I know the decision to have Julian's parents have him augmented was made on the fly but imo its pretty obvious from early on that Julian has Family Issues because he avoids talking about his family like the plague and I think they should've incorporated this into the Julian and Sisko dynamic right from early on because I think it would've made for some really compelling stories and moments and could've set up a REALLY interesting Julian and Jake dynamic which they kinda started to do but never fully went for

"not as it seems" my ASS it took about 15 seconds for me to decide gerry'd been lobotomized in this universe. it's like 5am and these people presumably showed up at your door with no explanation, and you asked NO questions before inviting them in!? wdym you "barely remember" what happened to you at the institute? how young could he even have been if the institute incident happened about 20 years ago, old enough to remember way more than that surely? the glitch/scratch when gertrude said she didn't think he could help them? is that indicative of someone using entity related powers like it was in tma or does it just mean she's lying? this is so funny to me it wasn't even subtle at all everyone just decided it was more fun to live in denial ig. in floyd's defense, he has no idea how human pregnancies work. he slept through that part of land boot camp!!! fell asleep the minute the professor started droning on about how humans don't lay eggs like mers do. jade can only chuckle (maybe he knew, but in classic jade fashion he won't tell because it's much more entertaining to sit back and watch everyone slowly figure it out) and azul is shaking his head in disbelief. had he known, he would have prepared well in advance to lend a helping hand. and you're just so amazed because maybe you were told you're unable to get pregnant, but somehow it happened and you had no idea all this time.

It's canon. The way I see it, the events taking place in the fic and after it aren't canon but a lot of them significantly mirror and overlap with what I've had in mind, so the line is blurry in places. Character details like the one you mentioned are accurate, or at least I can't think of any that aren't.
