i'm not sure how many on radblr are aware of this, but there is an artist named Jingna Zhang who for the last year has been battling a very nasty court battle revolving copyright of her art after it was intellectually stolen by a man. Zhang is a photographer with a very beautiful and specific style (insta: zemotion), and a male painter completely stole an image of hers and entered his painting, a nearly identical replica, into a contest and won a cash prize from stealing her entire photo! Rightfully, Zhang was upset and got a lawyer after he did, and this went to court. Yesterday, it was announced she had won her lawsuit after the first time where she had to appeal the lower courts decision that it didn't, a huge win for copyright law in general, but it's soured by how much racism and misogyny Zhang has suffered over the year and it's now just as bad since she's won the lawsuit.

I just wanted to share her story and tell everyone to go show your support to her and other female artists. People, likely all men, were harassing her for a year and still to this day that the lawsuit was frivolous and she was "throwing a hissy fit" about him stealing her art, to the point they doxxed her. The cruel mix of racism and misogyny she dealt with is just vile, you can see some of the replies and threats shes received on her insta and twitter. This was the art in question on the left vs her photo on the right:

I rocked back and fourth on my heels, standing directly beside the camera’s view. Anticipation and nervousness swirled in my stomach.

It probably wasn’t as big of a deal as I was making it, I knew that, but my nerves were still going buck-wild.

After three months of dating, Hamzah was introducing me as his girlfriend on the podcast today. We both wanted to wait until it was the right time, and we had finally decided that it was now or never.

YouTube was a ginormous part of Hamzah’s life, so the thought of his fans not approving of me was a big fear of mine. He’d assured me that they would love me, but I knew that he couldn’t be sure of that fact.

After about three minutes of rambling on about something pointless, Hamzah finally cleared him throat.

“We also have a special guest this episode. Please welcome, my beautiful girlfriend, y/n.”

I walked into frame, sitting beside Hamzah on the already crowded couch. Mandy and Martin clapped at my entrance, and I giggled nervously. This was a weird feeling for me, since I normally wasn’t this shy.

Hamzah handed me a mic he had bought specially for this episode, since normally they only had three people on at a time and didn’t own a fourth mic. He also put an arm around me, which helped calm my nerves a small bit. Hamzah’s touch could almost always make me feel better. I guess it was a good thing then that I was basically sitting on his lap due to limited space on the yellow couch.

“Hello,” I spoke into the microphone, smiling sheepishly.

“Introduce yourself.” Hamzah encouraged. He was taken aback by my shy demeanor as well.

“I’m y/n, Hamzah’s girlfriend…” I racked my brain for other facts about myself, but nothing came to mind.

Mandy chimed in, “We finally managed to get Hamzah a girlfriend guys, this is a rare sighting.”

I laughed along with Mandy and Martin, and Hamzah just rolled his eyes.

“You did not manage anything, I got her myself.”

“Bullshit, I’m the one who introduced you two.”

It was true, Mandy and I had worked together for about a year now and she was constantly telling me about how I needed to meet Hamzah, how well we would get along. Finally, she planned a night for us all to hang out, and we just kind of clicked.

“Yeah, Mandy is actually a really good match maker.” I nodded.

Mandy shrugged, “You are both socially awkward so I thought you’d be perfect for one another. And I was right, of course.”

Some time went on, and my nerves slowly started to dissolve. After about an hour, we finished filming, and Hamzah drove me home.

“So…” he began, looking out at the road as he drove, “how’d you feel about that?”

I shrugged, “I was really nervous at first but I think it turned out okay.”

Hamzah placed his hand on my thigh, “I promise, you have nothing to worry about. Everyone will love you.”

Hamzah posted the video the next day, and I couldn’t get myself to read the comments or open any social media until I got home from work, five hours later.

I sighed, sitting down on my couch and fumbling with my phone, opening YouTube and pressing on the new episode, entitled “Girlfriend Reveal (Hamzah Edition)”, which happened to the first video on my feed. The intro music began to play.

There were already 500 comments.

I commented a quick heart on the video before moving on to TikTok. My feed was already mostly slushy noobz clips, so I wasn’t surprised when I was the first thing I saw after opening the app.

Y/n paced back and forth in her dressing room, her nerves taking up her complete body. It was her first show in broadway. She knew they were going to be critics watching her every move. It was different from anything she had ever done before. Yes, she had acted and she did musical theater when she was in highschool but this was something completely different. This wasn’t a school production, this was an actual professional thing that could affect her career. She stopped in front of her dressing room mirror forcing a smile. It was her opening night and sadly none of her close friends were able to show up, different countries or schedules made it hard for them to show up, which she completely understood. But maybe a familiar face in the crowd could ease her nerves. A soft knock on the door stopped her train of thought. She quickly turned her head toward the door watching the assistant manager peak her head through. 

“Hi Y/n! Sorry for interrupting, You have a visitor that wanted to see you before the show started. Since you didn’t specifically put anyone in your visitor list, I wanted to see if it was okay.” She said quickly, knowing her duties she had a lot of things on her plate and the thing she least needed to worry about was about her visitors. Y/n quickly shook her head, not even asking who the “surprise visitor" was to cut their conversation short. She quickly left and a few seconds later a familiar face smiled shyly your way. Your eyes wandered over his body failing on the red flowers he was gripping tightly. 

“Oscar, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be in Australia?” She asked furrowing her eyebrows confused as she didn’t want to get closer to him afraid that he was an act of her imagination. 

“I couldn’t miss your special day, Y/n. I know we aren’t together anymore but you were always by my side in my important days. Even my less important ones. I wanted to support you, I know how important this is for you. As he sat down on his chair with it dipping with his added weight, he reached to his PC to start it up. He was about 20 minutes early to stream so he had to get his streaming apps ready. He wanted to keep this stream chill, he was probably some background music playing to make his stream calming (as calming as possible with his screams from playing fortnite.) As he made the sudden decision to play music on his stream, he opened Spotify as soon as his computer turned on.

He opened one of his designated playlists for streaming, some relaxing music ranging from different artists. He made sure this playlist wasn't going to get him flagged on his Twitch, something he didn't want to happen again.

He finally had his necessities opened, his discord and Spotify opened on his first monitor, his Twitch ready to stream on his third monitor, and finally his main monitor with his game loading up. When he looked at the time, he had around 6 minutes to spare before starting up his stream. With his extra time, he decided to go out of his room to his shared dorm with suguru to grab some snacks.

As he made his way to the shared kitchen, he just decided to grab a Gatorade and some random candies he had stored for when he was craving them. As he was going to retreat back to his room, he heard his fellow roommate's door open.

"Suguru, you should join my stream please." He said, dragging out the please for dramatic effect.

"Hell nah, ima go to sleep anyway." The black-haired man says with a blank stare, passing Satoru as he makes a b line towards the restroom.

"What the flip man." Sighing as he made it back to his room to start up his stream.

"BROO, no fucking way he got me. He literally only got me for 50 shield." He said, falling back in his chair as his 2nd place ranking got displayed on his screen. His hands now going through his face, raking through his white hair. The soft melodies of 'Cologne' by Beabadoobee fill the stream when he is quiet. The song finished up when one of your songs replaced the quietness, it was a cover you made of 'Paul' by Big Theif.

This is when his chat started flooding with new messages, ranging from questions asking him if he liked your music to how long he's been listening to you. As his arms finally fell from his hair, he looked at his chat when he saw the flood of new texts.

"I didn't know you listened to y/n's music... of course, I listen to their music, she's like one of my favorite artists." He said after reading some questions in his chat. Snickering at his chats surprised reaction, "I'm surprised some of you guys didn't know this, I follow them on twitter and on insta and I know some of you guys stalk my following and shit" He said as he was going back to the home screen of his game, deciding that it was enough of fortnite for him after playing around 10 rounds.

“Have you seen shes working on a new song? She posted about it on her twitter” he mumbled, reading one of the texts that caught his eye. “Yeah I saw her post, hopefully she posts a clip of her song. I know it’s gonna be good though.” He grins, exited that one of his favorite artist might release a song soon.

"Anyways, ima stopping the stream here, I'm done with fortnite for today. I might stream again in the weekend though, I'll tweet about it if I do." Waving at his face cam as he ended the stream, making sure to double-check it was off. He closed off any extra tabs he had open before shutting down his PC. Once he was finally done with his computer, he stood up and went to scroll on his phone on his bed, finally relieving the ache in his back due to his bad posture.

your opinion on manifestation?

I have a manifesting journal, I follow a few subreddits and twitters, and I’ve watched and read some literature, but for me, the most important thing is having a plan. If I’m writing something in my manifestation journal, I’m making a plan. I don’t think I’ve ever just written about wanting something with no plans to get it; if I’m writing, I’m making the first steps down the path of success and charting my journey. I’m someone who knows what she wants, and if I know what I want, I’m going to make sure that I get it.

I have a boyfriend now; it wasn’t hard to meet him. I wrote in my journal that I wanted one before I started university, wrote down the qualities and traits he should have, met the right guy on the first day, and made it official after a few months. I know what I want —> I’m going to get it. It’s as simple as that. When I still wasn’t sure of him but knew I wanted a relationship, I made a list of 20 social events I’d go to in order to meet more people and find potential dates.

My dream sorority was ΚΚΓ; I’m a major Meghan Markle fan, and her sorority is very prestigious and would have given me access to parts of life I’d never experienced before. I literally googled “how to get into Kappa," wrote down all of the knowledge I’d acquired, reached out to the sisters on Insta, went on one COB date, and was offered a bid. I know I’m good at making friends, so why agonize when I could actively pursue what I wanted? Again, as soon as I know what I want, I feel able to chase after it and get it.

I wanted an internship; my goal was to be in Europe for the entirety of the summer. I got my manifestation journal out, made a list of programs to apply to, gathered my documents, and did just that. Fully funded and furnished accommodation, a job with decent pay, I won’t be working insane hours, my contract is perfect for me, and I’ll be in the right area of town. All it took was me deciding I wanted something, writing it in my journal, working to get it, and then signing my name on the dotted line.

In my eyes, manifestation without serious action is useless. You have to actively want to change your life, and you must work for what you want. Do I believe that some people are lucky? Absolutely, but the vast majority of us are not the luckiest girls in the world; we have to work hard and make things work for ourselves. If you want something, you need to be willing to put yourself out there to get it and document your journey there so that you know you’re capable of doing it again.

something wonderfully important has happened! my "wrestling dad" josh shepard got his book of wrestling erasure poems published & it is up for sale (either 10$ or "name a fair price"). this is incredibly important to me as im one of the first people to have gotten the privilege to read these poems as josh wrote them. josh is incredibly important to me as a friend, he is the guy who introduced me to wrestling & gave me a deep, unrestricted passion for it.

josh is so fucking talented, & creative. he is also my favorite poet, not just bc he's my friend. the book's flow is dedicated to the flow of a wrestling match, following all the hallmarks (the lock up, big heat, the comeback, ect) with the themes of his poems to create a match like narrative for the book.

there are like three specific poems in the batch that i want tattooed on me, a stone cold one, a mick foley one, & a briscoe brother's piece. the aj lee pipebomb poem moved me to actual tears, even when i read it now. the macho man poem abt being bipolar struck me so hard i rethought my own feeling on my mental health. josh pushes impressive themes of capitalism, mental health, poverty, & family theoughout many of his poems. i know ive got a few wrestling fans here, & if you're also into poetry please considered josh's work. or just if you want to support a friend of mine.

a cool way to support josh's work is by requesting it at your local library! even suggesting to bookstores that have poetry sections or interacting with the work thats already published. following/reposting josh's work for exposure also is great.

One week since Nina’s first post, she practically disappeared from social media, but had appeared on a few TV interviews that discussed her decision. Being a semi high profile actress meant that that initial video journal went viral. Most reactions expressed neutral curiosity. Many others hounded her with judgment. The worst of them being “those” types who declare that she’s a traitor for welcoming non human creatures into her womb. But Nina hardly cared. On Friday morning, precisely a week after the first message came out, a new one was uploaded to YouTube and Instagram.

Nina was seen activating the live feed and backing up from her phone camera. She wore some very short shorts, and a snug grey hoodie. Already, one could tell that she was looking a bit bigger around her waistline just by looking at it, even with the hoodie covering it. Nina smiled.

“Hey guys! It’s that time of the week. I have a lot to tell you guys about, so save those super chats for a bit later. I’ll get to them after I talk about….this.” Nina moved into a position against the counter of her opulent kitchen and used both hands to lift up her hoodie. Her belly was indeed bigger. Like it had grown the normal pregnancy equivalent of several months over the course of a single week. It stretched past her shirts and had begun to hang over her waistband. Behind Nina on the counter was a plethora of foods that hadn’t been there before. As she held her hoodie up to her chest, she continued talking and watching her chat go by to gauge reactions.

“I know right? I’m huge already. I can’t even suck it in anymore, it’s just gonna keep growing from here. The craziest thing is like, I can already feel them moving in here. Like yesterday, I was walking down the road in downtown, and I just felt with wiggly feeling in my guts. I literally just stopped and put my hand right here…” Nina places her hand stop her lower stomach. “…and I just felt like a big ball of….worms were just moving. Then, my stomach made the loudest hunger rumble I’ve heard in my whole life. I’m not even kidding. I went home with like two whole meals from Wendy’s. So now I know that the increased appetite is staring to happen. I just ordered a bunch of food to keep around so I don’t have to keep leaving to go get it. DoorDash is such a lifesaver.”

Suddenly as she spoke, the camera picked up a deep, low groan that seemed to moan from Nina’s stomach. She looked down with a gaped jaw before she looked up and chuckled. “Speaking of food, I think they’re hungry again.”

After that, Nina threw off her hoodie and reached back to grab an apple from the counter behind her. She began to talk about how career has been going since the last post, talking with her mouth full as she began to almost mindlessly eat the apples one at a time.

“At this point I’m so glad I left Twitter. They’d have been eating me up for this decision, and I do mean everyone. You guys on YouTube and Insta are so much more accepting. Not much has really changed overall. I’ve been sending in voice work for that new Dreamworks movie I signed up for, I’ve gotten a few interviews lined up. I think you guys saw me show up on Jimmy Falon the other night. That was….fun. Honestly besides this,” She gestured to her belly. “I really don’t have that much to tell. I’ve just been pregnant and growing fast. I haven’t even heard any news from the Serpents. Their own guys have been going on TV or like that one big streamer had one of their special forces over at his house. That was like, wild. Woah, hold on..”

Nina stopped and held a hand over her stomach as she felt an audible groan swirl about inside with some moment from the brood. She grimaced slightly before her mouth hung open and a rather uncouth belch was let out.

“Uuuuuurrrrp! Geez! ‘Scuse me everyone. Wait, how many apples did I just eat??” Nina suddenly looked confused, not knowing at first to turn around and see over half a dozen apple cores on the counter behind her….

After reading super chats for about 10 minutes, she ended the stream.

The moment after the world cup, Jude’s fame became bigger and bigger. Not that he wasn’t already famous, he was, but - playing in front of millions of people got him a new wave of popularity he never excepted, and you couldn’t be happier for him, he was achieving everything he wished for. But you got dragged into this popularity thing too. You and Jude had been dating for over a year now, it wasn’t knew for his old fans as they always supported your relationship and made fanpages for the two of you. But, apparently, his new fans weren’t as thrilled as everyone was.

Of course, you weren’t to lie. Jude was pretty handsome, and for being so young a lot of girlies expected him to be single so they all went mad when they found out they were dating someone, you. You, who weren’t famous or a model or a celebrity, you were completely normal. Finishing your studies, being appassionate of arts and music. That’s what made them hate you the most - the fact that by just looking at you, they knew you weren’t anything special, just a girl like them and the fact that you were dating of the most popular football player at the moment.

So, instead of being happy for Jude they started hating you.

It first happened when you posted a picture for Christmas Day. It was a simple picture of you, Jude and your huge christmas tree in the background and what you didn’t expect was to see your comments section filled with hate.

The second time it happened it was when you posted a picture of the eternal city, Rome, when you were visiting it with your family. A lot of people said you were in Italy because you were cheating on Jude and how he didn’t deserve you, how he deserved someone better.

And so went on. Everytime you posted a picture you would see your comments section filled with hate, and honestly - you weren’t used to it.

“I can’t believe Jude is dating her” someone said.

“She’s so ugly, Jude could have everyone he wanted, why her?” another one said.

“Someone saves Jude from her, he clearly doesn’t love her!!” someone else said.

And those comments were the nicest. A lot of people commented on your appearance, how you weren’t made to date a football player for how simple you were. They commented on your looks, on your weight, on your style. Basically everything you posted about.

You got tired of it and decided to block all of those people and put your instagram in private mode.

So the hate started on Twitter.

“She really blocked me! That bitch…I can’t believe Jude is dating someone like her!” someone commented on twitter.

“Her royalty got her instagram in private mode so we can’t judge her…she might think she’s special lol” another girl said.

But what was worse is that it wasn’t you who who saw the comments - no - it was Jude. He was casually scrolling through his phone when his eyes landed on his name being the first thing to appear on Twitter.

Of course he was curious so he simply clicked on it.

He wasn’t really pleased with what he was reading. He immediately went into your insta to check if the comments were real and it broke his heart reading all of those mean comments about you.

He couldn’t believe someone would say something so mean to you, the most beautiful and kind person he ever met in his life.

He wanted to confront you about it.

“Babe…” he called you from the living room, knowing you were in the kitchen making some tea.

“Yes Jude?” you shouted from the door.

“Can you come here for a sec please?” he asked so you grabbed your hot tea and went straight into the living room, sitting on the couch next to him.

“Is everything okay?” you asked him.

“You tell me…” he looked at you a little worried and you probably already knew that he was referring to.

“Yes…everything’s good” you said not looking at him.

“Darling please…I saw the comments…I saw how you put your in instagram private, baby…why didn’t you tell me?” he softly asked you, not wanting to upset you.

“Because I didn’t want to bring you up in this! You don’t need any more dramas added to your life Jude and by the way I truly don’t care about those comments…” you lied and he could tell.

“My love, I know you’re hurting…but I want you to know that none of what you read is true okay? I need you to know that I’m so in love with you…” he scooped you into his arms “ you’re the most important person in my life, you’re the one I love and the one I want to spend the the rest of my life with…I love you…” he said smiling at you as you were fully crying now.

“I don’t deserve you Jude…” you said, your glossy eyes meeting his eyes.

“I don’t deserve you y/n…you’re too kind and special” he looked at you with lovey eyes “I don’t know how I got so lucky to have met someone like you, to have you in my life…you’re too kind for this world baby” he kissed your cheek as he gently wiped away your tears.

“I love you Jude…” you whispered laying your head on his chest.

“I love you more” he whispered and you smiled.

That night you finished drinking your tea as you both started watching some comedy show on a random channel.

Before going to bed Jude posted a picture of the two of you and decided to write some words for you.

“This person next to me is the kindest, funniest and brightest person in the world and I truly cannot believe how some “fans” mistreated her in the first place. I’ve read comments in the last days that made me shiver, how can someone be so cruel to a person you don’t even know? Is it jealousy? I truly don’t care what are your reasons but I want you all to stop immediately directing your hate to my girlfriend just because we’re dating. There’s clearly a reason if I’m dating her and not you btw…She doesn’t deserve all this hate and I want you all to stop please…you don’t know how your words can hurt someone, sometimes words hurt more than a punch, stop talking bad about y/n and go on with your lives, thank you!”

You were in bed smiling reading what Jude wrote about you.

“Thank you” you whispered to him as you laid on his chest.

A few weeks back, I went to my mum's to spend the weekend with my family. My little brother, at one moment, came up to me and told me that he was fat and that he hated it.

My youngest brother is 9. He's an adorable, beautiful, brilliant kid, the kind of kid that one moment will tease you and in the next will wrap his arms around you in a tight hug. One day, when he's mature enough, I'll sit down with him and we'll talk about this at length. For now, I tell him what I've always told him: that all that matters is whether he's healthy, that nobody has the right to talk about someone else's body, that I love him very much and that he's absolutely beautiful.

Being almost 30, I definitely feel more comfortable in my own skin. Still, this brought me back to when I was a teenager, of how I didn't want to be only in a bikini when I went to the beach, so I left my shirt and shorts on. It brought me to the comments I hear nowadays from the women around me in my office regarding their 'needs' to go on a esthetic diet or their guilt for eating a snack.

We start consuming entertainment from such a young age. With hype, comes popularity, trends, and so does our desire to look like someone else. Positive body representation in media is absolutely essential.

And there's been enough toxic representation (there shouldn't have been any in the first place!) Off the top of my head, Monica Geller from Friends is represented as someone ridiculed because of the way her body used to look like. Penelope Featherington from Bridgerton is someone we are all reminded constantly of how undesirable she's in the Ton (and do not get me started on that heavily, HEAVILY edited promo pic for season 3)

So, positive representation. Not exaggerating, Nina Zenik is one of the first I've seen.
