I am loving all of the Newsies content - though, admittedly, I've only ever seen the 1992 one. I'm getting flashbacks to when I wrote bad Newsies fanfic in 2008/2009 😂 I want to describe myself as having been an "edgy baby" for having Spot Conlon as my favorite back in the say 😂

Feel free to ignore this, but I'm not on Twitter, so I'm not fully sure what chaos is happening with the Seoul concert. Is the RMPG management doing something absolutely boneheaded like giving Japanese fans first dibs at the Seoul tickets?

unfortunately, yes, that's exactly they're doing and worse, first dibs at tickets AND confirmed first row for JP FAN CLUB members

tl;dr of rmpg's 1st fan concert in korea:

7 hours after their first announcement for seoul fan concert, rmpg also announced that there will be a "FC member only official tour from japan -> korea"

note: FC members are for japan residents only bc you need a jp address to sign up

the trip is sponsored and managed by a Korean travel agency that will help the jp fans flight-hotel-transportations to event venue when they're at korea (so this idea is not from LDH side but is offered to them by the travel agency)

and this is where the issue starts:

Based on this, there are 2 main benefits only jp FC members will get:

group photoshoot with all 16 members (which is fine honestly, this is a valid perk for FC members imo)

GUARANTEED FRONT ROW SEATS (seating arrangements below)

Despite being an overseas fan event, it blatantly favors jp fans instead

FC members application opens 13 days earlier than general sales

jp fans are given priority front seats while korean/overseas fans are being pushed back to remaining A block

in the initial post, it said "Block A is reserved for people who joins this trip." so fans were under the impression that front row is only for jp fans. only AFTER the backlash did they add the second bullet "block A is also available to general ticket sale" (refer screenshot above)

but of course that doesn't resolve the issue of overseas fans being denied fair seating in an event that's supposed to celebrate them

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

The fic that comes to mind is Where Are You Now? (Johnny, NCT) I just remember listening to the song for like 3 hours while I wrote without stopping. I cried a few times while writing it and even now, I get teary eyed when I re-read it. It remains as one of the fics that I'm most proud of.

Rain, obviously. I love the rain so I always try to add it when I can. The reader/MC usually always likes tacos, pirates of the caribbean, and Dr. pepper lmao

Hi, I saw your tags and I hope you don't mind me popping in to respond! 😂 THE RAMPAGE is a Jpop group made of - an interesting to me - concept, where there's 3 vocalists and 13 dancers. They're part of a collective called the EXILE TRIBE, which was founded by the group Exile, and they are the largest group. Exile was 15 mbrs for a few years, 2 main vocalists, 2 vocalist/performers and 11 dancers - Exile was the first group and they were formed as a dance group initially, they just - added some vocalists. Most Exile Tribe groups fall within 7-8 people - almost every group that started larger than 7-8 people before the official debut lost people before that point to various things. It's just when they told this batch of 16 teenagers/early 20's young men "Succeed at this intensive training or leave the group", all of them somehow stuck it out. (the youngest, Takuma, was 15 when they started the training - the oldest, Likiya, was 23 and the oldest by 3 years. The other 14 members were all between the ages of 15 and 20) Notably, they are the first Exile Tribe group I've seen to use the word "family" to describe each other - Likiya and Zin, the leaders, are apparently referred to as the father and mother of the group and Zin's called the other 14 members "their sons" in at least one video. That may be part of why they all succeeded when almost every other group had some amount of attrition.

Hi :) it’s been awhile since I’ve actually had conversations with my mutuals here and I feel bad about it as always but I just wanted to post and say hi and that I think about my oldest mutuals often and hope y’all are still alive and well no matter where you are on your life journey. I know well all busy with jobs and finding what we want to do in life and that’s okay but I just wanted to say that I miss you all and miss all our cute talks and I appreciate you guys coming into my life when you did and meeting you all and sometimes I see you liked a post and I see your username in my notifications and it makes me smile. I am interested in Prince of Legend, but was very confused by the one episode I watched and I'm still not - fully - certain of the plot line? If you want to talk about it, I'd be interested 😅

tbh there's no plotline. Prince of Legend is basically just a big fanservice all mashed together into the pretense of teen romance (a lot like Ouran High School Host Club)

All the characters are based on very specific character troupes and cliches from shoujo genre-- (ouji sama, smart cool guy, devoted right man, yankee, normal guy, classy traditional japanese etc etc)

It's obviously made to promote the exile tribe members and make them appeal to audience instead of serving any kind of purpose in the story lol

They also use the effect of gap moe to capture you because the way they are in the drama is very different to how they are in exile tribe. (e.g: Reo looks like a sophisticated classy traditional japanese guy in the drama but in exile tribe he is a macho bad boy that does krump)

I personally like it as someone who enjoys fictional troupes. I think they really nailed each character troupe and cast the perfect exile tribe member into each roles. Instead of the story being good, I like the dream/delusions they sell through Prince of Legend.

Which is also why I was also very obsessed with the mobage afterwards and even whaled for it LOL. Thank god it got shut down)

It's a superficial and self indulgent series, but I appreciate that everyone in the production are serious at it and did it with love.

tl;dr: prince of legend is literally just an otome drama and the exact moment I fell in love with it was when they made a hunk like Nobuyuki Suzuki go into full fanboy moment for his crush lol

If you had to pick a favorite act from Dragon II, which one would it be?

Not counting the climax of each act, I think 2 wins.

Also, I think counting the climax of each act, 2 still wins. Not just from gameplay, tho running figure 8s around the keep is more entertaining than the gallows, but just the qunari plot as a whole. Maybe if I didn't have bela in my party 100% of the time I'd pick act 3 instead, IDK. But with any high approval relationship with her, romantic or not, the qunari plot feels more important.

Perhaps if the game let a mage supporting hawke more involvement in act 3, I'd choose that instead. The game shut Ria out of any decision making tho, and even tho I know the devs were massively cut off I wish it could've been different

Favorite flower, hm... I'm not really a flower person, but Tiger Lilies sound cool so I'll choose those. Or some blue flower lmao. Constellation... I don't really know those either... is the milky way a constellation?? Or, uh... orion's belt? Greek god, ooo that's a good one. Athena, Hades or Poseidon. Metal, uh... silver? I like silver. Is stainless steel a metal because that shit slaps.

Easily Japanese. To me, it's the most beautiful language in the world, plus I could watch Jdramas and shows without subs c:

Pickles are top tier. Cucumbers are gross af. I'm a lover of all things blue, but ocean blue speaks to me more than blurple does, so blue green. Orange. Yellow is one of the colors I don't like.

Merry Christmas Tale!! I Hope you had a great one. Sorry it's late, but I hope you like it. ♡

Himari noticed Riku for the thousandth time come and go at the Café she worked at. Every single time, they would sneak glances at each other without it being too obvious. He was always so soft-spoken with her, trying to make small talk. Where she shrugged it off as he was being kind, he just wanted her to know he existed. Anytime he came in, he had a designated spot by the window. He also always had smudges on his hand that she could never pinpoint the reasoning. She understood since he always brought a notebook and pencils, laying them out surgically like tools. Hours upon hours, he'd spend doing things in his notebook. It did draw curiosity from Himari, wondering what he was up to, but she never pushed to ask. She just figured it was for his eyes only. Riku looked up from studying his book, just enough to see Himari. She had a nice smile. One that decorated her eyes as well. Riku liked that. It was genuine and gave him butterflies, which he had never felt before.

Christmas was around the corner, which meant the perfect time for hot chocolate. He ordered two, which threw Himari off since he was alone, but she figured he just wanted an extra one. She brought them out, placing the mugs on the table leaving Riku admiring the tree in the whipped cream.

“Excuse me Himari,” he gathered his nerves to talk to her, “the other is for you.”

She looked bewildered, “For me?” she turned slowly meeting his glance.

“Mhm. You're always on the go, I believe you deserve more than just a simple thank you. Please sit,” He pointed at the seat right in front of him.

Himari wiped her hands on her apron as she obliged. She was beginning to get tired and cold, this was a kind gesture of him to do. He was easy to open up to. One thing she noticed, was how attentive he was when she spoke. He gave her his full attention. In all the years of being in customer service, she never had that happen.

“Thank you Riku, this is kind of you,” she intertwined her fingers around the mug to feel warmth.

Himari just stared off, before he broke her concentration elsewhere.

“You decorated the place nicely,” He took a sip.

“Oh no, I didn't do this. Honestly my heart wasn't in it this year, so I can't take the credit. This was all their doings,” she looked over at him forcing a smile.

This year wasn’t the best for her, being the first Christmas she wasn’t able to spend with her family. She didn’t explain much, but she tiptoed around the topic. Riku glanced down at his book, as she didn’t notice the shift in his glance. It was sad for him that she wasn’t the normal upbeat person he had known for a long time. Times were just rough, making it hard for her to afford going back home.

Snow was gently falling from the sky as it started decorating the sheets in a beautiful white blanket. The way the flakes danced in the sky, was truly a sight to behold. Himari wasn’t feeling at all the Christmas spirit that her coworkers were engulfed in. Families far and wide surrounded the dinning room, making Himari miss hers. He felt sadness in his heart that he never felt before. They finished their hot chocolate as Himari picked up the mugs. He packed up his items, placing them in his bag. When Himari walked back into dining room, Riku waved bye. She shot him a smile waving.

Himari stepped outside momentarily to feel the cold wind blowing. Before Riku, she never tried to put much thought in missing Christmas, but talking to him relieved a lot of worries and stress off her shoulders. Every breath she took, she could see the steam. Her neighbors really knew how to decorate, their lights illuminating the streets. She was just happy about the snow. Himari skimmed her foot in the snow, looking around to make sure she was alone. A thought crossed her mind as she sat in the snow lying back, arms out to her side. The thought that she looked ridiculous did cross her mind, but she didn’t care. She raised her arms, spreading her feet apart making a snow angel. The only problem was that it would be ruined once she tried to get up. Suddenly, a voice broke her train of thought.

“Here, take my hand,” Riku extended his hands for her to grab.

She jumped up to her feet next to Riku admiring her work. She wasn’t artistic to say the least, so seeing something so beautiful come from her, was exhilarating. He looked over at her smiling, happy to see that expression decorating her face once more.

“What are you doing here Riku?”

“I think I left something at the Café.”

“Oh, well we can go see about that,” she led him to the door.

Once they got inside, he walked over to the table where they were sitting earlier. He looked it over a few times as he returned handing her a present. She was stunned at his actions, but took the present thanking him.

“I wanted you to have this. I hope you like it.” Riku placed his hands in his pockets nervously awaiting her to open it.

Himari sat down as she unwrapped the gift slowly. She was staring back at herself. Riku had sketched her at some point, capturing her beauty. She smiled as she looked up at him, jumping up wrapping her arms around his neck. He reciprocated the hug, just happy she liked it.

“It’s beautiful Riku, thank you. This is the nicest gift I’ve ever received.”

“You’re welcome Himari. Merry Christmas. I just wish I could make it better for you.”

“You already have, but I’m sorry I don’t have anything in return.”

“You’re enough. Listen Himari, I’ve tried thinking of different ways to explain how I felt.”

“Wow Riku. So you’re asking me out?”

A grin formed around the corners of his lips as he nodded. “I hope you don’t mind.”

“Not at all, but why me?”

“You are the only lady that has ever controlled my emotions. I laugh when you laugh. When you smile, my heart literally smiles, I’m not sure how but it does. When you’re sad or look like you’re brooding, I just want to make all your negative intrusive thoughts disappear. I would love the chance to be that and more, if you’d let me.”

Himari thought for a second before looking back at him. She did like Riku and liked the fluttering sensation she gained whenever he spoke, so she nodded.

“I guess we can give this a try,” she ran her hands through her ponytail playing with her hair.

He approached her once more placing her chin lightly in his hand. They met halfway as they shared a slow loving kiss. She felt a smile form on his lips, as he looked up. Wanting to see what stole his attention, she noticed mistletoe right above their heads.

“Merry Christmas Himari, you’re the greatest gift I could ever ask for.”
