Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

I'm leaning towards either Cater or Ace, personally! Trey and Deuce have kinda already had their character arcs -- though someone else did mention to me that they thought it might be Trey, because so far all the vices have gotten one. though that might just be coincidence. we'll find out I guess!

my red-string-on-corkboard theory is that Ace is gonna get his arc + UM during whatever goes down with Grim, so while I could be completely wrong, I think it'd be nice if it were Cater's time to shine! ...also I am VERY curious as to what his dream is gonna be. 👀 like, I don't think he's gonna be all angsty or anything, he's a pretty cheery guy even though he pretends to be more vapid than he is, but...what would he be like if he were less. y'know.

(also I kind of want him to get the focus just because I think it'd be a shame if all he got was a super-quick 'oh his dream is to have a billion followers or whatever, now let's go on to the next person'. c'mon Twst. give him some love.)

I like the concept of Dreamtale. I recognize that it is not a polished or perfect work, nor does it need to be!

As I recently soaked up information about it I can say that the way the creator has handled the story is a bit disastrous and it is quite disappointing that we do not have the full story (is not exactly a bad thing, we have Horrortale that still in the works but the quality is a little bit much better).

It is supposed to be an AU but at the same time it is not because it has nothing to do with Undertale, the universe exists because it "snuck" into the Undertale multiverse as explained.

That sounds interesting but it doesn't really convince me in particular.

Joku has done a good job with Dream in particular, his character is amazing, I love it. Nightmare is also well defined. I mean, the twins are the most interesting part of Dreamtale more than the details of the world in which they were intended to move. I think part of the disconnection of Dreamtale with Undertale is one of the difficulties it has.

It feels like a one-off work that ties itself into a whole universe to have some relevance at times too.

I have to say that the Undertale fandom has been able to shower Dream and Nightmare with fascinating details that have managed to cement them as recurring characters in many fan works when the canon falters on many occasions and I appreciate that because the twins are very interesting but their story is not quite up to par at the moment.

Transcript: I cannot help but express my disappointment in Dreamtale in particular. I can see the wonder and interesting concepts in the AU, but the narrative falls flat and feels more like a self-indulgent sansverse inclusion more than a Multiverse-oriented fanwork. While Dream and Nightmare are semi-interesting characters and aren't completely one-note, there are so many creator statements and pieces of lore that contradict who they are, what made the UNDERTALE Multiverse special, and the AU itself, such as Dream not supporting Ink's outlook on AUs yet being completely fine with the hedonistic, destructive nature of error, or Ccino's relationship with Nightmare being semi-canon, which contradicts what he's meant to be (Pure negativity)... Dreamtale lacks consistency. In addition, Dreamtale isn't native to the multiverse, yet for some reason the AU influences everyone's feelings in the UTMV? This is the same kind of parasitic logic used by ALPHATALE, one of the worst AUs to ever exist, Joku. I'm sorry, but I cannot suspend my disbelief any longer. Ask-Error and Poppy's story worked because they were RELEVANT, not intrusive... don't even get me started on the plot holes.

We finally got to the comic that actually made me think about this AU in the first place. After I was mulling around the idea of Loop looking like Siffrin the whole time, I realised that the conversation of "who or what do you think I am?" doesn't apply anymore. But you know what would?

The question of why Loop is even here in the first place. Because while it's nice to have another you around to help you out of the loops, isn't it weird that they're even here? Who sent them?

i also just want to point out the qsmp members' commitment to like never letting the inactive members die. like dantdm logged on twice and is canonically dead and everyone continues to blame mysterious happenstance on him. spreen is canonically dead and yet people are still like namedropping him even tho the house façade he built has been demolished and also probably consumed by a mountain. they meme on kameto who's barely been on except that time he was a fed spy that was iconic as hell. they just immortalize their members and they're always so happy to see old faces come back and it lowkey makes me emotional lmfaoo like missa barely logged on for a while but goddamn nobody forgot his name bc philza can't go one day without mentioning him and mariana barely logs on but every time fit saw the homeless mariana in roier's city no matter what he'd stop dead and tell it "come home" and when slime came back to the server for elections after having logged off for the last like two months everyone was still excited to meet him bc the others had kept his memories on the server fresh and alive, maxo died canonically in the nuke and pierre pasted his face all over the server, luzu vanished for months and we never forgot him either thanks to the computers and foolish's wack ass family tree. like when purgatory teams were chosen and team red constantly joked about how it would be so over for the other teams once germán logged on despite the fact that germán had only ever logged on ONCE, the way they cheered when they snatched rubius in the split of green despite the fact that rubius hadn't logged on more than twice since march. they just keep the names alive all the time and it's like
