You know... Rewatching Earthspark after reading the MTMTE and Lost Light comics makes me respect the series a whole lot more. Megatron having switched sides suddenly clicks better in my head and I do like his slight Scottish accent. Also, I like his chemistry with Dot; it's been a long while since I enjoyed a Cybertronian and human friendship.

Speaking of the humans. This might be the first (animated) Transformers series where I don't think the humans are annoying, dumbed down, or worthless. I like the Malto family and while Mo's eyes still take me off guard because of how huge they are, I'm just happy to finally not be hating on "human (kid)" characters in a Transformers thing. Though, the so-called "comedic" dumbness of some GHOST agents and civilians does remind me that it is still a kids' show, and not all human characters are perfectly written.

Overall, Earthspark is pretty solid, there is a lot I've come to appreciate during this rewatch. That said, I still can't get over how silly Optimus' dinky face mask and pronounced cheekbones look xD but his dorkiness makes up for that.

I can't find a screenshot or clip of it but Alex calls a move Elita does in earthspark s1 ep2 "Ariel's Gambit" aND I JUST oh like hiiii???!!!!?! I looked it up and from what I've seen it's not an irl move so surely it's named after ARIEL like our ariel

okay, I'm pretty annoyed by how they handled the fallout of this plotline with Robby, because the setup/initial conflict for it was... a genuinely really traumatising direction to take things? it would have been just as much for a fully-grown adult as it would for a kid, so this weird half-hearted swerve where there's clearly SOME kind of effort to give it emotional depth makes it all the more irritating when the gaps are papered over with the most generic teenage angst stuff imaginable.

Firsts to Grow Up AU

The Cybersleeves are very invasive and overwhelming. Both Robby & Mo grew annoyed when the Terrans kept guessing their activities at every jolt of emotions. Fortunately, the sleeves paused the emision to the teenage twins when they are asleep. Once they're awake, however, floods of emotions ruined their peaceful wakeup routine. They long for the days when they aren't the centre of the Terrans' psychic link.

When they lost it, Robby is gravely ill. Mo is at war with herself -- relief of having privacy to her own emotions again, regret for making the Terrans rely on the connection too much, and disgust for wishing she and her twin brother never found the Emebrstone, making the Terrans assume she didn't want them anymore.

During this time, Hashtag is constantly an edge away from panicking. Feeling only her own emotions and none from her siblings causes the echoes of her mind controlled state to bounce back with force. For Robby and Mo's sakes, Hashtag kept quiet.

Painfully quiet.

Time to ramble about robots again!

So a little while back, I briefly talked about two crossovers between Transformers Earthspark and Transformers Prime: One where the Terrans end up in Nevada and another where Team Prime (Or at least a couple of them) end up in Witwicky. I want to go more in depth on the former, just to get some of it out of my system.

Our story starts the way many crossover AUs do: with a malfunctioning spacebridge.

I initially thought of Nightshade building it as a way for the Maltos to escape any close encounters with G.H.O.S.T. but then I remembered that Earthspark uses the G1 spacebridge design. i.e. a massive ring laying flat on the ground. So instead, the gang stumbles upon some rogue Decepticons building a spacebridge in the woods so they can finally get off Earth. But since whatever scientist (Simacore maybe? It doesn't matter) they have probably isn't as good as Shockwave and they're rushing to build this before G.H.O.S.T. catches on, things go to shit pretty quickly.

Don't ask how the cons are able to build a spacebridge capable of tearing a hole through reality when they can barely feed themselves

The cons manage to escape the out of control spacebridge, but the Maltos aren't as lucky. I'm not completely sure who all gets sucked into the bridge since I don't want the entire family going through, so for now I'm gonna say Dottie, Robbie, Twitch, Hashtag, and Nightshade get pulled through. This lineup could be subject to change.

From there, things become a little vague for me. I was gonna have them to end up in Prime at some point after Shadowzone, sine Team Prime would be more open to the idea of alternate dimensions after that episode. But I also want Hashtag to be there for Out of His Head (And maybe Nightshade for Predatory? Just to give them a spider who isn't chill). Hell, I'm half tempted to have them land in the pilot and be split up so that ES!Bumblebee can save Cliffjumper.

In any case, Team Prime picks up on a massive energy surge and investigates. They meet with the Maltos and despite varying levels of skepticism, they bring them back to base. I like to think there's a bit of early tension because Fowler and/or some of the bots give the the whole "robots in disguise" spiel and try to get Twitch and Nightshade (Or Jawbreaker. Again, haven't decided yet) to take on more covert alt modes, only for Optimus to step in and say they have a right to keep their forms though it means they can't go out as much as Hashtag

Robbie and the Terrans aren't super active in the war - cos y'know, they're kids - so they're usually either getting into shenanigans or helping around the base. Hashtag is scrubbing evidence of the Transformers off the internet, Twitch is sparring with Wheeljack or Arcee, and Nightshade is trying to help Ratchet perfect the synth en formula, find the Maltos a way home, and rebuild the holoform projector so they and their siblings can leave the base.

Meanwhile, Optimus is quietly having a crisis in the corner. There's a world where Megatron ended the war? Cybertron's core wasn't poisoned (Yeah, it might still be dead, but the key word is might)? He now has kids to look after. Not 'kid' like Smokescreen, but actual children who should not be here. Yeah, the Decepticons getting their hands on the human kids would be bad, but Optimus doesn't even want to think about what they'll do if they find out about the Terrans.

Uh, I'm running out of steam so I'm gonna try and speed through some more notes.

The Terrans meet the Rescue Bots at some point due to Hashtag unintentionally looking through government files

I'm tempted to have Jawbreaker scan his canon alt mode since I know what it is, but I think I'll wait until I see how he actually gets it in season 1C before I decide for sure.

I want one of the Terrans to connect with either Dreadwing or Breakdown, though I'm not sure who does it or how.

Maybe the aligned!Emberstone is on Earth? They had a billion other relics stashed here so it wouldn't be too surprising.

If Cliffjumper lives, the Terrans are the ones who reveal themselves to Jack and Raf. Miko's intro to the bots stays the same.

Actually, if Cliffjumper lives, Bumblebee gets captured by the cons. He'll live but it won't be fun.

The Terrans get two drug PSAs! One from Megatron and the other from Ratchet.

Miko isn't allowed to be alone with Hashtag or the twins. That is an accident waiting to happen.

I feel like Dottie and June would be a fun dynamic? Lemme get back to you on that.

Nightshade sneaks out at night and becomes a local cryptid before Hashtag can scrub the images.

The displaced Maltos aren't showing it, but they are freaking out. They have no way of knowing if the rest of the family got away from the spacebridge, got sent to some other universe, or just flat out died when the spacebridge went critical.

Dottie and Robbie (Or Alex and Mo, or Dottie and Mo, or-) get set up with false records so that they aren't stuck in the silo for weeks on end.

Hashtag tries to hack the warship at least once. How it goes remains to be seen.

Hashtag: Jawbreaker doesn’t very often, but he does sometimes indulge. It’s rare.

Nightshade: all three of them blew up a bunch of hot dogs in the microwave once.

Nightshade: i was fairly certain that when mom and dad saw that mess in there they might have been at high risk of death.

Nightshade: i almost didn’t want to tell them. give them a chance. but then i would have died. so…

Twitch: That’s why they got in trouble that time?

Hashtag: and I thought the whole thing with Thrash repeatedly trying to sneak into the house, and breaking windows after getting carried away was bad-

Twitch: and Jawbreaker starting a game of how many times he could trip Bee during our lessons… and the other two kept count…

Nightshade: im still kinda reliving the trauma of the whole hot dog situation.

Hashtag: It’s okay, ‘Shade. We’ll see if we can convince dad to cook hot dogs for you tonight, help cope with it.

Twitch: There there. It’ll be okay.

a great part of liking Tracks & Raoul as a package deal, or indeed any character that's only prominent in one version of transformers continuity, is how easy they are to slot into all the others with only maybe minor changes to their circumstances.

the same meet cute formula is always there: Raoul finds Tracks in disrepair and saves his life & more importantly his good looks > Tracks becomes immediately attached > Tracks sticks around to be part of Raoul's life and does his damnedest to better it > they become insufferableinseparable.

& since they always meet in the 80s they are a ready made pair of uncles for any child you throw at them.

Yandere!Soundwave (Headcanons) (TFP, TFO & TFE)

WARNINGS: Yandere behaviour. Mentions of stalking, kidnapping, obsessive ideas/thoughts. Reader is human (TFp & TFE) and Cybertronian (TFO) and gender neutral.

TRANSFORMERS PRIME: SOUNDWAVE

A possessive yandere that stalks and recollects everything about his beloved S/O.

Soundwaves was sure he would come to hate humans - they were like... parasites, too primitive. Inferior.

And yet - you were not like the other humans. You were... more.

Perfect, ethereal, unique - Soundwave was sure he caught a glitch or something, but his spark would beat at the rythm of your own heartbeat (Soundwave was sure his spark and your heart were bonded, connected - synchronized) whenever he got to see you.

Sadly, the Autobots got you before you and him got to meet like true sparkmates, as you accidentally saw one fight between the vehicons and that yellow autobot.

Soundwave got to see you when he connected with one of the vehicons and saw through their optics... oh, precious you.

To this day, Soundwave is not sure what made him fall overpedes for you - and that frustrastes him as it is the only knowledge he doesn't possess.

Definitely stalks you if you have any type of presence on the internet, no matter if you are a private user or an influencer.

Everything about you - any photo, any username, any post, e-mail, ubication, everything about you rests now deep inside of his system as data, and he keeps collecting more and more.

Soundwave would manage to kidnap you after sending you a false message under the impression it was from any of the autobots that tasked you to meet somewhere so they could take you to the base.

Before you could yell for help, you were already snatched.

Every little reaction, sound, mannerism, body language - anything is getting recorded and Soundwave is just so fascinated.

Treats you like the most fragile thing in the whole universe.

Allows himself to be selfish and keep you in his arms, working and from time to time, look down at you and place a kiss emoji in his mask.

Escaping is a far away dream of yours now - Soundwave knows everything and hears everything, and he made sure to not let you see anything about the Nemesis when he brought you to his quarters.

You are trapped - like a precious butterfly inside of a glass case.

"Soundwave: loves dearly S/O. Soundwave: knows everything about S/O. S/O: Soundwave's sparkmate."

TRANSFORMERS EARTHSPARK: SOUNDWAVE

Earthspark Soundwave gives me the vibes of a yandere that starts obsessing with you out of hate.

He wants to hate you - you were a human! A human like G.H.O.S.T (even when you were not related to that organization) that locked him and his fellow teammates after that traitor of Megatron betrayed all of them!

Changing a little bit the Earthspark's story - you and Soundwave crossed paths when Soundwave managed to escape from G.H.O.S.T's HQ - it was at night, and he was trying to find somewhere to hide.

Like the Maltos, many people in Witwicky had their homes in the forest. And it just happened that you had a home like that, too. Soundwave managed to hide behind it - and by Primus' choice, you were still wide awake right at 3 AM.

You would have screamed in fear at the sight of a giant robot - but you quickly catched on at how he just seemed to be trying to hide, not attacking you or anything. And when you heard many cars pulling right outside of your home.

Soundwave was just about to start running again, but when he heard the front door open and you come out, already screaming your lungs out to the agents to leave your property and such, managing to even scare them off as you didn't allow them to speak or anything.

"Threaten me all you want - it is 3 freaking AM and you are all suddenly just arriving to my property! I will call my lawyers and the town's mayor!" You yell as the agents finally leave. And you turn to the tall robot who peaks his helm from the back of your house. "Uh... you can stay - just, do not get those weirdos back or something. Good night."

Ugh! How Soundwave loaths you! With your boring life and your sympathy and your will to keep him hidden and stay at your territory! Your human behaviour, always telling him he could count with you, that you could be a shoulder to cry on and how you always give him that kind smile and those reassuring words, and...

In a few days and night, Soundwave becomes a protective, obsessive yandere who is not afraid of destroying others if it means to keep you safe.

Is not afraid of snatching you from your home and life the moment Optimus, Megatron and the others find out about his whereabouts and about you.

Vows silently to protect you with his own life - he was gonna shed the energon of others and his own to keep you safe and sound.

Cry and beg all you want to Soundwave about letting you go - he is not going to do so, dear. He is keeping you safe, he is keeping you far away from the same bots who ruined his life.

He is not gonna let them take you away from him - his new light of hope, his new reason to live and fight.

TRANSFORMERS ONE: SOUNDWAVE

You and Soundwave have known each other from a long time ago.

You two worked together, and you two followed the High guard after defecting from the False Prime's orders after witnessing all the horrible things he did and the murder of the Primes.

Many times you grieved after watching the fall of the Primes, knowing all of you were now in danger if Sentinel Prime and his followers found you all, no longer able to go home and knowing so many innocents were suffering at the hands of that monster.

Soundwave held you closer as you cried against his chesplate, trying to whisper you hopeful words... but he was slowly spiraling in a sea of despair and that sensation of everything seeming lost.

A delusional, overprotective yandere - with the pass of time, he starts to actually believe you two are the conjux of the other.

Doesn't leave you alone - he is always by your side or keeping you with him.

If he was already too protective before, with the arrival of those four bots from Iacon and the sight of how one of them nearly ended Starscream, Soundwave became ten times more protective - and add another 100 times when they were attacked by Sentinel Prime's people.

Imagine the despair and down righ madness if Soundwave witnessed you being one of the bots that got taken back to Iacon.

He might have actually... killed a few bots when he got into Iacon to fight back against Sentinel Prime's defenses.

When he found you, he hugged you so tightly and promised to protect you - he promised to kill anyone who ever tried to take away his beloved conjux.

You become a precious gem - when he leaves to follow Megatron after he is vanished from Iacon, he takes you with him, and you comply.

It was the mech you've known for so many years!

... But you can't help but be afraid at the fact that... the Soundwave you knew has changed.

And you decided to kept silence whenever he would whisper to you sweet, protective and delusional promises - you are his conjux, after all. He has to protect you, and he is not afraid of beheading anybot who stands in his way.
