Have a human Shockwave! I wanted to try figuring out how Empurata would work (the burning + partial melting of the face), but I also didn't want to disrespect facial differences in doing so-

#shockwave #tfp shockwave #transformers #tfp #humanformers #maccadam #fanart #thistle don't look #there's rendered teeth to look out for #i looked up if skin melts and it actually doesn't- what DOES melt is the fat under the skin #skin and muscles tighten and tear (the rips over the missing eye) and so the fat gets heated from that fire #and kinda melts over the tears-#lips are mostly muscle but there are fat pads still that can melt if the skin tears enough #i referenced burn survivors and other facial differences so if i'm being completely ignorant do tell me #should i tag this? these aren't fresh injuries #ask to tag #but really it uh shouldn't be that bad? it's a face that doesn't feature flowing blood #just have the 'don't look' tag because of the teeth and that's mostly a mutual consideration #again- ask to tag (maybe i rendered the colours too rich do tell me)

realizing thistle never actually reached the maturation point for an elf is so. eye opening. especially bc he actually witnessed both delgal's birth and the birth of delgal's son (AND HIS GRANDSON!!). as a human reader it's so easy to be lulled into thinking he's so old and marcille's remark of him being a child came so fast it's so easily forgotten

like i definitely think the golden kingdom and delgal himself never knew let alone be able to perceive thistle as an immature person. bc in their years he's just so old. and i think growing up surrounded with all tallmen also gave thistle false perceptions of how mature he was and it played a part in him taking on the responsibility of rejecting death for the whole kingdom. it's a brilliant and raw display of what age discrepancy actually means in the world of dungeon meshi

I wanted to try and find my headcanon of Roach's face because for some reason my brain decided that I couldn't keep writing my fanfic if I didn't know what I wanted him to look like beneath his mask... So obviously the full picture wasn't planned. (Also I went the easy way for the background because I remembered that I wasn't getting paid anyway so why make myself suffer)

I don't know if the design is definitive, but I find him cute. I made him Welsh, because why not. He can bond with Soap over why the fuck do the English exist.

Anyway they're gossiping about someone at the pub like the little shits they are. Also I don't know if it's obvious or not, but Roach has the mask sun-tan line. Ghost does too. Speaking of Ghost, he's on the other side of the table, looking like that :

I hate having really pretty visually interesting dreams because I know I'll wake up and forget it and even if I try to draw them before I forget I won't be able to recreate the style :(

#i had two dreams like this last night #don't remember that much of what was happening in the first one other than taking a test at school #but everyone was don bluth style animals (specifically All Dogs Go to Heaven) and all the coloring was done in beautiful pale watercolors #and my second dream was vaguely about Dungeon Meshi and the legend of the Golden Kingdom #(it was a really inaccurate portrayal but that makes sense since it was just a dream‚ i can't expect it to be 100% at all times lol)#but it was done in a really fluid and bouncy vintage anime style that was so pretty (don't know what to compare the more detailed parts to)#(maybe like The Rose of Versailles style? not sure haven't watched it BUT the small parts of the dream were done in old Hello Kitty style)#(i specifically remember Thistle looking very similar to Kuromi whenever they smiled or laughed)#but ANYWAYS i mostly remember two scenes #where we're at a fountain with a statue of Delgal‚ which twists and shifts into the cloaked 'mad mage' imagined portrayal-#and then the cloak twirls again to shift into Thistle themselves in a very fancy jester outfit and then they take a big bow to the camera #the second scene i remember was with Thistle close up to the camera and smiling as they held a little spinning music box of the Winged Lion #and then the characters both shifted again so that it ended up as being the Winged Lion holding up a tiny music box of Thistle #uhhhhhh. i also remember some bit where Thistle was being very mean and laughing from atop the fountain but i don't remember what was said #anyways the dreams weren't that good story wise but i can't emphasize enough how pretty they looked and I'll never be able to recreate them #dungeon meshi spoilers #delicious in dungeon spoilers #just in case lmao?
