⟢ ┈ 𝐞𝐯'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 | my new fav thing EVER
Tumblr media
The bass shakes the floor beneath your heels, the scent of top-shelf liquor and expensive cologne thick in the air. The postgame party is exactly what you expected—too many people, too much noise, and a lingering sense of competition that doesn’t quite fade even after the game’s final whistle. Cowboys and Bengals players mix like oil and water, good-natured jabs tossed between sips of whiskey, the occasional laugh laced with something sharper.
You don’t want to be here.
But when the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders make an appearance, it’s not optional. It’s PR. It’s “team camaraderie.” It’s smiling through gritted teeth while some dude in a suit with more money than personality tells you how impressive it is that you can do a perfect high kick in full glam.
You adjust the hem of your dress, shifting against the leather couch tucked in the VIP section. It’s not that you’re bad at playing the part. You just don’t fit the mold the way you’re supposed to. The other girls—prim, polished, always camera-ready—glide through the room like they were born for this. You, on the other hand, are already toeing the line of “too much.” Too opinionated, too unpredictable, too unwilling to be anything other than exactly who you are.
And yet, you’re still here. Because when you dance, they shut up about the rest.
“Didn’t think you’d actually show,” a voice drawls beside you, cutting through the music.
Your gaze shifts, locking onto the last person you expected to seek you out tonight. Joe Burrow.
His suit jacket is slung over his arm, the sleeves of his crisp white button-down rolled up just enough to give him that effortlessly put-together look. He’s got that half-smirk that’s made him a social media obsession, and yet there’s something else in his expression—curiosity, maybe. Amusement.
You raise a brow. “Didn’t think you knew who I was.”
“Oh, I know who you are.” His eyes flicker, something sharp and knowing in them. “Hard to miss the cheerleader who doesn’t play by the rules.”
You tilt your head, feigning offense. “I play by the rules.”
Joe huffs a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “Nah. You don’t. You just make it look like you do.”
And there it is. The first crack in the game, the unspoken understanding settling between you like a drawn line in the sand.
It should be nothing.
But somehow, it doesn’t feel like nothing.
You lean back against the couch, one arm draped lazily over the backrest, the other toying with the rim of the drink you don’t actually want. The ice clinks softly as you swirl it, eyes flicking back to Joe, unimpressed but not entirely disinterested.
“Wow,” you deadpan. “Joe Burrow knows my reputation. I guess I can retire now.”
Joe huffs a quiet laugh, the kind that barely shakes his shoulders. “Just saying, you don’t blend in.”
You lift a brow. “Neither do you.”
His smirk deepens, just a little. “Difference is, I’m supposed to stand out.”
You roll your eyes. “God, you’re worse than I thought.”
Joe blinks, feigning offense. “Worse?”
“Yeah.” You tilt your head, taking him in. “I figured you’d at least let me get a word in before pulling the ‘I’m Joe Burrow’ card.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to.”
The smirk on his face falters just a fraction, like he’s recalculating his approach. He came over here thinking he’d charm you with minimal effort, just like he probably does with every other girl in this room. You can’t blame him. You’re used to guys like him—ones who assume that a few smooth lines and a good jawline will be enough to win you over. It’s exhausting, really.
Joe, to his credit, seems to pick up on it quickly. He shifts his stance, dropping the easy arrogance just a notch, watching you like he’s trying to figure out a new play mid-game.
“So, you don’t like football players,” he guesses.
“I never said that.”
“You don’t seem impressed.”
“I’m just not easily impressed.”
Joe clicks his tongue, shaking his head like he’s been personally challenged. “Tough crowd.”
You let out a short laugh, finally taking a sip of your drink. The warmth spreads through you, smoothing the edges of your already sharp tongue. “Look, I get it. You’re Joe Cool, media darling, golden boy, future Hall of Famer, blah, blah, blah. But none of that tells me who you actually are.”
Joe’s quiet for a beat, like he wasn’t expecting you to cut through the bullshit so quickly. Most people don’t.
He studies you. “You wanna know who I am?”
“I wanna know if you can hold a conversation that doesn’t involve your highlight reel.”
Joe grins, shaking his head like you’re more trouble than he bargained for—but not the kind he wants to walk away from.
“Alright,” he says, leaning in slightly. “Let’s make it fair. Since you’re so uninterested in my career, how about I ask about yours?”
You narrow your eyes. “Go for it.”
He tilts his head. “You always wanted to be a cheerleader?”
You pause for a fraction of a second. It’s not a bad question, but it’s not the usual small talk either. It’s got an edge to it, like he’s actually curious.
“No,” you admit. “I wanted to be an astronaut.”
Joe snorts. “Serious?”
“As a heart attack.” You smirk. “But apparently, NASA frowns upon people who talk back to their instructors.”
Joe laughs now, really laughs, and it does something to his face—makes it lighter, less perfectly put-together. It’s a nice look on him.
“So, you settled for the next most intense program?” he asks.
“Something like that.” You glance around the room, at the Cowboys players, the other cheerleaders, the high-profile guests all schmoozing and clinking glasses. “DCC is its own version of NASA. Just with more hairspray and stricter calorie counts.”
Joe hums, considering that. “And yet, you don’t seem the type to take orders.”
You shrug. “I don’t. But I’m really, really good at what I do.”
His gaze lingers for half a second too long. “Yeah,” he says, low and thoughtful. “I bet you are.”
There’s something about the way he says it that makes your breath catch for just a second—not because you’re flustered, but because it feels like he actually sees you, past the sequins and forced smiles and PR obligations.
You tap your nails against your glass, breaking whatever was starting to settle between you. “Well, congrats,” you say, all light and teasing again. “You managed to hold a conversation without bringing up your own stats.”
Joe grins, lazy and triumphant. “And?”
You take a slow sip, watching him over the rim of your glass. “You’re not completely insufferable.”
Joe laughs, leaning back into the couch. “I’ll take it.”
The first date wasn’t supposed to happen.
At least, not in your mind.
But Joe had this way of slipping through the cracks of your carefully built walls, catching you off guard in a way that wasn’t annoying, but intriguing. So, when he had looked at you across that crowded party and said, “One drink. No football talk,” you had rolled your eyes, but ultimately, you had agreed.
One drink turned into three. A post-midnight drive through downtown. A completely ridiculous bet over who could name more obscure 90s songs (you won, obviously). And then, somehow, a second date.
And that was the real surprise.
Because by then, you figured you had him pegged. Star quarterback, smooth operator, probably used to women falling over themselves to impress him. But the Joe you saw away from the cameras, when it was just the two of you in a dimly lit hole-in-the-wall bar or sprawled out on his couch, eating takeout straight from the boxes, was different. He was easy in a way that felt familiar, like a song you hadn’t heard in years but still knew all the words to.
And he got you.
Most guys would tense up when you made some sarcastic comment, unsure if they should be amused or offended. Joe just smirked and shot one right back, quick and sharp like one of his passes. The banter was effortless, the chemistry undeniable, but it never felt forced.
It felt like you’d known him forever.
Which was dangerous.
Because you weren’t supposed to like him this much.
But a few months flew by before you could think too hard about it.
One minute, you were rolling your eyes at him in a Dallas bar. The next, you were sneaking glances at your phone in the middle of DCC rehearsals, trying not to smile at whatever nonsense he had just texted you.
Then came the flights.
You found yourself booking tickets to Cincinnati more often than you’d ever expected, trading in your Texas sunsets for the sharp chill of Ohio air, showing up in his city like you belonged there. And the crazy part? It never felt inconvenient. You had never been the type to rearrange your schedule for a guy, but with Joe, it was different. He made the effort too—catching flights to see you between games, showing up unannounced just to grab dinner, like it was the most normal thing in the world.
It should’ve been overwhelming, but it wasn’t.
Because nothing about Joe was ever boring.
You’d expected the excitement in the beginning—the flirty back-and-forth, the teasing, the lingering looks that stretched longer than they should. But what you hadn’t expected was the way he made everything feel lighter. How he made you laugh when you were dead on your feet after an exhausting game day. How he somehow always knew when you needed to talk and when you just needed to sit in comfortable silence.
And yeah, the tension was there. Always.
You weren’t blind, and Joe sure as hell wasn’t either. There were moments—when his hand lingered on your lower back a second too long, when you caught him watching you with that unreadable expression, when he pulled you into a hug that felt like it meant something more.
But neither of you pushed it. Not yet.
For now, it was enough to just exist in whatever this was.
And, for the first time in a long time, you weren’t in any rush to define it.
The New York City skyline stretched high above the venue, lights twinkling like they were in on the secret that tonight was something different.
Joe didn’t hide you.
He hadn’t from the start, really, but there was a difference between showing up for each other in private and standing next to him now, his hand resting low on your back, his fingers pressing into the fabric of your dress like he wanted everyone to see exactly where you belonged.
And you?
You looked good enough to ruin a man’s career.
Your dress was the kind that turned heads—sleek, with just enough edge to remind people that you weren’t the typical quarterback’s girlfriend. Joe wasn’t intimidated by it, wasn’t the type to shrink when his girl demanded attention. No, if anything, he was thriving on it. Walking into the party with you on his arm, chin high, like he knew for a fact that you were the hottest couple in the room.
And you were.
It didn’t matter that the place was full of some of the most famous athletes in the league, that models and influencers and A-listers milled around with expensive drinks in hand—no one looked as good as the two of you together.
Joe left you only once, leaning down to murmur, “Gonna get us a drink, don’t go too far.”
You weren’t worried about being left alone. You’d been in these rooms before, could handle yourself just fine.
But apparently, someone didn’t get the memo.
The moment Joe was out of earshot, a presence settled beside you—too close, too confident.
“Damn, haven’t seen you in a minute.”
You already knew you were going to hate him before you even looked.
And sure enough, when you turned, there he was. A Cowboys player, one you’d interacted with just enough to know he was exactly the type you had no patience for. Cocky in a way that wasn’t charming, self-important in a way that made your skin itch.
You barely had time to open your mouth before he bulldozed on.
“So, what, you finally got tired of playing in the kiddie pool and upgraded?” He grinned, not even waiting for you to respond. “Figured it was only a matter of time. The whole ‘untouchable cheerleader’ thing was getting old.”
You smiled. Smirked, really. Because this? This was amusing.
He thought you were flustered. Thought you were scrambling for a way out.
Like you hadn’t been shutting down men like him since the first time you ever put on that DCC uniform.
“Oh, yeah,” you said, voice smooth as silk. “Joe’s an upgrade, alright.” You tilted your head, eyes dragging over him in an exaggerated once-over. “But considering what I was working with before, it really didn’t take much.”
His smile flickered, but he was too stubborn to let it go. “C’mon, you don’t have to pretend with me. I know you, remember? Back when you were just another Dallas girl trying to play hard to get?”
You actually laughed at that.
Not a fake, polite one. A real one. Because this was just sad.
“Wow,” you mused. “I’ve gotta give it to you, you commit to the bit. Most guys would’ve tapped out by now, but you? You’re still going. That’s dedication.”
His jaw tensed just slightly. “I’m just saying, no need to act all high and mighty. We both know you used to—”
“Used to what?”
Your voice was still sweet, still playful, but the underlying steel was there. And when you took a slow sip of your drink, watching him over the rim, it was clear you were letting him dig his own grave.
Before he could figure out how to claw his way out, a shadow loomed beside you.
Joe.
But not in the swooping, Oh no! My girl is in distress! way.
No, he was calm. Casual. Like he had all the time in the world. His presence alone was enough to shift the energy in the conversation, but you didn’t even acknowledge him yet. You wanted to see just how long it would take for the guy in front of you to realize he’d lost.
Turns out, not long.
Joe didn’t say anything, just leaned slightly against the bar, watching with mild interest. But the weight of his presence alone did something to your uninvited guest—made him shift uncomfortably, made his easy confidence crack just a little.
And that? That was satisfying.
“I was just catching up with your girl,” the Cowboy muttered, backtracking so fast you almost wanted to laugh.
Joe didn’t miss a beat. “Yeah?” He glanced at you, finally acknowledging you with a knowing smirk. “You having fun?”
You took another sip, grinning. “Oh, loads.”
The guy beside you tensed. “I was just—”
“Leaving?” you supplied helpfully.
His mouth opened. Closed. Then, without another word, he turned and disappeared into the crowd.
Joe chuckled, finally handing you the drink he had left to get. “You were having way too much fun with that.”
You shrugged, taking a sip. “Can you blame me?”
He shook his head, draping an arm lazily around your waist, pulling you in just slightly. “Guess not.”
And the night went on.
Just you and Joe. The hottest couple in the room.

Oh I adore getting your reblogs! It's always so fun getting to read someone's thoughts about things! But I'm also so happy that you enjoyed this one!
more for you!
Many thoughts...
He’s never been able to resist a bad girl wrapped up like the girl-next-door.
I can 100% see that-- that man never stood a chance! he likes to play the game, especially when the girl he's interested in is leading the way 🤭
He knew how good his biceps looked in the short sleeves of his uniform. And the way his pants clung to his legs and ass. He’d been spending a lot of his free time in the gym lately and it showed.
Yeah, let's show it off 😌-- he's such a slut (affectionate)! but if you ask him he'd just say he's a feminist and doing it for the female gaze, lmao
He wanted that smile turned on him. Wanted to see if the look in your bright eyes would be just as playful with your gaze pinned on him instead. He wanted to be the one making you laugh.
A man on a mission-- my favorite little attention whore
It’s not like he’s going to go over there and lick your face like a kid might try and claim dibs on a cupcake.
Lmao that would be funny though 😅-- maybe next time, lmaooo. but also he knows what he's bringing to the able and backs himself all the way, he's not afraid of a little competition (not that there is any, haha)
Bradley’s never been one to shy away from making an entrance.
Oh, we all know 😅-- the cockwalk alone deserved an oscar
“Well, shucks,” you say with an over exaggerated shrug. “What about if I said I was roped into waking up at an ungodly hour to catch a flight up here because my best friend’s boyfriend is a Naval aviator and she wanted me to keep her company for the ‘casual five-hour cruise’, as you called it.” “Now that I believe,” he drawled. “So, what’s his name?” “Well, she calls him Jacob. He has one of those silly callsigns too, but I always forget it,” you scrunch your nose adorably as you search for it, “Something-man.” “You mean Bagman?” “Yeah, that sounds right.”
A woman teasing Jake? Bradley is probably thinking about proposing right then and there😅-- the easiest way to win over bradley bradshaw is to dunk on jake at any given opportunity, lol
“A private tour? Lucky me,” you purr. “Lead the way Lieutenant Commander Bradley Rooster Bradshaw.” You knew what you were doing, he’d give you that. And he was eating it up with a spoon ready to ask for second, third, and fourth helpings.
😌🤭😌🤭-- she's got him soooo wrapped around her finger, and good for her it's what she deserves!
And he knows he shouldn’t, that he could get in some big trouble for showing you areas that weren’t explicitly on the official list of tour stops. But he’s always been more of the apologize later type. Plus, he hasn’t been on this ship for very long, it’s not his fault if he manages to get conveniently turned around.
Definitely not his fault 🤷🏻‍♀️😅-- he's innocent your honor!
You reach up and run a playful finger along the brim of his cap, “So what’s a girl got to do to get a turn wearing the hat?” His mind flashes with images of the last time he’d let a woman wear it. “I’ll have you know this is technically Naval property, they don’t let just anyone have one. You usually have to earn it. But for you?” he pauses and gives you a heated once over, “I’ll let you try it on for free.”
His hat has probably been worn by multiple women before 🤭-- that hat has definitely seen some action that's for sure, lmao. and who he is who deny anyone who wants to try it on for size 🤭
He likes that you want to know these details about his job, he likes that he gets to share this with you. Even if the clock is ticking down before he has to get back on deck.
That's so cute 😍-- he doesn't often get to share this side of things so indepthly with anyone, he's definitely not missing his moment here!
“It represents strong ties, baby. It’s a symbol for the supportive partners and wives of those serving onboard,” he whispers low and sweet into your ear. “Bradley,” you sigh as you turn your head towards him for a kiss. It’s desperate and wet. And he can almost taste the neediness of your moan on his tongue. He’s never done anything like this while on duty on a ship before, and the thrill of it has his veins thrumming with adrenaline.
There always has to be a first time 😌-- the man likes to live on the edge! the adrenaline rush of it all! plus everyone else is busy, and it is called the ready room after all haha
“You’ve had me hook, line and sinker since the damn second I saw you.” He grinds himself against your ass and you whimper at the contact. “What do you want from me? I’ll be so good to you, so good for you.” “Fuck me.” He can feel his pulse thundering in his throat. “I’m trying to,” you whine.
Oh I bet he does 🤭🤤-- we all know that man doesn't half ass anything and we thank him for his service!
And he’ll sure as shit never be able to be in a Ready Room again without getting a hard-on. The memory of you bent over the table before him will forever be ingrained in his brain.
🤭🤭🤭-- she's definitely made a lasting impression on him!
“I see you found your gift early, baby.”
Ahhhh omg-- i love a good twist!! and this one is one of my favorites!! 🤭🤭🤭
Bradley would never forget the first time he saw you that night at the bar downtown last year during Fleet Week. He had noticed you right away, it had been impossible not to. You and your girlfriends had been all done up in hot pink outfits for the Bachelorette party you were out celebrating. Your friend had flounced right up to Jake taking the shot of whiskey out of his hand before swallowing it down then cheekily offering to buy him a replacement. Hangman had been wrapped around her finger ever since.
Love that they both met each other's partners on the same night out 😅-- i ended up writing about the night they met! if you ever want to read it it's called "wildest dreams"! it's another cheeky and fun one, but I loved getting to explore just what happened the night they met!
He could never be mad at you, especially not with his necklace around your neck. You were his, and he was so gone for you. “It looks so pretty on you,” he tells you softly as his fingers brush over your collarbones.
Oh he is so in love🥰-- he's so down bad!
“Oh my god, Rooster, I can’t we defiled Naval property.” You giggle as you wrap your legs around him to pull him closer to circle your arms around his neck. “I hate to break it to you, but you’ve been defiling Naval property ever since you brought me home with you the night we met.”
Tumblr media
^^ the most perfect gif in existence, lmao. they're both go getters ahahahaha
You take that cap off of your head and set it back on his, and lean in to kiss him on the cheek, “Glad I’m getting a good return on my taxes then.”
Facts 🤷🏻‍♀️-- i wouldn't mind getting a return on my taxes this way, just saying... lol
“Maybe it has a little something to do with the man in the uniform,” you make a little hum as you check him out. “You’re so tan, Bradley, have you been using the sunscreen I sent with you-”
Wear that SPF!!-- my fav hc is that he's always getting sunburnt because he just doesn't have the patience to put it on.
When you’re both back on the open flight deck he walks you over to the railing along the edge of the ship and wraps you up in his arms to watch the coastline crawl by with his last few moments of freedom.
Ahh I loved all of this so much 🥰-- i'm so happy you liked it!! thank you for reading!!
Hey, Sailor
Summary: It’s Fleet Week and Rooster would rather be anywhere else than on the flight deck of the USS Portland. That is, until a pretty thing in a sundress catches his eye and then suddenly his day is looking up.
Pairing: Bradley”Rooster” Bradshaw x Female Reader
Length: 5.8K
Warnings: Flirty Banter, Smut, and Bradley Bradshaw in Summer Whites (Minors DNI)
Note: When @roosterforme asks you to write her a Fleet Week fic, you write the Fleet Week fic! Here you go, Em!  💛
Tumblr media
Normally, Rooster loved Fleet Week.
He loved the lively atmosphere and the parades. He loved the free drinks that were handed to him as soon as he entered a bar. And he especially loved all the attention he got from women when he wore his Summer Whites.
He usually came back to the ship looking less than pristine with lipstick on the collar of his uniform and hidden on other places on his body.
The USS Portland was teaming with excited families and camera-happy civilians taking in the sights from deck of the transport ship as they settled in for the five-hour journey to the San Diego. It was a Fleet Week tradition to welcome people aboard for an immersive experience, picking them up from a port further up North and then cruising along the coast before making their final docking for the week.
There were grills set up on the deck and the smell of flame kissed hamburgers and hotdogs mixed with the sea salt air. The sun was shining and the mood was light.
But this year, Rooster simply could not be bothered to give a fuck.

Boxerbf Sukuna! Who always have you over at his house the night before an important match. It helps with the stress he says.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who always put on a TV show before you two settle into the couch for cuddles. Usually the cuddling session is a mix of him relaxing against you as you ask him questions about the match tomorrow.
"You packed an extra pair of shorts this time right? Remember what happened last time"
"yeah I did"
"Did you iron the clothes?"
"Uraume took care of it"
"That new protein shake your nutritionist recommend, Did you take it?"
"Already did"
"What about the snacks during the game tomorrow? did Uraume-
"oh my god baby relax, it's all taken care of"
He says in somewhat of an annoyed tone as he pulls you even closer to his chest, tightening his grip around you. But deep down he loves it when you are concerned about him like this.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who insists that having a good time before the match tomorrow isn't a problem to him but you reject the offer firmly because you know how Sukuna gets whenever you two started something.
It always ends up dragging for hours so no, your bf needs his beauty sleep for tomorrow.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who pouts slightly when you say no to him but decides to settle with the short make out session instead, better than nothing he thinks.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who teasingly steals few touches from your sensitive areas, clearly trying to rile you up but stops after seeing the glare you gave him.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who never seems to be the type to get much nervous before matches. Because of his Overconfidence? His never ending Ego? maybe. But his ability to stand strong in situations like this always makes your heart flutter.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who always makes sure you get the best VIP seat to his match, You always need to be in the front lines where he can see you from clearly when he beat up his opponent back to his ancestors.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who always find a way to bring you up in the Media press. Sukuna is widely known by the audience for being a down bad "simp" for his girlfriend as well as a complete disaster for his opponents.
"Mr Ryomen, Do you know there's a whole talk in the internet about you being a simp for your girlfriend? What do you have to say to people who spread things like that?"
"Keep spreading the truth I guess. The internet definitely needs it more"
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who hurries back to his changing room and jumps straight into your arms. Despite your constant nagging for him to get patched up first.
"Baby did you saw the jab-cross I threw before he hit the ground?"
"Yeah it was Amazing Ryo!"
"I did good than the last match, didn't I?"
"Yeah you always do"
"Then I deserve way more than that cheap kiss you gave me earlier don't I?"
"Get patched up first you freak, Uraume's waiting"
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who lets you both into his house as he holds your waist with one arm. He let go of your waist as he makes his way for the bathroom while murmuring something about showering first.
As he started to shower you turn on the tv with the intention of seeing the live match you saw today in the digital screen. And it immediately cuts to a interview Sukuna did just right after winning.
Boxerbf Sukuna! Who seems enthusiastic as ever talking to the reporters about the match he did and the opponent he beat. Not long after he adds a little appreciation from his part.
"My manager Uraume helped me with a lot of stuff so I truly appreciate them. Also my girlfriend stayed up beside me every night when I practiced and supported me in everything, this win is hers as much as it is mine."
"if you're watching this I love you baby"
A warm feeling start to take over your chest as you hear his words. The man who's appreciated and idolized by millions saying these things so casually to you, you still can't get your mind around it.
Then the reporter use his luck to ask a risky question one more time.
"it's look like you two have a great relationship together, what do you think about marriage Mr Ryomen?"
To that question Sukuna doesn't respond but instead returns a well knowing little grin as he waves off the interview.
"Tch why did they ruin the moment by asking that, now it looks like he doesn't want to marry me" you said to yourself.
Just as you were about to leave to the kitchen to grab a snack, something shining inside the closet that Sukuna forgot to shut earlier catches your eyes.
Hidden by the cloth piles it was a little jewelry box that had familiar initials on top of it.
It was none other than yours and Sukuna's.
Wait..
No that can't be, Yeah maybe this is the earrings he wanted to give you before.
But much to your surprise the box opened up to reveal a gorgeous wedding ring. A big diamond you sure costed atleast 5 six figures alone sitting on top of it. Inside the ring you and Sukuna's initials were carved into it making it seem even more special to your eyes.
Your heart is jumping from excitement and happiness, everything about your life is starting to get better and better and you can't help but thank Sukuna for it.
You don't want to ruin the surprise he planned for you of course. So you put the box back to it's place and sit on the bed till he's done showering patiently but the stupid smile you had since earlier didn't left your face for once.
"Alright I'm done showering let's slee- what's with you?"
"What's with me? nothing Ryo"
"You're are smiling very creepily woman"
"Ryo that's mean! My smile is not creepy!"
"Yeah whatever come here, freak"
Sukuna says as he drags you closer to his side of the bed while turning off the bedside lamp at the same time. Your bodies intertwine with each other like it was always meant to be. Sukuna's hands wrapping around you as he buries his face into your neck.
"Ryo?"
"hmm"
"I love you"
You can feel a small smile tugging at his lips.
"I love you too princess, more than anything"

Interview with Rick Celebrini, ft. some of his thoughts on the Sharks team culture and the Celebrini and Smith friendship, how often he brought Macklin around the Warriors as a kid, and part of what he says to him on the phone before every game, among other things.
Experience sports talk radio! Or save yourself listening to a couple of guys saying Daddy Rick far too many times and read the transcript below. Slightly trimmed and ads removed, original here.
Greg Silver: What's going on everybody! We're focusing on one family and one family only. No it's not the Papa family, it's not the Silver family, in the last 25 minutes of the show it's the Celebrini family. Macklin is going to be joining us coming up in about 15 minutes, but first, it is Warriors Director of Sports Medicine and Performance Dr. Rick Celebrini hanging on the guest line. What's happening Rick?
Rick Celebrini (RC): Hey guys, how's it going?
Silver: It's going great! Great to have you on, Greg Silver, Greg Papa, and I guess I just want to start with a Warriors related question because everybody's going to be wondering about the health of Steph Curry and I know that he's been navigating this knee tendonitis throughout the season. So just if you could tell everyone kind of how he's navigating that, if it's continuing to improve over time, if doing that back-to-back the other night was a lot of wear and tear on him, what's kind of the status of the superstar of Golden State?
RC: Man, you guys are starting with a tough one, you know I can't ans- I can't divulge that kind of information. But I will tell you Steph's in a great place, just the professional that he is and how committed he is to every aspect of his professional and personal life. He's a treat to work with and he's in a good place I think physically and mentally.
Greg Papa: And he's in good hands with you. Now we did not invite Dr. Rick on, we invited Daddy Rick on 'cause your son is coming on. And you were on the Dad's trip, we saw ya, Greg went and watched him play against Sid the Kid, what a thrill that was to score the game winning goal. The game last night in Seattle didn't go great but he did score a goal in the third period (transcriber's note: he did not score, he assisted on Toffoli's goal. KNBR is not quite beating the doesn't care about hockey allegations). Rick just how is it, being able to watch your son play at this level, how many games do you get to watch him in person?
RC: Well, like I tell everyone I'm adjusting to now becoming Macklin's dad, I'm not Rick Celebrini anymore, I'm known as Macklin's dad (chuckles as he speaks) so I'm adjusting to that. It's surreal to be honest with you, it's incredible to see him make this transition, to see him have the kind of season that he's having right now. And I guess, more than anything, as a father, to see him kind of do it with the joy and just the good nature and the fun that he's having doing it? It's one thing to sort of see what he's doing, but also you see guys like the Steph Currys and the Steve Kerrs that preach having joy in this environment which is not always easy to do and to see him doing that at 18 years old with all the pressures and expectations that come with that transition is probably the most satisfying from a parent's perspective.
Silver: Alright, so enough of me prying Dr. Rick, I'm going to focus on Daddy Rick as well. So just what would you say your influence has been on Macklin being NHL ready and just kind of knowing so much about preparation, being in the right physical state and all of that. He's only 19 years old which is hard to believe but how have some of your habits translated to him as he's really testing the waters in the NHL for the first time and killing it? (transcriber's note: he's 18)
RC: Yeah, you know guys it's not just this past offseason, it's sort of been something that I'm really blessed and fortunate to have. Four kids that have their own sort of unique sport-related goals and they all sort of have a dream to get to the highest level of sport. So having a passion and professionally being in this world, there's nothing more enjoyable or satisfying than to take some of those professional knowledge and learning and apply them to your kids. So the four kids, some of them tell people, some people kick back and maybe watch football or go golfing, I have my greatest joy and relaxation when I'm out working with the kids in the off season (transcriber's note, I'm not sure "some of them tell people" is correct). The four of them quite often work out together. This past season for Macklin has been a little in that you're trying to get him, as much as you can for an 18 year old, physically and mentally ready for the rigors of an 82-game season coming off a college season which, again, it's a challenge but he's as professional as you can get at 18 years old in terms of his approach and his commitment to his craft.
Papa: And he's got great lineage obviously, with you being a former soccer player and your whole family, I know his brother is a great hockey player as well (Translator's note: there are two brothers, both of whom are play hockey). You've been in the Bay Area, we've watched you work with the Warriors for years since you joined them in August of 2018, Dr. Rick. Macklin was just a baby back then, how much did you bring him around the Warrior locker room where he could interact with Steph and Klay and Dray and Andre and even Kevin Durant when he was there?
RC: Yeah, I wouldn't say in all honesty that is was a lot, but I think that the opportunities that he and the others did have, one, were really impactful, just to see how these guys approach their craft and two, it's just the influential age that it happened at. I think it was kind of that perfect timing of just as they're getting very serious in terms of where they want to go with their sport, being exposed to that type of environment.
Silver: Talking to Dr. Rick Celebrini here slash Daddy Rick as Macklin will be joining us in about ten minutes and I know this has been quite an awesome experience for you Rick, so just kind of want to get your sense — I don't know how much you've gotten to observe the season, I know the two seasons, NBA and NHL, have quite a bit of overlap, but what's your sense so far of the dynamic between a lot of the youth on this Sharks team and some of the older vets. How do you think Macklin's integrated himself with a lot of these vets, but also having other young guys like Eklund and Askarov making a name for themselves at the same time?
RC: Yeah, especially just coming off this father's trip I got the opportunity to see it sort of first hand and first of all, they have a great group of just people. Never mind players and athletes but just people that the dads — you can see kind of where their sons have gotten it from. Macklin, I think, has really benefited form coming in as a rookie with Will Smith, they've developed a really close bond and friendship and so I think that's helped immensely. You mentioned some of the other young guys, I think there's a really nice balance of rookies, and the veterans that they do have around there have taken a real interest in helping these guys along. So I think all that has helped. I mean, obviously it hasn't necessarily translated in terms of results for the team, but if you're building for the future I think they're going about it the right way in terms of getting good quality people to support these kids as they're building for the future,
Papa: Yeah, Will Smith and Macklin go back to BC BU I know, and that great rivalry and the Beanpot there in Boston and everything and to hang with his dad I know was great for you in Seattle. The one thing that struck me as interesting is that Macklin is back home. he could live with you and your wife and your family, but the way they do it in the NHL is unlike any other sport where he's actually with Jumbo Joe. And what Will Smith is living with Patty? I don't remember Brandin Podziemski moving in with the Currys when he got here Rick. How is — we'll ask your son, he's coming on in a few minutes, we'll ask him directly, but why doesn't he just live at home with you and your wife and your family rather than trimming Jumbo Joe's beard?
RC: (Laughs) Well, first, from a practical logistics standpoint we're out in Livermore so with traffic, as we all know in the Bay it can be a monster, so he's far more proximal to the rink with Joe. But I think over and above that, just the incredible value you have of him living with the family. With Joe's family, they've all been so welcoming, and to have a former number one overall pick who's had an unbelievable hall of fame career to lean on and to be guided by and to keep perspective and things that I can't necessarily relate to, to Macklin, I think it's just been so incredibly valuable for him. Like you said, hockey is unique in that way, stories of Sidney Crosby with Mario Lemieux, the list goes on in terms of different individuals that have had that type of setup. I think it's an incredibly valuable way to transition into the pro game for especially an 18 year old like Macklin.
Silver: So we are having him on in a moment, and since it's such a short interview Rick, we want to make sure we maximize the minutes we get with him but, is there anything you want us to — is there any message that you have for Macklin that we can play coming back for him.
Papa: Make you bed, brush your teeth, wash behind your ears.
RC: Yeah, that's right (laughing). No, I would say, my message to him is, he actually calls before every game, we've done this for probably the last four or five years and I really cherish that time. One of the things that I consistently remind him before every single game is just to enjoy it and to keep perspective and to find the, even in the grind of the season at this point, is just to play with joy, have fun, it's what he's always loved to do. So that's probably the main message.
Papa: (Transcriber's note: at this point Papa relays that George Kittle's father hand writes him a note before each game and says it's nice the Celebrinis can have a similar moment of connection, which is cut for time/I didn't want to transcribe it) Because you're so well versed in the body and how to get through it, it's a hard challenge, He's just 18 years of age, the NHL schedule is grueling, they've got little time off before they play their next game. What's the advice to him as far as getting through this first NHL season as opposed to a much shorter collegiate season, Rick?
RC: Yeah, it's two-fold. One, get your recovery when you can and try to really maximize that, that's sleep, that's all the different modalities. Fortunately I've got peace of mind in that Mike Potenza, who was my performance director here with the Warriors for the last couple years, I actually stole him from the Sharks and now they stole him back. Selfishly for Macklin I'm thrilled that Mike is back there with the Sharks and looking after the group and specifically Macklin. Again, it's being as professional as you can with taking care of yourself. In this day and age it's unlike back in the old days where guys could have late nights and still kind of get by and play themselves into shape. It's just so demanding, the pace that the league's played at, the physicality, the expectations on and off the ice, it's really something that you have to, again, maximize your recovery when you can.
Silver: Rick, thanks so much for coming on and I hope it's not rude to cut you short for your child but in a true fatherly fashion I would say I think you're gonna be OK with it.
RC: As Macklin's dad, yeah, I'm great with it (laughs).
Papa: Anything you want us to relay to him since we're going to talk to him in a moment? Anything we should tell him?
RC: Tell him to give me a call later.
(Laughter)
Papa: Call daddy. Call daddy, Macklin.
RC: (overlapping slightly with previous) Yeah, or maybe call his mom. Even more important.
Papa: Yeah, call your — forget about dad, call mom, would ya.

Lavender for Royalty; Sage for Wisdom (Book 1) Chapter Seventeen
Kyoya Ootori x Reader
Chapter Seventeen: Hyacinth for Game
Summary: The Football Club and the Host Club take on one another in the game for the main salon for the club expo.
“A record-number of participants and a cross-campus race,” said (Y/N), looking at the flyer about the competition. “Very different from last year.”
            “Indeed,” said Kyoya.
“How can I help you win?” said (Y/N). “You must have a plan.”
Kyoya smirked. “I do indeed.” He looked at the rest of the Host Club as they did pointless exercises. “But it requires them to cease this wasteful effort.” He glanced at them. “You just need to keep your wits about you, and I trust you can.” They had a good head on their shoulders.
“I thought they’d all be fine athletes,” said Haruhi.
“We are,” said the twins. “Just not on the level of the Football Club. What about you?”
“Haruhi’s junior high records show that she takes over eleven seconds for a fifty-meter sprint,” said Kyoya.
“…I’m not good at sports,” said Haruhi.
“That’s okay!” cheered the hosts. “Being a slow-poke is cute!”
“Alright! Now for the uniform,” said Tamaki. “We have yet to select the club’s outfit for the school competition!”
“Yeah, that’s important,” said Kaoru and Hikaru, nodding.
“Haruhi, how is the search for the perpetrator coming along?” said Kyoya calmly.
“At first Kuze seemed fishy, but he seems to want to openly confront the Host Club,” said Haruhi. “That means there may be someone else who wants to see Kuze falsely accused. Maybe there’s a simple solution. If we investigate the people around Kuze…What I don’t understand is the meaning of the blank letters.”
“Haruhi, sometimes things that appear complicated turn out to be unexpectedly simple, and vice versa,” said Kyoya. “And even if you have a lot of threads in hand, that does not necessarily mean you have to tie them all together, right?”
“…Huh?” Kyoya was being obtuse as ever, and Haruhi sighed.
“No matter. Just focus on our job,” said Kyoya. “You know the consequences…”
“Yeah, yeah,” said Haruhi, shivering. Her debt would double.
(Y/N) leaned on the back of Kyoya’s chair as Haruhi walked away. “You know more than you’re saying.”
            “Do I?” said Kyoya.
“Yes,” said (Y/N) confidently. They looked down at him. “The citrus smell…It could be perfume, couldn’t it?”
            “Perhaps,” said Kyoya.
“Aha,” said (Y/N). They had the connection, then. “So, how can I help you?”
Kyoya pulled a thick stack of papers from his bag. “Memorize these blueprints for the school.”
“Alright,” said (Y/N), taking them. They smiled at Kyoya. “Let’s win.”
“You’ve got quite a bit of spirit this year,” said Kyoya.
“Kuze annoys me,” said (Y/N). “So, let’s have a third son and a commoner beat him, shall we?”
Kyoya smirked. “We shall.” Kuze had stepped over a line. He had insulted Kyoya and (Y/N). He would pay for it in his loss.
l
The day of the race arrived. Due to the sudden competition between the Football Club and the Host Club, more clubs had joined in excitement. 132 people were vying for the win now. However, the onlookers knew that the only real battle was between the Host Club and the Football Club. Indeed, even as they stood apart and staring at one another—one in a more traditional outfit and the other in jerseys—the energy was palpable.
Mitsuyama cleared her throat and stepped up the microphone. “Let me explain how the race works. You’re to follow the prescribed route and answer the questions at designated sites in each building—East, West, South, and North. If any team member passes, so does their group. If not, the team is eliminated. The group that successfully clears all sites will be given five clues. In the finals, participants must use those clues to seek out a particular location. The group that claims the hidden crown shall win use of the Central Salon. Any questions? No? Very well then…”
The starting gun went off with a bang.
“Let the race begin!” said the broadcast club, the announcers.
The Host Club ran forward to the tables with buzzers, and an announcer grinned, ready with the first trivia question.
“First is the Reflex Quiz! What is the name of the fairy king who appears in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream?”
The Football Club hit the buzzer first and shouted, “Oberon!”
“Correct answer!” said the announcer. “Please ascend the slippery slope behind me and proceed to the next site!”
“Interesting,” said Kyoya. “They mean to eliminate a large number of participants early on.”
Indeed, a lot of people were slipping, and the Football Club was making slow progress. Fortunately, that gave the Host Club a chance to answer a trivia question to move on.
“Who is the author of the British novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd?”
Buzz! “Agatha Christie,” said (Y/N), and Tamaki immediately ran for the slippery slope.
“Ah! They even know more modern British authors! They’re so talented! So cultured!” screamed the host club fans. “And look at Tamaki go!”
“The Host Club is advancing,” announced the broadcast club.
No sooner had they spoken, though, that Tamaki slipped and face-planted on the incline.
            “But he slipped!”
Kaoru and Hikaru jumped on his back to get farther up.
“The Hitachiin brothers are stepping on him! What an incredible strategy for the Chairman’s son to sacrifice his body!”
“Who says it’s a strategy?!” cried Tamaki indignantly.
“Tarumi of the Football Club passes by easily,” said the announcer as Kaoru and Hikaru slipped. “The Football Club starts off in the lead! Close behind are the Gymnastics Club and the Wandervogel Club. Could it be? Will the Host Club be eliminated so soon?!”
            “No,” said Kyoya, smirking.
Honey ran forward and jumped. He landed on Mori’s hands, and Mori boosted him into the air. He landed easily at the top of the incline without having to step foot on it once.
“It’s a miraculous show of teamwork between Morinozuka and Haninozuka!”
            The fans screamed with joy.
“The Host Club passed the first site!”
            Mori smiled slightly.
The next sites went just as smoothly, if not more so. The second site was a math quiz couple with a hundred chin-ups. Kyoya and (Y/N) had the quiz down while Mori handled the chin-ups. The third site was a memorization quiz that (Y/N) and Haruhi worked through while Tamaki did a tightrope-walking activity. The fourth game was “concentration and free throws,” which apparently meant matching art and painters and then making basketball shots. Hikaru and Kaoru seamlessly completed both activities in quick succession.
However, as easily as they finished all the sites, so did the Football Club. They were neck and neck.
“All clear!” said the announcer. “The Host Club finished at the same time as the Football Club. Will the other groups follow? As expected, it looks like the two clubs who sparked the race will move on to challenge each other in the final round! Which club will seize the crown?!”
The Host Club looked at the five listed clues.
BoH Go up and sink Tenjiku KCN Between the Holy Mother and Angel
“Does ‘BoH’ mean there’s supposed to be a word inside the square?” said Hikaru.
“I bet it’s ‘west,’ as in ‘bust, waist, and hip,’ ” said Kaoru. His mother’s influence was clear (she was a designer, after all).
“ ‘Go up and sink?’ ” said Haruhi. “The sun? It comes up and sinks every day.”
“ ‘Tenjiku,’ ” said Kyoya. “That’s India. It’s also the destination of the party in Journey to the West.”
“KCN could be Potassium Cyanide. It smells like almonds, which come from West India,” said (Y/N). “That could be a connection…” They weren’t convinced yet, though.
“Three of the five clues are related to ‘West,’ ” said Tamaki. “Assuming one of them points to the ‘sun…’ that means the destination is the West Gym—where the Third Years are holding their event for the festival! Sunset Venice!”
l
(Y/N) looked around themself. They hadn’t expected to change costumes into that of a venetian carnival outfit, but such were the antics of the Host Club. So, as they floated on a gondola across the giant gym (recreating Venice was quite something), (Y/N) just leaned back.
“A sweet, fragrant sea breeze,” said Tamaki. “A scarlet sunset that burns the heart. How mysterious. Until a moment ago, I thought we were under the sunny autumn sky of Japan. Look, Haruhi. The gentle water flowing in this canal. This grand atmosphere is just like hwo I feel about you—”
            Tock.
            “Dead end,” announced the twins.
“It’s a one-way street, we have to go back,” said Honey.
“So then Tamaki’s feelings for Haruhi are a ‘one way street with a dead end?’ ” said Kyoya.
“Oh, dear, poor Tamaki,” said (Y/N), shaking their head.
“That’s not it! I said ‘gentle and grand!’ ” cried Tamaki. “The scene was only a metaphor for the in a princely character scene!”
“Ah, so your feelings are just an act,” said (Y/N).
            “No!” whined Tamaki.
            (Y/N) chuckled, and Kyoya smirked.
“Guys, can we focus on the race? The Football Club is way ahead,” said Haruhi, sighing.
“Oh, no, this is bad!” cried Tamaki. “Row! Row fast!”
Mori was way ahead of him and propelled them forward.
“Suoh! Catch!” Kuze taunted Tamaki and threw an orange towards him.
Tamaki leaned out to catch it, but (Y/N) pulled a punting pole from the water and knocked the orange aside. Tamaki pouted, and (Y/N) shook their head.
“He’s trying distracting us,” said (Y/N). “Do you want to lose?”
            “No!” declared Tamaki.
“But where exactly are we heading?” said Haruhi. “We can’t look for the crown blindly in a large area like this. We need to figure out that last clue. What does ‘Between the Holy Mother and Angel’ mean?”
“She’s never been to Italy…” said the twins, Honey, and Tamaki sadly.
“Will you stop that ‘feeling sorry for the deprived commoner’ attitude?” said Haruhi, rolling her eyes.
“Listen, Haruhi, even if it’s done on a much smaller scale, several famous locations in Venice have been erected in the gym,” said Tamaki. “For example, Palazzo Dario. San Marco. Ducale. And, most importantly, Sant’Angelo and Santa Maria della Salute.”
            “Oh!” said Haruhi.
“It looks like the Football Club is heading for the same place,” said Kaoru.
“Yeah, let’s hurry. The crown is probably sitting between the two spots in the gym. That’ll be Academia Bridge,” said Hikaru.
            “Mori, onwards!” declared Tamaki.
“By the way, Haruhi, I hear you mentioned to Tamaki you think there are two perpetrators behind the letters?” said Kyoya. “Do you have any suspects?”
“Yes, I think the one who sent the newspaper cutouts is Kanan Mitsuyama, the Student Council Secretary,” said Haruhi.
Kyoya and (Y/N) glanced at each other as Haruhi continued.
“Kuze has said he has a connection to the Student Council. I believe he asked Mitsuyama for help,” explained Haruhi. “He convinced the Student Council to withdraw from the race to make it more advantageous for the Football Club. From what I saw of them interacting yesterday, she doesn’t seem to be cooperating willingly.”
(Y/N) saw a tiny smirk on Kyoya’s face, and they tilted their head. Hm.
“I think Mitsuyama might be in a position where she can’t act against Kuze,” said Haruhi. “Though she may be obeying his orders, she may have a grudge against him. And that would explain why she might have conspired to prevent Kuze from realizing his absolute goal—a face-off with the Host Club.”
“A very bold theory,” said Kyoya with an expression that (Y/N) knew from experience was a bit of amusement. “But is there any basis for her grudge?”
“I did some research on the library computer yesterday,” said Haruhi. “Mitsuyama’s family holds the second biggest market share in Japan for imported produce. In other words, they’re direct competitors. But their business dropped last year, and rumor has it that the Kuze family is talking to them about some merger deals.”
“You mean he’s manipulating Miss Mitsuyama using a deal that would rescue her family’s business?” said Hikaru.
“For a gentleman, a deed like that is unforgivable!” said Tamaki. “We cannot let this stand. Everyone, take an oar! Whatever it takes, we must reach Accademia Bridge before the Football Club! For the sake of Miss Mitsuyama’s misery, the Host Club must win!”
l
“…” The entirety of the Football Club and Host Club stared at the “Restricted Area” sign of the (under construction) Accademia Bridge. They had all been wrong about the clues.
“Oh, no! It’s still being built,” said Honey. “Well…After all, it’s not to open for two days.”
“This is your class, Honey!” cried Tamaki. “You should know the status of the project!”
            Mori shrugged.
“But we’re not in charge of this section,” said Honey. “I’m doing a pastry shop.”
“President! It’s not your fault, President! Here! Oranges have an rousing effect on the mind!”
Kuze—also in Class 3-A—had forgotten about this area being under construction as well and felt extremely stupid.
(Y/N) put a hand to their chin and looked around. If this isn’t the place…then where is it? It’s definitely here in the West. There’s no doubt there. So what— (Y/N) straightened. KCN and “Go up and sink.” The blueprints Kyoya had me memorize. Alkaline is in pool’s, and there’s a pool we can sink into on the roof of a building in the West. (Y/N) looked at Kyoya. Had he known…?
Kyoya saw their knowing look and nodded. He smirked and waved them off. (Y/N) grinned, tore off their Carnivale costume, and raced for the next building.
A few moments later, they heard the announcer saying people were giving chase, and (Y/N) forced themself onwards and upwards until they reached the roof. There, sitting on a throne between statues of an angel and Mother Mary, was a crown.
“Get to the crown!” shouted Kyoya.
From below on the stairs, he and the hosts were pushing the Football Club as they all jostled to get to the top. Kuze broke through, and (Y/N) ran for the crown. A broadcast team and Mitsuyama were already there and watched with wide eyes as (Y/N) and Kuze lunged for the crown.
            “Takeshi!” cried Mitsuyama.
            “(Y/N)!” shouted Tamaki.
            “It’s—” the announcer’s eyes widened.
(Y/N) threw their hand up with the crown clutched in it and a giant grin on their face.
“It’s over!” shouted the announcer. “(Y/N) (L/N) has claimed the crown! The Host Club wins!”

I finished nobody’s fault & chase and I couldn’t understand why chase wouldn’t forgive house. Like obviously he’s traumatised and couldn’t walk but it feels like I’m just missing sth crucial. Chase did reason it with his doubts…but I don’t know if he honestly believed them. Any thoughts?
In a lot of very interesting ways, Nobody's Fault/Chase reads to me like a pretty direct continuation of Teamwork. Of S6. Cameron leaves the show talking about how House is poison, how he ruins people and ruined Chase specifically: House is reckless, House makes people act like him, House has ruined Chase's life. And… it's unfair, but it's not entirely wrong. Chase has become a worse person over the years. He has become a lonelier and more bitter person.
Nobody's Fault makes it fairly clear that legally, the stabbing was not House's fault. Chase fucked up, Adams fucked up, everyone made mistakes. House wasn't really even involved, but at the same time, none of it would have happened if not for House. This is Cameron's "poison" speech come back around: House spends years encouraging recklessness and results and defiance, and eventually it's going to backfire and hurt someone. House never told Chase to murder Dibala, but House taught Chase to act and not care about laws or consequences.
HOUSE: She blames me for Dibala's murder, not you. CHASE: You were barely involved in that case. She knows that. HOUSE: But I created the big, bad, evil climate that allowed it to happen. (teamwork)
CAMERON: You did kill Dibala. By playing God and teaching us to do the same. HOUSE: I taught you to think for yourselves. (teamwork)
COFIELD: You brazenly defied your boss. Now that happened either because Dr. House has established that that's okay in his world, or his prank war distracted you, or House makes medicine a game, and you just wanted to beat him. Whatever the reason, it boils down to the fact that you may never walk again because House created an atmosphere that promotes recklessness. (nobody's fault)
This is actually kind of a theme. We even see shades of it in The Mistake, in House Training, in Wilson urging 13 to work for House because she alone is immune to his influence, in Masters and Cameron leaving entirely: House changes people. Not for the better.
So, does Chase truly blame House for what happened? No. At the end of the day, Chase's loyalty to House did win out, and he defends him pretty strongly to Cofield; in fact, he's also able to point out that House was, despite his appearance, wildly concerned and worried and Chase knew it (let's not forget, Chase has always been very good at reading House). He seems to blame himself (using the same "I would do it again" language as he used in Teamwork). But that doesn't mean he isn't angry at House.
Chase is very similar to Forever, Foreman's reaction to his own near death experience. Foreman almost died, and is putting on an act of being a new person to try and give meaning to the event. Chase does sort of the same thing — except he comes to the opposite conclusion. He almost died, and it seems to have made him realize how completely miserable he is. House isn't to blame for the stabbing. He kind of is for that.
That's kind of a theme with Chase in S8 in particular. He takes a year off and is bored and waiting for House. In a later episode, he wonders why he's still working for House: he's in year seven of a three year fellowship. Foreman is the Dean of Medicine; Cameron is running an ER in Chicago. Chase is exactly where he started. His entire life is working for House. And he kind of hates it. Not House, but… his life, you know? He picked House over his marriage. He picked his fellowship over his very successful surgical career. What has he gotten for it? Divorced, lonely, bitter… stabbed. He's thrown his morals away. He killed a man in cold blood. Is he happy? Probably not.
Chase is unhappy, he feels (somewhat fairly) that his life is not what he wanted, and like Foreman years earlier, he's trying to make changes. He wants out of House's orbit. He's reflecting on what he wants, and his arguments against Moira joining her convent are… pretty telling: She's missing out on getting married. Having kids. Having a successful career. He tells her later he was married once, that he wants a relationship with her. We know these things are true; only two years ago Chase was absolutely convinced he had it with Cameron. But at the same time, he's grasping at straws. He wants to escape, to start over. He blames House for how his life turned out.
CHASE: I need to get away from House and everything that reminds me of him. ADAMS: By breaking the rules, not caring what anyone else thinks. You're gonna get away from him by turning into him? (chase)
CHASE: This has nothing to do with the truth. You don't like that I'm reassessing my life, that I want to change it, that I can. HOUSE: Anyone can screw up a life. I never said that wasn't possible. CHASE: You're incapable of human connection, so you want everyone to be like you. (chase)
And the thing is, Cameron must be rolling in her grave right now, because. This is what she was saying. House ruins people, he poisons them: he has influenced Chase and not for the better. Chase now, finally, agrees. He isn't happy with his life, and he's blaming House the same way Cameron did. He's angry with House and can't forgive House, not because Chase really blames him for the stabbing, but because he's in his words reassessing, he wants to change, he sees House (correctly, mind you) as the symptom of all these changes: it's not fair to blame House — House wasn't sitting and doing this intentionally — but it's inarguable that a decade with House has done this. (And I love how Nobody's Fault underlines just that point. Chase has been here the longest. He has known House the longest.)
But House is right, too. Chase wanting to change is sincere, but it's also a reaction. He is unhappy, but jumping straight to I will live happily ever after with this random lady isn't a solution. And implicitly, Chase agrees: the fact that Chase has spent half the season with very short hair and stubble, then these episodes limping, is not an accident. Nor is the fact that at the end of Chase and going forward, Chase is clean shaven, back to his usual hairstyle, and no longer limping.
I also think their argument at the end of Chase was. Important. House telling him it's okay, even if not in those words. That he isn't an idiot, that he didn't make a mistake or do something wrong (when Chase from his language and unhappiness over the past few years doesn't seem to agree). They've long since left the days where Chase was slavishly seeking House's approval, but that doesn't mean it didn't mean something to finally get it. I think House telling him you didn't do anything wrong was what Chase really needed: not just the words, but hearing it from House, in a moment where Chase is feeling lost and wanting to change and wanting to blame House (for being miserable, for not connecting to others, for being lonely and alone like Chase fears himself)? That mattered.
And we see going forward that Chase actually does change. He becomes close to Park, he stops sleeping around, he leaves PPTH on his own terms, finally (even if it doesn't exactly stick for long). Cameron was right all along that House changed Chase for the worse… but House and Chase seem to realize that doesn't have to stay that way, and that Chase can still change and be happier going forward.

I'll just say, I may be here posting about Mounting Spring, asks etc... But I'm cooking... I'm cooking something everyone asked me for lol
“I like this! This 3D flower pattern is so on trend right now.”
Levi’s eyes were glued to the screen as a freshly painted nail was shown up close.
“Oh, hi! Thank you,” her voice popped up again, and like an animal in pure confusion, he tilted his head to the side.
What are those things popping up? He was completely lost.
“Isn’t it too late for coffee?” she read aloud before grabbing her cup and taking a sip from the straw. “There’s no such thing as too much black or too late for coffee. Plus, it’s girls’ night! What’s a girls’ night without iced coffee or a glass of wine?”
This feels wrong now, Levi thought, taking a sip of his own drink, lazily sprawled on his bed. But when she started showing off her pajamas, that’s when he lost it.
Holy shit... it’s the little shorts doing it for me.
“This is why kids these days have their eyes glued to this shit,” he muttered, almost offended— as if his own mouth wasn’t slightly open and his eyes weren’t stuck to the screen as she vibed to the song playing in the background.
“Have you ever tried… this one?” She winked at the camera, arm in the air, hips moving in a way that Levi quickly guessed was meant to simulate riding. Over the kitchen island.
…I’m definitely not better than a 12-year-old boy.
The chat flooded with messages about how much they loved the song.
Whose song is this?
“Oh! I love that! Ugh, my heart is divided, I want all of them to win! Birds of a Feather is so good, but Hot to Go?” she gushed, listing more names Levi didn’t recognize.
Who are those?
“And the dance?”
What trend? What song? What dance?
Levi felt lost. Completely lost.
“Oh, thank you for the donation! Here, a heart for you!”
She pressed two fingers together in the shape of a heart. Levi tilted his head again, frowning.
How the hell is that a heart?
But before he could keep questioning his entire existence—or, perhaps, his age—her expression shifted. The usual bright smile faded as she read something from the chat.
“Look, if you’ve got a problem with me, just keep scrolling, buddy. Can an admin ban him from the stream, please?”
That made Levi do the exact opposite. He scrolled up through the rapidly moving chat until he found the comment in question. Some idiot had said she owed it to him if something happened because of what she was wearing and doing on screen.
“What’s your fucking problem, dude?” Levi whispered, clicking his tongue. “If a woman has never even touched you, don’t say it so loudly.”
His fingers moved on their own, pressing the guy’s username, looking for a way to reply—until he suddenly let the phone drop onto his chest and stared at the ceiling.
“I need to calm down,” he muttered. Being in this live stream was already too much for him. Getting into an online argument was not the way to go.
How long had he been watching? He wasn’t sure. But in that time, he’d learned that ASMR meant tapping on objects with freshly done nails and whispering, that people voted on live which designs she should do next, and… a whole lot more.
“Say you can’t sleep, baby, I know. That’s me, espresso…”
She sang along to the music, and he felt hypnotized.
“…Did I just spend two hours of my life on this?”
The “Love ya!” came through the speakers as she blew a final kiss before ending the live.
“For fuck’s sake…” Levi muttered, almost offended. “You can’t be that stupidly cute.”
Maybe pop songs were popular for a reason. Maybe that’s why Levi never downloaded any apps on his phone or used it for anything beyond strictly necessary texts. Because explain to him why the hell he was humming at work.
“Since when do you know Sabrina Carpenter?”
Hange appeared out of nowhere, catching him off guard.
Levi had to come up with an excuse. Fast.
“What? Is it illegal for me to know new songs?”
“No…” Hange dragged the word out, squinting at him in suspicion. “But since when do you?”
“Give me a break. I’m not that old. I can get to know new artists,” he brushed it off while brewing himself a tea.
Hange let it slide, but their mind was already working, scheming. They kept talking, mostly about work. But as Levi finished his tea and was ready to leave, Hange casually dropped:
“Espresso?”
Levi frowned. “What?”
Hange repeated the question immediately, as if he hadn’t heard them the first time. But of course, he had.
“Fuck no. You know I hate coffee. Black tea,” he grumbled.
To his shock, Hange chuckled, shaking their head, biting their lip as they held back a knowing smile.
“Aww, Shortie… don’t give yourself away.”
“Huh?”
“Espresso. That’s the song you were humming.” Their grin widened. “I’m starting to think you’re not just listening to new artists—you’re watching new people.”
Levi stiffened.
And for the first time, he couldn’t hide the subtle embarrassed blush creeping up his face.
“Get off my ass,” he muttered, already walking away.
But Hange wasn’t done.
“And I think it might be Erwin’s cute little influencer friend!”
I won't say anything else, let the readers figure it out.

IN9 episodes tournament, round 1 stats
I have created a spreadsheet based on the wonderful polls by @insideno9bracket and now I am here to give you some solid facts (it's about 1000 words long, I sincerely apologise).
First off, I looked at the general data.
The mean amount of votes per poll was a nice round 90 (to the nearest whole number), with a SD of 11.6 (quite a lot).
The mode was 83, and the median 89.5 (meaning there are a few outliers at the top).
The mean amount of notes per poll was 17 (to the nearest whole number), with 10 of were likes and 7 were reblogs (the number of comments proved to be almost negligible, with a mean of 0.25 comments per poll).
Firstly, I think this shows the general trend on Tumblr of moving away from reblogs and towards likes (a trend that other Tumblr users have made way more interesting posts about, so I won't go into detail about this here). Due to the nature of these polls, I really enjoy reading people's reblog-tags, so I urge you to reblog more next round so I have a good time lol.
Secondly, it shows that only 19% of the people who voted also interacted with the post in another way (not taking into consideration those who liked AND reblogged). Again, I feel like we can do better than this next round. I want to know why you choose the episode you choose! Give me those unhinged and insanely biased tags, reblog with propaganda of why people should vote for a specific episode! It’s what these polls are all about!
Next up, let's take a look at the most popular polls and episodes.
The top 3 most voted for polls were:
Nana's Party vs Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room (125 votes)
Zanzibar vs Paraskevidekatriaphobia (108 votes)
Sardines vs How Do You Plead (105 votes)
The top 3 most voted for episodes were:
Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room (115 votes)
Plodding On (82 votes)
The Stake Out & Cold Comfort (81 votes)
Now, the main take-away from this is how insanely popular BCDR is. It got more votes by itself, than all other polls did in total. Another take-away is the popularity of Sardines and How Do You Plead (we’ll seem them again in the “closest calls” part of this post). People really fought for both those episodes. My last take-away for now, is that we are all insanely predictable and I love that for us lol. Of course Plodding On and The Stake Out are in the top 3, of course they are.
If we look at the most voted for polls/episodes, we of course also need to look at the least voted for (or as I’d like to call it; the bit of this post that would get Reece annoyed).
The top 3 least voted for polls were:
Private View vs Boo To A Goose (55 votes)
And The Winner Is vs Thinking Out Loud (75 votes)
Hurry Up And Wait vs A Quiet Night In (80 votes)
The top 3 least voted for episodes were:
Hurry Up and Wait & The Referee’s A W***er (8 votes)
A Random Act Of Kindness, Nana’s Party & Love Is A Stranger (10 votes)
Kid/Nap (14 votes)
A couple of points on this, Private View vs Boo To a Goose was the first poll to happen, which I believe is the main reason this poll received so few votes. Secondly, some of the episodes in this top 3 were just unlucky with which episode they were up against and aren’t bad episodes per se (to be fair, are there any actual bad episodes? I think not. Just popular and less popular ones). For example, The Referee’s a W***er was up against Cold Comfort (which got 91% of the votes), and Nana’s Party was up against BCDR (which got 92% of the votes).
This brings me nicely to the point of win margins.
Top 3 biggest win margins:
Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room (92%) vs Nana’s Party (8%)
Cold Comfort (91%) vs The Referee’s A W***er (9%)
A Quiet Night In (90%) vs Hurry Up And Wait (10%)
Top 3 smallest win margins
Thinking Out Loud (52%) vs And The Winner Is (48%)
The Trial of Elizabeth Gadge (58.4%) vs The Party’s Over (41.6%)
12 Days Of Christine (59%) vs To Have And To Hold (41%) As well as: Sardines (59%) vs How Do You Plead (41%)
The biggest win margins are all quite straightforward; iconic episodes vs average episodes. Not much to say about that. The smallest win margins are either between two average episodes, or two iconic episodes (/documentaries).
I wonder if perhaps there could be a “golden ticket” poll at some point, to get one of these just-didn’t-win episodes back into the competition (@insideno9bracket)?
Lastly, I looked at the most and least interacted with polls.
Top 3 most interacted with polls:
Death Be Not Proud vs The Stake Out (28 notes)
Nana’s Party vs Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room (25 notes)
Tempting Fate vs Wise Owl & The Last Weekend vs Mulberry Close (24 notes)
Makes a lot of sense, people are very passionate about these episodes.
Top 3 least interacted with polls:
And The Winner is vs Thinking Out Loud (9 notes)
Mother’s Ruin vs Seance Time (10 notes)
Hurry Up and Wait vs A Quiet Night In (11 notes)
It’s either because people weren’t too fussed about these 3 polls (seems unlikely, but alright), or everyone was busy when these polls came out lol. If anyone has a better explanation, I’d love to hear it.
Some extra thoughts:
A lot of this was more or less as I expected, though I thought The Trolley Problem would feature more heavily at the top (it ranks 10th in amount of votes).
I cannot wait for round 2 and seeing if the current trends continue, or if new pairings will change it all up!
Please let me know if there are any other stats you’d like to see! I’ve just gone with everything I could think of, but I’m always open to doing more pointless stats.
Thank you everyone for voting and thank you @Insideno9brackets for doing this. I’m having a great time.

Superstars || Pro Wrestler!Logan x Pro Wrestler!reader
Summary: It's your first day on XMN television since being called up to Evolution. With new friends and possible new rivals your career is filled with the unknown. Especially when it seems like one of the veteran superstars has his eyes on you.
Warnings: some description of wrestling violence.
a/n: OKAY SO. I decided to treat this universe as like sort of series? But it's not like a cohesive story just a lot of short stories in the same universe that can be read separately kind of. This is like the introduction thing though so I will be following up but it can still be read solo. ALSO, I'm gonna add some like wrestling terminology at the end of the fic in case you aren't familiar with certain slang but if that's annoying plz let me know. plz feel free to ask me any clarifying questions too! This is just me combining my two interests lmao.
Tumblr media
This was it. Your debut on Evolution since being moved from Origins. You paced back and forth backstage as you rehearsed your lines over and over again. You were supposed to go and interrupt the current Woman's champion Storm. She's the babyface of the Woman's division and you're the egotistical heel.
She has been undefeated for a year now and you were her next challenger. You feel someone tap your shoulder and you turn to see Storm and Rogue.
"You ready?" Storm asks, the belt resting on her shoulder.
"I guess," You were already dressed up with hair and makeup but it didn't feel real yet. Evolution was XMN's main show. That's where the superstars were, the ones they saw as true star power.
"You're going to do great, promise I'll go easy on you." Storm teases. Despite her goddess character, she's nothing but sweet and down to earth.
"First promo on a new show, don't forget your lines sugar." Rogue jokes.
"I'll try." You say nervously. She notices the deep anxiety written all over your face and gently places her arms on your shoulders.
"You got this, take a deep breath and when you get out there take it all in because you're never going to forget it." Rogue says warmly.
The two of them are called by a production manager leaving you alone once again. The clock was ticking ever closer to your call time. As you head closer to where you need to be you're stopped once again but this time by two men you've never met but heard a lot about.
The Wolverine and Deadpool were XMN's top tag team. Somehow the two of them work. Logan or Wolverine was always going to be a star.
Founded on the indie circuit going by just Logan at the time he was big, brooding, and strong. But his mic work was lacking as he wasn't a big talker. Still his raw talent and clear wrestler figure made it a no brainer to sign the man. That's where he met Wade Wilson. Or Deadpool.
He was a comedy character with a big mouth and the ability to get the crowd wrapped around his finger. He was vulgar and unserious as hell but people loved him. So imagine the shock when the two of them became a tag team. It was strange at first, I mean the two were nothing alike but for some reason the fans gravitated to them. The buddy cop duo charmed their way into viewers hearts.
It made sense, Wade was funny but he never quite reached the status to win any gold. Logan had the chance to win gold but fans hadn't really seemed to connect with him as a possible champion. Put them together and you had an odd couple tag team that people just wanted to root for. Wade did the talking while Logan was the muscle. But the banter the two of them electric.
Not to mention the chemistry in their wrestling, pulling off tag team moves flawlessly. Now they're the world tag team champions. And they're standing right in front of you. You were a massive fan of them and had been before you even joined XMN.
"Logan look! A new ducky has joined the pond." Wade pulled you into a hug immediately.
"Oh, uh hi!" You say as you hug him back.
"Get off her idiot." Logan says with a roll of his eyes.
Man Logan was even hotter in person. They had a match tonight and you just thank whoever decided he should wear those low rise trunks. Everything is on display for sure.
"Hi, I'm a huge fan of both of you." You say excitedly.
"Of course you are, who isn't a fan of us." Wade says jokingly.
"Shut up." Logan says before turning to you.
"Thanks sweetheart. Glad to see you here." You notice his eyes scanning you up and down and you silently thank yourself for wearing your good shorts.
"I've seen you on Origins, you're amazing!" Wade compliments and you thank him.
"You really think so? I'm really nervous about tonight." You say shyly. You've done this before but for some reason tonight just felt different.
"Look, you've got no reason to be nervous sweetheart. You got the look, the talent, the athleticism. Everything. Plus a pretty face never hurts." Logan says with a smirk.
You feel your stomach erupt with butterflies at his compliment. Logan isn't the guy to say something he doesn't mean. In fact it's a shock he's even talking to you. You were warned before about how little he talks and to not take it personally. But here he is smiling and giving you advice.
"Thank you, it means a lot coming from you." You say with a smile.
"Good luck tonight by the way, I'm kind of surprised you aren't main eventing. I mean everyone loves you guys." Logan just shrugs and throws the belt over his shoulder.
"I don't mind too much, we'll get the crowd going for you." He says with a wink. Wade eyes the two of you suspiciously, head turning back and forth.
"Oh my god you are so-" Logan slaps his hand over Wade's mouth before he can say anything else.
"We have to go, see you around real soon sweetheart." Logan drags Wade away towards the main stage.
"So rude!" Wade huffs as he shoves Logan's hand off his mouth. Your eyes drift down as they walk away, shamelessly watching Logan's ass.
Despite only talking to him for a couple minutes he's managed to calm all your nerves.
You watch Logan and Wade's match from gorilla. You can't tear your eyes from the screen as Logan clotheslines . He lets out a roar and the crowd cheers. The intensity in his eyes send shivers down your spine. But fuck does he look good.
His massive arms are on full display as he lifts Beast over his head and slams him onto his knee. He turns his back to the camera and you get to see those muscles in all their fucking glory.
"Careful, you might catch flies." You turn to see Jean standing next to you. She's smiling but it doesn't reach her eyes.
"Oh I wasn't...I was just watching-"
"It's okay, he's a handsome man. Trust me I know." She hums.
You laugh nervously but there's a strange air between the two of you. Jean was the top star. She may not hold a belt but she was a massive draw and everyone knew it.
"If I can offer you a word of advice, I'd stay away from him if I were you. A lot of history there." She flashes a smile and leaves.
You start to fiddle with your sleeve as you let Jeans words sink in. Looking at Logan doesn't mean anything. He's handsome anyone could see that. That's all it is. You don't think about him that way, at least you don't think you do. You barely know the guy. Storm notices your mini spiral and comes over to snap you out of it.
"Don't let her get to you," Storm says.
"Whatever she said, just block it out." You nod and try and push that away. This is your moment and you got this. This is no different than being on Origins. You know how to do this, you're good at this. The bell rings and Logan and Wade stand victorious.
As they walk back into gorilla you clap along with everyone else. Logan runs his fingers through his hair, his once perfectly styled tuffs are now flattened from sweat. His whole body is sweaty and fuck is it hot.
"Nice match Logan," Storm hums.
"Thanks 'Ro. By the way, be nice tonight alright, It's her first day." He says gesturing towards you. Storm raises an eyebrow at his request.
"She's not brand new Logan, just new to this show."
"I know. Just saying she might be nervous is all." Storm smirks. Logan has never cared this much about a new superstar before.
Interesting.
"Logan! That match was amazing." You praise. You move to hug him but stop yourself. Feeling a pair of eyes drilling themselves in the back of your head.
"Thanks sweetheart, I had hoped you were watching." Storms music hits and you watch her walk out to the crowd. The nerves coming back in full force as you realize it was almost time to go out there.
"Hey, stop that." Logan nudges your shoulder and you sigh.
"I don't know why I'm so nervous. I've been doing this for years but this just feels so much bigger." You say.
"Look Chuck wouldn't have brought you here if he didn't think you were ready. I've followed your career since you joined this place. Like I said earlier you have everything it takes. So don't let some nerves get in your way got it?" Your eyes widen at his words.
He's really watched you all this time? Logan is a star and you've just got called up from developmental. It's like a surge of confidence. He's right. You can do this.
"Thank you Logan." You take a few deep breaths and wait by the curtain. In and out.
You focus on what you have to say and wait. A calmness washes over your mind and body as your music hits. Like a switch is flipped inside of you. You grab the mic and walk out that curtain, ready to show the world what you had.
The whole segment went flawlessly. You interrupt Storm, pushing yourself as the soon to be new woman's champion. You feel right at home as exchanged a war of words with her. Everything ending in a brawl that leaves Storm on the mat with you standing above her. Holding the belt and pointing right at the camera.
The fans fell right into your hand. Booing your shameless attack on their champ. You try and hide your smile as you walk out. The fans love you, they want this match and you couldn't be happier. The moment you step back through the curtain you let yourself breathe. Jumping in happiness.
"You did great sugar! It was electrifyin'" Rogue says while pulling you into a hug.
A few other people congratulate and welcome you to the show. After a small debrief about next week you're free to go. Walking through the halls of the arena you can barely contain your excitement for next week. As you change back into normal clothes you find a familiar face waiting outside of the locker room.
"Logan, I thought you would have gone back to the hotel by now." You say, slightly shocked he's still her. He's leaning against the wall with his backpack. Dressed in a very cozy looking gray sweater.
"Decided to stick around to watch. I told you you'd kill it." He joins you as you walk to the exit.
"Well I had to make sure we were worth following your match." You tease. The conversation flows easy as he walks you to the car waiting to take you both back. Luckily the lobby is practically empty by the time you're dropped off with no one joining you in the elevator.
"Hey, I'm going to train tomorrow if you want to join me. I could show you a few things. See what you've got too." Logan offers.
"Yes!" You blurt out. The chance to train with Logan, you'd be a fool to pass that up.
"I mean, yes that would be great." You try and cover any embarrassment by staring at the ground, wishing it would swallow you up. Logan chuckles leans against his hotel door.
"Okay, it's a date then. See you tomorrow sweetheart." He scans his keycard and goes into his room, leaving you standing there in shock.
A warm fuzzy feeling growing in your stomach as you repeat his words in your head. Date. You hear someone clear their throat and you turn to see Jean watching with an unimpressed look on her face.
You duck your head and hurry to your room. Getting in as fast as you can. You throw your bag on the table and fall onto the hotel bed. Today was not like anything you were expecting. Debuting on a new show, meeting Logan, Jean, setting up a championship feud. It's a lot in one day but you couldn't be happier. This was everything you had dreamed of since you decided to become a wrestler and now it was coming true.
Who knows what's going to happen next.

I need next part for that undercover story.
Tumblr media
Previous.
Undercover part 2.
The next day, you found yourself in an empty safehouse, standing in front of a mirror, frowning at your reflection. Ghost sat on the couch behind you, arms draped lazily over the backrest, watching your attempt at "practicing" with barely concealed amusement.
"Alright," you muttered to yourself. "Confidence. It’s all about confidence."
"You talkin’ to yourself now?" Ghost asked, voice laced with mock concern.
You ignored him. Rolling your shoulders back, you turned around, putting on your best sultry expression. "Hey there," you purred, slowly walking toward him. "Buy me a drink?"
Ghost blinked. Then, he snorted. "You sound like you’re auditioning for a bad soap opera."
Your expression dropped. "Oh, piss off."
He shook his head, chuckling. "C’mon, you can do better than that."
You exhaled sharply, planting your hands on your hips. "Alright, fine, hotshot. If you’re such an expert, why don’t you show me how it’s done?"
Ghost didn’t hesitate. In a blink, he was on his feet, closing the distance between you with that predatory grace he always moved with. His large frame towered over yours, forcing you to tilt your head to meet his gaze.
Then, his voice dropped to a deep, smooth murmur. "That’s a lovely dress, darling," he rasped, his accent thicker, richer. His gloved fingers barely brushed your arm, and the lightest touch sent a ripple of heat down your spine. "You mind if I join you?"
Your brain short-circuited.
It took a solid three seconds for you to recover, and by the time you did, Ghost was smirking, clearly pleased with himself.
You shoved him lightly. "Alright, alright, I get it. You win."
His eyes twinkled with mischief. "That was barely trying, love."
You groaned. "I hate you."
"Not yet," he murmured. "But give it time."
Your stomach flipped again. This mission was going to be the death of you.
***
The mission had officially begun, and you were regretting every second of it.
Dressed in a sleek black dress—one that Ghost had oh-so-helpfully commented was “too short to be practical”—you walked into Vasily’s lavish club, the bass of the music thrumming under your feet. The room was drenched in dim golden light, the scent of expensive cigars and top-shelf liquor lingering in the air.
Your earpiece crackled.
“Alright, love,” Ghost’s voice filtered through, smooth but tinged with amusement. “Time to turn on the charm.”
You gritted your teeth, ignoring the way your pulse jumped at the sound of his voice. This wasn’t the time to be distracted by your insufferable partner.
Spotting Vasily at the VIP section, you took a deep breath and made your way over, putting extra effort into each step, letting your hips sway just enough to look natural.
"Easy now," Ghost murmured, voice like velvet in your ear. "Don’t rush it."
You resisted the urge to mutter shut up.
Vasily noticed you before you reached him, his gaze dragging up and down your figure like a man assessing his next meal. You fought the instinct to deck him on sight. Instead, you gave him your best coy smile.
“Mind if I join you?” you asked smoothly, channeling every ounce of fake confidence you could muster.
Vasily grinned, motioning to the seat beside him. “I’d be insulted if you didn’t.”
Oh god. You wanted to gag.
But instead, you sat, crossing one leg over the other, leaning in just enough to seem interested.
Ghost’s voice hummed in your ear. “Good. Now keep him talking.”
Easier said than done.
Vasily leaned back, swirling his drink lazily. “And who might you be, beautiful?”
You offered a slow smile. “Just a traveler passing through.” You tilted your head, feigning curiosity. “But I’ve heard you own half this city. Thought I’d see for myself if the rumors were true.”
Vasily chuckled, clearly pleased by the flattery. “You hear a lot, then.”
You hummed, sipping your drink. “I listen to the right people.”
Ghost’s voice was quieter now, but still present. “Not bad, love. Keep him on his toes.”
As if it wasn’t nerve-wracking enough without his commentary.
Vasily leaned in slightly, his cologne thick and cloying. “And what else have you heard about me?”
That you’re a power-hungry bastard who needs to be taken down.
You smiled instead, tilting your glass toward him. “That you only deal with people you trust.”
His eyes gleamed with something unreadable. “Smart girl.”
Your pulse quickened. Not from excitement—no, this was the feeling of standing on the edge of a cliff, waiting to see if you’d fall or fly.
Ghost’s voice came again, softer this time. “Careful.”
Yeah, no pressure.

🐤 Bathena 💀💀💀💀
And!!
🎃 BuckTommy
🫶🫶🫶🫶
Hi Becca!! Thank youuuu for the prompts, these were so much fun!!!
---
🐥 for Bathena (I'll admit this one gave me pause hehe, so I hope you like what I came up with!!)
The noise of the karaoke bar is deafening, but Bobby’s having a lot of fun. He’s laughing as he sips his club soda and watches as Tommy and Buck come down from the stage after signing an actually very soft rendition of what Hen informed Bobby was a High School Musical song. And now Chimney is trying to convince Bobby to sing, which is. Not gonna happen. He doesn’t sing in public, and there is nothing or no one who can make him change his mind.
Well, except for one person, and Chimney probably knows that. "Athena!" Chim exclaims when he spots her and Maddie coming back from the restroom. "Will you tell your husband he has to sing? He’s the only one who hasn’t!”
Athena raises an eyebrow at Bobby, and he gives her an unimpressed look. She sits down by his side, taking a sip of her wine, and shrugs at Chimney.
“Don’t bother, Chim. I don’t think there’s much we can do if my husband’s too much of a chicken to sing out in public.”
There’s a collective ‘ooooohhhh’ going around the table, and all of his team, plus Maddie, Tommy and Karen, are smirking at Bobby. He feels his cheeks blush, and he raises an eyebrow at Athena, crossing his arms.
“‘Chicken’? Really?” He says, and Tommy and Chim snicker at each other.
“Are you gonna pull a Marty McFly, Cap? The whole ‘nobody calls me a chicken’ thing?” Tommy snarks, and Buck and Eddie start making silly chicken noises. But before they can do it for too long, Athena raises a finger at them, giving them the look. The pair of them stop immediately, looking like properly chastised children.
“First of all, back off. He’s my chicken.” Athena says, kissing his cheek, and she manages to make it sound like a good thing. Then she smirks at him. “But you know how to make them stop, baby.”
Bobby looks at her, then at the microphones, then back at her. And with Athena smiling at him like that, her beautiful eyes looking at him filled with love and joy despite her teasing, singing in public doesn’t seem so terribly scary anymore.
“How about we make a duet out of it?” He suggests, and she laughs at first, but then realizes he’s serious. She smiles amazed at him.
“Are you for real?”
“Unless you don’t wanna sing with a chicken?” He teases, and she rolls her eyes, pressing a kiss to his lips.
“C’mon, chicken. Let’s show this children how it’s done”
(Bucktommy under the cut!)
- 🎃
It's a matter of revenge, really. Eddie had the audacity to say Buck and Tommy were sappy just because they had a little 'No, you hang up' moment during their mutual 48-hour shifts. So, as the little shits they are, they decide they are sappy, that's their thing now. And that they're going to be ridiculously sappy next time they have Eddie over. "Want a beer, Eddie?" Tommy asks from the kitchen, watching as Eddie and Evan keep trying to overtake each other on Mario Kart.
"Yeah, thanks man!" Eddie says distractedly, and Tommy smirks to himself, figuring out how he can get his boyfriend to win.
"And you, Pumpkin?" He asks, his voice as sugary as possible.
It works, too; Eddie drops his controller, looking at them with his mouth agape. Evan, already knowing Tommy had something like this in mind, just smirks and crosses the finish line. Then, he bats his eyelashes at Tommy. "Absolutely, Pumpkin, you're the best" He says, making kissy noises, and Eddie stares between the two of them. "...I hate you both" He grumbles, and Tommy and Evan smirk at each other. The trouble is: they aren't quite able to stop there. At first they only called each other 'Pumpkin' in front of Eddie, but one day, it's just the two of them at home, and Tommy is distracted with a book, so he barely notices what he's saying. "Pumpkin, can you take the trash out?" He says, and Evan stops in his tracks.
It takes Tommy a while to notice he's standing in front of him, a small smirk playing on his face. He frowns at his boyfriend. "What?" "Nothing." Evan says, and then places a kiss on his cheek. "Pumpkin." It's only then that Tommy realizes what he saids, and he can't help but laugh. He pulls Evan down so he lies on his lap, both trash and book forgotten for the moment, and Tommy kisses him. "For the record, I blame Eddie" He clarifies, and Evan laughs, kissing the tip of his nose. "Me too, pumpkin." He teases, and Tommy pinches his arm in retaliation. Evan squirms away with a laugh. "But... you know what? It's kinda cute." "It is." Tommy easily agrees. "We are pretty cute, aren't we, pumpkin?"
"We are." Evan nods resolutely, kissing Tommy soundly. "I love you, pumpkin." "I love you too." Tommy says. -- Becca I really hope you like those, baby! I tried to do something different for the ideas! Ily ♥♥

The reason those C3 fans shit the bricks over the Charity stream was because they viewed the charity stream as a win for them and bells hells. Not like you know, an actual good thing to help people in need. Because when it was announced they were in the qrts and on twt yelling that the cast closing to play as Bells Hells was cause they loved them above all. That BH were "winning" because MN didn't get one shots while airing. No1 expected anyone BUT BH to be played so they were fighting air tbh.
[Cont. So when Laudna got yeeted and Beau joined it, it's like they suddenly hit with the fact that the cast like all the times. All character sheets were available and BH was being played by default of the one shot happening during c3. But they hung their entire world view on BH being extra special that they broke. Saw them also being PISSED at Ashley and Liam for getting MN members to the top before everyone else and especially the gate was "showing up BH".]
Here is what gets me, as a person who does not follow sports in any form: The Mighty Nein are a juggernaut of popularity within the fandom. I think this is for the most part deserved and I also think a lot of fans of C1 who never vibed with any later campaigns are simply not active in fandom any more since it's been 7 years, and Critical Role had more recognition with Campaign 2, so like, numbers within active social media fandom are not a perfect indicator of quality, itself a subjective measure.
HOWEVER. If you want your team to win, the most efficient way to do that is to start rooting for the winning team. I get that this is considered treasonous to genuine fans of sports. But like, if your biggest priority is Number Is Bigger then there is an obvious solution and it's called jumping on the bandwagon. Otherwise, perhaps you should consider a different metric, such as "did I have fun at this game? Were the snacks good? Were there some cool plays?" (from this you can see my priorities re: live sports namely are my friends here and did I get some nachos and a beer but you get my point). Honestly, this is how I and a lot of other people have been approaching Bells Hells week to week for some time now: were there some cool scenes? Did the character they liked most at the time say something funny? Did NPCs do anything? Were the fight mechanics interesting?
I have a post that I am saving for next week about specific elements of C3 that goes into more depth but I feel like Campaign 3's fandom in particular fell to a certain attitude that feels very specific to a younger (to me, an ancient crone, so like, mid-20s) crowd, of obsessing over numbers: how many fics. how many notes. how much screentime. can you believe that Episode 100 didn't even have Bells Hells in it????? And it's like. who the fuck cares. Is it good? Is it satisfying? Because right now we're watching you guys all admit it hasn't been and 120 episodes in you were waiting for the campaign to REALLY begin.
I don't think the cast dislikes Bells Hells! I think they all like all of their characters, and frankly when the cast gets asked directly a lot of them go with a "you never forget your first" and give their VM character anyway so like, the vitriol at the Mighty Nein really is a petty popularity contest in the end. But Bells Hells are the party that the cast happened to be playing during the Moon Plot Campaign and the party that the cast happened to be playing at the time of the livestream. None of the three main parties are uniquely special. They are special to their individual fans.
I made the Elon Musk comparison for C3 fans earlier this week and I don't want to go too hard since like, he is truly horrible, and I do think that a lot of C3 fans, while currently shitty self-absorbed people, are also quite young and it is my hope that a sharp but ultimately harmless disappointment like this campaign might shock them into fixing their hearts, but the final lines of this post came to mind while writing up a lot of my responses: "And in fact I would argue that seeking to put yourself above other people is inherently going to leave you empty, because egotistical as you may be, you've adopted a values system where your sense of self worth intrinsically depends on other people. Congratulations, you played yourself."
If your day can be ruined because your blorbo wasn't present for 100% of a live stream for charity and the cast likes all of their characters? You should work on that! I'm not saying it's easy or fun but it really is a thing you should work on because right now, the worst thing that's going to happen to you is people laughing at your misfortune on social media. But if you keep up this behavior, you're going to be bitter and miserable forever, and it will be your own fault because you're getting mad that something that was never about you continues to not be about you. Learn to accept that you had a good time (if you had a good time, anyway) and it's over and that's okay.

Some background on Dear Dakanda for the TOL rewatch
Thanks to @bengiyo's idea and @lurkingshan's incredible energy and skill for organization, I joined the Theory of Love Romcom Rewatch starting this week, alongside @solitaryandwandering and @neuroticbookworm. It was really interesting starting with an older Thai film–this was one of the reasons I was immediately drawn to this project, I wanted to get exposure to some of the older Thai media that has been a shared touchstone of these content creators, in order to get more of the references. Theory of Love does a lot of the work laying out which films it’s referencing for the audience, which makes this easier; plus I just love that show so you don't need to twist my arm to get me to start a rewatch.
Tumblr media
The first film was Dear Dakanda (2005); in Thai, the name is puen sanit i.e. best friend (or close friend), which is also the name of the first episode of TOL. Shan already wrote about the film itself, and how it relates to the first episode, but as we were watching I was noticing a lot of ties to QL and so I wanted to capture some of that here. What follows is what I was able to find on this film based on internet searches, MyDramaList, and my own knowledge of QL from having been watching it for a decade. I'm by no means a Thai media expert, and coming at this film twenty years later, so if anyone else has context they want to add, please do!
Side note: Why is this interesting? There is something I really like about how identifiably queer people are just around in Thai media, both behind and in front of the camera, and it was interesting to see that in something 20 years old. It’s also just neat to see how small the industry is, and to notice similarities between the work these people produce. I’m well aware that we can’t conflate working on queer stories with being out, and that, especially back in the early 2000s, being out was often a barrier to creating queer media and would mean you could not get work, and that the on-screen opportunities for queer people were often very stereotyped and problematic, so I’m not trying to glamourize the past here. I just think it’s all worth noticing and thinking about.
This film is based on a bestselling and award-winning short novel, The Red Mailbox (2000).
The producer, Keng, puts a lot of what follows in context. Keng was a screenwriter for the film The Iron Ladies (2000) (shout-out once again to @happypotato48 for putting that one on my radar), and started his own production house which was absorbed by GMM and was the predecessor to GDH 559. He’s produced a bunch of QL over the years, including Friend Zone, Tootsies and the Fake (2019), and most recently Flat Girls (2025). He also produced How To Make Millions before Grandma Dies (2024) and co-executive produced The Paradise of Thorns (2024). And, relevant to what's about to follow, he produced My Girl (2003).
The director, S, has also directed several works with queer elements, including Girl from Nowhere, Wake Up Ladies 2: Very Complicated, and the original Club Friday. This was his first solo directing gig, and folks were anticipatory of it after his work as one of the six co-screenwriter/directors of My Girl (2003), for which he co-won a Thailand National Film Association award for best director (this was the first of any of the six's solo efforts). He didn't win that award again for this film, but he was nominated, which is pretty impressive for a first solo outing. The other screenwriter/directors for My Girl have cameos in Dear Dakanda as seniors at university. It's worth noting that there is a character in this film that is apparently reprised from My Girl (the barber), so those following along should be on the lookout for that!
The cinematographer, Beat, won a Thailand National Film Association award for this film. He has also worked regularly with S since, on Girl from Nowhere and Wake Up Ladies 2, and he was the cinematographer for the BL Not Me (as well as several other GMMTV shows folks in this space might recognize, like F4).
One of the two ADs, Petch, also directed an episode of Girl from Nowhere and has since become a director for Konghtup; he’s co-directed both Two Worlds (BL) and Apple My Love (GL).
The other AD Nontra was one of the screenwriters for the original Hormones (2008) film [which I will be honest I haven't seen and don't know if it has any queer elements the way the show does]. The screenwriter for this film, Nitis, was another co-writer for the original Hormones film, and also won a Thailand National Film Association award for this film.
And finally, the composer Vichaya works regularly with GDH and composed the original score for I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon, as well as Paradise of Thorns, Cutie Pie, Tootsies and the Fake, The Stranded, Friend Zone, and more. The score felt like a familiar friend while we were watching this film.
The actors were also familiar faces. The lead actor playing Moo/Khaiyoi, Sunny, was the het romance lead in My Ambulance (which is the Nadao Bangkok series that first included Bilikin and PP as a paired side couple–one that was so popular, they used the demand to see them again to fund the creation of ITSAY).
The actor playing the eponymous Dakanda, Noon, had a bit part in Gay Ok Bangkok s2
The actor playing Nui the rival love interest, Ae, had a supporting role in Mhom Ped Sawan (GL); before that she was the inappropriately flirty client in The Trainee (shoutout to @my-rose-tinted-glasses for noting that she tried to come between Off and Gun in that, which is a very hilarious coincidence); she was also in Vice Versa (which is extra funny because Gun appeared as Third the character from Theory of Love in that show). [Also, Vice Versa people feel free to correct me because I haven’t rewatched that show, but wasn’t her character sapphic? There was definitely something between her character Joob and Jeab’s character Dol, though I can’t remember if it went anywhere.]
All three of these main actors were nominated for a best actor, best actress, and best supporting actress award from the Thailand National Film Association respectively.
Knowing that all of these people were involved in this film and then moved on to work on these shows and films that many of us have seen and loved helps give credence to the parallels we noticed while watching (e.g. the way visuals and characters from this film clearly influenced ITSAY as Shan mentioned in her post; there were also definitely jokes about Ae’s role in this film in Vice Versa that I did not get at the time).

the worst part is i can't even say he's wrong. they certainly did figure out how to contribute the city by joining the wrgp. but like. this is one of those things where it literally does not make sense. this is insane levels of logic. "we're not sure how to contribute to the city. we think entering a magic the gathering tournament will help." like. imagine saying that fr when your parents ask what you're going to do after you graduate college. "idk. thought i'd play card games and figure it out, man"
#yugioh 5ds#yusei fudo#anya rewatches yugioh 5ds sub#i'm cackling over this#like dude you FUCKIN SAVED THE CITY#ushio calling this out too with like ''uhm. you guys kinda saved the city? you don't have to prove anything?''#and they never fully answer why they feel they have to prove something#they just do#arguably this implies an insane level of overachieving from yusei crow and jack#since they're not satisfied with JUST saving the city#but like. it does kinda suck that neither crow nor jack got to move on from playing card games with this set up?#yusei moves on to working on the moment - that works SO MUCH with this statement#and their statements made here#i suppose if you take jack's ''the team that wins will have glory'' statement at face value him continuing to do dueling also makes sense#but it also DOESN'T because like. he ALREADY HAD glory. he's the fuckin former king#this tournament changes nothing. he continues on as if he's still trying to reach it#and it just. there's a lot with jack's writing this season i WILL NOT get into#but oh my god jack atlas is a woman to me the way she was mishandled#and crow's... a lot of it falls so fuckin flat#the three boys were ROBBED but also yusei fully never gets to ever reclaim being a teenager#he ends the series forced into a role he never once indicated he wanted#following the footsteps of his father who he never once indicated he wanted to follow the footsteps of#yusei's character suffers because the show never bothers to address this constant hero complex he has#it's never confronted in any MEANINGFUL way like atem and judai's were#atem's hero complex cost him everything in the waking the dragons arc for example#and judai's led him straight down the path of becoming the supreme king#but for yusei? it's never like. deconstructed. ever.#and it feels like suuuuch a missed moment to go hey yusei. you do not have to be the hero of the city. you are a teenage boy.#what you have done for the city IS ENOUGH you do not owe your life to everyone
