things for his attention only. “Oh princess— every time you wear those kinds of things, I—” But he cut himself off at the last moment, deciding to hold himself back.
Jeongin’s words from earlier came into the forefront of his mind then, the long text string that he had been sent in relation to Felix’s childhood after Minho had left flooded all of his thoughts again.
Because there he was— there Felix was, practically straddling his waist, completely bare of clothing. Looking down at him with such a pitiful expression on his face. Asking— begging, silently, for Minho to speak his mind.
But all Minho could think about in that moment was that they still had so much to talk about — and Felix had no idea that he knew.
“Tell me. Please— tell me, Min.” Felix whispered, leaning into him then and pressing a few light pecks onto his lips. He was trying to coax the words out of Minho, but the older man wasn’t budging. “You can dress me up, if you want… I’ll be your pretty doll. I can be anything you want and I—”
Felix’s words made Minho freeze up completely.
I’ll be your pretty doll.
I can be anything you want.
And it just… it didn’t feel quite right.
The things Felix was saying to him in the early morning light had a different tone to them than they had in the throngs of twilight.
Like, as soon as daylight appeared, the Lee Felix from the night before was wiped away. And what was left was… a shell of the man Minho had fallen asleep next to.
Instead, this Felix was begging for him—
Begging in a way that left a sour taste in Minho’s mouth,
That made his heart clench in pain,
That made his mind spin with millions of different doubts.
“Felix, stop. Stop, baby.”
He had to say it twice, cutting through the mindless void Felix had seemed to fall into so quickly.
Subspace,
That’s what Chris had called it once. When divulging Minho in some of his one-night stands with girls around town.
Felix was in subspace, and Minho was afraid he had put the blonde there.
Feeling like he was a spectator looking on at the scene, like he was currently breathing outside of his body, Minho’s hands moved up Felix’s sides. Then he was moving their positions, until Felix’s head was back on the pillow and Minho was standing up from the bed.
“Wha— did I do something wrong?” Felix slurred his words only slightly. Like he was drunk off of grape soju. But Minho knew he was completely sober in that moment. Just that… he was still slipping into subspace, and that Minho would have to be a lot more careful about their dynamic from then-on. With the nicknames, too. As princess evidently triggered something deep seated in Felix’s mind.
Minho hastily pulled his legs through a pair of black sweatpants, before he was leaning over the bed and brushing a few gentle fingers through Felix’s hair. “Baby, no. You did nothing wrong… it’s just that— we need to talk. Before we go any further.”
Felix sat up in bed after that, resting his back against the headboard as his eyes fixed on Minho’s body. “Okay… what do you wanna talk about?” He was still speaking slowly, but Minho could tell he was beginning to come out of… the space. Thank God Minho hadn’t pushed any further while in bed, otherwise he was afraid Felix wouldn’t be able to pull himself up again.
“Chris will probably be home soon. I think it’d be best if you were back at your place and he didn’t find his little brother naked in his best friend’s bed,” Minho said, throwing his phone onto his nearby desk and fitting a shirt over his head. “Besides, after everything that’s happened in the last few days… I don’t wanna put him through anything else.”
“That can’t possibly be what you wanted to talk about.”
Felix was a lot more intuitive than Minho gave him credit for. A lot more. Perhaps the younger man could read his face a little too well— how his brow was furrowed the tiniest bit and the corners of his mouth were dipped towards the floor.
But one look at Felix in his bed, bare chest completely exposed as he rested against the mountain of pillows. Blonde hair messy and cheeks still rosy from the night before, dark brown eyes glossed over by the tiniest of bits…
And Minho didn’t have the heart to break the perfect, quiet bubble they were still in.
“It doesn’t matter, forget I said anything,” Minho said, running a frustrated hand through his hair. And so suddenly, he felt like he was about to suffocate under Felix’s gaze there in the bedroom. So he made for his bathroom, deciding to brush his teeth and wash his face before having to brave the outside world again.
There was silence for a few moments, but Minho could hear the bed creaking and movement just beyond the bathroom door. Then, like a beautiful phantom ghosting his presence once more, Felix was standing in the doorway of the bathroom, boxers now covering at least part of him. “But it does matter, because you matter to me.” His words came out soft and light, and Minho could feel the younger’s eyes on him as he finished washing his face with his green tea foam cleanser.
Minho said nothing to that, instead focusing on drying off his face with a towel. But Felix was unavoidable, it would seem. Since he was blocking the doorway out. Eyes sliding across the bathroom to meet Felix’s, Minho tilted his head and offered him a deep sigh. “I just— I don’t wanna hurt you anymore than I already have.”
“You could never hurt me, not again.”
“No, that’s where you’re wrong. Because I definitely will. Again, and again.” At that, he managed to slip out of the bathroom, striding across his bedroom floor.
“I don’t fucking care, Minho. Hurt me all you want, but I’ll never stop loving you. Never. I want no one else in this world to hurt me but you.”
Minho stopped his pacing across his bedroom, staring back at Felix who was now perched at the edge of his bed. “You have to know that it wasn’t by my own volition. I never asked to be aware of it.” Minho started, as he began his pacing once more. Each one of his movements was tracked by keen eyes, like a cat watching its owner prowl around the world.
Felix stayed quiet, allowing Minho to collect his jumbled thoughts. The older man could feel his heart beating his chest in that moment, thumping against his ribcage. It hurt to breath out, his nostrils felt like they were on fire and his throat constricted with the lump that was steadily growing against his tongue.
“Jeongin told me.”
For a moment, nothing happened. But Minho stopped his manic walking, turning around to face Felix once more. He was halfway across the bedroom, watching for anything to register on the younger’s face.
“Okay… and what exactly did he tell you?” Felix asked, raising a dark, quizzical eyebrow in the wake of Minho’s words.
Fists clenching at his side, Minho almost didn’t have the heart to tell him. To tell this small, beautiful being sitting on his bed that he knew all the sins committed against him previously. To tell him that he knew— about all the hurt and abuse and violence. Even still, Minho couldn’t bring himself to hold it back any longer. Knowing it all had been killing him silently for long enough.
“He told me about— you, Felix. About everything that happened after I left for college during your high school years.”
Immediately, that’s all it took.
All it took, for the life to completely drain out of Lee Felix.
In an instant, he was no longer a stunning, otherworldly faerie sitting atop a plush bed.
Instead, he was a ghostly shell of a person - bleached of all color, like a black-and-white painting on canvas.
Nothing happened for what felt like a millennium. Time seemed to stop, as Minho watched the Felix before him break down. Outer wall crumbling brick by brick, shoulders drooping and face draining of all semblance of life.
Suddenly, he looked so tired.
So, so fucking tired.
“Why would he tell you…” Felix whispered in a low tone, shaking his head slowly. His limbs were beginning to shake, as his fingers clenched tightly into fists. Then his gaze was locking onto Minho’s, and the older man could see the rage boiling just beneath the surface there. “Why the fuck would he tell you?!”
The scream came out in a guttural, heart-breaking kind of way. Minho didn’t know what to do just then - he was frozen in his place, watching as all the emotions rippled and cascaded through the man sitting before him.
Felix was rising up from the bed in the next instant, beginning to tear across the room for his clothes that had been tossed aside the night before. The entire time, he was muttering things under his breath, heaving strangled breaths in his anger. “This is complete bullshit! After all the shit I did for him— he stabbed me in the fucking back!” Somehow, he was able to find his purple tracksuit and shove him limbs into the fabric. “I swear to god I’m going to fucking kill him!”
The pure venom in Felix’s voice sent a shiver down Minho’s spine. He had never seen him so full of rage - so vengeful, even despite all of the bad arguments they had had in the past. Minho feared this was unlike anything Felix had ever experienced before… and the older man did the only thing he knew in that exact moment.
“Felix, please— he was just doing it to protect you. He knew you’d never tell me.” Minho started, making his way over to Felix and grabbing ahold of his arm to stop him from fleeing the bedroom entirely.
Felix stared up at him with a dark look under his eyes, the rosiness in his cheeks completely gone and instead replaced with a shadowy haze. “Protect me… protect me!” Felix shouted, laughing incredulously. But Minho knew nothing was directed at him. The younger man was just upset, and he didn’t know how to express himself properly. “It’s my life. It’s my fucking story to tell, no one else’s!” Felix turned to face Minho finally, poking a finger into his chest with each of his words.
“I know, and I’m sorry he did that. He should’ve gotten permission first. He wasn’t thinking right, he was drunk and—”
“I didn’t want you to ever know, don’t you see?!” Felix suddenly cried in an outburst. In an instant, his small fingers were gripping onto the collar of Minho’s shirt, clawing at it for dear life. Like if he held on long enough, the nightmare would end and he’d wake up and realize it was all a murky dream. “But now- oh God, you know… oh God, you know and you hate me and—”
He was crumpling after that, entire body convulsing with the tremors of anger and hurt that coursed through his veins. Minho grabbed onto him so tight, he feared if he squeezed the blonde’s sides any stronger he’d break ribs. Instead, he sunk down to the floor with Felix, holding him as close as he possibly could.
And Minho didn’t know what to do — he was frozen again, in that odd limbo space between wanting to cry, but not being able to.
Felix’s sobs wracked through his entire form, ripping out of his mouth in the most blood-curdling kind of sounds.
“Lix- I don’t hate you, I don’t… how could I ever hate you?” Minho started in a quiet voice, hoping beyond all hopes that Felix could hear him over all the crying and heartache. “It’s not your fault, Lixie… it’s not. It never was. You were a child, it’s never a child’s fault.”
At that, Felix was yanking away from his chest. His cheeks were still bleached of all color, but now icy tears were trailing down his skin. They clouded his eyes, making his bottom lip quiver and his brow crease. “But God— you do! You think I’m the one that led things on… you think it’s the same reason why I got mixed up with that stranger at the club and—” His cries were so guttural, Minho could feel each and every one of his words punch through his chest like knifes to thick muscle.
Tearing at flesh and sinew and bone.
Minho felt like he was nothing more put a pile of useless limbs, clinging onto a shell of a boy he had once known - that he still loved.
Even still, he had the mind to press Felix for answers, “Is that true, Lix? Is that why you allowed that man to defile you so much?” He was talking about the man at the club, that much they both knew.
“If I told you the answer you’d abandon me,” Felix wailed, voice cracking in between his tears. Pressing this forehead into the center of Minho’s chest, the wetness cascading down his cheeks began to dampen the older man’s shirt. But in that moment, Minho couldn’t give a damn about such frivolous things. “You’d throw me in a hospital— in a physic ward. Just like they tried to do all those years ago.”
“Felix.” Minho said, stern voice trying to cut through the murky depths that Felix was drowning in. And when he didn’t rouse at the sound of his name, Minho reached out and wrapped his hands behind the blonde’s neck. Soon, he was cupping Felix’s wet cheeks and guiding his focus back onto him. “Felix, listen to me. I’d never do such a thing to you, never. I never wanna do anything that will hurt you.”
Then Felix was wiping furiously at his cheeks, the hiccups vibrating across his shoulders as he shook his head in a manic kind of way. “I didn’t know, Min. I swear, I didn’t— I thought he was safe and I wanted to get my mind off of you and I’m sorry and—”
But Minho didn’t have the heart to ask who he was talking about. Because he already knew the answer to the question — both men that Felix had gotten mixed up with, during high school and only just recently — had been an escape from real life. Had been a means to an end, to fend off all the thoughts Felix had of… Minho.
That was the hardest thing for Minho to come to terms with.
The fact that, had he been around - had he been by Felix’s side, and loved him the way he was supposed to and needed to, things wouldn’t have turned out so horribly.
Fate was a weird thing, though.
The Gods living high above in the skies were cruel, in some ways.
For looking down at Felix during so much turmoil and allowing it to happen. Allowing the two of them to be separated, knowing that— if they had been together, none of it would have happened in the first place.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there, all those years ago. I’m sorry I didn’t love you right and that you got mixed up in those situations because of me…” Minho started, his mouth close to Felix’s ear. He was whispering, rocking the both of them back and forth to try and calm the younger male. He could tell it was working, too. By the way that Felix was melting into his grasp, the hands around his waist growing a little slack. “I want to kill them, trust me— I really fucking do. But I’m not about to end streaks of violence with even more of it. So instead, I’m going to protect you with my life, from now on. I don’t give a fuck what anyone else says or thinks about it— about us or our relationship. It’s none of their concern. You’re never getting rid of me, and I swear on my entire family’s grave that I’ll always be by your side, no matter what.”
There was silence after that.
For a long time, nothing was said between the two men. Instead, they just held onto each other for dear life. Almost like, if they separated for even a second- the precious moment would break and they’d go right back to being strangers again.
Minho had the mind to check the clock that was on the nearby nightstand. It was close to noon. Chris would be home soon, and the last thing Minho wanted right then was for his best friend to walk in on them. He’d question things immediately, and Minho was too mentally spent to talk it all out. Explain their relationship and why Felix was having a literal mental breakdown in his arms.
Finally, after Felix had stopped crying and his shoulders stopped shaking, he was rousing in Minho’s arms. Until he was leaning his head against the older’s shoulder, staring up at him with wide, puffy eyes.
Like a helpless little woodland faerie, innocent against all the sins of men in the world.
And Minho wanted to do everything in his power to protect such pure, raw beauty.
“What do you need from me right now, Pixie?” Minho asked in a gentle voice, one that was so quiet, only Felix would ever be able to hear. He used the nickname that he had given the blonde when they were living back in Busan. Growing up together, hanging from the bows of trees and frolicking on the beach. He stared down at the boy, thumb ghosting against his pale cheek as he studied the emotions swimming in Felix’s eyes. “Tell me what you want, pretty. And I’ll do anything.”
“Kiss me. Please.”
Minho needed no further instruction. As he dipped his head down, capturing Felix’s lips up into a soft kiss. Their mouths pressed together in an ethereal kind of way. They were a perfect fit, practically made for each other.
Minho’s lips drawled away from Felix’s after a few moments, littering soft kisses across his face - his cheeks, his nose, his forehead. “You’re so good, Felix… too good for me. I promise— I’ll be with you through all of life’s ups and downs,” Then he was catching Felix’s gaze, and seeing the sincerity of the words register in the younger man’s mind. “I’ll kiss you as long as you want. Kiss it better, kiss all the pain and sorrow away. Kiss you until you’re sick of it.”
Then he was capturing Felix’s lips against his again, this time with a little more force. This time, their teeth clashed together. This time, Felix let out a strangled gasp as Minho poked his tongue out, trailing the line of his lips with it. This time, Felix’s jaw slacked and allowed Minho’s tongue entrance. This time, they got a taste of each other. Just like the night before.
And soon, without even realizing what was going on, Felix was already crawling on top of Minho. Situating himself into the elder’s lap, as his fingers grasped at dark locks. As Minho’s tongue pulled moan after soft moan out from deep inside of Felix.
Before they could go any further, be any more reckless and emotional than they already were - and it was still the morning time - Minho’s hands found their way to the nape of Felix’s neck. He was pulling them apart then, a messy string of saliva parting from both of their lips. Felix gave him a pout, and the frown he had made him look so much cuter than he already was. Made the tent growing in Minho’s pants get a little stiffer.
“We need to stop, Lixie. Chris is gonna be home any second now.”
“But why?” Felix whined out, bouncing up and down a few times in his protest.
The bouncing of his thighs wasn’t doing Minho’s current horny state any good, so he made to grab ahold of his hips to stop Felix’s movements. “Because— I don’t want this to be the way he finds out about us. I wanna tell him in a clear state of mind and not when I’m really fucking horny.”
At the last of his words, Felix’s gaze caught with Minho’s again. A wicked smile spread across his lips, and he was turning into the exact replica of a Cheshire Cat. Tucking a few strands of hair behind Minho’s ear, Felix leaned away from him only slightly to survey his current state. Rumpled clothes, curly black hair that was wiry from stress, and a crazed look in his eye, no doubt about it.
“Oh… so you’re horny, huh?” Felix started, voice deep and wavering as he pulled a little bit on Minho’s locks.
For a second, the older man’s eyes rolled into the back of his skull. Completely involuntary, it would seem. “Yes, and I really wanna finger your pretty little hole and stuff you with my cock until you’re crying for me to stop. But I can’t do that right now, so that shit will have to wait.” He said, giving Felix a deadpan look as he grabbed ahold of his wrists and yanked them out of his hair.
Tilting his head to the side, Felix’s eyes trailed down the length of Minho’s body. Until they stopped at his middle, where their bodies were barely touching. Still, the tent in Minho’s pants was clearly visible. “Then, I guess you don’t wanna hear what I wanna do to you… that’s too bad…” He was hoisting himself up from Minho’s lap entirely after that, staring down at him with a shadowy kind of remorse.
“No, no— tell me.”
Minho didn’t even know why he was playing into Felix’s hand. It was a dangerous game, that much he knew. And he also knew that his best friend would be home any second. It was a miracle he hadn’t already walked into Minho’s bedroom yet, what with it being so late in the morning.
“Nah— I don’t wanna make you any hornier than you already are…” Felix started, turning his back on Minho. And then he was reaching over the bed to grab his things that were still on the nightstand. His phone and his wallet and—
All Minho could think about was how adorable he looked right then—
Ass sticking out in the open,
Practically begging to be spanked.
He was teasing Minho, and the older man wasn’t gonna stand by the wayside and take it any longer.
So he did exactly what Felix was silently asking for.
In the blink of an eye, he was standing up and was right behind Felix, spanking him so hard his palm came away from Felix’s purple sweatpants hot to the touch.
Felix was whirling on him soon after, face red as a beet as he clutched his things close to his chest. “Hey! That was very uncalled for, sir.”
“Don’t act like you weren’t asking for it, princess.” Minho smirked, staring down at the blonde with a triumphant stance. Hands on his hips, he watched as Felix’s eyes blazed with the insinuation. A certain kind of heaviness was filling the bedroom again, weighing down on either of their shoulders.
It was suffocating Minho, in the best of ways.
“Well there’s lots of things I actually want, which I can’t ask for because of— obvious reasons,” Felix’s eyes flit around the room. Like he was a nervous deer, caught in the headlights of a hunter. “And don’t call me princess!”
Minho was inching closer to him then, watching the pretty line of his lips and how pink they were. And how good they’d look wrapped around his co- “What kinda things do you want, hmm— princess?”
Felix gazed up at him, now that they were just a mere hairsbreadth away from each other. Reaching up, he brought Minho close to his lips, his mouth hovering over his but not kissing him. “I wanna litter pretty purple and red marks across your neck— wanna choke on your cock and make it messy… wanna swallow your cum and then get on top of it and ride your sensitive flesh until you come again.”
Minho was silent after that, squeezing his eyes shut for a brief moment. Fighting off all the demons that wanted to take over him — fighting the urge to throw Felix down onto the bed right there in that moment, and rip those pretty screams out of his mouth as he creams against Minho’s cock.
Instead, he was leaning back from Felix. Motioning to the door with his head, his lips pulled up into a sardonic kind of grin. “Get out right now— before we both ruin our relationships with Chris.”
“Oh, so you’re gonna kick your boyfriend out of your dorm?”
“No, I’m telling you to leave. For the good of everyone.”
But Felix knew better, that was for sure. Because already, he was moving to the door and stepping through the threshold. Minho was hot on his tail, following him through the kitchen and to the front door.
“Will I see you again sometime today at least?” The blonde asked, as he stopped in the doorway. Peering up at Minho with sparkly, imploring eyes. He was going to be the absolute downfall of Lee Minho.
“I have a final exam to study for. I’ll be at the library later tonight.”
“It’s open past midnight right?”
“Til’ two in the morning I think.”
Leaning up towards Minho, Felix placed a light peck on his cheek. “Guess I’ll see you around then.”
But before he could pull away again, Minho was reaching out. Arm snaking around his small waist, Minho pulled the younger boy closer to him. Craning his neck downward, he swiped his tongue against Felix’s bottom lip, before kissing him with all the passion and fire that was thrumming through his veins.
The kiss didn’t last for more than five seconds, but to Minho, it felt like a whole lifetime passed. And that nothing else mattered, besides the otherworldly boy that he was kissing in the doorway of his dorm. When they pulled apart from each other, Felix’s cheeks were flushed and his shoulders were heaving again.
“Get home safely, Felix. Text me when you arrive,” Minho said, as Felix was finally leaving his presence and beginning to turn towards the common ground that surrounded all the senior’s dormitory complex. But he hadn’t let go of Minho’s hand yet, and was still holding onto it for dear life. “I love you, my pretty princess.”
Felix froze in his place then, turning his head back to give Minho a whisper of a grin. Then he was squeezing his fingers, “I love you more, Minnie.” And with that, he was on his way. They were parting and Minho was watching him trek across the damp ground.
He didn’t close the door until Felix was completely out of sight. And as soon as it was locked, he leaned his back against the wooden frame. The hardness between his legs was the first thing he registered in the wake of Felix’s absence. Staring down at the tent in his sweatpants, Minho let out a dark chuckle. Shaking his head incredulously, he muttered to himself as he filed into the kitchen to start on a quick brunch. “Lee Felix, you will be the absolute death of me.”

heya! i just rewatched your sc2020 video…again… and then found out you're on tumblr and, of course, immediately went to look if you've posted anything about sj aswell and found that post from *checks notes* 1.5 months ago - so, i guess what im here to ask is, would you mind elaborating on that?
im unfamiliar with marble blast (im so sorry i do not have the brainpower to watch your essay on that...yet) so the comparison you make is not particularly useful to me :v
also for context, i did contribute to sj, specifically playtesting and programming, so i do have Opinions™ (that im gonna keep to myself due to lack of anon ask (not a bad thing! i understand why you have it off)) and i wonder if those happen to bleed through to the player experience or if your gripes with it are something different entirely.
well, firstly, i have developed such a deep seated hatred of the celeste community that i haven't opened the game in months and i've considered just deleting my spring collab video multiple times, I'm not finishing any more of my maps because I don't want to make anything for these people. so i didn't actually finish SJ, I did everything up to & including the easy half of the grandmaster lobby though, and my take is that even with the few miracles I found within the map list, it would not have inspired a video essay on the level of the spring collab one if I'd played it first. it's just not as interesting, and not as rewarding to study. it represents a horrible misattribution of priorities that permeates the entire community.
in that video, i confidently say that spring collab is ALWAYS interesting, because modding culture is interesting even if it's interesting for being a little bad or revealing something about the author's proclivities. strawberry jam represents a near unanimous drive to remove authorship and make levels that are impartially agreeable, to make Celeste 2. it's only interesting when the mapper does something interesting on purpose, like Paint, Pointless Machines, Undergrowth, Summit Down-Side or Flipside Cliffside. a path of least resistance emerged in the time between SC2020 and Strawberry Jam, and experiencing it in this quantity made me forget what I liked about this game or this modding scene in the first place. the volume of creative gimmicks and varied aesthetics is huge, but each one starts to feel identical after being ground through this particular jank-averse process. I still have strong opinions about every map in SC2020, even the ones that might seem unremarkable, I can only barely begin to quantify the entire fucking C tier of my SJ tierlist. it's diverse on the surface but the substance is homogenous, especially intermediate through expert.
also in my SC2020 video, I talked about a certain tension that arrives once you get to the expert lobby, where the mappers had to create uncommercial levels of difficulty that rubbed against a similar apparent drive to make the player feel like they're actually doing the challenge & not just watching it. strawberry jam arrives at this conflict far earlier, the INTERMEDIATE maps and onwards are the ones that seem to pull between making interesting challenges while also having the player be an agent in those challenges. they want the intermediate levels to feel hard, look cool, and the solution is to just make them ridiculously constrained so the only way is the ~satisfying~ way. that's why I won't make a video about strawberry jam, because many segments in my spring collab video already serve as criticism for strawberry jam. it made the same mistakes again, but worse, and with far less of the things that made me love spring collab in spite of its flaws.
here's my tierlist, if there are any questions i'll try and qualify any of these takes with what i can remember from playing it. however, for reasons stated previously I won't be playing more so this is probably gonna be it.

(TuT) ok so i got a few but my most thought about are these silly characters who are based on the arthurian legends but mixed with final fantasy and their trying to fight the queen because she doesn't like magic (even though her children are half elf and therefore have plenty of magic) im still struggling to find designs i fully like but this is like the current designs. (Idk if you wanted me to pm u about my ocs or ask??)
Tell me about your ocs too!!!
LESGOOOO okay I do know some things about Arthurian legend but I know fuckall about final fantasy so you're gonna have to bare with me. I love this art, first of all! I'm presuming you drew it but either way massive kudos to the artist, I'm really liking these designs :D (also the style in general but that's more subjective :P)
Headcanons,,, hmm,,, ok I'm gonna go from left to right (and I'm also gonna refer to these charas as their hair colours bc I don't know their names, lo siento xD) (also I am kinda presuming genders based on appearance here so sorry if I get any pronouns wrong xS)
Pink:
There are chains on most of these characters' outfits but the majority are on hers so I like the idea that maybe she made, or at least fashioned, them and then gave them out to the rest of the group?
(by that logic there must be some reason that brunette doesn't have a chain... hmm... maybe pink doesn't like him, or maybe the chains represent some specific thing that brunette isn't/hasn't done)
She's self-conscious about the mole on her cheek :( (if I'm presuming correctly and pink is one of the queen's half-elf children, her self-consciousness could be compounded by the fact that this mole is also an identifying feature that people could use to find her)
I like the idea that Pink is one of those people who just doesn't feel the cold. Not sure why. Maybe it's the fit :P
Ginger:
I know her ears are probably hidden bc of her hairstyle but low-key when I noticed that detail I thought it might be that she's hiding her ears for plot reasons. Is she pretending to be a half-elf and have magic when she actually doesn't? Is she ACTUALLY a half-elf and hiding that fact bc of the queen's grudge against magic? Who knows? Not me! :P
She's actually ambidexterous and only wears arm guards on one arm to throw off anyone she's swordfighting with
The only thing sharper than Ginger's blade is her tongue; her insults are lethal and she is very liberal with their usage
Funny idea: this character has a very low pain tolerance. Like, in the heat of battle she can obviously power through life-threatening injuries, same as any self-respecting protagonist can - but outside of adrenaline-fuelled action? Hoo boy. If this woman stubs her toe on a rock, you're gonna be hearing about it for hours
Blond:
I get the sense that blond has 100% tried to use magic to cook a chicken at least once (and that it hasn't gone well)
Maybe the shared colours are just convenience for the sake of faster colouring but I like to think that blond got ginger a corset the same shade of red as his shirt and boots because he wanted them to match :)
He's actually very good at dexterous skills relating to string and ropes - braiding, embroidery, knotwork, and so on (this inspired by the little braid in his hair (ignore the fact that I've ignored the fact that pink's hair ALSO has a braid in it))
Blond strikes me as the team confidante. I like to think that if anyone has problems, or needs someone they can trust with sensitive information, they know they can go to him :D
Brunette:
I think brunette's cloak is cool as hell so I like to think that HE thinks it's cool as hell too. Like, he wears it all the time, and everyone else is just like 'ugh it's brunette being edgy and mysterious again' but his interior monologue is something more along the lines of 'man... I look so good in this cloak... I've got that shit ON'
He'd actually really like to grow a proper beard, but he just can't for whatever reason so all he's got is stubble 😔
Something about him tells me that he enjoys tripping people up with that staff he's carrying
He can sleep standing up (and it freaks the hell out of anyone when they see it lmao)
-
And,,, that's it off the top of my head! (In a manner of speaking. This was not ALL off the top of my head xDD) I hope you crack that character design conundrum you're wrestling with! Thank you sm for sharing your charas, this was honestly fun as hell :D (Either PMing or ask'ing would've been fine with me :3) Keep loving them and making content for them and you will find your audience, I promise! <33
ALSO 'tell me about your ocs too!!!' OKAY YOUR ENTHUSIASIM HAS TWISTED MY ARM but this post is already pretty long so I'll put it under a cut :)
Broski I have WAY too many OCs to fit into one post that isn't as long as my bionicle lore summary so I'm gonna pick out 3!
First we have DANTE
I love this guy. He started off as a self-insert back when I first started writing (12-ish years ago?) and now he's his own fully developed character. I'm so proud of him T_T
Anyways! My guy got evil superpowers from a magic rock - long story, sorry - and decided he was going to become a superhero anyway. He's a paragon and a charismatic protagonist and he tries his best, but he's also a stubborn, chaotic man with no off switch. Maybe not the best person to hold the fate of the world in his hands, but oh well, it's too late now! :P
(aah, I love putting characters in situations)
Next up we have: RAELYN
Remember that magic rock? Yeah, turns out that rock has a consciousness. That's Raelyn. She doesn't like Dante, and especially doesn't like the fact that she's now stuck in his brain - but she likes the main villain of this story even LESS, so she's sticking with him for now. She's an unrepentent fucker and I really enjoy writing her >:3
And finally, we have IVY
Ivy is a cyborg that spends, like, a year fused into a suit of armour (another, slightly grim long story) before the good guys rescue her. The good thing about the longform story I'm telling is that we get plenty of time to watch her blossom from a haunted, emaciated cyborg into someone who's happy and healthy :)
(not pictured: me, valiantly resisiting the urge to call my own OC an absolute smokeshow)
Aaaaand there we go! Hope that fulfilled your curiosity about my own OCs - thank you so much for asking! <3 Have a good one, you absolute champion! :D
#ofc I am willing to offer more OC content if people ask but this post is about BOOGURINE'S characters and not mine#so I am holding back the yaps and making sure I don't steal too much of the spotlight :P#not a pic#someone asked me a thing!#boogurine#IK I said it in the main post but MAN. this was so fun. hope I can spread some creative + OC love with this one

anyways with comms out of the way uhh im getting back into my limbus company owb au 💥💥💥💥
re-meet Dante, the White Savior, leader of the 3rd L Corp. "Liberator Saints"
somehow weaseled their way into rebuilding lobotomy corporation, attempts to upkeep more efficient energy production than the old l corp did with their new epic prosthetic worker family and their funny restoration repairs, as well as going under the radar to pull poor people from the backstreets into their EPIC prosthetic cult family
someday hopes to gain enough people to Overthrow the Government ^TM although we all know dante could never fucking do that
though while their first and second goals are to build their family of prostheses and someday overthrow the leaders of the city, dante also has a third very very funny goal:
to bring about the White Nights and Dark Days. A-fucking-gain.
thats right folks dante is a little history fucking fanboy after don quixote told them all about color fixers and the history of the city
dante has a VILE fucking hatred for humans and all things humanity so what should he do to cope with his rage and hatred? thats right he should totally bring about 3 days of positivity and light then shut it the fuck down to cause 4 days of absolute despair for all with a mind across the city and recreate the big hashtag pianist incident to wreak havoc on the city and its foul, filthy humans within it
dante of course will fail somewhere along the way because while this is basically building up to a mary sue plotline where the world shifts around one guy to get what he wants this is still a project moon mirror world and because its project moon nobody gets what they fucking want
dante will enjoy his funny cult until eventually his ulterior motives are found out by the head and by extension the rest of the city and hes fucking stomped on with spit on his grave and creating a wave of hatred for prostheses that not even the one who grips herself could create
keep in mind that half of the time during this embarrassing fucking rant i have had absolutely no idea what im talking about nor how the government in project moon works i am just looking for some way to have dante get to be cool without him embarrassing himself. i need reason in everything
tldr; dante is a little bitchboy that worships prostheses, hates humanity, somehow by some fucking plot miracle got the government to trust him with a whole ass wing, and would kiss roland and/or angela on the lips if given the chance
also his main literature inspirations are alice in wonderland and paradise lost, his more non literature inspirations are bill cipher and kromer and also the "the devil shivers when the nice guy snaps" fanfiction/au trope

"i'm sure. i promise."
suna rintaro x reader
summary: you're feeling a little insecure about you and rin's relationship. but who could blame you? you're at a party with a bunch of people you don't know and your boyfriend is catching up with an "old friend." that would be fine except for the fact that this so-called "old friend" is his ex and looks like she came out of a magazine.
hurt to comfort so its kinda angsty ig?? but not rly bc my heart can't take it lol
warnings: insecurities, body image, post time skip, mentions of alcohol
a/n: THIS IS MY WORK! TRANSFERRED FROM MY OLD ACC
a/n pt. 2: i wrote this at like 1am bc i woke up and this is low-key inspired by the dream i had hehe bc u should always follow ur dreams 😀👍
this. was. the worst.
to give a brief overview, you were at a club with at least a bajillion people because your boyfriend told you that it would be a "fun new experience." he gave you a kiss on the forehead upon seeing that you were nervous and the two of you walked in together.
now, you were sitting at the bar by yourself watching as another girl flirted with your boyfriend.
you were filled in on the backstory earlier. she went to inarizaki and she and suna dated for their first year and a small part of their second year of high school. she then had to move to the united states (specifically los angeles) and they ended up breaking up.
you had transferred to inarizaki in the middle of your second year, and you and suna started dating 3/4 through your third year, so you had never met her before. your classmates had never mentioned her before either. and when suna introduced you to the girl as his girlfriend, she shot you the nastiest glare before smiling sweetly at your boyfriend.
anyways, one thing led to another, and they got so caught up in chatting that they hadn't noticed how bored you were, nor had they noticed when you silently walked away.
after taking another sip of your drink, you let your eyes wander to the two of them.
a fatal mistake.
she was beautiful. no, stunning. no, show-stopping-looks-like-she-just-stepped-out-of-the-front-page-of-a-magazine-absolute-drop-dead-gorgeous was probably more accurate.
she was wearing a tiny black figure-hugging bodycon dress with a cutout just above her chest that looked amazing on her beautiful hourglass figure. she had platinum blond hair that was pulled up into a long high ponytail, big grey eyes, and shiny, clear skin.
you looked down at your own figure. then at hers. then back at yours. then hers.
though you knew it wouldn't do any good, your mind began to wander.
are these the kinds of girls rin likes?
she's so beautiful.. her waist is so tiny
i wish i could be half as pretty as her
what if rin still likes her?
what if rin doesn't actually love me..?
you knew that you needed to stop. you decided to slip out to get some fresh air.
you sat down on a bench at the park across the street (don't question why a place where children play is directly across from a club. just don't mention it) and inhaled the cool air. you were so relieved to be out of that club. so relieved that your eyelids began to feel heavy.
you awoke to a string of "ping! ping! ping!" rubbing your eyes sleepily, you opened your phone to see who would be texting you so urgently.
rinnie <3: where'd u go
rinnie <3: where r u
rinnie <3: hey bb where'd u go
rinnie <3: bubs?
rinnie <3: hey r u mad at me
rinnie <3: what did i do
rinnie <3: im sorry
rinnie <3: ok srsly where r u
rinnie <3: r u ok
rinnie <3: WHERE R U
rinnie <3: no srsly im actually worried where did u go

oops.
you: sorry babe
rinnie <3: WHERE R U
you: i went outside for some fresh air
you: im at the park across the street
the club doors swing open and see your boyfriend's head furiously whipping around, trying to find you. when he sees you, he sprints over to where you're sitting.
"sorry babe." you apologize. "i didn't mean to worry you." you had never seen him look so frantic before.
"so you mean to say.." he starts before pausing to catch his breath, "that you thought that leaving without telling me and not responding to my texts wouldn't worry me?"
"i'm sorry." you say, before adding on a quick and quiet "to be fair though, you were having such a great time with ms. los angeles model that i didn't think that you would notice."
though it was quiet and muttered under your breath, suna heard it loud and clear. he sighed.
"look, we didn't break up because she was moving. we broke up because i was sick and tired of her nasty attitude. i just didn't want to be rude and say that in front of her. the only thing that's changed about her is that she's learned how to put a smile mask over her disgusting personality. a really phony one that's made out cling wrap with a sharpie smile and a bow."
you giggled slightly at this.
"look," he says softly, lifting up your chin to look you in the eyes. "you're the only one that i love. i promise, ok? you're so beautiful and sweet and it's crazy to me that god finally decided to give me some help and give me a chance with you."
he gave you a small smile.
"i love you, y/n. i love you so, so much."
and with that, he swooped you up in his arms bridal style and started walking.
"WOAH- rin where are we going?"
"home."
"but it'll take a while to walk home from here. shouldn't we just uber like we did here?"
"walking gives me more time to be close to you and talk to you."
"but you'll be walking while simultaneously holding me for a while."
he blinked. "i play professional volleyball. if you think that i can't take a walk home with my girlfriend in my arms, i'd honestly be pretty offended."
"right."
there was a brief moment of silence between the two of you.
"i'm sorry if i made you feel sad today, bubs. i love you so so much and i'll stop at nothing to make sure that you know that."
you smiled softly.
"that's what i like to see." he said, peppering ticklish kisses onto your neck to make you giggle a little.
"rin! stahahap-!" you giggle, trying to scrunch up and protect your neck.
"your laugh and smile are the two most precious things in the world."
you and rin talked the rest of the way home and he kept reminding you of how much he loved you.
when you finally got home, you asked him one final question.
"rin, are you sure that there's no more chemistry going on between you and ms. los angeles model?"
he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"i'm sure. i promise."

thank you so much for writing mandatory family reunion. i just reread it for the eighth time. i think im going to dedicate my life to life to reading your other sbi fics until you update again. also; do you have any tips for committing to fics and not leaving them half-finished?
ahhhh that’s so sweet glad you enjoyed! As for writing fics, having it be your special interest really helps. But for more general advice on finishing:
-Don’t stick to just one story. Which seems counter intuitive! But inevitably you’re going to hit a snag in one story. So instead of stopping writing at all, switch projects. Writing involves a whole bunch of thinking, and stuff needs time to percolate in the back of your head. But having a small project to work on in the mean time keeps you engaged in the writing process, gives you practice, makes you feel like you’re making progress, and allows time to work out the other story. I personally have 1-2 main projects, Fault and MFR, and then rotate a couple back burner stories that I work on whenever I get inspiration and fully expect to have very slow progress and possibly never finish. Short stories, one shots, hell even just writing little one off scenes that don’t go anywhere. It’s a way to keep writing fun and thus you’re more likely to continue working on the stuff you’re trying to complete. Don’t feel bad if there’s breaks between working on your main project. Writing involves a lot of thinking and it takes time to do that.
-Devoting time to do that thinking also significantly helps. When you’re falling asleep can be a good time to rotate stories in your head. Could also be if you’re walking from place to place, or brushing your teeth, or other little gaps in the day. Even if you’re not physically writing, it’s still part of the process and can make it easier when you actually sit down to write because you know what scene you’re most excited to work on. Also, talking over your story idea with a friend is a great way to stay motivated if you can get over the mortifying ordeal of being known. You can bounce ideas off them, and other people’s investment in a project can be a great motivator to finish. Like legit a single ao3 comment once stopped me from my plan to abandon a fic. Reminding yourself why you (and other people) like the story makes it easier to want to continue.
-Keeping a rough outline of what you envision for the story can give you a road map to how close to done you are and where to go next. Just like you can hop between projects, I find jumping around the plot time line to write what scene I’m most interested in atm keeps me going instead of writing everything in order. Though, all writers have different degrees of plot planning, so that depends on your style.
-Art! I’m an artist, and while writing definitely fuels what I draw, I find doodling cool scenes I want to write really inspires me to keep going. This sorta falls under the same category of continuing to think about the story and motivating you to finish. -I found keeping a writing journal has improved how I view my writing. Basically, I’ll jot down a bullet point list of scenes worked on that week/month. Writing is a very slow process, so seeing a timeline of actual progression on a story makes it feel like I’m actually getting more out of my head and onto paper. I also jot down what ideas for scenes I came up with since that’s also part of writing, and might include a chill no stakes writing goal for that period, like work on X or Y project, or a particular scene. Sometimes my goal is just ‘write at least one sentence’. I give it lots of leeway, and accept that the muse may just be somewhere else that week. And if the goal isn’t met, no sweat! Life can get busy at times and it’s more important that you aren’t beating yourself up if it’s been awhile since you last touched a project. Forcing yourself to write a scene that isn’t ready won’t result in a good scene or an happy writer. Switch projects, give yourself time to think about it, take care of yourself, etc.
And, legitimately, don’t be afraid to abandon a piece. Maybe you’ll come back to it, maybe you won’t. It can feel disheartening to feel like you can’t seem to finish a project, but unfinished pieces also do a lot for you: they hone your craft, allow you a creative outlet, give you scenes that could potentially be reworked for later pieces, and most importantly were hopefully fun to write! Story crafting is a hobby that should bring you joy, not frustration and shame.
Like, I have stories that will never see the light of day and are just so I can have fun and poke it with a stick occasionally. I’m 100% confident in saying that every author will have tenfold the number of unfinished wips compared to complete works. That’s just part of the creative process: exploring different worlds to find the one you want to write.
Perhaps a fic might never get finished, but in the wise words of Technoblade: “if you enjoy it, it’s not time wasted, no?”
(Now, I think he was talking about murdering people, but the point still stands.)
#I mean besides my novel I’ve only completed like 6 fics out of dozens of ideas#Only one of which had multiple chapters#Well and truly having a bunch of random wips is normal and expected#Muses are flighty write to have fun with it#Ask#writing advice#creative writing#writeblr#writers on tumblr#writers#writing inspiration#something to nom on#ask

okay i really really want to start reading your vampire wars thing because first of all, im OBSESSED with the concept, and second, it just seems cool as hell, but i’ve been unable to read recently so i haven’t had a chance to get to it. ITS ON MY LIST THO 🙌🙌🙌
BUT I STILL WANNA KNOW ABOUT HIM HE SEEMS SO COOL. I don’t wanna ask annoying questions cos I feel like most of the one’s I have are things you’ve probably already answered haha, BUT TELL ME ABOUT UR SPECIAL GUY. Is there anything in particular you just really really wanna talk about? Any little details you’re really proud of that you want people to notice? Can he turn into a particularly fluffy little bat? If so would bat Wars appreciate head pats? Is there a specific vampire lore that inspired this?
-crazylittlejester
Sorry this took so long! This is the first ask I got after asking for them but it's the last I got to!
I think people realized these things but I’m going to talk about them anyway!
Warriors has bad self-esteem. He’s super protective of the others. He has the ability to regenerate, so it’s hard to hurt him in a way that actually matters. He can pretty much bounce back from anything. Anyway, all three of these aspects of Warriors feed into each other. He doesn’t care about what happens to him because he can regenerate. The pain is worth it if the others are safe. He thinks keeping the others safe by taking the really bad hits is how he’s earning his keep in the group because he has a hard time accepting that they actually like him for who he is. The others are working on it!
This boy is a pacer. When he’s restless and antsy, or hopped up on blood, he just starts pacing. He cannot help it.
Warriors is actually the sleepiest in the chain and beats even Sky. I headcanon Sky with sleep apnea (because of projection) but Warriors ends up sleeping the most because being half-vampire is actually really hard on his body. I like it imagine that sleep is the glue that keeps his Hylian half and vampire half together to make one mostly functional person. This is why he can pretty much fall asleep immediately if he’s injured but also had some blood.
The fluffy bat thing is a plan but hasn’t happened yet. It’s not a vampire thing in this AU (it is a nod to it at least?) nor is it his shadow crystal form. It’s wizzrobe bullshittery that he actually saw some use in so he begged Lana for some way to have regular access to a bat form. It’s probably some sort of jewellery. I wrote a very small snippet about Four throwing a tiny bat Warriors into the air to help him figure out lift. Of course, he’s a vampire bat because they can run on the ground and I think that’s pretty neat. Go look up a zoo feeding them blood, they just run on the ground and take little sippies out of a bowl.
And finally, the inspiration for this AU is a movie from the 80s called The Lost Boys. It inspired his appearance a little bit (he’s got the same yellow and red eyes). Lore wise, some of the abilities made it over but I used a lot of different inspirations for this AU and of course, I had to try to remix it fit Zelda too. The Lost Boys is the first inspiration though because I was in that rabbit hole when I wrote the first chapter.

the evil thoughts got me fucked up and shit
OH forgot to mention: top 2 images are the final 'redesign', 2 images below are concept sketches i made for the 'redesigns'
tgs jekyll and hyde but they got evaporated by my evil headcanon beam and stitched back together by somebody who has no experience with using a needle and thread to the point where theyre more just like a seperate character
im sorry for my sins
PLEASE HEAR ME OUT BEFORE BITING A CHUNK OUT OF MY ARM. if anybody wants to read about my evil headcanon world all the stuff is below. wasnt really exaggerating when i said i ripped their character apart and stitched them back together though.
i do have a google doc full of everything i headcanon for tgs but some of that is embarrassing as hell so im just slapping the important stuff here
most of these 'headcanons' are here more because they make me happy than to actually make any sense. as a warning.
smokes fat blunt puffs it in your face anyways uh trans henry jekyll yeah (gets shot) ty person from the j&h community i was messaging that dragged me to the dark side and introduced me to the world of embracing my j&h trans headcanons. a true angel.
i really like more book inspired takes on j&h than the musical ones soo uhh.. yeah theyre the same person fully no j&h arguing thing. im soooorrrrryyy its just my preference for adaptations and i find it a lot more fun to play with story wise. also some other reasons but i wont get into those
polyamorous and bisexual (bi because... obvious reasons. poly because of that one couple they meet up with in the comic every now and then. my favourite ... ship (i think thats the right term?) in the comic. i love them.)
gas mask because it looks cool + chemical shenanigans ("oh but those didnt exist" shh. shhhhh.")
speaking of chemicals! they are much more into science. mostly does science-y stuff when theyre hyde though. they like to break into lodgers rooms and contribute to experiments.
facial hair. thats it. no further reasoning will be given
tried making jekyll in the concept redesign of him look older. failed SO bad im sorry i know its horrible.
hyde has pointy ears + pointer teeth (and green tongue because potion goop) + slit pupils because i am incapable of designing a human hyde. i have no idea why but i just cant.
earrings because 1: i have a bad habit of giving designs earrings and 2: i remember seeing a few headcanons of j&h with earrings and they were so tasty to look at so i had to do my own
bandage scarf thing from the beta tgs hyde design + newer tgs design that only shows up in the mind... world.... thing.
added the uhhh goggles from the old design too.
red and green hat because i couldnt decide if i wanted hyde to have the red hat from the old design of tgs hyde or the green hat from the current design. ripped it in half and chose both. great decision making i know
chunks of brown hair in hydes because why not. also red ring around one eye as like a weird variant of half heterchomia.
hyde has weird patches of green colored skin idk it just looked cool when i was fiddling with colors so i kept it
hyde has red scales in certain spots of the design. no further explanation
gave hyde black gloves to contrast jekylls white gloves + cmon. hyde probably touches the most gross revolting shit with the places they go to. they deserve some gloves.
changed their body type a litttttle bit just a smudge
i was going to give jekyll a cravat around the neck (a really bad designing habit of mine is to give characters cravats. not my fault they look so cool) both as a fancy thing + to hide lack of a adams apple buuttt the design felt way too clumped so im scrapping that. ignore the cravat in the drawing. grrr bARKBAKRABK
actually does sparkle visually/not just as a non-existent visual effect and people can actually see it. lanyon always swats them away because the sparkles get in his face.
hyde is more shorter than shown in the comic, more like book hydes height. like a foot or more shorter than jekyll. jekyll stays around the same height though. hydes probably the shortest one in the society.
permanent eyebags. does not sleep but cmon we all already knew that
hyde has a strong scottish accent instead of the other accent he fakes in the comic that i always forget the name of
has a cane like the og book. its a sword cane.... yeah i have a addiction, im sorry. (like half my own personal characters have sword canes)
i suck so bad at drawing shoes so hydes shoes look like ass but theyre supposed to be big boots since this guy probably walks through yucky mucky areas and stuff
i would totally write some oneshots or something like that of these guys going on adventures doing experiments and stuff yknow . (stuff like lodgers content and interactions, lanyon and hyde interactions because i enjoy secret identity and person said secret identity personal knows outside of their secret identity interactions, that one couple i talked about before interactions with jekyll/hyde and just in general random oneshots that make no sense) if i actually had any literacy skill
anyways im done my ramble. now you guys can shoot me
#the glass scientists#but like#i ruined it#sorry guys i sneezed on tgs j&h theyre trans and neurodivergent now#embracing my cringe#tgs hyde#tgs jekyll#but extremely torn apart#not literally torn apart i mean figuaritytuibjvbvkvj#posting this knowing its gonna get me on atleast 7 different peoples hitlists#ok im gonna go snore mimimi now#my tgs headcanon world

YYH live action reaction - characters!!
yusuke: pitch perfect. he strutted. he had an edge. he's dangerous. he's complicated. he wants to do good but doesn't want to be bossed around or explain himself. he's tired and over it. him realizing he has friends. he cares about people. and he's loved. and he loves them back and wants to protect them and he can. takumi kitamura nails how complex yusuke is and is damn cool about it.
kuwabara: amazing. perfect. goofy and with the biggest heart and brought the comedy in a way the show seriously needed. i loved that he inspired yusuke to try harder with genkai's training. him falling in love with yukina was perfectly played out. loud and rambunctious and the moral backbone of the show. shuhei uesegi made me cry and i don't care that his hair is not the iconic pompadour - he's kuwabara. (also let's talk about the chains on his school uniform buttons?? the lining???? the fauxhawk his hair turns into when it's free of that gel)
hiei: he's serious. he's snarky. he's angry. he will stand twelve feet away from anyone else. he's awkward with his long lost sister. kanata hongo was perfect. the only downside to his character was when he zooms around, the sound effect is - cartoony. which, would have been fine in an anime, but in live action was a little Much. but! that has nothing to do with kanata hongo's acting - in which he was perfect. solemn and annoyed and on a mission. hiei is my favorite character, so i was a little skeptical about the changes they made to him, but i fucking loved every second he was on screen. the choice to have him use the shadow sword to attain a jagan eye was brilliant, it really tied in the yukina storyline with the artifacts of darkness storyline in a way that the og series couldn't (considering hiei was meant to be a one off character). though im sad this would eliminate his past with shigure. loved seeing hiei jump around and run fucking fast, him leaping off the tower to cut a car in half was so cool, dayum. i wish we had more scene with him.
kurama: babygirl. the prettiest. aloof and deadly. did i mention the ponytail he wears for his school uniform? (speaking of - if the blazer and tie was his school uniform, what is the gold lined magenta uniform for? if thats just what kurama wears in general - he's insane. i love it). jun shison brought it. he captured the mysterious side to kurama, the sharp and deadly side, while still managing to show how much heart kurama has. and lets not forget youko kurama <- absolute badass. meaner. faster. his bushy tail and ears will live with me forever. he made kurama's whip look terrifying and his plants even scarier (and sexier?). his big doe eyes were so disarming, he stole every scene.
overall - every actor (not just the main four) nailed it perfectly. i'm crossing my fingers for a season two at the very least.
#yu yu hakusho#hiei#kurama#kazuma kuwabara#yusuke urameshi#im gonna rewatch asap#ALSO BOTON I LOVE HERRRR
