#hopping on the trend jumpscare i’m from hong kong surprise #i haven’t seen that many hk mikus around #lowkey chat i think i kinda ate with this one #however i will say i am coloring in the dark so if any colors look off that’s why #and also i haven’t opened this program in literal months i jumped straight into this no warmup no nothing #miku is what pulls me out of art block apparently i was locked in for 5 hours STRAIGHT #someone needs to teach me how to paint properly holy #not sure how i feel about the bottom left one but that was a quick one anyways #i am from hk originally but i haven’t been back in years so i have no idea about the culture other than food and mirror #OKAY let me explain the context #street food is a big thing in hk and quick and easy things like fish balls egg waffles and like siu mai and wonton noodles are popular #back then people really would just squat down on the side of the road or right in front of the shop to eat it and go #but i don’t think anyone does that anymore city life and all that #ohh i should have done instant noodles breakfasts god i loved those #if anyones from hk if you go to the causeway bay mtr station exit that leads up to the big road near sogo. do they still sell siu mai there #that shit was BANGER i remember asking for them all the time #a good majority of parents in hk would get their daughters ears pierced as a baby something about them not feeling as much pain idk #that’s just what i was told #i used the neon for her friendly standard greeting cause i wanted to incorporate the neon signs somehow without actually drawing a whole bg #lots of neon signs in hk. i heard they had to take them down cause of light pollution which is sad but understandable #everyone got their shoes from dr kong. at least when i was younger they did #boy band is self explanatory. i heard they’re really popular my mom listens to them #oh i had her messing with her shoes cause hk people move FAST. you stop for one second and you get shoved #so like a fun little allusion #gave her black roots just for fun. she is violating every school uniform code possible #this is all based off of my memory by the way so like. anyone who knows this better than i do hit me up #hatsune miku #miku from my culture #jellos scribbles #i haven’t tag yapped in so long welcome back my love i missed you

What the food pantry on campus does:

- gives me snacks and drinks to supplement my regular groceries, breakfast stuff, maybe ingredients for 1-2 actual meals

What the food pantry is really bad at doing:

- giving me food I can make into proper meals for the week

Oh you want juice? Here’s 2 little juice boxes. Nothing else; they’re limited. You want pasta sauce? 1 can; limited. You want produce? 2 produce item limit, except for the apples which are starting to spoil. You can have all of those. You want frozen chicken? One container only. Oh, they’re all stuck together and frozen? Sorry, you can’t have two; no chicken, I guess. Pasta? One box only. Rice? Two small bags, max. Breakfast bars? Yeahhhh, those are a snack, and you can only have five snacks, total. But if you put those pop tarts back, you could have some! Oh, you want donuts instead? Sure! But that’s a bakery item, and you can only have one baked good, so you’re gonna need to put that bread back. You want ziploc bags? Here, have two. Not two boxes, two bags. Item limits. Sorry. You can come back next week!

How the fuck are people supposed to actually *use* these things for weekly meal planning if there’s not enough to last a week???

I swear I am grateful for these resources I’m sure they’re doing the best they can with what they have I’m just *frustrated*. I’m trying to spend less on groceries bc I can’t really afford them. It’s nice that the food pantry gives me these small portions to last me a couple days. But that still leaves several days with not enough food unless I’m really creative or go grocery shopping, and I simply do not have the energy or time to be really creative.

#blue chatter #yes yes u have pasta noodles that’s GREAT #that’s not a full meal until I have sauce and meat or veggies to go with it #and your produce and meat stock are very limited if they exist #oh you have rice? great! rice on its own is not enough for a meal. what is going Into The Rice.#like obv if I have to I will just eat the pasta or the rice but a lot of the food bank’s stuff focuses on shelf stable staples and not like.#ingredients you can actually make into a full meal. like. protein and fat and vegetables or fruit.#carbs are super important but if you only have carbs then your body is gonna suffer #same if you only have protein or only have veggies/fruit or only have fat. you need all of them.#and like yes. they do have a couple basic staples like peanut butter. if I needed to make a balanced meal I could probably eat a spoonful of #peanut butter and some rice and snag a bag of apples and eat those. and I will do that if I gotta.#but the effort it would take to turn that into a dish I would enjoy and feel full after eating is. so much.#and they don’t have staple ingredients like flour or sugar or eggs #sometimes they have butter. sometimes. they had eggs once but they were rotten.#like I am so grateful for the free food believe me I am but I don’t understand how they expect students who don’t have grocery money to eat #you could get everything they let you take and still go hungry or feel sick from lack of nutrients or be unable to make food bc they don’t #have spoons or the equipment or both #also. the food pantry is SUPER not wheelchair accessible. and the parking situation is DIRE.#why are there only two (15 min limit) parking spots. but 38584847 meter spots. and the closest non-meter lot 10 minutes walk away.#I had a pain flare yesterday from lugging my groceries all the way back to my car. my gosh.#I should not have to pay for the privilege of parking a reasonable distance from the food bank when there’s spots RIGHT THERE UNUSED #nobody goes to this part of campus! everything is closed except for the food bank! why are these meter spots!

#I ate ramen just now it was soooo god I think ramen is just it just is better after 10pm #im right #ughhh ok that actually reminded me earlier my classmate was making an Asian people eat dogs joke like he put on this awful accent and he wa #all like ‘dog tastes so good with rice’ and then he did other stuff too #but what really made me upset is that someone who I thought was my friend found it really humorous! wow okay!#I know it’s not really a big deal but im still kind of sad like I’ve lost all my respect for you now #anddd they were my only friend in the class so now I’m stuck there for the rest of the semester I guess . I am not hungry. It's dinner time. I have no appetite. I await the impending hunger pains that will soon to be. For now, food is disgusting.

#standards for food has been raised because of this. your average home cooked meal doesn't appeal to me at this time specifically. my #favorite foods are not included and therefore. no.#also my family thinks i really like curry but thats not actually the case i just really hate plain rice so anytime theres curry i dump a lot #in my rice. my favorite home made food is actually spring rolls.#theyre crunchy. theyre perfect. they also like to add those weird transparent thin noodles thing in it and its pretty good even as a meal #itself (as in teh spring roll).#or potatoes i like potatoes in any form. its nice.#thats nowhere included in it. other than the curry but i dont feel like it rn.#also i think i should mention that the curry at home isnt spicy. at all. because i dont like spicy curry. it takes the focus away from the #taste. also my favorite actual spicy food isnt even curry. ma po tofu is spicier. better. and goes well in rice. makes it not plain. adds #interesting texture. its curry but better imo #food rant in tags?

#siren!mc #loyalty fic #as someone who's also 'slowly dying' from their disability #'slowly dying' can mean A LOOOOOOOOOOOOT of things #like...............idk maybe it's cause of my situation but I did not go into this thinking that touya would NEVER die #you can't do those types of things to your body and not have consequences #like even if touya heals which I think there's good evidence for #touya's always been sickly. he's always had a body in conflict with itself #having a cold-preferenced body with a super hot fire quirk is gonna have health consequences #I never thought touya's happy ending was absent from death I just wanted him to be loved and seen for once #I'm more mad that if these are his final days that he has to spend them in fucking tartarus #with no sunlight and only seeing his family for a couple minutes every day #THAT'S unsatisfying to me. I wanna see them eat these fucking noodles #I honestly think touya will most likely stabilize and live for probably years after the fact #but he's still gonna be burned. he's still gonna have damaged internals.#at the very LEAST he'll have extreme fatigue and need to rest a lot in bed #and that wouldn't be BAD actually. he's still living he's still loved #I think it might be a good idea for some of y'all to reconcile what it means to be fans of a disabled character
