Jeśli kiedykolwiek miałeś wrażenie, że rozmawiasz z ludźmi, którzy zupełnie Cię nie rozumieją – ta książka jest dla Ciebie. Thomas Erikson, autor "Otoczeni przez idiotów. Jak dogadać się z tymi, których nie możesz zrozumieć", podjął się ambitnego zadania wyjaśnienia, dlaczego tak często nie potrafimy znaleźć wspólnego języka z innymi.

Zamiast jednak obwiniać świat, Erikson proponuje podejście pełne zrozumienia, a nawet odrobiny humoru. Korzystając z modelu kolorów (czerwony, żółty, zielony i niebieski), autor tłumaczy różne style komunikacji, jakie przejawiają ludzie. Dzięki temu prostemu podziałowi można lepiej zrozumieć zarówno siebie, jak i innych.

Moje wrażenia

Najbardziej podobało mi się, jak Erikson obala mit, że problem komunikacji zawsze leży po jednej stronie. To książka, która pokazuje, że nie ma idiotów – są tylko różnice w postrzeganiu świata. Dla mnie osobiście była to bardzo praktyczna lektura. Już po kilku rozdziałach zacząłem lepiej rozumieć ludzi w moim otoczeniu – czy to w pracy, czy w relacjach osobistych.

Oczywiście, książka nie jest idealna. Niektórym może się wydawać, że uproszczenie osobowości do czterech kolorów jest zbyt schematyczne. Jednak według mnie to właśnie siła tej książki – zamiast zagłębiać się w skomplikowane analizy, daje konkretny punkt wyjścia, który łatwo zastosować w praktyce.

Czy warto przeczytać?

Zdecydowanie tak, zwłaszcza jeśli interesujesz się psychologią, komunikacją albo po prostu chcesz poprawić swoje relacje z ludźmi. To nie jest poradnik, który obiecuje magiczne rozwiązania, ale narzędzie, które daje możliwość lepszego zrozumienia siebie i innych. Idealna pozycja dla tych, którzy chcą działać, zamiast narzekać.

Very interesting evening, to hear Thomas Erikson’s lecture about his book ’Omgiven av idioter’ (surrounded by idiots). It’s about behaviours and the colors that represents them. (Sorry, Swedish only). First picture is how the opposite colour (blue against Yellow, vice versa, green against red, vice versa and so on) - thinks about it’s opposite colour. I am green (calm, introvert etc), but I also have much of the blue in me (analyzing everything, calculates beforehand). The other picture shows how the ”colour’s” behaviors would give information to others via mail. Wish I had some red and some yellow too, but I don’t feel like I have any of the red colour in me.
