Okay it's Modern Setting AU sylkior with no selfcest and no incest so maybe this is not something that will interest the people who would normally be willing to read sylkior fic, but I believe this to have the greatest plot OF ALL TIME and that this fact will overcome the obvious drawbacks of the concept. (The plot is that they eventually fuck.)

Sometimes. I reply when I have something meaningful to add. Otherwise it'd get very repetitive and generic and that kind of soulless connection isn't really the point of this kind of thing. I adore my comments nonetheless and I read them a lot.

Maybe Modi the Brave (MCU, Thorki). This was an angsty fanfic of a fanfic. There was a happy ending in the original fic, The Rescue by madwriter223

I'm not counting Absolution because it was immediately followed by a sequel. But technically, it did get me the most angry sobbing comments which i treasure to this day.

The Final Straw was angsty but it was also dumb and half-cocked and the closest thing to an embarrassment on this account. It was literally just a half-thought half-scene of my 18yo self's emotional state in 2018 that is very evident that I wrote this angrily in study hall. I wrote a lot of fic in that high school during classes. Like a lot. It was my school computer. I got plenty of use out of it. There was no structure or coherent plot. I didn't even hint at anything deeper to be explored in your own minds. I didn't want to look at it long enough or think about it long enough. I just wanted it out of my head. If I didn't have a strict no deleting my works policy, or hiding from my past art policy, I would probably have deleted it within the week of posting. I do not understand how it has the kudos, subscriptions, and bookmarks that it has. I guess it resonated. Good for y'all. I mean it.

Literally just the entirety of Tyler's Bad Year is meant to be about a very traumatic time in a young man's life and him surviving it. I'm not going to go through them and try to pick out "the worst" one. That's not really the point and it'd be largely subjective.

I'll Eat You Raw has an angsty ending but angstiest? I'm not sure.

I don't write a lot of bad endings. Open endings? sure. Complicated endings? Absolutely. But unhappy endings? No. I don't often have the desire.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Jesus fuck we want to be here all day? Ok lemme look through shit again.

Wandering in the Dark has a whole story behind it. There was actually two versions. Only one was posted to ao3 and is the "canon" version. I wrote this fic for a high school assignment my senior year. We were assigned to pick a chronic disease out of a literal hat, then write a story around it. We had complete creative control so I took that chance to write teen wolf steter fanfic in class and actually have it be on task for once (I got an A in that class btw). The reason my teacher got a dark ending version is because by the time he got back to me on the maximum word count, I'd already finished the canon version and it was way too long. I couldn't trim the fat, so I wrote a different ending to shorten the story. That version is one of the angstier stories I've written. The one posted and linked above, is the very happy by comparison. This fic is also designed to be read by someone who doesn't know shit about teen wolf.

Through Thick and Thin was also extremely happy. As is Her Monster. Benevolent Gods was meant to be very hopeful. The Hale Pack (Undying) was the end to a series that was my baby for a long time . Like long enough you can see my writing evolve as you go. Part one was one of the first things i ever wrote. Like ever. The last part was years later. Jasper was meant to be a very light-hearted, happy story as well. It's extremely sweet and fluffy. You was also very happy and the epilogue cemented that happiness. Warning: She Bites literally had a happy end that unknowingly prevented a main character committing suicide in the near future. Saving lives by being horny. Wednesday Evening, and every installment in that series, is excessively happy as well.

Alright I ran through my list of fics. These were the ones that stood out. There's too many to really commit to one answer tbh. Especially because the way they're happy varies.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. Or. Well. I'm sure I do. I block antis on sight and I wholly reject purity culture, and I haven't really been the target of a major attack or anything. I don't get as many hateful comments as one might think, and I don't entertain the ones I do get. I've been accused of vile shit of course because of a fic I wrote. I don't remember what fic or even what ship it was for because I don't dwell on them really at all. Aside from that, I get more entitled but probably ignorant to how they come off as entitled comments that aren't really that big a deal. Just a bit of a peeve sometimes. I honestly think the majority of them truly believe it's a kind gesture when they say it.

9. Do you write smut? What kind?

Yeah. You could say that.

What kind? In a word? Intense. I could make a joke or a long elaboration on my niche in hyde sex and whatnot, but at the end of the day, intense. Even my most laid back, domestic, slice of life fics have a sense of intensity to them because otherwise I get bored and it feels soulless and it's just not my writing style.

When I feel like it. When I have an idea.

Yes! I have a steter fic on a russian fic website that was translated years ago. I have no idea which it was or if it's still there. Wait! I might remember. Yeah no. I don't remember. It wasn't the one I thought of.

No. I've started to outline one before but it went nowhere and we both forgot about it.

13. What WIP you would like to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Harry Potter and the Night that Changed Everything.

I had a whole novel basically planned for it. Writing Bellatrix and a Harry who was raised by Bellatrix took a lot out of me emotionally, and I lost steam.

Also, a Bella Swan/Marcus Vulturi fic that i also had a novel length plot planned out, wrote three chapters for, and then lost steam when I left the fandom due to getting the life sucked out of me by a bunch of toxic people in the fandom killing my joy. Those chapters are just collecting dust in my files right now. I'd like to go back to it one day and finish it in some form or another. Maybe it's original enough I could actually just write an original novel out of the scraps I already have. Actually, to be honest, it is probably original enough that I could write it as an original story. There is not a lot of Twilight there that is necessary to the story and can easily be written out. Something to think about maybe. Ironically not the first prompt I thought up initially for Twilight that I then realized nothing about Twilight was necessary for the idea I had, and I just wrote it without Bella entirely. This is how my original zombie novel started and then immediately evolved into an entirely different thing that has nothing to do w Twilight. Like literally nothing. I had to work to put the Twilight into that one. Not the other way around.

pacing. movement heavy scenes. Longer projects if only because I have less practice at them.

Yeah. If it fits, I'll write it. I won't pretend to be fluent, but I'll do my best. Probably won't do anything too complicated for the sake of realism of my abilities. Especially if it's not Spanish which I at least have spent time trying to learn.

Water of the Womb was one I was planning to write for almost a year and it turned out pretty good I think. Actually no.

No. It's not a fic that's been posted yet.

I think the favorite fic I've ever written is I Bit Him So He's Mine. it's my "Wednesday is a Hyde season one rewrite au". It's my first novel that is more than just a future novel. It's hit 40k and I have to start Act 2 still. It's my first proper murder mystery where the mystery is the primary plot equal to the romance. I've had a lot of fun with it, I've put my heart and soul into it, and I really look forward to calling it ready to post. Once it's done, you guys are getting regular updates for a long time.

20. What fic would you want to rewrite one day?

Out of the Fire haunts me. It was a lesson to learn. I had the desire to write a steter/hannigram crossover and zero plan of any kind outside that. It crashed and burned because I only had a first chapter in me. I recently met a local and successful author who recognized my ao3 username because of this fic and remembered me years later enough to compliment my writing (I cannot express how much that meant to me). Wait no that might have been Mark of an Angel which also haunts me, but I didn't have zero plan. I had almost no plan, and lost steam when I hit a creative block at a bad time. Normally, I'd have just sat down and workshopped a starter outline and wrote myself out of that block, but I lost steam so I never did. Different deal. Not as impactful in my creative journey. Out of the Fire, however, was very important to me because of why it failed, and remains very influential with every new project I start. Actually rewriting/finishing that project would be a defining moment for me as a writer, I think. At least to me personally.

A few types of MCU Loki fans I’ve encountered/noticed being in the fandom for over three years now:

DISCLAIMER: DON’T TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY PLEASEEEE IT’S LIGHTHEARTED!! Some of these things apply to me as well, and some don’t lol. Doesn’t necessarily apply to everyone it’s all just for giggles.

The Lokius shipper Series Fan:

- Usually younger Gen Z. Can be anywhere from 14 to 23 years old. They’re younger teenagers most of the time.

- Heavily on TikTok but also on Pinterest/Twitter.

- Got into the MCU/Loki more recently. Either from the Series, or from Ragnarok.

- For some reason, wholeheartedly believes that one Tumblr post from like ten years ago that states Loki is 16/17 in human years. Even though that’s not canon at all and it does not work like that.

- Favorite depiction of Loki tends to be the Variant/Ragnarok. Sometimes Avengers.

- Almost ALWAYS a fan of Good Omens or OFMD.

- Obviously… Ships Lokius.

- Very anti Sylvie/Sylki, but LOVES Mobius.

- EXTREMELY anti Thorki, even though not a lot of people ship them anymore.

- Spreads a lot of misinformation. Such as taking the fact that Marvel confirmed that the Scepter influenced Loki, and mistaking that with them 100% confirming the theory of Loki being brainwashed by Thanos.

- Thinks Loki’s eyes are green???

- Newer to fandom in general.

- Doesn’t talk a whole lot about the series outside of the ships/fanon discourse.

- Making Loki tree/Yggdrasil jokes CONSTANTLY.

- Either thinks that Loki before the series was completely evil, or an angel. No in between.

- “For you, for all of us 🥺” / “Your savior is here!”

- Often forgets/doesn’t remember the fact that Loki/OG Loki are two different characters, and groups them together.

- Either a Swiftie who likes to constantly joke about when Taylor and Tom dated for 3 months like 8 years ago and also associates a lot of her Songs/Lyrics with Loki, or is someone who has a bit more of an Alternative taste in Music/Fashion.

- Doesn’t really talk about Thor that much, or really wants him and Loki to reunite.

- They’ve probably seen other movies including Tom like Crimson Peak, Skull Island, and High Rise. The more popular ones.

- Owns a lot of TVA related merch.

- “He’s not Odin’s son, or Laufey’s son… He’s Frigga’s son 🥺” or insists on calling Loki by “Laufeyson.”

- In Fanon, sort of treats Loki as a very normal, modern human, and not a god from an entirely different realm.

- Has either dropped the Series/their love of Loki a few months after the Series ended for the “next best thing”, or is currently still raving about all of it.

- Quite immature about other’s opinions/perspectives on Loki/or even people who ship the opposite ship from their own. This is mainly because they’re younger or because they really like their Fanon idea of Loki/Which ship should be Canon.

- Has some questionable headcanons/opinions of their own on Loki.

- Loves Frigga.

- Hates Odin.

The OG Loki fan who’s been a fan of him since 2011/2012, but is a bit more casual about his characterization:

- Usually a Millennial/in their late twenties or mid thirties. May even be in their fourties.

- Has been here for a good while, and saw just about every movie featuring him as well as other MCU movies in the theater when they first came out. Was probably a younger adult/older teenager when Avengers came out.

- Fanfic writer!!

- Favorite depiction of Loki tends to be Ragnarok, TDW, or Avengers.

- Mainly reside on Tumblr/AO3 but also on Twitter from time to time.

- “The Sun will shine on us again.” / “Love is a Dagger.”

- Some depict Loki in their Fanfics in a Smutty/BookTok YA Fantasy Novel style. Some in other ways. They also have a lot of fun with their Fics! So many AUs.

- They are carrying the Loki x Reader tag, I won’t lie. 🫡

- Doesn’t necessarily love the Series, but also doesn’t necessarily hate it. Does prefer the OG Loki they know and love over the Series and had a few disappointments with the Series, though.

- MAJOR Hiddlestoner. Some may like Tom more than they like Loki. Have watched his entire filmography and then some.

- A lot of them have really cool Loki related tattoos.

- Collects a lot of merch. Both from the Series, as well as more OG Loki merch. Also owns about fourty Tom magazines.

- Probably has met Tom/owns an autograph or something signed by him.

- Usually ships Loki with Sigyn, Jane, Tony, or an OC they’ve had since 2013. Honestly, I don’t personally see them that often anymore, but may ship Thorki. Does not really ship Lokius/Sylki whatsoever, or uses Sylvie as a bit of a self insert in Fics.

- Sometimes also a huge fan of Bucky/The Winter Soldier or Sebastian Stan. Associates Bucky and Loki a lot especially in Fics.

- Some are also fans of Star Wars who love Kylo Ren.

- Actually they like a lot of other morally grey characters.

- Probably has a pet named after Loki.

- Feels deeply for Loki, and relates to him in certain ways. Really likes humanizing him in their fics. Loves the more vulnerable side of him.

- Loves Frigga.

- Hates Odin.

The Loki purist/“He’s literally me” Fan:

- Anywhere from 16 - 28 years old. May be a bit older than that. Usually Mid/Older Gen Z, or younger Millennial.

- Has either grown up loving Loki, or became a fan a bit more recently.

- Favorite depiction of Loki tends to be TDW, but obviously can be any of the three OG depictions of him.

- LIVES on Tumblr. A bit of an extinct species elsewhere, but some may also be on Twitter.

- #1 Loki defenders. Very protective of/sensitive about how he is depicted not only in Canon, but also in Fanon. Usually deemed as harsh by series fans/non series haters whenever they criticize the Series or Ragnarok, but in reality, deeply relates to Loki and takes it very personally when he is depicted inaccurately. They see themselves in him, and are so, so, SO tired of seeing him mischaracterized. But also can be genuinely harsh at times. I’ve been guilty of that.

- Either heavily believes the “Thanos Brainwashed Loki” theory, or completely rejects it.

- “I never wanted the Throne. I only ever wanted to be your Equal.” / “Trust my Rage.”

- Very creative. Creates Art of Loki, Fanfics, Edits, Cosplays him, etc…

- Sometimes weirdly resembles him in ways??? LOL. Taking “He’s literally me” literally

- Has a more Alternative taste in Music, Fashion, Aesthetics, etc..

- They either see Loki as their bff, their life partner, or as an enigma to observe. Or all of the above.

- Pretty into Norse Myth, and likes incorporating aspects of it creatively, or when talking about Loki.

- Has a good amount of Fandom experience, and does not tend to argue with other Loki purists/OG Loki fans over petty things. Because at the end of the day… it’s just Tumblr. And we usually all have a common middle ground. Or, is constantly arguing with others.

- They don’t really ship Loki with anyone, but if they do… it’s usually Sigyn or Thor. Or someone really random.

- Either really enjoys depicting Loki in a more Feminine/Neutral form, and wishes his fluidity was depicted in the MCU, or doesn’t talk about it all that much.

- Single handedly keeping the memory of Loki (prior to Ragnarok) alive. 🫡

- Loves the comics, or hasn’t touched a single one.

- Disliked Taika Waititi before it was cool.

- Lost complete trust in the MCU after the handling of Loki’s characterization in Ragnarok, and had no hope in the Series when it was first announced. Or… really hoped it would be our last hope.

- Either deems Thor as the origin of all evil, or actually likes him.

- Wishes it was still 2013 everyday of their lives.

- Either respects/likes Tom to a certain extent, or really does not like him.

- Has a few really cool merch items, or has a lot of everything and anything they can find that doesn’t include Ragnarok/The series. Usually, they DIY their merch.

- Needs to emulate him at any given moment and in any way possible.

- Likes Frigga, but acknowledges that she has messed up in ways. Or really does not like her, period.

- Hates Odin.

The… Male MCU casual/dudebro who strictly lives on TikTok/Instagram/Twitter and did not really like Loki that much until the Series finale came out and thinks Loki is a Sigma Male who dropped everything in order for his friends and his… “Girl” to live:

- ????? Wtf

- Okay I added this one more as a joke because obviously they’re not Loki fans, but…

- Anywhere from ages 15, to 24. No older than that.

- Definitely disregarded Loki’s character before the Series. Also due to him having a fanbase where Women/Girls are the majority. Now Loki is the best MCU character and has the best arc out of everyone else. 🤦🏻‍♀️

- Wholeheartedly believes that Loki was a narcissist/was overreacting about everything he’s been through, or believes that Loki is an angel now because he had a “Redemption Arc”.

- Has never picked up a single Loki comic.

- Jokes a lot about Loki “loving” himself (Sylki kiss).

- Calls the Series “Peak Fiction” just because the rest of the bullshit the MCU has been putting out was absolute garbage, and also because they haven’t really watched anything else.

- If you as an actual Loki fan correct them on any of their bullshit, they act like they know more than you because they loved the series. How could anyone hate it?

- Makes self insert memes/tries to project onto Loki in the absolute worst ways possible.

- Worships the ground that Michael Waldron walks on. Though, they all hated Multiverse of Magic..

- “Let time pass…” / “I know what kind of god I have to be. For you, for all of us.” (Once again.)

- Similarly to our Lokius shipper Series Fans… they do not realize that Loki/the Variant are literally two different people.

- Loves Mobius JUST because he is portrayed by Owen Wilson.

- Also very annoying about Loki being confirmed bisexual in the Series.

- Really wants not only Thor and Loki to reunite, but also Hela.

- Hated the earlier Thor movies, loved Ragnarok, hated Love and Thunder.

- Probably thinks the treatment of Thor in Endgame was funny af.

- Who’s Frigga?

- Loves Odin probably. (Hehe)

I recently came across an anti ao3 blog and the pinned post was an essay about how being exposed to sexual content as a teenager gave them ptsd and an older user “groomed” them. And like the screenshots they showed were maybe a little inappropriate but not anything near grooming.

They also claimed they were traumatized by a thorki fic that they claimed had a graphic rape scene so of course I looked it up and it was like mildly kinky with the characters giving full consent. The fic was tagged with the ship and rated E.

Like, it’s not possible to be traumatized by a fic. I’ve read books and seen movies I thought were disturbing or emotionally difficult that lingered in my mind. I’ve read books that gave me nightmares (my meds make me more susceptible to vivid dreams). None of that is trauma. When I was 14 I came across the story Guts by chuck palahnuik bc someone in the redwall forum I was on posted it and this was before tws or cws were prevalent. And guess what I lived lmao

Genuinely if you can’t handle your emotions about fic you either shouldn’t read it or get mommy or daddy to preview it for you

TBH, I have no idea what all can cause lingering trauma. Brains are weird.

But I too have seen such blogs including probably that exact one, and it's tragic how much they don't get what actually happened to them. Typically (and definitely for that one if I'm thinking of the same one), they were a dumb 14-year-old who wanted attention, and they kept doing more and more things that made them uncomfortable, like writing more sexual fic than they wanted to or staying in conversations about dark or sexual topics or consuming some media because someone dared them to.

If they'd had a decent adult around to talk to, maybe they'd have learned the ability to say "no" or maybe they wouldn't have been so desperate for attention and validation from randos or maybe they could at least have processed the experience in a useful way. But they didn't.

You gotta admit waiting 271,480 words into a series until you start to decided to tap into somewhat taboo or gross topics is going to reasonably upset some people I'm not even one of those people but I think it's valid why some people would be confused or upset, like I said I'm not one of them but I do wish authors would be more truthful right off the bat if they are into certain things or plan on taking a series to taboo territory, I think it's reasonable an author is called out if they are that far into a series or story and decide to add something like incest of course you didn't really added incest but it almost went that way, people should write what they want but they should also be honest right off the start instead of waiting that long and then going "dont like dont read" as if people weren't already attached to the series and supported them that far (tbh I think any backlash would have been way more reasonable if you like posted Charlie and her dad getting sexual with eachother that far into a series)

Hi Anon. I wasn't initially planning on directly responding to any of the anon questions, but I hear you, and I wanted to address some of the things you're pointing out. For anyone who is viewing this drama at a distance, this is regarding the fic series Bruises and Bitemarks which is one long-fic with a number of oneshots explicitly intended to be optional/supplemental to the main story, there only if the reader is interested in them.

I do not feel I or my co-author were dishonest at any point in this process. As we added chapters, we added tags to the fic. We separated out ships that were not the main ship into their own standalone oneshots so they could or could not be read as the reader desires. The note on the series itself states:

The smaller fics can be read standalone, but are intended to be canon to this universe along various points in the timeline. They're also totally optional! So if you like the main fic but are turned off by these stories you can skip 'em.

Furthermore, I have to admit am a little surprised that pseudo-incest (as in, a threesome where two people who may not be biological siblings but do view one another as brothers are participating) is where the line gets drawn, when in the body of the main fic we included things such as: Watersports. Drug use. Scarification. Somnophilia. A character getting murdered while two other people fuck in front of him. Dubcon. A character dying during sex, and their partner fucking their intestines.

We were well into taboo territory. I understand incest crosses a line for some people that those other issues do not. However, as I stated before, as we added things to the fic in each chapter, we added warnings. We did not go into this with some grand master plan, the idea came to us as we were writing and we decided to follow the plot bunny where it led. I think we came up with the idea somewhere while writing the last two chapters.

Personally, I don't even view it as incest, but I tagged it as "some people would classify this as incest" to cover my bases, just in case. As a form of common decency towards others.

I'm sorry that the FREE SMUT I wrote in my FREE TIME and posted on the internet for other people to read FOR FREE didn't exactly suit your tastes.

Also, my lovely co-author used to ship Thorki, so... look. It's my responsibility as an author to tag my work. It's your responsibility as a reader to decide if you're going to read it or not based on the tags.

Think it can be good in small quantities if you’re simply using google translate but if you’re trying to write a lot in that language, you should probably either already know it or ask for help from someone who does. As a reader tho, it’s not entirely helpful unless there’s a translation also given — I think it takes you out of the fic if you have to look it up

Hey Pia! I love your fics that often lean towards these slightly (more than slightly) mean, controlling tops. While waiting excitedly for the next chapter of Stain- I couldn’t help but wonder if there were fics/writers you would have an idea to recommend? Or even maybe inspirations?

Highly recommend checking out my AO3 bookmarks, because a lot of stuff in there I'd rec for other people!

And the tags usually indicate what kind of relationship it's going to be.

Otherwise, I... like very honestly anon, I consider myself to be a very lazy fic writer, which basically means that if I can find something I want in a fandom, I will not write any fanfiction for that fandom.

So a lot of the time I really feel like I'm writing into a vacuum or hollow of finding the specific combinations of things I want, which often makes it hard to think of recommendations. Because the reason I end up writing these stories is because - exactly because - I don't have recommendations, and because I decided I'd write the story myself to my own specific parameters.

That doesn't mean I haven't read amazing stories with these things! Thorki has a ton of mean/controlling tops (check out my Thorki bookmarks!), for example. But it does mean if I had the exact kind of controlling Sebastian to read - even in another fandom - I wouldn't write that fic anon, I'd be reading it. And rereading it.

Almost all of my fanfiction exists because I looked for the thing and couldn't find the thing.

That also explains my absence from certain fandoms I really love. Thorki really delivers on mean tops (whether it's Loki or Thor lol), as does Black Butler/Sebaciel, and also Chuuya/Dazai (checkout the Love series by Dgalerab). I may write stories for those fandoms in the future, but I don't really feel the need to, because I feel like what I'm looking for there has mostly been written in the most amazing ways already.

(Also standard caveat that I always have to put into responses like this - I'm not saying my fic is the best in the fandom because it's really fucking not. What I am saying is that I like a specific combination of hurt/comfort, angst, happy ending, long serial, crunchy noncon, decent characterisation, etc. in a way that works specifically for me, and I am dogheaded enough to be like 'fuck it I'll write it then' because I know I enjoy rereading my own writing lol -

Definitely not trying to say my writing is even good in a fandom, I'm just like... over at the salad bar making my weird bizarre salad because no one thought to make that salad first and I got mad about it. I really don't expect anyone else to eat a salad that's mostly just onion and 1000 island dressing. And sometimes I don't think other people expect to like it lmao)

Daily Fic Highlight: Hoddmímis Holt

I'm very excited today because today the kudos email included:

"Hoddmímis Holt" is a Thor/Loki fic that takes place immediately after the events of Thor: Ragnarok and has a pretty simple premise. Thor and Loki admit they want each other, and then they spend the night having sex in a variety of ways and and finally talking through some things. 37,283 words, E, M/M.

If my memory is accurate, Thorki is the specific pairing that got me into reading fanfiction as an adult, on Ao3. I'm proud of my contribution to that ecosystem, even if I missed the major popularity wave.

I wrote a lot of this on my work email account at the time. At the end of the day I emailed what I wrote during the day to my personal email account, and then did as thorough a deletion of the sent email as I could figure out in my work account. And thus I was able to continuously look busy without setting an unsustainable pace for my official work.

“Loki, Loki,” Thor said, as softly as Loki had ever heard him speak. “I made my apology because I wanted you to know that I know I haven’t loved you the way I should.” This couldn’t be happening. That was all there was to it. “Well, neither have I, certainly.” Loki licked his lips. He couldn’t help it. And Thor watched. “Loki,” Thor said again. “Now, after everything, I want to tell you—I need to tell you—that I will gladly love you in whatever way you need to be loved by me.” “You can’t say such things, Thor. You…you have no idea how dangerous saying something like that is.” “Do I not?” Thor opened the circle of his arms to hold Loki more lightly. This, again, was a point when Loki should have resisted, when he should have pushed away, made a joke, said the cruelest thing he could imagine. But he didn’t. His mind was still reeling with Thor’s world-shaking offer. I will gladly love you in whatever way you need to be loved by me. Could he fix on the word need? Would that be enough to stop himself from ever telling Thor what he wanted? Because he could live without Thor’s love, of course he could—could he? When it was so plainly offered?

I had no idea. thank u for letting me know. i thought the 9239432843824923890 times they called each other "brother" in canon referred to them being brothers in arms or something. i thought they were just really good friends who lived together in the same palace and both referred to the same people as father and mother. omg. can't believe I totally missed that. I will definitely stop reading thorki fics immediately and will never post any thorki content again. Instead I'll just consume popular mainstream content like Game of Thrones. Which is totally fine. Bc it's made by HBO and thus allowed to portray problematic content without needing to be censored.

The wide corridors and high, vaulted rooms of Utgard’s palace were largely quiet and deserted at such an unreasonable hour, which allowed Loki to track the mysterious voice without the seidr noise created by all living things—and especially people—throwing him off the trail. He dragged Thor by the hand at a brisk pace, into the ever-taxing process of climbing and descending multiple flights of giant-sized stairs, through whole ruined sections of the palace where snow fell deep, until at last they trended down, down, down into rough-hewn rock.

“Do you have any idea where we may be going?” Loki asked.

When Thor gave a noncommittal hum in response, Loki looked back at him. His face was studiously blank.

“If you knew what was singing at me this whole time, I’m going to kill you,” Loki grumbled, picking up his pace down a long passage that would have been utterly black if it weren’t for the numerous witch lights he’d conjured and spelled to follow them, floating at waist height. They cast eerie shadows in the hollows of Thor’s almost glow-in-the-dark red eyes, lending him a true “monster from Asgardian campfire tales” appearance. Irritating, how endearing Loki found that.

“You did not tell me it had continued to bother you until now. And you are welcome to try, again,” Thor replied, earning a withering look.

At last they came to a heavy stone door, the surface carved with runes. 

“Oh! This must be the place, it’s been sealed with magic,” Loki said, rushing forward to sweep his mittened hands over the shapes as he deciphered them. Stopping for even a moment had his body wracked with shivers; it felt almost unnaturally cold in the ominous, black stone passage, colder than anywhere else on Jotunheim Loki had yet been.
