Lost in Time- A Kenji Kishimoto series

Summary: Kenji Kishimoto and Leyla Demir, a time-manupilator, are accidentally transported decades into the past during a mission gone wrong. As they navigate a pre-Reestablishment world, their growing bond is challenged by the decision to alter history or return to their own time, facing the risks of changing the future.

A/n: Had this idea for a while and decided to just write it out bcs I couldn’t stop thinking abt it. But idk if I should make it into a whole series tho. Anywaysss, Hope you enioy and do leave comments if you wish to write your thoughts on this:)

"Absolutely not."

"But Warner-"

"I said 'no', Castle and I won't be risking Juliette's life for it either."

Castle let out a frustrated sigh as he shook his head, leaning forward on the table "You are clearly not hearing me! I am telling you that this is a life or death matter Warner-"

"I don't care-"

"What the hell is happening here?" Kenji came strolling into the small room with an annoyed expression on his face.

He heard Warner mutter something along the lines of "Great, another imbecile." but decided to ignore it and looked at Castle for an explanation.

The older man sighed and stood up from the small chair and crossed his arms. Warner too, got up, saying "It is none of your business."

Kenji just rolled his eyes and pointed to the exit hissing "None of my business? Excusez-moi but your whole little 'argument' can be heard on every part of the base which is why Nouria even SENT me to come check on you guys."

Warner stared indifferently at Kenji. "Well you can go back and tell her that everything is fine-"

"Nothing's fine, Warner, and you know it. The mission-"

"Is not happening." The boy snapped as he glared back at Castle before continuing "I have had enough with this pointless conversation. I am not risking my and Juliette's happiness by doing that right after we got married and while we are all repairing a broken world."

Kenji furrowed his brows as he looked between the two men. "Uhhh....what exactly are you guys talking about? What is Warner going to do?"

Castle shook his head slightly as he said, "I got intel that the Nexus Device is still out there which is why I called upon Warner to inform him on the matter."

"And try to send me on that mission of yours to get it back. Over a meaningless rumor." Warner finished for him.

Kenji just put up his hands, feeling more confused than ever. "Wait a second, what the hell is a Nex-blabla device?"

Aaron sighed out frustratedly as Castle crossed his arms "A Nexus Device. And what it is, is an important relic that was kept very well hidden within the Reestablishment. It is rumoured to have the power to manipulate time which is why, we need to retrieve it before someone else gets to it-"

"You said it yourself, Castle, it is a rumor and I won't be risking my wife's or my life to go on a mission over a something that is only a rumor, a lie."

Castle glared back at the blond boy as he said, "That doesn't mean anything, Warner. You should know better than anyone else that during a war, all possibilities must be taken into account-"

"This isn't war. Therefore, we do not have to take all possibilities, all cases into account-"

"IT IS A WAR!"

Castles angry shout seemingly shocked not only Kenji but also Warner as his eyes slightly widened before becoming cold once more.

Castle gave neither of them a chance to talk as he opened his mouth once again. "Do you know how many people are still out there, still angry with us for taking out the old supreme leaders of The Reestablishment? Do you know how many of them are out there planning coups, assasination attempts and so on, on your, Juliette's and the rest of our lives? Just because we took out the big guys doesn't mean everything's over."

Kenji saw how Warner was clearly about to retort with something cruel so quickly intercepted their argument. " Maybe- maybe you could send me? I mean Warner and Juliette are busy with being leaders and all that shit, everyone else is also busy with the whole aftershocks of a war and I....well, I wouldn't mind doing something exciting."

Aaron slowly turned his head sideways to look at him as he deadpanned, "Exciting? You call this pointless, imbecile plan to go after something that may not even exist....exciting? Of course I should have expected to hear something like this from you, Kishimoto."

Kenji shrugged his shoulders. "Well sorry mr. 'I find everything and everyone except my wife boring and have no joy in life' but some of us want to go on missions and do something EVEN those that may or may not be real."

"Your not even fit for it."

Kenji's eyes widened before he scoffed "I'm sorry? You are telling me that I am not fit for the mission?"

Warner stood fully straight, scanned Kenji from head to toe, looked back at him, letting his emotionless eyes convey the message.

Kenji balled his hands into fists. "You-"

"Actually Kenji, you are right. You may be even more suited for this mission than Warner or Juliette."

They both turned to look back at Castle who has been analyzing them both this whole time.

Warner replied with a "You have gone mad." at the same time as Kenji said "Hell yeah, I am."

Castle sat back down, still seemingly assesing Kenji. "Why not? I didn't realize it when I called you here, Warner, but your and Kenji's skills are incomparable. I think you would be easily caught. Kenji, however, has been trained like a true soldier. I believe he would be able to move, attack and do the job sharply, stealthily, and to the point. Of course his invisibility power is a whole other advantage. Look how well he did when I sent him to take Juliette out of the jail Warner built the first time around."

Kenji smirked and nudged Warner who roughly pushed him away. But then his smirk fell as confusion overtook his features. "Wait, doesn't Warner also have the ability to be invisible."

Warner rolled his eyes. "I do, but I can only do it if someone else does it near me and I take in their power. Do you really think that there is someone in The Reestablishment with powers? Really?"

"Ohhhh right, right. Totally forgot about your whole copying people-"

"It is not copying, it is just mirroring. You idiot."

"Same thing-"

Castles stern voice stopped them both from another argument as he said, "Alright that will be enough you two. Warner, you may leave. Kenji, stay."

Warner looked at him and then at Kenji before heading towards the door "Can't wait to tell Juliette about your death, Kishimoto."

Kenji just laughed and sat down on the creaky stool opposite of Castles desk. "Love you too, bro."

Castles got up and took two steps to reach the small, wooden cabinet near the window. He took out some papers before coming to sit back down, putting the papers on the table and spreading them out.

Kenji took one and began eyeing it. "This is a map."

Castle nodded as he said "Yes, a map of both the insides and the outsides of the whole area where some supporters of the old Reestablishment have taken refuge. Thanks to Sam, I was able to locate this place and get a proper detailed map on their residence. You will be breaking in here."

Kenji looked back at his friend "Quick question, how does this...whatever device look like?"

Castle sighed, "Nexus Device, Kenji. From what I know, It is supposed to look like a small, sleek and advanced piece of technology, almost like a wristwatch or a handheld gadget. You'll know it when you see it."

Kenji looked suspiciously at him "Aha....so just look for small things while also trying not to be killed or discovered, putting the whole resistance in jeopardy."

Castle smiles knowingly. "That is where you're wrong. You won't be going on this mission alone."

Kenji's rolled his eyes. "Please don't send me with anyone from here, God, especially not with Adam."

That caused his friend to chuckle before he regained his composure. "Actually, you have not met her. None of you have. You could say that she is a....good friend of mine."

Kenji's eyes widened. "Wait, what? You have friends?"

Castle gave him a stern look but that didn't stop him from slipping op and smiling slightly as he watched his close friend chuckle.

But then, as if realizing, Kenji's smile dropped as his eyes widened in horror. "Wait wait wait- A she? And none of us know her or ever met her? And you're sending her with me? Who the hell is she?"

"Leyla Demir, she is Turkish and the best trained killer I know with the most unique power. Time-manipulation."

Kenji leaned back with crossed arms, a confused expression overtaking his face. "Time-manipulation? You mean, she can stop time or some shit?"

"Language."

"Sorry, yeah, I mean- she can stop time or stuff?"

Castle smiled while slightly shaking his head. "It means, she can do anything that is time-related. Stop it, blink in to the future, the past, and even reverse it."

Kenji's eyes widened, mouth hanging wide open. "Jesus Christ. How can someone have such kind of power?"

Castle leaned back in his seat and regarded him with a knowing look. "You'll just have to see her for yourself. But do be careful, she is usually deathly quite and her answers are often short, straight to the point and cold. You won't be making much conversation with her but I believe that is what makes her so great at her job. She just comes, does what she is assigned to do, and then leaves."

Kenji scoffed, stood up and took the papers. "Oh I'll make her talk, alright. No one can ever resist the Kenji Kishimoto, after all."

He turned around, intending to head for the door before Castle stopped him. "Don't you want to know when you'll be heading out?"

He turned around with a sheepish smile. "Right, yeah. Uhh when do I need to leave?"

"This night, at eleven sharp. That is usually the time twenty-five minutes before the guards do their shift change which leaves the area unguarded for exactly three whole minutes."

Kenji nodded and turned around to leave but stopped once more when he heard Castle get up and look at him, worry slightly evident in his tone as he said, "Be careful, Kenji. I trust you and your skills very much but-"

Kenji smiled softly before saying, "I'll try my best not to die and if I do, tell Warner I will be coming back to haunt the shi- stuff out of him."

It had been a while since Kenji felt this amount of excitement. Before it was all about them fighting and figuring out how to bring down The Reestablishment and then, once they did that, they had a broken world to deal with. And while it was tiring but great how they were restoring and creating a better, more brighter world, Kenji admittedly felt very useless.

These past few months it was almost always "Do this Kenji" or "Don't do this Kenji" or "Maybe you shouldn't do that" or "Just go ask Juliette" or "I don't know, Kenji, you kinda mess things up. Just stick to easy day to day work."

So what he destroyed a building that had Juliette's wedding dress inside? So what if his attempts at organizing things ended in chaos? So what if he accidentally threw away a stash of documents Haider sent? It was all accidental, okay? Atleast he was trying his best.

"Useless, you're useless." Kenji scoffed to himself as he put on his weapons, attempting to cheer himself up with the mission ahead. Finally, some action. Something to distract himself from.

He has been analyzing and constantly checking the maps for the past couple of hours, planning the area from which he would sneak in, which room the Nexus device could be in. Honestly? The place doesn't even look big at all. Well, he will see it soon for himself anyway. Kenji looked at the electronic clock,

Time to leave on a little suicide mission.

With a final look in the mirror at himself, his black tactical gear, and all his weapons, visible and not-visible, Kenii left the house.

Twenty minutes later, he had managed to arrive at the location, turning off his invisibility and immediately hiding behind a large bush. Where is this Leyla? They only have four minutes left before the shift change. Whatever, if she doesn't show up, he is going in alone. He doesn't need a nanny to track along with him-

A sound came from behind him.

Kenji quickly took the small knife hidden in his boot and turned around, intending to land a shot at whoever or whatever is behind him but stopped when he saw the person.

He couldn't see her properly at all because it quite dark and she is wearing dark gear similar to his but from what he can see, atleast due to the faint light coming from the broken tall lamp beside them, if this woman is Leyla.....she is absolutely gorgeous.

An elegant yet strong build, warm, slightly tanned complexion, seemingly dark hair but what stood out the most....those otherworldly emerald eyes that could hypnotize you and look absolutely lethal as they stare back at him.

Kenji's trance came to a stop when she said with a slight hint of an accent, "I guess you're the idiot Castle told me about."

He didn't have the chance to reply as she wordlessly crouched beside him and looked through a small opening at the base.

Kenji collected himself and looked at her, asking "I-I am Kenji, this is the first time we meet."

She looked down at her watch, muttering a "One minute left."

He scoffed looking at the guards "Rude."

She still ignored him.

"Um anyways, how did you get to know Castle? I mean, we are like this close with him so I thought I would know about yo-"

She silenced him with a hiss.

"We have nearly twenty seconds before the shift change and I would very much appreciate it if you could just shut the hell up so we can get this over with and then go our separate ways."

He furrowed his brows in frustration. "What's wrong with you? I was just trying to be civil but I guess you wouldn't understand that since you are acting like a cranky old bit-"

She clearly either heard him and chose to ignore him or was too focused on the time because she quickly cut his rant off "It's time. Get up."

Kenji scoffed but got up, refocusing his attention back on the main goal. Get the device and get the hell out. It can't fall into the wrong hands. It can't.

He held his hand out for her to take, causing her to look at him with a raised eyebrow.

"How do you expect to get in there? Just walk in? I can make us turn invisible, just hold my hand."

She clearly didn't want to but looked at the base and then back at him before sighing and taking ahold of his wrist instead of his hand. He found it weird but just kept his mouth shut as they both turned invisible.

Kenji felt her hold on his wrist tighten as she adjusted into the feeling. He whispered silently as they began to walk, "Are you ok-"

"Shhh, guards."

Kenji didn't need any more explanation as he saw three guards in the distance seemingly talking with one another. Seems like an awful lot of guards for a small area. That could only mean that they do have something important to protect.

They began silently heading towards an open back door when a woman dressed in a black shirt and loose pants stepped out, standing right in front of the entryway with her head bowed down, looking at a....notepad?

Shit. How the hell are they supposed to move past her and get inside? It's not like they can just walk through her. Kenji felt Leyla's body stand closer to him as they both stopped and just stared at the woman.

Please, for the love of God, can she just-

"Mrs.Pierson, we have a report."

The woman lifted her head to look back at a bulky man who came from behind her.

"I don't have the time, Michael. Tell them if they are going to try and once again just prolong the matter-"

"No, mrs.Pierson trust me, we made it very clear to them that we don't have the patience for their games no more. And by very clear I mean....we used other methods to make them understand."

The woman--mrs.Pierson, apparently--smiled and said a simple "Good" and moved past the man.

What were they talking about? It sure as hell seemed quite crucial. Kenji really felt like he needed to follow them and it seemed like Leyla was thinking the same because she just gripped his wrist tighter with her gloved hand, and made him follow her as she took the lead, entering through the door and following the two strangers.

The hallway was extremely narrow and the walls looked like they are about to crumble down any second now. Kenji barely managed to not trip over something or make noise as he followed Leyla through the tight hallway. Honestly, it seems like she doesn't even have a problem with this. Not once has Leyla made a sound, moving so quietly making Kenji think that if she weren't holding his wrist right now, he wouldn't even be sure if she is still there.

Has she done this before? Of course she has, you idiot. Has she seen worse? What could possible be worse than the war they had? He wonders what she did during that time.

Stop it. Idiot. Why the hell do you care? Why do you even wonder?

Finally, they reached a small opening with only an open door in the center. The wallpaper's here were piss yellow and almost fully ripped off the walls. God, it's not like Kenji is currently staying in a luxury plaza but...what the hell is this shithole? And who the hell are these people?

They quietly came to stand in the entryway as they both took in the room and the people inside it. The woman and the man from earlier were here as well as two more people whom Kenji didn't know about. They were holding what looked like a medium sized, black, shiny box.

He felt Leyla about to step inside the room so he pulled her back immediately, getting the point across that they can stand here and listen. Surprisingly, Leyla listened as he felt her body freeze in one place.

Kenji and Leyla pressed against the wall, their breaths shallow as they listened to the muffled conversation inside the room. The two unknown figures were standing beside a table, the black box placed in the center. The woman—Mrs. Pierson—was now engaged in a conversation with a very short and fidgety man.

"We've had issues with the security systems," Mrs. Pierson was saying, her tone clipped. "Do you have the new codes?"

The man nodded, reaching into his jacket and pulling out a small, metal key. He placed it on the table next to the box. "This is the key to the main vault. It’s the last piece we need to complete the upgrades."

Mrs. Pierson’s eyes narrowed as she examined the key. "Good. The Nexus Device must be secured before the operation begins."

Kenji’s eyes widened slightly. The mention of the Nexus Device caught his attention. So it is something important. Hah! Kenji couldn't wait to see the look on Warner's face when he tells him that he was wrong.

The second man, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. "The vault's security is tight, but if we can get this device out, it will be worth the risk. The information we’ve received suggests it's an invaluable asset."

Mrs. Pierson nodded, a grim smile on her face. "Indeed. Make sure it's kept in a secure location until the time is right. We wouldn’t want anyone else discovering it."

Kenji felt Leyla’s grip tighten on his wrist. She was clearly assessing the situation, trying to plan their next move. He could sense her tension; she was used to dealing with high-stakes situations, and this one seemed to be no different.

As the conversation continued, Kenji’s attention shifted to the black box. It seemed to be the central focus of their discussion, and if it contained the Nexus Device, they were very close to their objective.

Leyla and Kenji slipped into the room, moving with the practiced stealth that Leyla had demonstrated earlier. Kenji's heart raced, but he kept his focus on the black box, which now lay tantalizingly close. Leyla quickly assessed the room, noting the positions of the two men and the security measures in place.

As they approached the black box, their movements were swift but not without tension. He quickly but carefully as to not touch anything and cause alert, dragged Leyla towards a corner of the room, far from the four people and the three guards currently discussing something in low tones.

"Let's go through the left side of the table, no one is standing there." He whispered so quietly, he thought maybe she hadn't even heard him. But Leyla's confirming squeeze to his wrist told him that she agreed.

Kenji crept closer to the box, his heart racing with anticipation. As he reached for it, he felt a sudden jolt in his power, a flicker of instability.

In that instant, Kenji’s invisibility wavered. He was momentarily visible—a ghostly outline against the darkness—before he could re-stabilize his power. It was enough. Mrs. Pierson’s eyes snapped to his position, her expression shifting from confusion to alarm.

“There’s someone there!” Mrs. Pierson shouted, her voice echoing through the room.

The men turned sharply, their eyes scanning the space. Kenji and Leyla’s invisibility wavered again as they scrambled to adjust their powers. Kenji’s face was now partially visible, caught in the beam of a flickering overhead light. The guards’ alarms were triggered.

“Get them!” one of the men yelled, rushing toward Kenji and Leyla.

The room erupted into chaos. Leyla moved quickly, drawing her weapons and engaging the guards with precise, fluid motions. Kenji, trying to regain full control of his invisibility, grabbed the box and fumbled with it, struggling to keep his powers stable.

Mrs. Pierson lunged for the box, trying to reclaim it from Kenji. He fought back, his movements erratic as he fought to maintain his invisibility. The struggle was fierce, and the room became a whirlwind of combat.

Leyla managed to fend off the attacking guards, her movements a blur of skill and precision. She glanced over at Kenji, who was wrestling with Mrs. Pierson and another man for control of the box.

“Kenji, let’s go!” Leyla shouted, urgency in her voice.

Gunshots were heard everywhere as Kenji managed to regain control over his body and become invisible, quickly runing and appearing behind one of the guards and snapping his neck, then moving on to the man named Michael and using one of the knives strapped to his body to stab his back, causing the man to crumble on the floor with a cry.

Leyla seemingly swiftly took care of the other two guards, her swift and fluid motions knocking out mrs.Pierson in the process. She wanted to kill her but the shouts from the outside confirmed Kenji's thoughts that there are more guards coming and they needed to get the hell out....like right now. He quickly grabbed Leyla and ran.

With the box secured, Kenji and Leyla made a break for the back door, their path now clear thanks to Leyla’s skilled combat. They dashed down the narrow hallway, the sounds of pursuit growing louder behind them.

Outside, they sprinted through the darkness, Kenji still trying to stabilize his powers. As they reached a corner of the building, Kenji glanced back to see guards pouring out, their shouts growing fainter.

Leyla skidded to a halt, pulling Kenji into a shadowed alcove. “We need to get out of here before they catch up.”

Kenji nodded, his breath coming in ragged gasps. “I think... I think I’m losing my powers.”

"No you are not. I think its the effects of being this close to the device that are affecting our powers. It's too strong! Even I feel my own powers waning."

Leyla, her breath steadying, glanced at the device. “We need to figure out what this thing actually does. There might be a way to use it to our advantage.”

Kenji nodded, looking equally determined and exhausted. “Alright, let’s see what we’ve got.”

They moved to a small, dusty and broken chair in the alcove. Kenji placed the box on it, and Leyla began to carefully pry it open. Tension was high, and they both felt the urgency of their situation.

As Leyla worked on the box, Kenji’s impatience got the better of him. He reached over to help, but his movements were rushed and clumsy. “Come on, hurry up! We don’t have all night.”

Leyla shot him a sharp look. “Slow down, Kenji. We don’t know what we’re dealing with.”

Kenji’s frustration boiled over. “I know! But we need to get out of here before—”

He accidentally knocked the box off the table with a jolt. The device tumbled to the ground, and the lid popped open. A strange, pulsating glow emanated from within, filling the room with a blinding light.

“What did you do?” Leyla shouted as she tried to grab the device, but the light grew intense, enveloping them both.

Kenji reached for the device, but it slipped from his grasp. As he tried to stabilize it, he and Leyla were both caught in the expanding radiance. The light grew brighter and brighter until everything around them was engulfed in a blinding flash.

When the light finally faded, Kenji and Leyla found themselves in an entirely different setting. The warehouse was gone, replaced by a landscape that was completely unfamiliar. They were surrounded by a complete and vast greenery, the sun was high and shining brightly, there were cows and sheep on the grass, large trees covering the area.

“What the hell just happened?” Kenji asked, his voice tinged with panic.

Leyla was looking around, her face pale with horror.

"Where- where the hell are we?!"

"In the past....or the future, I don't even know."

Kenji came closer to Leyla, eyes wide with shock and frustration.

"What the hell did you do, Leyla? This wasn't a part of the plan!"

The moment Leyla turned around to look at him, Kenji felt the air get knocked out of his lungs. He was wrong, her hair wasn't dark at all. The sunlight casted it's soft glows over them, allowing him to see her clearly. Her hair was a very light brown, seemingly slightly curly, her eyes were even more breathtaking under the light, and that face...her soft face that currently held an ice cold expression on it as she stared daggers at him.

".....so you are the one to blame, not me! don't you dare blame me!" Kenji realized then, that she had been shouting at him for the past minute but he completely drowned her words out as his eyes admired every inch of her uncovered body, which wasn't much really, just her face. But it was more than enough because....dear God he had never seen anyone look so beautifully innocent and yet be so cold and hurtful.

"What?" Kenji said with a soft smile, his eyes never leaving her face as his mind was still in his own world. She pinched his ear with her gloved hand, causing him to finally come back to reality as he hissed an "Ow! Why the hell did you do that?!"

She crossed her arms. "Listen, Kishimoto, we need to know the date for us to even know where the hell we ended up in. Time travel, anything having to do with time in general, isn't simple at all. One wrong move and you could end up in a place where you can't even get out of."

"Kishimoto, huh? So we are absolutely formal now?"

She sighed and looked skywards. "Out of all the things I said, this is what you are stuck on? And we were never informal to begin with."

Kenji smirked. "We could be informal too, if you only say the word--"

"Hey! What the hell are you doing on my lawn?"

They both turned around to see a man, presumably in his fifties, striding towards them.

Kenji pushed Leyla behind him as a serious expression overtook his face, readying to strike at any sign of danger. Leyla just scoffed and moved past him coming to stand beside him when the man reached them. Kenji was about to say something but she intercepted quickly.

"What is todays date, old man?"

The man looked at her and threw his arms in the air. "Old man? Old man?! I am only 58! And who the hell d'you think you are, heh? Coming into my lawn, my goddamn property unnanounced-"

Kenji heard Leyla's voice turn even icier, if it was possible, as she asked- no, stated in a threatening voice, "What date is it."

The man too, clearly got the memo as he quickly stopped rambling and looked between them, his hands fidgeting.

The moment he said the date, Kenji wanted to tear his hair off. They were in the fucking past! With no way out! or...

That's right, Leyla had her time powers! she could get them out, right?....right?

Leyla seemingly also understood what timeline they were in as she quickly dragged him away without saying another word to the old man, who was still muttering something under his breath but was too scared of Leyla to shoo them away. Once they were in the other side of the lawn, behind a large farmhouse, Kenji looked at her wide eyed, "We are in the past! Are you kidding me?! Is this actually happening?! What the-"

"Will you shut the hell up, Kishimoto? Yes, we are in the past, but....this past is different."

"How different?"

Leyla's eyes drifted behind him, seemingly lost in thought. "This is thirty years before the Reestablishment took over. I have been in thousands of timelines but never this, never this one."

Kenji's eyes widened as his mouth hanged open. He whisper-shouted "What?! So, you mean to tell me that there is no Reestablishment?1 No wonder this place is so vibrant and alive. Why didn't you ever come to this timeline?"

Leyla crossed her arms, her expression becoming indifferent once more. "That is none of your business."

Kenji sighed. She wasn't an easy one, that much was clear about her. "Whatever, now can you please use your little time traveling powers to get us back to our rightful timeline?"

"No, I can't."

Kenji felt the hope drain out of him. "No? What the hell do you mean, no?! Aren't you supposed to have these time-manipulating powers or whatever-"

"I do, alright? I do. It's just that they are absolutely depleted at the moment. The Nexus Device- it seemingly affected me more than anyone else because we both have the power of time. Like calls to like, it seems. We drained each others powers. I need a couple of days to recharge even half of what that stupid device took from me."

This was madness. Absolute madness. Kenji prayed that maybe this was some sort of a nightmare that he was in, that he would wake up soon and go about his day. But, alas, it was all very much real.

Also---I think I was wrong in thinking that the villagers' attitude towards yokai is different from the Wood Territory tribe. These guys may act like they like the "merfolk," but they're actually terrified of them to a manic degree.

This scene is disturbing as hell...

2) Nooooo!!! Poor Yakumo!!!

I feel so bad for him, for real! He has issues with controlling his yokai powers like ALL the time; poor babykins can't catch a break!!!

3) Ohhh, yeah, this makes a lot of sense. I feel dumb for not predicting this earlier.

I mean, the whole reason Eiden and Yakumo came to the island was to inquire about the recipe that included merfolk meat as an ingredient.

It makes no sense for the villagers to have a whole-ass ceremony to "honor" the merfolk; unless their true purpose was to appease the merfolks' anger.

I'm guessing that these villagers' ancestors hunted the merfolk in the surrounding waters---like a fucked up version of whaling. When they thought they hunted merfolk to extinction, they then feared that that they'd return and take revenge.

That's why, instead of being happy to see [what they think is] a merfolk, the villagers get scared and angry...

SECOND:

I'm sorry, but I am getting REAL sick of Kuya's bullshit. These last two events he's been an insufferable DICK.

This bitch always has something mean to say about everyone and everything, without even being provoked first. And he has the audacity to accuse others of hypocrisy when he's the worst offender?!?! Why can't he just shut up and leave people alone?!?!?!

Lately, his character seems to have gotten worse, and every scene he's in makes me feel miserable. It's just too much.

I really hope the devs will dial back his toxicity soon.

6) That's kinda weird...?

I'm confused about the rules of this fish-scale relic.

Why was Yakumo the only one that had strong side effect from touching the relic? It's not like he was the only one touching the relic; all of those human villagers + Eiden touched it an prayed over it, too.

Does the relic only react to all yokai essence?

Why was the relic designed to react to anything other than merfolk essence in the first place??? That seems highly impractical.

7) Ugh.

Look, I get it. I'm not saying he's wrong to point out that Yakumo's a special case---that most yokai would have too much trouble to live alongside humans without issue.

But he really didn't have to word it so rudely, or insult Yakumo by calling him delusional. 🤦‍♀️

Am I crazy, or do I detect a hint of jealousy here? 🤔

I know the intended interpretation of that second sentence, "But not everyone is as lucky as you are," is supposed to be in reference to Umi.

But idk, man; something about it (maybe his expression?) makes me think he could also mean himself? After all, as we see in the Forest Carnival event, over his long life Kuya has gotten acutely aware of the issues of human/yokai relations, and he is super pessimistic about it.

What if, part of the reason he's so pessimistic and disrespectful to humans is not just because he's experienced human cruelty, but because he wanted to get along with humans at one point and failed?

It's just a theory. 🤷‍♀️ If nothing else, that context would make for a good fanfic.

I knew the history was bad, but somehow this is even worse than I thought. Instead of the merfolk living around the island, they lived on the island, and those humans straight up committed genocide and stole their land!!!

It's safe to say, I'm certain of what the social commentary this event is aiming for now...

Step 2: Murder the people native to the land

Step 3: Retroactively mystify the culture of the people that were murdered

Step 4: Make cowardly attempts to "appease" those from the group you murdered, without returning what you stole in the first place

Pokemon Rejuvenation - Transcript Of Terajuma Friend Group Scene

This is a 1281 word long transcipt of a scene from Pokemon Rejuvenation. This scene is going to be dubbed by myself and a list of other people. This is being hosted by @kaitopedestrian but to make the process easier I've typed up this for myself and the others.

AELITA:   Hey, there she is! (A Pause) Melia, whatever happened to “Don’t stay out too late”?

MELIA:    Sorry, I didn’t even realise how late it’s gotten. (A Pause) I’ve just been staring out at the ocean.

AELITA:   It’s dangerous for a girl to be out alone like this… (A Pause) Especially when that girl has a bounty to her head!

MELIA:    It’s okay, Hapi is on lookout. 

HAPI:      Awesome shiny pokemon noises 

AELITA:  Oh… Guess he is. (A Pause) Still. You’ve been moping ever since we’ve gotten back.

MELIA:    Yeah, I kind of fell apart, I admit…(A Pause) I can’t believe we were tricked like that. As a result, we lost the Sky Relic…  (A Pause) What a major fail…

AELITA:   It’s not like we were tricked…Team Xen really was attacking the Weather Institute. (A Pause) We had to save them regardless. (A Pause) Plus there was nothing to suggest that Team Xen was after the Sky Relic themselves, so… (A Pause) It really isn’t our fault.

MELIA:    Sighs like a girl who had her entire life destroyed by a variety of factors far beyond her control and has since needed to act more mature and capable than she is actually ready to be and also is forced to keep secrets from the people who care most about her. Like seriously she doesn’t even get paid for this heroine shit. 

(A Pause) Yeah you’re right. I was just so hopeful, and to be kicked down like that… (A Pause) I dunno, I guess the glass finally gave way. (A Pause) What do I even say to the others? They were counting on us…

VALARIE:  Could just say hello.

SAKI:    HEEEY YOOUUU GUYS!!!

BRAIXEN: Mind if we join you~?

VALARIE:   I see… So that’s what happened?

MELIA:  Yeah… Zetta and Neved were trailing us and made us shift our attention to the Weather Institute. (A Pause) And because of that, they were able to grab the Relic and escape in a helicopter. (A Pause) It just feels hopeless now.

ADAM:  It’s clear you kids still have a lot to learn still. (He says this shit like he’s older than everyone else I guess? Don’t worry Saki will put him in his place in a minute. A Pause.) There’s always another solution. Even if it’s not immediately obvious.

VALARIE:  Adam’s right, Melia. You can’t give up because of one setback. (A Pause) I know you have more determination than that, or else you wouldn’t have come to rescue us at Blacksteeple.

MELIA:  The pressure’s really on this time, I guess.

BRAIXEN:  It’s true that the stakes are a taaad bit higher than last time. (A Pause) But we’re all here and able to fight, yes? Then there is no need to worry.

ADAM:  Remember, last time we were held back by the rules of Blacksteeple. (A Pause) This time no such limitations exist, and therefore we’re free to act how we want. (A Pause) At the end of the day, we hold a certain power over Team Xen just by existing. (A Pause) As long as we’re valuable to them, we can use that to our advantage.

BRAIXEN: Wow, someone decided to eat their veggies today, huh?

SAKI: The gears in that brain do be whirlin’ tho.

ADAM: Shut up…

VALARIE:  Okay, but I admire that about you, Adam. (A Pause) You’re like… The most optimistic pessimist there is. It’s refreshing.

ADAM:  All I’m saying is that you need to remember that we’re in it with you. (An extra dramatic pause) All of us.

AELITA: We’ll rely on you, and you’ll rely on us. I think that’s a fair trade?

MELIA: You guys…. (A Pause) I know we’ve only been together for a short time, but…(A pause as Melia steels herself to say something corny and embarrassing yet heartwarming and based) I just want you guys to know that each and every one of you feels like family to me.

SAKI: Duuh, you stupid doo-doo head. That’s because we are family.

VALARIE: A weird misshapen, but stable family. (A Pause) These next 18 days are going to be absolute hell, but we can make it through.

INTERCEPTOR: We have to!

MELIA: Interceptor is right. We have to. This isn’t the end.

AELITA:  Only the beginning!

ADAM: By the way, did any of you tell Crawli what happened? (An awkward silence follows, where everyone basically admits without saying anything that they didn’t tell Crawli)

MELIA: Oops.

AELITA: We did run into his dad. So maybe he said something.

ADAM: We should head back to the HQ then and let him know.

SAKI: Heehee… Yeah right, you just wanna go back to the HQ so you can see Sam again!

ADAM: What?

SAKI: I heard you last night! “Oooh Sam!” (A Pause so that the amazing and funny Saki can dodge the embarrassed Adam who chased after her in frustration) “Ooooh Sam. I just want you to hold me!” (A Pause before finishing her infantile taunt) “You’re so cute!”

ADAM: Saki if you don’t stop I’ll tear you in half! (Notice how he doesn’t deny it)

SAKI: Ooh good one. I bet you were saving that line for Sam too?

VALARIE: Oh dear…

BRAIXEN: Hey don’t run this way! You’ll make Adam run me over!

ADAM: Saki Blakeory… (You know it’s real when he uses her full name)

SAKI: Whomp whomp whomp! (This girl is meant to only be like a couple years younger than me. Fuck I remember when I started playing Rejuvenation I was the same age as her. What the fuck)

MELIA: Huh? Hapi? What is it, boy?

VALARIE: Guys, look!

MELIA: Madelis…!

MADELIS: Melia! It’s good to see you again! (A Pause) It’s only been over a month, but it looks like you’ve grown quite a bit!

AELITA: What do you want??

MADELIS: …Oh, and it looks like literally every single one of you is here. (A Pause) Why are you all here? (A Pause) I got a report that only Melia was on the beach, what’s going on? (A Pause) This was MY chance at getting the bounty reward all for myself!

GRUNT: With all due respect, Ma’am. That report was 2 hours ago. (A Pause) If you didn’t spend all that time getting ready and putting makeup on, then we would’ve gotten here 2 hours ago.

MADELIS: Ahaha…(A Pause) There must be some kind of mistake there. (A Pause) What you see is what you get. I don’t wear makeup~!

GRUNT: We have recorded footag-

MADELIS: What you see. Is what you get. Got it? (This is her shouting)

GRUNT: …Got it.

MADELIS: Well, I’m not stupid. I know I’m no match for ALL of you.

BRAIXEN: Debatable.

MADELIS: So I’m just going to leave. Just pretend this never happened! (A Pause) We never met here. Okay? Got it? Good.

MELIA: …You can’t be serious.

VALARIE: I think she’s incredibly serious.

GRUNT: Ma’am, we just got a report that the Sky Relic is secured at Helojak Island.

MADELIS: Could you come here for a moment? (A Pause while Madelis bitch slaps the Grunt so hard he falls to the ground) Ever heard of a text message, idiot?! (A Pause) Why would you say something like that aloud?!

GRUNT: S-sorry…

MADELIS: Get up. We’re going. (A Pause) Just know~! This isn’t over.

VALARIE: We figured that out already.

MADELIS: Hmph, well then.

MELIA: Helojak Island, huh? (A Pause) Thank you Madelis for taking 2 hours to put on makeup.

SAKI: Fam, we gotta tell Crawli about this right away.

MELIA: Crawli’s probably in his office at this time. (A Pause) Hopefully he hasn’t gone to bed yet…

They weren't getting anywhere with this. Link moved to push the boy aside, but he was faster. The kid grabbed his arm and yanked him forwards with surprising speed, and the next thing that Link knew he was staring up at the point of a sword.

The boy quirked an eyebrow at that. His sword lowered, just a bit. “Me too. Uh, my name’s Link, as well.”

They stared at each other again, dumbfounded.

so Relic (that’s the Link from the past) is very very focused on finding his friend Zelda. that’s his highest priority. that’s the only thing that matters to him rn. he is SO worried about her, he can’t stop thinking about her and hoping she’s okay and thinking about all the bad things that could be happening to her rn. it’s literally his job to protect her, and it’s one that he takes so so seriously. she’s everything to him y’know? (I love them sm—)

and he’s so very lost rn, he’s in this place that feels so familiar but he’s not sure why and it’s so trippy. and here’s the first living soul he sees after this whole mess started, and he’s got a sword drawn and is so ready to throw hands 😭 and even tho Relic has completed all his training by this point, he’s got like 0 actual practical experience, but that doesn’t stop him from being very confident in his abilities sjshskshksks

and yeah he meets his match here lol. Relic’s more powerful, technically speaking, but Ruin puts up one heck of a fight 🫶

speaking of Ruin, most of his perspective on this scene is unfortunately in spoiler territory rn 💔 so remind me to come back to this at a later date. BUT I will say that he is very very very sus of this guy (Relic) poking around in these ruins. like who does that? (other than Ruin, of course. but surely he has his reasons)

also I think it’s hilarious that Relic is so perturbed by Ruin also being named Link when surely it is a very common name in Hyrule akshaksbjabsksja. he literally cannot get over it 💔

“Tea please come with me.” Oren whined as he grabbed on my hand. “No, it seems…catchy.” I say as I wiggled my hand from his grasp. “How the heck did she even find you? And also you don’t know that woman. At. All. May I remind you.” I roll my eyes. “Others would be angry if I would ask them, come on we don’t even have to wait in line for them. At all.” I sighed, he was right I’m the one who is the ‘not so angry’ friend. “Fine but I will kill you if anything happens.” I said as he happily walks out of the house and I follow him.

We got into a car that was parked in front of our house. A woman sat in a back already. She introduced her self as Billie and let me tell you, she was this gorgeous blonde haired woman dressed in black T-shirt and white pants with white coat over it. In front in the drives seat sat a red haired woman and a man beside her. We got to a loading dock with bunch of bins. They opened one and it was full of boxes with shoes. “You can pick what ever you want, all of it even.” Billie says with a smile. Oren’s eyes lit up I smiled. “I’ll stay outside, I’m not that much of shoes maniac, thanks tho.”

The whole time I was standing outside of the bin with a redhead that was Billies bodyguard I guess. We had a small talk where I found out her name was Kacey then we asked each other random questions. Turns out we have a lot in common. I wanted to point it out but than I hear “Your friends lives … for the relic.” I turn around looking at the blonde woman who was on the phone probably with Jess. I looked at Oren frightened. I’ll happily kill him now. “Oren!” I say with wide eyes. “I’m sorry okay? I didn’t know.”

When Jess a agreed to give her the relic I was relieved. We got into the car again as we drove to the meeting spot. I was looking outside through the window but I could feel someone’s eyes at me. I turn my head and notice Billie looking at me. I looked at her for a few seconds before going back to watching the outside. I couldn’t stand having eye contact with her. She was intimidating, but probably the other or the actual reason would be that she’s really and I mean really good looking.

We arrived to some museum gift shop. “You stay here. They’ll bring you in when it’s time.” Billie said as she went inside. We didn’t wait long before Kacey and that guy brought us inside too. “Oren thank god.” I heard Jess said. I could see Billie turning to us to look at me but before she managed to look me in the eyes I turned my head away. After a while I turned back watching Jess giving Billie the relic. Then she motion us to go to our friends. When I was passing her she grabbed me by my wrist. “They’re not really good friends now are they?” She whispered to me. I looked up at her. I tried to look like I don’t know what she’s talking about but I bet that my eyes were telling a whole different story. “I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.” I got out of Billie’s grasp and went to them but they were talking to Oren already. I turned around to look at Billie as she was leaving the Antenna starts beeping. It ended up with guard coming to her and wanting to search her purse witch she didn’t have. He apologised and wanted to leave but Jess quickly said: “She kidnapped our friends.”

Billie turned around once again. Jess looked at me hoping I will say something. I looked at Billie. I could see her shaking her head, showing I should say no. I looked at Jess and than I looked at the guard. “Eh n-no, that hat to be misunderstanding nothing like that happen.” I said looking over his shoulder at Billie. She was smiling as she went away. We than all went to Jess apartment.

“Why didn’t you say anything!” Jess yelled at me. “I don’t know, I wasn’t even the reason for this to happen! You should ask Oren he’s the one that brought me with him!” I explained angrily. “Don’t bring Oren into this.” I looked at her with wide eyes. “Don’t bring O- are listening to yourself Jess?! I wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for him!” Everyone else was just watching the scene play out. Nobody stopped us, until I’ve decided I’m done. “You know what Jess? I’m done, with all of you. Just done. Oren? I’ll move out as soon as possible. I can’t do this anymore, be the last choice even in friend group.” I said as I quickly got out of the apartment and walk down the street. I didn’t wanted to cry I really didn’t, but as soon as I stepped into the streets I couldn’t stop it anymore. Tears silently rolled down as I walked around. I had to go to Orens eventually and get the stuff but I couldn’t, not now. It was getting quite late and so I decided to go to a bar I knew was close.

I ordered a drink and sat in one of the booths. As I sat there starring at the drink I wanted to cry again. I could feel a tear rolling down but I won’t cry again, not here at least. “What’s a pretty girl like you doing here alone with her emotions.” I know I shouldn’t know that voice, but really I couldn’t get it of my mind. I looked up to meet the coffee eyes of the woman who kidnapped me. “Do you want to kidnap me again or what?” I said quite harshly. “No not at all, I’m sorry you weren’t really part of the plan actually.” She said as she said on the other side of the booth. It shouldn’t have hurt. But it did. ,You weren’t really part of the plan, of course I wasn’t. I never am. “So what’s your point? To laugh at me? That my friends are fake or they don’t care about me?” I said as I looked at her. She had smirk playing on her face. “I came to give you a deal perhaps.” She shrugged. “Join me, I know you talked with Kacey and she likes you, or she doesn’t mind you at least and that’s something. I know you’re part of the brains in your friend group, you could get revenge on them by joining and helping me.” I sat there quietly. Should I do it? What I’ll have to lose anyways. “Fine, I’ll do it, I’ll show them they should have care about me.” I said and she smiled. “Great to hear that darling.” She brought her glass to mine and clinked them. “To new friendships.” I raised my brow. “Friendships? Well I guess we see where it ends.” I said as I drink a little of it.

Truly. School festival? Wild i dont think ive ever been to one of those. Not sure mine ever had them but im glad you had so much fun! Its not completely finished yet i get that done next week but its very cool i love it. I have like. 12 piercings now with still more i want. They were a slippery slope from getting two to all the ones i have & want but i hope you're able to get some in the future. I think i like my eyebrow & lip piercings best. Thats a wild difference damn. Its been sunny mostly cool days right now but we keep going from warmer days to rain/snow warnings here. Oh hell yeah congrats! FOR FUCKING REAL but at least using acheron in sim uni lets one skip the non boss battles so thats a massive timesaver and also makes dealing with the swarm a lot less problematic. since you only have to deal with the big guy at the end and not trouble yourself with the occasional encounter on the way. seriously tho acheron is so cracked in sim uni. she let me get the achievement for finishing every battle with all allies at 100% hp. im currently using band of sizzling thunder + inert salsotto [LOL] on her!!! as i said. scuffed but does the job for now. but im gonna get her pioneer diver of dead waters + izumo gensei and takama divine realm since i heard thats whats best on her. and yeah her kit is super fun!! and have fun with that!! honestly fair, tho im just stuck in my holy trinity of hi3 - hsr - noita. also i love the bartender event a lot both story and gameplay wise. very very cool. and thankies!!!!!!!

Academy of Ages’ theme is based on the school life and brings back classic monsters from Rage of Bahamut to this universe, and it also introduces the new story mode characters. Each class represents an aspect of the academic life, such as Dragoncraft focusing on the sport clubs, or Rune Bringing back Manaria and magic studies; Portalcraft, too, shows us the academic moments of a competitive robotics club.

The Machina trait comes back in this expansion and mixes with the new Academic trait to make Portalcraft play around summoning Assembly Robots and destroy them for higher payoffs, but, are these cards good enough? how will they mix with the existing sets? It’s time to give them a read and see for ourselves.

Bronze Cards

Focused Beam: Oof, not a good start, I like the art, tho. Summoning two analyzing artifacts and dealing damage to a target follower is good but that 4-cost is detrimental for the playability of this card. Merciless Voiding hasn’t rotated out and does the job better. 1/5.

Ancient Relic: Surprisingly better than Beam, but it is, still, not good enough, its cost being higher than 5 once again revives my hopes for a calamity-like pay off in the making, as well as providing two free evolves which should count for something. In the meantime, this card is not a staple. 1/5.

Gun Collector: This card is a remainder that the Resonance package is still in rotation, the machina related effect is nice but not the main take from this card, I see it watching play, either during these first three weeks or as a tech. 4/5.

Sumo Mechanic: The first of the Academic/Machina Cards is a ward that provides an Assembly Droid through last words with a nice pay off is we have destroyed enough Machina followers, which looks doable at least. A staple in Academy Portal, the heling is nice. 4/5.

Silver Cards

Puppet Waltz: A good control tool with an Enhance Effect for those that still will play Enhance Portal (me), not much to say about this card, its effect is simple but solid. 5/5.

Gioffre, Diligent Engineer: I like the Assembly payoff more than the vanilla card, It won’t be mulligan priority but will see play in Academy decks. 3/5.

Hoverbiker: My man Draconitron is now in Portalcraft, Hoverbiker is the best amongst the academy cards so far, simple and effective. 5/5.

Gold Cards

Robotic Arm Rescuer: There will be time when you won’t need certain followers and this guy helps you unclog your hand, if Academy ends up paring up with puppets for early survival, this card transforms your Enhanced Puppets in Assembly Droids. 5-cost that summons a copy of itself and heals through last words, that’s pretty good. 4.5/5.

Robotics reporter: This card is really good, turning your droids into puppet-like followers to help deal with the board and accelerate your winning condition makes it valuable for the Academy playstyle. 5/5.

Legendary Cards:

Gretina, Champion Fighter: The Academy payoff is this legendary card whose effects we’ve seen in previous cards, but it doesn’t make it less exciting, it does, however, remind me more of Ennervating Mail than the evo blood guy. She can, and will, hit hard. 4.5/5.

Lyelth, Immaculate Idol: Last, but not least, is one of the characters from the Laincrest story, a nice card that synergizes well with the current puppet portal build, making it a staple, but I’m not sure it replaces Lishenna or Jetpack Gunner completely so we’ll see how it fares. 4/5.

And there we have it, a bunch of new robotics cards that, ironically, lack innovation, but that won’t make them less strong. The neutral cards will also play an important role in Portalcraft’s performance during the next expansion, so look up to it.

In the meantime, I’ll probably will be hardgrinding because I need the Maysia Skin and the three missing poll winners.

So reader is basically an immortal half-elf who've lived for centuries and a well refined fighter. Well at the beginning even tho they volunteered to tag along on traveler's journey to find their sibling, reader is rather obnoxious and a lazy-dork who only help when actually needed. But as the journey continues, they began to act like traveler's bodyguard after witnessing (archon quest spoiler!) traveler almost getting killed by the Shogun? And maybe random shenanigans happen between them (ft.Paimon). I don't mind if you do either Aether or Lumine if you feel pressured 🙏

Aether always thought that immortality brought with it wisdom, beings who live for much longer than an ordinary human tend to gain an understanding of life and changes in the world after years of appreciating the passing of the ages.

But when he met you he couldn't help but feel that all his beliefs were based on fiction and old rumors from other worlds. You were anything but wise, not even his first choice to be the voice of reason.

Even Paimon takes her role as his guide seriously.

But what was so wrong about you that get him on his nerves all the time? And most important, why does is he still dealing with you?

To be fair, maybe he was waiting a little too much from you. After all, he always forget that you still have half of a human’s nature.

“Mmh? What are you doing?” You asked Aether the first time he removed your hair from your ears to see if they were pointy. They were, and Paimon yelled kind of a objection when she realize she had to pay for losing their bet.

Not a human, not a elf, but a hybrid between them.

The first encounter was really something he would never forget. Rumors about treasures and requests from the guild made them follow some clues to find a cave that was marked as lost, impossible to enter and explore.

But “impossible” is a word that doesn’t exist their vocabulary. Yet is common that regretting comes along when you’re that bold and risky.

At the very end of that strange cave there wasn’t a treasure waiting, not even a new clue to keep going with the mystery. Instead, was a humanoid silhouette, they seemed to be meditating, not showing a single interest in their voices neither getting nervous because of Aether and Paimon taking some steps forward to have a better look.

But they were breathing, and both could see the pupils moving slightly under their eyelids. Eyebrows twitching now and then, like they were having a nightmare, one of which they couldn’t wake up.

Paimon encouraged him to get even closer to shake that person's shoulder, while she was hiding behind some rocks, obviously.

Aether summoned his sword and then he approached slowly until touching them with his fingertips, waiting for some kind of jumpscare.

The stranger raised their arm, carefully but also in a robotic way. Their fingers were tense, as much that it was painful just looking at them. Like a quiet call, like a order that couldn’t be heard, from the pile of rocks where Paimon was hiding something emerge, breaking through the stone and letting a rusty polearm to be seen.

Their fingers closed around the weapon, bringing them back to reality.

“Master and weapon, reunited again, rise so the world can meet their end!”

Or at least that's what he would have preferred to find. A servant guarding a lost relic, a soulless body moving by a curse, perhaps even a fate that death could not prevent.

But instead it was something really underwhelming, something that broke the mystical and strange atmosphere. That person opened their eyes, annoyed by the light of the torches and disoriented by the situation.

With their body in pain and numb at the same time, how long have they slept in that position?

The first thing they did after waking up was sneezing.

‘So much dust…’

Never accepting missions for exploring legendary caves ever again. Nope. Negative. He refuse to.

“It seems that we found the remains of an ancient race that used to exist in Teyvat.” Aether said, still surprised by the way you roamed to feel the wood of the trees and the grass under your bare feet. Kind of heartbreaking.

“Like the boar we found with Xiangling!”

He wasn’t sure if it was okay to compare both encounters but he could see her point.

“… ‘Wait for us’, they told me, ‘think about your existence and find the answer to why your conception is not the atrocity that everyone says you are. May their words not reach you, because we have long ears to hear the words of the gods and not the ones of those who defile earth’… ” You pronounced after decades of not needing to use the language you were taught, with one hand on your chin and eyes closed to concentrate. All you had left was the few memories you preserved inside your mind and heart.

“With ‘they’ you mean your parents?”

You nodded.

“And what happened next?… ” Asked back the tiny companion of the blond guy that rescued you.

“I got bored and I fell asleep.” You admitted, carefree about it, shrugging your shoulders and sighing.

“Eh!? Then you didn’t thought about those things? That sounded important!” Paimon seemed disappointed for your answer, while Aether held his forehead, without having a clue of how he was supposed to react.

That was the day you joined their party! New team member, (Y/N) strikes in!

“H-Hey! We could use a hand over here!… woah!” The little white girl scold you but from your high sit on the top of a big rock only a exaggerated yawning can be heard. Paimon crossed her arms to almost immediately duck down to dodge a fire bullet from the Fatui. Aether didn’t say anything, he was concentrated fighting.

“Oh, yeah… You’re doing great. Go, Aether, go…”

“Was that supposed to be a cheering?!”

“Hey, calm down” You said “He doesn’t need my help. Just take a look, he’s an adventurer. If I meddle it will be really boring for him.”

“Hmp! Now Paimon believes that you were lying when you said that you were a well refined fighter!” She was floating around you, ignoring the battle of his blond friend. Like a pesky bee, the only thing you did was avoiding her furious gaze. “Don’t ignore Paimon! How can you not hear with those ears!? That’s it! Paimon will give you a ugly nickname!”

“What about ‘extinct deaf elf-der’?”

“Yeah, that’s a good one!” She agreed immediately, then she shook her head, pointing at you like a guilty criminal. “Wait, Paimon doesn’t need your suggestions!”

When the last Fatui was defeated Aether turned back to face both of you, sighing because of the new arguing between you two. His sword disappeared and some steps were took to get closer.

Your eyes met each other, a slight smile in your face after looking him safe and sound. So confident but so unaware of the remain danger hiding. Your expression became a surprised one, then your gaze sharped like a killer sight.

You left Paimon on top of the rock when you jumped down, summoning your own weapon you ran straight to where Aether was. The traveler panicked just a fraction of second before loosing sight of you.

Next thing they know was that a you were behind him, facing at the nothing with a defensive pose, just a second of silence before a impact could be heard. Some dirt and dust was lift as the pair of Fatui Pyro Agents became visible again. They stayed there, defeated in one hit.

“Like I said. It would be pretty boring if I meddle...” Aether and Paimon were shocked, none of them felt their presence, not even the heat of the pyro delusion. Your weapon disappeared in the air, and your hands rested on your waist. “Dear Seven, that was intense.” Looking at your friends you sighed, with the laziness on your body language. “It was my turn to cook dinner, right? What a pain having to eat again… ”

Acting that relaxed after that really made them went Ô_Ô and Ö

A silent speech, where devotion and gratitude are the best topics of conversation. The message that is heard even if there’s no words in between. Just a exchange of gazes. Little signs of affection that are shown when it’s necessary.

Your family was gone. No clues about their whereabouts could’ve found in that cave of where you came. Not even the skeletons of a couple holding their hands and petrified in a sobbing position. Not even ashes.

When you have been thinking about the most unimportant things in the universe for so long you can deal with the lost faster than anyone else. Getting the idea of no remain evidence of your parents and feeling that it wasn’t that heartbreaking.

Maybe because you gained a new family almost immediately.

Still you could empathize with Aether, he still had his precious memories with his sister, still remember her face and her voice. And most important was that he knew that she was still roaming Teyvat, waiting for him.

Even if they leave behind Paimon and you at the end of the trip.

Or even if they just leave you behind.

You thought, stroking Paimon’s hair when her head found a comfortable place to rest in your lap. You thought, moving your shoulder so Aether wouldn’t have neck pain. Both sleeping peacefully and you staying awake night by night.

“Are you… are you sure that you’re okay? We don’t have to find the Sangonomiya resistance today. If you need to rest then-” Your hands were shaking when you placed them in Aether’s shoulders, holding yourself for tearing up.

You had the answer to that, but you weren’t sure about telling him.

“Because everything supposed to be boring. Nothing really changed a lot and… looking at the familiar places was depressing.” So easy, so simple, but still enjoying the company, still enjoying the sound of theirs laughs and their own shenanigans. “… Lately, I’ve been thinking that I should not had left the cave. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate that you two helped me to be back at the surface, and I really want to help you on your journey, but if you still run into the chaos by own decision I think I could not follow you any longer before being a burden in your adventures.”

These day could be described like that.

“So, before I do something worse as an excuse of defend you, please let me find a cave to await. You do what’s is needed and… call me back, or leave me there, anything you think it’s better… ”

You could be pronouncing the words from the very bottom of your heart, but still your face was the same seriousness as the accident almost happened.

And even with that you felt his gloved hand removing the hair that was covering your right ear, revealing how it slightly leaned down, showing sadness unwittingly.

“Hey, cut it out… I’m serious about this… ”

“It doesn’t matter if you think that it’s the best option, you’re still sad about leaving.”

Neither Aether nor you slept that night, the blonde had to listen for hours to all the things that you ever wanted to complain about since you arrived in Inazuma.

You made your position on joining the army of the rebellion very clear, you had no intention of fighting to seek "justice" or "peace". Because after all, that fight did not correspond to you, but if he asked you to, you would protect some soldiers or help to guard the barracks, if he asked you to, you wouldn’t complain about it (at least not that much).

Things I liked about Halo (TV) (Keep in mind we only have 1 episode. It's way too early for me to form a full opinion):

Natural Formation

Chief behind the wall waiting for his shields to recharge. Like, that's The Halo Experience.

That Pablo didn't imitate Steve. It may sound a bit too Mandalorian-y, but this is a different universe Chief so I'm ok with it. (Like, I have TWO Chiefs now. Life's good mate).

Action sequence at the start.

The fact that this is a separate timeline. I don't have to worry about writers ruining other mediums now (IF it goes wrong) so without that worry it's much easier to have fun. Smart move from Paramount after the SW Sequel fiasco.

Keyes/Halsey drama. Sign me up.

Silver Team. Sure, they're not Blue Team, but I like them already. Besides, Vannak gives me Sev/Paz vibes, so that's a plus.

Mjolnir Armor. You need to modify it irl because of stunt scenes and there's no way around that, so taking that into account; It was perfect imo. Also can't believe ppl are complaining about his footstep sound - it sounds fine, dude. At this point you're just nitpicking.

Pablo's acting. He's doing great considering the material he's been given.

Halsey. She's different, but in-timeline context I like this take on her SO FAR.

Things that could've been better/I'm not sure about:

Helmet scene. I don't mind a helmet scene at all because it's not like Spartans are (Children of the Watch) Mandos; but I think it was waaay to soon. Wait until ep 3 at least.

Miranda Keyes. It's way too soon to see where they'll take her, but she is a really different character.

Chief's humor. Sure, he is not main timeline Chief, and we got a glimpse with the bolts-microchips line, but I need the game sarcasm back, it's just too Chief. Hope they put it in the upcoming episodes. I mean, remember the crash scene with Cortana? He definitely had the BIGGEST shit eating grin under the helmet. You know John is a prankster at heart.

The weapons sounds. Should have been the same from the games - they would fit well and they are already using the game sfx for everything else, so...

The Covenant girl. I suppose the covenant keep her as nothing more than a forerunner relic opener, but...eeeeeh. Too soon to judge, but I don't vibe with this.

Captain Keyes. I don't mind the actor being black at all (Jesus, people). My only criticism is that he was, uhm pretty different from the games in terms of personality. That may not be a bad thing (?) but we'll see where this goes. Acting was great, however.

Timeline's pretty wonky, since this is before the Fall of the Reach but with elements from after that event. It's quite weird. But, considering that, I don't mind Chief's face being young and not-scarred. It's just fine.

Could use more game music. I get there are some disagreements with the composer (I think?) but ffs Microsoft just pay they guy or whatever and get back in route.

Cortana thing...it's way too early to judge for me, but it gives out weird vibes. Idk. Also, Halsey's relationship with the Spartans. Not... bad, per se, but weird.

Things I Did Not Like:

Kwan. Christ I'm trying to be empathetic but God she's annoying, and, much worse, pretty stupid. "Independence for Madrigal" where everyone is dead and am pretty sure nobody's visiting. "I can tell the other colonists the Spartans did it" ahahaha yeah you do that; the Covenant wipes out the entirety of humanity, then what? Hope you enjoy being the sole survivor a g a i n.

Good on the actress for working with that script tho.

Episode 1 with Chief running away with her is too much like Mando running away with Grogu, and even tho media was inevitably going to compare Halo TV to Mando, I really hope they aren't going down that route, it's just not going to work when Mando did it better. Also, Grogu is at least a cute little alien, Kwan's hair is a crime against humanity, poor girl.

Gun doesn't work for the insurrectionists but the moment Chief picks it takes down 3 aliens per second. He pulls the trigger harder, I suppose.

The UNSC being written like ONI. Like UNSC is authoritarian and shady, but no as much as ONI. Also, neither is stupid, which is literally what Parangosky was when she turned killing Kwan into this Super Important thing. Real Parangosky would just put her in a cell if she doesn't wanna collab until she cools down or smthing like that. Also, contemplating attacking Chief, omg.

Even UNSC in games was pissed whenever Chief said no, but they wouldn't dream of antagonising their best soldier. It get this is related to TV UNSC being much more controlling over Spartans than Game UNSC, (something I also didn't like, Spartans need a long leash to be creative like supersoldiers should be, game UNSC got that). At least she was smart enough to realize stopping him would take everything she's got.

I get it's a TV show limitation, but I'm just too used to Chief towering over everyone like, even more. This is more me talking minor stuff than a real critique, but I had to say it.

All in all, I'm liking the show a lot so far.

- Let’s be honest here, Eren would be a gamer Youtuber

- He’d rage pretty easily imo if the gaming is intense. Think reactions like GeorgeNotFound when he’s low on health, but like, angrier.

- “NOOOOO! I’LL KILL YOU ALL.” Stuff like that. Takes PVP SERIOUS 🤬

- If he were to play Minecraft, I bet he’d do speedruns all the time just to kill the Ender Dragon over and over again. Also loves those games where you actually influence the outcome (especially if they have a time-traveling aspect)

- I think he’d talk about his philosophy like Pewdiepie sometimes. Kinda just going on about his beliefs

- Some fans do be loco though. In a weird worship way

- No introduction. Boy just starts cleaning and adds soft background music, ASMR-ish

- Like Dream and CORPSE Husband, he wouldn’t show his face whatsoever. They probably want him to reveal his hands because he wears gloves though

- There are tea videos with written reviews and such for every subscriber milestone. Pretty chill and wholesome 🍵

- Finally gives the people what they want and reveals his voice when he explains why his tea is superior to everyone’s. It’d be a livestream where he’d answer questions and talks about wanting to open a tea shop.

- His fans adore him. They give him a ton of money for his tea shop dream, very sweet.

- Only problem I see is that some people may take it too far and dox him :(

- These two would share a channel and you cannot change my mind

- I feel like they’d be the type to do random challenges, vlogs, and food reviews 🥘

- Maybe there’d be one mukkbang at 10 million subscribers. But NOT the American kind where it’s excessive and stuff. They’d do their best to be respectful and traditional to the Korean origins

- Their fans ship them and they finally reveal they started dating

- When they finally marry (I wish this was canon so bad), everyone will rejoice. 💍

- I think Mikasa would have a channel for fitness. She’s - after all - a muscular QUEEN

- She’ll give you those rare compliments in her videos for encouragement and it makes her fans swoon

- Everyone is amazed by her fitness, so I think it’d be like a Chloe Ting type of thing where she takes the fitness world by storm. I stan 🏃🏻‍♀️

- Helps other Youtubers get fit in challenges, aka mostly Eren

- She gets recognized all the time, and she only minds when they get annoying. Doesn’t want pics tho

- Would probably have a controversy because someone got their butts handed to them for invading her space 😔 no means no

- My baby boy would be that informational channel that somehow makes seemingly boring facts so much better. He posts random things based on his whims and interests. It won’t matter because his passion translates well for the audience

- He LOVES when his fans talk to him about their interests. Baby boi makes fans feel like friends ☺️

- Everyone is shook when he reveals he has a girlfriend by accident. Gee, I wonder whoooo 👀

- A lot of his fan mail will probably be relics of the ocean. I see a lot of sea shells making their way in his PO Box

- A huge milestone video is one dedicated to his mom, with the centerpiece being an omelette to surprise her. Eastern audience would appreciate it the most because we gotta respect our parents and elders (I’m Chinese btw)

- Made a video for Sasha & Connie’s engagement party because he wanted to surprise them with meat. Now, people want him to collaborate with Levi for a tea party

My FFVIC SCHolar cosplay! 

It's the first costume I made myself! From the wig styling, the hat, the clothes and decals, the relic, and to Selene! 

I underestimated this design since I've never sewn clothing then, but I had to see this project through with brute force!!

I used a huge food calorie dictionary and redesigned it to become the Omnilex Zenith Relic weapon! Mistakes were not allowed since the leather glue I used was potent and caused a chemical reaction! It's still the easiest part of the costume tho HAHAHA!

It took me a lot of courage to share these since it was during my younger years... It's like sharing baby pics! >m<); I'm a little embarrassed but seeing a lot of people post their FFXIV cosplay gave me strength! ^-^)9 I was also an amateur so the fit of the costume was baggy. But I'm happy I was able to finish it within a month before the day of the event x_x; Selene was also very behaved since she didn't fall off my shoulder in the event I hope to be able to cosplay my main, WHM, someday!

If any of you guys were wondering, I chose to cosplay SCH over WHM af gear because I thought it would be simpler (HAHAHAHA! The fool I was!) And I didn't want to be too invested or expect too much since it was not my main and was gonna be my first cosplay made purely by myself.

Will you stick to traditional values at the steep diplomatic cost that may entail? Or, against the advice of your clan’s leadership and some of your close friends, will you try to change the very fate of the Cine, their role in the world around them?

RO after my own heart: Pan. There's no words to describe how much I love this magnificent bastard. They are my favorite RO ever too and a big inspiration for some of Roach's mannerisms.

From the author's fingers: The game is basically a fun (I hope), swashbuckling Indiana Jones-em-up, in which you play as a 1930s archaeologist trying to locate a number of occult artifacts before various nasty types can get their hands on them. There will be high adventure in far-flung corners of the world, wacky stunts, Nazi-punching, the possibility of romance (4 possible ROs in total, although you don’t meet them all in Chapter 1), loss, betrayal and all kinds of good stuff along those lines. Give it a go; you never know, you might like it!

I've never watched an Indiana Jones film in my entire life, but this game kicks ass and its author is a very intelligent person and also a sweetheart. Go say hello!

I don't feel like the author was trying to be edgy, tho, he's just playing with old horror tropes and these people aren't supposed to be likeable anyways. If you like horror that's kind of Texas-Chainsaw-Massacry, this is a good one.

Ch 1

Robbie is a halfling who is pretty shitty but he’s good at making “potions” (Robbie is the roommate that everyone really hates but doesn’t want him to leave because he is their plug)

Taako is on the top bunk, Magnus is under Taako, Robbie is next to Taako and Merle is under Robbie

They are woken up at 3 am to report to Lucretia (3 am really?)

”Yeah it’s like Mario Mario or Luigi Mario” ~Griffin (This is so funny because this actually proves that Taako’s last name really is Taaco. Before Justin played it as a joke but this kinda derails that)

Robbie asks them for Pringles when they leave (Thus the beginning of me and the boys not remembering him by anything other than Pringles)

They arrive in their PJs (Taako is in footie pajamas and Merle’s has a flap in at the butt with a Kenny Chesney tattoo on his ass) (When the hell did Merle get that tattoo. Also, why is Lucretia in her full BoB garb right now? Was she asleep and get changed really quickly? Do her robes double as PJ’s? Did she just not go to sleep?)

Taako says he gets night terrors that’s why he’s in like a full-body Onesie/sleeping bag (That is so fricking sad if you think about his backstory later on…)

Magnus just starts changing clothing right then and there when Lucretia tells them that they don’t have time to get ready (This man really has no shame or boundaries. I imagine it was the same in the century tbh)

Leimann Kessler (half-elf man) was murdered before he was even on the train but was able to secure the Relic on the train (Personally, don’t know a lot about how trains work but this to me is kinda odd. Who knew he died? Do their bracers know when the wearer perishes? Is there like a body temp check and a pulse check in there too? We know that it can track them but… how much more can it do…)

All the relics come from a different school of magic. They were never in the hands of someone long enough to learn what they are capable of (Potentially this is a lie. We would have already known the names, schools of magic, and possibly what they could do based upon that alone. I bet Lucretia is hiding that info in her office)

The Gauntlet deals with Evocation magic (Hmmm, I can only imagine why. Maybe because Lup also worked in Evocation magic?)

Avi is manning the cannon! The whole scene with Magnus High as hell. Avi Never learned how to Wink (Avi you’re adorable I love you. Magnus. Get your shit together man.)

Taako pulls the lever too early and they change trajectory into a swamp

Leech fight! (I honest to god forgot this even happened before listening to it again. Not my fave fight)

Ch 2

Merle gets a lot of blood sucked from him by the leeches

Merle is completely submerged in the swamp and Magnus pulls his ass out (Why is it always Merle)

”Scientists have yet to agree” ~Griffin (I personally use this phrase all the time. It just makes me laugh so hard every time.)

Taako can levitate (I really wished he used this more ngl. I would also like to see some more fanart of this)

They are in Rockport! Covered in swamp shit!

Tom Beaudette! We see his house and they get hosed off then they see him at the ticket station again. (What a nice guy!)

Ch 3

Hudson, Jess the Beheader, Graham Juicy Wizard, ANGUSSSSSSSS, and Jenkins McShittywizard (My favorite train gang!)

Travis making fun of Griffin for how he needs to sleep with 100000000 pillows (I cherish all of these out of character bits where they really just dog on one another)

Angus, my sweet summer child don’t talk to strangers. We know your grandfather’s name was long forgotten even though you’re going to visit him in Never Winter.

The boys legit think Angus is evil and Griffin yells at them bc they are being racist. (1- how are they being legit racist? You haven’t introduced anything about Angus’ race at all?) (2- Jesus he is only 10 years old my dudes)

Graham is 36 years young and is crazy obsessed with trains and his real name is Percy? He is shadowing Jenkins in hopes of learning more about working on a train

Taako from TV! (And so his legend begins!)

Ch 4

Jenkins is harnessing a limited version of teleportation magic

Angus calling the boys out on their bullshit

Taako calling Angus “pumpkin” (Literally melts my heart. I wish someone called me cute nicknames. Also, Taako hasn’t even talked to this kid that much and that name is reoccurring)

Angus has a nondescript blue book that is able to intercept messages sent through magical means (Where did this child get this book and who let him keep it? This is legit just like letting children under 13 have access to the unrestricted internet. It’s literal Hell)

The bit with Angus and “PRYING EYES AND EARS!” (uh foreshadowing my guy)

They find “Jenkins” Dead body after hearing Graham scream

Merle is able to identify a lot of things by looking at the body (It still scares me that he is technically a Physician.)

Angus pulls a small CROSSBOW OUT OF HIS SLEEVE? (Where did he get this, how did he keep it from Hudson, Why the fuck does he have it)

Angus really said “you guys run I’ll get rid of him!” and grabs Graham and runs (How strong is this child. He’s legit lifting and pulling a grown-ass man without help)

”I’m following Angus I’ll see yall in hell!” ~Taako (Yes follow the badass 10-year old please)

”I wanna tell you about the time about this time there were three ogres…”~Taako

The Foley work bit and then Griffin just snapping “The train derails and you all die” (Another out of character goof that I cherish)

”I shit and take 14 damage” ~Griffin (are you okay? How much health do you have? What’s your max HP dude?)

Taako makes the Crab monster Levitate

Magnus punched the crab monster out of the window and it got scrapped up on the side of the train

Ch 5

They follow the Crab into their sleeper car and Magnus attacks with a chair and Griffin says “I imagine because you are so skilled at carpentry that you’ve had to attack someone with a chair before so you are in fact proficient in this attack”

Jess comes in and finishes the crab off with her Soul bound ax that she can conjure at any time (This legit just means that Jenkins did not need to carry her ax to the crypt safe. She let him do it for shits n giggles. We stan)

Jess got her last name legally changed to “Beheader” and Magnus says that he got his legally changed to “The Hammer” (Really Magnus… this isnt 3rd grade stop trying to impress her. It’s that or it could be another sad reference to “Hammer and Tongs” which would mean Julia was “Tongs” D: that is so depressing and cute)

Magnus and Merle are making good progress in solving the murder

”Alright lads” “oh fuck” When Merle keeps up his disguise as Leimann Kessler (It’s so funny because his fake Leimann Kessler is just his current Argonaut Keen.)

”I cast ZONE OF TRUTH” “Jesus you’re like a zone of truth cleric” (Oh honey. This is just the beginning)

Magnus wakes Graham up with a 5% smack with his left hand and then a 6.5% smack also with his left hand (Wtf is this BNHA? Alright Deku)

Taako is an Alcoholic? (He keeps asking for a drink ...This is a bit concerning but it makes sense)

Magnus slaps Graham again with 7.2% and he popped something in Graham’s jaw and he begins screaming but Merle heals him (OKAY DEKU COOL IT MY GUY)

”I wanna be a guy... with a head!” ~” Hudson” (hehe foreshadowing)

Ch 6

The “fisticuffs” scene with Taako and Angus (Now this is really concerning considering his backstory. I know it’s a joke because of how many people they accidentally kill all the time but like dude… little do you know…)

Angus leading them through the mystery is so cute. But also you know its Griffin trying to get his family to really think it through and I love it. (It really makes my heart really full to hear Griffin get really excited when they figure it out slowly instead of mocking them when they guess wrong)

MERLE YES! MAGNUS YES! YOU’RE GETTING IT! YOU’RE SO CLOSE! (Teamwork makes the dream work baby!)

Magnus jumps out of the train and Griffin gets really serious and gives him the “if you fail this you will actually die” speech (This coupled with the fight scene that Magnus accidentally skipped and the fact that originally Travis did want Magnus to die so he could re-roll a rogue is so wild)

Magnus is gonna become a wrecking ball Jesus (very Magnus-core)

Hell yeah, Magnus! Knock the meat monster into Jenkins!!

Taako wanted to open the gate to Never Winter to Phandalin but they change it to Jenkins’ garden because it needs to be a room with “one entrance” (Solid idea on Taako’s part. If it were to work no one would have been hurt)

Out of character, they choose to work on voices and Griffin calls them out bc he’s been doing 8 “different” voices and Clint goes “Yeah try doing that for 40 years” get fuckin rOASTED Ditto! (Also Griffin I love you but like 3 of the voices were the exact same and 2 were so similar it wasn’t funny. Don’t get me wrong different voices aren’t my strong suit either but ya did give it your best shot so.)
