It wasn't immediately clear to him which of them had pissed off Tony. Scarlet Spider had reached out to his former "Space Friends" team leader with a request for backup while potentially getting in over his head chasing down rumors of a resurgence of The Great Game being played out in the New York underworld, something he felt personally motivated to put a stop to if he could, and Squirrel Girl was who'd shown up in response. He couldn't tell if ol' Shellhead was just trying to get him to stop texting so much or if the notorious Dr. Doom-defeater was getting stuck with the knock-off Spider-Man Tony barely recalled thanks to the drug-addled haze he'd been in when they teamed up.

Regardless of whichever one of them the Avenger was trying to get out of his hair, the teamup was happening, and Ben had resolved to roll with it.

"I can't believe I'm about to say this, but how skilled are your squirrels at espionage?"

Ray Kowalski was a low-level money mover, someone Ben had come across once or twice in the past while making a buck as a personal bodyguard, and the perfect person to shake down for intel on the kind of big bets being placed on the Game. Doreen didn't seem like she'd be on board with the usual interrogative methods he employed with criminals, so Ben was exploring alternatives where nobody got roughed up, like bugging his business with rodentia.

Maggie walked through the streets on her way to the park when she suddenly heard a quiet squeak. She paused briefly and cocked her head to the side before walking in the direction of the noise to see what it was. When she got to the source of the noise, she saw a little squirrel desperately running back and forth in a barrel, trying to get out.

"Aw, hey little fella." Maggie greeted him with a friendly voice so as not to scare the little animal even further. "How did you get in there, hm? Can't get out out of there again?" She continued to speak calmly while she pulled a few nuts out and carefully placed them in the barrel with the squirrel. "You must have been in there for a while now…" she murmured as she gently petted the squirrel.

Slowly but surely, Maggie gained the animal's trust and carefully lifted it out of its prison. "There you go," Maggie whispered and brought the squirrel near a tree where she put it down. "Now you're free again."

Maggie placed a few more nuts next to the squirrel, which it quickly collected before the squirrel gave Maggie one last look and then ran away. With a smile, Maggie looked after the squirrel as she saw it running towards a girl. A girl with a… squirrel tail?

Koa was sitting under a tree in the forest, feeding the birds and other small animals, when she noticed a movement out of the corner of her eye. Lookin in the direction she saw a squirrel sitting on a branch, looking curiously in her direction.

"Hello little fella," Koa smiled friendly as she held out her hand with some food and asked "Hungry?"

Instead of approaching her, the squirrel ran away, whereupon Koa tilted her head and shruged slightly. She turned back to the other animals, unaware that the little squirrel had only set out to tell his friends about the food source.

It wasn't long before Koa was surrounded by a scurry of squirrels, who gladly ate the food while others happily climbed all over her. Koa laughed amused as she noticed another person, one with ginger hair and a squirrel tail.

It's been a hot minute since my last watch so bear with me if my knowledge is a little rusty lmao. Since Adventure Time is basically also a post-apocalypse (in this case, post-nuclear) --

Clarice is basically unchanged -- since magic exists in this world, she can grow crystalline gars and use them for teleportation magic.

She was raised in the woods by a were-puma. He's still around somewhere, but only usually shows up when she's in big deep trouble.

Civilization bugs her so she sticks to the fringes. She's easily overstimulated and tends to climb somewhere high to get away from people. She especially can't stand candy people because they're loud (and she may have eaten one once)

She collects old audio cassettes but doesn't have anything to play them on. So they're just tucked in a box in her cave.

She's got a dog whistle on a chain around her neck. There's a werewolf who knows the call. Don't make her use it.

andie regrets every life decision she made that landed her on this campus at this particular time of day. it's prime swinging hours and she's still got homework before she can even get to swinging. so needless to say, she's distracted, phone in one hand typing away and coffee in the other, with her books pressed against her chest and the crook of her arm.

so she takes full and total responsibility for landing herself on her ass. as least her coffee is safe! (thank you super powers.)  "oh, i'm so sorry!!"  she echoes doreen's sentiment as she climbs to her feet.  "i'm fine, are you okay?"  there's a moment of hectic shuffling back and forth as they both right themselves, andie pocketing her phone and brushing herself off and re-shuffling her papers. it's rare that she's thrown to the ground by something as simple as an ordinary girl and not, say, an 8 foot robot or a man with super-strength out for revenge. she turns on her brightest smile, and then somehow it stretches even wider as the girl hands over a paper.  "oh! it is mine, thank you. that's important."  very important. she'd be probably failing her next class if she didn't have that to turn in. yikes! the hand that had been holding her phone is now free to grab it and she pushes it into the stack of books and papers in her arm.  "i'm andie, i hope i haven't made you late to class...?"
