Hi! Unfortunately nobody has the recipe for notes and I’m going to encourage to give your best either way. Trust me, love what you’re doing and people will love it too! For the rest, here’s what I feel I can suggest you:• Tag your posts the correct way. So people that are interested in what you do will find you more easily!• Think about what your blog is about and don’t deviate. For me, I came to the decision that I want my blog to be a family friendly place and I don’t want any “adult” content here. No nsfw, no swear words. And I follow this even for the very rare nonsims posts. Just so, there are no surprises for my followers.• Have fun! Be you! Do you feel what you’re doing isn’t satisfying you? Do something else! Is what you’re doing boring you? Do something fun! If you ever need anything just let me know! If I can, I will surely try to help! Thank you very much for this and have an amazing day/night!😘

Hey I was wondering if you had any tips on starting a simblr? I'm pretty new and although I still haven't quite figured out how to recolour hai yet as Mac is a lot more difficult i do want to start a simblr although having no clue how! Thanks

Hiya! First of all, I would like to quickly apologise for taking so long to answer this, but I’ve been really busy working and such all week and I didn’t want to give you a half-assed answer so I decided to wait till now, I hope you don’t mind!

I am not entirely sure whether you want some general tips about having a simblr or more for recolouring/making custom content, so I will do a bit of both :’)

For Starting A Simblr (or just for Simblrs in general idek yo);

If you’re starting completely from scratch make a new account, so you have your simblr as your main blog and not a side blog - this’ll just make it easier for you to interact with people and vice versa!

Use correct tags for everything, please - For example, a lot of people incorrectly tag their stories, legacy pictures, edits and even random text posts as “s4cc/ts4cc” and it drives me and most of the community absolutely bonkers! Those tags in particular are for finding custom content and not for random sim edits/stories, so please, please do not be one of those people. The same principle goes for tagging your text/personal posts - some people only want to see sims related content so they block tags such as “nonsims” and “saviourhide” which are used to tag personal posts. I, personally tend to use “nonsims” for reblogs if it’s not sims related and “made” my own tag “purrsonal” for all my personal/non sims post so people can block it if they wish to. The same thing goes for tagging your NSFW and any sort of sensitive posts! (If you are unsure what to tag something as, then feel free to ask me - I’m more than happy to help!)

This is somewhat related to my previous point - personal posts are fun and enables your followers to get to know you, but there is such a thing as carrying away with sharing absolutely everything - It can be dangerous in general, depending on the amount of and kind of information you share online, but if you post a lot of rants/controversial/negative posts, people are more likely to unfollow or not follow you at all as most people don’t really want to see negativity on their dash. It is normal to get annoyed and rant, because sometimes you just need to get it out of your system - but excessive, unnecessary ranting/negative posts can deter people from following you!

Getting discovered and making friends can be quite difficult at times, but a really easy way to make acquaintances and friends is to be active on their blogs - like, comment, reblog, send asks/messages and so on! Most of the Simming community is really kind and polite, so don’t be scared to drop them a message or ask them questions :)

Again, this is related to my previous point - recognition of any sort of is nice and everybody wants to feel appreciated, but don’t get wrapped up in trying to gain followers, notes and attention! If you do, you’ll lose interest in your game and blog really quickly - and you may gain some negative/unwanted attention if you get too caught up in trying to become “famous”. Remember, notes and followers are not everything and it doesn’t matter how many followers you have. I know it can be a bit upsetting and disheartening if you don’t get recognition and attention when you want people to see your stuff, but all in good time - everybody’s different and different blogs grow at different rates, so enjoy what you do and post what you like and people will eventually come!

.. and most importantly; Treat others the way you want to be treated. Always be kind to others and the gesture will be reciprocated!

For CC Making;

Tutorials, tutorials and even more tutorials!! That’s honestly how I learned everything I know - I started with simple recolours and tried more and more things and I can somewhat mesh/frankenmesh stuff now, although most of my cc making is still done through texture editing!

If you’re struggling with something or not sure if you like it or not, save it and leave it for another day (…. or be like me and completely forget about it, then discover it again weeks/months later lmao). If you look at it the next day or whenever you next have some free time with a fresh mind you may be able to fix it or decide which direction you want to take the CC :)

If you are struggling and don’t know how to fix an issue and couldn’t find the answer googling it, don’t be afraid of posting it and asking for help - there are also some really talented and lovely creators out there too who have no issue lending you a helping hand if you’re struggling!

Last, but definitely not least - have fun with it and don’t give up!! It’s very rare that something turns out perfect with your first try, so don’t get disappointed, try again - it’s all a learning process after all!

Nightcrawler (2014) review:

A film that’s basically about what Late Capitalism thinks the ideal person is. Also just an incredible movie with maybe the most disjointed soundtrack ever. Three moved bodies out of three moved bodies, would watch again despite it being rill heavy on the upsetti in the sketti.

Side observations:

YAY I'M DONE WITH THIS SEMESTER!

I'm gonna pause my current playing of the Orsons and really sink my teeth into this new expansion pack. I still have a bunch of Orson stuff queued up so don't worry, I just won't be resuming playing until my second semester starts, so there might be a gap.

Unless I really miss the Orsons or get sick of downloading and decorating townhouses and finally having a purpose for worlds like Forgotten Hollow and Magnolia Promenade.

I'm taking 16 credits this next semester but none of them are research courses (GOSH BE PRAISED), so if anything I'll be even more involved on Tumblr, hopefully possibly maybe?

Anyways I'm just done this fucking semester is done. I was a dingus and took two research-heavy classes which made me feel even better about not opting to go for a Psych PhD because I 100% lack the academic rigor or whatever for that.

HEY FRIENDS!!!

Today, Baldurs Gate 3 comes out. I've been playing the early access for dang-near 3 years now, and I am so ready. That said, I have a bunch of Sims 4 content in the queue! My Orson Legacy posts are going to slow down to once a day, just to give me time to really sink my teeth into Shadowheart's butt this game I've been waiting for since FOREVER.

I might share the occasional pic of my new character when the game is released! And obviously, I will still play Sims, but this is going to be a hyperfixation for a bit and I wanted to prepare everyone for it.
