Hi Julie!
I can’t believe you’re still here!!! I think last time I read your blog was in 2017, I miss those times. I was feeling nostalgic so i came to check your blog, so happy that you’re still here. 🥰 How are you, what are you doing these days? I think if I remember right you graduated high school, did you study anything after that or are studying something? I’m glad i found here back and even after all these years it’s fun to read your writing and they still gives a little bit comfort🥺💖 when i read your writing it’s like going back in time🙈 Did you went to see 5sos on their last tour?
T: Anonymous reader since 2014🫶🏻
omg????? This message, I feel like I wanna cry 😭🙈🫶🏼
2017 was such a good year, dammit. I cannot believe it is 7 years ago. Like what the freak happened? I must say, things aren’t the way they were back then, the 5sos fandom is withering … but I like to come back here once in a while to reblog stuff and keep up with what’s going on. ✨ also just reading all the messages people have sent me. I somehow can’t wrap around my head that 30.000 people wanted to follow me, hear me talk about period squad and read my stories 😅
Yes, I graduated high school back in 2016 and had two gap years where I was a part of Wattpad futures, getting paid to write fanfiction. Then I went to college and got an ap degree in multimedia design and since then, I’ve been working as a graphic designer. Still writing romance novels, just no longer with 5sos. I’m currently rewriting The Math Teacher on Wattpad, it’s called Forever Could Be Ours. Thinking of self publishing it once it’s done.
I sometimes do read my own writing too, because it’s been so long and I’ve honestly forgotten half of it. I’m sometimes like where did I get come up with all this creativity, it was like a full time job and I was in high school most of my writing process??? I get why my grades sucked, I was too busy with fantasies and being on tumblr 😏
5sos, those freaking rude asses, haven’t planned tours in Scandinavia since the pandemic happened. So I haven’t seen them since 2018 which is driving me nuts. My boyfriend has promised me next time they go to Manchester, we’ll go to their concert ( in favour of watching a Manchester United game with him, haha)
Can i just say thank you for taking the time to write me this message, it has been the highlight of my fucking week. I felt like all of you were like my friends and it's definitely been sad to see the fandom leave for other interests 🤠🌻
#THIS IS SO SWEET#IM DYING#bring back 2014#or the least 2016#those years were epic#thank you anon#anonymous

the gravity falls renaissance is messing with my head because i keep seeing the same level of dramatic artwork of middle aged/old men on my dash in a very particular style akin to the way people post about like. superwholock. like it’s that kind of vibe. but this is for the disney cartoon i grew up with. the first episode features a gnome barfing rainbows
#peach rambles#it’s amazing keep it up but also i feel like i don’t live in the same world as you#i hope it’s been fun being a new fan experiencing all this for the first time as an adult#you get a really different experience from those of us who used to run to the tv after dinner for fun slice of life stuff#who suffered the hiatus and theorized for years and were completely blown away by everything live#i know what it’s like to be late to something and not care at all because it’s so much fun#i wish nothing but the best for everyone who’s contributing to giving this series the epic legacy it deserves#gf

i was confused as to why my dash was suddenly full of LOST -- specifically the "Pilot", which, truth be told, really IS a helluva pilot, regardless of what came after -- and then I realized yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the premiere.
#twenty. fucking. years. the times really won't stop/don't stop coming. the fuckers.#god tho: those early days in the fandom were HEADY. the wednesday night liveblogs/wild comment threads on rachel (ack attack)'s livejournal#the theorizing and inside jokes (JEARS!)#(i still call michael emerson 'benry' every time i see him in something new)#i was working at the ice cream shack that fall and we had a tiny TV in the back and we'd watch it in between customers#my initial reason for watching it was dom monaghan thanks to LOTR#and i'm still sad that josh holloway's career didn't blow up after this. he was so fuckin good as sawyer.#(this was also my mum's intro to daniel dae kim. she was all WHO'S THAT??? 👀👀👀 lol)#lost#(i seriously miss those nights on LJ tho. WE CRASHED THE WEBSITE. SEVERAL TIMES. god that was EPIC FUN.)

Because it's happened to me a billion times with other fandoms containing queer ships - if I were an outsider to the SoC fandom and just caught glimpses of fan works/posts, I'd have to wonder if Jesper and Wylan were actually canonically together or if fans just made it up so hard they tricked me into thinking it's real. like ok are these little crime guys actually in love this time or are we feeling left out again.
#then you consume the media and you're like wait they're not actually together. the gays got scammed again#like whatever they got going on in the supernatural fandom...they had teen me thinking those bitches were gay married for years#anyway i haven't watched supernatural. all i know is that they never got gay married they went to hell instead#actually i think soc was the first book i read with an actually relevant queer romance in it so that's epic of them methinks#i was like oh! the author actually Wrote Gay People Falling in Love!#i was an sjm fan at the time so this floored me. yikes#jesper fahey#wylan van eck#wesper#i don't think i've ever tagged a ship name before. but we're talking about it rn so#six of crows#soc#tgt#six of crows memes#soc shitpost

my official take on the moon/qibli/winter love triangle is that winterwatcher is a much grander, epic romance, and moonbli is a much more level, sweet-and-simple romance, but ultimately i think it was a better decision to have the latter be the canon romance in a series primarily marketed towards children and teens than fall into the "bad boy" romance trope, and instead romanticize the earnest, genuine, sweet relationship
obviously there's way more nuance to this involving internalized/unconscious bias, and winter doesn't even REALLY fit into the "bad boy" archetype, but purely based on genre conventions, the gruff, rude, brooding, tortured hero VERY often falls into that category, and at the ages of 7-14 most of us were very LIKELY to be romanticizing that archetype, which again is very often treated as interchangeable with the "abusive bad boy" trope, and while i might have a few gripes with the writing of moonbli and i ENJOY winterwatcher a whole lot, i DO appreciate the more gentle, "safe" romance being treated as the ideal, rather than the tense and angst-filled nature of the alternative
#i could talk about this way more but im in the middle of rereading dod so itll have to wait#what i DO have to add is like. something something the ideal romance being the calmer safer one and how - for me at least -#those years of my life were so complicated and difficult and i made this image of romance out to be this massive painful epic tale#of heartbreak and passion and huge declarations of love and everything#but ultimately; imparting the lesson to children that a romantic relationship should be SAFE - it should be your comfortable place#where youre happy and content and feel warm and secure - is MUCH better#than pressing upon them the idea that it should be this epic battle of tension and painful pining and everything#(whether its something simply overlooked in the writing or not; the fact is winter also DIDNT ever apologize to moon for#all the hurtful things he said or did - which isnt to say hes a BAD GUY i love winter so much -#but i think romanticizing those kinds of dynamics - which is tricky but CAN be done - is better saved for works marketed towards#more mature and emotionally intelligent audiences than i think wof might be meant for)#ANYWAY I HAVE LOTS OF THOUGHTS#god im so glad i got back into this series. the literary love of my life#mine#wof#winter#moon#qibli#wings of fire#winterwatcher#moonbli#meta

as a follow up to me going on about BBC iPlayer and specifically its collection of old movies, today I ended up watching An Ideal Husband (1999) and had the experience, usually only found when watching Twelfth Night performances, of hearing the characters speak lines and immediately remembering having entire lessons and writing entire essays about those specific lines. Good ol' Literature A-Level texts! Perfectly good movie adaptation too, a lot of original dialogue and I always love Wilde plays :)
#draco speaks#unlike 12th night I hadnt seen or read it *since* finishing a-levels over 6 years ago#so it was also nice having my memory refreshed on a lot of the plot beats#I'm so lucky that almost all of my a-level texts are ones I turned out to absolutely adore#the sole exception being some of Christina Rossetti's poems but eh it's alright and I *DO* love her epic work Goblin Market#the others were Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen -#both of which started lifelong love affairs with those authors -#and the play Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth which. seems to be obscure and I've never heard or seen anything about it since but I liked it

no. sorry. but the reincarnation thing in oshi no ko is just so incredibly stupid i can barley comprehend it
#tanya the evil dni but like there there is some sliiight sliiiight benefit of the biggest doubt trans reading that can be done there#even if the extra layer is still stupid there.#but here it's like. why are the children of the murdered pop star also her murdured stalker gynecologist and the sad 12 year old cancer#child he proposed to before he died??? how does this help anyone#you look at the cool guy teen protag on his epic high school entertainment business revenge quest and go.#you don't deserve to sadly mourn your mom actually. because you're really just some random creep who was her doctor????#and like the scenes that were like. awwww she loves her cute children <333#sorry i just feel bad for the poor girl those are two of your dead fans!!!! only way this can be redeemed for me is if it turns out#she somehow orchastrated all this in an even dumber twist. that would be funny.#but equally :) that death scene was disgusting <3 good riddance!#it tries to sayyyy something about idol culture and humanise her sooo badly but it's whole soul and presentation is just.#its own antithesis#<- kaguya sama and scums wish both getting reevaluated

So there's my grammar teacher who used to be known as the intimidating one but like.. He's always been open to me and my friend about like what he watches and interests and has literally asked to see my writing
Do you know how awkward it is to explain the last thing I wrote was haha flower cough;"#+(@+%
(he liked the concept and deadass said "send it to me that's a command" and now I'm omw to write something entirely new because ain't no way I'm sending MineDai)
LMAO I WAS GONNA SAY YOU'D HAVE TO HOLD A GUN TO MY HEAD TO SEND SLASH FICTION TO MY TEACHER
#snap chats#i could never be that open with a teacher bro id rather get shot#will be epic to see what you end up cooking up for him tho. in pursuit of Not sending slash fiction lmaoooo#i wish i was able to be close with my teachers- closest i got was my art teacher during I Think my 1st or 2nd year of high school#he was SUCH a cool teacher and he'd always work on commissions during class#he was color blind so he had this really cool system on figuring out what the appropriate colors were for a client's piece#i remember one time we were meant to sketch those like. japanese scroll pieces Yk What I Mean#and while he did have preexisting examples for students who didnt know what to do (or didnt care LMAO)#he was just 'you always know what you're doing so you can freehand it' so that was epic :)#i drew a dragon.... cause im predictable...... but he really liked it so :)#man high school sucked but i also remember my english/comics teacher.. she was a really big fan of mine#she was especially passionate about my doing comics and doing art related things.. i get sad thinking about it sometimes#part of why ive always wanted to make a doujin was for her so i could send it to her and be like#'hey teach i still really like art look :)'. like when i say she was SUPER passionate about me It Was Super Passion#honestly she was my first big fan if im tbh- id never gotten support like that and i wish i valued her enthusiasm more#i was just mad depressed and angry in high school i just wanted to be left alone all the time.. but oh well no point in crying about it now#it'd be better if i could start thinking of a teacher-friendly doujin to make and give her... lmao.....#BUT YEAH NOT TO HIJACK YOUR ASK TO RAMBLE i hope you think of something to give your teach LMAOOO#just change the names full a Fifty Shades it's fine. terrible example but we know what i mean is the worst part

Had that happened to me except they said, 'You are lying, tell us who, we told you our crushes is only fair' and kept on insisting. Like I'm not lying. I'm actually choosing to tell you the truth. If I wanted to lie, I would have picked someone random so i could answer. Anyways I do think they never actually believed me...
Literally why do people have to look at me funny when I say I don’t have a crush? Like, is it really that hard to comprehend?!
#when that question years later was asked by different people i already knew i was aroace#so i answered 'no one - im aroace'#which meant i then had to explain what that was#so my conclusion is there's no easy answer to this#so i want to come up with some funny answers for this but idk#idk which would be funny “no”- with a very serious face#“next quetion please” - with the tone of one of those questions shows#laughs and then says “oh. you were serious.”#“nobody” - proceeds to very loudly start humming either the mitski song or one of epic the musical songs#“That demon behind you”#or dragon/fairy/whatever else#aromantic

yeah mr big talk shoujo reader has only read one series out of the big three (as dictated by colleen's manga recs (yona, furuba, kamisama kiss)). and what about it.
#tbh it's mainly bc i can only stand reading one or two romance series a year and other shit always comes up to steal those spots#yona meanwhile... well. it's like that one kusanagi quote where she mentioned readers were more hyped when yona shot a guy than in any#of the romantic moments. the other two are magical romcoms. yona is a high fantasy epic.#romeo.txt

Terry Pratchett about fantasy ❤
Terry Pratchett interview in The Onion, 1995 (x)
O: You’re quite a writer. You’ve a gift for language, you’re a deft hand at plotting, and your books seem to have an enormous amount of attention to detail put into them. You’re so good you could write anything. Why write fantasy?
Terry: I had a decent lunch, and I’m feeling quite amiable. That’s why you’re still alive. I think you’d have to explain to me why you’ve asked that question.
O: It’s a rather ghettoized genre.
Terry: This is true. I cannot speak for the US, where I merely sort of sell okay. But in the UK I think every book— I think I’ve done twenty in the series— since the fourth book, every one has been one the top ten national bestsellers, either as hardcover or paperback, and quite often as both. Twelve or thirteen have been number one. I’ve done six juveniles, all of those have nevertheless crossed over to the adult bestseller list. On one occasion I had the adult best seller, the paperback best-seller in a different title, and a third book on the juvenile bestseller list. Now tell me again that this is a ghettoized genre.
O: It’s certainly regarded as less than serious fiction.
Terry: (Sighs) Without a shadow of a doubt, the first fiction ever recounted was fantasy. Guys sitting around the campfire— Was it you who wrote the review? I thought I recognized it— Guys sitting around the campfire telling each other stories about the gods who made lightning, and stuff like that. They did not tell one another literary stories. They did not complain about difficulties of male menopause while being a junior lecturer on some midwestern college campus.
Fantasy is without a shadow of a doubt the ur-literature, the spring from which all other literature has flown. Up to a few hundred years ago no one would have disagreed with this, because most stories were, in some sense, fantasy. Back in the middle ages, people wouldn’t have thought twice about bringing in Death as a character who would have a role to play in the story. Echoes of this can be seen in Pilgrim’s Progress, for example, which hark back to a much earlier type of storytelling. The epic of Gilgamesh is one of the earliest works of literature, and by the standard we would apply now— a big muscular guys with swords and certain godlike connections— That’s fantasy. The national literature of Finland, the Kalevala. Beowulf in England. I cannot pronounce Bahaghvad-Gita but the Indian one, you know what I mean. The national literature, the one that underpins everything else, is by the standards that we apply now, a work of fantasy.
Now I don’t know what you’d consider the national literature of America, but if the words Moby Dick are inching their way towards this conversation, whatever else it was, it was also a work of fantasy. Fantasy is kind of a plasma in which other things can be carried. I don’t think this is a ghetto. This is, fantasy is, almost a sea in which other genres swim. Now it may be that there has developed in the last couple of hundred years a subset of fantasy which merely uses a different icongraphy, and that is, if you like, the serious literature, the Booker Prize contender. Fantasy can be serious literature. Fantasy has often been serious literature. You have to fairly dense to think that Gulliver’s Travels is only a story about a guy having a real fun time among big people and little people and horses and stuff like that. What the book was about was something else. Fantasy can carry quite a serious burden, and so can humor. So what you’re saying is, strip away the trolls and the dwarves and things and put everyone into modern dress, get them to agonize a bit, mention Virginia Woolf a few times, and there! Hey! I’ve got a serious novel. But you don’t actually have to do that.
(Pauses) That was a bloody good answer, though I say it myself.

#what is it with me and going down rabbitholes of ‘trans is a social contagion’ content#is it a social contagion? have kids in liberal areas of the country been convinced that being trans is a cool club they can join?#all the posts and videos about coming out choosing a name changing pronouns going on hormones getting surgery is it functioning to#over-glorify transition and frame it as this exciting cool fun hashtag epic little adventure with few downsides??? is that what’s happening?#i don’t know. and im tired.#i think there’s probably some truth to it i guess. i imagine there are some young impressionable people who are met with all of this Content#and over time they go ‘huh yeah i guess that seems fun’#but like. i know a lot of cis/cis-adjacent people who have watched me rave about all my little transsexual happy moments#like binding and getting on hormones#and they’ve just celebrated me. for years. with no inclination to start actually enacting changes on their own bodies or presentation#then again that’s just anecdotal#ive always found myself taking offense to the nontransitioning nbs of the world. a lot of the ones that i know will talk to me like we’re#the same#and it’s like babes im sorry but we’re not the same you make quirky jokes about being None Gender and i cry because my voice isn’t lower#i just feel like a lot of younger trans kids’ ‘trans experience’ begins and ends with a change of name and pronouns and maybe wardrobe#and that’s fine!!! i don’t give a flying fuck! do whatever you want forever! i will always call you whatever you wanna be called! always!!!!#but. a part of me is curious as to like. how many of those kids were just attracted to this because it looked cool or fun or novel#there’s this thing i saw somewhere about how a lot of young white men are radicalized because they’re kind of desperate for a struggle#or a passion of some sort#and i wonder sometimes if something similar is happening here#because the vast VAST majority of ‘tenderqueers’ (term makes me ick but it gets the point across) from what ive seen come from#very privileged backgrounds. almost always rich or at least financially well off and white#i know that im probably activating every alarm by going ‘hmmm non-binary is like neonazi’ but that’s not what i mean i prommy#just like at its core perhaps there’s this inherent need in adolescents to have something to fight for#something that can make their lives feel like a journey they wanna take so they can feel in control#im spouting pure fucking nonsense. look it’s 4am and im feeling contemplative. about this dumb shit.#i need to fix my sleep schedule so bad i feel so shitty recently#and it’s definitely at least in part due to how late im staying up.#whatever.
