Beauty and the Beast AU

Because I can’t get this idea out of my head, but it’s not yet fully-formed. There is one hell of a BatB AU in Ayeir and Samte’s love story.

Ayeir is the Beast, and Samte is the Beauty. That much is fairly obvious, methinks.

I think Sayin is the sorceress who cursed Ayeir, honestly, or some version of it - that seems to make her influence way too small, so maybe I’ll change it later, but that’s all I’ve got at the moment. (Actually, as I think about it, I kind of like her not being a hugely present influence, but with her actions having lasting consequences on Ayeir that Samte helps to fix and heal - that’s a surprisingly nice parallel to canon.)

Because I’m a sucker for Disney, Zana and Evekk probably make some parallel of Lumiere and Cogsworth (in that order), though they won’t be completely faithful to either canon!Zana and Evekk or the original Lumiere and Cogsworth. Evekk hates Samte at first but gradually comes around to grudgingly liking her; Zana likes her almost immediately.

Vesh’ala is definitely Mrs. Potts, which is a wild turn of events, but it fits stupidly well - mother figures. So I guess Vesh never died in this AU, which is a nice change of pace for her. (That does make Achil’vedra some parallel of Chip, I think? Which is a bit weird, but all right.)

I had to think about who the hell is Gaston in this AU??? for a while before it hit me - change the relationship with Samte/Beauty, and Ashe can pretty easily become Gaston. Make them a little more obnoxious by accentuating their self-righteous tendencies and increasing their confidence, and make them protective of Samte and with a “you’ve been taken in by the evil of the Beast” perspective they probably would have had in canon anyway had they been a little more self-confident and a little older, and they become a pretty good Gaston parallel.

I have no idea who that makes Lefou. The only logical choice is Achil’vedra, but Achil’vedra also logically should be part of Beast!Ayeir’s household staff still when Beauty!Samte finds her.

Oh, and Amaron Shiir is definitely Samte’s father-figure in this AU, even more than he already is. He might even literally be her father in this case.

Now I want to draw something to Evermore from the live-action version. *sigh*
