*MC had decided to check again the ancient texts Malleus translated, but one in particular caught their eyeâstrangely, they didnât remember reading it before.*
Your soul belongs to nowhere.
MC: ...
MC: Strange... the Dark Mirror said these same words when I first came here...
MC: ...
Grim: Hench-human! What are you still doing there?! We're gonna be late for class!
MC: !!!
MC: Y-yeah! Justâjust gimme a second!
Crowley: Ah, Prefect! I presume you've come seeking my invaluable counsel?
MC: Yes, headmage. Is it okay?
Crowley: Of course! How may I be of assistance?
MC: ...
MC: Headmage, do you still remember⌠my first day here?
Crowley: Why, yes! How could I forget? You and Grim caused quite the commotion that day!
MC: Great⌠Then do you remember what the Dark Mirror said? That my soul belongs nowhere?
Crowley: *sensing their agitation* Whatâs troubling you, Prefect? Why these questions all of a sudden?
MC: I...
MC: ...
MC: *forced a smile* Never mind, headmage. Maybe Iâve just been... thinking too much about it.
Crowley: Hm... To ease your worries, the Dark Mirror simply meant you don't belong to any dorm, as your soul doesn't align with any of the Great Seven's. This includes the fact that you possess no magic.
MC: Yes. But still...
Crowley: ...
Crowley: Prefect, you should go back to Ramshackle and rest. I'll let your teachers know you need the day off.
MC: ...
MC: *nods* Yeah. I should do that.
Ace: Huh? Where's MC?
Grim: They went back to Ramshackle. *frowns* I wanted to go back too, but Trein and Crewel said no.
Deuce: Well, you have no reason to skip.
Grim: But Hench-human wasn't even sick!
Ace: Yeah, yeah. We get you.
Deuce: We should ask them later to know what happened.
MC: *rechecks the ancient text, only to discover new words that shatter all their hopes*
Death came for youâbut your heart still beats. Your lungs still gasp. This place cradles you now, a hollow solace for what youâve lost. That yearning in your chest? The dream of home? It will never be anything more. You are trapped here.
MC: *tears begin to fallâslow, silent, inevitableâas the truth settles like a stone in their chest*
*Ace, Deuce, and Grim exchanged confused glances why MC hadn't come to open the door yet.*
Ace: Don't tell me they're asleep?
Deuce: It's still quite early for them to do that.
Grim: *pounding the door with both paws* Hey, hench-human! Open up!
Deuce: Oi, Grim!
*The door opens.*
Ace: Ha! Finally! What took you so longâ
MC: *their expression empties - not blank, but void - as the sickeningly familiar swirl of overblot begins creeping up their arms*
MC: ...
Ace: Oi... What's going on...
MC: ...
MC: I... don't know... but you have to leave... now...
Grim: Hench-human...?
MC: Grim⌠there's⌠there's nowhere for meâŚ
Deuce: This... This is getting bad!
Ace: W-We'll be back! Okay?! We'll call for help!
Deuce: Grim! Stay with the Prefect!
*Ace and Deuce went to get help.*
Grim: ...
Grim: Hench-human...
MC: ...
*Ace and Deuce hurried to the Mirror Chamber where the dorm leaders were gathered.*
Riddle: *frowns* Ace? Deuce? What are you two doing here?
Vil: You are not allowed here, spudlings. This meeting is for dorm leaders only.
Kalim: We should hear them firstâ
Ace: THE PREFECT IS OVERBLOTTING! WE NEED HELP NOW!
The dorm leaders: !!!
Malleus: What?!
Deuce: Please, Draconia-senpai! They're in pain! We must hurry!
Grim: MC...
MC: ...
MC: I'm fine, Grim... But can you do me a favor?
MC: Don't let anyone in.

gonnadrinkmytearstonight:
I waited from mid-day Thursday 12th, Till 1:30am Saturday 14th. I was so determined to meet her that I missed my last train home- which is a couple of hours away from London, I had no way of getting back as I had no more money, but I wanted this so much. So I waited and waited, and finally on Friday she came out, I saw her but was quickly pushed to the ground by the paparazzi, who didnât care and I got trampled on. I managed to get myself up and I ran to where her car was going to pass, a few minutes later it did just that, however due to all the papz running down, the car did not stop⌠and it destroyed me in some ways, i thought it was never going to happen. However, despite that i just kept on believing that it would happen. I sat on the ledge where I hoped her car would pass. I was tired and put my head in my lap for a little while. Then I saw these beaming lights from the corner of my eye, and It was the car she was in. Pete her bodyguard got out and said to me âAre you here for Gaga? I saw you earlier todayâ and I said âYes, can I please give this to her?â It was my letter and my diamond i got for her. He took me round to the car and there she was. Her beautiful smile greeted me and this is what was said from what I remember.Â
Gaga: Hello sweetie (Put her arms out to hug me, and gave me a kiss) what are you doing out so late?
Me: Iâve just wanted this moment for so long and Iâve been trying to find you for so long.. Iâve only wanted to give you these two things
Gaga: Aww, This is your moment now sweetie.
..I handed her my diamond i got for her and my letter
Gaga: Oh my, this is so beautiful. Thankyou so much.
Me: Iâm sorry itâs not a real diamond
Gaga: (smiling) Oh hunny, it is real!  âŚDo you want a picture?.. And Iâll sign your shirt..
Me: Yes please, but for me itâs not really about the picture or signature i just wanted you.
Pete took the pictureâŚ. then Gaga signed my shirt, and said âSian. I  âĽÂ you. Lady Gaga
Me: I love you so much
Gaga: I love you too, youâre so beautiful
Me: You too Gaga
Gaga: So how long have you been here for?
Me: Since Thursday. I tried so hard to meet you earlier, but i was pushed to the floor by the papz. I just wanted this so badly, and my train ticket ran out and i have no money but i just wanted this so much.
Gaga: Oh hunny
âŚGaga reached into her purse
Gaga: Take this sweetie and make sure you get home safety
Me: I love you so much but i canât take this
Gaga: No..NoâŚTake it and get home safety.
Me: Thankyou so much Gaga, you mean so much. Please never feel like youâre not good enough for us.
Gaga: (Tearing up) Youâre so sweet, Can i keep you?
(crying at this point)Â
Me: I love you so much, Thankyou for everything.
Gaga: I love you too, thankyou for making me strong..
âŚWe hugged again for what seemed like forever.Â
So so happy and emotional. It was the most wonderful moment in my life. Her kindness and love helped to keep me safe, and she really touched my heart. Nothing could ever compare to this moment. It was like a really good, good dream and i hope every little monster gets to have the same opportunity as I did. Never give up!Â
I love you Gaga!Â

all the ways i stay
paige bueckers & azzi fudd ŕ´Ż notes: it took me a while to find satisfaction with this, but iâve finally settled on it. i figured iâd jot something down quickly while i work on chapter 3 of the argent. fic. itâs still in the making, but trust me, itâll be worth the wait. in the meantime, i hope you enjoy this quick blurb i had in mind. also, i highly recommend playing the song mentioned later onâit really brings the moment to life. happy reading, lovelies.
paige never thought sheâd be sitting through a rom-com marathon with azzi, yet here they were, limbs tangled on the couch, a half-empty popcorn bowl wedged between them. the air smelled like butter and whatever candle azzi had burningâsomething warm, vanilla, a little too cozy for a night where paige had fully intended to roast every movie choice.
but azzi was taking this seriously. too seriously.
the notebook had been playing for all of five minutes, and already, azzi was watching like it was a high-stakes thriller, arms crossed, one perfectly manicured hand occasionally reaching up to twist a curl between her fingers. paige, meanwhile, was sprawled out, one socked foot nudging azziâs thigh, head tipped back against the armrest like she was suffering.
âthis is the dumbest shit iâve ever seen,â paige muttered, watching ryan gosling pull off some grand romantic gesture. âlike, imagine a guy hanging off a ferris wheel, threatening to let go unless you agree to a date. thatâs not romance, thatâs blackmail.â
âheâs being dramatic. itâs supposed to be sweet,â azzi countered, eyes still locked on the screen.
paige huffed a laugh, shifting so her shoulder knocked against azziâs. âoh, so if i dangle off a balcony and demand you take me to chipotle, thatâs sweet? good to know.â
âyou wouldnât last five seconds. your upper body strength isââ azzi let her gaze flick down to paigeâs arms, the definition obvious even under her hoodie. she cleared her throat. ânever mind.â
paige smirked. âoh no, finish that thought, princess.â
âno.â
paige, who lived for this kind of thing, propped herself up on one elbow, getting close enough that azziâs perfume curled around her senses. she smelled expensive, like warm florals and a hint of something soft, maybe honey. she should be paying attention to the movie, but instead, she was studying the way azziâs lashes brushed her cheek when she blinked, the exact shade of brown in her eyes. totally normal. not a problem at all.
âadmit it,â paige drawled. âyou just got distracted by the guns.â
âi hate you.â
âno you donât.â
âi do. i hate you so much.â but azziâs mouth twitched, and her hand, traitorous thing that it was, had found its way to paigeâs wrist, fingers pressing absentmindedly into the skin there.
paige noticed, but didnât comment. instead, she shifted again, nestling further into azziâs space like she had every right to be there. âokay, but you have to admit this movie is trash. a seven-year breakup over a letter she never got? and then she gets engaged to some other dude just for funsies?â
âitâs about fate.â
âitâs about bad communication.â
âwell, not everyoneâs an oversharer like you.â
paige grinned. âfirst of all, rude. second of all, if you ever fell in love with me and wrote me letters for a year, iâd totally read them.â
âgood to know,â azzi said dryly, but her fingers curled slightly around paigeâs wrist, like she was holding on without thinking about it.
paige caught it this time. dragged her thumb over the inside of azziâs wrist, slow, lazy. âyouâre holding my hand, princess.â
âno, iâm not.â
paige laced their fingers together, making it undeniable. âyeah, you are.â
azzi let out a long, suffering sigh, but didnât pull away. instead, she rested her head against paigeâs shoulder, like it was easier than fighting whatever this was.
âshut up and watch the movie.â
paige smirked. âyes, maâam.â
azzi groaned. âdonât call me that.â
âwhatever you say, sweetheart.â paige turned her head slightly, pressing a lingering kiss to azziâs temple. it was casual, effortless, like second nature. azziâs breath hitched, but she didnât move. didnât push paige away.
paige still thought the movie was ridiculous, but if it meant getting to sit like this, wrapped up in azziâs space, maybe rom-coms werenât so bad after all.

paige stretches out on the couch, head sinking into azziâs lap like she owns the place. which, technically, she does. wellâhalf of it, at least.
"story: five out of ten," paige announces, dragging a lazy hand through the air. "sure, it's the usual love story. boy meets girl, they fight, they make up, they cry⌠whatever."
azzi snorts, idly combing her fingers through paige's hair. "so poetic."
paige tilts her head up, grinning. "what can i say? i have a way with words."
"yeah," azzi deadpans. "like a drunk guy at karaoke."
paige gasps, pressing a hand to her chest. "wow. that was personal."
azzi hums, twisting a strand of blonde between her fingers before flicking it back into place. "well, iâd give it an eight."
paige jerks up like azzi just said something blasphemous. "eight? for that?"
"it's a classic." azzi shrugs, like that explains everything.
paige squints. "so is canned tuna, but you don't see me crying over it."
"maybe because you have the emotional depth of a teaspoon," azzi muses, lips twitching.
"okay, rude." paige flops back down, arms crossed. "also, i think weâre ignoring the real issue here. you, azzi fudd, are a rom-com crybaby."
"i am not."
paige smirks. "oh, really? then explain why you sobbed over that one scene in 10 Things I Hate About You last week?"
"because heath ledger was singing in the bleachers, and thatâs a valid reason!"
paige hums, tapping her chin. "mm. i dunno. seems a little wimpy to me."
"i'm emotionally intelligent," azzi corrects, flicking paigeâs forehead.
"mm. tomato, tomahto." paige closes her eyes, perfectly at peace, untilâ
"you know," azzi starts, voice all sweet and innocent, which immediately puts paige on edge, "when we're old, youâll be the one looking for your eye contacts only to realize youâve had glasses on this whole time."
paige's eyes snap open. "excuse me?"
"just saying." azzi grins, all dimples and mischief. "you give off that energy."
paige sits up, pretending to be offended. "i do not give off âlosing my own glasses while they're on my faceâ energy."
"you so do," azzi counters, biting back a laugh.
"i'm literally the most capable person you know."
azzi raises an eyebrow. "paige, last week you spent ten minutes looking for your phone while you were on a call."
paige squints. "âŚthat proves nothing."
"and two days ago, you left your car keys in the fridge."
paige huffs. "that was one time."
"mm-hmm." azzi pats her cheek, eyes sparkling. "sure, babe."
paige flops back down, grumbling, but as azzi goes back to running her fingers through her hair, she lets the thought settle.
growing old with azzi.
being with her through all the ridiculous, mundane, beautiful little moments life throws their way.
paige isn't sentimental. not really. but the idea sticks, burrows into her chest in a way she canât shake.
she smacks azziâs thigh, lightly. "you're annoying."
azzi just laughs, warm and soft, and yeahâpaige thinksâmaybe she wouldn't mind losing her glasses if it means azziâs the one to find them for her.

the room still smells like buttered popcorn and the faintest hint of azziâs vanilla-scented lotion. the airâs a little stuffy from them being curled up on the couch for hours, so paige cracks a window while azzi smooths out the blankets, fluffing the pillows back into place.
"teamwork makes the dream work," paige announces, dramatically tossing a handful of snack bags into the trash like sheâs steph curry sinking a three.
exceptâ
clunk. one of them bounces off the rim and lands just outside the bin.
"except when you miss." azzi deadpans.
paige squints. "i meant to do that."
"mm-hmm." azzi picks up the stray bag, dropping it in as paige gathers up the cups. she takes a final glance around, making sure everything's set for the next movie marathon.
when she's satisfied, she turns to paige, a little smirk playing at her lips. "good job, partner."
paige barely has time to process before azzi leans in, pressing a soft, fleeting kiss to her lips. itâs barely a second, but itâs enough to make paige's brain short-circuit.
"oh." paige blinks, a slow grin creeping onto her face. "so i get kisses for cleaning? noted."
"don't push it." azzi nudges her toward the kitchen, but thereâs no real bite to it.
paige busies herself grabbing the cupcake cups while azzi starts setting out ingredients. she fills a few with nutsâstrictly for herself, since azzi's allergic and sheâd rather not spend the night in the er. then she loads up the rest with fruit, especially kiwi, because azzi swears it tastes like happiness. she adds pineapple and strawberries too, then tosses in some dark chocolate and a generous amount of gummy bears.
azzi watches, arms crossed, eyebrow raised. "so⌠youâre just making a personal charcuterie board of sweets?"
paige shrugs. "some of us like variety."
azzi snorts. "some of us just like sugar."
"pot, meet kettle." paige gestures at the chocolate chips azziâs been sneakily snacking on.
azzi flicks a marshmallow at her, and paige, never one to back down from a challenge, pops it into her mouth midair with a smug look.
"show-off," azzi mutters, but her lips twitch like sheâs trying not to laugh.
they settle into a rhythm, prepping ingredients for the ultimate snack session. paige, of course, insists on making sâmores, because whatâs a cozy night without them?
azzi leans against the counter, watching paige work, arms brushing every so often. the night is easy, familiar, filled with little moments like thisâbickering over snacks, stolen kisses, the kind of comfortable chaos that only comes with knowing someone like the back of your hand.
and honestly? paige wouldnât trade it for anything.

azzi pads over to the kitchen, where stewie is curled up in his usual spot, breathing slow and steady. he looks peaceful, like he doesnât have a single thought in that fluffy little head of his.
she crouches down, rubbing his ears, voice soft. "heâs literally perfect."
"mhmm." paige barely glances up, focused on skewering a marshmallow.
"paige, look at him," azzi insists.
paige, still hunched over the stove, murmurs, "kinda busy making sâmoresess right now."
azzi squints. "sâmoresess?"
"shhh." paige waves a hand, half-heartedly. "itâs a process."
azzi shakes her head, muttering something about her girlfriend being a lost cause, and moves behind paige, arms slipping around her waist, chin resting on her shoulder.
paige stiffens slightly but doesnât stop what sheâs doingâat least, not until azzi exhales slow and warm against the shell of her ear.
paigeâs brain? fried.
her grip on the skewer slips, and the marshmallow nearly meets a fiery demise.
"azzi." her voice comes out a little strangled.
"what?" azzi hums, feigning innocence as she straightens up, leaving paige standing there like a malfunctioning robot.
"youâ" paige exhales sharply through her nose. "you almost made me burn the sâmore."
"tragedy," azzi deadpans, already moving toward the kettle.
paige glares, but itâs weak at best. instead, she focuses on plating everything while azzi makes herself a cup of tea and grabs some coconut water.
the dorm is spotless, the only sound the occasional clink of dishes and the low hum of the kettle. the candles caroline gifted azzi flicker gently, their scentsâvanilla and lavenderâmixing in the air, making the whole space feel warm, intimate.
itâs just them. no distractions.
azzi leans against the counter, stirring her tea, watching paige with something unreadable in her eyes.
paige, finally done, turns to face her, a cocky little grin playing at her lips. "so, did you come over here just to sabotage my sâmores, orâŚ?"
azzi takes a slow sip of her tea, gaze steady. "maybe."
paige squints. "thatâs evil."
"you love it."
paige sighs, defeated, but she canât hide the way her smile softens just a little.

azzi kneels beside stewie, fingers ghosting over his soft fur, careful not to wake him. his little chest rises and falls in the slow rhythm of deep sleep, curled up on his uconn-themed dog bedâmatching blanket and all. of course azzi had to go all out. paige swears this dog has more school spirit than half the team.
paige finishes up in the kitchen, setting the last plate down before making her way over, dropping onto the floor beside azzi. but while azziâs watching stewie, paige is watching her.
azzi looks peaceful, more than she has in weeks. this semester drained the hell out of herâpaige saw it firsthand, the late nights, the stress, the way azzi pushed herself through it all. and yet, right now, in this tiny little moment, sheâs soft, calm, just existing.
paige leans back on her palms, studying her, a quiet sort of pride settling in her chest. thatâs her girl. the girl she had all her firsts with.
and tonight? well, sheâs about to have another first with her.
azzi really should stop making paige feel like her heart's a metronomeâthis can't be normal.
paigeâs thoughts swirl for a second as she watches azzi, completely unaware of the storm brewing in paigeâs head. âif Azzi asked me to climb a mountain right now, i'd probably do it just to see her smile. how much do I need to pay for her to stop being this cute?â
âthis is why Iâm not allowed near dogs,â paige thinks, watching stewie snooze. "one pet and suddenly I'm invested in a team of athletes who can't even talk."
azzi shifts, catching paigeâs gaze. thereâs that smile againâthe kind that makes paige feel like the world stops for just a second. âNot that I mind,â she thinks, "but damn, this girl has me wrapped around her finger."
and honestly? paige is okay with it.

theyâre talking about nothing and everything all at once, voices low, lazy, like the world outside doesnât exist. sitting cross-legged on the floor, the snacks long forgotten, azziâs hand moves in slow circles over stewieâs ear, careful not to wake him.
paige, propped up on one elbow, watches her with that lookâsoft, amused, completely gone. azzi catches it, and for a second, wonders if she needs to take notes because damn, paige's stare is next level.
azzi meets her gaze, smiles, something quiet passing between them.
paige leans in first, and azzi follows, her free hand slipping to paigeâs side, fingers pressing just enough to ground them both. she smiles into the kiss before it deepens, slow and sure, like every time they kiss, it means something more. because it does. because it always does.
when they pull back, paige, still close enough that azzi can feel her breath, grins.
âhey az,â she murmurs, voice teasing. âremember that night a few years back when we slow danced on the porch and i stepped on your feet like⌠fifteen times?â
"of course i do, paige," azzi says, voice soft but sure. "that memoryâs engraved in my brain."
she remembers everythingâthe exact date, the thick warmth of summer, the way the night unfolded like a scene straight out of one of her movies. âAnd honestly? The embarrassing foot stomping was just part of the charm,â she thinks. the way it led them here, to something that feels eerily similar to whatâs about to unravel.
paige raises a brow. "woah, was i really that bad?"
azzi grins, playing with paigeâs fingers absentmindedly. "kind of."
paige groans, leaning her head back dramatically. "well, i was nervous, okay? i was dancing with the girl of my dreams."
azzi snorts. "oh yeah?"
"yeah," paige says, eyes locked on hers now. "you were wearing your momâs pearls that day. that dress i thought was pretty on you, thoughâletâs be realâall of them were. swear, you could wear a trash bag and iâd still go crazy." she shrugs, lips twitching. "doesnât even matter what you wear. you are your outfit. if that makes sense."
azzi flushes, her smile growing. she tugs paige closer by her hoodie, pressing their lips together. paige grins into it, hands finding azziâs waist as the kiss deepens.
when they break apart, azzi hums, eyes playful. "i think the romance movies really got to you, huh?"
paige scoffs. "hey, iâm not the one who wants to watch them."
"thatâs true."
"but i wasnât finished with my little speech, actually," paige adds, tilting her head.
azzi rolls her eyes, but sheâs grinning. "oh? go on, then."
paige squeezes her fingers, something shifting in her expressionâsomething softer, something certain. "wanna dance?"
azziâs face lights up instantly. "right here? right now?"
paige nods. "right here. right now."
âOh god, weâre doing this,â azzi thinks, trying not to grin like an absolute fool.
without hesitation, azzi takes her hand. paige, playing the gentleman, offers it with a dramatic flair, one hand behind her back like sheâs in some old-timey movie. âOh yeah, Iâm totally swooning now,â azzi thinks, trying to keep her cool. azzi laughs, but she takes it.
they step into the open space in the kitchen, the only sound the faint hum of the fridge. the soft glow of candlelight flickers against the walls, filling the room with something unspoken. something warm. something that feels like them.

as they settle in, azzi tilts her head. "are we doing a silent slow dance, paige?"
paige blinks. "my bad." she pulls out her phone, scrolling for a second before pressing play. the soft, melancholic notes of my love mine all mine by mitski fill the air.
azzi raises a brow. "since when do you know this song?"
paige smirks. "since sarah put me on."
azzi laughs, shaking her head. as the first seconds of the song settle over them, paigeâwhoâs just a little tallerâtakes azziâs hands. azzi sighs, already knowing how this is going to go. "please donât step on my feet."
paige grins. "canât promise that."
azzi smiles, and they fall into place like they always do. her head finds paigeâs shoulder, her hands finding her waist, and paige isn't forcing a thing. they just fit. like they were made to be here, in this moment, like this.
the song is calm, and so are they, just swaying together. the stillness, the trust, the years of knowing each otherâit all settles between them like a quiet understanding. azzi closes her eyes, memorizing every movement, the way their breaths sync, the way their heartbeats seem to fall into rhythm.
paige looks down at her, eyes soft, full of something deeper than words. she presses a gentle kiss to azziâs head and whispers, "i love you more than youâll ever know."
azzi lifts her gaze, the candlelight flickering in her eyes. "i love you more than i ever thought i could love anybody."
paige swallows. their bodies are so close, and as the second verse starts, azzi wraps her arms around paigeâs neck, resting her chin on her shoulder. her curls brush against paigeâs face, tickling her cheek.
"you can put your feet on mine," paige murmurs. "iâll lift you with ease."
azzi snorts. "youâre ridiculous."
"and yet, here you are, playing into it," paige teases.
but azzi does it, stepping onto paigeâs feet, letting her take the lead. itâs ridiculous, yeah, but itâs them.
paige smiles, eyes slipping shut, and this time, azziâs the one watching her. with nothing but love.
she presses a soft kiss to paigeâs cheek, and paigeâs lips curl into that cocky smileâthe one that always makes azzi feel something she can't quite name.
the way paigeâs whole face lights up just from being near her⌠thatâs the kind of love scientists should be writing articles about.

as the song fades out, azziâs fingers trace lazy circles on paigeâs back. they havenât moved, still molded into each other, warm from the dance, from the love they just shared. they were always meant for this moment.
"can we just stay like this forever?" azzi murmurs.
paige chuckles, looking down at her, at the soft smile on azziâs face. "and whoâs gonna break ankles if we do?"
"kamorea can handle that," azzi says, completely serious.
paige laughs, shaking her head. as azzi pulls her hands back, she really looks at paige. paige is holding her hands now, thumb brushing over her skin, absentmindedly tracing small circlesâno, actually tracing azziâs name on the back of her hand.
azzi bites her lip. "gotta say, you improved. you didnât step on my foot once."
paige nods, all cocky. what azzi doesnât know is that paige spent her free time watching dance tutorials. even asked timâazziâs fatherâfor tips.
"thank you," paige smirks. "iâm a natural."
azzi scoffs. "sure."
"should we go back to the movies?" azzi asks.
paige stretches. "yeah, just gimme a sec. gotta use the bathroom."
"okay." azzi leans in, pressing a quick kiss to paigeâs cheek before heading back to the room.
but paige doesnât go to the bathroom. instead, she crouches by stewieâs bed, quietly filling his bowl with water, making sure heâs set for the night. she grabs a few dog treats and places them beside him, scratching behind his ear as she whispersâ(keep in mind, itâs a dog):
"iâm gonna marry that pretty girl someday. i know youâre her #1, but iâm never gonna stop loving her."
stewie snores in response. paige grins, giving him one last pat before heading back.
when she walks in, azziâs already curled up, waiting for her with a look of love and safety. paige jumps into bed, and azzi immediately rests her head on paigeâs chest.
"letâs do frozen again," azzi mumbles.
paige laughs, pressing a kiss to azziâs head. "iâm covering your eyes when olaf loses his head."
azzi gasps and smacks paigeâs leg. "rude."
as the movie starts playing, the soft glow of the screen flickering against their faces, azzi reaches for a sâmore, breaking off a piece for paige. she turns to her, eyes warm, lips curled into a soft smile.
âopen,â she says, holding it up.
paige laughs, tilting her head back slightly, and obliges. azzi stuffs the piece in her mouth, giggling as paige tries to chew through the marshmallow, cracker, and chocolate all at once.
âi love you,â azzi murmurs, almost absentmindedly, like itâs the most natural thing in the world. because it is.
paige, still chewing, looks at her with the kind of softness that makes azziâs heart ache in the best way. she swallows, then leans in, brushing her nose against azziâs.
âiâm right here,â paige whispers, voice thick with certainty, ânot going anywhere. always gonna take care of you.â
azzi blinks, the words settling deep in her chest, something warm and overwhelming blooming inside her. she presses closer, burying herself into paigeâs arms, where everything feels right.

Match My Freak
Sheâs been my roommate for over three months now and Iâm nearing the end of my patience. Everything about her drives me insane, from the smell of her shampoo permeating through the bathroom after her long showers to the way she prances around the living room and kitchen wearing her tiny little pajamas. Iâve learned every single detail about her since she moved in and every day I fall in love with her a little more but she has no idea. Sheâs been etched into every atom of my soul and I need her to be mine.
Sheâd moved into my place after responding to an ad Iâd placed about needing a roommate. She told me sheâd broken up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared apartment so it never felt right for me to make a move. I didnât want her to treat me like a rebound, not when I have every intention of making her mine forever. But, last week, sheâd put on a fucking red dress and heels fully done up to go on a date with some loser. I almost lost my mind when I saw her on her way out the door. How dare she go spend time with some loser guy when Iâm right here for her?
That night, while I waited up all night for her to come home (she didnât and I almost left the house to hunt her down and drag her back here), I made up my mind. If she canât see whatâs right in front of her, Iâll make her see. Iâll force her to. Plus, she deserves a punishment for whoring herself out to some random guy and I plan to teach her a hard-earned lesson.
It wasnât very difficult to get my hands on what I needed, the internet really does provide all. A few searches, a couple hundred dollars, and a weekâs wait for expedited shipping later, I was equipped with a fast-acting roofie and a powerful aphrodisiac, both of which dissolved nicely and undetectably into any beverage of choice.
Itâs Friday night now and Iâm jittery with a combination of nerves, excitement, and a feeling of finality. Iâm finally getting a taste of what I want. Sheâll wake up the next morning, maybe a little sore and tired but none the wiser of the events of tonight. And once I clear my head a little, Iâll figure out a long term plan to make her mine forever.
Really, Iâm doing her a favor. I could be rough, be violent, hold a knife to her throat and force her to take my cock. Make her cry and scream and traumatize her to really punish her. But no, Iâm too good to her to put her through that. Instead, she gets the easy way out, the nice drugs that make her pliant, relaxed, and needy. She gets to wake up the next morning and still feel safe around me, because she is. And eventually, sheâll learn to love me.
Sheâs curled up on the couch when I come out of my room, dressed in another one of her tiny pajama sets, her eyes leaving her Kindle to meet mine before she shoots me a beautiful smile. âHey you! Whereâve you been? I feel like Iâve hardly seen you all week?â
I flash her a grin, âBeen busy with work, I took on a new project and thereâs been a lot of prep work involved.â
She nods, âWell I hope it goes well, I canât imagine it not, you seem really good at your job!â If only she knew.
I smile at her before heading into the kitchen, calling out behind me, âYou want something to drink?â
âYes please! Can you grab me a can of seltzer, please?â
My smile widens when I hear that and I grab a can of her favorite flavor from the fridge before cracking it open and pouring the fizzy water into a cup. Both drugs dissolve immediately into the drink and I smirk before grabbing a can for myself.
I step back into the living room and settle onto the other side of the couch, handing over her drink. She smiles in thanks before taking a long sip. I hide my smile behind a drink of my own.
âWhatcha up to?â I ask, nodding towards her Kindle.
She shrugs, tossing her hair over her shoulder, the smell of her shampoo wafting into my face. My fist clenches. Fuck, she smells so good. âIâm just reading, nothing exciting,â she says. âWhat about you? Any fun plans tonight?â
I canât hold back the smirk that lights up my face, âNah, just spending a night in.â
She takes another sip of her drink and blinks her eyes tiredly. âMhm, that sounds nice, getting to bed early sounds like a good plan.â
I nod, eyes fixed on her drink as she takes another swallow. My heart is beating hard in my chest as I try to restrain myself from showing my dark excitement for where tonight is headed.
I watch as she sets her Kindle down on the coffee table and rubs her eyes. âI think Iâm going to head into my roomâŚâ her voice is softer now, slower as the drugs start to take effect. I nod at her drink, âYou should finish that before you head in.â
She nods a little and drinks the last little bit, setting her cup onto the table and moving to stand. She barely manages to get herself up before she stumbles and her knees buckle, her body folding like a puppet.
Iâm ready for her and I pull her into my lap, making sure she doesnât hurt herself.
âHey, hey, whatâs wrong, you okay?â My voice betrays my excitement but sheâs too far gone to notice. Her body melts into mine as she lets out a soft whine, âMm really tired⌠and everything feels so hotâŚâ
She leans her head against my shoulder and I let out a groan, the feeling of her soft body in my lap is almost enough to make me lose control. I laugh incredulously, âFuck, those drugs really do work fast.â
I tap her cheek gently and look into her dazed eyes, âHey. Hey, focus on me. You still with me?â
Her eyes blink slowly at me but sheâs too delirious to respond. Iâm so fucking hard now, the reality of whatâs going to happen fully hitting me. I cup her cheek and lean my forehead against hers, groaning with desire.
âYouâre all mine now, huh? Drugged out of your mind and completely vulnerable. You look so pretty like this, not a single thought in that gorgeous head of yours, isnât that right?â
My lips meet hers and I moan into her mouth as I claim our first kiss. First of many. Sheâs soft and pliant underneath me, her lips clumsily moving against mine. I run my hand through her soft hair as my lips work feverishly against hers. My breath comes out in harsh pants when I finally pull away, the taste of her lips making my head spin.
âFuck, youâre so perfect like this. So obedient, so good for me. Not like last week, when you whored yourself out to some fucking guy, huh?â My voice turns mean as I recall the red hot fury that governed my every thought the night she went out. My hands get rougher as I move her around in my lap, pulling her back to my chest and spreading her legs so they splayed open for me.
âIf youâd just been a good girl, tonight wouldnât have needed to happen like this. But no, you betrayed me. You went and fucked some other guy and now I need to cleanse him from you before I can make you mine. Because thatâs what you are, my perfect girl, isnât that right?â
Her eyes have fluttered shut now but it doesnât matter to me because when my hand trails down her stomach to her clothed pussy, I can feel the burning heat. The aphrodisiacâs doing its job too.
I chuckle and grab a fistful of her pathetically tiny shorts and jerk them hard off her legs. She lets out a soft whimper from my harsh treatment and I coo softly at her, âItâs okay, darling, this is what you want.â
My fingers press against her bare cunt and sheâs soaked.
âFuck, youâre fucking dripping. Look at you, drugged out of your mind and this pretty pussy is weeping for me.â
I run my fingers gently across her pulsing clit and her legs twitch, a soft whine escaping from her lips. I start to rub her sensitive little clit in circles, spreading her own wetness all over her pussy.
âSo messy for me, huh? I know you like this, I can feel your cunt pulsing. Only I can make you feel this way, youâll learn that soon.â
Sheâs letting out little desperate whimpers and a glance at her face tells me sheâs so out of it that I have nothing to worry about. I slide a finger into her pussy and groan at how tight she is.
âFuck, your pretty pussy feels so good wrapped around my finger. God, youâre so nasty, getting all drugged up and turning into a little mindless toy. Youâre leaking all over my lap and Iâve barely done anything. What a filthy little whore.â
I thrust my fingers into her and curl them upwards, letting my thumb keep rubbing her little clit. I almost wish she were more lucid so she could hear all the dirty things Iâm telling her.
âFuck, I can tell youâre close, huh? You gonna cum for me, all drugged up and making a mess all over my fingers?â
Her soft whimpers have turned into louder moans and I can tell by her little hip thrusts that sheâs close. My fingers donât stop and I feel her shudder in my arms, a soft mewling cry erupting from her as she cums for me. I groan softly and work her through her orgasm, my fingers rubbing mercilessly against her little clit as she trembles.
âThatâs it, baby, feel good for me. Iâm the only one who can make you feel like this, isnât that right? Youâre fucking mine.â I pull my fingers away from her and taste her wetness, moaning at how good she is.
I scoop her up and carry her into my room, laying her gently down on my bed, her head lolling in her drugged state of semi-consciousness. I brush her hair away from her pretty face, admiring her.
âI love you, pretty girl, do you know that? I love you so much and Iâll prove that to you. You wonât remember any of this tomorrow, but I promise youâll never doubt how much I love you for the rest of our lives.â
I crawl over her, pining her body down onto the bed with my own, my hands running everywhere over her body. I trail soft kisses over her skin, licking gently down her neck and into the valley of her pretty, pretty tits. Her nipples are so hard and a gentle flick from my fingers makes her let out a soft, sleepy whine.
I draw a hard peak into my mouth and let my tongue play with her sensitive flesh, scrapping my teeth gently against her. Another whimper from her. I want nothing more than to leave love bites and marks all over her skin, proving that she belongs to me for anyone to see but I control myself. Leaving marks would mean leaving evidence and I canât have that, not yet.
I spend another few moments gently playing with her sensitive tits before I get too impatient to wait any longer. My cock has been straining against my sweatpants since I saw her take her first sip of her drugged drink and I canât hold back anymore. I make quick work of my own clothes before I finally press my naked body against hers, every single bit of her form fitting perfectly against mine, like we were made for each other.
Her pretty cunt is still weeping, making a mess all over my bed. âI wish you were awake for this so you could see how fucking perfect we are for each other. But itâs okay, your mind might not remember this but your body well. Your body will know it belongs to me.â I groan as I swipe a finger through her wetness, making sure to nudge her little clit, savoring the hitch in her breathing that follows.
I smirk as I grip my throbbing cock and run the head gently across her dripping folds, moaning at the feel of her. âFuck, such a desperate little cunt for me. You like this, huh? Like the feeling of my cock rubbing your cunt? Fuck, youâre so good like this.â
I slowly start to press into her, the tight, wet heat of her pussy making my head spin from pleasure. She lets out tiny little moans as I bottom out inside of her, her cunt clenching around me so tightly I wouldâve thought she was awake if I didnât know better.
âFuck, thatâs right. I own this pussy, this tight fucking cunt gripping my cock. Fuck, youâre all mine.â Iâm panting as I start to thrust into her, every single movement making her limp body jerk.
Sheâs so good for me, so obedient as I take exactly what I want from her. Her eyes are still shut but the sounds she makes while unconscious are almost enough to make me worry sheâs actually awake. I thrust deep and she lets out a delicious little whine.
âFuck yes, youâre so sensitive like this, huh? The drugs making you so needy for me and my cock. Is that little clitty feeling neglected?â I groan as my fingers rub harshly against her clit, the movement making her cunt tighten even further around me. It doesnât take long before I hear her little whimpers escalate and her hips jerk. Her soft, relaxed body is driving me insane and I start to loose my rhythm as she milks me.
âYou getting close again, love? All drugged up, stuffed full, and about to cum again for me? There you go, you like that huh? I know you canât answer me but your body tells me enough.â I rub her clit faster and shudder when I feel her orgasm hit her hard. Her pussy milks me hard and it pushes me over the edge.
I fuck her through both our orgasms and I collapse onto the bed next to her, taking care not to crush her underneath me. My heart is pounding as the pleasure ebbs out of my body, leaving me satiated and content. I pull her into my arms and press my lips to her temple, my eyes taking in her flushed face, closed eyes, and trembling body. My pretty girl is all tired out from tonightâs activities.
âYou did so good, love. Iâm so fucking good to you, arenât I? I made sure youâd enjoy this, made sure you would cum over and over again. I treated you so well, I didnât leave a single bruise on your soft skin. You should be so grateful, baby. I made sure to be gentle, to be so good to you. Made sure to buy you the good drugs so you wake up tomorrow nice and easy. You wonât remember any of this but itâs okay. Iâll remember and Iâll know that our first time together was perfect.â
I press my lips to her skin again and pull her tighter into my grasp, my own eyes closing as I drift off to sleep with her.
I wake up several hours later, her body still tucked into my own, her soft breaths tickling my skin. I take in the vision of her curled up in my bed and it almost makes me want to fuck her again. But I canât, her drugs are going to wear off soon and I need to make sure she opens her eyes in her own room, dressed in her pajamas so she has no clue what happened.
I groan softly as I extricate myself from the bed, my body already missing hers. Itâs easy enough to redress her in her pajamas and carry her into her room. I tuck her into bed and press a soft kiss to her forehead before heading out of her bedroom.
Iâm too restless to go back to sleep so I throw on a pair of sweatpants and go to sit out in the living room, replaying the events of last night in my head. As time passes, thereâs a sinking feeling of dread building in my stomach. What if the drugs didnât work as expected and she wakes up remembering everything that happened? If that happens, everything falls apart. Iâm wracking my brain to come up with a contingency plan and wanting to punch myself for not thinking this through earlier when I hear the door of her bedroom open.
My eyes immediately find hers and part of my relaxes when I see no anger, fear, or revulsion in her face. Just sleepiness and a look of contentment.
âHey, howâd you sleep?â My voice sounds thick and croaky and I cough awkwardly to cover it up. She smiles at me and walks in my direction.
âGood, really good.â
She comes to the couch and settles next to me. Closer than normal. A lot closer, sheâs basically pressed right up against me. I blink at her.
She smirks and her hand comes to rest against my chest. My bare chest. My breath stutters and I look at her with wide eyes. âWhat- what are you doing?â
She giggles, âWhat? You spend all night doing unspeakable things to me and now a little hand on your chest has you freaking out?â
My mind short-circuits as my stomach drops. âWhat?â My voice comes out in a croak and panic seizes my entire body.
I hear her laugh again but everything feels like a haze. I watch, frozen, as she tucks herself against me and leans into my chest.
I clear my throat and stutter a little when I speak again, âWhat- what do you think happened last night?â
She smiles at me. âYou mean before or after you drugged me?â
Fuck, Iâm screwed. I fucked up. Itâs over. My heart is pounding as I struggle to process whatâs happening. âWhat?â If I had higher brain capacity right now, Iâd be desperately coming up with some excuse but nothing comes to mind. She laughs again and cups my cheek in one hand.
âStop freaking out, you didnât do anything that I didnât already want,â her voice punches through the confusion in my head and I stare at her.
âWhat?â That seems to be my favorite word right now.
She pats my cheek. âOkay, fine, Iâll explain, Iâm done messing with you. Iâve been into you since I moved in. And I know youâve been into me too. Itâs really hard to miss all the signs, youâre always doing little things for me, buying me the snacks I like, making excuses to spend weekends together, staring at me when you think Iâm not paying attention.â
I blush a little at that, I guess I havenât been subtle.
âI kept waiting for you to do something about it but you never did. So I âwent on a dateâ last week to try to provoke something out of you.â I blink dumbly at her air quotes.
âWhat? It wasnât a real date?â Thereâs so much for my brain to work through right now and I canât focus properly because she keeps stroking my chest.
She laughs and rolls her eyes good-naturedly, âNo, it wasnât a real date, I got dressed up and went to a friendâs place to stay over to make you jealous so youâd do something. And you did. Only I thought youâd ask me out finally, not concoct this insane plan of yours.â
I blink slowly at her, she continues, seeing that Iâm incapable of stringing together coherent words right now.
âYou left your laptop out last week and I saw the shipping confirmation of the drugs in your email. It wasnât hard to put together what you intended to do. I didnât think you had it in you,â she teased. Iâm still dumbfounded.
âIt wasnât that hard to get to the packages before you when they came in,â she shrugs. âThe roofie I swapped for a sugar pill but I kept the aphrodisiac intact because it sounded fun. And when you drugged me last night, I just pretended that the roofie worked. Honestly, it was so much harder than I thought it would be to stay still through everything but so fucking worth it.â She smiles at me before kissing my cheek.
My mind is racing as I put all the pieces together and all the panic and fear from earlier is replaced with awe. I let out a choked, incredulous laugh. âWhat the fuck? Youâre fucking crazy,â my voice is reverential as I grab her and pull her onto my lap. My lips find hers and I feel her melt into the kiss, every single fiber of my being relaxing with her.
I pull away and look into her eyes, âI love you, youâre perfect.â
She smiles, âI love you too.â She winks at me, âI can match your freak.â

I ended up with Steven Johnson syndrome which basically causes 3rd degree burns from the inside out, causing your skin to fall off. Long story. and once I was finally out of the hospital went in for an eye appointment (as SJS effects your eyes among other things) and I'll never forget when the eye doctor walk in she took one look at me and said "Jesus what the hell happened to you?"
Honestly it was so refreshing to have an honest reaction because yeah half my skin fell off and I was in the process of still healing. I w covered I red angry scars and scabs. I laughed so hard. Absolutely loved it. Once I told her why I was there she was like oh! Yeah. Good you know to be here.
Doctor: What do you see in this X-ray?
Students: *collective gasp*
Doctor: Please donât do that in front of patients.

shared lust .
jujuwatkins x reader x paigebueckers.
your close friend, who labeled you as their "plaything" , having a chance to bring you over to their dorm, passing you like a blunt, fucking you senselessly over and over till you break. threesome. paige nd juju literally arguing while fucking you. jealousy. they r basically taking their anger out of you while they fought over u. overstimulation
It started as a casual night, youâd been close with paige and juju for a while, maybe too close, the kind of friends who flirt just a little too long, whose touches linger, whose eyes say everything their mouths dont.
they were both bold, confident, a little chaotic, and dangerously in sync, youâd always noticed the way juju looked at you, like she wanted to ruin you and paige? paige had that smirk that promised sheâd help.
when they invited you over to their dorm, you thought it was just to hang out, netflix, some drinks, maybe gossip, but the second the door closed behind you, the atmosphere shifted.
âbeen waiting to get you aloneâ juju muttered, voice low, fingers brushing your jaw as she backed you into the couch.
paige stood behind you, hands sliding along your waist âyou have no idea what you done, coming here like that.â her voice was velvet and steel, calm but charged.
before you could speak, juju was already pulling your shirt over your head, mouth crashing into yours, hungry, demanding, paige grabbed your wrists, pinning them above your head with one hand while the other roamed your skin like it was hers to claim.
they passed you between them like they rehearsed it, juju bit your shoulder as paiges nails scraped down your thighs.
when paige took her time between your legs, juju held your face, forcing you to watch every move, her skillful tounge swirling on your clit teeth grazing, her eyes fully focused up on you.
and when juju pushed you to the edge again, having her knuckles deep inside you relentlessly slamming her fingers, paige whispered in your ear how ruined you looked.
âyour ours tonightâ paige said, voice rough, lips brushing your temple "all nightâ juju echoed, gripping your hips âtill you forget your own name.â and they kept their word, over and over, you were devoured, worshipped, dominated, no room for thought, only sensation, only their hands, their voices, their control.
they didnt stop until you were trembling, your throat raw from begging and moaning, your body wrecked in the best way, marked by both of them.
time blurred, hours passed like minutes, your body caught between paiges rough confidence and jujus desperate hunger, every touch from them was deliberate.
at some point, you were straddling jujus lap, her one hand gripping your ass as she rocked, and bounce you up, two fingers deep inside you,her eyes wild and locked on yours.
âyou dont know what you do to meâ she panted, voice almost trembling "you have no idea.â before you could respond, paiges hands were threading into your hair, tugging your head back until your throat was exposed, she leaned in from behind, licking a slow stripe up your neck.
âdont go catching feelings, jujuâ paige murmured darkly âwe said we share her, not fall for her." juju stiffened beneath you, but didnt let go âmaybe i already haveâ she said quietly.
you moaned loud whimpering when juju smacked your hips so hard it stinged, and paiges grip on your hair tightened just slightly.
the room shifted again, paige tugged you off juju and spun you around, her mouth claiming yours in a kiss that was all dominance and frustration her tongue was commanding, her hands pinning you down on the bed with a strength that made your head spin.
âyour mine tonightâ she growled âours" juju muttured glaring at paige, paige was much more rougher than earlier, biting your nipples, slamming her fingers inside you much deeper and faster.
juju stood at the edge of the bed, watching, chest rising and falling, eyes dark with jealousy, and something deeper, when paige finally let up, juju pulled you into her arms like you were breakable, her lips kissing your forehead like a lover, not a plaything.
âyou feel it too, dont you?â she whispered âtell me you do.â you didnt speak, your body was too wrecked, your heart too confused, but your fingers curled into her shirt, and your eyes wouldnt leave hers, paige sat back, watching both of you.
the room was quiet now, heavy with the smell of sex, sweat, skin, you lay there between them, your legs trembling, lips swollen, body marked with bites and bruises that would stay for days, one of paiges hickeys was already darkening just above your collarbone, jujus nail marks crisscrossed your thighs like a map.
they hadnt stopped touching you, even in the quiet, juju traced lazy circles on your stomach, her gaze locked on your face like she couldnt look away, paige had one hand tangled in your hair, running her fingers through it absently, but there was tension in her jaw.
you felt it coming before she even spoke "so" paige muttered âwhat are we doing?â juju stiffened âwhat do you mean?â
âyour acting like shes your girlfriend.â
âand your acting like your not catching feelings at all.â you tried to sit up, but paiges hand on your shoulder kept you down, gently, but firm.
âdontâ she said, eyes on paige. âlet her speak.â
you looked between them, heart racing for a whole different reason now âi didnt come here to get in the middle of somethingâ you said slowly, voice hoarse âi thought this was just⌠fun.â jujus eyes softened, but paiges got colder.
âis that what it is for you?â paige asked âjust fun?â you didnt answer, couldnt, not when your body still ached for both of them, not when part of you wanted to curl into jujus arms and the other wanted to let paige take you apart all over again.
juju leaned in, brushing her lips against your ear
âi want youâ she whispered ânot just tonight not just to fuck. I want you.â that cracked something in you, your breath hitched, paige sat up, like she couldnt sit still with everything rising up inside her âi wont fucking share her, you said this is a one time thing and your giving her to meâ she growled
the way they argued was too overwhelming, voices starting to raise, so you stood up to make them calm down "i..i gotta go.." paiges hand slid from your cheek down to your throat, gentle but firm, her thumb traced over your pulse "your not going anywhereâ she said, more like a promise than a threat.
juju pressed herself closer behind you, pressing her chest to your back, arms snaking around your waist, lips ghosting over your shoulder
paige pushed you back down slowly, kissing you deep lazy but commanding, like she owned every inch of your mouth, jujuâs hands explored lower, down your hips, teasing between your legs, her touch was softer than before, but no less intense.
âyour still sensitiveâ juju murmured, almost teasing, her fingers brushing where you throbbed, tou jolted, breath catching.
jujuss fingers slid in slowly, spreading the slick mess they already made of you, your back arched instantly, a broken sound falling from your throat.
paige grinned breathing heavily. âfuck, look at you.â she starts to rub her fingers on your clit " you love this dont you?" she whispered low.
you nodded without thinking, lips parting âgood girl.â
she kept rubbing your clit in circle motions, and you moaned as juju curled her fingers inside you at the same time, it was overwhelming, you couldnt think, couldnt breathe, couldnt stop.
they moved in sync like they were made to ruin you together, juju leaned over, kissing the curve of your stomach as she kept pumping her fingers in slow, devastating waves âlet go for usâ she whispered âyour ours now.â
and you did, again, and again, your body shaking, your hands gripping their wrist like it was the only thing keeping you from floating away.
when it was over, paige traced kisses on your jaw, juju kissed the inside of your knee, working her way up your body, slow and sweet.
you were wrecked, completely.

âminju, where are we going now?â â you whine, not wanting to walk again, you were pretty sure that you already had over 15 thousand steps today, and yet, minju has another place she suddenly wants to go. âi am tiredâ
âyouâre always tiredâ she claims, staring into your eyes. âyouâll like it, I promiseâ
you groan, tilting your head back. âevery time you said this, I end up regretting it laterâ
âexcuse me?â minju says baffled, âdid you regret the arcade? the rooftop picnic? the train to nowhere?â
ââŚokay, those were fun,â you admit, narrowing your eyes. âbut iâm still tiredâ
she grins, already tugging your wrist. âit will be quick, just a few pictures. iâll even let you pick the filters!âyou sigh, following her. âfine fine, but if I look half-asleep in them, thats your faultâ
âdeal!â
you knew that you would give in, you love minju. she is your best friend after all.
the photobooth minju suggested to go to was located in the popular arcade, the one you went to that one time. as you walk in, the neon glow of the arcade flickers above you, minju is already almost at the booth area, you quickly catch up with her, escaping the air filled with buttered popcorn and soda scents. youâre mid laugh, looking at the ridiculous stickers displayed at the entrance whenâ
thud.
you barely register the warmth of another person before you stumble back, almost falling off your feet.
and then you look up.
wow.
you almost forgot how to breathe.
he is gorgeous. the guy standing in front of you is tall, hands stuffed in pockets.
for a second, his gaze locks onto yoursâin this mere moment you notice his boba eyes, lightly curled hair and his catlike features.
you realized you probably looked like a creep, so you break off the eye contact.
ây/n, are you alright? you almost fell downâ minju took a hold of your hand, worry visible on her face, before it disappeared as she looks in the way of the person you bumped into.
your best friend scoffs. âugh, seriously? again?â
again? your brows knit together as you glance between them.
that guy chuckled, his gaze locked on you again. âIâm happy to see you too. didnât know you had such a pretty friend.â he says with utmost confidence. you can feel the warmth appearing on your cheeks at his compliment, trying to avert your eyes somewhere else.
âoh my god, can you not?â minju sighs dramatically, you never knew she could be so annoyed at sight of someone. huh, guess there is a side of her you donât know of.
âwhat? you wonât even introduce us?â he smirks, not looking away from you.
âfine, jungwon this is y/n, y/n this is jungwon, my cousin.â a nth dramatic sigh escaped from her.
so he is minjus cousinâŚ
ânice to meet you, y/nâ he says, extending his hand for you to shake, your name rolling off his tongue the way you never thought you would hear.
âuh, yea, nice to meet you tooâ you stutter, mentally slapping yourself for it. thatâs what you say? seriously ?
âyouâre really cute, you know?â jungwon suddenly said, you still didnât calm down from the previous compliment and he throws another one at you?
the blush on your face only deepens, making you look like a tomato. gosh, so embarrassingâŚ
âsorry, but sheâs off limits to you, donât try.â minju remarks before you could even respond.
âoff limits, huh. thatâs a shameâ her cousin replies. âoh well, we can still be friends, right y/n?â
mention of your name makes you jolt, and before you could even think, you agree. âOf course! Yea, we can be friends, no problemâ
ây/n?! whatever, just donât cross any boundariesâ ou, maybe you shouldnt have said that.
minju grabs your wrist, pulling you towards the booth. âyou can ignore him if you want toâ
you let yourself be dragged away, but as you step in the photo booth you make a mistake of looking back.
jungwon is watching you, a smug grin on his face, like his cousins words donât mean a thing to him.
If only you knew that it was just a beginning.
since it was a little holiday break before the school starts, you decided to visit your favorite record shop to finally buy a vinyl from your favorite group, arctic monkeys.
walking in, you feel the warmth of the cozy atmosphere. the record shop is filled with a quiet melody, which you recognize but canât put a name on. the air is thick with the scent of old vinyls, worn leather, and a faint trace of coffee coming from the counter. your fingers skim over the albums on display, the rough texture of cardboard meeting your skin. the lighting is dim and golden. it was a place where time slows down. you loved it.
when you find the needed section, you scan the variety, thinking which vinyl you should get. your eyes stop at the familiar black cover with a white sound waveâAM, one of your favorite albums of all time. weird how you never got it, since your first choice song, fluorescent adolescent, is on it.
your hand extends towards the album, and as you almost take it, it disappears from your sight. you firmly turn, hand still in mid-air, eyes locked onto the thief who dared to snatch your treasured almost-purchase. and thenâyou freeze.
yang jungwon.
the same guy who shamelessly flirted with you back at the arcade, minjuâs cousin. but now, the smirk he had the first time you met is nowhere to be found, replaced by an expression that you canât quite read.
âjungwon?â your own voice comes out before you can even think. maybe you should get that checked out.
he blinks, then lets out a small laugh that gives away his disbelief. âhuh, didnât think that iâd run into you again.â
your gaze flickers to the album he still holds in his hands. âdidnât think youâd steal my vinyl either, but here we are.â
âsteal? didnât see your name on it.â the smugness you remember makes its way back onto his face.
âi literally was about to grab it,â you huff, crossing your arms.
jungwon tilts his head, examining the record while considering something, at least from the looks of it. âyou have good taste, but iâm not sure if i should be impressed or offended that your first arctic monkeys vinyl wasnât this one.â
âi didnât really ask for your judgment,â you say, rolling your eyes.
he grins, offering the album back to you, but as you were about to take it, he pulls it back. âhow about this?â he muses, eyes shining. âiâll let you have this if you⌠beat me in a game at the arcade. letâs keep it fair and simple.â
your brows shoot up. âyou canât be serious.â
he shrugs his shoulders. âoh, but i am. you winâyou get your precious AM album. and if i win?â he slightly leans in, just enough to make your heart do something stupid. âyou take me out for coffee.â
you can sense heat creeping up your neck as he goes back to his original position. âthat sounds more like a win-win for you, though.â
âexactly.â
you narrow your eyes at him, pretending to think about your options. jungwon watches you with amusement, twirling the vinyl between his fingers. finally, you sigh. âalright, lead the way.â
his smirk widens as he gestures towards the door with an exaggerated bow. âafter you, my lady.â
you roll your eyes but canât hide the flutter the silly nickname gave you. feeling his presence behind you, you go through the aisles of the store. the dim light fades into the neon gleam of the arcade across the street. the distant sound of buttons and clicking fills the air, instantly reminding you of the last time you were here.
but before you can dwell on it any longer, jungwon steps beside you. âhope youâre ready, because i wonât go easy.â
you glance up at him. ânever expected you to.â
maybe you should have been a little bit less of a nerd and agreed to gyuvinâs and taesanâs offer to go to the arcade.
youâre losing horribly. you did not expect jungwon to be this good at the games.
it all started with the air hockeyâyou were in the lead for the first few minutes before jungwon suddenly interrupted your scoring streak and literally humbled you. was it karma for being too confident?
then came the basketball shootout. jungwon scored three points out of five effortlessly. âiâm not going easy this time,â he teased.
âyou said that six times already,â you muttered, focusing on the game before you, remembering the basketball lessons you attended in middle school.
your first shot bounced off the rim, making jungwonâs smile wider. âwhatâs wrong? scared?â
you ignored him, concentrated again, andâswish. the next shot was clean. then the next one. and the next one. and also the last one.
jungwonâs confidence wavered as you scored four points. you won.
he huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. âyou got lucky.â
you grinned. âsure, whatever helps you sleep at night.â it was finally your turn to tease him.
now, the dance dance revolution is happening. the glow of the DDR machine flickered as the game loaded. the platform beneath you slightly vibrated, metal panels cool under your shoes.
as soon as the game started, the arrows flooded the screen. the music played through the speakers, matching your moves. jungwon was beside you, moving effortlessly, barely missing a step.
you, on the other hand, werenât so careful. your movements were a little frantic, messy, but fun. laughter bubbled up between breaths as you nearly tripped on a tricky move.
âis that all you got?â jungwon teased.
âjust wait,â you huffed, eyes locking onto the screen.
the song sped up, so did both of you.
your movements became more precise, matching the beat. the combo is unbelievably high right now, and everything seemed good.
until it didnât.
you can feel yourself slipping because of the slick material of your shoes. already prepared for the impact, youâre expecting the pain, squeezing your eyes shutâ
but instead, you feel warmth engulfing your hand and bringing you back up.
âcareful now, itâs still not the end,â jungwon says while holding your hand and continuing to dance.
you, having no choice, but to carry on with your movements, but now, with intertwined fingers with the guy beside you.
laughter filled the air as the music started to fade away before it completely stopped and the game started to count your scores.
you, still breathless, still holding hands with jungwon, look at the screen.
87.
you feel proud, but you quickly glance at the screen next to yours, and it says the exact same thing.
you look at each otherâs eyes before bursting into chuckles again.
âso itâs a tie?â he asks, turning to you.
âi guess so,â you reply, chuckling a little bit.
âalright then,â jungwon says while tilting his head towards the exit. âwe both get what we want.â
you nod, still catching your breath. âright. first things firstâmy album.â
âlead the way.â
as you both made your way back to the record shop, the warm scent of vinyls and coffee filled the air again. scanning the shelves, you grab the desired AM album before jungwon could.
he just laughed. âhappy now?â
âvery.â you grinned, already going to check out.
when you paid for the vinyl, you find a phone right before you.
âput your number in. you promised me a coffee, remember?â he reminded you.
for a second, you hesitated, remembering minjuâs words.
âcome on, we had a deal.â a little pout appeared on his face, making you chuckle.
âalright, alright.â you take the phone from him and enter your number before giving it back. you feel your own phone vibrate in your back pocket.
âjust making sure itâs real.â
âdo i look like someone who gives fake numbers?â you scoffed.
ânot really. more like someone whoâd block me instead.â jungwon hummed.
you opened your mouth to protest, but before you could, he was already heading toward the exit. âiâll text you. be ready.â
and with that, you were left alone near the checkout station of your favorite record shop, with the number of a really handsome guy who was off-limits.
the break ended, and you were back at school. the bell rang, signaling the start of lunch. you packed your bag and headed toward the cafeteria to meet up with your friends. when you arrived, you could see your friend group sitting at your usual table.
âhey, everyone.â you greet them, sitting near belle. you unpack your lunch, listening to the conversation flowing around you. belle was excitedly talking about some new drama she started, while minju scrolled through her phone, occasionally nodding. across from you, gyuvin and taesan were locked in some silly debate about whether mint chocolate was a real ice cream flavor or not. the usual chaos filled the cafeteriaâlaughter, the clatter of trays, and distant complaints about break ending too soon.
just as you were about to take a bite of your food, minju nudged your arm. âso,â she started, âdid you end up getting your album?â
you put your chopsticks down. âyeah, why?â
belle perked up. âwait, didnât you say jungwon was there too?â
at the mention of the guyâs name, minju sighed dramatically. âugh, donât remind me. of course he was. he is everywhere. seeing him at school and family gatherings is enough for me, but no, of course not.â she complained further, making belle laugh.
taesan, who was half-listening, raised an eyebrow. âjungwon, as in your cousin yang jungwon?â
minju sighed again. âyes.â
gyuvin smirked, leaning toward your side with curiosity. âthis kinda sounds like a wattpad story. you and jungwon at the record shop? what happened?â
you shrugged, not wanting to give details. ânothing much, we just ran into each other,â you say, leaving out the arcade and the bet. technically, you didnât lieâyou did run into each other.
minju scoffed. âyeah, and he used his annoying charm, didnât he?â
belle grinned. âthat explains why y/n looked a little flustered.â
you decided to ignore her comment, but the way minju stared at you made you shift uncomfortably.
before she could interrogate you further, a new presence approached the table.
jungwon.
your breath hitched as he casually walked past, chatting with some of his friends, some of whom you recognized. jungwon didnât stop, but as he passed, his gaze found a way to youâjust for a second. a glance and a knowing smirk.
your stomach did a weird flip.
taesan must have noticed because he nudged you with his elbow. âuh-oh. what was that?â
you quickly shake your head. ânothing.â
minju, however, caught on immediately. ây/n.â
you ignore her, suddenly finding your lunch very interesting.
but your phone buzzed in your pocket, and you had a guess who that was.
jungwon: hope youâre not backing out of our deal, pretty girl :)
you locked your phone, hoping no one saw that message.
yeah⌠this was going to be a problem.
if before you never noticed jungwon at school, now itâs a different story.
minju was rightâhe is everywhere. you go to the vending machine? he is there. go to your locker to grab a textbook? jungwon is across from you, near his own locker. even in the cafeteria, he always seems to find a way to sneak a glance at you. whatâs worse? he makes it obvious. always smirking at you, showing off his dimples. at times, texting you compliments, reminding you of your promise to get coffee with him.
now, as you come out of the teachersâ lounge after discussing your projects with the physics teacher, you really hope not to bump into jungwon.
but luck is not on your side.
as you step out of the teachersâ lounge, you barely take a few steps before a familiar figure casually leans against the wall beside you.
âtook you long enough.â
you blink at jungwon, whoâs watching you with his signature smirk. âwere you waiting for me?â
he shrugs. âletâs say i had a feeling youâd pass by here.â
you cross your arms, raising a brow. âand why exactly would you wait for me?â
âwell, i think someone still owes me coffee.â he tilts his head, pretending to be in deep thought.
you canât help the small smile tugging at your lips. âi didnât forget.â
âgood, because i was starting to think you were trying to escape from our little deal.â
you scoff. âplease, if i wanted to, you wouldnât even see me.â
jungwon chuckled, clearly amused. âis that right? guess iâll have to keep an eye on you.â
he steps back, shuffling his hands into his pockets as he starts to walk down the hall. âmeet me at the front gate after school, yeah?â
âyeah, yeah. donât be late.â
he grins. âi should be the one saying that, pretty.â
and with that, he disappears into the crowd, leaving you standing there, trying to ignore the warmth creeping up your neck.
but someone noticed the blush on your ears, and they werenât overjoyed with it.
minju and you had been friends since middle school. she truly cared about you, thought of you as her best friend. but as she watched your interaction with her cousin, she couldnât help but feel the disappointment creeping in.
she wasnât sure why it bothered her so muchâmaybe it was the way jungwon looked at you, like he already had you all figured out. or maybe it was the way you looked back at him, the kind of gaze she had never seen you give anyone.
minju had always been protective of youâit was a responsibility she felt. she had been by your side for years. through every bad grade, every family argument, every late-night conversation about life. you were her person, and she assumed she was yours too.
but now, watching her cousin tease you with his shameless smirk, watching you try to stop the smile from appearing on your face, she felt like someone had stabbed her with the sharpest knife.
it wasnât jealousy, as she thought. she didnât really care about jungwon chatting with her friends, but the thought of him stepping into the space she always thought was only hers, the thought of you abandoning her for her cousinâmade her stomach twist in pain.
she knew how jungwon could effortlessly pull people in with his natural confidence, and she knew you too, how easily you could be swayed with kindness.
was she overreacting? maybe, but as she caught the faintest blush on the tips of your ears, she couldnât shake the feeling that made her feel horrible.
and she wasnât sure she was ready for it.
the afternoon sun hung low as you stepped out of the school grounds, only to be met with a familiar smirk. jungwon was already waiting, leaning against the fence, looking too pleased with himself.
âthought youâd run off and break our promise,â he teased.
you rolled your eyes, but the corner of your lips twitched. âyou wish. i take my debts very seriously.â
âso buying me a coffee is a debt now?â he raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended.
âyou practically scammed me into doing this.â
jungwon let out a laugh, his dimples showing. âand yet here you are, willingly taking me to the cafĂŠ. interesting, isnât it?â
you didnât have a comeback for that, so you stayed silent, making him chuckle as he opened the cafĂŠ door for you.
you both walked to the counter to make your orders.
âiâll have a peach iced tea, please,â you ordered your usual.
jungwon hummed, looking at you with an amused expression. âpeach iced tea, huh? didnât think youâd be the sweet type.â
you almost looked offended. âwhatâs that supposed to mean?â
he grinned, turning to the barista. âiâll have an iced americano. card, please.â
you blinked. âwait, what?â
jungwon shrugged, handing over his card before you could protest. âconsider it a treat. since, you know, youâre already so sweet.â his tone was playful, but the smile told you he knew exactly what he was doing.
you groaned, hiding the warmth creeping up your face. âyouâre impossible.â
he simply laughed, nudging your arm lightly as you both stepped aside to wait for your drinks.
you didnât think jungwon would be an interesting person to talk to.
yeah, he made you feel something, but you just brushed it off as pointless flirting.
but as the conversation between the two of you kept going, you realized there was more to him than just smooth lines and smug grins. he was funnyâwitty in a way that kept you on your toes. he listened, asked questions, and actually seemed interested in your rants about movies, books, musicâwhatever else slipped past your lips.
at some point, you caught yourself not hiding the smiles anymore, leaning in a little closer. it was easyâtoo easyâto get comfortable around him.
still, you reminded yourself: it was just playful banter. nothing more, nothing less.
at least, thatâs what you kept telling yourself.
as the evening settled in, you and jungwon stepped out of the cafĂŠ. the cool air was a stark contrast to the warmth of your conversation. the streets were quieter, bathed in the golden light of street lamps.
âyou didnât have to walk me back, you know,â you said, glancing at him.
âi wanted to.â
you didnât protest, secretly enjoying the way his presence made the walk feel shorter, lighterâbetter. the conversation continued, usual teasing remarks mixed with moments of quiet comfort. by the time you reached your doorstep, an unfamiliar hesitation lingered between you two.
âwell,â you started, gripping the strap of your bag. âthanks. i had fun today.â
jungwon grinned, but this time, there was no smugness behind it. his smile felt softer. âme too. see you tomorrow?â
you nodded, stepping inside, giving him a little wave he reciprocated. when the door clicked shut, he let out a breath he didnât know he was holding.
as jungwon walked away from your house, the usual confidence in his steps faltered. the night air felt heavier, and for the first time in a while, he found himself deep in thought.
at first, it was funâteasing you, watching you get flustered, sneaking in compliments just to see your reaction. it was easy, something he never took seriously.
but now?
now there was this unknown feeling in his chest, one he didnât understand. the way you laughed, the way your eyes lit up as you ranted about your favorite songs, the way you looked at him when you thought he didnât noticeâit all replayed in his mind, like an arctic monkeys album on repeat.
he liked you.
the realization hit him. it was both exciting and terrifying because it wasnât harmless flirting anymore. it wasnât a game anymore.
and suddenly, fear crept inâthe fear of messing up, of ruining the dynamic you already had, of what minju would think, of what you would think if you found out how he was starting to care.
with a sigh, he pulled out his phone, hesitating before typing a message. but in the end, he deleted it, shoving his phone back into his pocket as he continued walking.
for now, heâd play it safe.
but he knew these feelings werenât going to disappear anytime soon.
minju has been acting weird. not in a way that itâs obvious to everyoneâshe still laughed at gyuvinâs dumb jokes and rolled her eyes when taesan ranted about some rock band he had a hyper fixation on. but with you, something shifted.
she didnât text as often, and when she did, her replies seemed distant and dry. at lunch, she still sat beside you, but the stiffness in her posture gave out how she was forcing herself to act normal.
you had a guess it was about jungwon, but there was no direct proof. she hadnât said anything, nor confronted you. she hadnât even mentioned his name. when you caught her looking at you, you could see an unreadable emotionâsomething about it pained you so much, no words would be able to explain it.
the worst part about it allâshe pretended everything was normal, when it was clear as hell it was not.
did she think you wouldnât notice?
you had enough.
after a week of minjuâs distant behaviorâshort replies, the forced smiles, all the excusesâyou could not take it anymore.
so when the last class of the day ended, before she could storm off as she did the past week, you gathered up all the courage you had and reached for her wrist.
âminju, wait.â
she froze for a second, carefully turning to you, her expression blank. âwhat?â
you exhaled, steadying yourself. âcan we talk?â
you could recognize slight hesitation in her eyes. but then she sighed, pulling her wrist from your hold. âokay.â
you didnât miss the way her shoulders tensed, she already knew what you were about to say.
as the teacher stepped out of the classroom, leaving you two completely alone, you opened your mouth to say somethingâbut nothing comes out. the guarded look on minjuâs face made you hesitate.
still, you pressed further. âminju⌠have i done something wrong?â
her brows furrowed, like she did not expect that. âwhat do you mean?â
âyou have been avoiding meâbarely talking, no daily update texts, you donât even look at me!â you said it all in one breath. âplease, tell me if i have done something wrong.â
she scoffed, shaking her head. âyou didnât do anything.â
âthat doesnât sound really convincing.â
she exhaled heavily, gripping the strap of her backpack. âi justââ she stopped herself, biting her bottom lip, before muttering, ânevermind, itâs nothing.â
you frowned. âit is if itâs making you act like this.â
she looked conflicted, her fingers twitched, like she wanted to grab something, maybe steady herself. then, she let out a humorless chuckle.
âyou really donât get it, do you?â
you raised your eyebrow, signaling her to elaborate.
minju sighed. it wasnât her usual frustrated huff, it was heavier, emotionally deeper.
âitâs jungwon.â
you blinked. âjungwon?â
she nodded, letting out a breath she was holding. âyou and him. i see the way you two are.â
you looked at her confused, not exactly understanding what she meant.
she looked at you, her eyes did not hold any frustration behind them, they were hurt.
âi hate it.â her hands clenched at her sides. âi hate seeing you with him. i hate that your smile is brighter with him rather than me.â
your breath hitched at her sudden confession. âminjuâŚâ
âi know i shouldnât feel this way, i know itâs selfish,â she continued, her voice wavering. âbut i canât help it. you were my best friend. and nowââ she swallowed hard.
ânow, i feel like iâm losing you.â
you could feel your heart ache. minju had always been at your side, and youâre making her feel like this.
you took a step closer, taking her hand. âjuâŚâ
she shook her head, wiping a few stray tears with her free hand. âi just donât want you to leave me behind.â
you hesitated, guilt twisting inside you. fidgeting with your fingers, you remembered all the times minju had been distant lately, the way she avoided you, the way warmth in her was replaced by something unfamiliar, colder. it wasnât about jungwon. it was about you. about her. about the space growing between you.
you couldnât stand the thought of hurting her more than you already did.
your arms flung around her, hugging her tightly. you whispered, âi wonât see him anymore.â
minjuâs eyes widened. âwhat?â
âif it brings you that much pain⌠iâll stop.â
for a moment, she stared at you, as if she didnât believe you. then her lips parted slightly, letting out a shaky breath.
ââŚthank you,â she whispered, hugging you back.
you gave her a small smile, as you continued to hold her. but deep down, you felt something twist painfully.
you ignored the feeling, because if staying away from jungwon would fix things, then thatâs what you will do.
you will keep your distance. you will ignore the way your heart pulled you in the opposite direction.
making things right with minju was what mattered the most.
but as you held her, a storm of emotions burst inside you, and you couldnât ignore the feeling that this decision would leave a crack in your heart that might never heal.
that night, as you lied in bed, the weight of your promise crashed on you like a big pile of stones. every time you closed your eyes, you saw jungwonâs smile â the way his dimples would appear when he teased you, the way his eyes softened when you reacted to it. you tried to push these thoughts away, telling yourself it was for minju, but to no avail. the harder you tried to fight it, the more his face lingered in your brain. was this really the right thing to do?
you decided to scroll through your chat with him â for the last time, before everything comes to an end. going back to older texts, you stared at your phone, that one message glowing on the screen: âhope youâre not backing out of our deal, pretty girlâ. a smile tugged at your lips, before quickly wiping it away, remembering minjuâs tear-strained face. she wasâis your best friendâyour person. you had to fulfill what you promised. but then why did it hurt so much, even from a mere thought of letting jungwon go?
you decided to go wash up, maybe a cold shower will freshen you up.
thatâs what you thought.
the cold water hit your skin, sharp and biting, but it did little to wash away the mess in your mind. you stood there, letting the water hit you, hoping that it would drown out the thoughts about jungwon. but instead, it only made them louder. overwhelming thoughts clouded your mind. what if this was all a mistake? yourâwhatever it isâwith jungwon. maybe he really didnât care about you, maybe he was just bored and decided to play with you. but then you remembered the way he looked at you â like you were the only one in the whole world. undoubtedly, jungwon made you feel like it. you remember the way his hand held yours back in the arcade â warm and steady, like the tickling of a clock. even now, you swore you could still feel it, under the icy stream, the ghost of his touch hugged your fingers.
was it possible to miss someone that much?
after what you thought would be a refreshing shower, your mind never cleared up. changing into pjs and trying to sleepâuncountable attempts at emptying your head and tossing and turning in your bed.
concluding that trying to fall asleep was pointless, you went to your small balcony, the cramped comfortable place with a small couch. you always liked it, the way the city noise faded into distant hums, the way the sofa would cradle you when everything was too heavy.
you hugged you knees to your chest, looking up at the star-filled night sky, the cool air brushing against your skin. the familiar comfort of the balcony couldnât help with the ache in your heart. why did it have to be like this? why did you have to choose between the person who was always there for you and the person who made your heart race in a way that youâd never felt before?
life is so unfair.
you knew that the next day would be challenging. you woke up earlier than usual, just so you wouldnât bump into jungwon at your locker, just so you didnât have to regret the decision.
one thing you were grateful forâjungwon wasnât in your class. belle and gyuvin wereâthey helped you to empty your mind, they made things so much easier for you. at that moment you silently thanked them for being there.
during lunch, you sat at your usual table, forcing a smile as belle and gyuvin had a heated debate over something silly again. minju was next to you, her laugh ringing out as she teased gyuvin for his unluckiness. she was looking better, happier.
she gave you hope that everything might be okay. when she noticed you looking down, which she always did, she took a hold of your hand, squeezing it lightly. you looked at her, smiling and squeezing her hand back, signaling that everything was okay.
it was a lie.
you noticed jungwon coming closer to your location with your peripheral vision and you couldnât stop yourself from looking, but you had to. you could since the way his gaze lingered on you for a second too long. you couldnât reciprocate it, you shouldnât. so you didnât, you simply ignored him, rather engaging in a chat with your friends about who knows what.
this choices pained you, but you didnât pay attention to it. thinking everything will be alright as long as you donât acknowledge it. just to make sure, you squeezed the hand in your again, hoping the gesture would help to relax, but all it did was remind you of the promise that could be broken with a single glance.
it will be fine.
thatâs the phrase you kept telling yourself, over and over, like a mantra. but as you sat there, surrounded by your friends, their laughter and chatting filling the air, you couldnât shake off the feeling that you were lying to yourself and everyone else. you didnât wanna believe it, refusing to accept your own thoughts. everything will become easier.
right?
the rest of the day passed in a blur. everything was as usualâyou answered some questions in class, nodding along your conversations, even laughing at the right moments. you tried to delude yourself into thinking that everything was fine, and you almost succeeded. in the back of your mind, thoughts about jungwon still lingered.
when the last bell rang, you let out the sigh of relief you didnât know you were holding. you hurried back to your locker, you had to go home as quicker as possible, you didnât want to encounter with anyone. but to your luck, fate had other plans for you.
âheyâ
the familiar tone of his voice made you freeze. slowly closing the door to your locker, you stepped back, to make the distance a little bit longer between you two, as it didnât feel as an enormous canyon already.
as your gaze met his, for the first time today, you were stunned. there he was in all his glory â jungwon. he was casually leaning against the lockers, hands holding his backpack.
âyouâve been avoiding meâ the way he said this was light, but it carried something heavy, his eyes tell everything.
you open your mouth to deny, but you canât. because its true. you have been avoiding him. you did everything just to not interact with him. suddenly, you canât look him at the eyes, unable to focus on anything, your eyes run across the hall, just to find something. anything.
âis everything alright?â his soft, somewhat scared tone made your eyes flicker to him again. this time, he wasnât looking at you, instead, he stared at the floor beneath him.
if the smirk that had a place on his face at the start of the conversation, now it disappeared. his face carried so many emotions, but one stood out the most.
fear.
this is the first time you see him like this, the confident, cocky jungwon, was now too scared to look at your eyes, asking such a simple, but at the same time difficult question. you didnât know what to do.
one part of your mind whisperedâto apologize for ignoring him, to hug and to comfort him. you want to say that you didnât want to make him feel like this. but on the other hand, someone screams at you to go away, to stop seeing him, to tell him to block your number. and the one thing that pulls you to do so, is the promise between you and minju.
you never have broken your promises, never. even in the third grade when you got one C, you promised your parents to get 100 in all the classes next semester. that you did, even when you were sure that they wouldnât mind if you got less. even in the 7th grade, when you promised to bake cookies for all your friends, with zero knowledge of baking. you still did it, even if the taste wasnât that amazing. you still did it.
you canât break the promise you made yesterday, the promise to your beloved best friend.
what you were about to do will hurt you, and you will definitely regret it, but it just had to be done.
âlets stop thisâ you say sternly, trying to hide away all the pain that your own decision brought you, hoping that it will ease the impact on jungwon, fully knowing that it wont.
âwhat?â his head shot up, a surprised look evident on his face. for a moment, he just stared at you, as if waiting for you to laugh and say it was a joke. but that moment didnât come, his expression shifted, confusion and hurt played on his face, along with something you couldnât quite pinpoint.his eyebrows furrowed, âare you serious?â, his voice cracking slightly.
you just nod your head, despite the storm and explosions inside your brain. fixing the bag strap on your shoulder, you just walk away, like it didnât bother you, like you didnât care about the record shop, arcade, cafe, like every his message didnât bring you joy, like you didnât care about him.
each step was heavier than the last one, you could feel the way he stared at you from behind, even when you wanted to, you wouldnât dare to meet his eyes. if you did, you were sure youâd break.
tears welled up in your eyes. you want to apologize, want to say that it was just a stupid prank. but you couldnât. not even for him.
as you walked away from the school grounds, you let tears spill, not able hold them back anymore. you wiped them away, but they kept coming, they were serving a reminder of what you just did, what you just lost.
as you walked home, the weight of your decision settled with unexplainable pain in your chest, a constant sickness that didnât fade.
when jungwon arrived home after that night, he started thinking immediately.
should he confess or should he wait? if the first, then how? where? with flowers? with a plushie? with a vinyl?
as he thought about these, the moments of your talk flickered in his memory. not wanting to forget a single detail, jungwon grabs his notepad and writes down everything he remembers.
even after scribbling down his thoughts, his heart didnât calm downâit still raced, he couldnât understand, it was the first time he felt this way, he didnât think that someone would be able to make his stomach flip with every emotion known to the world. he leaned back in his chair, spinning mindlessly around his room as different outcomes played in his mind. he was fed up with all this overthinking.
he should rest.
thatâs the conclusion he came to. jungwon rushed to the shower, turned up the coldest temperature and screamed in terror.
thatâs not what you do, idiot
after adjusting the temperature, he basked in the comfortable rain, calming down his mind and heart. that night he slept almost worry-free.
the week went smoothly, usual eye contact with you at lunches became something more, little waves joining the routine. jungwon tried to talk with you during breaks more too, finding you at your locker or vending machine in the backyard of the school campus.
sometimes you would share short jokes with each other, laughing quietly. the other, you would get to know each other more, playing 21 questions, this way jungwon was able to show you the picture of maeumi and find out that you adore dogs, especially the small ones. that small fact brought a smile on his face, he started to imagine the walks that you two would go on, heâd bring maeumi along, and you would have a nice picnic date, maybe.
he was quickly snapped back into reality with your next question, pretending that he didnât just imagine how you would intertwine hands.
one time, you were quiet with each other. it couldâve been awkward, but it wasnât, it was comforting actually. the wind gently blowing on you, carrying faint noise from other classes along. you two would just laugh at that while making eye contact.
everything seemed to go smoothly, jungwon was already brainstorming ideas for his confessionâalready sure with his choice. there was just one question left to ask: what is your favorite arctic monkeys song.
and he was sure that today he would ask it.
the morning went as usual, he got up, brushed his teeth, got dressed and went to school. his first period was math, but even that couldnât ruin his mindset, which wasnât unnoticed by his friend, sunoo.
âwhatâs up with you today? youâre never this hyped for mr. leeâs classâ, he asked, looking at jungwon like he grew 2 heads.
âitâs nothing, just have big plansâ and that he did, jungwon planned to take you to the vinyl shop where you met during the break. listen to some albums and ask you the question he badly needed an answer to.
âsomething related to y/n?â sunoo asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
instead of a response, jungwon just smiled, the red cheeks answered for him. and when he heard the giggle his classmate made, the blush only deepened.
up until lunch, jungwon couldnât contain the happiness he had, smiling through all his classes, even through chemistry. his classmates looked at him like a maniac, i mean, who smiles during organic chemistry explanation?
he didnât care about all that tho, all he wanted is to see you at lunch, look at your eyes and smile.
when he met up with jay near the cafeteria, he knew that they would pass your usual table, he mentally prepared himself for that moment.
he walked in your direction, that way, you would face each other perfectly, and when he almost waved, you refused to meet his gaze, preferring to engage in a conversation with your friends.
the smile on jungwons face immediately faltered. he felt an instant drop in his chest, confusion overtook his expression, if the cafeteria wasnât so crowded, he would definitely stand like a deer.
jays arm was placed on his back so he would continue walking, and jungwon couldnât help but submit. a wave of emotions struck him. what was that just now?
he could only keep walking, but the only thing replaying on his mind was how you turned away from him. over and over.
did i imagine that? maybe y/n just didnât see me, yea that has to be it.
he tried to reason with his own brain, but the more he thinks about the interaction, the more doubt he has. you looked at everyone else, hell, jungwon swore, you looked at his direction for a millisecond. you saw him, you justâchose not to.
the weird feeling appeared in his stomach, not the one from before, no. it didnât make him giggly and happy, instead, it made him sorrowful, doubtful.
jays words donât even make sense now, jungwon canât hear them, all he can think about is: what did i do wrong?
when he met up with his other friends, his mind was somewhere else, he didnât answer their questions, he couldnât even hear them, he was deeply immersed in his own thoughts. every single possibility crossing his mind. he had to ask you what was that.
after lunch, he could not focus. if in the morning it was because of the happiness that distracted him, now it was the misery casting upon him. he had to get out of this class immediately. jungwon counted seconds until the bell. and when finally it rangâhe ran to the backyard with all his strength. he doesnât mind his friends who look at him confused, he has to go to your spot. and when he arrivesâ
nothing.
jungwon is met with emptiness of the backyard, if you wanted to come here, then you would, your classroom was literally a minute away, unlike his. but you didnât.
youâre not near the vending machine, not sitting on the bench, and youâre not even crouched down in the corner where you two would usually sit.
then it hits him. itâs not a coincidence.
youâre avoiding him.
jungwon just stands there, not knowing what to do. he takes in the silenceâthe emptiness. the place that was associated with warmth was colder than any winter.
now he must talk to you. he checks his watch, it was 2 minutes before the bell on the last lesson. he had no choice but to come back. when his friends tried to question him, jungwon just shrugged, signaling that he didnât want to answer anything.
he just has to wait for another hour. damn it.
when that painfully long 60 minutes passed, jungwon stuffed all his things into his backpack, not caring if it was messy, which was unlike him, he always made sure that his notebooks are all organized. the mess in his head made his actions look chaotic.
when he arrived at the lockers, he saw you. rushing to put all your textbooks in a tiny blue locker. why were you in such a hurry? is it because you didnât want to see him?
jungwon shakes his head, there was no time to overthink, he just had to ask, you were right here, in front of him.
as he tried to calm his mind down, you were almost done. he leaned against the lockers, almost whispering:
âheyâ
jungwon could see you stop in your movements, this little detail made his heart sink, his hands gripping the backpack strap so tightly, his knuckles turned white.
as you carefully close your locker and take a step back, which breaks his heart, you finally look at him, at that moment, jungwon felt mute, he couldnât get any words out of his mouth, and he had plenty. he wanted to curse at you, question you, adore you, but all that he is able to muster out is â âyouâve been avoiding meâ
you look stunned, like you didnât expect that question, but quickly that expression transformed into one of regret? that only made jungwon more curious at what you had to say. he felt despair, he was dying to know what prompted such behavior from you.
after noticing how your orbs scanned through the school hall, he couldnât continue looking at you, instead, shifting his gaze to the floor, wishing that it would swallow him as a whole. âis everything alright?â, he manages to whisper.
few seconds later, which felt like an eternity, you look at him, with a stare so harsh, that it felt like a hit by a metal bat.
âletâs stop thisâ you say, and jungwon canât believe his ears. his breath got caught in his throat. you didnât have to specify what you meant by âthisâ. it was obvious, you both acknowledged the growing tension between the two of you.
he felt like a deer in headlights. âare you serious?â he asks, because he feels like youâre joking. he is waiting for you to laugh at him, to point his expression, just say something, anything.
but you donât, you just nod, rubbing salt into the wound. and when it couldnât get worse, it did. you turned away and walked away. just walked away. the ache in his chest spread all over.
jungwon felt devastated. after everything â you just turn away from him? he wants to cry, to break down, but doesnât find any strength in himself to do so.
he just watches your figure slowly disappear when you walk towards the direction of your home.
you cried the whole evening.
when you just got home, you broke down, disturbing everyone present. your mom looked so heartbroken at the sight of her daughter in such misery. and she couldnât do anything but give you a comforting hug and offer your favorite tea, which was enough.
your dad decided to give you space, which you were grateful for. you didnât know what to do and what to think. you justâŚhad no idea.
even your older brother gave you some space by not teasing you for your tears, feeling that it was something serious.
when you went up to your room, you dropped your bag, which resulted in a loud noise, but you paid no mind to it, you just wanted to cry.
not bothering to change out of your school uniform, you collapsed onto your bed. the dampness of your pillowcase only reminded you the reason why you were crying.
jungwon.
the way he looked so hopeful, but so doubtful at the same time. visions of him only strengthened the flow of your emotions.
you want to apologize, to call him, to confess in everything you felt, how he made your heart race, or how you couldnât think straight way back when you two met at the photobooth.
and then you remember minju. how happy she looked, like she was released from the heaviest load. or how she looked when she admitted her feelings, how much stress she buried within herself.
all these overwhelming feelings made you tremble. your fingers curled into the fabric of your jacket, gripping it so it could somehow steady you, like it could calm down the storm in your mind. you tried to take a deep breath, but it only made everything worseâyou could smell the scent of cinnamon of your shampoo, the one that jungwon teased you for all the time.
you exhaled. shaky and unsteady.
why did it feel like this?
every time you though of himâhis eyes searching yours in the sea of others, his smile with unforgettable dimples, that made you giggle tooâit felt like a weight pressuring down on you. you squeezed your eyes shut in attempt to forget those memories, but they clung to you, like lyrics of the song you loved.
you had done the right thing.
then why was the pain so sharp?
monday was a dread. the start of the work week, the sudden change in the sleeping schedule and an overwhelming amount of tasks and responsibilities weighing over you.
but this week, itâs even worse. because this week, you had to face him again.
you still werenât over the emotions that consumed you over the weekends, still feeling regret, melancholy and sorrow. and that showed in your academics. you had no energy to even talk, thereâs no need to mention solving an equation at the board.
thanks to your good reputation, teachers decided to let you rest, that you needed. honestly, you wouldnât have come to school, if not for the physics quiz, but there is one.
your friendsâbelle and gyuvinâseemed really worried, asking you numerous questions about your well being. you didnât wanna explain, so you just said that you didnât sleep well. an excuse that works all the time.
you felt bad for lying, but you felt that the moment his name will leave your lips, you would break down in tears, not wanting to embarrass yourself further, you saved yourself the trouble.
your look hasnât changed at all when it was lunchtime. barely making your way to the cafeteria, dragging your legs across the floor. when you did arrive there, you felt overwhelmed, your mind clouded with scrabbled thoughts, and suddenly, it was getting harder to breathe.
trying to compose yourself, you get to your usual lunch table where everyone else were waiting. plumping yourself on the seat and greeting others, you pick on your food, having no appetite, even though you havenât had breakfast in the morning.
all the words donât make sense, whatever minju is telling you, it goes into one ear and leaves through the other, you canât focus on anything.
the struggle to breathe came back. dropping your utensils, you grab your head, not being able to deal with all these noises. you could feel tears forming in your eyes, daring to roll down. the heartbeat went far away from normal.
this is not you, focus y/n
you try to tell yourself, but to no avail. you could feel like the control of your body slipped away from your grasp.
suddenly, there was a sharp sensation, someone is trying to wake you up, shaking you. its minju.
ây/n? y/n! Y/N?â
it is definitely her. her voice stands out from the crowd. you could finally see whatâs happening around you, blurry, but good enough.
âfollow me. inhale, exhale, inhale, exhaleâ minju repeated worryingly, imitating what she meant.
you did as she asked, inhale and exhale, and repeat.
feeling the warmth of the real world, you gasp, your hands quickly taking ahold of whatever first came into contact, which happened to be your best friendâs arms.
ây/n! are you alright? what happened?â all the eyes were on you, staring into your soul.
âiâŚdonât know, i juts lost myself for a second, i guessâŚâ
âcome with me, ill walk you to the nurses officeâ minju says and immediately brings you up, giving you no room to refuse.
having no choice, you follow her, hoping to get a little bit of silent time.
jungwon watched this unfold from few meters away.
the moment he saw you, tirelessly dragging yourself to your friends, he couldnât tear away his gaze from you, not even the pain you brought stopped him. he just knew that something was wrong.
when the faint sound of chopsticks falling onto the table could be heart, he became tense, stopped eating himself.
the tears that formed at your eyes made his eyes widen, and his posture weird, like he wanted to stand up and come to you.
jungwonâs fingers twitched against the table, he couldnât, he shouldnât, but he wanted to.
while he was in the internal conflict, his body moved up on its own, but not making more moves, like testing his limits, if he can hold himself back.
but his mind was too slow. his own cousin was already helping you, trying to snap you back into reality. he could feel his chest tighten at the sight.
was it jealousy? was it sorrow? maybe both? jungwon didnât know, only you were on his mind.
how he hates to see you in pain and how you pained him. the contrast was overwhelming, but before he could even decide what to do, you were walking away, in the arms of minju.
what was he supposed to do? was he supposed to do anything? questions filled his mind.
he didnât even notice how he sat back, his mind being too clouded.
jungwon hopes he will have a chance to know if youâre well.
the moment you lied down on the bed in the nurses office âyou fell into a deep slumber, having no worry in the world, it might have seemed like that, but it was actually the opposite. the overwhelming amount of things that clouded your mind made you pass out.
to be frank, the sleep was nice. but the sound of someone calling your name disturbed it.
and just like that, you were woken up and met with the face of your own mom.
she sweetly said: âsweetie, iâm here to pick you up. your homeroom teacher told me what happened. are you okay?â
âim fine now. what time is it?â you answer her, scratching your head, ignoring the mess that formed there.
she looked at her watch and looked back at you. â2:30, you wonât miss much, donât worryâ
âalright, should we go now?â you stand up on your feet, holding her hand.
your mother just nodded at you, saying goodbye to the nurse.
when she finished filling out the form, she took ahold of your shoulders, as to steady you.
âim alright mom, i wont fallâ
âbetter be safe than sorryâ she said softly, but worry was evident in her voice.
âif that makes you feel betterâ
as you both sat down in the car, the feeling of drowsiness appeared again. the drive to your house was not short, so you decided to sleep for a bit. your mind was clear as day, like it was washed, which is so unusual for you, especially in the past few days.
when you arrive at the house, you decided to check your phone, several messages appeared, some from social media, some from other stuff, and a lot from the specific group chat.
it was your friend group chat â and multiple messages made it clear that you made them worry a lot.
minju: y/n pls text when youâre feeling better :(
belle: yes! and donât forget to drink lots of water and rest a bunch TT
taesan: belle is right, you should rest. donât come to school tmrw
gyuvin: you made us worried bro đ donât scare us like that the next time
smiling at their care, you quickly type a response.
you: sorry everyone! thank you for all the support, and i donât think ill come tmrw either TT
you: im alright now tho, just gonna rest a lot lol
a few bubbles appear immediately, wishing you a good rest, and saying that you should take better care of yourself.
you reacted to their messages, silently promising that you will do as they said.
putting your phone on the charger, you change into more comfortable clothes and go back to your bed, ready to make up for missing sleep the past week.
tuesday, you, as promised, didn't show up. minju was glad that you let yourself rest, even if itâs just for a day. she was worried about you after all, it wasn't like you to have a panic attack in the middle of lunch.
it was boring though. usually, youâre the one who agrees with minju, the one who would listen to her. itâs not like the others wonât, but it just wasnât the same.
âwhatever,â minju thought. âat least i leave early todayâ
today was some kind of a family event at her house, her mom loved inviting guests over. jungwon will be there too. minju didn't feel anger as she usually does, talking with you helped a lot more than she thought.
after the fourth period, right before lunch, minju was already packing her bag. as she walked to the gates, she noticed a familiar figure waiting there.
âjungwon?â minju asked, when she was close enough.
the said boy turned around to face her, he didn't seem surprised though, like he was waiting for her.
âoh, hey. my mom will be here soonâ
âhuh? auntie is picking me up?â minju was surprised to hear that, as she wasnât notified of this.
jungwon looked at her weirdly, raising one of his brows. âyea? pretty sure, your mom texted you about this.â
minju immediately checked her phoneâtaking it from her pocketâand jungwon was right. there was a message from her mother that minju will be picked up from school.
âoh.â
awkwardness filled the air; it was weird, the two of them got along just well, playfully bantering, but supporting each other when needed.
âare you alright? you seem pretty out of itâ minju broke the silence, genuinely worried for his well-being.
âhuh? oh yeah, just fineâ he replied, his words trailing off into something barely audible.. âum,â jungwon hesitated.
âis y/n goodâŚ?â the question was asked impulsively, jungwon was surprised himself.
minju looked at him weirdly. âyes, she is. why do you care?â the previous awkwardness shifted into something more sharp and stern. friendliness slowly disappearing.
âi guess, i was worried. looked like she was having a hard time yesterday.â he didn't mind minjuâs tone, like it was normal for her, which it kinda was.
their one-sided tension was interrupted by the sound of a car honk. it was jungwonâs mom.
âhey, you two! get in! weâre already late!â
the two teenagers looked in her direction and sprinted off to the vehicle. both of them got into the backseat, on the opposite sides. while minju was talking with her auntie, jungwon decided to wear his headphones and tune into his world of music.
when they arrived to park household, minju and miss yang went to the kitchen to help minjuâs mom, while jungwon went upstairs to minjuâs room.
âyou can go to my roomâ he recalls her saying.
as he walks in, jungwon is met with a splash of sky blue. her bed is made, with different jellycats on top of it, near it, minjuâs desk stands, different makeup tools and school stuff lay on it. but jungwonâs attention goes to the board above her desk. different polaroids and photobooth photos are there, but his gaze is fixed on only one.
three photos with you and minju. you look exactly the same as the day when he first met you. the same sweater, hairstyle and lipgloss.
jungwonâs eyes widened. he doesn't know why. he is aware that youâre best friends with his cousin, so why did his chest tighten?
he still likes you.
thatâs right. he still does. even after you said that you gave to stop seeing each other, his feelings still lingered.
âhey jungwon, you should go downst-â
minju stopped in her tracks when she sees her cousin staring at her board with pictures. her eyes immediately landed on what he's staring atâthose pictures.
âoh, yeah, lets g-â he didnât have time to finish his sentence as the sudden door slam scared him.
âwhatâs up with you? first you ask about y/n, and now youâre staring at her photos? didn't i tell you to stop whatever you're planning?â annoyance was evident in minjuâs voice. she hated the fact that jungwon looked like he cared about you, minju knew he didnât, she hoped he didnât.
jungwon's chest tightened, his hands formed fists as a habit whenever anyone raised their voice at him.
"what are you talking about?" his voice was quite, but sharp.
minju scoffed at his ignorance. âdon't play dumb, jungwon. you know exactly what im talking about. its y/nâ
his jaw clenched. the sound of her name felt like a hit in the ribs. âwhat? i can't ask if sheâs okay now?â he tried to play it cool, he didn't want to show his vulnerability.
minju let out a dry laugh. âyou donât get to pretend like you care.â
jungwon couldnât believe what was he hearing now, he canât back down now, thatâs for sure. âyou think i was, am pretending this whole time?â
minju was stubborn, her knuckles turned white. âthen explain, why did she stop talking to you, huh? if you truly cared for her, then she wouldnât walk away, right?â
jungwon flinched. his heart rate picked up and his fingers curled tighter into his palms.
he has been asking himself the exact same thing.
he sharply exhaled, forcing his voice to stay steady. âhow about you tell me?â
minju froze, her eyes widened, her hands relaxed.
her reaction wasnât unnoticed by jungwon. thatâs when the realization hit him.
âso it was you? you told her to do itâ his gaze locked on hersâpiercing, demanding to confess.
âyea, so? it was the best choice for herâ minju snapped, but quickly quieted down, as she started to pick ner nails. nervousness took a hold of her.
jungwon let out another exhale. âyou cannot be serious nowâ he took a step closer. âwho are you to decide whatâs best for her?â
minju was triggered, she was everything he wasnât to you. âi am her best friend, who are you to decide that youâre the one who she needs?â
âare you calling yourself her best friend when you canât even see and value her feelings?â
âI-â minju had no words. he was right, she made you stop talking with him out of her selfishness. she wanted to keep you for herself. she didnât want jungwon to take you from her. she didnât want that to happen again.
âyeah, exactly.â he looked at her for one last time before rushing to the front door. he needed some fresh air.
âjungwon? where are you going?â âto the shop, i'll be quick!â
minju could hear voices downstairs, she was completely frozen. she was slapped with realization that she had no right to decide whatâs best for you. even if she just wanted you to be happy.
tears formed in her eyes, silently running down her cheeks. minju leaned against her door and plumped on the ground, sobbing inaudibly.
she canât just do nothing now. she was proven wrong. she hurt two of her closest people. the guilt was eating her alive.
minju stood up and sprinted to the front door, shouting âiâll be right back!â ignoring the yell from her mom, she had no time, she had to apologize to you.
itâs a 15 minute walk from her house to yours, but she made it in 7. she started ringing your doorbell, even when she was still catching her breath.
âminju? whatâs up- what happened?â you opened the door just to be met with your best friend breathing profusely, her face slightly puffy. from the looks of it, she looks like she cried. âdid you cry? are you alright?â
when minju calmed down and was able to breath properly, she looked at you straight into the eyes.
ây/n, i-i am sorry. iâm so sorry.â she started apologizing, for what? you had no idea.
your brows furrowed. âhuh? minju, why are you apologizing?â
her hands clenched at her sides. she looked like she wanted to say something, but the words wouldnât come out.
you had never seen her like this beforeâso frustrated with herself, so shaken.
she swallowed hard, forcing herself to speak. âiâm so sorry y/n, it was meâ
you were still dumbfounded. âwhat?â
minjuâs voice cracked, but she kept going. âi was the one who made you stop talking with jungwonâ she exhaled sharply. âi thought it would be for the best, but it wasnât. i acted on impulse and because i was selfish. i thought if you and jungwon got close, you wouldnât need me anymore. i didnât want you to talk to him because of that, but i never asked you how you felt, and i guess you really like him, maybe i knew it the whole time, but didnât want to indulge into the thought that i was in the wrong, but it doesnât matterâ she rambled before making a quick pause.
minjuâs eyes were glistening again, her voice barely above whisper. âi hurt you both with my actions, and i want to apologize.â she wiped her eyes harshly.
minju took a deep breath and stepped closer, bowing almost 90 degrees. âi know i donât deserve it-â her voice was raw with emotions. âcan you forgive me?â
you listened to all her ramblings, trying to catch everything. and when you did, your mind went blank.
you had tried to justify what you didâtried to convince yourself it was for the best. but now, hearing minju say it out loud, admitting her mistakes, the truth weighed heavier than you had imagined. a moment of silence has passed before you broke it off.
âminju, i forgive youâ you replied to her apology. âi understand how you felt, and i guess it was wrong to just randomly start talking with your relative.â
minju stood straight and grabbed your shoulders. âno! it was entirely my fault! i have no right of controlling who you decide to talk to.â
you placed your hands on her own. âi never knew you felt that way. iâm sorry for not noticing.â you bitterly smiled, feeling guilty.
minju hugged you, shuffling her head into your neck. you instinctively hugger her back, her tears dampening your shirt.
âcome on, iâll make you some teaâ
you had spent an hour or two calming minju down.
she kept apologizing even after you told her you forgive her.
you listened to her worried and reasons behind her actions, and you never knew that she felt like this.
âyou should confess to him, you know?â minju suddenly said, making you almost spit out your tea.
âhuh? who said i liked him?â you looked around, like searching for the guilty one.
âit is pretty obvious. you never get flustered around anyone. the only time i remember was back in 8th grade.â she put her head into her head. âwas his name jongseob, or something? you liked him a lotâ minju reminded you of an old crush, which made you more embarrassed.
âugh, stop, itâs embarrassing.â you lightly hit her. âi donât think jungwon even wants to see me now. not after i said all that stuff to him.â tearing your gaze away from her, you looked around.
âyouâre kidding. he literally asked me only about you today. âis y/n okay?â âis she doing alrightâ blah blah blahâ she exaggerated even more by showing talking signs with her hands.
you quietly laughed at her antics. âi donât know. i think he doesnât want to see meâ
âif thereâs anyone he doesnât want to see, itâs me, i promise youâ she breathed out. âwe got into a fight which resulted in me coming here.â
you looked at her with pity. âsorry, i guess, i am the reason behind itâ
âstop. donât blame yourself. it was all me.â minju looked at you sternly.
âsorry-â you couldnât hold yourself.
âstop apologizing! you should fix that habit of yours, it starts to get annoyingâ
you laughed lightly at her, almost apologizing again.
when minju came back home, everyone was gone. her place was filled with silence.
âoh, minju, where were you? you missed everythingâ her mothers voice filled the air.
âsorry, i had to do something urgent. has everyone left already?â she quickly made her way to the living room, where her dad was napping and her mom was watching the TV.
âyes, about half an hour ago. did you and jungwon had a fight? he looked pretty sad.â
âuh, yeah, it was my fault. iâll apologize to him soon, donât worryâ minju felt guilty at the mention of her cousins name.
âi hope so, he looked miserable. you two always got along well tooâ her mom sighed, âgo to sleep, you have school tomorrowâ
âalright, good nightâ minju said as she went upstairs.
âgood night!â
the next day, you didnât have any trouble with breathing nor steadying yourself. you were just nervous. in the morning, minju pulled you aside, telling you that you need to confess to jungwon today.
after that, your focus was shifted to something else. how will he react after seeing you? to you confessing? will he reciprocate? will he reject you? all kinds of thoughts filled your mind up until lunch.
you wanted to look for him, but you couldnât bring yourself to do it. when you felt his presence near, you quietly turned your head to look at him, just to find him already looking at you.
kathump.
the feeling in your chest was back. your heart rate sped up again.
a light hit made you snap back, it was minju, she wore a teasing smile that literally said âi told you soâ
your mind went back to that interaction the rest of the day. you couldnât stop thinking about it. but when it was the time to talk to him, you were ready to go straight home.
you were scared. when minju noticed your hesitance, she slightly pushed you.
âyour prince charming is waiting, lookâ she pointed at the direction where jungwon stood.
when you turned to look at your best friend, she was already leaving, mouthing you a good luck.
oh you needed it.
as minju disappeared from your view, you looked back at jungwon.
there he was. hands in pockets, standing tall.
you decided to take one step. and you already felt dizzy.
itâs okay. you can do it.
you quietly said to yourself. you swallowed hard. every step towards him felt heavier, like your legs didnât want to move.
but you that you had to, that you wanted to.
as you were almost there, he looked at you. jungwon just stood there and watched your approach him. even though his hands were barely visible, you swear his fingers twitchedâlike he was holding himself back from walking to you.
you stoped in front of him.
silence.
the weight of everything crashed down at once .
âI-â you started, but didnât know how to finish. you just stared at him.
and he stared at you back. he blinked at youâhis expression unreadable, but his eyes, they were curious, like they were searching for the reason you came up to him.
you turned your gaze to the ground below you, unable to stand under the pressure of his eyes. fingers finding the straps of your jacket.
âjungwon, i-â you took a shaky breath, forcing yourself to look at him again. âiâm sorry.â
his face flickered with surprise. âfor what?â
âfor-â your throat tightened like your grip on your jacket. âfor pushing you away. for saying things i didnât mean. for not asking how you feel. for-â
you exhaled.
âi miss youâ
the words made their way out before you could stop them. your feelings summarized in three words. you just missed him.
jungwon froze.
he fixed his posture, continued to look at you, waited for you to continue.
your hands let go of your jacket and balled into fists. âi like you, jungwonâ you made a slight pause. âi truly do, i donât know how and when it started, but-â you let out a shaky laugh, shaking your head.
âi just know because when iâm not around you, everything feels wrongâ
jungwon was still staring, like a deer in headlights, but then, in a secondâ
his hands werenât in his pockets anymore, they were on your face.
your breath hitched. you could feel the warmth, both from his hands and your fluster.
his fingertips, warm and gentle, carefully traced over your cheeks-like you werenât real, like you could disappear in a millisecond.
his voice was barely audible. âare you serious?â
you nodded. âi amâ
a small, breathless laugh escapes him.
and then-
he kissed you.
the warmth of his lips connected with yours.
your eyes widened, but you quickly adjusted, closing them, your hands made their way to his shoulders.
when his lips started moving, you couldnât help but reciprocate. it just felt right.
you kissed each other just right. it felt wonderful.
the lack of air made you pull away first, but jungwon quickly kissed you again.
and when he did pull away, he smiled.
you saw the smile that you adored, the cutest dimples made their way back on his face.
jungwon hugged you, pulling you close by your waist. âi like you too,â he whispered into your ear. âi always wanted to say that.â
you hugged him back and lightly laughed. âso, can i be your girlfriend?â you asked him.
âiâd love thatâ jungwon replied, stuffing his head deeper into your hair.
you and your boyfriend lied in your room, enjoying each otherâs company.
arctic monkeysâ âAMâ album playing in the background. and itâs all you could ever ask for.
âstill canât believe minju was the one who promoted you confessâ jungwon suddenly said as he played with your hair.
âif it wasnât for her, iâd never look at your direction again, honestly. you should thank herâ looking back at him, you enlightened him.
ânah, weâre even.â he joked. âiâm glad she apologized tho, unexpected from her.â
âstop making her sound like a villain!â you hit him, but you couldnât help but let out a chuckle. âsheâs the one who made me go to that photobooth.â
jungwon held you tighter, kissing your cheek. âwhatever, i have you now. the others donât matter.â
at that you could only hum, closing your eyes.
as fluorescent adolescentâyour favorite songâstarted playing, you drifted into slumber in your boyfriends arms.

Sin & Surrender
Theme: Smut, NSFW,
Pairing: Song Mingi x Reader/YN
The energy in the room was electric, the afterglow of ATEEZâs latest comeback win still thrumming in Mingiâs veins. The celebration had been loud, full of cheers, toasts, and the kind of exhilaration that came from seeing months of grueling effort pay off. But now, the real celebration was about to begin.
He had waited all night, feeling the weight of his hunger for you press against his self-control. Every lingering touch, every stolen glance had fueled the fire in his gut. And now, finally, you were here, pressed against the cool walls of his hotel room, looking up at him with wide, wanting eyes.
"Youâre so good for me, baby," Mingi murmured, his voice low and raspy as he dragged his hands down your sides, his fingers digging into the plush of your hips. "Always waiting so patiently. Always knowing who you belong to."
His praise sent a shiver down your spine, but it was quickly followed by the sharp sting of his teeth sinking into the soft skin of your shoulder. You gasped, the sensation a wicked blend of pain and pleasure. Mingi pulled back, his lips curling into a smirk as he traced the fresh mark with his tongue, soothing the bite.
"Thatâs one," he hummed, gripping your chin between his fingers, making you hold his gaze. "And Iâm not done."
He didn't let you make it to the bed right away. No, that would be too easy. His hands were on you the moment the door shut, pressing you against the hard wood, his hips flush against yours as he devoured your mouth. His tongue was demanding, his hands rough as they slid under your clothes, pushing fabric aside as if it offended him. The first time he took you, it was against the wall, your legs wrapped tight around his waist as he drove into you with an intensity that left you breathless.
"Fuck, you feel so good," he groaned, his lips dragging down your throat, leaving a trail of heat. "So tightâlike you were made for me."
Your moans were music to his ears, spurring him on as he rocked into you, his grip unrelenting. His fingers dug into your skin, branding you in a way that went beyond the bruises he was leaving behind. When he finally let you come undone around him, your nails raking down his back as you screamed his name, he held you close, whispering praises into your ear.
But he wasnât done.
He carried you to the bathroom next, setting you on the cool marble countertop, the mirror fogging from the heat of your bodies. His hands gripped your thighs, spreading them apart as he knelt before you, his dark eyes locking onto yours with unrelenting intensity.
"So fucking pretty when you're wrecked for me," he murmured, his breath ghosting over your heated skin before his mouth descended, leaving open-mouthed kisses along your inner thighs. He bit down, sucking deep bruises into the sensitive flesh, making sure youâd feel him long after tonight.
He took his time there, teasing, his tongue flicking and curling in sinful patterns, his fingers pressing deep as he worked you open. Your head fell back, a broken sob of pleasure spilling from your lips as he groaned against you, lost in the taste of you.
"Youâre dripping for me, baby," he murmured against your slick skin, his tongue dragging up in a slow, torturous stroke. "So greedy. You want more? Say it."
"Mingi, pleaseâ" your voice was wrecked, needy, desperate.
He smirked, gripping your hips to keep you from squirming. "Thatâs my girl."
He pushed you past the edge with devastating precision, watching as your body trembled, the pleasure too intense to contain. His hands never stopped, keeping you open for him, making you take it even when you thought you couldnât.
When he finally rose, his lips glistening, his expression was nothing short of ravenous. "Not done with you yet, baby," he whispered, turning you around to face the mirror, his chest pressing against your back. His hands gripped your hips, his teeth sinking into your shoulder as he slid into you again, this time slow and deep, forcing you to watch the way he unraveled you.
"Look at yourself," he demanded, his voice thick with desire. "Look at how perfect you are for me. Taking me so well. Letting me ruin you."
Each thrust was brutal, claiming, his grip unrelenting as he bent you to his will. Your moans mixed with his, the wet sound of your bodies colliding filling the air. He pressed a hand to your throat, tilting your head back to whisper filth into your ear, his other hand sneaking between your thighs to push you over the edge once more.
By the time you finally reached the bed, your body was a masterpiece of his devotionâred marks, bruises, and the lingering burn of his touch everywhere he had claimed you. He hovered over you, his lips brushing against your ear as he whispered, "One more time, baby. I need to see you fall apart for me again."
And he didnât stopânot until your body was trembling, drenched in sweat, covered in love bites and bruises, each one a permanent reminder of this night. Of him. Of how completely and utterly you belonged to Song Mingi.

Normal people love their weekends because they have some time off; I love weekends because I can finally enjoy my sweet moots incredible works!! And this here, was the perfect sweet and delicious treat I desperately needed!!
From the first word, I was conquered.
The length of Arthurâs absences varied like the frequency of rumbles during a storm. Dark clouds hung heavy over every departure, and your tears threatened to drop like rain down a window. âIâll be back soon,â he always promised while kissing the top of your head and squeezing you tight. Some trips were short cracks of thunder, ending just as fast as they began; others would roll on for days, the heavy rain flooding the rushing river that was your anxiety.
The metaphor is so perfect, on top of being absolutely beautiful. I'm in love already, and this is the FIRST paragraph.
I loved how you perfectly blended the right amount of angst with his long absence, the Reader refusing to forgive him right away even if we can still understand how happy she is to be with him again, to be home again. It was really well-paced and made the situation even more real, as usual with your incredible writing!
All the possibilities of his absence spun in your brain in a demonic sacrificial waltz.
I don't know why but this part made me LOL, it's so meaningful and gave me the best images in my head; like hell yes anxious thoughts clearly does that (for me at least đ)
He wore a familiar cattleman revolver on his hip and long silky locs of hair rested over broad shoulders like alwaysâthough more tame this time. And despite their vibrant colors, the wildflowers in his hands dulled in comparison to the bright white, freshly pressed shirt he wore.
I love this. I love how his return is nuanced and how you perfectly transcribed it with those details. He brought those flowers with vibrant colors but he wore a fresh shirt, suggesting he took care of himself first, which totally cancels out the effect of the flowers and even makes them dull. He's back but he has been (or we thought he has been) selfish. This is peak subtext here!!!!
Once again the "The king has returned" line made me laughed, I could picture it so neatly in my brain, sarcastic bitter tone and all. Also adored how she rightfully reproached him that he looks like it was his birthday, very real and well written! I think the bath line also made a strong impression for everyone, and indeed it was brilliant!! Your dialogues are always on point, and I'm very admirative of that. I'm forever taking notes while reading you âď¸âď¸
And then, as you make us long and wait and make his hard for him to fix things, you deliver the perfect resolution, I was so happy when I read what he had prepared in the room đđ It's so good that you made this crescendo!
Warm light burst out as you crossed into the room. Lit candles lined the fireplace mantle, their flames casting dancing shadows on the walls. A brand new day dress draped across the chair, a decorative hair comb resting atop it. âSaw it in a window.â His words poured out smoothly like aged whisky, the sudden sound causing you to jump but prompting the skin on your arms to prick up all the same. And you were embracing each other without another thoughtâyour fingers intertwining behind his neck, his hands settling on your hips.
Yes yes yes my heart healed!! I also adored how they instantly jumped on each other, a perfect burst of joy after the cold stillness of the situation! And after that, Arthur explaining everything like the adorable puppy he is, justifying himself and all was just so cute I wanted to KISS HIM ALL OVER
âI can do that thing yaâ like.â he offered, his chipped tooth smile brightening his face.
I died.
(no like really, that line with the chipped tooth smile??? God I would have fainted.)
âYou know, I never stop thinking âbout you when Iâm away.â You fluttered around his fingers, and your hips arched a little higher off the bed, âalways thinkinâ âbout you like this, all pretty and spread open for me.â His thumb started fast circles on your clit, and you braced yourself for another tidal wave as his passionate speech continued. âNext time yâmiss me, get on that cot, spread these pretty thighs, think about what Iâm doing tâya, and use those fingers to getcherself off, can you do that for me?â Your eyes rolled back as your mouth fell open, but only sounds of absolute ecstasy came out of you. âWhatdâya say, darlinâ?â
Jesus, the smut part to end this sweet little treat, just like the cream on top of a cake đŤ The dirty taaaaalk omg, I am WEAK, I am on my KNEES, I'm feeling my body tingling everywhere just reading it again to copy/paste the paragraph đ. But seriously though, absolutely perfect ending to continue with the crescendo thing. I don't know why exactly, but I also love that you cut directly to the SECOND orgasm? It was powerful and reinforced the intensity of their reconciliation đ The last paragraph was FIRE too, how you described their love making, comparing it to being home when tangled with the other, no matter the time spent away... Phew!! Loved loved loved.
Absolutely amazing from the first word to the last. I know I'm having the best time when reading you, Zae and I'm never ever disappointed.
Love ya!! Thank you for sharing this delicious sweatest treat with us, definitely needed it! đ (thanks to Kenny for requesting this scenario too eheh!)

an: A request fulfilment for my dear Kenny @emerald-ranch. I kinda added in the birthday thing, I hope that was alright! It became clear to me as I was writing this that I 1000% have a thing for Arthur on his knees...XD anyway, I hope you enjoy!
Peregrine: having a tendency to wander
The length of Arthurâs absences varied like the frequency of rumbles during a storm. Dark clouds hung heavy over every departure, and your tears threatened to drop like rain down a window.
âIâll be back soon,â he always promised while kissing the top of your head and squeezing you tight. Some trips were short cracks of thunder, ending just as fast as they began; others would roll on for days, the heavy rain flooding the rushing river that was your anxiety.Â
But in time, heâd arrive with blood, dirt, and sweat staining his shirt and the scar on his chin covered by his overgrown beard. Outstretched arms would warm you like the afternoon sun. Youâd breathe him in, sighing contentedly despite scents of gunpowder and musk clinging to him.
This time was different.
The sun fell below the horizon for the fourth time since heâd departed. Glass bottles clinked as camp buzzed with the lively energy of celebrationâa celebration for your birthday. You tried everything to enjoy yourself, forcing air through your vocal cords to mimic a laugh, stretching your lips and showing your teeth to fake a smile, all while trying not to panic.
All the possibilities of his absence spun in your brain in a demonic sacrificial waltz. Was he still alive? Did he get arrested? Was he captured by Pinkertons and tortured while the rest of you partied the night away? Or worse, was he out there, perfectly content with being away knowing you were desperately waiting? To keep yourself sane, you rationalized. He was out finding food and making money. He had mouths to feed and people to take care of. Survival was more important than a birthday.
Whether they were too drunk to notice or respectfully giving you space, nobody protested when you slipped away to Arthurâs tent for the night. Tears spilled down your face and onto his pillow as the last hours of your birthday ticked by.
The stench of dread infiltrated your dreams and ruminated even in your waking hours. Nothing you did could free you from the pain of missing him. At high noon, heavy footsteps prompted you to look up from the growing line of yarn in your lap. Youâd memorized the sound of Arthurâs walk like your favorite song, yet the man standing before you felt like an imposter. He wore a familiar cattleman revolver on his hip and long silky locs of hair rested over broad shoulders like alwaysâthough more tame this time. And despite their vibrant colors, the wildflowers in his hands dulled in comparison to the bright white, freshly pressed shirt he wore.
And your heart plummeted like a stone in a lake; while you were crying yourself to sleep on your birthday, he saw to himself instead of you. Privy to your dismay, the cowboyâs features lowered into a frown.Â
âDarlin,â he started, quiet and hesitant. âIâI ainât got an excuse.â
You huffed, losing your stitch count and refusing to meet his eyes. âThe king has returned.â
Leaves and twigs cracked under his uncomfortable shuffle as he faltered, âthought we could go for a ride, toââ
And you didnât let him finish. âMâbusy, Arthur.âÂ
Silence hung in the air while he thought of a response. âMâsorry.â He said, then continued when you didnât acknowledge him. âIâm sorry, and that shouldâve been the first thing outta my mouth.â
âYeah, it shouldâve,â you agreed grudgingly. The threads of intertwined yarn were jumbled and lopsided now, a tangled reflection of this whole week. You threw the needles and yarn down into the grass beside you and finally brought yourself to face him. He wanted to smile finally seeing you, but instead, something like a sigh of relief rolled out with his words.
âTime justâŚgot away from me,â he admitted. âIâm a self-serving idiot bastard, and Iâm justâŚsorry. Just lemme make it up to yaâ.âÂ
You thought for a moment, then glanced over your shoulder at Grimshaw, trying to find an out.
â But I got chores,â you told him.  Â
âDonâtchuâ worry âbout that.â He extended his free hand out to you, and dammit, yours was in it faster than you could deny yourself. The outlaw lifted you up from your seat with one arm and locked yours and his together as he drew you away from camp. And you had to give credit where credit was due because he pulled out all the stops: a ride in a stolen stagecoach, wine, dinner, and a room. He spoiled you in the only ways he knew how, but still, you couldnât rid yourself of the uninvited guest, unadulterated hurt, that squatted in your bones.
âHow was the party?â Heâd asked.
âFine.â You replied, pushing food around on your plate.
âCharles told me the girls managed to get you a cake.â
âThey did.â
And the conversation trailed off like it had so often tonight. Every time you glanced at him, the hair, and especially the shirt, hate-filled magma churned within, and you couldnât hold it any longer, your words spewing out like lava.Â
âSâa fancy shirt.âÂ
His chin touched his chest as he fiddled with the top button. He opened his mouth to speak, but you cut him off for the second time tonight.
âGlad you had time to stop and pamper yourself. Nice shave, fancy hair, new shirt. If I didnât know any better, Iâd think it was your birthday.â
You didnât mean to sound so crass, but now that the pot had boiled over, stopping the overflow felt damn near impossible.Â
âI thoughtââ
âThought?â A curt laugh halted his attempt to explain himself. âItâs hard to imagine you doing any of that.â
And he hung his head, an old dog with his tail between his legsâshameful that heâd disappointed the one he loved the most.
âAnd you paid for a bath too. Tell me, was it twenty-five cents or fifty?â
Your chair screeched against the floor, and you jerked back before he could answer, fleeing to anywhere but that table with him. The room key Arthur gave you in the stagecoach burned a hole in your pocket. You trotted up the stairs, searching for 2C and ignoring his calls from behind you. The least you deserved was a night behind closed doors, locked away from everything, even if it meant locking him out in the process.
And you were embracing each other without another thoughtâyour fingers intertwining behind his neck, his hands settling on your hips.
âMâsorry, sweetheart. Ainât ever gonna forgive mâself for lettinâ you down.âÂ
And you listened patiently while he devolved into his long-winded explanation.
âWas hoping to make a quick house call. Get in nâ out in one night, quick and easy. And I did, but some goddamn bounty hunters found my trail on the way back. Spent a day hiding out, and knew I wouldnât make it back in time. Figured I oughta bring something nice back with me, you deserved that much.â
Your eyes drifted to the buttons of the shirt again, and he tilted your chin to look back up at him.Â
âI saw the dress in a window, and let the man sell me the shirt too. Wanted to be at least a little presentableâsomebody youâd wanna look at. Ainât much I can do about my face, but...âÂ
Chuckling under his breath, he snaked a hand into yours and flicked your stuck-out lip. âThen I saw a sign outside the barber. Buy some pomade and get a free comb for your lady,â he touched his hair and rubbed the grease between his fingers.
âThen I got the key, laid everything out nice, stopped for some flowers, and thought I was prince charminâ off to sweep you away to the ballâwell, the room, more like.â He scratched his neck nervously and shook his head. âI thought youâd think a stagecoach fancy enough to make you forget how much I screwed up. No magic pumpkins âround here though,â he shrugged. âJust an idiot, head-over-heels, hoping you can find it in you to forgive him.â
And frankly, youâd forgiven him the second you stepped foot into the room. Trying to fight your smile was a losing battle.
âYouâre right about the idiot part.â
The gunslinger let out a breathy, almost laugh, before taking your hands in his and ushering you to the bed. Relief ran through you. After four long nights, you could finally submerge yourself in those eyes, blue and gold-like specks of sunlight reflecting on the sea.
âPlease, forgive me, darlinâ, Iâm begginâ.â
Rough pads of his fingers traced over your knuckles as he waited patiently for your response. You crossed your legs and bounced your foot playfully.Â
âI donât know, I seen dogs beg for scraps better than that, Arthur Morgan.âÂ
And while your words were harsh, both of you were smiling now. He grunted, a sure sound of him swallowing his pride, then sunk to one knee, then another.
âSweetheart,â the pet name came out thick and rich like honey, âMâsorry. Lemme fix it.â
His hands gripped both your knees, squeezing them lovingly, his touch so reassuringly familiar. He scooted in closer, guiding your legs apart and settling them on either side of his shoulders.
âI can do that thing yaâ like.â he offered, his chipped tooth smile brightening his face.
You ran one hand through his hair and brought him in by the collar with the other, pecking his lips once, then twice. On the third, you slowed down, lingering with your mouth against his, savoring the all too fleeting feeling of home. Soft giggles slipping between your lips interrupted the moment. Arthur stared up at you with nothing but devotion in his eyes, that laugh like the sweetest medicine, healing his diseased heart long riddled by self-loathing and loss. His right hand had started slow circles on your thigh, reminding you of his proposition.
âThing I like? Donât know what you mean, Mr. Morgan.âÂ
But you were shimmying yourself back onto the bed, and he was grabbing at your bloomers at the same time. He lifted his brow knowingly, and hummed a âmhm,â while you lifted your hips, helping him take the garment off and toss it to the floor.
You bunched up your skirts around your waist and looked down at your lover as he lay on his stomach between your legs. His beard grazed your inner thigh, sending thousands of butterflies fluttering in your stomach. Squeezing your eyes shut, you sighed in relief, releasing four nights of pent-up anxiety as his lips found your center.
And minutes later, just after letting you come down from the first one, he got to work on another climax, fingers pistoning steadily while he whispered all the things he loved about you in your ear. He was on his side next to you now, his own arousal nudging your thigh. The gruffness in his voice sent another surge of pleasure through you.
âYou know, I never stop thinking âbout you when Iâm away.â You fluttered around his fingers, and your hips arched a little higher off the bed, âalways thinkinâ âbout you like this, all pretty and spread open for me.â
His thumb started fast circles on your clit, and you braced yourself for another tidal wave as his passionate speech continued.
âNext time yâmiss me, get on that cot, spread these pretty thighs, think about what Iâm doing tâya, and use those fingers to getcherself off, can you do that for me?â
Your eyes rolled back as your mouth fell open, but only sounds of absolute ecstasy came out of you.
âWhatdâya say, darlinâ?â
And with that last question, the dam broke, your orgasm busting out around his fingers. Your sounds were the most divine opera, rising in pitch with every âYes, Arthur,â as you melted.Â
And he wasnât done with you yet. Despite being miles away from camp, both of you made a home with each other. Home was the trail of raised skin that followed his touch and pairs of eyes meeting in love-filled exchanges. Home was the first few flutters of your pussy as he sheathed himself deep inside you. One night or even a weekâs journey wouldnât deter him, for heâd claw his way through the fiery depths of perdition to get back home to you.

Birthday Magicđ// Spencer Reid
Spencerâs little girl comes to visit him at work on his birthday!
pairing: girl dad! spencer x reader
genre: FLUFF!!
word count: 2.2k
notes: gender neutral reader iâm pretty sure, thereâs like one line that kind of vaguely slightly??? implies reader gave birth if you squint but honestly not really just ignore it// daughter is nameless for the readerâs benefit but just know I wouldâve named her Loralei // season not specified though Emily is mentioned as Spencerâs boss but if you want earlier Spencer just pretend itâs Hotch // daughter is about 4 years old I think // I LOVE GIRL DAD SPENCERđ
âââââââââââââââââââââââ-ââđâââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You watched with a grin as your daughter ran ahead of you towards the desk to pick up your visitorâs badge, tiny feet barely keeping up with her excitement as she stumbled ever so slightly, exposing the mismatched socks beneath her jeans (a habit picked up from her father). The woman at the desk raised herself slightly to peer over the table at the small child who seemed to be an increasingly common presence at the building since you just had to give in whenever she begged with those big brown eyes to visit her dad again- only today there was a very good reason.
âItâs my daddyâs birthday!â a happy little voice exclaimed, standing on tiptoes and raising a sparkly pink gift bag in the air as the woman at the desk smiled back at her.
âWell Iâm sure this will be a very special present.â She said in response as she handed you your visitorâs badge and waved your daughter goodbye.
âGive me your hand, sweetie.â You gently instructed, reaching down for her little fingers as you approached the elevator. A warm feeling swelled in your chest as you took in her outfit- she insisted on picking it out herself for the occasion: blue jeans with embroidered flowers down the sides and a pink and white stripy long sleeve shirt were cosy beneath a pink dress that stopped at her knees with a frilly hem; within brown maryjanes sat two socked feet- one lilac with white spots and the other white with ladybirds; on her back sat a pair of purple and pink fairy wings, matching the wand in her other hand; and finally atop a head of soft, curly pigtails sat a silver princess tiara with a twinkling heart shaped stone in itâs centre. Chuckling softly to yourself, you kept your eyes on her as the doors closed and listened to her giddy giggles and squeals as she bounced up and down impatiently until the elevator came to a stop and opened itâs doors again with a ping.
Immediately, you felt the weight of her hand drop from yours as she sprinted forwards and into the bullpen, much to the delight of everyone working there as a cheery chorus of helloâs rang through the room. As you walked in behind her you caught Penelope freezing in place, jaw dropping in awe and her hand threatening to drop the mug of coffee it was holding.
âOh. My. Goodness. Oh my goodness!â She squeaked as she shuffled over in her ever so tall heels, âyou are just the cutest little fairy princess I have ever seen in my whole entire life!â She crouched slightly, her other hand reaching out to pinch the soft, rosy cheeks smiling up at her, a string of sugary compliments spilling out of her mouth like she just couldnât help it. âAnd what brings you here today, sugarplum?â Penelope asked.
With a big, toothy grin the little girl raised her arms up in the air, wand and gift bag swinging wildly as she happily explained âitâs daddyâs birthday!â Across the room, JJ raised a hand to her heart like the cuteness was just all too much.
Lowering her arms back to her side, you watched as she took in the rest of the room, searching for her father only to find he wasnât there. An ache spread through your chest as her bottom lip jutted out in a sad pout, tears filling her previously excited eyes as her breath quickened and a soft but heartbroken whimper left her lips. Her grip tightened on the handle of the gift bag as she looked between you and Penelope as if begging someone to find him for her until she couldnât hold back any longer and a tear rolled down her face, her nose scrunched as she sniffled. Instantly, you were at her side, rubbing her back as Penelope tried to reassure her that her father had just left the room and that heâd be back in a wave of her wand (which was now in your hands after it had dramatically cluttered to the floor).
Right on cue, you heard footsteps behind you and turned to see Spencer walking into the room and a sigh of relief escaped you, replacing your worried expression with one of love as you took in your husbandâs face. Turning back to your daughter, you had an idea.
âHey, honey, why donât we use our fairy magic to make him appear, huh?â You suggested, placing the wand back in her hand.
âOoh, that is a fabulous idea!â Penelope clapped her hands together, the bracelets on her wrists jingling as she spoke.
Wiping tears away with her sleeve, your daughter peered up at you with wide, wet eyes before croaking out a whispery âokayâ, her pigtails bouncing as she nodded.
Catching on to your idea, Spencer stood still behind you both, careful not to make a sound and ruin his little girlâs magic spell. A dopey smile stretched over his face as he watched her gingerly wave her wand in the air, squeezing her eyes shut before you spun her around face him. Joyful anticipation bubbled within him as he waited for her to open her eyes again, eager to hold her in his arms and pepper her forehead with kisses until she forgot why she was ever upset.
âDaddy! It worked!â She exclaimed, jumping in the air as high as her little legs would let her before running to meet his open arms, falling into them as he lifted her in the air and held her close.
âWoah, that was amazing!â He pressed a kiss to her temple. âYouâre going to have to teach me that one, princess.â
Laughing softly, you followed the two of them to his desk and perched on the edge of the table as he sat in his chair, propping your daughter up carefully on his knee, one hand steady on her back.
âAnd to what do I owe this honour, your majesty?â Spencer asked in an exaggerated voice, fixing the tiara that had begun to slip down her head.
âYou have to have your princess-fairy birthday party, duh.â You scoffed jokingly, gesturing to the fairy wings on her back and earning a righteous nod of agreement from her.
âOh, of courseâ Spencer nodded along with her as if expressing his foolishness at having forgotten the obvious tradition of a princess-fairy birthday party. He fiddled with the bottom of her jeans, overwhelmed with adoration for the child before him, for his child, dumbfounded and wondering what he did to deserve this perfect, sweet life you had given him. The Spencer of many years ago would never have even allowed himself to dream of this bliss, let alone convince himself he was deserving of it. Yet here he sat in a haze of happiness, gazing with admiration at the mismatched socks much like his own swinging over his lap, and at the cherubic face that mirrored his staring back up at him in awe as if he had hung the very stars in the sky- but how could he have when they were twinkling back at him from those angel eyes of hers? Part of him felt guilty for being the reason they were filled with tears just moments ago, but a perhaps selfish part of him felt eternally grateful for having someone in his life who loved him enough to miss him.
âWait!â He was snapped out of his trance by a sugary, delicate voice and he hummed in response as he watched with curious eyes as his daughter giggled to herself and dipped a hand into the gift bag. âClose your eyes, daddy.â She commanded with girlish glee, and who was he to refuse? Soon after, he felt her shift on his knee, her breath against his neck as she reached up, placing something on his head before falling back down, clapping and laughing and the sound was like music to his ears. Opening his eyes, Spencer furrowed his brows at her inquisitively, loving how she always managed to surprise him. You placed a hand over your mouth to hide your grin as you watched his hands find the matching silver tiara atop his curls. He let out a loud laugh, attempting to pull it off of his head to get a closer look before he was interrupted by her protests, pushing it back into his hair with a proud smile.
Out of the corner of his eye, Spencer spotted his coworkers chuckling amongst themselves, eyebrows raised as they exchanged amused glances with one another but he didnât care, he would don the whole damn princess attire without a second thought if it made his little girl happy.
Remembering your reason for visiting in the first place, you gently nudged your daughterâs shoulder, pointing towards the gift bag still in her hand. Her eyes widened and she whispered a happy âoh, yes!â
âHappy birthday!â She shouted as loud as her slight voice could, holding the sparkly bag out to her dad, with a little too much enthusiasm as some of the paper hiding the gift spilled over the top of it.
Feigning surprise, Spencerâs eyes widened too as he took the bag from her hands, pressing another kiss to her temple with a deliberate muah sound that made her giggle. âOh, thank you so much, sweetheart!â He said, taking the small wrapped parcel out, grinning as he spotted the Disney princess paper he knew she had picked out herself. His brows furrowed again and a look of mock seriousness took over him as he held the present to his ear, shaking it and throwing out nonsensical guesses as to what was inside, earning more delighted giggles.
âOpen it!â The little princess beamed, catching her breath and shaking her dadâs arm in both impatience and excitement on his behalf.
âOkay, okay!â Spencer resigned and carefully unwrapped it, making sure not to rip the paper that had been chosen for him.
Once enough paper had been removed and he could see into the parcel, his gaze softened and his breath caught in his throat, replaced by a lump as the faint stinging of tears made themselves known in his eyes. He traced the side of the pink wooden frame with his finger, letting his daughter pull the rest of the paper away to reveal the full drawing encased within it. It was a picture of the two of them together, as detailed as a drawing by a child could be but to Spencer it was the most breathtaking piece of art he had ever seen. In his life heâd visited countless museums, studied an unimaginable amount of books filled with the most famous paintings in the world, but nothing could compare to what sat in his hands. Exhaling finally, his eyes shifted between her and the drawing before him, a pang in his chest as he imagined her leaning over the table, tongue sticking out and eyes narrowed in concentration as she crafted it just for him, and he wondered how many drawings she went through before she was happy with the result, holding the paper up in the air before her in the way she always did when she was proud of herself and he thought of how hard it mustâve been for her not to come running to show him immediately as she was so accustomed to- after all he was her number one fan and she knew this.
âThank you so much, honey, I-â He paused to clear his throat, aware of how his voice was about to crack. You scooted closer towards him on the edge of his desk, reaching over to put a hand on his shoulder, rubbing your thumb in soothing circles. âItâs perfect, thank you so much.â Spencer chuckled at himself, taken aback by how easily such a tiny child always managed to render him speechless.
âDo you like it?â She asked, hands clasped together in her lap.
Spencer reached over to display it on his desk immediately, making sure the whole room could see it, before turning back and wrapping his arms around her to pull her in as close as possible.
âI love it. I love you so much, princess.â His voice was quiet as he kissed her head, his eyes meeting yours and you smiled at one another, wordlessly conveying every overwhelmingly love stricken emotion between you with a simple look.
âDaddy, youâre crushing my wings!â The little girl pouted, gently pushing away from him though unable to hide the joy in her voice.
âIâm sorry, baby.â Spencer reluctantly loosened his grip, straightening out the shiny fabric where it had crinkled.
At that moment, Emily appeared from her office, unaware of what had been going on in the bullpen, and Spencer raised his eyebrows at you with a mischievous smile before turning to face your daughter again.
âHey, why donât go you work some of your fairy magic on my boss to let us leave early and get some ice cream, huh?â He spoke in a hushed voice like it was a secret mission, making you laugh at his theatrics.
Looking suddenly very serious (because after all birthday ice cream is a very serious matter), the little fairy nodded, silently pushing off of Spencerâs lap and grabbing her wand before running off after Emily.
After a moment, the two of you stood and Spencer sighed contently as he stepped towards you and wrapped you in a tight hug, pressing his cheek against your hair.
âI think sheâs the best gift anyone has ever given me.â

Chapter 35: All That Mattered

Pairing: Paige Bueckers Ă Reader
Fandom: UConn Womenâs Basketball
Rating: General Audience
Warnings: rude fans, slice of life⌠I think thatâs all
Summary: life of your average college student and team photographer whoâs got a promise ring now
Welcome to the chapter 35 of Through The Lens. I hope you all enjoy and there is more to come...stay tuned my loveies!! đđđ¸
The late-night glow of my laptop screen illuminated my face as I clicked through the latest batch of photos, fingers moving on autopilot as I adjusted lighting, sharpened details, and cropped shots that captured the best moments from our last practice. The bus ride to Chicago was long, and while most of the team was either asleep, watching movies, or locked into their headphones, I was trying to balance my duties as the team photographer and a student.
Kaitlyn nudged me from the seat next to mine, peeking over my screen. âYouâve been staring at that photo for ten minutes. Either itâs a masterpiece or you need to blink.â
I let out a breathy laugh, rubbing my eyes before returning to my editing. âItâs the shot of Paigeâs behind-the-back pass to KK. The lighting in the gym was garbage, from the angle I took it, so Iâm trying to fix it.â
Kaitlyn leaned back into her seat. âYouâre the best photographer in the country, Y/N. That photo probably already looks amazing.â
I smirked, glancing over at her. âFlattery will not make me do your writing assignment for you.â
She gasped dramatically. âI would never!â
âUh-huh,â I hummed before saving my progress and finally shutting my laptop. âYou shouldâve asked Ice. She loves writing about communication strategies.â
Kaitlyn rolled her eyes. âAnd yet, here I am, suffering in silence.â
Before I could respond, Paige leaned over the seat from behind me, resting her chin on my shoulder. âYouâve been working since we got on this bus. How about a break?â
I sighed, closing my notes. âYouâre right. But if I fail this discussion post, Iâm blaming you.â
She chuckled, kissing my cheek. âIâll make it up to you.â
Kaitlyn made a fake gagging noise, which only earned her a flick on the arm from me.
By the time we got to the hotel, room assignments were handed out. I wasnât surprised when I saw Iâd been paired with Kaitlyn and AllieâCoach usually let us group up based on friendships and study habits, but not this trip something about being locked in for the game, and honestly the three of us made a good mix of chaos and productivity.
What I wasnât surprised about, however, was Paigeâs attempt to change that.
She pulled Kaitlyn and Allie aside while I was grabbing my bags, whispering something to them that had both of them snickering. When I walked over, Allie just patted my shoulder and said, âYour girlfriendâs real persuasive, but I like my bed too much to switch.â
I raised a brow, turning to Paige. âReally?â
Paige gave me her best innocent look. âWhat? I just thought we could spend a little more time together.â
I nudged her playfully. âYou act like we donât see each other all the time.â
âYeah, but itâs different.â
Kaitlyn clapped Paige on the back. âSorry, Bueckers. We got dibs.â
Paige sighed dramatically, sending me one last pleading look before grabbing her own room key. âFine. But donât be surprised if I âaccidentallyâ show up at your door.â
After dropping my things in the hotel room I was sharing with Kaitlyn and Allie, I pulled out my laptop and notebooks, sighing as I got comfortable on the bed. KK plopped down next to me, already opening her own notes.
âYouâd think theyâd give us a break with all the travel,â she muttered, scrolling through the assignment weâd been putting off.
I snorted. âYeah, but they donât care about our suffering.â
We worked quietly for a bit, occasionally whispering complaints or exchanging confused looks when one of the problems didnât make sense. I was mid-sentence, typing out an answer, when the door creaked open.
Paige.
She leaned against the doorframe, her hood pulled up, looking way too pleased with herself.
KK barely glanced up. âCalled it.â
I rolled my eyes. âYou really couldnât last one night?â
Paige ignored the question and stepped inside, holding up a bottle of melatonin gummies with a smirk. âTook two of these. No way Iâm making it back to my room.â
Kaitlyn groaned from her bed, tossing a pillow at Paigeâs face. âBro, really?â
Paige caught it easily, tossing it onto the bed I was sitting on before crawling under the covers without a second thought. âGoodnight.â
I blinked. âPaige, thatâsââ
Too late. She was already out.
Kaitlyn sighed, rubbing her temples. âGuess Iâm sleeping with Allie.â
KK cackled. âBueckers really got yâall in a hostage situation.â
I just shook my head, nudging Paigeâs shoulder. âYouâre lucky youâre cute.â
She hummed in response but didnât move.
Kk and I work on our assignments for another half hour before calling quits. Kk went back to her room as shoved Paige over some and went to sleep.
It was still dark outside when I woke up to pee, feeling Paige shift beside me. The alarm hadnât even gone off yet, which meant we had a good amount of time before practice. I sat up, rubbing my eyes before nudging her.
âPaige,â I whispered.
She groaned, burying her face in the pillow. âNo. I donât wanna.â
I sighed, pulling the blanket off her. âYes. You gotta. Now, get up and go to your room before you end up rushing to get ready.â
She peeked one eye open, frowning. âYouâre kicking me out?â
âYes, Iâm saving you from yourself.â
With a dramatic sigh, she rolled onto her back, blinking at the ceiling before finally sitting up. âFine. But I better get my pre-practice kiss later.â
I grinned. âYeah, yeah. Whatever makes your lil heart happy.â
She dragged herself to the door, still half-asleep as she trudged back to her room. I shook my head, amused, before flopping back down for a few more minutes of sleep.
By the time everyone was up and moving, Paige was fully awake and back to her usual selfâclinging to me every chance she got, making up for the time I âstoleâ by kicking her out earlier.
As we got onto the bus for practice, she sat beside me, looping an arm around my waist.
âSee?â she murmured. âIf youâd just let me stay, I wouldnât be this clingy.â
KK snorted from the seat in front of us. âThatâs a lie, and you know it.â
I laughed, leaning into Paigeâs side. âYeah, but I like her like this.â
Paige smirked. âTold you.â
Every thing at practice and shootaround was some what smooth besides Geno yelling once in a while about them doing something he has stated not to do while drawing the play in action.
At some point kk had a bright idea of me shooting a half court shot. I could see it cooking in her brain after I had thrown the ball back to Azzi after she shot it a little to far and landing into my lap.
âOh⌠my sweetâŚsweet Y/N, I dare you to hit a half-court shot.â
I snorted. âKK, Iâm not a hooper. Iâm..Iâm just a photographer. Not a hooper. I take pictures of hoopers.â
She shrugged. âSo? Just try it. Please for lil ole meee.â
I glanced at the rest of the team, who were all watching now, some of them already recording on their phones. Paige crossed her arms, smirking like she already knew what was about to happen.
âFine,â I sighed, grabbing a ball. âBut donât get your hopes up.â
I lined up at half-court, took a deep breath, and let the ball fly.
Surprisingly nothing but net. On the first try at that.
The entire gym erupted.
KK ran in circles, screaming, while Ice fell to the floor laughing. Paige was grinning like an idiot, and even Coach and every one else looked mildly impressed.
KK immediately posting the video with the caption:
âShe secretly a baller..â
I rolled my eyes as my notifications blew up. âYou just started something dangerous.â
KK grinned. âOh, I know.â
The energy in the gym still buzzed from my half-court miracle shot as we returned to the hotel, my phone vibrating nonstop from KKâs Instagram story and TikTok post. Paige had been smirking at me the entire bus ride back, clearly enjoying the chaos KK had unleashed.
Once we stepped into the lobby, I barely had a chance to breathe before Paige grabbed my wrist and started pulling me toward the elevator.
âLetâs go,â she said, a little too smug.
I raised an eyebrow. âGo where?â
âMy room.â
âAnd what makes you think Iâm just gonnaâ
âBecause I miss you,â she cut me off, squeezing my fingers. âAnd you love me.â
My face warmed, but I let her drag me along, ignoring the knowing looks from the rest of the team. Paigeâs room was on a different floor than mine, so when we got there, Yanna and Sarah barely looked up, already sprawled out on their beds watching Netflix.
Paige immediately made herself comfortable, flopping onto her bed and patting the spot next to her. âCome here.â
I rolled my eyes but still crawled in beside her, letting her wrap an arm around my waist as she scrolled through the comments on KKâs post.
âOh, this oneâs my favorite,â she mused, clicking on a reply. ââShe needs to be on the team ASAP.ââ She snorted, shaking her head. âThey donât know you have no left hand.â
âExcuse me, I am actually ambidextrous,â I scoffed.
âExactly.â
I gasped, smacking her arm while she laughed, squeezing me closer in an attempt to avoid my retaliation. We stayed like that for a while, tangled together, my head tucked under her chin as she absentmindedly traced circles on my hip.
For a second, I thought weâd get to just chill like this all night.
But of course, I was wrong.
The door burst open, and before I could react, Ice grabbed my arms while KK grabbed my legs, yanking me off the bed.
âHeyââ I yelped as they carried me out of the room, ignoring Paigeâs half-hearted protests.
âSheâs ours for a bit,â Ice called over her shoulder.
I barely managed to twist my head back to see Paige sitting up, unimpressed. âWhatever. Bring her back in one piece.â
They hauled me into Azziâs room, where she sat on the floor, arms crossed. Her hair was a mess, completely undone from the braids sheâd had before we came to Chicago.
âJanaâs already knocked out,â she sighed. âAnd I need my braids redone.â
I blinked. âAnd this involves me becauseâŚ?â
âYouâre the best at them, besides Kayla of course.â
I groaned but sat down behind her, parting her hair with my fingers. âYâall really got me working extra jobs on this team.â
Azzi grinned. âThatâs why we love you.â
As I started on her braids, my phone rang. I glanced over at the screen, seeing Paigeâs name flashing. Before I could even reach for it, Azzi grabbed my phone and answered.
âHi, Paigey Paige,â she sang, flipping the camera to show me working on her hair.
Paige groaned dramatically through the phone. âOh, so this is where you are?â
âSheâs busy,â Azzi teased.
I rolled my eyes, tying off the braid Iâd finished. âPaige, take the melatonin gummies and go to bed. If not, no pre-game kisses before we get off the bus tomorrow.â
There was a beat of silence.
ââŚYouâre evil.â
I grinned. âGoodnight, Paige.â
She huffed but didnât argue. âGoodnight, baby.â
The call ended, and Azzi smirked over her shoulder. âWhipped.â
I ignored her.
At some ungodly hour, I woke up to the feeling of someone climbing into my bed. I groaned, barely cracking an eye open before I was engulfed in warmth.
Paige.
She buried her face in my neck, arms tight around my waist. âYou neglected me,â she muttered, voice thick with sleep.
I sighed, running my fingers through her hair. âI was literally in the same hotel as you.â
âDoesnât count.â
âWhatever remind me to room with anyone who wonât let you in so early in the morning, a girl needs beauty sleep.â
âOh youâre already beautiful, baby.â
Kaitlyn coming back in from the gym, âActually both of you are disgustingly disgusting. By the way you got an hour and thirty before we have to leave.â
I laughed softly, letting her cling to me for a few more minutes before we had to get up.
On the bus ride to the game, Paige was extra cutesy, refusing to let go of my hand. Every few minutes, sheâd squeeze it, press lazy kisses to my knuckles, or play with my fingers.
âYou act like weâre not about to spend the whole game together,â I teased, adjusting the strap on my camera bag.
âYeah, but youâll be working,â she pouted. âI have to get my time in now.â
KK, sitting across from us, gagged. âYâall are so annoying.â
Paige just smirked, pulling me closer.
By the time we got off the bus at the arena, I was already in game mode, adjusting my camera settings. Paige, on the other hand, had grabbed both my camera equipment and her bag, carrying them like it was nothing.
âBabe, I canââ
âNope,â she said simply. âFocus on your job.â
I sighed but didnât argue, appreciating the gesture.
As we walked toward the tunnel, I felt the familiar weight of my main camera strap, but something was missing. My heart sank.
âMy backup camera,â I muttered.
Ayanna, walking beside me, turned. âWhat?â
âI left my backup on the bus.â
Morgan, overhearing, sighed. âCome on, letâs go.â
The three of us turned back, but as we neared the bus, I caught murmurs from a few DePaul fans lingering outside.
âShe thinks sheâs engaged or something with that ring.â
âI bet Bueckers gave it to her just to keep her quiet.â
I instinctively curled my fingers, my thumb brushing over the silver band. It wasnât the first time Iâd heard something like that, but it still stung.
Ayanna and Morgan tensed beside me, but I quickly shook my head, giving them a warning glance. âDonât.â
Ayanna clenched her jaw. âTheyâre talking about you likeââ
âI know,â I interrupted softly. âBut there are cameras everywhere. Letâs just get my camera and go.â
They exchanged glances but ultimately followed my lead, retrieving my back up camera before heading back inside. I didnât say anything, but I could tell they were both still fuming.
Just another game. Another moment to capture.
And another day where, ring or not, Paige Bueckers made it clear exactly who I belonged to.
Despite the extra noise surrounding the game, we (they) handled business, securing an 84-58 win. As we walked back to the bus, still riding the high of victory, Sarah and Ice couldnât resist teasing me about my promise ring.
âY/N wears that thing like itâs a championship ring,â Sarah joked, nudging Ice.
Ice snickered. âPlease, she probably kisses it goodnight.â
I rolled my eyes. âYouâre both hilarious.â
But, unfortunately, not everyone found it funny.
A group of fansâboth UConn and DePaulâlingered near the tunnel, and as soon as they overheard Sarah and Ice, the murmurs started again.
âSheâs way too obsessed with that thing.â
âPaige probably regrets giving it to her.â
âShe acts like theyâre married already.â
Ice took a sharp breath, about to fire something back, but I grabbed her wrist, shaking my head. âLet it go.â
Sarah frowned. âButââ
âLet it go,â I repeated, glancing at the phones already recording.
It wasnât worth it. I knew what I had with Paige. I didnât need validation from strangers.
Still, as we got on the bus, I couldnât stop my fingers from tracing the ring, grounding myself in the quiet reminder that, no matter what anyone said, it was real.
Paige slid into the seat beside me, resting her hand on my knee. âYou okay?â
I exhaled, leaning into her. âYeah. Just⌠people talk.â
She squeezed my hand. âThey always will. But that ring? It means something. We mean something. Hell we meant something long before either of us knew it.â
I looked down at our intertwined fingers, a soft smile finally breaking through. âYeah. We do. We did.â
And that was all that mattered.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â

a team. l Joel Miller
before Jackson
Summary: you finally made it to Jackson
Warnings: angst, tears, Tommy and Maria, Ellie is here too, some swearing, guns, Joel is an asshole, some fluff at the end
A/N: @underneath-the-sky-again and I were talking about what happened when Reader and Joel got to Jackson. is this a good answer?
your feedback is very important to me and I thank you for all the reblogs, comments and likes. đ¤ sorry for all the mistakes
short stories from life. [masterlist]
"Joel! Ellie!"
When you were surrounded by people on horses, you were sure that this was the end for you. You were so close to Jackson that you couldn't believe that fate could be so capricious. You saw Joel grab Ellie by the arm, trying to pull her away, but escape was impossible. Not this time...
Suddenly, someone shouted your name. You raised your head and looked around. You knew this man. He was from Jackson. You were safe.
Joel never fully trusted anyone, not in these times. Even though you were talking to that guy who had just pointed a gun at you, Joel kept an eye on you the whole time. He wasn't convinced of your safety until he saw Tommy.
When the younger Miller's eyes landed on you, he beamed. "Good to see you! Thanks for bringing them here." he said, taking you in his arms and hugging you tightly "I was wondering when you'd show up."
"We bumped into each other a long way from here." you replied "I thought they could use a guide. Damn, I wouldn't have guessed you were brothers!"
"Yeah!" Tommy laughed, "I inherited all the personal charm."
"And the extroversion." you chuckled.
Tommy took you to a warm place and you were given a meal. You didn't want to disturb Joel and Tommy, so you sat down further away. It took you longer than you planned to get back to Jackson, but you finally made it here. However, your happiness was covered by a black cloud that told you one thing - it was time to part ways.
All you talked about was getting to this place, Joel found his brother, Ellie was safe, and you... You were going to be alone again.
"Are you coming with us?" Ellie called when Tommy and Maria wanted to show them the empty house they were going to stay in.
"I'm not sure." You replied.
Maria smiled at you, stroking her visible belly. "Your old room is free. You can stay there." You nodded, thanking her quietly.
Ellie frowned and looked at Joel. "She won't be living with us?" she asked.
"It's not up to me, kid." He replied, but you noticed that he threw a quick glance your way.
âBut she belongs to us. Weâve been through so much together.â She walked over to you, grabbing your hand. âYouâre coming with us. If need be, Iâll give you my bed.â
"Ellie..." You sighed, unable to hide your emotion. "I don't want to bother you. You and Joel were supposed to get to Jackson. We made it."
Maria looked from you to the girl, finally speaking. "Her room is really comfortable and warm. You'll see each other around town. Unless she runs away again."
Someone cleared their throat, and you all looked over at Joel. He had already put on his jacket and was standing by the door, clearly tired. âEllieâs right, you should move in with us. If you want.â
"What do you mean? We've barely arrived and we're already leaving?" you looked at Joel not understanding a word.
You managed to sleep for a few hours and eat another meal. You took a bath and felt like a new person, and in the meantime Miller told you that he was going somewhere again. After coming back from Tommy's, he seemed more depressed to you, as if a great burden had fallen on his shoulders again. You, on the other hand, were confused.
"Ellie is important." he finally spoke.
You folded your arms across your chest. "Of course she is. But what does that have to do with her?"
"You won't understand."
"Then explain it to me!" you snorted. "If I have to go with you, I want to know."
Something in his gaze sent a cold shiver down your spine. You understood it without words. The decision had been made and you were not to be a part of it.
"You've got to be kidding..." you hissed.
"Just me and Ellie." Joel lowered his gaze, not ready to look you in the eye. You had done so much for her, risked so much, and now he was leaving you alone. For your safety, but he couldn't tell you about it. He couldn't tell you anything, even though he wanted to.
When he heard your voice again, it was trembling and full of suppressed emotions. "We're a team. We're in this together. All this way here, I..."
"It's always been just me and Ellie. You're staying."
It was like a slap in the face. He saw your eyes widen, glistening with tears. He knew you would give anything for Ellie, even your own life. He also knew that if he asked you to go with him, you would do it without hesitation. But you had to stay in Jackson. You were safer here than with them.
"Listen..." he started, but he saw you raise a hand, stopping him from saying anything else.
"You've said enough, Joel."
He hadn't felt as alone as he did at that moment in a long time.
The weeks dragged on incredibly. To occupy your time, you began patrolling the area, but your thoughts kept returning to Joel and Ellie.
Your farewell wasn't one of tenderness and joy. As you held Ellie in your arms, you begged her to come back to you safe and sound. She didn't understand why you couldn't go with them either, but Joel didn't explain much to anyone.
Joel. His furtive glances at you were full of pain and remorse, but you knew that didnât mean heâd changed his mind. Even before he left, he heard your quiet voice, barely above a whisper. âTake care of yourself, Joel.â
âWill you be here when we get back?â he asked before he could stop himself.
That was what he feared most. That you would leave again, that you would disappear over the horizon and he would never see you again. How was it possible that he needed you so much?
"If you want me to be."
He nodded. He couldn't answer louder.
"You're still waiting for them. Do you think they'll come back?"
You looked at Stephen, who shifted in his saddle and reached for a canteen of water.
"I hope so." You replied.
"We're all waiting for someone, darling." You smiled and looked at the man.
"And what are you waiting for, Stephen?"
"Until my fucking leg stops hurting. I think it's going to rain, it always hurts like that when it rains."
You've been circling the area since morning, your patrol slowly coming to an end. One last look at the horizon, one last squint, because maybe you'll be able to see something more.
"Is that a fucking car?"
You turned around as if on command and saw it too. A car was slowly driving down the dirt road in your direction. You reached for your gun instinctively, the horses nervously pawing the ground with their hooves. Only when someone started waving at you from the passenger seat did you realize who it was.
"Ellie! It's them, Stephen!" you called out and hit the horse's sides with your heels, forcing it to gallop.
The car stopped and you jumped down, running towards it. Ellie almost fell out of the vehicle and threw herself into your arms. "Are you okay? Are you okay?" you asked, hugging her tightly, kissing her forehead and ruffling her hair.
"I'm okay! Hey!" she groaned, but giggled "I missed you so damn much!"
"I missed you too! Jesus, I was about to look for you myself." You pushed the girl to arms length and looked at her closely "Are you sure you're okay? Should I take you to the clinic?"
"Relax!" Ellie chuckled.
The slam of the door closing caught your attention. You recognized him immediately, although he seemed somehow changed, as if the burden he took with him from Jackson hadn't left him at all.
"Hi." Joel greeted you.
He didn't expect that. You let go of Ellie and after a moment you threw your arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. Hesitantly, but with relief, Joel embraced you, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck.
They were home.

the-name-is-hoggle
Hoggle cringes slightly as the red head actually calls him a "dead caveâ. Wow. No matter how far he was from his childhood home, the more things did not change.
This feeling increased as the other dwarves approached, practically closing in around him and the somewhat clueless Mars - oft. He suddenly remembered she would definitely be super lost about what was going on - and made their opinions known. At least it looked like more were trying for the common tongue instead of Khudzul? Though that arguably just meant that Mars could be dragged into the discussion as well.
âReally, itâs nothinâ ta make a scene over. The apology is already more than appreciatedâŚ.â
Of course being in the Summer Queenâs good graces really seemed to pull at the dwarves want to ârightâ things for Hoggle. Ugh. He rather preferred when no one thought twice about the words thrown his way. It was weird for anyone to careâŚ.
It was with relief - and a little trepidation - when Hoggle heard none other than Sir Didymus approaching them. He, Dumpling, and Yumika being led by Hickory over to where the Spring Prince and his bard stood. As soon as the knight saw his friends , Didymus hailed to them. Waving his staff about to get their attention while they were still a ways away.
âSir Hoggle! My Lady Mars! There you two are! We knew you would return unharmed!â
And off the little fox-terrier creature bounced, making his way through the crowd of dwarves with some polite exclamations of âPardon Me!, "Coming through!â and so forth. Both in common tongue and Khudzul, as a matter of fact. Which took Hoggle by surprise, he had no idea Didymus knew any at all!
What the -?!
âMy, my! And new attire as well! I must say, a much better fit for the type of quest we are on at least!â
He grins as he finally reaches the dwarf and Urru, clapping Hoggle on the shoulder before grinning up at Mars. The smile going a bit slanted as he spoke,
âWe spent a rousing night with Hickory playing Scrabble! Lady Yumika is still in a huff about how well she did at the game, but for a first time player it was not bad at all! You two seemed to have had a much more interesting night, yes?â
He turned to regard the redhead, their grandparent, and the rest of the assembled dwarves with bright curiosity.
âWhat is going on?â
Hoggled sighs lightly. Explaining for the whole group now.
âShort answer: our red headed friend over here commented on my lack of beard yesterday. â
And other things.
âTheir grandparent caught wind of this and was unhappy. A beardless dwarf means someone in mourning in older circles so they thought Iâd been highly insulted and wanted to make amends. I wasnât. I appreciate the apology I got anywayâŚItâs fine.â
Didymus hums lightly at this before commenting idly,
ââŚI admit I have wondered if you shaved everydayâŚâ
Another sigh from Hoggle.
âNo, Didymus. Iâm just like this.â
adara-of-the-flame
Not for the first time in her life, Mars found herself wading around in a sea of short people. She had no problem with this. When you're seven feet tall, and have generally been on the tall side all of one's life, it's a useful, addaptive strategy to learn to look down and make sure you're not stepping on anyone.
...Or, sitting on anyone, since no sooner had Hoggle dryly confessed to always being different, then the half-Urru promptly folded one long leg over the other and sat cross-legged on the ground next to the dwarf. They still weren't eye-level. Close enough, though.
"You know, it's not so bad being different. Beleive it not, I'm not normal, either." She grinned, brushing some long hair behind an inhuman ear. "And, I've had a lot of people tell me it's not okay for someone to have four arms, but I don't let it bother me. It has it's advantages. Just like having no beard." Were the other Dwarves still arguing? It's almost like the whole, hairy mob had forgotten Hoggle, and thus why they were arguing to begin with.
"I mean, it's really hot here, right?" Mars continued. "Having a beard and all that hair would just make you overheated and sweaty. Not being hairy is practical; it's cooler. And, your hair doesn't get stuck on trees, and branches, and stuff." How her literal yards of hair never got stuck or tangled itself was anyone's guess. Mars always said it had something to do with the conditioner she used. "And, I think you look good either way, beard or no beard."
Was it just her, or were the other people besides she and Hoggle suddenly shorter than they were a moment before?
...And, getting shorter!
Mars looked down. The ground at her feet had been replaced with a leaf and petals seat for the two of them, a large stem rising the pair up from below. "...Are we on a flower? Hoggle, are you doing this?"
"No, but by the time I'm done with him, he should be able to do even more." The pair continued to rise until they were eye to enormous eye with Selva Roja. "Last Dwarf on Their Feet doesn't start till sundown. Until then, you're mine for Spring Training, Little Prince."
âI donât think Iâll ever get used to the stench of this terrible blogâŚbleck!â

whatâs your deal? pt. 7
pairing. childhood bsfÂĄrafe && reader
content. fluff
summary. just a cute fluff chapter of you and rafe getting used to being together (enzo will be dealt with in the next part, just give them this cutesie moment)
SERIES MASTERLIST
you and rafe had spent all day together. it was niceâ things werenât back to normal, they were better. you and rafe were currently curled up on the couchâ it was about 8pm, but your dad requested you donât go out too late tonight because of his âfamily plansâ for tomorrow. you didnât mind, and you didnât think rafe did either. you had turned on some movie that was actually interestingâ not to rafe though. all he could do was look at you, his right arm slung around you while his left hand played with the hem of your shorts.
sometimes his right hand would aimlessly explore your hair, running his fingers through your scalp. it felt niceâ not only did you have your best friend back, but now it was something different. rafe just seemed⌠happierâ like a weight had been lifted. you werenât sure how long he had felt the way he did, butâ sitting here, right now, curled into his chest while his fingers roamed all over youâ you were glad he had confessed. you never expected this, but now that it was here, you couldnât imagine it being any other way.
âyâwanna do somethinâ fun?,â rafeâs soft voice cut through the low hum of the tv, looking down at you.
âmy dad wanted us to stay here tonight,â you replied plainly, not taking your focus off the screen.
âi know⌠but âm jusâ really in the mood for one of those soft pretzels from the gas station down the road,â that caught your attentionâ he knew those were your favorites, and you hadnât even gotten one yet. your head snapped up to look at the mischievous smirk spreading across his face. a similar one took place on your lips because of it.
âokay fiâ,â before you could even finish, rafe was off the couch. he reached down to grab your waist, and throw you over his broad shoulders, your soft giggles filling the air.
he finally set you down near the door so you could both put on your sneakers. both of you quietly walked out the door, careful to close it softly since your dad's bedroom was nearby.
â
the walk to the gas station wasn't too longâ maybe 10 minutesâ so, you pulled out your phone, shuffling your playlist titled 'Sounds like love'.
Disco by Surf Curse poured through the speaker of your phone. rafe just looked at youâ wide smile on his face like he had never seen something more beautiful. you slipped your phone into his pocket, grabbing his hands, and beginning to move to the beat. you were walking backwards at this point, dragging rafe with you. he had no complaintsâ a genuine laugh left his lips, and you had never seen him so happy. it warmed your heart.
admire all of you
but fire burns me, too
can't stop that disco getting through
can't stop that disco wanting you
'cause there's nothing like it, locking my eyes with you
rafe held his arm up, spinning you like a dancer. your laughs were like music to his ears, and he swore life couldnât get any more perfect than this. he motioned for you to jump on his back so he could carry you the rest of the walk. songs continued to play from his pocket until you arrived. you didnât talk, just rested your head on his shoulder. your arms slung around his torso while he held you up by your thighs which were wrapped just above his hips.
you gave him quick kisses on his cheek or neck while he carried you.
âthanks for the ride, ray,â you whispered into his ear, giggling before you could finish your sentence.
âanytime, princess,â his signature smug smirk present on his face.
once you had finally made it to the gas station, rafe set you down easily, and the two of you made your way inside.
you grabbed the pretzels out of the mini heated carousel (i have no idea what theyâre called), and then made your way over to the slushie machines. you never really got to have slushies except for when you were here. you and rafe had gotten them every vacation since you were kidsâ when you were little, rafe even taught you to mix the different flavors: cherry and coca cola to make cherry coke, cherry and blue raspberry to make⌠well you werenât exactly sure, but it tasted good.
after rafe paid the cashier, you headed back outside. rafe wasnât ready to let this moment go yet. he shoved the pretzel into his mouth, handed you his slushie, and motioned for you to get back on his back.
ârafe, you canât carry me! you have a pretzel in your mouth, idiot. eat it first. then you can,â you laughed, scolding him like you were his mother.
âfine. but, if you donât get on my back do you promise to follow me?,â he had a childish look on his face, like he was genuinely expecting you to promise him.
âfollow you where?,â your brows furrowed together. you werenât even supposed to be out now, and rafe wanted to stay out even longer?
âdoesnât matter. you canât ask questions. promise?,â his hopeful face made you melt. you just couldnât say no to him.
you nodded your head, raising your arm to tell him to lead the way.
you followed without complaints. eventually he finished his pretzel, and once again, wanted you to get on his back.
âfine! fine! youâre so weird,â you laughed, holding your hands up in joking surrender before hopping onto his back. his hands cold against your thighs from the slushie cup he was previously carrying.
you were only on his back a little longer. the sun was beginning to set just as you guys had arrived at rafeâs destination.
âhere we are princess,â he said, plopping you back down on your feet. he had led you to the beginning of a forest of some sort.
âand where exactly is âhereâ?,â your puzzled expression made him chuckle slightly. he just took your hand in response, guiding you toward the path through the trees.
once you came out the other end, there was a tiny beachâ it couldnât have spanned more than 50 feet. it was clean, but obviously secluded. the sun cast a light right above the water, the pinks and oranges of the pre-sunset sky reflecting off the calm ocean.
ârayâŚ,â you began, but you didnât really know what to say. it was gorgeous.
âbeautiful innit?,â he turned toward you, big smile on his face. the sun cast a perfect glow onto the side of his face. you admired him for a moment before turning back to the water.
âyeah,â you sighed, eyes glued to the image in front of you. you had seen many sunsets before, but something about this one felt magical. rafe moved to sit on the sand, patting the spot next to him, urging you to join him. of course, you did. he wrapped his arm around you, pulling you close to him.
the two of you watched as the sun set. the hand that was slung over your shoulder placed itself on the side of your face, making you turn your head towards rafe.
âhey,â he whispered, leaning in towards you.
âhey,â you whispered back, a small smile forming on your lips.
ââm gonna kiss you now, âkay?,â he asked, but it wasnât really a questionâ more of a warning.
âmkay,â you nodded lightly. a smirk took over his face before he leaned fully into you, colliding his lips with yours. it was so strangeâ not because it actually felt weird, but because it felt natural, as if you had done this for years. as if your lips had been made for his.
he pushed a little deeper, testing how far you would let him go, exploring new territory. you let him. his tongue pushed through your lips, making contact with yours and your world stopped. you moved your hands to the sides of his face, pulling him impossibly closer before moving them to the back of his neck. your manicured nails raked lightly against his warm skin.
you eventually pulled from each other, both staring as if you couldnât believe what just happened. rafe leaned forward once more to give you a gentle kiss on your forehead.
âletâs go home, baby,â he said quietly. you just nodded in response, standing and dusting as much sand off you as you could. rafe grabbed your shoulders, forcing you to spin around so he could swipe the sand from the backside of youâ he definitely just wanted to touch your ass, but you werenât complaining.
you grabbed your phone out of rafeâs pocket, playing your music and slipping it back in his pocket before hopping on his back once again. he didnât even have to tell you this time, you just wanted to.
a soft song began to hum through the air.
spring into summer, and the winterâs gone
i try to hold on to it, but the currentâs too strong
somebody finds me in the state i am
love you like i mean it when i know i canât
you rest your head on his shoulder the same way you did on the way to the gas station, taking in his scent, the feeling of his skin against yours, the lingering sensation of his lips.
hold it against me, cool to the touch
nobody knows what itâs like to be us
somebody finds me in the shallow end
love you like i mean it just because i can
âi like this song,â rafe said unexpectedly, turning his head slightly to try and look at you.
âyeah?,â you asked, a curious smirk on your face, âitâs ours then.â
ânobody knows what itâs like to be us,â he noted to himself.
ânobody knows what itâs like to be us,â you repeated, moving your head from his shoulder to place a kiss to his cheek, and move to wrap your arms over his shoulders.
by the time the song ended, you had arrived back home.
you took your phone out of his pocket, adding the song to a new playlist.
âFeels like loveâ.

Bully Gojo with NerdReader who has to tutor him?
-> the way people eat up bully!gojo, Iâm here for it đââď¸
â ď¸: NONCON, manipulative!gojo, mean!gojo, physical abuse, drugged!reader, bondage, dacryphilia, blood (gojo wants you to scratch him till he bleeds), unprotected sex
This is fucked, so read at your own risk. I am not responsible for your media consumption.
Satoru first laid eyes on you in the library
You were staring at your laptop, eyebrows scrunched, eyes switching between the screen and the paper in front of you
Heâd seen you around before, despite the university being quite big
But hey, maybe thatâs fate calling
Actually, fate was definitely calling, because when he walked into the math centre to get some help on his homework, he wasnât expecting you to be there either
You sat alone, eyes glued to your iPad
It was unusual for Satoru to walk in a room and all eyes not being on him
So, he took the initiative and sat down next to you
Only then did you snap your head around, looking at him like, 'How dare you sit next to me?!'
But you didnât say anything, just looked up at him one time before your gaze settled back on your work
He takes his stuff out, twirling his pencil between his long fingers
He easily peers over your head and sees that youâre working on the same homework assignment he has
Perfect
âHey, are you in math 206 too?â
âUh, yeah.â
âHow are you finding the assignment?â
âItâs a little hard⌠thatâs why Iâm here.â
The conversation was awkward, you were awkward, but Satoru was never one to back down from a challenge
Now he knew where you liked to hang out
Every day, he'd show up at the math help center, and you'd work through problems together
As time went by, you were beginning to let your guard down. Obviously, you were a bit skeptical of Satoru because I mean look at him. You didnât want him to just use you for answers or as a free tutor because you let one too many people get away with using you.
You wanted to believe he was different. And it didnât help that he was so so charming.
Finals were coming up fast, the math centre was closing so you and Satoru had to find a study spot.
It was getting late, the libraries were closing and you were having difficulties finding a nice place to study
Therefore, Satoru saw it as the perfect opportunity to reel you back to his place
âI donât live too far from campus. You wanna go back to my place to study? We can get some pizza before going up.â
Satoru said it so casually, that you felt comfortable enough to accept his offer. Besides, heâs your friend right? You trust him.
He leads you back to his nice, sports car and drives back to his place. He had placed the order for the pizza online, so by the time you got there, it was done.
You knew Satoru was wealthy, just from the way he dressed. But you could have never imagined it to this extent. Because living in a penthouse in the heart of downtown, he had to be paying over 10k a month for this place.
The view was spectacular, the city lights sparkling everywhere you looked
Satoru knew his place carried a charm like him. Usually, a girl would forget about why they came over and pounce on him, no questions asked.
But you were a hard nut to crack
âYou wanna see the view from the balcony?â
âActually, can we go back to studying?â
Youâre sitting at the table, Satoru close by watching you do another math question.
He notices the increase yawning so he asks, âyou want some coffee?â
âYeah. Some coffee would be great.â Your voice soft, laced with exhaustion
Now, Satoru didnât want to resort to this, but fuck, his patience was running thin. Had it been another girl he wouldâve bed them by now and theyâd probably be on their way out.
But you either are a airhead, or you didnât see him in that way. But either way, itâs unacceptable to him.
So, his mind goes back to a pill his best friend, Suguru gave him.
When you were focused, Satoru slipped away, retrieved the pill and roofied your coffee.
When you wake up, your head is pounding, arms restrained behind your back, legs tied apart.
You turn your head in a panic and see Satoru on top, holding you in place by the neck.
He smirks when he notices youâre awake
You try to move but you canât so naturally, you begin to cry
He hushes you, hand pushing harder against your neck.
You whimper, your mind starting to focus on the pain penetrating your lower abdomen
You donât know the time, donât know how long this has been going on, or how you even got in this position
He restricted your movement, moving faster into you so all you could do is whine and squirm
âFinally awake, princess?â He grunted, dick still pounding into you
âWas beginning to think you wouldnât wake.â And he laughs. He laughs like drugging and forcing himself onto you was funny.
He pulls out, undoing your restraints and flipping you onto your back. Your legs are resting on his shoulder and heâs pushing into you again
You wanted to fight back but your arms hurt from being restrained so tightly and for so long
The most you could do is claw at his back or chest but it didnât bother him
No, instead he fucking loved it
âYeah, baby. Gonna scratch me up? Good, make me bleed.â
In return, he starts nipping all over your neck, covering it with red and purple marks.
His hands dug into your thighs, pushing it back before cumming deep inside of you
You finish unwillingly around him with a sob.
He pulls out, harshly pushing you aside
You curl up, trying to soothe yourself from his brutality but Satoru couldnât find a fuck in him to give
âPut your clothes on and get the fuck out of here.â
You donât waste any time, crawling to the floor and putting your clothes on in a hurry.
Before you could escape out of there, Satoru got up, pulling you back by your hair.
A phone was shoved in your face and on it is a video of Satoru fucking you ruthlessly
The colour drains from your face
âYou tell anyone about this, I will post this every fucking where, with your name plastered on it, do you understand?â
âWhy are you doing this?â
He pulls your head harder, âI said, do you fucking understand me?â
âY-yes. I-I wonât tell you anyone. Please, just let me go home.â
He lets go of your hair and you feel like you can finally breathe
You scurried off, thinking that this would be the end of it
But you couldnât be more wrong
Here you go, I hope it wasnât too dark. I wonât be writing a part 2 for this because itâs so similar to the other bully!gojo h.c I have.

If I Open the Door To Heaven Or Hell 6/? [Wally Clark/Reader]
Summary: Wally's reunion brings past regrets and unwelcome visitors. Word Count: 2.7k Author's Note: So, I got sick and I got depressed and it took me a little while to get here, but thank you to everyone for being so patient with me waiting on the next update!
Read On AO3 // Fic Masterlist
The aftermath of visiting your scar still weighed heavily on your mind days later. Wally had done everything in his power to help you, but you knew there was only so much he could do for you. The only person who could help you come to terms with what you suffered was you. Â
And you just werenât ready yet.Â
It didn't help that Mr. Martin had found a way to jump into a body and escape the school. Now, there was no way to know if he would ever be back or if he was going after Janet. Maddie was worried about her friends and if she would ever manage to get her body back. All of you were worried about Janet and Maddie, since Mr. Martin posed the greatest threat to both. Everyone had been trying to theorize what Mr. Martin wanted with the keys and the scars, but no one knew enough to try to fit all the puzzle pieces together yet. Â
Now, you were sitting at a table that had been set out for Wally's reunion. He was so psyched about it that you hated you were having a hard time pulling yourself out of your misery. Even though Wally had assured you over and over and showed you just how much he cared about you, you still couldn't shake the insecurity you felt every time you saw Wally and Maddie interact. It also didn't help that your mind was consumed with what happened in your scar. Â
The others had been careful around you. It wouldn't have been so weird if Rhonda hadn't been practically gentle with you. Rhonda was usually the type to not sugarcoat anything. The fact that she was trying to comfort you felt odd, but you didn't know how to tell Rhonda that she was freaking you out. She was a good friend, and you knew she would always have your back, but you didn't know how to handle a different side of her. Â
You had also managed to catch the end of an argument between Wally and Rhonda not long after you sought out the others once you were ready to leave the tech booth. Charley had pulled you aside, asking if everything was alright. Quinn had surprised you with a hug and Maddie had wondered why you went into your scar. You couldn't tell her it was because of how jealous you got seeing her with Wally, so you only shrugged your shoulders and returned the nod of solidarity Yuri aimed at you.Â
As you walked back towards Wally and Rhonda, you overheard what Rhonda was telling him. Â
"--you have any idea how that feels? She went into her scar because you ran after Maddie."Â
"I know, I know," Wally assured Rhonda. "Don't you think I feel terrible enough about that without you here busting my ass over it?"Â
Rhonda pulled the ever-present lollipop out of her mouth and pointed it at Wally. "Just think about what you're doing next time. Maybe instead of running off and playing around in the pool with another girl, you bring your girlfriend with you."Â
"Maddie and I were just blowing off steam," Wally defended himself. "I would never do anything to hurt Y/N."Â
"And yet you did," Rhonda pointed out with an arched brow. She brushed past Wally, leaving you to finally finish approaching him. Â
Wally's eyes lit up once he noticed you. "Hey, how about we get out of here, huh? I think we've earned some time just the two of us. They've had enough of us for now. I want you all to myself," he told you before he tugged you forward into a kiss. Â
It didn't take you long to realize that Rhonda's words must have struck a chord, because he was practically glued to your side after she spoke to him. Â
You thought maybe Rhonda was being a little too harsh on Wally. But once the adrenaline had faded, you found it hard to stay positive. Quinn said you were in a funk, but you just felt downright depressed. Reliving your death had been hard on you and you were having a difficult time shaking all the negative thoughts and feelings that had risen since confronting it. Â
Now, you were sitting in the library where the reunion was being held and trying to find the energy to be excited for Wally. Â
Rhonda and Quinn were off to the side, talking about something you couldn't overhear. Charley was sitting on the stairs leading up to where the DJ booth had been set up while Wally flipped through records that had been left in a crate. You didn't know where Yuri or Maddie were, but you figured they would show up eventually. Â
You listened to the others talking, not really paying enough attention to discern what they were speaking about and even managed to bring up a reluctant smile hearing Wally sass Rhonda after mentioning something about a girdle. Â
"Oh, shit!" You heard Wally exclaim, abruptly forcing you out of your thoughts as he pulled a record out of the crate. "No way," he breathed as he brought up the record to show it off. "David Bowie. Y'all! We are so back," he said before he bounded up the stairs towards the turntable. Â
You met Rhonda's gaze and caught her rolling her eyes, but you noticed the hint of a smile on her lips. Even when she was annoyed with Wally, she couldn't quite resist his infectious enthusiasm. Â
Wally put the record on, letting Bowie's 'Let's Dance' fill the room. Wally's routine was something you had grown accustomed to over the years. Usually, you joined in, finding joy in Wally's excitement and letting yourself get easily roped in to the dance. But this time, you just weren't feeling it and that only made you feel worse. Â
Still, Wally tried, pointing at you and pretending to try to reel you in, but you stayed in your seat, refusing to move. You felt a pang of guilt when you noticed his obvious disappointment, but he turned towards Charley, silently respecting your wish to be left alone. It didn't take long before Charley was going through the moves Wally had coached you all through years before, a delighted grin on his face as he danced. Â
While Wally worked through his routine, you noticed the way his attention kept straying back to you. It was like he was checking in on you and the thought brought a slight smile to your lips. Even when he was having the time of his life, he was still worried about you. Â
You were content to sit at the table, your chin propped up on your hand while you watched him dance. You werenât surprised that it was lifting your spirits to see Wally so in his element. You couldn't help but think that if he hadn't been thrown into football, then maybe he would have enjoyed being a theater kid. Â
You watched Rhonda and then Quinn join the dance. Rhonda never missed a step, but while Quinn was new to the routine, her eagerness to be part of the group more than made up for it. Â
Any sense of lingering despair was swept away when you watched the way Wally spun away from the group. He was still moving to the music, but he had deviated from his usual routine. He threw in a slide where he usually had a hip thrust and a shoulder shimmy where he would have moonwalked. He threw a smirk and a wink in your direction, and it was then you realized that this year Wally wasn't dancing for himself. Â
He was dancing for you. Â
That more than anything had you finally getting out of your seat. You caught the delighted grin on Wally's face before he reached a hand out towards you. You let yourself put your hand in his, letting out a surprised laugh when he immediately reeled you in only to spin you out again. He kept his grip on your hand tight, like he was worried you would try to leave, before he pulled you back towards him. Â
His lips met yours, the kiss turning desperate and intense within a moment. All you could do was hold on, your fingers digging into his shoulders, as Wally poured everything he had into the kiss. Â
It was fear and despair and joy and want. It swept you along with everything Wally had been trying to show you for days now. Â
It was love. Â
"Fuck," you gasped when you turned your head to the side to break the kiss. Â
You felt his smirk against the side of your face. "Later," he promised, hiding a kiss against the skin beneath your ear. Â
"That was awesome!" Quinn exclaimed, drawing your attention. "You do that every year?" She directed at Rhonda, a grin on her face. Â
"Every year," Rhonda drawled, shooting a look at Wally that was equal parts annoyed and fond. Â
"We should go again," Quinn decided, already bounding towards the DJ setup to restart the song. Â
âQuinn,â Rhonda groaned, following her like she was thinking about stopping her. Â
Later, you dressed up for Wally's big night and met him at the doors of the library. Â
"Damn," Wally sighed, looking you up and down. "How'd I get so lucky?"Â
You rolled your eyes, resisting the urge to tell him that if anyone was lucky, it was you. "Sap," you accused, because you didn't know how else to respond. Â
Wally grinned at you and held his arm out, letting you hook your hand around his elbow. "Before I forget," he said, reaching out to open the door. "We're playing wingman for Charley."Â
"Charley?" You asked, surprised that he was finally making his move. "Yuri?" You guessed, thinking of all the times Charley blushed around Yuri and how he couldn't keep his eyes off him. Â
"Yup," Wally answered, leading you into the library. "Promised not to let him embarrass himself. So, I might need your help running interference later."Â Â
"Got it," you agreed, offering him a tentative smile. Wally's dance and the promise of a date night had gone a long way towards lifting your mood, but you were still trying to shake the last vestiges of sadness that still clung to you. Â
Wally leaned over to press a kiss to your temple before he led you into the library. Â
You let Wally get you a glass of punch and watched him reunite with some of his former classmates. He looked so happy to be remembered by the class of '84 that you almost didn't realize anything was wrong at first. You had been in the middle of talking Charley up to Yuri, even though you were sure from the way Yuri looked at Charley that it was completely unnecessary. Â
It took you entirely too long to realize what the two guys were saying about Wally. Wally's crestfallen expression was enough to get you at his side. You also didn't miss the way Charley was carefully not looking at Wally. Â
"Look, it's alright," Charley told Wally when he tried to apologize. "It was forty years ago. You don't have to be sorry."Â
"But--" Wally started, before Yuri placed a hand on Charley's shoulder. Â
"How about a dance?" He asked, nodding towards the couples who had taken over the space in front of the stage. A slow song was playing and the couples were all swaying along to the melody. Â
"Okay, yeah, I'd love that," Charley answered, handing you his drink before letting Yuri lead him towards the dance floor. Â
Wally kept glancing at Charley and Yuri, as if he was worried something bad would happen. You knew that Wally had been a different person when he was alive. But the Wally you knew now wasn't anything like him. He had grown and started to accept that he didn't have to only see himself as the guy he was before he died. The fact he was obviously so torn up over his past actions was testament to that. Â
You were briefly distracted by Mr. Anderson showing up to wreak havoc on a reunion full of people who couldn't even see him. When you glanced back at Charley and Yuri, it was to see Charley putting distance between them. Â
You weren't sure why Charley looked so distressed, but when he pulled away from Yuri and walked away, you tried to find out what was wrong. Â
"Hey," you called, turning to look at Charley as he passed you. "What's wrong?"Â
"It's just...," he sighed before he shook his head and walked away. His jaw was clenched, and you noticed how tensed his shoulders were. Yuri looked just as lost as you felt when you glanced back at him. Â
Wally watched Charley leave the library. He looked worried, but he stayed rooted to the spot, even though it was obvious he wanted to go after him. Â
"Wally," you whispered, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder. Â
Wally turned to look at you. "Babe, I'm not like that anymore," he promised, gesturing towards the guys who were now commenting on the woman who was announcing something onstage. "I would never hurt Charley. I would never let anyone hurt him. I'd beat the shit out of them for laying a finger on him."Â
"I know," you assured him, letting your hand find his to hold onto. "Charley knows that too."Â
"But, I guess," Wally continued, glancing again at the guys who had brought up Wally's past. "I guess I was that guy. And that's how they remember me. I was no better than the people who hurt Charley."Â
"You've changed," you reminded him. "You're one of the best people I've ever met and that's for a reason, Wally."Â
Wally nodded his head, but he still looked like he was struggling with himself. Â
"Go find Charley," you urged him. "I think you two need to talk this out." You knew that Charley would need a friend now more than anything and Wally needed to prove to himself that he could be that friend. Â
Wally looked unsure and still didn't budge. Â
"It'll be fine," you promised him. "Trust me," you added, pressing a kiss to his cheek. Â
Wally nodded his head, offering you an unsure smile, before he left in search of Charley. Â
"You're good for him," Yuri observed. Â
You startled, glancing at him over your shoulder. "You're good for Charley," you shot back. "He just gets a little nervous. Give him time."Â
Yuri nodded his head, looking thoughtful. "I've got time," he assured you before taking Charley's drink back from you. Â
You watched Yuri take a sip of the drink. "You know if you ever hurt him, though, I'll kill you. Forget that, Wally will kill you."Â
It wasn't much of a threat when you were all already dead. But Charley was your friend and you would do anything for him. He deserved happiness and if Yuri was the one who could provide it for him, then you wanted to make sure it stuck.Â
"I know," Yuri claimed, "but he won't have to. I only want what's best for Charley."Â Â
"Good," you told him. "Keep it that way."Â Â
You were going to ask Yuri if he wanted to see how Wally and Charley were doing when your attention was caught by someone across the room. She was leaving the library, slipping out of the room with a quick look over her shoulder. Â
It took you a moment to recognize her, but when you did, you felt like the whole world had stopped. Suddenly, your hands were shaking and you felt like everything was collapsing around you. It had been years since you saw her, but you knew you would never forget that face.Â
You felt your mind race in several different directions as you found yourself rushing to follow her. Yuri called your name, but you ignored him. You didnât know why she was here, but all you could think about was figuring out the reason. You wanted her out, gone, but there wasnât much you could do about that now that you were dead.Â
As you left the library in pursuit of her, there were really only three questions you desperately needed answered on your mind.Â
Why the hell would she come back? Â
How could she show her face here after what she did? Â
And lastly, did she feel any remorse for killing you? Â
