a cute detail about mean girls (musical) is how janis always cuddles cady in the background whenever damien is talking or they’re standing around etc, and she doesn’t shy away from doing so even after cady learns about the lesbian rumor. it would’ve been very normal and teenaged girl of her to worry if cady sees her differently after this knowledge but nope, not janis. cady can make her own boundaries and change them if she feels the need to (she didn’t) but janis isn’t going to change anything about herself to accommodate others. and being affectionate with her friends is a part of her personality. i just think it’s a sweet detail they (at least the actors) put in there.
