So, I just started to play Obey Me! Shall We Date

And well, I have thoughts

Im currently stuck on the first levels of lesson 5, so my knowledge of the plot is limited to that + some spoilers I accidentally got while going though the obey me! tag. Do I have a deep understanding of this game? No. Am I gonna rant anyway? Yeah. See me do another one of these soon after I play it some more, but for now, I need to put this out there:

First, mechanics-wise, the first thing on my mind was "Mr. Love from Hell", which is honestly not too far fetched. Maybe it's because I'm playing in my old ass tablet (I need a new phone, this thing ain't gonna survive 2020) but it's just so slow??? I've tried downloading full data, and it kinda helped, but still, it just annoys me so much! It's not crashing like crazy (cof cof Love Island The Game cof cof) but it could be better, it takes forever to get the itens to level up cards because it just ????????? takes forever for them to load???? anyone else got this problem or it's just my device? Anyway, that aside, I quite like it, if you played MLQC, it's pretty easy to manage, and while it takes a bit more of attention to win battles, I think that's a good thing. Getting shards has a been a bitch, like, I keep on suffering with the loading and my competitive ass wants to finish begginer's missions, and again I think Mr. Love has spoiled me. Also, someone please tell me how to level up skills, because I have no idea???

Now, moving on to the actual tea: what do I think of these boys?

Let's go in order, shall we:

So, I open the app and I see Lucifer in all his red and black glory, furry cape, Dom-Daddy, Big D Energy for days and go "Oh, Demon!Nobunaga, fun!". I'm immediately drawn to him beacause Nobu was my first ever otome guy and while I eventually grew out of the whole "this man is so controlling and sexy and dark" phase, nostalgia ya know? So, turns out the vibe I keep getting from Lucifer is more like all those dark-kinky-Jumin-Han-fanfics (as in, the only parts of Jumin Han that I hate) rather than Nobu? Idk man, this guy just seems shady?? They all do honestly but Lucifer is just plain scary. Dude, I know you've got the whole "most-powerful-oldest-control-freak" going for you but, like, can you chill?

Yet I can't really blame him, cause, Veronica (that's my MC's name) why, girl???? She be going up those stairs, and I'm just ??? Real talk, I'm kinda of a rule follower? I don't wanna make this guy mad, man, all I wanna do is hit on Satan (which we shall discuss soon) and see some family drama shenanigans. Lucifer says "don't go up those stairs" I'd be like "okay???" because up until now he hasn't given me a reason to not trust him (aside from being shady)??? But I have no choice but go talk to Belphegor (don't even get me started on this one) and I can just tell I'm gonna get in trouble for this. Could I not get there accidentally? Do I have to go there against Lucifer's direct orders? I don't think this is gonna go well, I just don't wanna get on his bad side hskshskshk

Lucifer's room, however, is everything to me, the deco is lovely (skeleton aside) and that bed, maaaannnn

Mammon started really annoying but he's been growing on me. I have a soft spot for dumb bitches like him, I guess? He just cracks me up? Not to be cheesy, but I like him as a friend? Maybe that'll change in the future, who knows, but for now that's how I see him, the best friend guy who is gonna be in love with you in every single route (read, Seven, but dumber). Can't wait for the angst. Looks wise I kind got him mixed with Solomon at some point (my dumbass though it was a bug) but all those Surprise Guest moments have me thinking he's way cuter than I gave him credit for at first.

I always feel bad for ratting him out to Lucifer, but boy, you and Veronica practically share one single brain cell, okay? I need to get my girl into Lucifer's good graces, I ain't about that troublemaker life

Levi is gonna be brief: No. He's not my type (otome or real life wise) and he annoys me. He reminded me a bit of Yoosung at first, and I'm trying to power though it like I did with him, but I can't. He keeps dragging me into his stuff and it's not cute, it makes me resent Levi. I'm not much of a tsundere enthusiast by nature, and I really don't like when they portray fans and gamers in this kinda "I'm weird, look at me I'm so weird and different" light ("have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on? that's weird" jsjdndmsksjdnsmskdjnddm). It comes across (to me at least) as childish and dumb (not endearing dumb, like Mammon). Idk, maybe I'll change my mind? Don't come for me, Levi stans

Still. I haven't interacted much with him but I'm obsessed with this man. Let me date you, okay? You look like posh book-cat-candle super model I wish existed. Let's be petty together. Since I haven't been playing long I hope I don't end up regretting putting my heart and soul into loving you. I'm doing all kinds of jobs to get intimacy go up with him, because guyghbkhiugiygufgfydddyghvjgvjg I'm all about that soft dom energy he has going for him, it's basically everything I love about Jumin Ham, but less CEO and more cute-bookstore-guy. Ideally, Satan is 100% my type, even if not the usual otome route I take first. Also, he is the Avatar of Wrath, which, along with Pride, is my most prominent sin, so I might be projecting

Kay, so Asmo. Asmo gives me all the Shingen vibes but realistic Shingen. Like, of Shingen is all about worshiping his MC, Asmo looks like he wants to be worshiped himself. Not judging, tho. That thing he said about loving himself above all things, I feel like it was supposed to be shady but I kinda agree? He's onto something. All this self-sacrifing thing is so romanticized. Can't we all be in healthy non co-dependent relationships? Love yourselves, kids. Which is why, while I said Satan is my ideal type of man, in real life, most of the people I've been with are Asmos. That being said, that's why he doesn't really work as an otome LI for me (at least for now). I'm here to live a fantasy of dating demons, not to see my exes. He is tempting tho. Who doesn't want a friend to do face masks and fuck from time to time, no strings attached until, "oh no, we both caught feelings, whatever shall we do" and then have it end well? (can you tell I'm projecting? my therapist is gonna love this). Poor Asmo, it's not his fault. Darling I'm sure you'll turn out to be lovely

On Beel, not much. I'm not into him, at least for now. his personality so far is that he's hungry. So what, man. I'm not here for that either. I don't find food particularly fun or sexy, it's just here to keep us alive (unless it's sweets, sweets are the best, but I'm having to cut down on sweets so), so he's not doing much for me. Gotta wait for that character development I guess

And to end this rant, Belphegor. Bitch, I've seen you on my demon cards, don't you dare tell Veronica you're human. But she's a dumb hoe, my girl Veronica, so she just doesn't question it???? I swear, this girl. Shady doesn't even cut it with him. Sorry, you're telling me what to do? Dude, lol, you're lucky this is Veronica and not me, because I'd be out of there as soon as you started this bull about me doing pacts with demons to get your ass out of that room. Don't prey on my empathy, it pisses me off. Spoilers tell me he's like a human-hater or something? Boy, fuck you, okay? Am I going to end up loving him? Who knows. For now he can rot in that room for all I care

Anyway, that's pretty much my first impressions of this game. I'll be playing it for some more time, until I get up to date on lessons and story or until colleges comes to drag me to literal hell, whatever comes first

Introducing Fitzgerald Montgomery.... yes that’s the most pretentious name in the world so he goes by Fitz

He was named after the author F. Scott by his parents. They own a HUGE book publishing company so anything u’ve read in the past ten years? There’s a chance the Montgomery family helped publish it

They’re a rich NYC family with the apartment in the UES, vacation home in the Hamptons and hunting cabin in upstate NY. They worked their way up from middle class life and started their own business so they take their status in society very seriously

His parents were actually relatively normal people for the first seven years of his life? Like yes they put a lot of pressure on him and his sister Auden. Yes they weren’t around a lot and he saw the nanny more often but they were just busy!! Going to galas and hobnobbing around Europe!!! And they gave him the very best of everything so it was ok!!!

Auden was like his partner in crime they were born exactly a year apart to the day (irish twins!!!) and wreaked havoc in their parent’s fancy penthouse. Their vintage wallpaper? Covered in kid scribbles. Their antique dining table? Turned into a blanket fort

That was until one fateful day (ominous carnival music plays in the background) when their dad was supposed to pick them up from school instead of the nanny. Alistair Montgomery was an INCREDIBLY busy man so he was trying to finish a work call and wrangle two incredibly hyped up toddlers with city traffic and pedestrians whooshing by them

Alistair let go of Auden’s hand for a second to signal to their town car driver and then suddenly she was just..... gone. No trace of her, nothing. 

A city wide hunt was set up to find the missing six year old. Helicopters, posters, everything. There was no expense the Montgomery’s would spare to get their daughter back

They never found any leads as to what happened to Auden Montgomery and she was never seen again. She was declared dead after a year and a funeral was held but tbh.... Fitz refuses to accept that she’s gan

Suddenly his perfect but imperfect life just turned into a total shit show. Calliope Fitzgerald blamed her husband for Auden’s disappearance, obvious, and Alistair never got over his guilt. He’d always had a tendency to drink too much, but coupled with depression and guilt this turned into full-blown alcoholism. 

He quit his job at his publishing company and Calliope, Fitz’s mom, was left to run the show. She was gone almost all the time and Fitz was left alone with his dad, who flew into abusive rages when drunk which was now almost every day

Fitz grew up hard and bitter with a sharpened tongue and it shows in the way he treats people. He doesn’t actively try to be an asshole but it just comes out lmao

In high school, he did everything he was supposed to do as the son of a prominent family. Dressed impeccably and attended every social function, even if he spent most of the night sneaking shots with his date in the coatroom and hitting on girls

He could be incredibly charming when he needed to be so any trouble he got into, he could pretty much smile and manipulate himself out of. 

He’s majoring in business and creative writing with the expectation that he’ll take over the family business

Okay secret time: so Fitz actually did care about one person after his sister’s disappearance. His senior year, he started dating Agnes Reid, the good girl of the school and anticipated valedictorian. Their relationship was like Noora/William from SKAM vibes

He really loved her a lot and they were planning on attending Yates together but then??? At a party during graduation week he drunkenly coaxed her up onto the roof of the house. He grabbed Agnes and tried to get her to dive into the pool with him from a 20 foot height. 

Fitz made it in safely but Agnes his her head on the died of the pool and was rushed to the hospital

Agnes fell into a coma and is still lying in a hospital somewhere today

In swoops Calliope Montgomery to make sure her son’s impeccable reputation and bright future wasn’t ruined. She paid off the girl’s family to tell everyone that Agnes was fine physically but suffered from a previously undiagnosed mental illness and would have to live in a group home

Ummmm so obviously this fucked up his view of relationships dhgfdsdf

BNHA role swap. The Villains are Yuuei Students: Shigaraki Tomura Edition

“I'm going to ignore the fact that Shigaraki would be called Shimura Tenko because I really don't like that name” this was my first thought and then a whole fanfic plot idea came out of it. 

Nana Shimura, after a night with her lover, accidentally got pregnant. This dude is foreign or a special agent, making it impossible for him to stay around. Nana and him spoke about abortion or giving the baby away. It was honestly the cleverest idea. However, Nana decided to have the baby as a single mom in the very last minute. She didn't tell him not to ruin his career... and well, mostly because it was against what they had arranged. (I actually hate this scenario, but I had to take the father out of the picture and that`s the only explanation it ocurred to me). 

Everything went fine because she had help from a lot of people to raise her kid (you can choose male or female, is not relevant to the story). Thanks to this, she could still continue with her job as, you know, world saviour. Nana`s child grew, fell in love, married and planned to have his/her own family quite fast (the next Shimura generation is simply a normal person. One who, although having a good quirk, never took an interest in following his/her mother`s steps). Here is when things got twisted. Nana had made a lot of enemies during her hero service years and the bad guy who hated her most, villain All Might, attempted to murder her offspring. The police and pro heroes arrived when he was torturing the pregnant woman. It was precisely Nana herself who ´saved` her daughter/ daughter-in-law. The doctors did all they could but unfortunately it was not enough to prevent her from dying. However, they were able to take the baby out. After a month of intensive care in the hospital, Tenko was like any other baby. Nana had no doubt this time, she could not keep him. That`s why handman is yet called Shigaraki Tomura in this au of mine. 

Kurogiri, a retired hero who used to work with the police, infiltrating in multiple crime gangs; became his legal tutor. In the present, Shigaraki is a 16-year-old hero wannabe and Nana is a still alive, kicking ass and quite young grandmother. Very few people know they are related, but Tomura is well aware of the whole story. The heroine tries to visit him as much as she can, taking extreme precaution measures. They get along very well. 

All this is like the background info, so the actual plot would start when Villain All Might`s successors (probably Deku and some other canon 1-A classmates) find out Shiggy`s existence and want to end him; to finish the job that got their master into prison. Maybe they try to recruit him to psychologically torture Nana... or directly try to kill him, not sure. Any way, they fail the first time, so the thing would be that now Tomura and some others who get stuck in the jambo mambo (probably the ones who canonly form the league of villains) have to survive on the run. 

Author Note: What do you think? (scratches the back of her neck) I would love to know your opinions. I am writing concrete headcanons now, so you get more info about other characters and how I imagine them in this parallel reality.  I am hoping to make a series out of this if I have enough time and inspiration. It is also a bit of a high school AU, to be honest. I've tried not to make it look like a soup opera but it sometimes just happens. I live for the tea.

Tomura would be this kid who never gets over his early adolescence emo phase: his hair is always covering his face, never shows the slightest amount of his pale skin and seems allergic to sunlight; wears hoodies on summer what the actual fuck; loves dark themes/topics and favourite colour is black, total edgelord, bitter sense of humor, MRC and BVB...

A videogame freak unable to open a book and study a bit. 

Watches anime because he is too lazy for the manga. 

Him as a student:

One of his teachers (All for one), for some reason, puts great trust on him, naming him class representative. 

Tomura is not amused. 

Complies to his duties, yes, but with extreme exasperation. 

AFO also believes Shigaraki has great potential as a hero. Insists on the idea that if he got better at fighting, with his quirk, he could disintegrate any dangerous weapon a villain had before they could hurt anyone. 

Moreover, this sensei affirms a Tomura in good shape would be impossible to escape as he is able to destroy any hiding place or possible obstacle someone tries to throw into the persecution. 

Considering all this, AFO stars training Shigaraki. 

Tomura is not giving much, tho. 

He is a bit depressed because he is sure he is never going to be like his grandmother. He passes all his courses with shameful results. He cannot find the motivation to make a bigger effort and just keeps going that way until... 

 a) he has a life changing experience when he disintegrates a broken building wall that was about to crush some kids. Tomura realises his quirk is very useful, actually perfect for rescue missions. 

b) Chisaki Kai arrives, transferred from Shiketsu. Contrary to Tomura, he is handsome, polite and with a quirk only destroying to create. He hates his guts. Although it seems to be one of the few people, if not the only one doing so. Kai is starting to become the yueei candidate for top class pro hero. Shigaraki does not like this a single bit. In his eyes, Chisaki is all a facade. Underneath that cool appearance he is just a weirdo prick with a superiority god complex. Tomura is not going to let someone like that enter the same category as Nana Shimura. That`s how he gets his act together (hate is a pure emotion, best fuel ever haha Nah, I am just a sucker for the Overhaul x Tomura relationship. Not in a shippy way, more like rivals). 

His hero costume:

Hasn't designed one yet. 

He starts thinking about it after the aforementioned epiphany. 

Interactions: 

Dabi is his best (probably only) friend, even if they are all the time bickering. He belongs to one of the most famous families in the hero society, him being the outcast. Tomura thinks of him as a total rebel without a cause. Despite his bad behaviour, Dabi has a natural talent that makes him one of the best at yuuei academy. 

The only thing Shiggy enjoys about being clas representative is the status it gives him. 

He cannot help but smile when he sees people who dislike him or would not talk to him in any other circumstance, be obliged to face him and treat him with great respect. 

Tomura gives a gay vibe and is popular with guys. 

Much to his disappointment because he is actually more into girls (I am saying “more” and not making him straight because my open minded multishipper ass always tends to give characters the possibility of discovering they are indeed bisexuals). 

Sadly for him, the only one who shows to have such interest is Toga Himiko, a first year unicorn lover, who is way too obsessed with him. 

Dabi, instead of helping him get rid of her (idk if you are aware of how ShigaToga is actually my favourite romantic ship for both of them BUT without the villainous context i can't see Tomura having the slightest interest on Himiko), encourages Toga and has lots of fun.

Oh boy- hm

Basically, the brothers (in the beginning) are really just teenagers messing around, hanging out with April (so they're a bit inexperienced, and are learning about their origins and how to work like a team/how to fight off bad guys/get used their new powers) and it pretty much builds up to them getting better and better (the character development is so goddamn satisfying istg-)

Don't expect them to be like the 2003 or 2012 version of the turtles, a lot of things were changed about their designs (all of them being different species of turtles), parts of their personalities and roles in the team (Raph being the leader now, instead of Leo) and the show itself is just a whole different vibe and has a new story to tell

In the very first episode they discover a hidden city under New York and encounter an alchemist (who will be very damn important later btw-) along with the Foot Clan. Thanks to the alchemist mutants start to appear around New York causing trouble, while the Foot Clan is lurking in the shadows, planning. This is pretty much the MAIN line, everything will build up from there. The turtles kick the new mutants' asses and get caught into the Foot's mess

Since it's pretty much a "beginnings" type of story, a lot of the villains in Rise are original to it, expect some reimagined versions of classic TMNT villains (and tiny references here and there about others)

Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT judge Rise's Splinter too harshly! That's all I will say about him

Overall, as someone who also grew up with the turts, Rise feels... refreshing! Very fun and new, yet still very much the TMNT I remember (idk if this makes sense-)

The action is great, the animation is amazing, the boys are a joy to watch, the new villains are pretty neat and the story just grabs by the scruff and will take you on a ride

Some episodes are super fun, some are badass, some will tear your heart out and stomp on it-
