Create a personal bubble to bust off your stress!
Stress, according to Dr. Hans Selye, is the body’s reaction to perceived threat or tensions that affect the balance or homeostasis of our body.
As a developing person, stress is an event that is inevitable to me. It is something that cannot be avoided easily. I, personally, get so stressed out even the littlest of things. Though, yes we may learn from those “stressful situations” but it is something I do not enjoy experiencing. Stress for me is like a heavy load placed on my shoulders, slowly bringing me down to my breaking point. The worst thing about stress is that it wears you down and changes you emotionally and physically. Stress doesn’t only affect you but also your relationship with others. As in my case, when I’m stressed, I’m get irritated and annoyed very easily. I become blank and practically don’t care about anything else other than the state/ condition I am in. But, I do believe that stress is part of the development of a person. As an individual is able to use their capabilities, likes and strengths to fight off stress.
My drawing, above, shows my personal bubble or my ways to bust off stress instead of stress bringing down. This personal bubble of mine helps me fight off the heavy load of stress. It contains my likes and what I do to avoid stress.
Have a personal interest - Find an interest that may relieve your stress. For me my top stress reliever activities are listening to music. dancing and playing volleyball. Doing those activities diverts my attention to somethings else and makes me happy.
Relax and stay calm - Rather than letting your stress win you over, fight it and simply stay calm. Remember that every problem has a solution. Don’t panic over a problem as you will just make it worse that it already is.
Sleep- Sleep is important as it allows you to rest and recover. Sleeping will give you energy to fight off stress and to think clearly.
Eat - I don’t fully recommend stress eating but sometimes it does work. But if you do stress eating, make sure you know your limits and don’t do it too often. Avoid eating too much nasty foods, rather eat healthy foods. Eating will also give you the energy you need!
Pets - Having pets is amazing, if you didn’t know. Pets are stress relievers for me. I have a dozen of them at home, and I’m glad that I have them. Something about playing with them and cuddling them, enables me to be at ease and to stay calm. My pets are my happy pills.
Talk to someone - It is important to always talk to someone. Someone that you know you could trust of course. In my case when I get stressed out, I always talk to my mom. She always gives me the best solutions. It is important to unburden your feelings and emotions because if you do, that heavy weight that you feel will surely be lessened.
Pray - Whether you are stressed or not, it is always important to pray. Pray for guidance and strength. Having a solid relationship with God, will give you more power, strength and motivation to fight off your stress. Praying for guidance will help you do the right thing as well.
“Stress is not what happens to you, but it is how you react to it” - Dr. Hans Selye

This Works for Me!

Stress is part of life. We experience stress everyday due to work, school or by something more. These are the following stress busters that I use to reduce stress (:
1. Sleep. Staying up late to get more done robs you of your total productivity. It dulls your mind, increases stress, promotes weight gain and contributes to mood swings.
2. Every morning, spend five minutes saying all that you’re grateful for, five minutes in healing prayer, and five minutes reading something inspirational.
3. Schedule relaxation. Make time at least once a week to do something you love like something that refreshes you. Maybe that’s a game of football, spending an hour alone with a good book or going out with friends.
4. Connect with others. Making time for social connection is very important and restorative. Social connection is what makes us a part of something larger than ourselves and our worries. It gives us perspective.
5. Exercise regularly. Based on the internet regular exercise helps expel built-up tension, stress hormones and clears the mind. Exercise helps to release endorphins, the brain’s natural feel-good chemicals.
6. Use your senses. Find colors that soothe you, and wear fabrics that please you. Take a scented bath or play music you love. Paint, get a massage or take a walk in the woods. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.” ~Hilary Cooper

THIS WORKS FOR ME!

As a student, there are many times that we encounter loads of projects, quizzes, and long tests in just a single week. Thinking about it is stressful enough how much more that we have to do it for a whole school year. But each one of us has our own way on destressing ourselves, and I have my own ways in doing so.
1.MUSIC
For me, one of the best way to relax my mind is through music. Listening to music, playing musical instruments, simply humming, and making musical sounds, you name it! Whenever it’s associated with music this keeps my mind calm and at ease. A little melody can lighten up my stressful mood and this results to me being able to function well.
2.SLEEPING
Well, who in the world does not love sleeping!? -_- This is one of the most effective way in reducing stress. You get to hug your soft pillow, hide under the blankets or wrap yourself up like a burrito and just lie down not having to think of anything at the moment. This helps me reduce stress in a way that it regenerates worn out cells and keeps my body in a calm state. After regaining my energy, I am able to set my mind in a more organized way and I can do several activities simultaneously.
3.READING NOVELS
One way also that I can recharge my tired body through reading novels with any genre. This way I can divert my attention, even just for a little while, and be able to enter another world as the book being the way.
4.EATING!!
EVERYONE LOVES FOOD!!! FOOD IS LIFE!! whenever i feel so stressed out and soooooooooooooooooooo tired, I look for my comfort food and after filling my stomach, I feel so much better.
5.Watching Movies
ENTERTAINMENT TIME! this becomes my way of also diverting my stressed mind to other scenes. This helps my mind to engage in other things such as movies and be able to use it in a more creative way aside from the boring serious mode.
6.SHOUT AND CRY
This always help me de-stress myself, since it becomes away of letting it all out without having to find any diversions but to be able just simply let all of the negative vibes and the burdens to get out of your system.
7. MASSAGE!
This is also another way of reducing stress because it kneads your body resulting to a relaxing feeling afterwards.
8. COLD SHOWERS
This way, it cools my body and mind down and freshens my body. Afterwards, I’m able to do things freely since I feel clean and in a ready to work state!

This Works For Me!
I am an active person – I teach, I coach, I study, I create… and so much more – to the point of stress and exhaustion. Through the years, however, I have reassessed and redeveloped some of my less than healthy ways of dealing with stress into something more productive and healthier, and among these are shown in the pictures above. Can you guess some of them?

this works for me
Reminiscing.. Those random memories that makes me smile no matter what is going on in my life. Remembering positive memories almost always guarantees that a smile will come to your beautiful face. Depending on your thoughts, it may even make you erupt in laughter, which sure beats dwelling on unhappy thoughts. Positive thinking and laughter helps produce feel-good chemical in the body. Go ahead, think about all those “GAAAD THIS FEELS GOOD” moments

“This works for me”
This works for me because i feel better when i play my guitar and listen to a music, and also sing sometimes. I feel relieve when heard music, especially those songs that I like.
Three Phases of Stress Response (according to Hans Selye)
Hans Selye explained his stress model based on physiology and psychobiology as General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS). The General Adaptation Syndrome is a model that is comprised of three elements or phases which describe the body’s response to stress:
1. Alarm Stage
In this phase, the initial reaction of the body to stress is that it labels the stressor as a threat or danger to balance, that is why it immediately activates its fight or flight response system, and releases the “stress” hormones such as adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol. These hormones enable you to perform activities that you don’t usually do.
For instance, when one’s house is on fire, his body shifts to the alarm stage, his stress hormones released (particularly adrenaline) and then he lifts a very heavy appliance outside the burning house. But there’s a catch – your blood pressure starts to rise after a minute or less, which can predispose you to damage of the brain and heart’s blood vessels, putting you at risk to stroke or heart attack. The muscles you’ve utilized might also become painful due to tissue damage.
2. Resistance Stage
After the body has responded to the stressor, it is more likely that the stress level has been eradicated, or simply reduced. What happens next to the fight or flight response is that you body’s defences become weaker, as it needs to allocate energy to the repair of damaged muscle tissues and lower the production of the stress hormones.
Although the body has shifted to this second phase of stress response, it remains on-guard, particularly when the stressors persist and the body is required to fight them continuously, although not as stronger as it could during the initial response.
3. Exhaustion Stage
During this phase, the stress has been persistent for a longer period. The body starts to lose its ability to combat the stressors and reduce their harmful impact because the adaptive energy is all drained out. The exhaustion stage can be referred to as the gate towards burnout or stress overload, which can lead to health problems if not resolved immediately.
If you are stress, your emotions reacts because they are connected to each other. When you encounter stress, your emotions feels better when you do such things that changes your mood to a good and better and it helps your stress’ relieve. And you’ll feel better anyway.

MANAGING EMOTIONS l The Emotion Challenge
Emotions are complex experiences of consciousness, bodily sensation, and behavior that reflects the personal significance of a thing, an event, or a state of affairs. It is the way on how we respond to circumstances in life.
Based on Daniel Goleman’s Theory, these are ways that could contribute managing emotions be more intellectual and authentic:
1 Self-awareness
Identify what your strengths and weaknesses are and use it as an advantage in handling your emotions.
2 Self-management
You know how to control yourself
3 Social skills
Able to have an effective communication to others.
4 Empathy
You know how to understand others than judging them just on your own perspective.
5 Motivaton
Healthy outlets for yourself - your body, brain, heart and spirituality.
If these five things are done properly, you will have a healthy mind and relationship with other people.
I hate getting emotional; but when i do, these are ways on how i personally manage them:
Being positive
Have patience
Do not expect
Don’t be overshadowed by anger
Keeping my coolness
Proper Management of emotions would lead to emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence that would help a person to develop and be aware pn understanding the emotions of others.
That is all dear reader!

Hi! It’s me again. I will share my 5 tips on how to cope up with stress base upon my experiences.
As a teen, I go through different problems that usually end up with stress. Admittedly, I am always stressed especially about school stuff. I easily get worried and pressure during pt(performance task) week. My eyes get darken and swell. That’s why I can’t focus anymore.
Fortunately, I discover a variety of coping my stress problems. It is unique and perhaps only me can appreciate. No. I mean maybe it also works for you.
TIP#1:SLEEP, IN A PERFECT PLACE
Having a long rest can improve your body’s performance. Through sleeping, our body can relax and function well. Like, sleeping in a hammock. I love to sleep in a hammock since it’s refreshing. I feel a perfect mixture of the wind that massages my skin. I can sleep for long hours in a hammock than in the bed.
TIP#2:EAT..but not too much!
A healthy diet is important for one’s body and psychological improvement. Eating your favorites except those that are unhealthy are helpful cool down the mind and can act, think accordingly. You will feel good. It’s true for me since when I eat apples I can taste its natural sweetness that drives me to think positive.
TIP#3: TALK FREELY
Find someone/ thing/place that you can talk with. It doesn’t matter if it won’t have any response but the important thing is that you can freely express all of your thoughts, insecurities, ambitions and even your secrets. For me, I watch stars and sometimes talk with them. Also, I talk in the mirror because I can see myself. Through, talking I can feel relief. I feel light and worry free.
TIP#4: EXERCISE
Doing physical activities will also help you to cope up with stress. Since your mind and body both thinks in a right and fun way. For me, I exercise to aim full relaxation, like swimming. I love to swim. It cools my mind and energizes my total being.
TIP#5: Discover your PARADISE
Go to a place where you can forget all your problems. In a peaceful , quiet..or it depends on you. Well, it is effective for me when I go to some place surrounded by green and blue. It’s so beautiful like the ocean and nature. I feel I’m in a paradise. I don’t want think of anything else but to use the entire moment to reflect and breathe.
The 5 tips I share are just my suggestions on how to deal with your stress. It’s truly effective to me. Hopefully, it can also be effective to you as well.See you in my next post.:)
