Who’s the first to wake up in the morning:Paz, I don’t see Mabel as a morning person so she’d be the one getting up and getting Danny up for school.

Who’s the one to make breakfast:Mabel, sometimes she’ll dismiss the chef to cook. Paz really loves it, makes her feel especially domestic.

Who’s the one to serve the other breakfast in bed:Mabel on the rare occasions that she’s awake before paz. sometimes danny joins in.

Who would suggest a quickie in the morning before work:Paz. but it has to be really fast and quiet.

Who distracts the other from trying to work at home:Mabel- she’ll send danny in if paz is being particularly stubborn. it never fails.

Who makes a sexual joke about the dripping ice cream on their partner’s face:Paz- as long as her son isn’t present.

Who cooks dinner:Paz has made a concentrated effort to learn how to cook some things after adopting danny but she still isn’t very good so usually it has to be Mabel. Paz does try and assist though.

Who cleans up the kitchen afterwards:Mabel but she can convince paz to help.

Who stays up until 2 reading:Paz, this woman needs sleep jfc.

Who stares at their partner while they’re sleeping:Paz will, she developed the habit when danny would come to her after having a nightmare.

Describe your first date with Mabel

“Describe your first ____.” Finish it in the askbox!

“She was fifteen, I was sixteen. Mabel asked me out on a date when she realized there was going to be a big carnival just an hour away. I was still… accepting myself at the time. But I managed to find the courage to say yes.

I tried telling her that I could pay for everything, but Mabel insisted. She said this was her treat. I just got my driver's license so I drove us.

We stayed all day, and I slept over at the Mystery Shack. We went on so many rides and tried to win as many prizes from the carnival games for each other as possible. I still have some of the stuffed animals she won me.

There were a few that… had bells and she… she comforted me and calmed me down anytime I heard one. I was scared I ruined our date anytime it happened but she… she convinced me that I hadn’t. She kissed me once to calm me down and I still think about it sometimes.

We shared a few snacks, and she’d hold my hand sometimes. Other times I’d hold hers. Every time we’d blush and I felt my heart flutter.

And when it was sunset, I looked over her and saw how the light hit her. And it finally clicked, that I was in love with her. My feelings weren’t just some… fleeting crush but… real love.

It scared me at first.

I was terrified, scared of if my parents would find out, scared that maybe Mabel didn’t feel as strongly, scared of how many people would disapprove, scared of how it could affect my image.

…

We got back to the shack pretty late. She giggled when we settled into her bed, her smile was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen when I kissed her. I wondered if my heart would stop when she curled up close to me and fell asleep.

I never slept better- and in the morning, when I left, she gave me a long kiss goodbye.

And that moment, I decided… this was all worth it. That Mabel was worth it. That I was willing to risk everything if it meant we had some shot at being together.

I loved her, and it was okay. Because she loved me too.”
