Banana Milk is plastic and fabric (no porcelain) and they smell vaguely of cherries or almonds and it reminds me of a clown doll i had as a kid that i can barely remember other than the smell. its so nostalgic 🥹💕🌈

Behold! My longest bind yet! Which is saying something, really. I began typesetting an anthology of @thychesters incredible zolu fics sometime last fall, printed the textblock in February, and finished the case... well, that's between me and god. Life happens! This was an unexpectedly tricky bind and I hope I did the gorgeous fics inside (and @loopeyfluff / @fluffyartbl0g's lovely fanart) justice!!

The cover is made of nine pieces, not including bookboard. I wanted VERY badly for the case to be entirely flush while still having an old-school layered appearance, so what you're actually looking at is filled blue fabric, a layer of white printed + foiled cardstock cut to lay against the corners, and then a layer of extremely thin translucent marbled paper with both the corners and negative space for the "labels" carefully cut out.

In order to gild the manga panel edit (taken from Sunny's introduction, btw) I printed and cut the cardstock, but before i glued it onto the bookboard i used washi tape, heat-reactive foil, and an iron (i'm cheap!) to carefully foil the parts that I wanted. This was my first time using proper toner-adhering heat reactive foil, and it was definitely a learning curve. I did lots of tests (sooo many foiled stickers. so many) and had a fun time. I'll definitely be using it in the future!!

After the layers of paper and fabric were pressed, I used metallic HTV to hide the seams and title the spine. It's a very neat effect, I think.

The edges of the textblock are also layered, with two coats of matte acrylic (pastel blue and green respectively) and one coat of green shimmer. The shimmer coat acts like a kind of sealant for the matte paints, so I didn't need to break out the beeswax this time. This was also one of the first sets I did with my guillotine (I cut it with Conquering and Spill Your Wine), which was an experience in and of itself.

I used white endbands and a 5mm white silk ribbon (looped this time; learned my lesson), then topped the bookmark off with a gold anchor charm. The textblocks are sewn with teal and green thread. And oh! And the endsheets are a teal, blue, green, and gold marble that's absolutely to die for—and kept staining everything blue the minute it touched moisture! Totally worth it though.

The typeset is my most colorful, I think. I went pretty heavy on the ocean themes because Kate has a really distinct pattern for her titles, and I wanted the book to follow!! I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and also endlessly delighted that Kate proofread her own typeset. That was very fun, hehe.

All in all, I think this was a very successful project despite the endless delays, and the final books look exactly like I pictured. I happy to send them to their new homes!! <3

Hehe! It’s been a while since I posted anything, so why not now?

I’m actually working on something idly between shifts and sleep, but it’s not ready at all so…..

Here’s my little lil fairy-sona, which I got after taking @frulleboi ‘s quiz!

Their @linked-maze comic is sooo cute! And also inspiring…

My lil fairy is a Gerudo Highlands cave fairy! She tries hard to make friends, but can’t seem to figure out that maybe she should dust herself off, first. The insides of her wings glow orange, and so do her eyes and scars. She hates bright light, blue light especially, so she’s glad that sheikah tech is gone now, but her enemy now is the mirrors. She hangs out in hollowed-out stalactites, and she nests there as well. Her favorite flower is the swift violet! It makes her faster when she munches on it, which enhances her cheetah-like speed (let’s not talk about her cheetah-like stamina, tho). She has only a few friends, but they all live far away (sea, forest, etc.), so she daydreams and digs holes as a pastime. She only goes around hylians for the food, especially the spicy stuff. Otherwise? She is outta there and back to her comfy little home where she sleeps for hours.

I had a lot of fun designing this lil fairy, but not as much fun with the colors (my weakness)

aaron 😭😭😭 taking the kiddos back to school shopping <3333

jack and your daughter for instance - you're the one who takes them clothes shopping, so aaron's in charge of the supplies. it can easily turn into a chaotic mess and therefore everyone gets into a bad mood LOL SO he makes it as orderly and organized as possible (just as he is). he doesn't want them just throwing everything and anything they see into the cart - aaron has the lists in hand, everyone ventures through the aisles, and he goes through the lists according to what aisle they're in so it's not a back and forth kind of ordeal. and it makes it sooo much more easy and quicker.

jack's well practiced - he doesn't need as much help, can read his school supply list himself and grab materials with little to no assistance from aaron, aaron just double checks to make sure jack is getting the correct art supplies, sized binder or paper, things like that. AND jack helps out his baby sister too hehe 🥹 he shows her everything 'the cool kids' have 😭 since he's experienced, after all and he wants her to be the coolest kindergartener there is <3333 baby girl sticks onto everything jack says <333 getting exactly what he describes and tossing it into the cart with no hesistation. hehe and aaron is just besides himself watching 🥹🥰💓💞 he loves them both so much <33333

aaron letting your daughter pick out a (and her first🥹) super fun backpack and lunch box 🥹 <3333333 hehe he shows her the backpack aisle and her eyes just LIGHT UP with allllll the possibilities. aaron helps her narrow it down too - to her favorite color, fav princess, super hero, movie or anything she happens to love <3 he also explains to her to pick out one that has a lot of space, maybe one that has a matching lunchbox that snaps to the front, one that has a lil side pocket for a water bottle. and as they're doing that, jack's also eyeing all the backpacks 👀 he finds one he LOVES, and one that's a bit more grown up because he's more grown up, he's beginning to outgrow having a themed bag - like spiderman, star wars, etc. - and opts for a plain colored one 🥲

and once the lists are complete and the hotchner fam makes their way home - hehe everyone’s showing you what they picked out aka what daddy let them get hehe <3 because the main highlights are obviously things that weren't actually on the lists 😭 the set of markers that have more colors than the usual for example, jack's thrilled he got mechanical pencils rather than the wooden ones, folders than have designs instead of a solid color.

and your daughter 🥹🥹🥹 is SO excited about her new backpack <3333 hehe it's absolutely ginormous on her since she's a tiny little thing - it swallowing her makes aaron want to cry LOL - how is his little baby going off to kindergarten??! 😭😭😭 and she literally refuses to take it off too, she wears it around the house and you and aaron practically have to rip it off her to make sure it remains new for at least the first week of school 😭

when jack shows you his new backpack, you give aaron a look like - jack’s backpack from last year was perfectly fine and useable, he only needed a new lunch box BUT he just offers you a shrug LOL. it's hard for him to stay no to the kiddos, and he didn't want jack to feel left out since baby girl hotchner got a new one, AND he wants jack to feel confident returning to school so if that means getting a new backpack, then getting a new backpack it is <3 and of course once he explains the whole reason why jack got a new one, you totally understand (and it makes you a tad sad because jack is growing up 🥺😭)

aaron helps label all the supplies too <333 it's a team effort by all - aaron goes through the list again, tells the kiddos to grab something, they hand it to him, he labels, hands it off to you, and into the backpack it goes 🫵🏻 and the hotchner are allllll ready for the new school year <333 🥰

Meet Destiny Cresentas! Catch phrase: "If the wig fits, wear it!" (Please don't ask what was going through my thought process but it was something)

I haven't really done anything with her (safe for now...) But I always imagined her to be like the "shyest girl in town" and has a weirdly okay friendship with mischa???? Like you will NEVER see them talking in public but they are able to keep up with each other's personal life

Destiny really likes drawing and one time was caught by Mischa as she was drawing on herself (using a marker she found under a desk) and Mischa for some reason REALLY liked it and asked her to give him a tattoo, destiny thought he was joking untill she realized he WASNT joking, sooo she made a huuuggeeee heart tattoo that said "M x T" standing for Mischa x Talia lol and ever since then they have been doing pretty good

Something in common they have is that they are both not originally from Canada! Destiny is actually Indonesian, her parents changed her name so they could fit in more and thought destiny was a beautiful name, she's also very fluent in English and even more better at it than Indonesian (totally not projecting)

Aside from her friendship with Mischa shes quite shy and quiet so she has barely any friends, even though she tries it seems like she will never build any sort of communication skills, some writings put in her yearbook was:

"Who?"

"I don't know who you are but you seem nice!"

"Uhmm I don't know what to say I barely knew you hehe"

She's not in the choir and will NEVER be in the choir as she has absolutely no talent in singing and doesn't wish to try at all, she also sees all of the choir members to be a tad bit... Weird.. (Except Mischa like yeah he is..somethinh but she excuses him)

She sometimes watches the rehearsals for fun and hypes them up! Though she is kind of scared of ocean.... And by scared I mean "not necessarily avoiding her but also doesn't try correcting her sometimes because 1. Social anxiety 2. She is a terrifying perfectionist and Destiny has bad experiences with them"

Oh and also she has bad vision so she wears (colored) contacts, her natural eye color is brown

Violet will be finding out in the next Bo and Darling chapter, whenever that will be. (I think I’m gonna go back and forth with their timeline a little bit? idk. It’s already all over the place, sooo…) Bo won’t be there at the time but if he was he’d definitely be smug about it. He’s a “wife guy” 100%. Just wait until their fifth anniversary (sometime in May of the Fourth Wing year)… that’s going to be such a fun, fluffy (and possibly sexy) chapter.

“Why Dain” is a fantastic question that I will not be answering at this time. but it involves Love, of course.

the “where tf is my wife” is going to be so. good. we finally get to see our sweet boy snap a little bit… and then take the most gentle care of his lady after. cuddles and just so much softness and love.

Anyways I do actually have extra text for this one other than stating the obvious so uhm! I am working on something super cool right now (since I’ve given up hope for a Land of The Lustrous season two I’ve decided to just animate & voice act some of my favorite scenes from the manga that weren’t adapted in season one of the anime myself and I’m working on one and it looks surprisingly good so far)

Anyways request time!! Can you share your thoughts on caregiver Fyodor with a vent regressor little… sighs. This one is actually based on my one experience regressing during the day rather than things I do normally. It was not very joyful nor whimsical.

That sounds like it’ll be so cool! I saw when you answered my request that procrastination is taking over though… Remember I believe in you! I’m sure you can do it, take as much time as you need!

ִֶָ࣪☾. Vent regression is never fun. And Fyodor hates seeing his little one upset… So he does everything in his power to keep them happy! Fyodor likes to control things to keep himself happy, keeping his little one happy? Just as important of course! He’ll do whatever it takes, he has just about no limits if his little one is upset, god forbid they’ve worked themselves up to tears. He doesn’t even want to let them get to that point

ִֶָ࣪☾. He’ll buy anything and everything that can comfort his baby! Comfort food? Already bought. Pacifiers help during panic attacks, forces someone to breathe through their nose to prevent hyperventilating. Weighted plushies and blankets. Light projectors to never sleep in the dark. Comfort show on in the background 24/7 of course. And he’ll play his cello! I love the idea of caregiver Fyodor playing his cello for his little one hehe

ִֶָ࣪☾. Fyodor very much so wants to eliminate all problems. Sensory issues? New clothes and calm music immediately, lights turned off or low. Someone was mean to his little one? He’ll handle them, make sure they leave his baby alone, then go comfort them! Explaining how the mean person was wrong and how his baby is sooo amazing! Favorite show had to stop being produced? He’ll literally fund the studio if it means they’ll keep producing stuff

ִֶָ࣪☾. He’ll always check in! Ask the little how they’re feeling if they’re big enough to talk. If they’re only able to do simple words he’ll find a system with like colors or temperature to explain how they’re feeling. Or if they’re totally nonverbal he can work with hand signals, drawing, etc. Many options! He wants to give his baby alllll the options possible so he can know how they’re feeling and fix any problems!

ִֶָ࣪☾. Very very pushy on water. Vent regression usually ends in crying, even if he tries really hard to avoid it. And crying is super dehydrating! So water is the solution! He’ll buy cute sippy cups or bottles, and he’ll put extra stuff in the water like honey or flavoring! It helps it not only taste better but also to feel better on the little ones sore throat. Plus the cute cup is really encouraging! Especially if he holds the bottle for them, makes them feel soooo tiny

ִֶָ࣪☾. He’s very patient with tantrums! He understands that a little baby can’t express their feelings to well, so they burst out in a tantrum usually! While this isn’t ideal of course, he’d never get mad! He waits for them to calm down, offering comforting words and affection. Then while they’re calming down he’ll try to find the problem, and a solution! He doesn’t want anything upsetting his little baby, they don’t deserve all that yucky stress (>﹏<)

ִֶָ࣪☾. Babbling can actually be really helpful! He’ll hold his little one on his lap and gently rub their hips to soothe them and ask them what’s wrong. He’ll listen diligently! Even if he can’t understand a single word they’re saying, he’ll listen! He’s always gonna be there for them. He’ll nod along, reacting as if he understands them perfectly and reassuring them that everything is ok!

ִֶָ࣪☾. Fyodor always makes sure his little one is taking care of themselves! Makes sure they’re eating, taking baths, and getting outside enough. He’ll make their favorite foods, served on a cute plate of course. He’ll make them special bubble bath’s with all sorts of calming soaps and lotions. He’ll bring some toys outside to play in the grass to make sure the little one is getting some sunlight and fresh air

My life is finally calming down! The Comic Con was… An event. I had fun though! There were three BSD cosplayers and I saw three different Miku cosplays! I enjoy drawing horns-and-frills the most, they're so beasty~ I also really like their anatomy. Designing them was so fun! Making them into a mer was sooo much fun too hehe

Their jaws and tongue anatomy WAS SO FUN TO MAKE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!! I love how on board everyone was with it too pdjddjfh. And of course their big claws on their feet and their tail are very dear to me.

I love that I've been able to so seamlessly combine my love for creature design/anatomy with the dca! I have to give a big shout-out and thanks to @naffeclipse for making such beautiful stories with such wonderful beasts in them. Her writing is the reason why these designs exist in the first place ❤️

I think I'm the most proud of the ferrofluid boys. I feel it's a solid design and concept. Also it's very fun to explore the possibilities that present themselves when you have a semi-liquid based character. You can shape them however you want! They're liquid, like a cat!

Some fun little things about the ferrofluid boys: (it gets a little gory btw, so light gore warning for that!)

Their skin/surface looks a lot like oil spill, deep black with swirls of colors, mainly red and blue (and yes the colors actually swirl around, the patterns move and shift). The colors are mostly concentratet around their rays, claws and back spikes.

I imagine them being fully "liquid" except for a skeleton holding them up, so their organs and muscles are all the same substance. The skeleton is very thin and jagged. When they're very weak or very hurt you can see their sharp vertebrae sticking out of their back and the goop in their chest drips over and out of their ribs. Also their spikes shrink as they grow weaker, they need energy to hold their shape.

[unexploded anon] first of all about the protags: yes. yeag. ur right. that aside you cant really... make any interesting decisions in fo4? which also leads to that fixed character feel. sure you can decide which faction to join but thats it. you dont get several ways of solving things like the nv moon quest for example. as soon as they went teehee no more karma and a voiced protag it was so over.

that aside my biggest grievance with bethany esdas version of fo(esp 4)is that they simply cannot write anything that isnt "the world was destroyed and it sucks now also the brotherhood of steel is here". theyre sooo scared to move on from it— or perhaps they are just afraid to say anything? a big point of fo1 and 2 and nv is bad thing happened how do we move on from that. they rebuild! they have huge cities! theyve started printing money again by fo2! things arent great sure but they are developing!

the plot in the new show revolves around who threw the first bomb so we can all point our fingers at the real bad guy actually which feels like such a big misunderstanding to me and again shows that they simply cannot move on from the hoho! big war happen! plot. they even went and nuked the big settlements so theyre back to that status quo and its just so LAME. wheres the hopeful spark of humanity in this. wheres anything that isnt just hehe bomb go boom heres the brotherhood of steal (while simultanously yassifying the ghouls so they look less scary as if they arent a direct result of the horrors of war youre so fixated on gg)

[unexploded anon] i guess theres nothing wrong with like. things that dont have to be deeper and you can just go and play fo4 and have fun with whats there but what always gets me is that it USED TO BE. cooler. it used to be cooler and had something to say and now its just an aesthetic to sell i guess.

definitely interesting to hear perspective from a first 2 fallouts enjoyer...this is a true war never changes moment. at this point i do think the brotherhood of steel and their big old promo material power armor is probably a brand recognition association with their brand. they do also seem to lean into marketable in-universe branding like the vault boy and nuka-cola but without the irony which is a critique i've seen a lot of that i'm inclined to agree with and also unfortunately kind of funny if i'm honest.

fo4 does seem like it could be fun if it's the sort of action game you're in the market for and i think if i was in the right mood it could be something i could've gotten further in. the universe contorted me into playing new vegas and only new vegas. i was so smoothtalked by todd howard's fallout 4 e3 presentation that i resolved to get it when it came out, and to bide the time before, got fallout 3 and found i could not get it to run on my laptop. i refunded 3 and begrudgingly got new vegas as a compensation, which ran like a dream, but i didnt get past the first time in my first attempt - i found the wasteland crunchy and unnerving with its evil beasts and thought "maybe fallout 4 will be more comforting - it's more colorful". then fallout 4 came out and i could not run it. so then i turned back to new vegas. and now i LOVE the crunchy wasteland and the evil beasts.

Do you have any favorite sona designs?

... actually, I do have my biases towards different sona designs, yeah. Especially since I've drawn so many of them and I just have a collection of the official council-approved sonas. I can name a few under the cut~

Let's see... this IS in a somewhat particular order tbh? Not least favorite bias to most favorite bias but... I DO have my favorite sonas, both lore-wise and design-wise. You'll see as I get further down that I DO say "so and so is my third/second/most favorite" or whatever but the beginning bit is just. YOU. you know. Well, that's enough of that, let's actually get into this, huh.

I think the first sona I want to mention is Blackwail actually! ( Originally designed by @paperbcy )

Blackwail is Yuu's sona, and I've always had a certain affinity towards their sona, even if I didn't get the chance to draw them a ton. I loved their purple and red color palette a lot, and they were always just really delightful to draw in any capacity. They were always just... a lot of fun. And their different AU variants were always so silly, especially Whitewail and Doodlewail...

Of course, I can't talk about Blackwail without mentioning their right-hand protagonist, Nerissa! Nerissa isn't a sona technically speaking, but rather, she is an in-universe character Blackwail created! And ough she's so pretty I'm SKJEDFNKSJDFNKSJDNF /j

I think a good shoutout here would be their hospital variants? I like them a ton, but... not so MUCH they get their own spot. But they are very pretty variant designs and I do feel they are worth the mention.

I think the next sona worth mentioning is Pins' two personas!! Personally, me? I love the Eel Sona, she's always been my favorite out of the two sonas, so I'll mostly be talking about her. ( Originally designed by @one0p1nk )

Miss Eel is just sO PRETTY. I love her. Mwah. I want to give her a kiss (on the cheek) (respectfully) (and with permission)

Okay so enough of that, but I just really love what Miss Eel has going on with her palette and design... I really love those purples and the pops of white and pink. I also just love the butler-like vibes Miss Eel has going on, and the characterization of Miss Eel is just sooo good. Pins usually goes with the pink version of her sons (Miss Vampire) and usually that's the version you will see me draw most times but let it be KNOWN Miss Eel has a special place in my heart.

Miss Eel doesn't have a ton of lore unfortunately so she won kind of based on aesthetic appeal (and dream world shenanigans) over some other options inside my folder of sonas... hehe...

I love myself a bad bitch with red hair I won't even lie to you.

Linzer makes her way onto this list for a few reasons. Design-wise, she's mostly neutral colors with this pretty red color for her hair. Lore-wise, she's an author who's responsible for stories such as "The Emerald Masquerade", "The Theatre of Darkness", and "The DECORA Incident" to name a few. She's supposed to be the version of me who runs Essence and AU lore!

I don't know what it is in particular that I adore about Linzer specifically, I just kind of enjoy Linzer as a whole in general, more than some of the other sonas. She's also just a bad bitch in general so. bonus points!!

This one might come as a surprise to you guys but... I think Satoru and Nihil are my third favorite sonas...??????

Especially if you know the beef I have outwardly with Satoru himself and how MEAN he is to my poor poor wife... He's actually really chill and fun behind closed doors. And he's really funny (he needs to stop calling me babygirl though /j) and I think this sona just captures their vibes really well... a little too well actually... it's giving "silly little freak" actually. I also like his secondary form a ton, ngl??? His secondary form technically has a different name but that's for later (not EVER /j)

As for Nihil, unfortunately, those two are kind of just "do not separate" coded. I really like Nihil lore wise and design wise, which is why she's so high up among the several dozen sonas. You might think these two are new, and you'd be. half wrong??? Satoru is new, yeah, but Nihil has been around for a while now, she just finally got herself officially drawn alongside Satoru.

Enter: The Boundary Walker.

That's Nihil's title! She's present in a lot of AUs and concepts (as well as the world where my ocs all originate from), but always on the outside, looking in. She's a record keeper and the main manifestation of an entity known as "The Nihility", which is where her name originates from.

and like, the lore these two have is it's own whole thing that also kind of got them all the way up here but that isn't what you came to hear so.

Okay so. Don't be mad. But my second favorite sona... isn't just one. But rather, everyone from the Halloween sona set. But if I had to choose just one, then.......... these two. Specifically, Joe. (The one on the left side in purple)

Simply put... these two are the highest up here because they are based on video game hackers! The purple and green color schemes the two of them has going on has always been one of my favorite schemes, but Joe in specific is based on a galaxy, and galaxies are one of my favorite things in the world to color...

I also just really love the asymmetry in the design, it's all over their design. I also think Klai's complimenting design just really adds to Joe's Halloween design?? Joe's design in a mix of light colors with a pop of neon purple, while Klai's is more the opposite, dark and neon with a pop of light green and white. Alongside these, they both have the other's signature color somewhere in their design and. God, I love it when designs compliment each other heheh.

As for them lore wise... chaotic hackers... chaotic hackers for life... look at them... this IS favoritism at its finest...

Joe and Klai just have really nice base sonas in GENERAL anyways so... I simply put a trick or treat spin on them and if Halloween isn't my favorite holiday <3

Tae has so many really nice and really pretty sonas, like Tama, Tazai, Jason and more. And honestly, it was kind of hard to choose just one Tae sona since, there's so many and they're all so pretty...

And I hate to disappoint everyone by saying that it isn't Tazai and Yabel taking the number one spot.

It's surprising, yeah. From the amount of stuff I've drawn of them to their complete character lore to just how much I love Tazai (for better or for. worse.) and while he's quite far up there... I could never fully say he was my favorite sona. Not just of Tae's but out of everyone total.

And yeah, Yabel is a really fun sona both lore-wise and to draw but she was never my favorite of my own sonas either. But still I can't deny the facts those two would always be the most well-known and most popular sonas I've ever created and I probably ever WILL create.

Everyone knows their name, their faces, their personalities, and who they are as sonas. As people.

They are well known and well-loved for a reason.

......... but they aren't my favorite. Sorry if you bet money on them even appearing in this list /j

But, uh. my favorite sona of all time is actually someone I hate drawing lmao. Funnily enough. There isn't anything wrong with his design per say, I just struggled with it a lot... so it always put me a little off of drawing him again.

I've drawn this sona a total of... one time... (well technically twice because I JUST drew him today specifically for this ask when I realized I didn't have ANY other art of him... but that doesn't really count to me) which speaks to the testimony of whatever the FUCK he's got going on lmao. Every sona on this list has been drawn at least three times (with the Halloween sonas being an exception) so to only be drawn once... seemed a little dramatic for the number one spot...

There's a multitude of reasons I gave him this top spot... but if I had to give just one right now... it's something many of the others here on this list kind of lack to be honest?

... I just think he's silly! He's just generally (hehe, general) a lot of fun no matter what situation he is in, and he just has a really sweet and pleasant personality??? Like... he's just a guy. Everyone else has so MANY thoughts behind their eyes...

Everything about this sona (he doesn't technically have a name...) is just... really soft. He looks as sweet and soft as he actually is and he's just. really pleasant to look at????

I kind of just want to give him a kiss on the cheek he's so pretty. aaaaaaa.

He's always got this soft, almost dream-like expression that you just don't get with most sonas. Like, it isn't JUST tae sonas, no it's ALL of my sonas.

I don't know what it is, I can't really explain it without getting into the lore and the aus and his secondary variant and this post is already super long so you'll just have to take him as IS.

How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? when i first started playing the sims, i was obsessed with making the "perfect" sims with "perfect" lives and would aaalways cheat away negative moodlets or never give them "negative" traits ykwim? but now i just go with the flow at whatever the game throws at me lol it's much fun that way :D also it helps to not stress about the things in game too much, it takes the fun out of it :p
