saw grass today. which was weird because I was out in the woods and the snow was up to my elbows. but I walked on some trails that had been shoveled and grass was poking through. it was green. why was it green. we've had sub-zero temperatures for 4 months. how is grass? green?
#it broke my brain#this winter has been so cold#last week it was -25c#this week it's only -5 on average and I keep thinking it's above the snow melting point#but it's not it's -5 I just forgot what temperatures that aren't freezing feels like#vitpost#I'm not complaining I LOVE cold. it's just. weird because after a few months I lose the ability to imagine#that this slumbering post apocalypse-like environment was green and alive once and will be so again#so seeing green grass was a bit jarring

I run beneath the winter's icy skies while taking care to note the lovely scene so often it becomes a common sight and has no more enchantment for my eyes. Wrapped up within the veils of dull routine, to heaven's joy's I've given up the right. Yet when it seems my inattention bars my eyes from noting miracles unseen I stop to take a glimpse into the night and lose my breath to find the stars So bright
#fictionadventurer poetry#poetry#starfall#oh look another poem about winter stars#what a surprise#well look#i was outside last night#rushing inside because it was stupid cold#had been thinking about how taking note of the night sky to fight the dismalness means that it doesn't really hit the same anymore#but frankly at that moment i wasn't thinking about it at all#and then i happened to look up and it was like i'd been hit by a freight train#so bright#the stars looked about four times larger than usual#close enough to touch#it absolutely stopped my heart#and i had no right to it#absolutely no right#to be given such beauty when i'd let myself be numbed by mundane concerns#it needed a poem#i've wanted to write a curtal sonnet#and it turned out that ending spondee seemed the only way to capture that heart-stopping instant of being crushed by wonder#(wikipedia claims that since hopkins no one has used the form seriously)#(usually it's in poems explicating the form)#(this is inaccurate because 'the seventh raven' has an entire pov in curtal sonnets)#(but the form still deserves more serious consideration)#anyway here you go i've done my due diligence as a hopkins fan

fucking hell i hate being sick so much
#marzivents#before the autoimmune shit being sick was annoying but i could get through it#it was fine. i didnāt like it but it was always over in like 2-3 days#i wouldnāt even miss school unless i was running a noticeable fever#(though by high school i kinda stopped checking)#now though? being sick is so much more treacherous than before#i have to rest so much. log this symptom manage that symptom keep your doctors updated#donāt stress out too bad! donāt wanna trigger a flareup#itās scary. a cold could land me in the hospital if iām not careful#plus. the symptoms of a cold feel a lot worse when your autoimmune flareups start like colds#itās just the worst. am i gonna have to spend the rest of my life afraid of the common cold#how the fuck do i go about being immunosuppressed without developing germaphobia#i know that in a year or two this will feel normal and iāll be used to it#but right now itās still new and itās so so frightening#it feels like everyone is sick all of the time. at any given point in time 2 of my friends have some sort of cold#this winter season has been especially abysmal#but even before then. several folks i knew had walking pneumonia in the summer#thereās all these outbreaks always happening. itās terrifying#plus thereās the inconveniences of missed class time#i donāt want to miss school. i like school. i want to go and learn and get my degree#but i have to rest so i canāt go to class which fucks up my grades which stresses me out#which makes me more likely to get sick later! itās fucking awful#i dunno. i need to go to bed i think. iām justā¦ stressed and tired and sick of it

my recent thrift deep dives on vinted have been so disappointing atp i'm gonna save up to buy a damn paloma wool sweater
#bc tell me why this earth is unable to provide me a sweater that has no polyester in it ... I was sick and watched like 2 seasons of this and then thought it was too#uninteresting and obnoxious to continue (more like 1 and a half since I skipped the rest of one once only boring people were left) BUT this#one guy had a very mischevious looking face and he also said a few things (like the above captioned speech) that sounded like dialogue#some fantasy character would say.. so I took a screencap of him and edited him into a mischevious wizard i guess.?? idk I was sick lol#~your little friend has a poisoned tongue~ is just a very unexpectedly serious sounding wording for some random normal#frat dude looking guy to say while casually chatting on a reality tv show in like 2008 or whenever that was filmed lol#5. FLUFFY CLOVERS!! I'd never seen them be furry and soft before?? inchresting..#6. Noodle sitting in bed with the cat figurines looming above him... the council of kittys...#7.
