The Necrons Play Amogus
We only had Zultanekh and Lysikor this time, but some highlights include:
Zultanekh getting two concubines IMMEDIATELY, like the chad he is
"I assure you, Zultanekh is not a role. He is the entire damned stage play. Or perhaps an opera, with how loud he is."
"Zultanekh swears on his honor that he is not a sussy"
"Jesus died for your sins!" "Then I should be committing many, many more to make up for the loss."
Lysikor getting up to get a drink and LITERALLY getting murdered for it (this is why we keep the baja blast in the dimensional oubliette)
Lysikor getting imposter once and immediately fucking it up in front of active security cameras
Zultanekh talking shit about the previous two bullet points and Lysikor purposefully voting him into the lava
"He is as docile as a pet scarab!" "I advise you to sleep with one eye open, you most disagreeable motherfucker."
Lysikor getting engineer enough times to make a game of venting in front of Zultanekh
"Lysikor, I know you are a noble, but you lie like a Phaeron"
"Lysikor, do you consider backstabbing fun?"
And one that can only be shown in picture:

Alright, so I've been thinking a bit too much about the connection between schools of magic in the spiral, and more specifically where the witchdoctor magic we see in Pirate101 can fit in with the magics of Wizard101. After spending a good bit thinking about it and looking into it I think I finally have my own explanation that I can be satisfied with.
So, obviously the witchdoctor class deals with things related to death, right? It has similar spells to the death school in wizard101 as well! However, it's obviously not actually 1:1 the death school for a number of reasons. The largest overarching one is the intense focus on spirits though, which I'm going to break into two parts-
1: So to begin, magic in the spiral is differentiated based on schools of thought, and how one interacts with natural forces. The school of death in the spiral tends to split its focus between reanimation, and summoning agents of death, reflecting its focus on controlling the natural force of death. There is a clear focus on, and respect for, death as a concept. However, in witchdoctors, we see a greater focus on the dead themselves, spirits, etc. Old Scratch and Madame Vadima place a heavy emphasis on communing with the spirits, respecting the spirits, and the emotions of the spirits, taking a step away from the emphasis on death as a concept and basing the magic off of a separate school of thought and method of interaction.
2: Now, of course, the actual gameplay mechanics and combat style. I maybe went on a bit too long in section 1 and said some of the points I planned on touching upon here, so I'll keep this relatively brief. So, of course, where death's combat has you interacting with all sorts of forces of death, witchdoctor for the most part exclusively has you summoning spirits, ghosts, etc. Both have a well rounded batch of support, lifesteal, and damage. Death appears, however, to have a level of detachment from the forces it's commanding. As we see with Malistaire however, a level of distance might be all that keeps a student of death sane. Nevertheless, death students seem to have little regard for the actual soul behind what they're reanimating, and merely focus on the broad creature they're summoning. Witchdoctor spells are either summoning specific spirits, calling upon the power of spirits, or summoning a spirit as a companion, rarely seen in any wizard101 school through the minion system. The companion, though, forces a cooperation and sense of teamwork with the individual spirit (will expand on all this later in the post).
Now if you're a fan of the worldbuilding provided by Wysteria, you might be thinking similar to me when I was first looking into this dilemma. Spirit this, spirit that, clearly this is the spirit school from Pigswick Academy, right? In the Rogue's Gallery video description, it's even stated that rumors say Vadima attended Pigswick! If it's the spirit school, that would make Vadima perfect as an instructor! This theory is missing one crucial detail, however- multiple quest dialogues in Wysteria state that (despite them participating in a magic tourney) Pigswick heavily frowns upon the practice of magic, and all of its schools are theory! However, utilizing what we know about the spirit and death schools, we can come to a rough conclusion that witchdoctor is a 75/25% blend of spirit and death, respectively. Given its extreme emphasis on spirits, the nature of thought evolving, and its apparent pre-Vadima history in the spiral, we can also assume that it might have originated with an even larger emphasis on spirit, but Vadima's knowledge from the wizarding side of the spiral and Darkmoor heritage could have brought a few more touches of death.
This still doesn't feel fully correct though, and I believe small pieces are still missing. So, we have to dig even further. To begin with, why does witchdoctor have some more shadowy spells? They're few and far between, but there is certainly a touch of shadow magic on the witchdoctor school. Its presence can be lightly felt in a good chunk of spells. And while thinking on this, I actually stumbled across some tumblr posts that reminded me of this question's missing piece! Morganthe, known lover of shadow magic, was a pirate at some point! There is an incredibly large chance Morganthe's shadow magic had some sort of small but noticable influence on the pirates' magic school of witchdoctor! And now there is but one final piece I would like to note, where I will expand on the haste of wizard summoning as promised earlier.
It has been hinted at this entire time, but the world of wizards and the world of pirates is vastly different. Wizards prioritize structured duels, wizard vs wizard, generally forcing the hasty use of summons and emphasis on the wizards. Pirates, however, engage in a more freeform style of combat, casting aside the idea of duels unless deemed necessary or fun, and generally opting to win by whatever means necessary, with a crew to back them up. The world of pirates is filled with outlaws and rule benders, and the skyways are filled with thoughts, personalities, and ideals rarely encountered in a wizard's typical interaction with the spiral. Witchdoctor primarily being used by magicians in the world of pirates most likely slowly added the loose and morally grey nature of piracy into its practice, further separating it into a school of its own. Why witchdoctor became the most popular magic among pirates is anybody's guess, but I at least view the death vs spirit choice like this- Pirate101 is a world emphasizing the pursuit of the individual and individual's goals, as opposed to The Wizard's pursuit of saving the world and the general world of wizards focusing more on what the individual represents. Even further, pirates seem to live in a world where death is someone to be challenged, or escaped. In the world of pirates, why WOULD you choose death over spirits?
So to summarize, I have come to the conclusion that for a variety of reasons, pirate101's witchdoctor is a rough 75/25% blend of the schools spirit and death respectively, with sprinkles of shadow magic and piracy.

Ash!! I wanted to know about what your thoughts are on the new Yakuza game. And if you have any particular favourite scenes from the series overall? :0
Hey Merlin!
What an absolute honor it is to be asked this. This post might get long. And will have spoilers.
For starters, let's start with Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii! My thoughts are... I haven't played it. I need to play 8 first, but also, the game doesn't seem to hold my interest as much as some others.
It's a spin-off game that seems relatively silly, and I do not love Majima enough to buy a full-priced game for him. I really like him, but not $70 like him. If I find a good sale, I'll cop it. If not, I'll just watch the cutscenes. The game seems cool, but a silly spinoff game that has no f/os and has a lot of exploration doesn't seem up my alley.
However, I know I will play it and be absolutely nuts about it just like every other Yakuza.
Now... My favorite moments. Let's go game by game.
Yakuza 0
Ah, 0.. Where it all began. This game changed me. What was meant to be starting a game because my irl crush really liked it and I wanted to impress him turned into my life being changed. This game is one of my favorite Yakuza games ever.
A moment that stands out to me (other than the Kiryu Shower Scene in Chapter 2..) is Chapter 6. The whole thing. Especially the ending, which had me tearing up
Tumblr media
Beautiful.
YAKUZA 1
This game made me fall for Date! I didn't feel for him until that scene where he's drunk and falls asleep. When you click on him, he makes a sleepy whimper and I had an Oh. moment and realized I was in love with him.
I love the DILF Competition sidequest.
Tumblr media
Date should've won btw.
YAKUZA 2
idc what the fans say, I love this game. The ending of this game had me :O and the ending song is one of my most listened-to songs ever. As someone who loves Date and Kashiwagi (and Daigo), I was fed so well. Also, Kiryu was awesome in this game.
The scenes that had focus on Date were so good. I really liked this game.
Buuut, my favorite scene is that whole chapter at the Tojo HQ! Everything about it! The bickering, the scene with Daigo getting protective over his mom, the boss fight, Kashiwagi being tied up and looking bored...
It's perfect. This moment had me laughing.
Also, I love Ryuji.
YAKUZA 3
... Not my favorite game. But it gave me Mine!
I loved all his scenes. The expressions in the ending were beautiful. But also there is a whole chapter called The Plot in which the entire chapter is one long conversation where a random guy explains The Plot to you.
I'm not kidding.
Tumblr media
I..... Don't like this game as much as other people do.
Remember that crush I mentioned? Yeah, so, we ended up dating. And after we broke up, the guy said that he thinks 3 is better than 1 and 2....... And that's why I'm glad we're not dating anymore HAHAHAHA
Anyways...
YAKUZA 4
fuck you guys, I love this game. My favorite route was Tanimura. That's my fucking goat. However, it did give me Kido.
Tumblr media
I love this scene since although he says that, his S/I is arguably my nerdiest Ash S/I. She's a dork who collects plushies. Very far from a femme fetale.
Tanimura's final boss was a highlight of this game.
But also... "BALLS OUT, KIDO-CHAN!"
YAKUZA 5
... Am I gonna get flamed for saying that how I feel about this game is how I feel about 3? I hated most of it.
But Shinada's section... I was reminded that Yakuza writers know how to write.
Tumblr media
This scene........... Fuck. It leave me feeling a lot of feelings.
I also really enjoyed Haruka's section, even if I have beef with the game overall. Christina/Yamaura is my Yakuza rarepair. One day I'll write a fic about them!
YAKUZA 6
This game was alright. I have my issues with it, but I also had fun with it. It introduced JOONGI!!!! Not my boyfriend Joongi, but the Joongi who my boyfriend had plastic surgery to look like. The original. I just kiss the body double.
Tumblr media
I... liked the scene at the sexy club. The boss fight was amazing. And his theme song is fucking amazing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... And I was staring. No wonder I fell for his body double.
But also, Someya's final scene fucked me up. I think not killing you-know-who was a bad idea. She should've stayed dead. Someya is a character who is an abusive asshole, but his final scenes hit me hard. If you know, you know.
Also, Kiryu had his sleeves rolled up for most of the game. I have a love-hate relationship with this guy and he's pissed me off to the point of me wanting to drop him (ahem, yakuza 4, ahem), but he always kept pulling me back. Thank you to the power of hot forearms.
YAKUZA 7
This game. Was so fucking good. Easily one of the best Yakuza games. Felt like a breath of fresh air after 7 action games to have a turn-based RPG with a party, a job system, and most of all... GOOD WRITING!!!!
Tumblr media
I met my boyfriend Joongi. Amazing game with too many amazing moments to highlight. If you wanna play Yakuza, 7 is your motivation to keep going. Yes, it's that good.
I loved the drink links and the ending.. broke me. I'm still broken. And depressed. And I've played a whole ass other game after this. The ending was so emotional.
Tumblr media
And maybe... maybe you realize that you actually have a crush on the despicable villain after seeing what happens.
Just maybe.
(He's that secret crush I mention oh-so often)
YAKUZA 8
jokes on you, I haven't played 8 yet.
Okay!
I'm at picture limit so let's do a rapid fire speedround for the remaining games! Aka the spinoffs.
ISHIN
Ishin gave me my samurai boyfriends! I went into the game loving Ryoma, but I didn't exoect to fall for Hijikata too. Nor did I expect it to be a polyship, but hey, that's life!
My favorite moment of Ishin is when Ryoma is confronting the villain and still feels bad for him. He says something along the lines of "i hate myself for feeling bad for you, but right now I despise you even more" and that line both hit close to him and was really powerful I feel.
Ishin is... fine. It's not horrible, it's not the best, but I had fun with it. More highlights are that scene where Ryoma is naked and tied up in prison (within the first hour of the game??), Hijikata and Ryoma's bond, and the farming mechanic and pet cats and chickens and dogs. Also cooking.
JUDGMENT
Oh, Judgment... Where do I begin? I fucking love Judgment. Top 5 game for me. This game introduced me to my Sugiura, and it's a wonderful standalone murder mystery.
I liked it way better than the sequel, and it was emotional to the very end. Yagami is my favorite protagonist (even if i do feel like he wasn't written as well in the sequel..)
Everything about this game goes hard. I won't share too much plot because it's a murder mystery, but somw highlights are... When Sugiura told us his real name, when Sugiura was shot and covered in sweat, and the final boss. Shit was terrifying. It genuinely felt like fighting a serial killer.
Also, the music! I'm not gonna attach the Spotify link since last time I did that, tumblr crashed.. But my favorite theme is called Rake Your Inside! Epic boss theme.
LOST JUDGMENT
Everyone says this game is better than the first game, but I... I'm different. I didn't hate Lost Judgment, I just think Judgment was better.
That being said, there are many highlights to LJ. LIKE SKATEBOARDING!!! TWO CITIES TO EXPLORE!!!
But also, Sugiura is happier in this game. He's happy and lives a good life and has an actual job and he's been dating a girl for 3 years and wants to marry her one day. Hehe!
I also loved seeing more of the guys bickering and just dudes being bros in this game. The school stories were fun too and I didn't expect that Yagami being a counselor to highschoolers would be so fun.
I hated the villain of this game, but the combat in this game is. Amazing. The best combat out of any action Yakuza game imo. It's smooth and feels so good and. Ough. It's so peak.
GAIDEN
this game fucked me up. In the best way. No notes. I loved it. I cried like a baby.
Notable moments... Kiryu sitting on a throne. Every single Hanawa scene. Tsuruno's existence. Hanawa. Also Hanawa. The Castle as a whole. I loved how bloody and brutal and just.. disgusting this game could be. It pulled no punches.
Also Hanawa. I like Hanawa.
... And that's it!

if everything everything were to cover a dutch uncles song which would you like for it to be/do you think would make the most sense. and same vice versa. and should members cross over between bands to make this happen
look i know i say this every time but this is an EXCELLENT question. much to think about......... POINT NUMERO UNO: i really want to watch alex robertshaw play the marimba, actually, now you've put the thought in my head. truly the anti-panto pete. i want them to do threads and for jon and alex to do the marimba thing together POINT NUMERO DOS: i think jeremy could do a lot with the big balloon bass riff. sexually speaking. POINT NUMERO TRES: babymaking. my actual answer i think might be poppin' because it's funky and it's fun and also i want jez and alex to yell READ MY MUPPET LIPS real loud. bonus points if someone constructs a muppet-jon and puppeteers him from just behind jez's amp
and vice versa: duncan 'sounds like he's about to cry on 90% of true entertainment' wallis could do a Lot with in birdsong but i fear there wouldn't be enough for the rest of em to do. i'm gonna say my computer because that's one that ee Don't do live and i AM mad about it and also. i just think
also: pete sen茅 and henry broadhead as the two Background Guys of the bands swap places and nobody acknowledges it. thank you for coming to my ted talk
(i want to hear your answers to this OBVIOUSLY please i feel like you'll have thought about this a lot) (i also want to hear @qwertyfingers answers to this if he feels like it, as one of the only other Both Bands Likers)
