I think I’ve made this known before but the pet semetary remake ruined the horror part entirely when it swapped which kid died because like everybody’s tried spooky zombie 9 year old and she’s not even that much of a zombie she’s just another creepy kid cliche so it really doesn’t work but the creepy 3 year old is not only so much more compelling as a storyline but also just so much more terrifying (like the scene where he slits Judds tendons so he can kill him??) and then so much more heartbreaking to have to defeat

​this may not be very coherent bc I have a narsty cold but it’s something I don’t see talked about much— I’ve been thinking about how much I enjoy the fact that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is kind of creepy. Like. I love that he’s got that freaky “teleport when you’re not looking” ability spiders have, the creepy crawling, the fast and unpredictable movements, the eerie stillness, the hanging, the warning that they’re around with entangling traps or even just dissolving cobwebs that let you know they’re in the area. the kind of animalistic, unnatural, disturbing parts of being a spider that makes spiders, and spider-man, so cool

watched Coraline with my roommate (who had never seen it before) and STRUGGLING not to point out random foreshadowing and small details like

"She's a doll" and "She's as cute as a button In the eyes of everyone who ever laid their eyes on Coraline" during the song foreshadowing the Botton eyes

I was gonna say Star Wars peaked at Rogue One and we just went downhill from there but then I remembered the Siege of Mandalore/ending of Clone Wars so not just downhill but damn why did they mess up with movies after Rogue One? Good Star Wars is like my favorite thing but there is just also so much meh and bad stuff too :(
