Can you give us some Human Lore related to the Great Seven? As you mentioned how the Queen of Hearts is very strict about Humans being protected, even making a bunch of rules to protect them (So no doubt if Reader gets bullied while Riddles’ around he’ll instantly collar the perpetrators)
I’m curious as to see if there are any myths about how the other Great Seven treat or view Humans
This AU has me in a chokehold and I can’t wait for more parts! I love every part and your art of the characters is amazing!
I kinda wrote a little idea for the Righteous Judge and how he felt about Humans (You can ignore or change it if you want! Since this IS your AU)
The Righteous Judge was known for being fair towards Humans as he believed they should be treated equally, as he’d saw how Humans could not only adapt, but even help Monsters settle their differences, and they could do it all without magic
As such he made laws to protect Humans as he thought highly of Humanity being the key to improve civilization, as while they didn’t have any magic, their bonds with each other and other Monsters helped accomplish any task or threat thrown at them
He believed Humans were pure because they weren’t born with the savage instinct like many Monsters have, as he saw Humans more likely to show compassion, mercy, kindness and empathy, unlike Monsters who are more prone to use violence, aggression and pure power to get what they want
Legend has it the Righteous Judge wept in sorrow when Humanity went Extinct, as he believed Humanity could’ve helped Monsters learn how to better themselves
It’s also believed that the Righteous Judge’s son was a Human, which could explain why he was so devoted to defend and help Humans
Maybe because of this Fleur City is known for their rituals, celebrations and festivals to honor the legacy Humans left behind, to honor how the Righteous Judge strived so hard to help Humans
Sorry, my brain went ham as I’m prone to overthinking because of my Autism (I love your Autistic Works as they’re incredibly relatable, like with Floyd and his squeezes since I love extra tight hugs)
Absolutely agree for the Righteous Judge and this would no doubt translate to Rollo's own infatuation and obsession with this little Human. I would bet that if Human MC from the AU visited Fleur city during the Topsy Turvey Day, they would be automatically crowned and honored in the festival as even the Righteous Judge loved the Humans he wept so heavily for.
The Queen of Hearts was known for her love of Humans and had several Human pets that she cherished deeply. She was known to only pardon her Humans from being beheaded as they were such an endearing little species and she couldn't stay angry with her Humans for long. There are no less than 50 rules regarding the proper treatment of humans as The Queen wanted to ensure her beloved pets were kept safe no matter what. All Humans were declared as a protected species in the Queendom of Roses, and harming or abusing one was punishable by death. These laws are still in place despite Humans being extinct for centuries just in the event that a Human could possibly still be alive somewhere.
The King of Beasts doesn't have any mention of humans in any of his stories, hence why many beast men were content to treat Humans as cattle and regarded humans as a delicacy to feast upon. Over the years as Humans became more and more endangered, the Black market for Humans became more than a little cut-throat. Humans were food for so long, that when they were declared extinct, literal riots broke out and what small remaining meat sold for millions. Knock off meat was popular for a while, and Sunset Savana (and various other locations with high beastman populations) admitted to being somewhat at fault for the rapid extinction of Humans. Now there is a global ban on the buying, selling, or trading of Human artifacts/remains.
The Sea Witch's story is deeply intertwined with the presence of Humans, as it was a Human the princess wished to see and marry, leading to her making a deal with the Sea Witch. Many merfolk regard Humans as the peak standard of beauty as a result of this story and see Sirens as merfolk who have been blessed with Human blood. Since sirens look very close to Humans- minus their ever present gills and abnormal aquatic forms- sirens are believed to be the step between merfolk and Humans. Many Human-like monsters are treated with the same kind of awe by merfolk for being so close to a Human in form.
The Sorcerer of the Sands had many tricks and was very knowledgeable, so of course he knew about humans in great detail. Some stories even claim that the Sorcerer sought the council of Humans for their unusual ability to resolve conflict in warring species. Despite their lack of Magic, humans were admirable enough to be in the council of the Sorcerer and were considered to be quite wise for their continued persistence among stronger species.
The Fairest Queen- the most beautiful of all and a wickedly powerful Harpy in her own right- liked the featherless bipeds known as Humans. Though they were clumsy and sometimes pig-faced, she viewed their ambition and tenacity in high regard. Such creatures that held on so tightly to their place in the world despite the other species beating them back certainly earned the respect of the Fairest Queen.
The Thorn Fairy was known for her many boons granted to Human kind. As Humans did not posses magic, they needed all the aid they could get and the Thorn Fairy was all too eager to aid. It is said that any Human the Thorn Fairy blessed became a member of her court, if not in title than in spirit, as the Thorn fairy adored the ignoble little species despite their fragility and flaws. Though she is the spirit of nobility and power, the Thorn Fairy herself smiled kindly upon her little Humans and offered aid to them when she could.

can i please request dark reader x feysand where reader is incredibly morally grey and she will make the tough decisions for feysand and disguise them as something else so that they’re not hurt/sad about it. Reader will do anything to ensure their happiness even if it means being the bad guy, she has the whole court of nightmares in a chokehold and feysand think the court is scared of them but in reality they’re all scared of reader but won’t dare say anything bc one look from her and they’re dead.
thank you for this request!! I haven't written for Feyre in so long and this was so fun and different for me to write

Warnings: mentions of torture, depictions of blood and weapons
Eyes gleaming with feral delight, you flashed a wicked smile at the pathetic male, who lay whimpering on the floor. “Remember how gracious I have been today, Lord Thanatos, that I allowed you to keep this hand,” you remarked, voice dripping with condescension as you squeezed the already broken bones in his hand.
He let out a high-pitched scream, eyes screwed shut as he rolled onto his side. With a dark laugh, you released his hand, only to press the heel of your boot into his shoulder, turning him onto his back. “You will look at me when I am speaking to you.”
The male forced his eyes open, fear in his eyes as they beheld the blade in your hand. Your lip curled in disgust as the scent of his urine filled the air. Pathetic, how easily frightened these “powerful” males truly were. You inspected the dagger, enjoying the weight of it in your hands as you flipped the shiny - shamefully clean - weapon between your fingers.
With a sigh, you crouched down once more, using the tip of the blade to angle Thanatos’s head towards you. “What a shame it is that the same hand you used to hit your daughter, would be broken so soon after. Your High Lord and Lady weren’t sure of the proper punishment, with the tangle of stories you and Keir have weaved for us. I find it sweet that they want to be fair, to not harm you without proof of your actions.” You pressed the blade further into his skin, eyes darkening with pleasure at the drop of blood that dripped down his throat. “How unfortunate for you that I don’t care about fairness.”
Thanatos tried to speak, the words coming out a babbling mess. Rage filled you at his sorry attempts at defense. “Do not bother. I will not hear your words.” You dragged the edge of the blade along his jawline, smiling at how he trembled under your touch. “As I said, it is a pity that your hand was injured through your own clumsiness. I look forward to hearing whatever humiliating excuse you have for this injury tomorrow at Court.”
You stood, wiping the blood from your dagger on Thanatos’s tunic as you pulled away. Striding towards the door, you spared him once last glance over your shoulder, kindly granting one last warning. “When you speak to Keir and others of your incident, I advise that you keep in mind the protections that I have from your High Lord and Lady. If you cause furthers issues in this court, I will not be so gracious in the future.” With that, you disappeared from the male’s chambers, returning to your shared room where Rhys and Feyre waited.
“Hi love,” Feyre greeted, rising up from where she sat by the fire to give you a kiss. “Where have you been?”
With a soft smile, you wrapped your arms around her waist, admiring the twinkle in her blue-gray eyes, so innocent and kind. “I needed some fresh air, so I went for a walk. I couldn’t stay out too long, though. I missed you and Rhys, and it’s so scary here in Hewn City.” You shuddered, giving Feyre your best doe eyes as you played the role of frightened fawn.
“Oh, darling,” Rhys cooed as he entered the room. Pressing a kiss to your head, his thumb stroked your cheek in reassurance. “I’m sorry that you have to be here. We’ll make our appearance with you at Court tomorrow, so that everyone knows you are ours and won’t harm you. Then we can go home to Velaris.” You nodded, leaning into his touch, your muscles visibly relaxing. That seemed to satisfy them, both of them letting you go to get ready for bed.
The next day, you stood in the mirror, Feyre coming up behind you to rub your arms in a soothing motion. “You look beautiful,” she murmured, leaning down to press a kiss below your ear. Releasing a shaky breath, you nodded your thanks. You knew you looked beautiful, in your typical Night Court attire - a black, low neck dress with a high slit that allowed you to keep the dagger at your thigh hidden unless you needed access to it.
You strode through the doors, keeping your head high as you took your seat next to Rhys and Feyre on the dais. Rhys sent a wave of comfort down the bond, which only encouraged the wicked smirk you gave the group of Lords to your left. In an unspoken order, you flicked your eyes from them to your right where Rhys and Feyre sat, and the Lords bowed their heads even lower, each of them murmuring praises to their High Lord and Lady.
“I’m glad to see some semblance of respect still remains in this Court. However, this does bring forth the matter of Thanatos and his daughter. Keir, what do you have to say about the matter?” Rhysand questioned, dark power emanating through the room as he spoke. Keir stepped forward, eyes downcast as he refused to look in your direction.
“My Lord, I cannot speak as to whether Thanatos is guilty. I defer to your wise judgment, as I bring him forth for questioning.” Keir’s eyes flicked in your direction for barely a moment as he ushered Thanatos forward, the sad excuse for a male swallowing thickly as you bared your teeth at him, a promise that he would pay for that glance later.
Thanatos stepped forward, bowing before the throne with a wince. “My Lord, my Ladies,” he greeted through gritted teeth.
Rhys cocked an eyebrow in amusement, his gaze landing on Thanatos shattered hand. “My, Thanatos. What has happened there?”
The male swallowed, a sliver of wisdom shining through the cracks of his remarkably dim brain when he refused to look in your direction, instead directing his emanating fear towards Rhys and Feyre. “My Lord, I had an accident, you see - I was practicing my swordplay and the weapons rack fell on my hand.”
Feyre leaned forward, interest clear in her eyes as she scrutinized Thanatos’s words. “Why didn’t you seek a healer?”
The glare in your eyes sent a chill through the room, males and females throughout the Court trembling under your furious gaze. If this fool didn’t sell his lie, you would make certain he never again saw the light of day.
Thanatos’s entire body shook as he scrambled for an answer. “Because, my Lady... I felt as though the injury was an apt punishment for raising my hand against my daughter.”
Gasps sounded throughout the room at his confession. Feyre leaned back in her chair, looking down her nose at the male. “So you admit to hurting your daughter, and you deem your own ineptitude a suitable punishment for your wickedness?”
As Thanatos began to scramble for an excuse, Rhys waved a dismissive hand, taking away the male’s ability to speak. “You do not determine your own punishment in this Court. You will be taken to the dungeons until we determine further punishment for your crimes.” Rhys looked to the side, nodding at the spymaster. “Azriel, if you will.”
Azriel nodded, walking over to where Thanatos now kneeled on the floor. Daring to take one look at you - the violent gleam in your eyes which promised a worse fate than Azriel would deliver - and Thanatos nodded, accepting the spymaster’s hold as he was spirited away to the dungeons.
You followed Feyre and Rhys out of the throne room shortly after, returning home to Velaris. Feyre brought a blanket, wrapping you up in comfort as Rhys made hot chocolate, the both of them murmuring praises to you for how brave you were to endure the Court. You smiled, relaxing into their arms as you let them comfort you from the horrors you had just witnessed. If they only knew.

Okay-okay-okay, I really need to put out some silly thoughts from "Autocracy" IDW and sleep peacefully Of course I liked it ha-ha, it is filled with revolution, double revolution, triple revolution Autocracy spoilers, I guess?
• They call each other old-timers if they are older pffht • Firstly, help, Soundwave's kids are CRAZY, I mean I saw them fighting good against autobots but when Soundwave was running away, he was just "Go, my pokemon", and his kids were absolutely destroying everyone on his tail • OH I ABSOLUTELY LOVED all dialogues between Megatron and Orion Pax, from future I got that they were friends, so they know each other, but somehow Megatron is much better at guessing how Orion will act. Megatron thinks as a real tactician, using bots as his weapon, having a backup plan even if it required lifes of other bots. Orion, even from his origin, never seemed a person of "plan b", he improvise but he relies a lot on his comrades, they are a strong team, they are his plan b, and while this whole corruption situation was irritating him more and more, he became more violent and less considerable about proper plans, it goes as it goes. I guess that's why Megatron was underestimating him plus added the fact of how much power he got. Yeeeet~ Orion is using what Megatron did write, quotes it, and I'm sure he meant it in the right way, while Megatron's way is violent. "Criminal posing as a revolutionary and revolutionary posing as a cop" is my fav ship. He is using Orion in his plans in pretty curly and good ways ○ OKAY, a little note, but Megatron finds Starscream as very useful and trustful liege, it started amazing me from Megatron's origin where they were coming up with plans on spot without discussing. Then Sterscream really is good with his talking, responsible for many-many things and achieves them successfully. It is so surprising for me after all the jokes about them pfffht
(Megatron in his happy dreams happily holding hands with Orion and destroying autocracy together, but then he wakes up because remembers he will have to kill him then)
I'm cackling again. "Protect autobots at all cost!". Decepticons "Huh, how worthy these bots must b- "*sees Orion* "Ah, no more questions"
When you want to get your beloved you must push to the very end pfffffht
• I KNOW RODIMUS. I know him from future series and AHAHHAH OH MY EMOTIONS WHEN I SAW THAT HE WAS THE BOMBER, and played a big part in this story, the absolute opposite side of his character! I remember reading fic by @/lush-specimen where Hot Rod was helping EVERY bot in need, decepticons or autobots, taking everyone in need. AND NOW I SO MUCH SEE IT. He was another kind of revolutionary, he was the middle, oppressed kind of bots. He is a pretty young one, he lived in golden era, in alive city, now bots are dying on his eyes yet he protects and stands for them. He DIDN'T join decepticons yet he was fighting against cops. BUT he saw that maybe Orion can help since he was against government. He helped decepticons to show the truth to the ones who could change something, because he saw that it can help them, not decepticons. He isn't that funny ha-ha boy I saw in mtmte and ll. He had to burst his own "family" so that they will not become the fuel for Zeta Prime's destruction tools. Their deaths were on him. He became the leader to get out his people and did bear their deaths on his shoulders. No wonder he became a good even if silly leader in the future, he knows the price of life.
Writers: "Let's leave a hint about him being the new ruler. BUT LITTLE DID THEY KNOW WHAT HIS CHARAcTER WILL BE AHAHHAHA"
• "Till all are one". The matrix. THIS IS WHAT KEPT ME IN CHOKEHOLD AHAH. This phrase come from here, the change of Orion come from here, it all is in here. LISTEN. THA MATRIX LET THE HOLDER FEEL SPARKS. HE FELT SPARKS OUTSIDE THE PLANET. I wonder if he feels when someone's spark fades/dies, does he feel something about it or he got so used to it. I was wondering how exactly and from what point Orion changed to his serious Prime. He could NOT NOT change. The matrix gave him an ability to feel everyone, gave him an understanding of the concept of what unity of bots is. He could never become his past again because he bears this burden of lifes that he will never be able to get rid of now. But what made me sad is that Metroplex recognised him as his "old friend". He didn't call him by name of that friend. I guess it is because he had decades of such friends. They all have pretty similar ideas and characters. They get matrix and the same idea gets in their head. They become someone who already was there, real side of you erasers even if not completely. PFhegfheg. Even the name he got. He himself can't get used to it, meaning he has to get used to it like he is forced to his new self
• Prowl ~ There are earlier times and I don't see that great tactician that I used to read about him. He is a good soldier, who follows orders, he trusts Orion, he follows his orders, he isn't the one coming up with plans. He still is more groundly on the "rule" side, but he understands what is bad for bots, he listens to Orion more, he is the one who gives final orders. He ends up going against government, siding with these dissidents, even siding with decepticons to get rid of what could have destroyed them all. It's just a bit unusual for me to see him be "in team", follow, don't have his own side plan, don't be beaten up wheeeeze
• That's a bit.... sad to see them like this, knowing who Shockwave was before. And now it is this.
• Oh, they yap at each other, shipped
• Don't look, kid, parents are fighting
Okay, ahaha, I feel like I've wrote something too messy to understand or too silly to be real, my only thoughts left are described by tsche-chu-chu-che-tsche
#Autocracy idw#autocracy spoilers#I REALLY LIKED THIS PART#ALL THE SIDES#CHARACTERS#INTERACTIONS DURING BAD TIMES#Yeah it's not much about their character as everyday#But it gave so much plot to me to fill up parts in my head that were with holes#And seeing characters younger#Seeing characters in their first appearance#OH YES#Gah#I'mma pass out a bit#blabbery#tf#transformers#tf idw#transformers idw

God, That's Good
Chapter 7: Wait
Alastor tries to ease Lucifer's impatience, and Vaggie comes by for a favor.
Tags: more brooding, banter, A PROPER KISS
Before I rant about my writing wife some more, I do want to advise that once we get past this chapter, things will be getting quite a bit darker and more explicit. There's murder; there's blood; there's cannibalism; there's a little sex (not dark, but still warranting a warning I think LOL). If you know the musical/movie I'm sure you have a vague idea of what's coming. Be mindful of these things from chapter 8 onwards- I'll make sure to put specifics in the tags for each chapter but PLEASE don't read if you think these things might be triggering or upsetting to you.
Back to our regularly scheduled vibes- as always, huge thanks to @fraugwinska for helping me stick to a normal schedule and being one of my absolute best friends and most enthusiastic supporters 😍 ALSO thank you to everyone that has liked/reblogged/commented- this AU has me in a chokehold and I'm stoked that others are enjoying reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it
PSSSST: Wednesdays have even more to look forward to! If you love Alastor being a questionable hottie as much as I do, check out @hazelfoureyes with A Doe in Fall that is ALSO updating on Wednesday evenings! I promise I'm very normal about this story and Hazel's writing in general (she said, lying, being very not normal about either thing)
Act 1: Chapter 1 🥧 Chapter 2 🥧 Chapter 3 🥧 Chapter 4 🥧 Chapter 5 🥧 Chapter 6 🥧Chapter 7 🥧 Chapter 8 🥧 Chapter 9
Despite her promise to visit soon, it’s a fortnight later and the Beadle still has not come by Lucifer’s barbershop.
He would be the first to admit that he broods on it. Between customers of his now booming business, he spends hours sat in his chair staring at himself in the mirror, trying to find the remnants of the man he used to be. He watches the tendons in his hands move as he shaves the gentlemen of New Orleans, thinking that they surely were not the same hands of Damien Diggory though they remained on his body all the same. Families came and went through his door, constantly reminding him of what he had lost, what the Beadle and Adam had to pay for, making his unease at her absence grow more every day.
He sat now in his empty shop with one of his razors in hand, staring down at the blue of his eyes reflected on the blade. He felt empty, numbness creeping from the pit of his stomach to his limbs and making his whole body feel like a hollowed out shell of a person- he looked the same, sounded the same, but the substance inside him was either missing or in the process of rotting where it sat. Charlie was still out of his reach, his revenge on hiatus until the Beadle saw fit to grace his shop with her presence. Everything was at a standstill, and the lack of activity beyond shaving was making him a madman, always pacing around the upstairs, approaching the entrance to his family’s old apartment and retreating like a coward.
A creak of the floor alerts him to the door opening, three soft knocks letting him know that it’s Alastor. He can hardly look the man in the eyes these days after he had embarrassed himself that night two weeks ago, when he had tripped into Alastor’s lap and pulled him into a kiss. It was embarrassment more than anything; thinking that he had reciprocated had been nothing but a figment of Lucifer’s drunk imagination, as Alastor hadn’t mentioned it since. Sometimes his eyes will fall on the younger man while Alastor is busy doing something else, and he uses those stolen moments to learn the curves of his face, imagining the blade skimming over his cheeks if he ever gave him the chance to give him a shave.
Alastor comes behind the chair, leaning his elbows on the back above Lucifer’s shoulders. “I thought you had no customers today,” he says softly, watching Lucifer in the mirror. “What are you doing up here, hm? Plotting?” He smiles slyly, the corners of his mouth turning up and giving him a mischievous look. “Or pouting?”
“It’s been a fortnight,” he laments, snapping the razor closed and placing it on the stand beside him. “Why has she not come?” He stands from the chair and starts to pace- surely he looks like a madman, stalking between the apartment door and the sizable chest that held his spare towels and aprons, hands taking through his hair.
Alastor sighs, his smile still in place. “Oh dear, a tantrum. How unbecoming. And just when I’ve started to think you were respectable.”
Lucifer scoffs. “Come now, Alastor- you don’t think it strange that she’s not arrived yet? You’d think such an ‘esteemed member of society’ could keep to a date.” Perhaps his air quotes and exaggerated accent were a tad childish, but it still makes Alastor laugh through his admonishment. “I’m… antsy, sitting around and waiting for her. They have to pay for what they did to Lilith, to me-”
“And they will.” Alastor leaves the chair to approach him, the proximity when he finally stops making Lucifer’s heartbeat pound in his throat. “Patience is key, my good man.”
“I’ve waited for so long already,” he groans. “Was fifteen years not enough? Must I wait another ten before I’ve avenged the wrongs against us?”
“So she’s a few days past when she said she would come,” Alastor says flippantly. “Do you not think that your over-eager manner won’t scare her off? Cause her to alert the Judge?”
Lucifer says nothing, not wanting to concede that he’s correct. He keeps his eyes on his feet, that hollow feeling returning to his chest and muffling the sound of Alastor’s voice as he continues talking. What would he do if she never came? Then surely Adam would never have reason to set foot in his parlor; he would never have his vengeance, Charlie would be lost to him, Lilith would be dead with nothing to show for his avenging her-
“Lucifer.” His head jerks up, and Alastor is watching him with narrowed eyes. “Did you hear anything I just said?”
He’s sure his face flushes. “Of course I did,” he lies, “you were… shit-”
The smile returns to his face. “I was saying,” he says softly, “that perhaps you can use the time to update your bearings. Get some flowers, hang some decor on the wall- that will likely sway the Beadle’s mind as far as recommending your establishment to the Judge, if the walls are not bare as though you’ve just moved in.”
“I have just moved in,” Lucifer points out petulantly. “I’ve only just started taking customers this last fortnight, I’ve not had time for bearings as you well know.”
Alastor claps his hands together, the sound making Lucifer jump. “I’ll send Husker for a floral arrangement for you- I think it will really cheer the place up.” He glances at Lucifer, a slow drag of his eyes up and down the barber’s body that almost makes him feel shy with the heat it contains. “I was also thinking that the unknown waiting period we find ourselves in is not a wholly bad thing. Perhaps I’m old fashioned, but I find that half of the fun in a plot is making the plan itself! Especially when one has a partner.”
And to Lucifer’s surprise he steps closer, bridging the already short gap between their bodies and taking Lucifer’s hands in his own. I, for one, have also been enjoying this time simply getting to know you.”
He thinks his brain stops working, the way his mouth stammers to get out a response to that. “Oh! Well, I- I mean, I’ve also been, you know. Enjoying you.” Alastor’s head tilts in amusement, and Lucifer realizes what he’s said. “Enjoying your company, I mean! Fuck, I’m sorry-”
“There’s no need to apologize,” Alastor murmurs, and he releases one of Lucifer’s hands to slide around his back, pulling him fully into his chest. “We did say that we would revisit the intimate portion of that night when you were no longer intoxicated. Tell me, Lucifer, are you under any influence at this time?”
He doesn’t trust himself to speak, so he shakes his head. It shakes some logic loose- that kiss had been a mistake, the door wasn’t locked if a customer approached, he was less than ten feet from the apartment he had shared with his dead wife- but doesn’t stop him from allowing Alastor to lean in and press their lips together.
It’s so much better now that he’s not drunk. The kiss is soft and gentle for a bit, simply their lips touching as they learn the ways they fit against one another. It’s not until Alastor fists a hand in his shirt to keep him close that Lucifer even considers trying to deepen it. His hands tremble from nerves instead of liquor when he reaches up to hold the back of Alastor’s head, fingers threading through his hair while a broken noise tears itself from the back of his throat. Alastor responds in kind, making a soft sound that’s lost in Lucifer’s mouth as he parts his lips, his tongue shyly seeking entrance that Lucifer is all too eager to give him.
Lightning sparks behind his eyes, heat flooding his veins to pool low in his stomach, and he knows he needs to end the kiss before he does something that both of them may regret- though he hates to break the intimacy of the moment, ravishing Alastor in his parlor was not on his agenda for the day. He would need time to plan, to properly court the baker perhaps before inviting him to his bed- not to mention the extra time he would need to whisper pleading prayers to Lilith to forgive him.
Lucifer pulls back, his resolve nearly broken when he sees the way that Alastor’s lashes flutter, a noise of confusion escaping him. “We-” He clears his throat, embarrassed at the low rasp of it. “We should stop for now. Which is not to say that I don’t want to kiss you more! I do, very much,” he rambles, and Alastor merely blinks slowly and watches his mouth move as he had that first night. “Just, we should take this a bit more slowly. I don’t want to take advantage of your kindness-”
“Rest assured, Lucifer,” he purrs, “you are not.” And that makes him lose his train of thought for a moment, with how husky and low the words come from Alastor’s mouth.
“Haah, well, still. I would like to take this a bit slower and do it right. If you would allow me to, you know, properly court you, I would very much like to do so.” He sounds stupid, he realizes, like a child with a crush asking them to check ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on a piece of paper; he just hopes Alastor isn’t put off by the formal request. Perhaps he would prefer something unspoken, more blinding, unplanned kisses that steal both of their breath and leave them panting and wanting more.
But thank God, Alastor simply smiles at him and takes his hand again. “I would like that as well,” he says, and Lucifer thinks he could just collapse from the relief he feels. “We shall go at whatever pace best suits us- though I hope you’ll forgive me if I seem a bit impatient at times.” He watches Lucifer’s neck as he says this, and the barber knows he follows the movement of his throat as he swallows. “But by that logic, if I can wait for what I want, surely you can as well.”
Lucifer opens his mouth to respond- to admonish him, or perhaps pull him in for another kiss- when he hears the creaking of the stairs. He has just enough time to step back from Alastor before the door swings open, and he manages to hide his disappointment that it is not the Beadle, like he hoped, but Vaggie.
“Mister Morningstar!” She crosses the room to greet him with an enthusiastic handshake. “It’s been ages, I haven’t had much time to make it to this side of New Orleans but I’m happy to see you’re in business. And hello to you as well, sir,” she offers to Alastor, who gives her a small smile and turns to tidy something on the shelf behind him. “Mister Morningstar, I admit I have a favor to ask of you- there’s a woman, you see-”
Alastor scoffs behind them, and Vaggie’s eyes narrow into slits before she continues. “She is kind and beautiful, and stubborn beyond belief; she’s opened my eyes to so many new ideas and theories, and- her guardian poses a problem to any intentions I may have towards her, but late last night as we talked and the Judge called her away, Charlie slipped this into my hands.” She holds up a key, dark and dangling off a red ribbon. “It must be a sign, don’t you think?”
“Charlie?” He could hardly dare hope that it was her- that the Judge Vaggie spoke of was Adam, that such an opportunity to have her back was simply being dropped into his lap like this. “Charlie. And, the Judge, you say?”
“Charlie- Charlotte, I suppose, that is her name. And the Judge Cain and his lackey, the Beadle Sera Dempsey. They patrol the alley behind Cain’s home at random hours but despite this we’ve found days that we talk for hours before they can interrupt us. She is perfection, Mister Morningstar, and even if she doesn’t return my feelings I want to see her free from these jailers she’s in the care of. If I can convince her to leave with me tonight- perhaps later in the week, depending on when that horrid Judge is home- could I bring her here for shelter for an evening? Just until I can find a coach for hire to take her North with me, or wherever she wishes to go.”
She finally stops talking, taking a deep breath while she waits for Lucifer to answer her. He finds his words stuck in his throat- yes, bring her, please, bring her to me- and is dismayed to find a lump in his esophagus, halting his words behind the threat of tears. He clears his throat, blinking his eyes a couple times to rid himself of emotion. “You may bring her here,” he says, his heartbeat rapid in his veins, and Vaggie’s face lights up with joy.
“You’re a blessing, sir, thank you! I hope to see you again tonight, but in any case, I’ll come with Charlie soon!” She shakes his hand again, the force of it making him stumble, before she releases him and is back out the door as quick as a flash.
He turns almost absently to Alastor, who gives him a smile. “Who could have guessed?” He says cheerfully. “You’ll have her back before the week is out- possibly even before the day is done!”
“Charlie will be coming here,” he says distantly, and then it hits him like a train. “Charlie is coming! Oh God, what will she think of me? I need to- shave, maybe, or- should I grow it out? My beard was grown out when she was young, maybe that’s why she no longer recognizes me-”
“Lucifer.”
Alastor approached him slowly, like one might a feral animal- and that’s what he had felt like lately, some untamed beast stalking around his shop, so perhaps Alastor was right to take a cautious approach. “Perhaps we focus first on getting her here before you spiral about letting her know who you are, hm?”
“You’re right,” he says, and thank God for Alastor to help him keep a level head. “Of course, making sure she gets here safely is the most important part. But- we should clean the place up a bit! How soon do you think Husk can bring those flowers you mentioned? And I can dust the apartment, make sure that everything is tidy-”
He’s interrupted by the creaking of the stairs again, the bell at the bottom ringing loudly to signify someone coming. He expects Vaggie again, or even perhaps the Beadle at last. But to his confusion, it’s neither- Sir Edward Pentious stands in the doorway, his small assistant at his side and carrying a bag that was far too heavy for her slight frame and causing her to tilt to one side.
“Sir Pentious,” he greets cordially, “and… young lady.”
“I’m Niffty, sir,” she giggles, reaching a hand out to vigorously shake Lucifer’s. “Nice to meet you when you aren’t beating my boss in a shaving contest- and his shop is way nicer than yours too,” she directs to her employer, and he flushes a dark shade of red. “Are you sure you want to be a barber?”
“Niffty,” he hisses, and gently shoves her behind him. “I was hoping to speak with Mister Morningstar alone,” he directs to Alastor, who shrugs with a soft hum and leaves Lucifer’s side.
He meets Niffty at the door. “Well, aren’t you just a little wisp of a thing!” He says when he sees the bag she carries. He takes it from her hands and gestures her down the stairs. “Come along, I’ll see if I have anything adequate for you to eat…”
His voice and Niffty’s enthusiastic reply fade as they descend, leaving only Lucifer and the growing grin of Sir Pentious.
Again, a secret little 'so sorry, gotta do it' for the next chapter. Pour one out for Pentious y'all

Final Thoughts on RVB Restoration
(note that i did not bother with proper punctuation here and additional thoughts may be added later)
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT:
wow. i have A LOT to say about this
first, lets start with the things i really liked about this finale:
red team fight scenes. simmons and grif fighting the meta was so good, especially simmons being SO BADASS. simmons stans were fed well. i always love seeing the reds and blues fighting, even if theyre not good, as opposed to freelancers fighting
caboose did a lot and i think had some solid development (as much as he could get in only an hour and 25 mins, at least) and it seems like they made him less dumb?? which is fine with me, it almost seemed like he matured. i also kinda liked seeing caboose being thrown around and beaten up cause it HURT ME SO MUCH but i love being hurt (i love caboose this isnt meant to be an insult to him). it was also just so surreal seeing caboose actually being hurt in an animation because he always managed to avoid major beatings like that before. him and tucker having a brief moment together was soul crushing and i wish we couldve had more of that
tucker being influenced by the meta has been a thing since the s13 finale and seeing it actually happen was really cool
tex being brought back was kind of a meh thing for me. i think everything tex related shouldve just been left in s10 because that season really wrapped it all up nicely. i did enjoy having her back, though, just for the sake of her as a character cuz i love her. and her and church together was so fucking cute and heartbreaking
sarge dying to save caboose was obviously fucking SADDENING but also sweet in a way cause i love caboose being the honorary red member. he loves his blue son
again, simmons being a badass was so fucking good
the grimmons scene with grif saying "come with me" was romantic as hell 😭😭😭
churchs gay little pose
chex scene with tex holding churchs hand was so gjfHDJSAFKGHSDJFSDFKAS GODDDDD THIS M/F SHIP HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD
now, the things i DIDNT like:
really unfortunate that the movie/season was only 1 hr 25 mins. it really limited what they could do with the plot and characters, but i understand if it wasnt possible for RT to do more due to warner bros for example
churchs whole youtube video thing was kinda funny but also dragged on for too long and was the perfect example of "show dont tell" NOT being implemented
a lot of stuff felt ooc, like how the reds didnt wanna help caboose at all. the beginning with epsilon showing up was understandable with how they didnt want to get involved, but later on the ship they just leave caboose to be choked out by the meta? THAT part didnt feel like the reds at all. grif also for some reason was so fucking mad and yelling a lot? idk where all that came from? it was so random like grif chill dude 😭
wash just being stuck in a mental hospital for something we dont even find out about until the end, which in a story sense isnt inherently bad obviously and can really add to the narrative, but in this case it just felt so confusing and like it didnt make sense. why would carolina and the reds and blues just let that happen to wash? not to say that getting help with mental health is bad or anything, just what i mean is they dont seem to care that hes gone or anything and dont visit him and hes treated like hes crazy the whole time hes in the hospital
479er being alive was really awesome, but it came out of nowhere (i understand that this is also probably due to the runtime restraint)
WHERE THE HELL WERE DONUT AND LOPEZ THE WHOLE TIME???? lopez showed up once and donut was in a 5 second thought bubble from simmons? the FINAL season of rvb and they dont even have the full crew of characters fighting together one last time? nobody talked about them at all? come on guys
the beginning with the convention was just really unnecessary and boring
why does nobody seem to care that TUCKER IS MISSING WITH MAINES ARMOR?? it feels like everyone just got brainwashed to forget about all the years they spent being friends
what was the deal with the covid jokes 💀
sarge wouldve never let himself die to a blue
doc just dies offscreen and its only vaguely mentioned at the very end and just happened out of nowhere, almost as an excuse for wash to not be present during everything with the meta?
where the hell has carolina been? she was never mentioned once until she showed up at the end
why why WHY did GRIF LEAVE??? i know season 15 was retconned, but the fact that he CARES ABOUT HIS FRIENDS and doesnt actually want to leave them unlike what he says shouldnt have just been forgotten about. AND SIMMONS JUST DOESNT WANNA GO TO EARTH TO VISIT? HELLO THIS IS NOT THE SAME GRIF AND SIMMONS WE'VE BEEN WITH ALL THESE YEARS. wheres that tweet saying "found family separating after the journey is bs" cause thats how i feel about that. 21 years spent building up these amazing relationships between these amazing characters just for them to seemingly not give a shit about each other?? is simmons just alone in blood gulch with tucker and caboose now?? 💀💀💀
i understand because he was the meta, tucker didnt have control, but it was still unfortunate to barely have any tucker this season
i understand that the meta was a threat to everybodys lives, but it feels like everyone was just ok with killing tucker to be able to kill the meta. it wouldve been so much better and angstier if they were having difficulties with it because thats their friend
why did one have to show up. i dont really have anything personal against her as a character or anything but i wouldve really preferred any and all things related to zero to just be wiped off the face of the planet
the music was just terrible. really unfortunate they wouldnt have trocadero return :( it felt so unnerving having this weird stock music playing whenever people were just standing and talking. throughout all of rvb, 99% of the standing talking scenes never had any music so this was so bizarre
some animated scenes looked really off, idk if it was just me
one personal gripe i have that doesnt actually really matter that much to the overall season, but it really bothered me, is that that IS NOT HOW THE BUBBLE SHIELD WORKS!!! i think technically we've never actually seen the bubble shield be entered or exited on screen so i guess you could argue that it works differently from how they work in halo? idk still bothered me
this season in general just felt like an AU?? even 15 through 17 felt more real as seasons of rvb than this did, and i HATED season 16, so thats saying something
and of course, grimmons. big congrats to RT for the longest queerbaited couple in i think tv show history. this one really pisses me off the most because just. how. theres a difference between a queer ship existing because people like it, and a queer ship existing because there was actual subtext and clues and their relationship is written so perfectly and its been around for so long that so many queer people came to really love and identify with it in spite of how shitty they were treated. idc, grimmons is canon in all of our hearts, fuck that
a great point from mod janae: the whole point of rvb, which aiden price even talks about, is that they come together as friends/family and even though they individually suck, together they can do anything, and a better ending wouldve been not to bring back tex carolina or even wash but to have gotten all the reds and blues back together to stop the meta. it was never about being the strongest but about working together
in general, i did not like the season. it had a few things i liked, but obviously the cons outweigh the pros here and so overall, i hated it. i mightve hated it even more than season 16 which is insane because ill fight tooth and nail for why season 16 is such a catastrophe. really disappointing that this is how rvb ends. i wouldve much preferred a cheesy "friendship defeats the bad guy and saves the day" ending because that IS what rvb is to a degree. anyways i understand how GOT fans feel now

A list of my IWATEX AUs and fanfics.
Since a lot of people have found me through IWATEX, I figured I should probably make an actual list of my AUs and fanfiction, just to have them all in one place.
Fragmented Futures - aka. the Everyone Knows AU
Probably the one most of you are here for, since it's the one I've posted about the most, but written the least for in terms of actual fic. An AU in which all of the Stratos-Helios kids suddenly become aware, that they're stuck in a timeloop... all except Sol. Or so the others think.
A story full of kids being friends, learning new stuff about themselves, and a generous dash of eldritch shenanigans.
Currently in the works for this AU: an as of yet "non-canon" vent-fic, in which I subject Sol to something a little more realistic than my usual treatment of them. Not sure if it'll be incorporated into the fic proper, but as of this point in writing, it's just meant to be a little side-thing set in the same universe.
The Tragedy of the Exocolony on Vertumna IV
The AU/fanfiction that has me in a chokehold at the moment, TOTEOV is an eldritch horror story that takes all my love for Sym and the Overseer, flips it upside-down, and turns it into a toxic mess of good intentions gone horrifically wrong. Oh, and Rex and Vace are forced to work together.
A story that draws heavily on the tropes of children stolen away by the supernatural, such as The Pied Piper of Hamelin and other fae tales.
Heed the tags. Seriously.
The Solution AU
An AU I've never really mentioned here except once, nor written a single word for. Ironically, this is actually the origin AU of TOTEOV.
The basic premise is that Sol, after many trips around the loop, decides to look for a permanent solution. They eventually decide that the best way to do so, is for them to become a Gardener from the very beginning and create an entirely new timeline from scratch. In collaboration with the Overseer, they turn the clock back to just before the Verma's departure and get implanted in the system as a seed to sprout in the future.
The issue is that this means Solanaceae won't ever have existed amongst the humans. And they're fine with paying this price, if it means a more harmonious future overall.
So aboard the Stratospheric, when that time comes, there is no child born to Flulu and Geranium, no cheerful Sol amongst the kids. Instead, when Besk dies, the twins are adopted by the cultivators and grow up... not quite the same as in the original timeline, but also not too different from how we know them.
And on Vertumna, Sol welcomes humanity to guide their gradual integration into the ecosystem. Looking from afar, forgotten by everyone they love except the Gardeners.
......except this is one of my AUs, so of course nothing is as it seems, and Sol will re-learn just how strong the power of love is.
The Person You'll Grow to Be - completed, canon-compliant fanfic.
My first fanfic for this fandom. Aka the Flulu Loves Her Kid So Much fic.
A story going from Flulu learning of her pregnancy all the way to her death during the famine. An tale of her love for Sol and how she felt about a lot of things.

The Murder of Santasia by georgia sanders: A Look Into The Horrors of Hollywood (a story review)
I just recently finished TMOS yesterday when I wrote this and dear lord the story has me on a chokehold. Like, this was definitely worth the read! But first off, let me write up an honest, no-filter review about it because I need to get it out of my system lmao so let's get to it! (This is my first time writing a serious review so bear with me haha)
THE PLOT
In this story, we play as Caroline Reid who gets scouted by the infamous Hugo Lloyd (a well known celebrity in Hollywood who owns the Lloyd Studios) primarily to act as a replacement for the world famous Hollywood actress Santasia Evergreen who was mysteriously murdered in her own home, specifically so that Lloyd Studios can finish wrapping up a movie that Santasia was supposed to star in. The catch here is that Caroline was specifically picked because she "looks like" Santasia; she's a "spitting image" of her. And so she gets hired into the studio, gets proper acting training, and gets transformed into a first year up-and-coming actress under the name of Celine Reyes.
The bad thing however is that the longer Caroline/Celine sticks around in Hollywood, the more she finds out the film industry isn't all that glamorous and the more she learns that there's more to Santasia's death than it seems...
THE LOVE INTERESTS
The story introduces two love interests to choose which will influence the story branch you'll play through and the ending you'll get.
First is Nicholas Lloyd. He's one of the beloved famous actors in Hollywood and he's the son of Hugo Lloyd. Not only that, he was Santasia's boyfriend back then and he was very close to her back then. Considering what happened with Santasia, Nick starts off as the typical grumpy distant guy who sometimes comes off as rude and cold especially to MC (although it's kinda understandable considering she looks like her dead girlfriend) but is later revealed to be more of a sweet guy who cares about his loved ones the more you learn about him in the story. I loved their friendship in the story so much and how they help each other with the conflict in the story regarding the mystery of Santasia's death. Plus, grumpy characters tend to be amazing when they're well written!
And the second LI is Donovan Crawford, a popular singer who is known as "America's male sweetheart". In a way, he is kinda like Justin Bieber but in the 1900s: very beloved by the female population. If Nick is the black cat, then Donovan is considered as the golden retriever. A sweet, caring gentleman who is a literal ray of sunshine. I really love how he's always there to support the MC every single time and how he radiates so much green flag energy that you can always trust that this guy can't do anything bad. He's basically the dream guy, if you ask me. (I love both Donovan and Nick, don't come at me please)
WORTH THE READ?
I can positively say that yes it is worth the read!
The story was beautifully written. The mystery of Santasia's death was handled so well and the love interests are so amazing that it was hard to choose. Even certain side characters like Lauren for example get good development as well. Not to mention how god-tier the advanced directing which made scenes like the dance scene during the date with Donovan feel so cinematic. That specific scene was even animated! It was clear that the story was handled with so much care, and kudos to the author for all the hard work considering how coding is very hard in writing Episode stories.
TO SUMMARIZE
PROS:
Best advanced directing. It makes most of the scenes feel so cinematic.
Well-written love interests
Well-written main character
An entertaining murder mystery thriller that will get you hooked til the end.
CONS:
Limited customization on MC and LIs. This is due to the story using advanced overlays which are necessary to properly experience the advanced cinematic-like directing. This is also because the story heavily emphasizes how MC is supposed to be a spitting image of Santasia so drastic changes can't be made.
Gem choices. Although they're not exactly much of a con because they don't affect anything at all. They're there because this story was written as a contest entry, and contest entries were required to include gem choices in order to qualify. Treat them as a way to support the author, by the way!
Overall, I recommend this story to people who:
Love the mystery, suspense, and thriller genres
Is interested in stories that take place in Hollywood
Love a strong female lead
And, love murder mysteries
TLDR: this story is an amazing read, writing and directing wise!

What songs make you think of your faves?
Ooo this is difficult because my brain is basically a big jumbled mess of songs and story/character relations, and I haven’t made a proper character playlist in a while, but I’ll do my best!!
These are just for my current or very recent faves, and the songs are just the ones I know off the top of my head have correlation in my head.
Alex Summers:
- X Men
These are on vibes alone, not as much storyline
I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles
Leaving On A Jet Plane - John Denver
Don’t Stop Me Now - Queen
I Know Places - Taylor Swift (shut up I know 😭)
Cough Syrup - Young the Giant
I’ll Stand By You - The Pretenders (this one is specifically a Charles and Alex father-son esque song.)
Monster - Caissie Levy
No Surrender - Bruce Springsteen
Teenagers - My Chemical Romance
The Way I Loved You - Taylor Swift
We Built This City - Starship
Iris - The GooGoo Dolls
I have a lot more on hc based storylines but I haven’t introduced that version of Alex to the public very much yet.
Shout out to You Belong With Me as that makes me think of Alex simply because of Lucas Till, and You Are My Sunshine for being the main plot point in my first Alex fic.
Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr:
- X Men
Andante, Andante - ABBA (Mamma Mia version) (CE)
As If We Never Said Goodbye - Barbra Streisand (C)
Can’t Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon (CE)

Updates
Apologies for the lack of updates on any R&R content lately, the brain does not want to do it LMAO
Instead, I've started work on another multi-chapter fic: Ready Aim Fire (With... punctuation in the title pending)
This would be the Star Sanses x Paintball Reader fic. I've gotten a few chapters written, but unlike R&R, RAF has a beta. Should help with continuity errors and the like. I won't be posting any of it until it's been gone over.
I'm not abandoning R&R, but I'm having difficulty getting started on the content I want to write for it. Nothing good comes out of what gets forced, so I'm directing my creative energies elsewhere.
Additionally, my workstation has been moved. I do the vast majority (98% or better) of my writing at work because the lulls in responsibilities and tasks are often wide and boring. Without real consultation, my station was moved out into the open a little more (where I previously sat in a corner specialized for my job) with the manager occasionally sitting over my shoulder.
Feeling like I'm being babysat does not help my creativity in the slightest, and I feel like I have to kind of... hunch over to be able to write anything without someone reading over my shoulder. Even writing the most innocuous of things, I haaatteee people reading over my shoulder. It's already happened once at this job (I was editing a site page at the time) and I really don't want it to happen again.
Fortunately, the manager both isn't here very often, and doesn't like the setup. I'm hoping this is a very temporary thing. My back is also to the office printer, so I have a pretty steady stream of people behind my desk a lot. That isn't new, but it's more difficult to handle now than it was before.
Also contributing to my lack of ability to make anything is the somewhat unfortunate complete-attention-grab of Baldur's Gate 3, since my partner and I got it on our PS5 to play couch co-op. BG3 has my brain in a chokehold LMAO. I'm trying to evenly split hyperfixation between my projects and the new fandom/special interest, but BG3 is winning that LOL
Also, the domesticity of the first half of RAF is not as exciting for me to write. I'm struggling through a chapter because there's nothing really going on. Still have to make it engaging without dragging ass, so I've rewritten six paragraphs already. I also have to work with a couple of characters I'm not as practiced in writing, and I'm trying to do that well. (Neither of whom were in R&R, for the record.)
I've seen a couple of things for R&R floating around in the wild (ie, not shown directly to me; either I saw it in passing, or friends showed it to me) and it's absolutely mind-boggling that my work is as inspiring as it is, and that people talk about me without talking to me. It almost doesn't feel real. Thank you guys.
Speaking of R&R, I haven't done a proper promotion for this, and it's a crime:
If you enjoyed R&R, especially from a character interaction standpoint, you will absolutely love Rubble&Ramparts by Hiddenshadowwolf on Ao3
Here's a link
The story's premise is: what if the events of Chapter 20 didn't go so smoothly? If everyone got injured in the fight, not just Ren and Dust. What would happen if Baggs was in over his head trying to make sure everyone survives? The answer is to accost a nurse from a very mundane AU to help out, but... there's more to her than meets the eye.
Ru&Ra follows Alexis, a nurse, as she navigates the prickly personalities of Nightmare's crew, discovers and learns about magic, and becomes entangled in the complex web of events that follow xGaster's attack.
Every new chapter is a wonderful treat and an absolute goldmine of characterization and study. You can feel the love and effort put into it.
If you're over there chewing the walls waiting for content from me, go read this, it'll scratch the itch very effectively.
For now, I'll happily take continued questions about the fics, the casts, and the characters. You can ask about RAF, but some things might get a very vague answer if they're spoilery.
Thanks guys!

Wow, I'm mad at myself for being late to the favorite fic subject coming up /j
Personally, I'm a huge sucker for cya and have itysg as a second(however, if we decide to count your other fics then... itysg would be third while your smile makes me smile would be second). I think it's the amount of world building that makes it so interesting for me along with the fact that it takes place before the archon war. Like, there hardly passes a day where cya doesn't just... scoot right over into my thoughts making it kinda hard to reread cause it know it so well </3.
I am sad to say that I haven't checked out BitA yet. When I first saw it while looking for some other fic of yours to read, I didn't really like apocalypse stories much. I might check it out though cause I'm a lot more open to those kinds of stories now. I also remember starting every good intention, but I don't remember why I stopped... I think I had to get off my phone for a bit and just... forgot to continue? Idk I really should check those two...
You really get me Sprinkles- those murder mystery fics are so good! I remember reading one of genshin that was also mixed with a time loop and I just ate it up-(it was sadly discontinued and then deleted from ao3, but not before I managed to download it for future offline reading-) I'm honestly interested in those wriolette ones you mentionned, may I have a few recs if you don't mind? I need more wriolette in my life.
i do in fact have some wriolette murder mystery / cop mystery recs
A Match Made in France by oooohscar - not a murder mystery per se but it does contain mystery investigations. it's basically furina trying to matchmake neuvillette and wriothesley and she quickly discovers they work well as investigation partners? and so she starts trying to get them to investigate things together, but then shit gets out of hand. it's so fucking good and so fucking funny. like it's pre-reveal furina but i can forgive the mild ooc and- y'know, furina portrayal pre-trauma-reveal (?) just because it's so well written and hilarious (and also she's not portrayed entirely as a brat, i find her more absurdly histrionic than anything). also it's not just furina pov, it switches between all of them. it's incomplete but updating, and absolutely worth a read
The Gambler's Debt by Marsrevale - much more serious than the one above, this one is a murder mystery through and through. the mystery is still only starting, so it probably has a long way to go, but i'm patient so i'll keep up. it's basically neuvillette and clorinde going to investigate a series of murders in the fortress of meropide (this is a sort of modern au so meropide is a gambling house / hotel i think) and wriothesley is the main suspect, but there's also stuff going on between neuvillette and wriothesley bc they knew each other long ago but only wriothesley recognizes him. idk how else to describe it, it's really intriguing so far, i hope the mystery pans out nicely
Hold my hand, never let me go by Jinnmi - also a proper murder mystery, this one is about what is essentially a branch of fontaine's police force for criminal investigation led by wriothesley and the many interconected cases they have to solve. neuvillette is sent as a consultant to keep an eye on them, but ends up basically joining the team as they all try to solve a big case that seems to threaten the country whole and is also somehow connected to wriothesley's past. this one is very good, the murders might be a bit too gruesome for sensitive people? but still, really nice. i love the unsettling vibe of whatever the one behind this all is planning, the suspense is also really good. still updating and i rush to it every time a new chapter comes out, it had me in a chokehold when i first found it.
hope those sound interesting!
#in case you're wondering babysitting has nowhere near any of the angst that the average apocalypse story has#like it's a found family speedrun more than it is an apocalypse#the apocalypse is just the setting hahah#anyway#hnnnn thank you;;;;;;;;;;;;;#ily <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

A Clockwork Orange Notes
PART ONE
-Already the book starts differently than the movie, don't hate me for watching the movie before reading the book. The boys hassle a smoke shop before the homeless man, which was not included in the movie. They sweeten up some old ladies at a diner (?) as an alibi.
-"It's a stinking world because it lets the young get on to the old like you done, and there's no law nor order no more."
-"--The attempt to impose upon man, a creature of growth and capable of sweetness, to ooze juicily at the last round the bearded lips of God, to attempt to impose, I say, laws and conditions appropriate to a mechanical creation, against this I raise my sword-pen" pg 27. Foreshadowing.
-Alex is the alpha of the pack, just as he was in the movie.
-Alex is a teenager, or college age student.
-Alex's dream of Georgie being a general is also foreshadowing.
-P. R. Deltoid's warning to Alex tells us that Alex has been caught and in trouble before, enough times for him to have a post corrective advisor stop to visit him in his home. Sent there by Alex's mother.
-I think it's important to note that Alex using the same "my friend has fainted" play has it's own glimpse onto Alex's intelligence. While he does make himself appear to be high and mighty, no one is smarter than me, type character, why would he use the same play to lure people into opening their doors for him? If it's worked a few times in the past to get him what he wants, eventually people will catch the repetition and become warned of that phrase. Maybe that is why the cat lady was suspicious of the phrase from the start. She'd been warned and did the right thing but denying him entry and calling the police right away. Our Humble Narrator isn't as smart as he thinks.
-Alex is 15 at the the story takes place.
-Alex's lingo has a chokehold on my every waking moment. It haunts me how fluid it feels when I'm reading it, even though I have no idea what he's saying most of the time. I do find it interesting how the author indicates that the adults in the story speak without Alex's lingo, they speak "proper".
PART TWO
-Alex is now 17.
-It seems like in the film they completely removed the second murder Alex was convicted of, which I feel would have been important towards telling his story. In the film, they show Alex having taken responsibility and showing interested in becoming a better man. In the book, Alex is still manipulative and a bad character. He hasn't learned from his crimes. He's just annoyed that he is forced to be around people he considers to be lesser than him. He's disgusted by them. He's looking in the mirror and refuses to see his own reflection.
-Aversion therapy is what is happening here, where the patient is given an undesirable stimuli while being shown images, or in Alex's case, films, in order to treat the unwanted behavior. This was also administered as treatment for "curing" homosexuality back in the day alongside castration to cure gayness. While the practice has been looked down upon and shamed for the mental harm it causes patients who underwent this treatment, unfortunately conversion therapy and aversion therapy is still practiced today. However, there are proper non-harmful ways to use aversion therapy and is sometimes recommended by therapists. Aversion therapy is a type of behavioral therapy. It is sometimes used to help treat nail biting, alcoholism (some medications used to treat alcohol abuse trigger a sick feeling response when alcohol is consumed), and smoking.
-The "vitamin" injection was the undesirable stimuli, making Alex feel weak and the showing of the criminal activities on film made Alex condition criminal activity with feeling sick. Which is why later on when Alex is kicked around and shown breasts, he becomes sick. This is similar to the alcoholism aversion therapy medication which makes the patient nauseous when they consume alcohol. The author writing about this therapy did a great job at expressing the thoughts and actions and makes me wonder if he did this on purpose or if it was accidental.
-Alex is quickly beginning to realize the horrors he had committed. While it was fun and games for him before, now having the undesirable stimuli to punish his behavior is teaching him that crime is not fun and games.
-I wonder why they didn't show a scene of Alex hitting his head against the wall and showing sickness from it in the film. I feel they grazed over this part of the book, showing Alex and the films, his shouting and anger at the doctors playing his favorite music, but the read pain is in Alex's physical reactions. A duality can be found between pre-cured Alex and the correctional doctors, the violence is different but still violence. Same with the police violence towards the end.
-"Am I just to be like a clockwork orange?" page 129.
PART THREE
-Alex still feels higher than everyone else, that he's more important than everyone else.
-In the end, Alex didn't learn anything. He went right back to worshipping violence.

The Supernatural and Paranormal world in history
(I wrote this back in my junior year of highschool for a research essay but decided I wanted to share it with others because some of the things on here are just so fascinating to me I didn’t want to keep it to myself. The writing here is definitely all over the place)
The supernatural world has had a chokehold on cultures and civilizations around the world since history even began being recorded, and even today it’s still an almost everyday thing for plenty of people and countries.
The idea of the supernatural dates back as far as ancient Babylon when the Babylonians recorded how to dispel a ghost to the underworld on a stone tablet. The tablet was made in ancient Babylon sometime around 1500 B.C.E. At the time it was the earliest known depiction of a ghost. It is extremely difficult to see the writing and it must be viewed under specific light. It is small and half of the tablet is missing, but it still gives specific instructions on how to remove ghosts. The directions say to have an exorcist make figurines of a man and woman, prepare two vessels of beer; next at sunrise speak ritual words calling on the Mesopotamian god Shamash, who was the god of the sun and was responsible for guiding the undead to the underworld. One of the texts has a warning to not look behind you; whether this is directed at the ghost going to the underworld or the exorcist is unknown. Throughout history people have believed that they encountered ghosts in their everyday life; many scholars even have writings that give instructions on how to exercise these ghosts. Mesopotmians had rituals during funerals to specifically ensure the dead would not rise as ghosts, but instead of being viewed with fear, the Mesopotamians viewed them with sympathy as their eternal slumber had been taken away from them (Gershon, n.pag).
Ghosts were less known during ancient Rome; and more feared than honored; unlike in the Babylonian culture one of the first ghost stories came from Ancient Rome. The first ghost story was written by Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus, better known as Pliny the Younger. He was a scholar and magistrate in Ancient Rome and wrote hundreds, if not thousands, of letters in his time. One of the most popular may be his letter to Roman Senator Lucius Licinius Sura, where Pliny asks if he truly believes in the specters, which reveals this conversation may have been going on for some time. Pliny goes on to speak about the story of a haunted house in Athens where the inhabitants reported hearing noises in the night; this slowly drove them to madness; and eventually death. Once the home was empty Athendoros the Philosopher inquired about it, he was intrigued by the story of the previous owners and decided to see if these stories held any truth. He said the ghost had appeared for him, a specter of a man with a long white beard and disheveled hair. The ghost led him outside before disappearing on a specific spot. Athendoros had the magisterium dig the spot up the next day where they discovered a long-deceased body; once the body of the man received a public funeral, the home was no longer haunted (Secundus n.pag).
Pliny the younger seemed to be worried about the ghost according to his letter, and even wrote to a politician about these concerns; Pliny states, “I am extremely desirous therefore to know your sentiments concerning specters, whether you believe they exist and have their proper shapes and a measure of divinity, or are only the false impressions of a terrified imagination?” (Secundus n.pag).
In the 1700s the paranormal was part of everyday life, so much that a newspaper had daily tales about paranormal stories in neighborhoods. People would report strange events that took place in their homes and it would be posted. Most reported stories said ghosts were horrible and loud creatures, but not violent. Newspapers devoted to reporting unusual behavior were a hit with communities in the 17th century (Sangha n.pag).
People had begun to believe some of the living could be directly connected to the supernatural world; they called themselves psychics and clairvoyants. The 1700s were the rise of this belief, mainly in England and Egypt with women. Many used playing cards or tea for readings to avoid suspicion as witches. Travelers from Egypt had become well known for their spiritual abilities and would receive payment to tell fortunes. The French scholar and writer Antoine Court De Gebelin was one of the first to use tarot for the occult; he claimed these cards originated from Egypt and were brought to England by travelers (Matthews n.pag).
The second most prominent figure in the occult was Etteila, the grandfather of the occult tarot. Very little is known about his life before beginning to work with the tarot, but he was born in 1738 to Maître Rôtisseur, a caterer, and his mother, whose name is unknown, a seed merchant. Those who began practicing the occult often believed that what they were doing was with the help of spirits, again tying the 18th century with the paranormal world (Matthews n.pag).
The paranormal has always been a part of the world, while people do not truly know if it is real or not. The cultures of the past may have been heavily influenced by the ideas of ghosts and spirits. Many modern historians speculate that the reason the civilizations centuries ago relied so heavily on the idea of the supernatural was to give them a possible answer to what happens after death. In history humans did believe ghosts were a part of life, and that they were an important part of life and how the world functioned.
Personal Position
The world has always been filled with intricate and detailed stories revolving around the supernatural and while it is unlikely that monsters or other supernatural creatures live in the world the theories of it are interesting and a large part of the past. The way entire cultures can form around a simple thought of nonexistent creatures is fascinating. Knowing about the history of past civilizations is important; and since the supernatural was so deeply rooted in their culture it should be just as important. The supernatural has had a strong hold on cultures around the world since ancient times.
Everyone wonders if the supernatural exists if monsters roam the earth hidden from the naked eye. Most cultures were created with the idea that the supernatural wanted to harm them, but today modern society calls these old ideas myths or folktales. Has the supernatural world existed this entire time or are myths created to cause fear among civilizations as a way of controlling them?
The supernatural was first created as a way for early civilizations to understand what they believed to be unexplainable events, such as their crops suddenly dying must have been the cause of a witch or missing money must be a demon.
The use of the supernatural in culture has varying motives and can neither be proven nor disproven. Psychics believe they have the power to contact the other side; while there is no scientific proof of this one woman, Dorothy Allison has assisted in over 400 police cases and is still being contacted by police for assistance, “In her voluntary detecting career, Allison worked on more than 5,000 cases for law enforcement agencies around the globe and was credited by many with helping to solve more than a dozen murders and find at least 50 missing children.” (Oliver, n.pag)
In early history the invisible world served a deep and important cultural purpose; they had originally used it to show what was unacceptable in their societies, eventually, these monsters created from simple ideas turned into people's darkest fears, “Many Tudor and Stuart people – from the most educated elites to ordinary working men and women – believed that alongside their own, visible world was what has been termed an ‘invisible world’. These two worlds were deeply intertwined: from the malevolent powers of witches, to the demonstration of divine will in monsters and other ‘wonders of nature’, they thought that the supernatural shaped the natural world“ (Cambridge 1).
At first, the idea of monsters may have been helpful in their eyes; it was a way to easily represent unwanted traits in communities, at some point it got out of hand and their beliefs turned into monsters, “In the Early Modern Period monsters played an important role in European society, they were created by communities in order to serve cultural purposes. One of these purposes was that monsters outlined characteristics that were culturally unacceptable, and through the image of monsters were used to enforce these beliefs” (Smith 1).
What was once a cultural idea turned into fear that lasted generations; every small event that may have been believed to be unexplainable turned into a monster out to get them and their family. They were no longer in control of these fears; instead these monsters controlled and shaped their culture, “Whatever the community would fear the most, monsters would spawn from these anxieties. Witches would attack crops, murder livestock, and create curses, all acts that European communities would fear, another example of how fear began to construct monsters” (Smith 1).
In early history the idea of the supernatural served a cultural purpose; these supernatural beings often had characteristics that were unacceptable to the culture. They used these creatures to reinforce their beliefs. These creatures were created to specifically hold monstrous traits, for example, one monster may be gluttonous or violent. The problem these ideas brought with them was severe anxiety amongst communities; most of the farmers believed witches may come and destroy their crops randomly or a shop owner thought a demon would steal their earnings. Communities found a way to make their fears a physical threat to their well beings; they wanted what they were as a rational answer for irrational events. In early history people feared what they could not understand or recognize; for example when discoveries of animals were made people thought they must be beasts of the unnatural world if they did not understand it, it must be monstrous or dangerous.
The supernatural has been an important part of culture since some of our earliest recorded histories. Understanding the importance of the supernatural in history is something that more people should see. Early civilizations used monsters to form what they did not want in their culture; or as an excuse for negative parts of their life. Today the supernatural has become fictional to most people, or are folktales.
While the supernatural is most evident in early history, it still has its involvement in cultures and daily life today. Some still believe that the paranormal and supernatural world is part of life, such as certain people believing that they can contact the other side or cultures believing in supernatural creatures like the chupacabra or skinwalker.
Psychics in the modern day are often used in many police investigations, especially homicides. The first recorded assistance of a psychic in police investigations was in 1845, though many believe they were helping before that, unfortunately, this recorded case has been lost. They have been shown to give useful information that has even been proven true later in the investigations. Many psychics have become trusted members of many police departments.
In history, civilizations used the supernatural to either cause or ease fear in their daily lives. They used these monsters to specifically form their world how they saw fit, if someone had the traits of these monsters they were targeted. For a widow not remarrying was seen as a witch. They came to truly believe the supernatural existed in their world and that it was working against them.
There has been no scientific evidence of the supernatural or paranormal world hidden in our own. Many people have tried to falsify evidence and there have been competitions offering thousands of dollars for the science behind the supernatural to be proven but no one has truly discovered it, not with physical evidence that can show the paranormal and supernatural are part of our world.
The supernatural is not a natural everyday phenomenon; it was created for a specific purpose. Only after decades of being used to show what is culturally unacceptable did civilizations begin to convince themselves these monsters were real and they are what is causing the problems in life, “In the Early Modern Period monsters played an important role in European society, they were created by communities in order to serve cultural purposes” (Smith 1).
The supernatural was at first only a thought someone had to use to help form civilizations; it then turned into something much more over time. The citizens of the old world turned these thoughts into what they believed to be real physical creatures through fear, they had no way of knowing if they were real or not, and they believed what they were told by chiefs, kings, and lords. They let their fear control them and their entire lives.
The paranormal and supernatural world has been tied with culture for over a thousand years; while they may not be real it is important to many parts of the world. People at the beginning of recorded history believed this unseen world was something they could not live without, and the world could not function without. After a few hundred years the paranormal was beginning to be more unnatural rather than natural and important; it was purely fictional now. The idea of the paranormal and supernatural in the world changed multiple times across the world throughout time, many cultures stopped believing in it and many had it involved in daily life and religion. The supernatural is a heavily important part of this world’s history; and many times influenced the past. The supernatural may continue to affect the future of everyone.

I'd like to know your thoughts on ONE, if that's alright? It's a show I like a lot :D
Also enjoy the uhh emotions because for a solid week every time I thought of it I wanted to keel over and scream loudly
Oh man. Here's the thing, I have a LOT of thoughts but theyre like, all jumbled and over the place. I have some strong ship-related opinions, but besides that, I really really enjoy the way stuff was drawn and the story kept throwing me for a loop. I find it extremely soul crushing, there's a lot going on and all of these characters are very much morally grey. I wish there was a more in depth exploration of some of them, and also I sort of keep thinking about plot points such as the whole thing with bryce and stella and also. Charlotte deserves more attention and she's very complex but I feel could be misunderstood easily. Liam has me in a chokehold personally. I wanna talk more, but i need some like, questions to answer, free ranting makes me unable to focus proper

Uno reversing you
answering this while crying btw
my all-time #1 is from Great Teacher Onizuka. like i love the track and love the visuals despite it being an old anime. actually discovered the song before even finding out it was frm an anime and i was surprised tbh. happy to report that gto also became one of my fav animes so !! 🫶
the rest under the cut!
(some of them are kinda essay-ish so it's a long read, but rest assured i get tired of talking at some point)
quick sidenote that i've stopped watching anime for like a good chunk of my life zzz so i might have missed out on a lot of them/forgotten most of them? don't shoot me for having limited selection 😭 tried to make it as diverse since i just have 10 spots but tbh it's so hard cus i clearly have a certain preference for rock/math rock for anime openings so ??
↳ this track + video really just has a chokehold on me. it's the coolest thing in existence imo. i cannot stress enough that it feeds you both in visuals and in audio !! i've alrd talked abt this above so we skipping the essay for her. watch gto!
↳ plz before i get called a cheater, these two tracks kinda sound the same because it's the same vocalist (TK is him as a solo artist, LTS is the band). unravel (tokyo ghoul) beats abnormalize (psycho pass) when it comes to audio, but visual-wise i just dig the art for psycho pass's OP more. like yeah the art for tokyo ghoul opening is much more of a feast to the eyes and the animations slap, but psycho pass as an anime entirely hits different to me.
↳ visuals-wise it's normal (pls it's the type of OP that feels like a spoiler if u watch it wtf 😭 but it really doesn't spoil anything). i'm just in love with this because it works well as an opening song, but also works for fight scenes (kinda like unravel).
whoever is behind bungou stray dogs sure did a great job of inserting the opening song in the middle of the episode. like i rmr getting confused there hasn't been an opening yet few mins into the episode, and then there it is in the fight scene itself. it gets a 10/10 in versatility because it just always fits all throughout the season.
↳ never beating the cheating allegations bc here we are again with a tie. in my defense, asian kung-fu generation anime openings r really fuckinnnn good. visually it's haruka kanata (naruto) for me especially cus of the team 7 snippets, but audio-wise rewrite (fma) is something i'll never get tired of listening to. makes me feel like i'm a main character smoking after i just beat up dozens of guys. (i didn't watch fma though zz but for some reasons i know of this song)
↳ durarara!! is one of my all-time fav animes tbh and this opening just gives the proper vibes for it. drrr's storytelling is very non-linear (rashomon effect/method forgot the literary term) where you get different povs from each character before it culminates into one event, and this song feels like that? it feels like i'm in the middle of tokyo piecing together all the stories i've gotten and then getting sudden clarity.
↳ someone recommended jujutsu kaisen to me way back and ngl i'm a serial anime opening skipper but i was just physically unable to skip this one every time. like? even the visuals go hard. eventful anime opening for such an eventful anime tbh.
↳ proud to be one of the ppl who actually know abt this song from bakemonogatari itself 😭 tbh the anime's opening songs don't really go hard even if it's that kind of genre. i honestly like bakemonogatari though and it was funny to me that all the ops were cutesy despite it being a mystery show.
it's quirky yet still fits the premise of the series, like mc just bickers with some people he meets and then boom suddenly he's covered in blood. shoutout to shaft studio because they're just a master of absurd anime. like yeah there are fight scenes but ?? the way it's not even the main point of the show is fun to me.
↳ plz an iconic opening for an iconic anime (ohshc) 🌸 !! growing up this anime had a grip on me, as well as that "kiss kiss fall in love!" in the beginning. free serotonin tbh, the anime and this op.
↳ used to know this word-for-word... help. this doesn't sound like the type of ops above but it's really catchy. naruto ops slap that's that on that
↳ brooooo the vibes of this song... it makes me feel powerful. and a lot just happening in the entire song, kinda like tokyo revengers fr 😭 like the sound changes in the middle of the song and it confuses me but it's so good (again, kinda like tokyo revengers itself)
anyways, waiting for ur list! <3 thank you for ur interest in the shit i say
oki i finished, my bad if it's super long but i think you signed up for that by asking me. like i just don't ever give a simple answer ever i get too excited, and next thing i know it's too late to regret lmfaooo
wish i can include more but this was already physically hard for me to type bc i know im letting go of my other favs 😭
