I'm a diehard fan on the idea that Knockout was previously a Seeker and became a grounder. Personally I go with the flow of that it was a personal choice to ditch his wings and other seekers (mainly Starscream) didn't approve of it ("yes, you're one of those" comment). Might I suggest an addition to the Seeker KO headcanon: his previous identity was Redwing :)
